The Battle of Wolf 359 sees the Borg Cube come close to Earth while the Mars Defence Perimeter was a failure of epic proportions as the unmanned pods were too few and ineffectual against the Borg.

Breen attack on Earth sees the Breen launches an attack to mainly demoralised Starfleet and the people on Earth.

The Federation launches a rescue armada to Romulus, which is destroyed by a supernova.

Admiral Janeway goes back in time to rescue the USS Voyager

The Federation civil war ends, and the fleet is returned to its primary charter of science and exploration missions

The Federation unhappy accepts the application of the Cardassian Union into the Federation as an attempt to stop the small flood of worlds leaving

Andor leaves the Federation in a stunning move. Siting the Federation as fools and misguided and blind to the threats that are coming. Andor closes its borders to anyone.

The Federation enters an era of contraction, member worlds depart and there are no new worlds joining. The Federatio becomes insular and avoids contact with anyone outside its own borders.

The 52nd Fleet along with the majority of the fleet is disbanded as Starfleet becomes more fractured and spends more time with internal matters sich as diplomacy, humanitarian and recovery missions and less on fleet operations and exploration

Earth is attacked again, its defences provide ineffective once more, leaving millions dead and the Federation has lost 1/4 of its member world.

President Stiave Atremi, a Bajoran, is elected to lead the Federation with mass resignations and a more militant arm of Starfleet calling for action to reclaim what was lost. She calls for calm and restraint.

Work begins on the new Mars Defence Perimeter, the first step in a more militaristic Starfleet

Sy found herself on the Ranch on Earth but recognized that the plants around her were Betazoid in origin... around her she saw the dessicated bodies of her father and mother. No fluids anywhere, no sign of how they died. She reached out one finger to touch her Mother's papyrus like face. That touch caused the body of her Mother, Admiral Sophie Verin of Strategic Operations to blow away, dust on the wind blowing in from the door. That wind also took the body of her Father, leaving her nothing to mourn.
