Specific Notes:
Based on both Klingon and Kazon techniques, the Marine Torpedo ( or MarT, but colloquially know as a MarTini) is a single purpose vehicle. It's job is to get as many Marines into an enemy ship as quickly and as brutally as possible. After the initial success of the Mark I, production commenced on full squad Marine Boarding Torpedo.. designation MarT or MBT, to carry a full squad in a single torpedo.

It is launched from a specially designed tube for best performance, or if necessary, from a shuttle bay. With its fire and forget targeting system, the MarT accelerates to maximum impulse, carving through the targeted hull, in the process shearing away enough of it's ablative armor shell to allow the Marines inside to activate explosive bolts and exit, fully armed and ready to fire. Special sealants combine with the parts of the tear away hull to form a plug and prevent explosive decompression.

The MarT has been tested against many and various hull types, and the MarT can penetrate any current hull known to Starfleet. Earlier types had some problems penetrating deeply enough into Borg cubes to reliably allow exit for the Marine squad. Fortunately this was discovered during field testing, and not during actual operations.
While the MarT's are equipped with an impressive Inertial Dampening field, to save space they were not equipped with any other life support. All Marine's are strapped down and must wear BDU's in full EVA configuration for the operation.

It should be noted that the MarT is a single use, one way vehicle. It provides no means of escape for the Marines, and is either used only as a weapon of last resort or when retreat can be guaranteed by other means.

The MarT may only be used on vessels with their shields down, or minimal shields at best
