Main shuttle bay is a good idea. I’ll join you” =^= Yes Doctor Understood=^= Closing the comm he turned to Adala “Grab that kit, youre with me” Adala had been working non-stop and turned when Gabe spoke her name. "Yes sir." She said as she grabbed a medkit and joined him. “Dr Poldan, you have sickbay. Computer medical transport to section 12” He stood next to Adala as they transported. (posted by Mat and Kathleen) (USS Exeter – Deck 7 Section 12 – Nurse,CPO, Ewan McDonald & CMO Ens Gabe Vepser & Sci Ens Adala - 23:20) Pushing past a damage repair team Gabe eventually found Ewan “Report” Ewan turned to see Vesper and Michaels. “Doctors. Its worse then the what initially apparent.” He indicated to a doorway that had its doors bent and twisted out of its frame. There was a damage control team trying to prise one of the doors open to get access. “Somehow the explosion damaged something in the primary labs. There was a fire in there but with all the damage the fire suppression system did not stop it.” He paused for a moment. “So when we were doing our primary search opening the door caused a back draft which blasted it way out injuring one of the damage control team.” He pointed to four people lying against the corridor bulkhead. “They have third degree burns and will need intense regeneration but are stable at this moment.” He looked back down the corridor. “Apart from them we have found six more all with burn injuries. Three with inhalation damage which will need a Doctor to look at properly. One with a broken shoulder and burns to the torso and one with a broken leg and arm burns and the last who looks like to hit the bulkhead has full burns on his back, arms and legs along with a fractured shoulder and multiple arms fractures.” He looked back at the damage control team which had gotten the door to the primary lab open. “I was about to go inside and see who survived.” Gabe felt the pang in his stomach, this was a lot to deal with, medical orderlies were trying their best and the nursing staff were clearly fighting for space. “STOP!” Gabe yelled as loud as he could over the noise. “Damage control teams move the hell out the way, my guys need access to clear this corridor. Anyone that can walk is to go to Main Shuttlebay, orderlies support the transfer. Nursing Staff move immobile patents with non life threatening conditions to any free space we dont want to flood the shuttlebay whilst they are setting up.” Gabe looked around and two junior doctors stumbling through the mess “You two start dealing with the burns patients and take control of this mess!” Gabe turned back to the small team he had and picked up his torch “ready?” he looked at the nurse and the science officer “Yes Doctor.” Ewan stepped over to retrieve the medkit he had been using and check that his wrist torch was working. He stepped over to Vesper and nodded. "Ok then" Gabe turned on the torch and walked Corey though the door “Lets go” (posted by Mat, Kathleen, and Robbie) (USS Exeter – Lab– Nurse,CPO, Ewan McDonald & CMO Ens Gabe Vepser & Sci Ens Adala - 23:30) The smell of burnt flesh flooded the room and almost knocked Gabe over. He could see the blown out consoles and the bodies laying on the floor, evidence some were alive could be heard drifting along with the smell. The muted moment of adjustment left and Gabe was faced with the noise of the scene. Fire was raging through the doors leading to the test area of the lab it was clear there was someone trapped. "Fire control team in here!" Gabe called then turned. "Ok you two, triage." Adala gagged and reached into her personal medical pouch, pulling out a small vial and smearing the ointment beneath her nose before following the Doctor. “Someone is going to have to go in there. You know they won’t survive with that heat or the fumes.” She’d seen similar conditions throughout her career when she had been called upon to aid in search and rescue efforts. Most of the time in this case they ended up badly. She was determined not to let that happen now. She moved forward to begin work on those who were injured nearby. But knew someone would have to go in there. Ewan stepped closer to the door and nodded to himself as the fire control team set to work extinguishing the fire. This reminded him when he had been deployed to the deep drilling rig on Huyu Gamma 12. It and its cluster of sister rigs had all gone up and his team was in the first wave to arrive. It had been hell on earth and the team had worked until they dropped day after day after day. ~Stop it. Here and now~ “I’ll go first.” He took a few more steadying breaths getting his nose full of the smell of burnt flesh so that his brain could start to process it out. He moved inside the room as the fire team pulled back out. He here the faint popping and tinging of cooling bulkheads. He systematically panned his torch across the room making sure that he did not miss anyone. “Is there anyone in here.” There was a movement from under a table and a hand appeared from out of the gloom. Ewan kept his path towards the person slow and controlled rushing now would cause more problems. “Doctors I have found someone.” Adala shouldered her bag and picked up a spare medkit before following Ewan into the dark, gutted room. Her own torch swaying from side to side as she searched for signs of life, any life, regardless of how small. Ewans voice came from the gloom. She swallowed and headed in his direction. Her heart beat rapidly as she moved towards the movement and knelt, her tricorder beeping as she began her visual and tricorder assessment. Following into the room Gabe shone his torch trying to find Nurse McDonald "Ewan?" Seeing the frames he moved closer as the bulkheads groaned and as the smell of smoke set it, it was clear that there was still some activity in the background that no-one had thought to asses, the room rocked to simulate the ships ongoing attack. "Gabe!" Her voice was loud as she alerted the doctor. A slight tinge of anxiety in her voice. She knew time was of the essence. Stopping centre of the room he swung "Adala?" Calling out as he lit where she was stood As she spoke Gabe felt the floor shudder followed by the unmistakable noise =/\=medical teams to engineering=/\= =/\= we've got it Gabe=/\= Nurse Silvines voice drifted along the channel. Ewan had managed to get to the patient. He was half listening to Michaels and Vesper as he looked at the patient. It was a woman curled into a ball and fitted into the small space under the desk. The desk had protected her from most of the fire damage. He hunched down and held his hand out and spoke calmly. “Hello, my name is Ewan I am here to help, okay?” He saw her flitched for a moment and nodded. “Come on let's get you out of here okay. We will get you back to sickbay and get you treated.” He helped her slowly to her feet. “Give me a second.” he pulled out the tricorder and gave her a quick scan just in case there was something he had missed. ~burns and inhalation only she is very lucky~ He glanced back to see Michaels in the gloom behind him. “Okay see the lady back there that’s Adala she will pass you on to one of the medics who will get you to sickbay okay.” The woman nodded. “Doctor Michaels. I have one woman with burns as well as inhalation. She is stable and ambulatory.” Adala moved forward, wrapped one arm around the woman and placed her other hand on the woman's arm, being as gentle as possible and aware of her burns. “Take it slow” she said as they moved towards the door. Ewan looked at the woman as Michaels took her away. Too many memories came back. Of other places and other patients who did not make it. ~Stop is Ewan her and now, here and now. That can be dealt with later. You can’t help people if you are not here so get your head on straight and be the professional you are~ He looked over to see Vesper. “Sir I am going further in.” "Michaels, take her to the shuttlebay and report back here." “Yes Sir.” Adala said as she moved towards the corridor, She supported the woman, moving slowly. “I’ll be back as soon as I get her settled in the shuttlebay.” Speaking as the two made their way into the corridor. Gabe turned to Ewan "not on your own your not" he wiped the sweat from his forehead and sighed "this brings back some memories from the Academy." Ewan looked back at him. “In what why Doctor?” "We used to have to run these types of scenarios, one was in the corridors total wipe out. There at the end". Gabe pointed to two shadows. Ewan nodded as he began to move forward. “We had similar things but ours was a week long. They would get us deployed as a team and run it as one big scenario throwing everything that they could think of be it ground side or in on a starship.” "I've set the computer to randomise the scenario, no-one knows what's going to happen. We need to move fast their stats are dropping" Gabe turned his attention to the two crewmen. “Yes Doctor.” He stepped carefully forward, going too fast could cause further injury if he did something wrong. He reached the first one and looked over to find the second nearby. They both looked in a bad state and would need help fast. “ Doctor I can see both of them. They are in a bad way we need to get them out hof here sharpish.” "Agree, slowly d……" Gabe was cut off =/\=all hands brace for impact=/\= Gabe grabbed onto the consoles Infront of them as ship shook again, this time more violently than before he felt the deckplates shudder. =/\=emergency forcefields failing, decompression main shuttlebay, damage control teams and medical teams to shuttlebay=/\= Gabe looked at Ewan, he knew this was a worse case but wasn't expecting this, the fear showing on his face he looked down at the two crewmen and back to Ewan, it was unspoken but he knew what he needed to do. Ewan nodded as he opened his medkit, pulled out a hypospray and into the neck of the closest patient. He hoped the pain killers would help before they would move them. “We need to get them out of here before we run out of air.” Adala had taken the woman to sickbay and left her in capable hands. She had just arrived back at the lab when she heard the words that made her heart freeze and the floor shook beneath her, almost knocking her off her feet. Adala straightened and hurried to where the doctor and Ewan were assisting two crewmembers who looked worse for wear. "What can I do?" "We need to get these two out of here, check emergency transporters" Gabe said standing up and tapping his badge "vespers to bridge" =/\=go ahead Dr=/\= "What's the situation, decompression in the shuttle bay?" =/\=we've sealed the internal doors but the bay doors were open when forcefields went down. You can't go in there yet. Bulkheads have failed standby=/\= "We need to get these people out of here before this gets worse. This really is worse case" “McDonald to Transport room one. I need a site to site transport from my position to sickbay with five people is that possible?” =^=Yes Chief but only if you go now=^= He looked from Adala to Vesper. “Doctors?” "Energize" Gabe called. The blue haze dissolved the room around them as Gabe heard the sound he didn't want to hear [Simulation ended] (posted by Mat, Kathleen, Robbie) (USS Exeter – Sickbay – CMO – Ens Gabe Vesper, Ewan McDonald & Sci Ens Adala - 23:50) Standing in Sickbay Gabe watched as most of the casualties disappeared bar the few that were real officers, the room returned to normal. He looked down to see Ewan and Adala comforting what is now empty space. As the medical team looked at him he knew his face wasn't right, he felt the anger, the annoyance, the frustration. If this had been real countless crew were dead, the Sickbay was over run and no-one seemed to react. He turned on his heals, sighed deeply and left his rage tailing behind him; he heard the tones of Nurse Silvine holding someone back. Operating on the Captain, a first eh?” “You know sir it is better not to think of it as operating on the captain.” Kaz said a bit more smug then normal he wasn’t sure why he felt he needed to act that way around Gabe but he didn’t. “It’s better to think of him as Trip just an ordinary guy. Beside killing a captain could freeze your career in the fleet and we wouldn’t want that at all would we.” Kaz said with a small smile almost evil smile. This was the kind of thing the jealous Intern would pull in their class mate. “Nurse Silvine is over seeing the sedation, she will call us when its time. We need to assess the body for the affected DNA, using the data from Starfleet Medical we can work out the required nanoprobe. Before we inject the probes we need to inset the control chip at the top of Trips spine and attach to his neocortical network. Once working this will regulate the nanoprobes and allow them to search and distroy the required cells.” Gabe picked up the PADD and passed it to Kasian “thats the data from the last week of scans.” Kaz took the padd “so if all go according to your plan this should be pretty simple right boss.” Kaz said looking Gabe directly in the eyes. Gabe sensed the same uneasy attitude he had been talking to Jester about, it seemed whenever they were in close proximity they clashed. “Well, I dont intend to kill the Captain, after all he is distant family. It should and will be simple, I have no concerns with our ability to operate” ~just my ability not to chuck you out of the airlock you smug p’tach~ Gabe rested his face on his palm “I would like you to lead with the nanoprobes, I can place the control chip, is that ok?” Gabe was reaching out, trying to make a difference. “Well I really hope you never intend to kill anyone going into a surgery.” He said giving a wink at the CMO. “As far as the nanoprobes go you are aware I’m a general surgeon right it’s not my actual specialty. I can of course do it I just want to make sure you know.” “Neither is it mine, but in space we need to adapt. The data we need is all there on the PADD” Gabe didnt know how to take the wink but ran with it anyway. “Well okay then it seems like we have a pretty good plan going in as long as Trip Cooperates we should be fine.” Kaz said putting the PADD down on the table Gabe laughed “Commander Williams is sedated on our operating table, he doesnt get to object. He has already signed off the plan.” “The Captain is under now Drs, we’re ready.” Nurse Silvine said walking back to the operating room. “Shall we?” Gabe said standing and pulling off his jacket, he didnt see the point in taking it with him to just have to take it off when scrubbing up. Kaz got up and followed Vesper out of the room this was going to be the longest surgery of his life he was sure about that. (posted by Mat and Rich) (USS Exeter - Operating Theatre - CMO / ACMO - Ens Gabe Vesper / Ens Kasian Poldan - 0935) Having scrubbed and ready Gabe followed Poldan into the room. Looking up at the monitors he noted everything was as it should be. “First things first, Nurse Silvine, prepair the equipment please. Computer start playlist Vesper Beta” [ELO Mr Blue Sky] started playing in the background. “Ok, we need to assess the affected cells then can move forward. Dr?” Gabe said looking over at the Trill Kaz openly rolled his eyes at the play list as he allowed the scrub nurse to finish putting the gloves in his hands. “Is it over yet” he whispered to the nurse causing her to give a small laugh. Kaz made his way over to Vesper “computer run type 3 medical scan with holo imaginary.” Kaz said the computer beep and the image pulled up between the two. Kaz rotated and flip the image a few times then pointed “that one right?” Kaz knew he was right he just wanted Gabe to say it. Looking over at the screen whilst he was getting the tray ready Gabe concentrated. “Thats the one. He’s riddled with them. His Batazoid brain must be working overtime to filter the effects out. Kaz fiddled either the image a bit more before sliding it out of the way. “Must be its going to be major relief on him. “Well I think it’s time we get stared.” He said as he turned to start peeping the nanoprobes. “Running the filters now, I’m targeting half the cells to remove them but leave a sample until for the nanoprobes.” Gabe watched as things happened “ready for you now” Kaz picked up the probes looking at Gabe “well moment of truth”. He said as he inserted the probes into the surgical field. Watching as the probes took place he saw them laying dormant, “Ok, my turn” picking up laser scalpel Gabe began cutting, and the process of inserting the control device into Trips system. Reacting to any warnings he carried on.” Time passed “OK, activate the device for me?” he looked at the ACMO and crossed his fingers Kasian picked up a tricorder pressing a few buttons activating the device. Looking at Gabe then back to the tricorder. “Device activated sir.” They both watched the image as the nanoprobes came to work. “15% reduction, 24%, settling at 32% reduction. Its a start, can you increase the range of the chip, focus the scanners. Ill try and stimulate the brain. Kaz pressed a few buttons increasing the range of the chip by 3%. He figured a slow start would be best and didn’t want to push it any further than necessary. “3% increase starting in 3. 2. 1. And done. He said as he looked back up at the image. An alarm sounded Gabe looked at the results “The hypersensitive pathways are responding too quick, his white blood cells are reacting to the nanoprobes. Turn it down” Kaz responded quickly “Droping down 1%” he said as the alarm keep going “Dropping down 1% again.” Kaz said remaining calm and keeping his head about it not letting panic set in. “10cc Adrenaline Nurse” Gabe called taking the hypo, “try and counter that.” watching the results “he’s settled.any loss in the nanoprobes?” Kaz looked at Gabe for a second and he was a bit impressed at how he reacted and handled the situation. “Seems fine I think we reacted well and in time for it.” “Its worth noting in the log, there had been some adverse reactions but nothing so quick and so low. Keep him as he is now, scans show everything as it should be. Monitor him for the next two hours and we can wake him. Well done Dr!” Gabe handed the situation over to Nurse Silvine and took Poldan to the office to review things. (Reply none) (Posted by Mat& Richard) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Mission: The Flames of Purity Day: 15 Stardate: 2445.09.15 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< (USS Exeter – Bridge / Turbolift – CIO 3/O Lieutenant jg Jaelle Foxglove and StratOPS Ensign SG Billy Alexander - 1013) Things were gonna happen quickly. Jaelle exited the meeting as concern grew upon her face. They were going into a hostile area of space to find an even more hostile enemy, an enemy more than willing to die for his belief. Jaelle had been part of her share of messy, difficult missions she knew how to read between the lines. The next few day there was a good chance not everyone was gonna make it back alive. She was lost in thought as she entered the turbo lift the enormity of the task before them loomed over her. It wasn’t until someone mentioned a deck that Jaelle realized she wasn't alone. “Hey, thought I might not catch you, but Trip got out of the observation lounge just in time. You seemed kind of distracted on the bridge after you got out of the meeting. I wanted to say something, but I didn’t want to say something on the bridge.” Her mood softened, "Thank you..." She was going to continue but as Billy spoke up she let the rest of her statement hang in the air. “You don’t have to tell me anything, I know Trip will brief me when the time comes for me to analyze some data, but I figured. I’d check in on how you are doing.” Billy then reached out and held her hand. She let her hand slide into his. "Things are about to get complicated. You may see a side of me you may not be comfortable being around." She looked to him, knowing her abilities had scared off more than one person in her past that had gotten close to her. “So what, everyone has a side to themselves they don’t like, and it usually comes out in heightened stress situations like this one.” "I just don't want to scare you away with mine." She spoke sincerely. “You just have to remember that you control yourself, not your past. And if things get rough out there, just ask yourself, WWBD, what would Billy do?” He said with a laugh. This was one moment the humor was lost on her. She didn't want to see him hurt. She didn't want him to see the darkness that lived in her. "WWBD," she spoke slowly. "I just hope I don't disappoint." “Look, I know who you were, I know who you think you are, and I know who I think you can be. I don’t think you’re a monster, the murderer you’ve been conditioned to believe you are.” She listened as his words comforted him, allowing him to continue. “Your heart is capable of such gentleness and love, and I think you have a capacity for forgiveness and restraint you aren’t aware of.” “And I know myself, and I’m not easily scared off. It’s going to be ok.” He squeezed her hand tighter. She turned into him the small confines of the turbolift leaving her little room to escape his comforting words. "I'm still scared." She spoke words that seemed foreign to her. "I don’t want to mess this up." “No one is perfect 100% of the time. We have to allow ourselves an opportunity to screw up. At the end of the day, for lack of a better term, we’re only human. Part of Sentient organic life is, well, getting things wrong.” She listened to what he said in and respected Billy to continue. “Look, I’m a fan of baseball. It’s almost a family religion amongst males of the Williams line. And in baseball, the effectiveness of a hitter is determined by their batting average. The better average the more likely someone is going to get in the lineup. But what is a good average? A .500 average, .750, no, those are astronomical and don’t hold up after time. A good average for a hitter in baseball is a .333 average. 1 out of 3. A good hitter gets a hit 1 out of every 3 at bats. You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to keep swinging.” Everything about her screamed that this logic was wrong. Mistakes cost lives, and were to be punished harshly. There was no room for error, the mission was to be executed with the precision of a surgeon's scalpel. “Remember, 2 steps forward and one step back, is still a net gain of one step forward.” "It's not how I was raised." She put it simply. She had no pretty analogies to put it in. “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish J.” The turbolift stopped. “Trust your gut. This is my stop.” He gave her a kiss on the cheek and with a smile left the turbo lift. She watched the doors close as the turbolift started to move again. She was alone with her thoughts. Soon the doors opened again and she made her way to the Intel suite and to her office. (Reply none) (Posted By Matthew and Will) (USS Exeter - Bridge – aCTO Ens. "Ensign Sleeford, I will remain on the bridge. You are to put together teams for critical areas of the ship. Also, put together a possible boarding team." Nodding “ Understood, may I suggest splitting Beta shift in two and spreading them into Alpha and Gamma for the duration, I know it will mean 12 hour shifts, but it will give us more man power to cover everything.” She turned her head slightly to look into the eyes of Ensign More. "You go with Ensign Sleeford. He will give you your orders." (reply More) "Alright boys, get to work," Dareshaa smiled as she dismissed her two officers. Do you wish us to just to keep an eye on the main one on deck 15? “ Stan asked. Taking the PADD from More, Sleeford looked at the deck layout of the Exeter and frowned, “Damn. “ Pausing to think Sleeford recalled a drill that had taken place a few days earlier. “Hang on a second Stan, I might have a way round this.” Tapping his badge Sleeford made his inquiry “Sleeford to Doctor Vesper” (Reply Vesper) “Doctor do you have plans to use the main bay as a triage area?” (Reply Vesper) “Thank you doctor” Turning back to More, Sleeford smiled, “Well that sort of solves that, cover deck 9, I’ll see if ops can close down deck 14 , unless we have major need of it. “; Pausing to allow More to formulate his own plans.; “Help any?” (Reply More) Waiting until the room emptied Sleeford looked around and sighed, he knew that before this was over he’d be saying goodbye to several of his team. Grabbing his PADD Sleeford left the office to the sole charge of the PO and headed to the armoury, entering he opened his locker, taking out his old black combat suit he stripped off his uniform top and redressed, slipping on his body and chest rig. Taking his Bowie knife he pulled the blade and checked the sharpness by rubbing his thumb across the blade, pulling a face he took the small stone from the pouch and run it several times over the blade, satisfied he slide the knife back into the scabbard and strapped it to his right thigh. Walking to the hatch he took a Mk 4 Compression rifle and a mark 2 hand held, which he slipped into a pouch in the front of his rig. Setting the rifle down on the table Sleeford put the sling on and slipped the rifle over his shoulder, turning back he took six power packs for the rifle and four for the hand held, placing them in various pockets over his rig. Walking out of the armoury Sleeford looked like he was ready to fight a one man war against any who would dare to attack his ship. Taking a deep breath he started what he knew would be a very long shift of making sure that everyone and everything was safe. Boone then looked around the room as Lieutenant Ravok moved on. Ensign Foster caught the beautiful eyes of Ensign Page. She winked at him, and Boone smiled at her. He knew the young crew was capable even if they didn't know it. He stood up from his chair ad walked to the window and crossed his arms. The various departments were hard at work preparing themselves for the worst, some were probably making the situation worse on themselves in their own heads. He turned and walked out of his quarters and proceeded to the turbolift. The doors opened, he boarded the lift with calm demeanor. " Bridge " he requested in his deep monotone voice. The turbolift stopped at deck 13 the door opened and a young ensign walked on. " Sir" Erik said to them making contact with only his eyes. The Ensign looked worried, but the young officer addressed him " Master Chief ." The young ensigns voice conveyed false confidence. Their eyes however, conveyed the undeniable fact that his nerves were shook. " Bridge " the Ensign ordered the turbolift. Erik looked over at the Ensign who seemed to sweating more and more and looking more flushed as they rapidly approached Deck 1. Erik reached forward to control panel and stopped the turbolift on deck 4. The Ensign looked at Master Chief Knight hand on the panel. " What are you doing?" The Officer asked nervously. Master Chief Knight looked at him. " You aren't going to the bridge until you get it together" The officer look stunned. " What did you just say ?" Erik turned his body and face the Ensign. " I said you aren't going to the bridge until you get it together, but what I should of said is I'm not going to let you walk onto that bridge looking like you going to soil yourself at any moment. These nerves of yours are infectious. They spread beyond just you. Others see you and they become nervous. So Sir, if you cant get it together I'm going to request you get off here and take a walk to get it together or you can remain on this lift and once those doors open on the bridge, you and I walk out completely cool and level headed. " The Ensign looked at Erik still stunned , but that look was quickly fading to humiliation. " I'm trying, I really am. I'm not even 4 months out of the academy. This is all happening so fast. " Erik nodded his head and opened the door to Deck 4 . " Walk with me Sir" he said to Ensign. The Ensign complied. The two of them walked off the turbolift. " How old are you Ensign? " Erik asked . " 26 " He responded. " Hmm, The captain is 23, youngest commanding officer in the history of Starfleet. Not even a full 2 weeks and he led the 1st fighter wing of mars on a mission to the kuiper belt to Eliminate a threat to the sol system." " I heard about the battle." Erik stopped walking and placed his hand on the young man's shoulder and smiled " Two weeks and he did that. " he said as he slapped his shoulder gently. " There is plenty of reasons to be nervous Sir, but your an officer. Trust me one day you'll look back on this and think about this moment and laugh. I dare even say that you might even feel a little silly." Erik said in a calming tone and laughed. The Ensign nervously laughed. " It is silly isnt it " Erik shook his head " Not now it isnt but one day it will be" they both started laughing. " Look let's go up to that bridge and walk on there like we own the place. That's what people need to see when they see you. They need to see a confident officer and my men, the enlisted need to see a confident leader. " The Young man smiled " You know what your right. My name is Louis Watson by the way " he reached his hand out to shake Erik's. The hand shake was returned, firm handshake. " I am Erik Knight sir." The two of them walked back towards the turbolift. The young officer felt a little better after having this unexpected moment. Entering the turbolift Erik looked at the officer and the officer looked at him and smiled " Like we own the place. ?" Plus there was still the upper one on deck 14. If they decided to use it. But as that was shut down for now. The lower shuttle-bay was his main objective. Stan had an idea. The Bio readings for Bajorains were slightly different. They could set up some stun mines. That would go off if a Bajorian went past one. More would also work in a safety sensor. If it sensed a comm. badge signal, the mine would not go off. After all he did not wish to hurt any of the Bajorians on the crew. They needed to set up positions around the lower shuttle-bay. Looking over every angle. He deployed his team into shooting positions. Stan also toyed with another idea. If it looked like they were about to loose. There was a dooms day option. Open the shuttle-bay doors. Then everyone including himself and his team. Would be sucked out into space. It was not an ideal solution. But if it was needed to protect the Exeter. " What's going on Chief Brown?" He asked, interested in what briefing the seasoned veteran had for him. “Well Sir, we think we've come up with a plan, the sensor side of things is a little sketchy but on the whole it we believe it's a good idea. We use probes to seek and tag targets with an EM-Pulse, meaning we can focus the Exeter's sensors and weapons on what we know is a target rather than a sensor ghost, Erin can explain the science a little better.” Smiling, Erin raised an eyebrow, “I don’t think that the Lieutenant needs to hear a long and very boring explanation of the science behind this.” Winking at Ravok, she handed him a PADD, “It’s all on here, Sir.” After reading the information on the PADD, he laid it down on a nearby torpedo casing and placed his hands on hips and began to pace. " The only real issue I see is these probes could themselves become targets. They aren't very maneuverable and can't make on the fly course corrections, once they're gone we lose our tagged targets." He stopped dead in his tracks and looked at Janey with a look of brilliant thought. " Unless.." "Shuttles? We could use a shuttle instead, still small enough to manoeuvre but large enough not to be as vulnerable" Janey said walking away as she thought. Ravok stepped toward Janey as if to follow her, glancing at Erin for an instant. " Yes, we use the shuttles to see what the Exeter can't" Janey looked at Erin to see how we felt. "Well Kid, thoughts? “First of all, stop with the kid, Chief. Second, my only concern with the shuttles is pilots. One, i think even i could learn how to pilot but not in two hours. You…” She turned to Ravok, “... could do it. But the question then becomes would the Commander allow his Chief Ops officer to do it.” " We have skilled pilots in almost every department. Ensign Winters is skilled but I don't think she's ready for the type of piloting it's going to take. Hell I don't think any of us are" Ravok replied with a chuckle. He was completely in disbelief of even considering this idea, but he knew the Exeter would stand a better chance in battle against her enemies if tactical could fire into blind spots. Janey continued to work listening as things progressed. "The captain will need to learn to take a chance and believe in his crew, part of the job" “There’s always Ire i suppose. Or Greta. Although, if we ask either of them, the other is going to be worried sick. It’s not exactly an easy mission.” " I know whoever goes, someone will be worried sick, but we all know the inherent risk of the job." He paused, crossing his arms across his chest, looking at the ground he nodded his head as if he were debating with himself. He snapped his head up " I will do it. I will pilot a shuttle, we should suggest two shuttles, in that case Ire should pilot the other." Ravok stated. He hated suggesting Ire for such a thing , if it was up to him he would suggest he goes and goes alone, but he knew logically that would make no sense. Looking up again Janey rolled her eyes "like I said to the Kid here" Janey winked, it wasn't going away "death and worry is part of the job, get used to it." “Whatever we suggest here, we need to be sure. We need to be sure we can do this.” Erin asserted. " If we get the authorization it should take no more than an hour to complete the recalibration of the systems on the shuttles." He mentioned. As the conversation drew to an end Janey looked up from the console she was at. "That's the initial code done, I'll need to access the shuttles sensors, so I guess we're on the move again." “We? Oh, so i get to watch a master at work again do i?” Erin replied with a smile. Janey walked to the door and turned "guess you do, so, which of you lucky guys wants to tell the Captain?" “Not me. I need to go check on my guys. Last I heard, two of them were heading to the holodeck. I really should go find them.” Ravok looked at them both " I will talk to the Captain, I'd rather him hear this crazy idea from me and spare the two of you " "Well it's nice not to have to break the news to one Captain, you young ones can have that fun. If we decrease the energy output of phaser banks but increase the nadion particles by a factor of 3 parts per million in each beam and fire short burst we would illuminate their shields with nadion flashes just long enough for the Exeter to see the enemy and open fire. The enemy will try to use the environment to their advantage , so let's take that advantage away before they even know what's happening. The shuttles will continuously send coordinates to the Exeter as well. For this each shuttle will require a pilot and another crew member to transmit data and fire phasers. I suggest Lieutenants Williams and Cortez for one shuttle and Chief Brown and myself for the other. " "It'll be pretty risky if we get into combat, you'd be sitting ducks. I understand the navigational benefits, but in combat, you'd be a liability." (reply Ravok) "But, if you are willing to take the risk, if you can look me in the eye and tell me that you are willing to take the risk, and that you understand that we might not be able to get you back to the Exeter in a fight, and you guys might need to bug out if that happens. Then yeah, you can have your op." (reply Ravok) "Alright, then you got your op. Dismissed." Ravok declared thinking of the ship and crew before himself. "Alright, then you got your op. Dismissed." Trip said. Ravok stood up and nodded his head " Thank you...Sir" He wanted to say so much to Trip, maybe comfort him in whatever way he could, but Ravok knew he couldn't. He took his leave of the ready room and walked out onto the bridge. He looked over and saw Ire at the helm Ravok approached him. " Lieutenant Williams , I need you to come with me. " ( reply Ire) Ravok walked off the bridge and to the turbolift , as he waited for the doors to open He turned and looked at Ire . "Alright man, you can kill me when we get back but I just volunteered you for what could be a suicide mission." ( reply Ire ) They stepped on to the turbolift, the doors closed. She was scared. Scared of what was going to happen and scared of what could happen. Tapping her hand, nervously on the console in front of her, she tried to focus her mind on what was going on in the here and now. Trying to concentrate Janey tried to filter out the noise that Erin was making. She put down the tricorder and stood up from under the console. "What's up?" Janey sat in the empty chair. "Nothing… just trying to keep my mind steady." "It's not easy is it? First big mission?" "First one where's there's a damn good chance I might not make it home? No." Janey stopped and focused on Erin, they were running out of time but she could sort her own shuttle out on the move, Erin needed Janey's full focus. "Everything carries a risk. I'm guessing you've worked with Lt Williams before?" "I know the idea is sound and I trust Ire. He's…. He saved my life. I just… it's the waiting. " "I remember my big accident" she pointed to the scar on her face "must be thirty years ago now, we didn't know there was a risk, simple shuttle test gone wrong. My best friend was piloting I'm glad she was there though, they get you through." Janey shifted not really knowing where she was going with this, or if indeed it was ever going to be helpful. "I've seen them all panic, the guys you all looked up to from the 52 fleet, knew them all and I'll tell you now, every single one of them got scared; some didn't show it but you knew deep down. But, they knew they had a job to do, we just found a way to do it.". Janey took hold of Erin's hand "you'll be fine kid, I promise you, you'll be fine" “If we make it through this, we should get a drink sometime. I …. Don’t have many friends here. Ravok…. Sorry the Lieutenant and i are old friends. I am close to the first officer. She pulled me through a rough time Nesha too.… other than that. Not many friends at all.” "I'm the First Officers 'Aunty'" Janey laughed as she did the air quotes. "Her parents were the worst, believe me her dad would tour the ship when he was FO just to try and get some sleep." “I should stop wallowing and let you get on with your work. Anything i can do to help other than shut the hell up?” "You can bring the modified sensors online, we need to narrow the targeting array and then bring the EM emitter online." Janey smiled as she went to the midship console. "And if you get back alive I'll buy the first round, that should be incentive enough" Smiling softly, Erin nodded and turned her attention to the console. Pressing the console, "okay, sensors online and…." She tapped a few more times, "... the EM emitter too." "Locate the targeting sub array and access the secondary processing unit. Bring the pulse programme online" Janey lifted the access port under the floor to start her work. "How do you do it?" "Do what?" Janey called her head inside the tunnel. "How do you stay so focused knowing that we are heading into the badlands in a tiny shuttle against an enemy that has more firepower than we do… and could easily take us out?" "It's just another mission, just another job." She came out back into the cabin "just focus on the task. I mean, I could easily blow that console up by inadvertently overloading the matrix if I wasn't paying attention. But I'll let you in on a secret, inside I'm not focused or calm you just learn how to channel it." Janey looked at the console "done, we just need to lock it all down and onto the next shuttle, you're doing well kid" Nodding, "you think we can do this and come back, all of us?" "Ask me in 30 years when you're sat in a command chair" Janey smiled, she had warned to Erin, her vulnerability was a welcome change to the bravado that seemed to permiate around the ship. "Word of advice, focus on the here and now, tomorrow is a whole other world" "Command? Nah not for me. I've been through way to much for it. But I try to do that. Focus. If we get the chance before we have to fly, I might take a minute by myself. To focus. It's not going to be a cake walk out there." "All the greats do it, let's just make sure the shuttles are done first yeah?" "The greats? Puts me in illustrious company!" Erin replied with a wink as she walked towards shuttle two. "So, same thing again?" "I'd like a test run, but I guess we do that in the field, onto the next one" Janey walked out onto the next shuttle "Chief?" "Erin?" Janey turned to look at her "Thankyou." "Anytime" Janey winked as they left the shuttle Ire and Ravok walked onto the shuttle bay at 1141 on the dot. " So that is pretty much it. " Ravok said to Ire after telling him the situation he felt bad for pulling his friend into, but regardless of any jokes others make Ravok trusted Ire to fly that shuttle more than anyone else. Ire shook his head and rolled his eyes. “No nothing too complicated then.” Ravok patted Ire on the shoulder as they approached the shuttles " Well my friend such is the life of a Starfleet officer" He gave Ravok a slight grin. “What! See new world and new civilizations and try not to die while you're at it?” Hearing the voices as they stepped out of the shuttle Janey made a beeline for the officers "Nice of you to join us, better late than never I suppose" Janey smiled showing she was trying to get a rise out of the officers "so, verdict from the Captain?" Ravok nodded his head to Janey " He gave the go ahead." He said looking over Chief Brown's shoulder, over at Erin in the shuttle and motioned with his hand for her to come out. "Wonderful, well in that case you should know that the ground work on shuttle one is done. You need to work your magic and we can start on shuttle two. It's nice to be back in the saddle" Ire looked at the shuttles. “It's going to be nice to fly something smaller for a while.” Ravok looked at Janey and Ire " Let's head over there" he said nodding his head toward Erin " I have something I need to say that all of you need to hear " He stated as he walked over to where Erin was. "This better not be a motivational speech, she sapped them all out of me" Janey laughed, she was starting to love Erin but the doomsday act was thin. “I could be worse, it could be one if mine.” Ire said with a slight smile. "Please tell me you aren't going to sing that Klingon opera you were so fond of at the academy?" Ravok smiled at Erin. " First things first, when I spoke to the captain he asked me to look him in the eye and tell him that I knew the risk of this operation. I'm going to ask all of you to do the same thing here with me . If you don't want to go, please remain here and I will find someone to replace you." He looked at each of them. Janey rolled her eyes "We have work to do, does that answer your question? Ravok turned his attention to Janey. " Chief Brown." Ravok said. " I am well aware of the work you have done and what still needs to be done, but I do not need anyone second guessing themselves out there, do I make myself clear ?" Ravok asked with a stern tone. Janey tapped his shoulder and stood next to Ravok "Sir" ~you might just find your door sensor malfunctioning when we're back~ Ravok looked at Erin and Ire, waiting for their responses. "Well, I had a hand in this idea so, I'm going. If nothing else then to keep your ass safe so Keira doesn't kill me if you don't…." She dropped her gaze, not finishing the sentence and knowing she didn't have to. Ire smiled and nodded. “You don’t have to ask me twice.” He nodded his head in acceptance of their responses and walked over to shuttle number ones hanger bay interface terminal. " I see the work is complete on shuttle one, good job both of you , I will begin modifying the phasers. Ire could you please check the flight systems on both shuttles ?" “Okay.” Ire headed towards the nearest shuttle. ~am I inaudible to this guy, I just told him that~ Janey walked to the second shuttle puffing out her cheeks. "I'll just sort this one then" Janey said under her breath.. Ravoks romulan ears heard her mumble something, but he ignored it. Standing by herself, Erin took a deep breath. This was something bigger than anything she had been involved in before. This was her and Chief Brown's idea. If this went wrong then four lives would be on her. Four lives, including her own and the life of her brother. Ravok entered shuttle one and began recalibrating the phasers to emit a less penetrative beam but at the same time allowing for a high quantity of Nadion particles to be fired. He adjust the phasers with a built in fail safe program that would allow the emitters to convert back to their original setup. In case they got into a bad situation. Though there would be a momentary delay. He concluded his work on shuttle one and exited the craft and went to the interface terminal and checked preliminary diagnostics. "What now?" How long do we have before we launch?" Erin asked in a quiet voice. Ravok walked over to the interface terminal on shuttle 2 and said " Within the hour" looking at Erin with his eyes momentarily then returned them to the terminal in front of him. Focused diligently on the information in front of him. Janey turned and faced the officers “Shuttle two details uploaded, you need to sort the phasers” she said mainly to Ravok "Okay, I should go check on my guys…." She responded, her voice tailing off as she knew there was something else she wanted to do. “Im done here, I would want a full test but, time doesnt allow it.” Janey tapped the PADD on her arm as she kept them folded. Ire stepped out of the shuttle “The shuttles are ready to go when we are.” Looking over at Ire, Ravok smiled. " Thank you " Walking towards the shuttle bay door, Erin stopped, turned back and said, "give me half an hour. I'll be back. I need to go talk to my staff and…." She sighed. Ravok looked at all of them." I have some things to go over on the bridge, I will return shortly." Ire nodded then paused for a moment, “I need to pop back to my quarters and grab my flight suit.” He turned towards the door. “I’ll be back shortly.” (Reply none) (Posted by Rob D, Robbie, Mat H and Jackie) (USS Exeter – Personal quarters - CSO Lt JG Erin Cortez & FO Lt Ailynn Bracken- 1142) Sitting in her quarters, Erin wiped her eyes. "Chief Brown and I… we have a plan to help the Exeter in the battle…." "Okaaay...why don't I like the way this is going?" "Lieutenant Ravok, Williams, Chief Brown and myself are taking two shuttles. We plan to 'tag' the enemy vessels so that the ship has a definite target and not firing at ghosts and not getting caught in the plasma storms…" Ailynn’s heart sank. "It's a decent plan, but sounds horribly risky." "There's a chance…." She sighed heavily and closed her eyes, "... we won't make it back so I need you to do something for me. She couldn't finish the sentence and knew she didn't have to. Ailynn felt a lump in her throat, and her voice thickened. "Of course sweetie, I'll deliver it in person." She paused, "Honour is the wrong word; but it would be...well...I'm touched that you'd ask it of me. I know how important you are to them" Her voice quivering, Erin looked at Ailynn, "There's something else. I can't do this without… without saying something to you." Ailynn's face was a picture of concern, Erin had been through so much in the last few months. "What is it 'E'?" She placed a friendly arm over her shoulders. "You… are the sister I never had. I couldn't do this without telling you… Thank you. " Ailynn squeezed her friends shoulder. "That's a lovely thing to say, I think so much of you too. But what are you thanking me for?" "For helping me through the whole Dulon episode. For believing in me. For talking Trip into giving me this position because I know that was you…" She smiled. "I only put forward your name everything else you did." She shook her head, "Ailynn, you believed in me when no-one else did. I can't begin to describe what you mean to me. " "You've been there for me, you’ve been a friend for me when everyone else moved on with their lives. I have you to thank for convincing me to accept the FO position." "I have something for you." Ailynn blushed, "you really don't…" Erin walked into her bedroom and came back with a small wooden box, "Ravok gave me this… he said that it was because I was his sister and that I should pass it on to my daughter when I had one…" Ailynn gasped. "Erin its beautiful...no...no" "No, Just wait. If i don't make it through this, i don't have anyone else to give it to. Take it." She responded, thrusting the box at Ailynn. Ailynn's eyes welled up, "You get this back when you come back do you hear?" She pulled Erin into a hug. "You have to keep safe. I don't have anyone else." "Ire's flying my shuttle so the odds are ever in my favour. " she replied hugging her friend close. "Ailynn, if this is it for me, promise me one thing." "I can try." She shrugged, "no promises" "Well, two. Don't let this bring you down. You are so good at what you do. Find someone, someone who will love you like you deserve to be loved." "That's not for lack of trying," Ailynn said sadly, thinking about recent losses. "Two, tell Jimmy that it would have been good. To see what we could have been. And that I'm sorry I was an ass." She hugged Erin, "of course I will....Erin...I'm sure that all this is for nowt, but you're my friend, and I'll do whatever you need me too." "I'm sure but it's given me the strength to go do this. Just promise me one last thing?" "Of course." "Look after Trip. He's a good guy and will make Captain one day. Ailynn smiled, "I will." "I should go…" Nodding, Ailynn got up, "I need to get moving as well." She gave Erin a last hug."It will be fine." "I.. hope so. I love you. " Ailynn smiled as she went to leave the room. "I know. She could also feel a calm trying to fight its way into her mind and turned her attention to her console as the Commander spoke, "Mr. Williams, move us into range transporter ranger. I want us to be able to render assistance as we can." Watching the view screen as they had dropped out of quantum drive, Erin’s eyes grew as she saw the Sabre class vessel attacking the civilian ship. She began to scan the Sabre class, hoping for any way to stop them. Her ears heard the reports coming in of the wounded and the two that were lost. She knew that they would all feel the loss of the two they could not save, but there would be time for grief and the time was not now. "Lt. Cortez, get me a scan on their hull, I want to find any structural weekspots. " “Aye, Sir.” "Open a channel." he barked, as soon as the Channel was open he stood up. The other ship was not accepting visual, but the audio channel appeared to be open. "This is Captain Trip Williams of the USS Exeter, by order of Starfleet you are hereby asked to stand down and surrender." As the Sabre began firing at The Exter, Erin gripped her console as the ship rocked from the phaser hit. Taking a deep breath, she heard the call go out for any tactical options. It was that moment that Ravok's console began chirping. " Two vessels detected Sir." Ravok said as the two vessels appeared on the view screen. " A Saber class starship and a civilian freighter. "Bridge to sickbay, prepare for wounded." (reply Sickbay) "Sir, it appears that the Saber class has beamed a number of people from the freighter over to them. As for those who are left, I have lock on survivors" Ravok said as he beamed the survivors of the freighter crew aboard. "We have them." "Shields up. Ire move us to a safe distance." It was at that moment that the freighter exploded, thankfully they were at a distance safe from the shockwave. "How many did we get?" Trip asked, his anxiety rising, adrenaline pumping. " 10 Sir...only 10 ". Ravok remarked. Out of 12 survivors only 10 had been transported successfully. The transporter lock on 2 of the survivors failed." Trip sighed and shook his head. He then turned to Ailynn. "Lt. Bracken, go down to sickbay and check on the survivors, see if anyone is awake enough to tell us what happened. Take Ensigns Sleefor and More with you. The image of the Badlands appeared on the view screen and the feeling of dread crept into his body as his memories flashed back to a time where he had been far to close to comfort. ~You are maybe going a lot closer soon but at least it will be a manoeuvrable shuttle craft and not some old freighter~ " Two vessels detected Sir." He swung the nose of the Exeter on a heading towards the freighter. He kept a close eye on the fast manoeuvring Saber. The last thing that he needed was to get into a position where the Saber was able to hide behind the freighter. He heard the red alert klaxon go off and half heard the discussions of the others on the bridge. He pushed that all the back of his mind as he focused wholly on piloting the ship. He watched as the distance metre counted do to transport range. He began to turned the ship onto to a parallel course maintaining the correct distance for the transporters. He watched as the Saber suddenly pulled off its approach run and was about to comment when Trips spoke. "Shields up. Ire move us to a safe distance." Ire’s fingers pushed the impulse engines to full power as he turned the Exeter away from the strickened freighter. It was at that moment that the freighter exploded, thankfully they were at a distance safe from the shockwave. He saw the Saber carrying on its turn and they both moved away from each other. He reduced power and reversed to turn so that he was able to keep monitor the Saber for any erratic course corrections. "Alright then, Mr. Williams, bring us into targeting range of the Saber Class, and when we're in ranger, Ensign Dareshaa, I want a firing solution." “Yes captain.” ~Right then now your mine~ He fired the manoeuvring thrusters to tighten the turn and bring the Exeter round on a course heading towards the Saber as he increase the power to the impulse engines again as they raced towards it. The Exeter snap rolled and slew around as Ire tried to get her out of the way of the Sabers firing pattered and then onto a better firing position. He felt as they were hit and grimaced mentally. ~This is not a fighter it’s a star ship. We are slower and less manoeuvrable then the Saber~ The Saber pivoted sideways as it finished the attach run. ~Saber has mainly forward firing weapons but we have a wider arc of fire. If I turn in a few seconds I can present a portion of the top of the ship which would give the Dareshaa the ability to fire the dorsal and aft phaser arrays~ He scrutinised the Saber’s new course and began to turn as he tried to give tactical a firing lock on the slippery Saber. " Starboard shield is down to 87 percent " With starboard now facing the enemy Ravok drew power from the port shield to reinforce the starboard shield. He saw Ire's hands flying across the Conn. Ire was positioning the ship to give tactical a better chance of delivering a much deserved punch back to the saber. “The Sabre’s shields are operating on a rotating frequency. If we can predict that rotation, we can adjust out phasers to match and take them out.” Erin called out. Ravok scanned the Sabers shields. They appeared to have static pause of 3 seconds between each harmonic shift. After a few moments Using the multiphasic scans from the lateral sensor array. He noticed a pattern of the static frequencies. 291.1 , 281.1 , 291.4, 281.4 , 291.7, 281.7, 291.1 , 281.4 . “Complete the turn thirty more degrees and that lines us up for a broadside with all three phaser arrays. I think 15 shots in 3 seconds would answer back nicely.” Keira suggested. ( reply, tactical, Trip , any ) " Shields have static harmonic shift pattern" Ravok yelled out. Sending the shifting pattern to the tactical ststation . The lift silently careened toward her destination, as she thought about what they were going to do. They were almost assuredly were going to see combat, which would be Keira’s first time against a hostile power. They also were headed toward the Badlands a region of space known for it’s constant plasma storms, eddies and currents. She felt the lift rock around her. ~That was quick.~ She silently hoped that she wouldn’t be stuck in the lift for the second time this year. Being trapped once with Dural on Mars was enough for a life time. The doors to the lift opened and she arrived on the bridge. In her head assessing what their condition was. Colors danced through her head. *black - dead or dying, red - those who need immediate help and would not survive without it, yellow - stable for the moment and not in immediate danger, green - walking wounded, those who can wait until the most injured are cared for, and white - those who have minor wounds and don't need a doctors care. "Katie a little help here please" She assisted the doctor with getting the Bolian onto the bed and restraining him. Her mind mulling over his wounds as the doctor spoke to him. She smiled one of 'those' smiles. "I could tie him down if you like Doctor?" Her tone carried with it just a hint of tease as she all but sat on the Bolian. (reply Gabe) "I suggest you stop moving and let us treat you." speaking to the Bolian. "Or ...." she let her sentence go unfinished and hang in the air. Her tone was unmistakable. "There are others I can go treat if you would rather be left in the corner to suffer and possibly die?" She wasn't about to hold back on people who just tried to make her job harder. It made her flow of mind so much easier not to have to wait on things. She strode at her full pace, her long legs carrying her down the corridor at a high pace, the flow of people passing around her focus of concentration. “Gentlemen. Thank you.” She barely broke step. “With me!” (Reply More/Sleeford) They entered the shuttlebay, and Ailynn’s medically trained eye ran instantly across the bay, she stopped and dropped her voice, leaning toward them. “Gents, we have 10 souls that we have recovered from the freighter. We currently have no intel regarding the background of anyone so be on your guard. ‘Trust no one.’ Follow my lead, I have Command, but Medical has Seniority with respect to patient wellbeing; stay a respectful distance, but stay alert. Questions?” She knew that she was being fully intense, she knew that she was full on, but this was her job, and she would not have it go south. Across the bay she saw Vesper, taking Command of his domain, and time was, she’d have been jealous, now though, this wasn’t her anymore, she found herself growing, expanding to her own domain. (Reply More/Sleeford) (Posted by Mark) (USS Exeter – Main Bridge – 2O/CEO – Lieutenant Keira Merek – 1312) Keira hurried onto the bridge turning sideways to go through the lift doors before they had even fully opened. "I guess we have their answer." Trip said as he stumbled back to his chair amidst the firing. "I want all tactical options on the table now." She made a bee-line to the Engineering station in the aft section, and powered it on with a vocal command. Information began pouring in. The power transfers had all went well, performing as expected and designed. The starboard shield had taken a hit and was still holding up. She saw that Ravok had already transferred power to the affected shield to begin it’s regeneration. “We’ve taken a hit on the starboard shield, but she’s holding.” Keira spoke up. “Complete the turn thirty more degrees and that lines us up for a broadside with all three phaser arrays. I think 15 shots in 3 seconds would answer back nicely.” (Reply Tactical, Trip, any on bridge) (Posted by Todd) (USS Exeter - Lower shuttle-bay - Deck 9 – Tac/Sec - Ens. Stan More - 13:06 & 13:12 ) Problems! Stan had been on the verge of speaking to Tiar. When one of the idiots on his team. Already nervous about being in a cramped space. Got spooked and started shooting. More had to duck as a phaser beam nearly hit him. Although nothing alive was hit it did knock out communications. By the time they where reestablished another call came through. “Bracken to Ensigns More and Sleeford. Report immediately to entrance to Sickbay 1. Repeat. Report immediately to entrance to Sickbay 1.” “ On my way ma’am” Stan replied (Reply Sleeford) “Acknowledged, I’m en-route. Meet me at the doorway. Bracken out.” (posted by Norman) (USS Exeter – Shuttlebay 1 – Ens. Stan More - 13:12 ) Stan rushed towards the main shuttle as fast as he could. For some reason the mines had gone off line. No matter how Stan tried to fix the problem. They would not switch on again. He had to go and meet Bracken and Sleeford. “Gentlemen. Thank you.” She barely broke step. “With me!” (Reply Sleeford) “ Yes ma’am “ Stan replied They entered the shuttlebay, and Ailynn’s medically trained eye ran instantly across the bay, she stopped and dropped her voice, leaning toward them. “Gents, we have 10 souls that we have recovered from the freighter. Questions?” Stan shook his head. “ Understood ma’am” Came Stan’s reply. As they moved into the shuttle-bay Stan noticed. The red alert lights where still flashing. Then the ship gave a couple of shakes. Stan had felt those before. Something had fired on the Exeter. But whatever was happening outside. Was not More’s business. At the moment he was backup for Sleeford and Bracken.
