Commander Trip Williams, 3O/CIO, Lt. JG Jaelle Foxglove, Dir. R&SE Ashlyn Williams - 1130) “And there you have it Ash. We’re rushing to go take out a group in which part of the cult is made up of the remnants of the terrorist cell that assassinated your birth father, and wiped out all of his family, except you.” Ashlyn nodded, scared for the first time in a long while. “I know I signed on with the USS Williams for adventure, but bloody hell Trip, marching into the badlands was not the first thing I had in mind.” She’d kept her sense of humour, that was the first sign to herself that this actually didn’t scare her as deeply as it may have done months earlier. “I know that is a lot to take in honey, but we’re going to make sure you are kept safe.” “I know, and I’ll admit, yes I’m scared.” Ashlyn sighed, a rare moment of wordlessness from her. "Trip...I’m scared but not afraid...that make sense? For better or worse yeah?” "I know. Ash, I'm going to assign someone to shadow you. Keep an eye on you. Cover story is that as the captain's wife you're a high profile civilian target. I've not told Lieutenant Foxglove your true identity." She sighed sadly, in her mind she was no more important than any other civilian who’s family, some with newly born children, were now light years away. Here, Ashlyn was surrounded by her everything. “No chatter then.” "What you reveal is entirely up to you. But it won't be a security shadow…." At that moment the bell rung. "Enter." Lieutenant Foxglove walked into the room and Trip motioned for her to sit down." She smiled a greeting at Lieutenant Foxglove. “I’m guessing that’s why Intel are involved?” She turned to Jaelle, “That came out wrong, you should take it how I meant it not how it came out.” She looked towards the Captain's wife. "We are normally involved with more than people care to admit." She waved off any pretense of insult. "Lieutenant, thank you for coming. As I mentioned to you earlier, I'd like for one of your officers to shadow my wife and keep her safe. If the enemy were to discover her identity…. As the captain's wife, they might try and use her as a bargaining Chip." She sighed, "You know, that I know there is more to it than that." Ashlyn shifted in her seat, a thought occurring to her, she cut across the conversation. “Trip, this isn’t my mother's secret any more is it…? It’s mine yes?” Her tone was gentle, but firm, it was like a door had been opened in her mind. "Yes, I'd say it is." He replied. “Then tell her. Tell her what she needs to know.” Ashlyn nodded, smiling gently. “It’s okay T.” Trip handed Jaelle a PADD. "Everything you need to know is on that PADD. Please delete after reading. The terrorist organization that was absorbed into the cult they we are facing is responsible for the assassination of the Bajoran ambassador to Cardassia in 2419. His name was Ronal Ashalan. After Bajor voted to accept Cardassia into the Federation, they swore to eradicate his bloodline. They killed almost all of his family. All but one, Ronal Ashalan’s unborn daughter. No one knew at the time that then Captain Dale Bracken was his mistress or that she was pregnant with his child, conceived a few months before he was killed. For her safety Ash’s birth mother, Dale, gave her up for adoption to keep her safe, and we’ve done our best to preserve the lie. But now, as we come close to our current enemy, well, if her identity got out, it could make matters worse.” Jaelle nodded as she read though the padd taking a few moments for its contents to sink in, "This does make things more complicated but I do have an agent in mind. That I can trust to keep her eyes open and not ask questions." She placed her hands over the Padd and with a few moments of her fingers the padd flickered a few times and then went black. The information that it once held now was held with Jaelle's mind. "I didn't reveal this earlier because it wasn't a matter of mission importance or security. No one could forsee our first mission would involve taking out a group thought gone for a decade. Nor was it my secret to give. But given our current orders, I’d like for you to assign one of your officers to serve as a bodyguard for Ash until the mission is over. Someone incognito, I don’t want anyone knowing she’s being guarded. Don’t want suspicion roused. If anyone asks, its. Because she's the highest profile civilian target. "That is understandable, if it doesn't affect the mission it's not a condition that needs to be addressed but now however it is, and we will." “Thank you for your understanding.” Trip said humbly. Ash nodded, and listened. Jaelle turned to Ashlyn. "Now, I will have someone guarding you. You won't know who it is because I don't want you to be looking for this person. You won't be able to find the agent anyway." She looked back to the Captain. "I will also act as back up to the agent I will assign." “Thank you, but I need you on the bridge and…” She saw the captain go to protest. "I will not take no. I understand my duties and they will get done. But if the worst should happen and my agent can't evac your wife on her own and they do figure out who she is they will make an example out of her and the crew of this ship and I will not stand by doing nothing." Trip sat silently. "Let me do this to give you better peace of mind." She spoke softly. “Thank you.” “Jaelle. Thank you. Look. Carry on with your preparations, but I’d like a conversation with you.” She turned to her husband, and shrugged apologetically. “You know...just us girls.” (Reply none needed) (Posted by Will, Matt L and Mark) (USS Exeter - Deck 13- Operations department - Comm.Ops PO3 Nesha Kervik - 12:19) Nesha walked into the opertions department and walked over to Ensign M'Rurrh. " Sir once we get into the badlands I think it would be a good Idea if we bolster our communications with the two shuttles that are going to launch. Any potential threats could have communication jamming capabilities. Do you have any recommendations?" Nesha asked hoping the Ensign M'Rurrh could provide a more operational insight. ( reply Ensign M'Rurrh) " I do have a rather crazy idea. It's an old method used by us Romulans , but I think it could work. If we could create a communication teather to the shuttles via a series of interwoven frequencies we could flood subspace with with random audio files so any potential threat would have not only have to filter out the nonsense but also pinpoint which frequency we are using ." ( reply M'Rurrh) (posted by Davis-SPC PO3 Nesha Kervik (USS Exeter - Main Shuttlebay - CMO - Ens Gabe Vesper - 1309) "I could tie him down if you like Doctor?" Her tone carried with it just a hint of tease as she all but sat on the Bolian. "Maybe not the best idea just yet Katie" Gabe laughed helping to position the Bolian and allowing Katie to conduct her scans. Gabe allowed Katie to take control of the situation and once settled moved onto his patient. (Reply Jamison iyw) (Posted by Mat) (USS Exeter - Main Shuttlebay – Nurse – CPO – Ewan McDonald- 1311) It was controlled chaos in the shuttle bay as Ewan looked around. The survivors of the freighter were disoriented and shell shocked to suddenly find themselves on Starfleet vessel. "Nurse McDonald, clear the rest of triage." “Yes Doctor.” He glanced around to see a woman crouched against the wall of the shuttle bay who had been ignored by the other members of the medical team due to her not being uncooperative. He quickly moved over to her. “Hallo my name is Ewan what’s your name.” She paused and then looked up at him. He realised that she was Bajorna and a lot younger than he had originally suspected. “My name is Keria.” He gave a reassuring smile as he crouched down beside her. “Hallo Keria. My name is Ewan I am a nurse and we are on the USS Exeter. Are you in any pain?” She shook her head. “Are you hurt at all?” She pulled out her hand which had a nasty laceration across it. There was as cry of anger from one of the other people from the freighter and he saw her flinch. “Keria. Do you want to come with me to sickbay? Its only down the corridor and it’s a lot quieter there. I can have a look at your hand if you want?” She nodded again and he smiled back as he held out a hand which she took. He gave the shuttle bay one last look around to make sure that things were in hand and then ushered Keria out of the shuttle bay. “We are just down the corridor we will be there in a moment.” (Reply any) (Posted by Robbie)(SPC Ewan McDonald) (USS Exeter - Bridge - CO, Lt. Commander Trip Williams - 13:12) “The Sabre’s shields are operating on a rotating frequency. If we can predict that rotation, we can adjust out phasers to match and take them out.” The science officer spoke up. Before Trip could say anything, Ravok chimed in. " Shields have a static harmonic shift pattern" Ravok yelled out. Sending the shifting pattern to the tactical ststation . "Alright, Foxglove, you've got a link, see what you can do about disrupting their shield harmonics. Also see if you can't monitor any outgoing or incoming communications." (reply Foxglove) “We’ve taken a hit on the starboard shield, but she’s holding.” Keira spoke up. “Complete the turn thirty more degrees and that lines us up for a broadside with all three phaser arrays. I think 15 shots in 3 seconds would answer back nicely.” "Thank you Lieutenant, see if you can't boost shields strength to cover our broadside as we line up our shots. We don't want to be too exposed." (reply Merek) "Mr. Williams, you heard Lt. Merek, Complete a 30 degree turn, so all our phaser arrays are inline." (reply Ire) "Ensign Dareshaa, I want you target phasers on the Saber, be relentless, modifying frequency to match their harmonics. Also, go ahead and power up the Dark matter phaser array. Don't fire them yet. I'd prefer they surrender, but if they see what they are facing. They might be more likely to stand down." (reply Dareshaa) "FIRE!!!" (Reply Dareshaa) Trip waited for the phaser bursts to hit their target. The Saber seemed to still be standing. "Mr. Ravok, damage report." (reply Ravok) (reply Ravok, Williams, Merek, Dareshaa, any) (posted by Will) (USS Exeter - Bridge - Chief Tactical Officer Ensign Dareshaa - 1313) The QSD was deactivated, but the yellow alert remained as they reached their destination. Upon their arrival it was noticed immediately that a Saber class vessel matching the intelligence report was attacking a civilian freighter. The Commander moved the Exeter closer to gain transport capabilities, as well as wanting a Red Alert minus the shields for transport success. "Yes sir," Dareshaa said as she easily gave the Commander what he desired. Her fingers gracefully moved over her board expertly. Any remaining survivors on the freighter was beamed over to the Exeter. Unfortunately, the personnel in the Saber class ship had already beamed a few individuals from the freighter to their ship. As the transport was complete on the Exeter Dareshaa raised the shields. Dareshaa not looking at her console, but activating buttons as she watched the viewscreen she witnessed the destruction of the freighter. A call for a firing solution from the Commander. Dareshaa delivered again, but waited for orders. First, as usual in Starfleet, the CO attempted to make contact with the enemy. In this case, the enemy answered with targeting and firing on the Exeter. Ire maneuvered the ship perfectly, and used the ordered Gamma pattern. This opened an opportunity for Dareshaa to fire, and she did. However, most of the shot was absorbed by the Saber class shields. At that moment Lieutenant Cortez shared that the Saber class shields were operating on a rotating frequency and she felt this could be used to their advantage if they could predict the rotation correctly. Lieutenant Merek also opinioned her thoughts that 15 shots at 3 seconds would make them triumphant. Dareshaa agreed but only if they were able to determine the shield's frequency. Luckily Lieutenant Ravok was able to find a pattern and sent the crucial information over to tactical. "Rotating frequency pattern received. Thank you Lieutenant Ravok. Phaser fire is ready," Dareshaa informed the bridge crew. "FIRE!!!" Commander Williams ordered. Dareshaa commanded the Exeter to execute the order. The stream of damaging energy shot from the Exeter's weapons systems and nearly every phaser fire hit the enemy ship even if it was for a second before the shield frequency switched. There was no explosion, as Dareshaa expected, but Dareshaa was confident her abilities at least disabled the Saber class ship. The bridge crew then waited for a damage report from the Chief Operations Officer. (reply Ravok, any) (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Exeter - Bridge - Chief Opertions Officer Lieutenant jg Ravok- 1314) " Mr. Ravok, Damage report" Trip inquired. Ravok quickly scanned the saber and the Exeter's systems. " Their forward Shields are down to 24 percent and their hull has suffered significant damage, hull breaches on decks 2 and 3. Their forcefields are holding. They managed to fire two shots at our starboard shields. Starboard shields at 90 percent." Ravok answered . The Exeter's starboard shields had recharged to nearly full but two poorly aimed phaser blast brought shields down once again to 90 percent. ( reply , Trip) " Sir , they are transferring auxiliary power to their engines. " Ravoks eyes widened. " They can't be serious...." He exclaimed in disbelief. "Ok I'll indulge, what happened?" "Well, when we were attacked, I was in the jeffries tubes, taking a nap. I should have been working, but I was napping instead, so I was laying down and strapped in, because I always buckle myself in when I nap in the jeffries tubes. Just in case." She wasn't about to hold back on people who just tried to make her job harder. Rolan tried to speak, but was having difficulty. His throat was in pain as if something had crushed it. it was becoming hard for him to even make a sound. His eyes reflected his situation of confusion, inability to speak, and as he scanned around seeing who was in the shuttlebay with him, who if any made it out, fear. He tried his best to sign to the doctor in front of him that he was having difficulty making sound. He kept pointing at his larynx. (reply Jamison) Finally he pointed at himself, trying to symbolize the word, I. Then he shook his head side to side as if to say no. Then took his right hand and made a motion as if his hand was talking. Hopefully the doctor would see he was trying to say, "I can't speak," (reply Jamison) (reply Jamison, any medical, Bracken and company) (posted by Will) (USS Exeter - Bridge – CFO – Lieutenant- Ire Williams - 13:17) Ire fired the manoeuvring thrusters to keep the as much of the Exeter’s phaser arrays in view of the Saber as possible. It was a fast ship being able to dart out of the line of fire but he was keeping up. "Mr. Williams, you heard Lt. Merek, Complete a 30 degree turn, so all our phaser arrays are inline." “Yes Captain turning 30 degrees.” He fired the thrusters in sequence as the Saber turned starboard sharply. He knew that chasing the Saber around space would be futile so he turned the Exeter so that they were broadside on so that the Saber and Exeter made a T shape with the Exeter being the top of the T and the Saber was line as it moved away from them. ~Okay we are in place~ The ventricle and dorsal thrusters fired rolling the Exeter on its side and presenting all its phasers arrays as it rotated around. "FIRE!!!" He was the phaser hits strike out from the Exeter and hit the Saber. It shuddered under the impact but was still intact when the phaser fire stopped. ~Okay lest get you~ He put the Exeter into a tight turn pulling her around so that they would catch up with the Saber before it could do anything crazy. She helped him lie back as her eyes roamed over the readings from the tricorder. He had burns to his head, neck and shoulders and knew whatever had caused them, had probably cause burning to his throat. She picked up a deep tissue scanner and began running it over his injuries, taking her time to remedy his problem. His throat and inability to breath well her first priority. The were a lot slower than the Saber so he needed to get the timing right. ~Okay right or left, up or down side……lets go down the left side~ Ire watched the range to the Saber spool down faster and faster. ~Nearly there~ He dropped the front of the Exeter into a slight dive so that it looked like they would go under the Saber. "Alright, Ire, Evasive patterns now, Dareshaa fire at normal phaser arrays at will!" He paused for a split seconds seeing if the Saber would take his bate and grinned to himself as the Saber began to dive aiming for the front of the Exeter in its kamikaze dive. “Yes Captain hang on.” ~closer, closer….now~ Ire pushed all the ventral thrusters that ran along the bottom the ship past their safety limits. He was doing a vector thrust manoeuvre that was common in fighters which would launch them over the top of their target in preparation for a hard turn to get on target. His fingers paused over the console as he had set all the plan into action and had to wait to see if he had timed it right. He watched his display as the Exeter lurched up with all its thrusters firing at maximum. ~Come on~ He Saber dropped below them and the range to the Saber began to spool up. ~Ow that was far too close. Commander Trip Williams and COO, Lt. JG Ravok– 1333) Ire was as good as advertised, the Exter was able to avoid the rammig attempt of the Enemy Saber class, they were through unscathed, but the problem was that the Saber was still critically damaged, but desperate, and that made them more dangerous than ever. "Mr. Ravok open a channel." " Channel open Sir." Ravok Replied. "Enemy Saber class, stand down. We don't want to harm or hurt you. Surrender. We promise that we will treat you well in our custody and you will receive a fair trial." Trip was tempted to lower the shields and beam the crew of the Saber over, as her shields were down and she was exposed. But Trip knew the moment he dropped the Exeter's shields, without guarantee of surrender, the Saber would do her best to reign hell upon the Exeter. Silence, the enemy refused to respond once again. "As Federation Citizens, you are protected by every provision of the Federation Charter. You have nothing to fear. Stand down." =/\=No.=/\= The commander of the opposing ship finally spoke. =/\=We reject you, the prophets, and your Federation. We are not afraid to die. We will resist.=/\= The channel was then closed by the enemy commander. ~I was hoping it wouldn't have to come to death.~ Trip thought to himself. Ravok continued his relentless scans of the Saber, he noticed they were rerouting all remaining power to their tractor beam. He gave Ire a look as if to let him know to get ready to punch it. " Sir they are placing all remaining power to their tractor beam" Ravok said addressing Trip. "Ire, get us to a safe distance. Now, punch it!" Trip ordered. (reply Ire) The saber focused virtually all its power to its tractor beam and locked onto the Exeter. The tractor beam made the ship shake slightly. " They have us in their tractor beam and they have initiated their self destruct sequence." He yelled out knowing the enemy was planning on taking them down as well. The Saber inched closer as her self-destruct sequence began powering up. Trip knew that if they stayed locked in, if the Saber could make its way closer with the self destruct on, the Exeter would be in grave danger. Trip didn't want to take lives, but he had to choose between his crew and the peaceful solution. He wasn't willing to see his crew be seriously damaged or killed just because he wanted a less bloody solution. He owed his crew the duty to protect their lives whatever it took. Which is why he knew he needed to be the one to pull the trigger. It wasn't just enough to give the order. He wasn't going to let Ensign Dareshaa have the weight of those lives on her head. He quickly transferred control to the Dark matter phasers to his console. "Ravok, how many life signs on the Saber?" Ravok scanned the life signs of the crew on the saber " 42 life signs detected, all Bajoran" Trip sighed and mumbled under his breath. "Where is resistance getting you? Is losing your life when it's unnecessary really worth it?" He kept hearing the enemy commanders voice in his head. Repeating over and over, we will resist. Trip closed his eyes. ~Can't they see? Can't they see the truth? That sometimes, sometimes, resistance is futile.~ Trip targeted the Saber and fired. The Dark Matter phasers struck true on the Saber and absolutely ripped the Saber to shreds. The debris floated there, lifeless in space. Trip transferred controls back to tactical and stood up, he was doing his best not to appear visibly shaken. "Ensign Dareshaa, Stand down Red alert, activate yellow alert." (Reply Trip) She nodded and walked out of the ready room and into the turbo lift. (posted by Jackie) (USS Exeter - Ready room - CO Lt Commander Trip Williams -1344) Trip sat silently. It wasn't the first time he had taken a life or fired on an enemy. There had been plenty of times that he had shot down enemy fighters while leading the Fighter Wing. But that was in the heat of combat, this, this was different. He tried everything he could to get the ship to surrender. But he had 400 crew on board and about 70 civilians. He had to keep them safe and he made the best decision he could to save the lives that were entrusted to his care. Still, taking a moment for silence to reflect and mourn the fallen. It was his routine. "Sir?" Trip looked up and saw that Erin had walked into the room. ~I guess some people don't believe in knocking.~ Trip thought to himself as he silently rubbed his eyes. "What can I do for you Cortez?" "I'm not going to be trite and ask if you are okay because we both know that you're not." "Okay?" "I'm sorry if I am speaking out of place, Sir." "Cortez, you're a good officer, but I'm fine. This isn't the first time I've had to take down an enemy combatant. Just need some silent time. Reset." Turning, Erin walked to the door and stopped, "You know what I went through in the last year. You know that I understand the weight of your choices and how much it can play on you." Trip just sat silently. "I met a man, whilst I was away. On earth. My father took me to see him. He was a medicine man. A tribal leader and he told me something that stuck with me. He said that there was a time of the night called the hour of the wolf. Around 3 am when you wake up for no reason and all the decisions you have made in your life, all the people you hurt or wronged begin to haunt you. I've been there. I have seen that. "What I am trying to say, Sir, is that I found a way to cope with the bad I did… the bad he made me do. I tend to be awake at that time so, if you ever find yourself in that hour, come find me. Do what you need to do to get the job done but don't shut yourself off from your family. I did and it nearly ruined me. Take my advice." "Cortez, don't worry, my would kill me before I shut myself off from her. "I should go. Ravok will have my head if I am late and someone needs to make sure Ire doesn't crash one of our shuttles." She smiled. Trip smiled gently. He appreciated the gesture, though the situations were more apples and oranges. She had been hijacked, but she thankfully never had to take a life under the control of Gul Dulon. Still it was nice that she cared enough to check on him. The hard call was something he had gotten used to as CO of the Fighter Wing, something he would continue to have to do as CO of the Exeter. While sad, he knew he would be ok, there were still three more ships lurking in the badlands. He would have to make that call again. Taking a life would never be easy. He hoped it never became easy. Life was precious. He sat in silence for a few more moments and then returned to the bridge. As he did so he rubbed the back of his neck where his implant was located. But he felt his feelings should be heard. “Ensign More, if there are any ‘offending persons I want to be able to speak to them afterward without having to carry out a seance. Non-lethal shots, restraint tactics. That is to be considered a standing order.” She turned to him. “My apologies for being blunt. It avoids confusion.” Stan wondered if she would still say that. If her so called ‘ offending person ‘ picked up a laser scalpel and cut a gash into her thigh. But decided to be tactful. “ Understood “ He said flatly. (Reply Sleeford) He listened as they talked about the suspicious patient. Stan stood back his hand just resting where his phaser nestled in its holder. The discussion turned into en argument between the XO and Nix. Usually Stan got on well with Bajorans. He spent some of his early years on Bajor. When his parents had been on an archaeological dig. But today he met one he was beginning not to like. "I expect that from you the two dynamite brothers," Nix said as he stood up and looked Sleefor and More in the eyes. "Do you two think I'm a threat." He knew once it was out of his mouth. The XO would be cross with him. But Nix was really beginning to annoy Stan. “ Believe me Mr Nix. (Reply Ravok, Erin, Ire) (Posted by Mat) (USS Exeter – Shuttlebay - CSO Lt JG Erin Cortez -1347) Walking into the shuttle bay, Erin took a deep breath, smiled at the two men, "Once more into the breach?" (Reply Trip, Ravok, Adala, any) (Posted by Jackie) (USS Exeter – Shuttlebay- COO Lieutenant jg Ravok -1348) "well, here we are." Janey said to them Ravok nodded his head as he walked over to a storage tote next to the shuttle ge would shortly be occupying and opened it up. Inside was his flight suit , he thought he'd never wear it again. He pulled it out and quickly removed his uniform and boots and got into his flight suit. The shoulders of the suit were red " Wrong color " he remarked with a nervous laugh. " But for our little mission, I'm only a pilot" ( reply Ire, janey, erin if you want ) He bent down closed the lid of the storage tote and stood backup. He saw that janey was already in her flight suit and Ire was already suiting up himself. An awkward silence filled the shuttle bay. Ravok noticed that Erin had stepped around to the side of the shuttle to change in private . He heard was struggling slightly. Erin was not accustomed to dawning a flight suit they could be tricky. He walked over to her. " I got you, he said placing his hands and the waist of the flight suit and pulled up on them firmly and jerked her entire body forward. ( reply Erin) " Sorry " he said with a smile and adjusted her shoulders. ( reply Erin.) After she finished placing her boots on he looked at her and just stared for a moment. Not knowing if this would be the last time they'd see each other he had a million things he wanted to say , but also didn't want to worry her. He reached his arms around her and embraced her in a hug he kissed her on the cheek and squeezed her tight. " jol-ao au, Rinam { I love you , sister.} " ( reply Erin) " Dont worry, dispute all the rumors and jokes . Ire is the best pilot. That's why your with him and not me. " ( Reply Erin) He smiled at her once more." When we get back, if Keira doesn't kill me. I have a bottle of Tequila with your name all over it." He said as he patted her the shoulder. Ravok turned his attention to Ire. He walked over to him . " I have a favor to ask" ( reply Ire) " I have a messages recorded, but if we both make it back I need you to help with fighting off our women when they both collectively try killing me" Ravok said laughing. ( reply Ire) " Good Luck man, see you soon." Ravok said. ( reply Ire ) Ravok shook Ires hand and walked over to the shuttle. He walked up to Janey. " I know I dont need to ask you so I wont . I will just assume your ready" He said laughing. ( reply Janey) " Then let's go." He responded and walked inside the shuttle. Taking his seat on the left hand side of the cockpit he powered up the shuttle. He began running preflight diagnostics. He paused for a moment collecting his thoughts and then nodded to himself. He then turned to the monitor in front of him. “Computer begin recording.” He saw his face appear on the screen. [Recording] “Dear Greta……..If you are seeing this then I did not make it. I hope that the others got back okay and we were able to achieve our mission……….I am not really good at doing this…… I love you and you mean the world to me and I am so sorry that I cannot be there with you. I still can’t believe how lucky I am to have spent this time with you however fleeting. I cherish every second of every day that we have had together ………Now the next bit is important. You will find someone else to share your life with in the future and I know you will because you are a wonderful person. I know that you don’t feel it now but you will be happy again and I want you to be happy. I don’t want you to be sad and alone for the rest of your days. I want you to be out there enjoying life and meeting new people and having new experiences showing people the amazing, lively, caring, person that I know that you are……………I guess what I am trying to say is that I love you will every fibre of my being. You are with me always. I love you. I will always love you. You are forever in my heart.” He brought his finger to his lips and then pressed them against the screen. He tried to give a reassuring smile as he knew that this would be the last thing Greta would see of him. “Computer End Recording. Upload the file to the main computer to be assessed by Greta Smith on the conformation of my death.” [Confirmed] He took a deep breath forcing his mind to quieten focusing on the mission ahead. He turned and headed for the shuttle bay. (Reply any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Exeter - Main Shuttlebay - aCTO - Ens Paul Sleeford - 1350) Following Bracken and More into the shuttle bay, biting his tongue at the doctors comments, he knew that vesper was only locking after his patients best interests but Sleeford just hoped that one of those from the damaged ship, didn't grab a nurse and a scalpel or worse. Ailynn nodded. “Okay. Keep me posted about the burn victims and let me know about the Bolian. Tell me about this Bajoran, is he trying to tell you he has something or that he hasn’t?” Gabe sighed "he says he was strapped into the Jefferies tube sleeping with the battle was on, however, there isn't any signs of trauma around his waist where a strap would have been, either he is incredibly lucky or he's not being truthful" “Okay. I need to start somewhere, might as well be with our Bajoran friend. He’s arguing the toss, that tells me he’d normally be discharged with prejudice? Nothing actually wrong, put him in a side section, I’ll look him over and chat him up.” She caught her Brother’s gaze. “Look, If he thinks I’m a different kind of Doctor it’ll play him into thinking he’s getting what he wants, which is attention. On top of that it forces him to play our game, which I’m rather good at, also frees you up to deal with those that actually need attention.” "He's over there, bed four. His scans are on the screen." “Let the Security come in with me, I can keep them out your way, and you need a semblance of a presence here even if you don’t like it. Helping the sick and injured is all very altruistic, but Gabe...we know none of these people’s histories.” Rubbing the small ridges on his nose Gabe looked up and along at the two security officers', then back to the room and finally to Ailynn "ok, they can go with you but keep them out the way" Gabe turned to the security officers "this is a sickbay, not an armoury, treat it as such" Sleeford looked at the doctor and sighed, he was getting a little pissed off with the attitude. Vesper was the kind of man that would shout for the security department to be disbanded and in the next breath shout for help when someone went on the rampage. Sleeford knew it was an experience that most Sec tac officers went through, they where expendable, something they all knew from the off. "Do you need me Ailynn?" Sleeford smiled as More answered the doctor before him and held back the laughter as the First Officer answered. “Doctor I fully understand your misgivings about us being here. I can assure you I will only react if needed. Then only to render the offending person. In a condition that will stop them hurting you or your people. But will not be untreatable should they incur additional injuries.” “Ensign More, if there are any ‘offending persons I want to be able to speak to them afterward without having to carry out a séance. Non-lethal shots, restraint tactics. That is to be considered a standing order.” She turned to him. “My apologies for being blunt. It avoids confusion.” Sleeford lost the smile. "Understood ma'am, let's hope any assailants use no lethal shots and restraining tactic as well, if not it's gonna get messy very quickly." “Doctor Vesper. If your expertise is needed elsewhere, then please don’t wait for dismissal. You know my feelings on this issue, this is your domain. If you’re able to be around for our Bajoran friend however, that might grease the wheels.” "Right now I'm fine with you, it seems under control enough." Sleeford watched as the doctor move so he could see the entire space and his people. “Understood. We need to play him, introduce me as another Doctor, but don't give my position or name.” "The red might give it away, Dr Bracken, I'll do the necessary." Turning to move Gabe smiled a little at everyone. Ailynn briefly raised a single eyebrow. She knew that Gabe knew her. She knew that He knew what she was suggesting, and didn’t need to say much more. "Your thoughts on him?" "I just don't trust him, he's either very stupid, very lucky, or hiding something." Ailynn nodded a thanks. “Gentlemen, with me” She spoke to the two security Officers. “Relaxed space behind me, if you see a Doctor moving between bays, let them by in front of you. If you see a nurse moving around, with a tray, or a medkit, take a step back and let them by. This, Gentlemen, is a Hospital at the moment. You have my apologies if this sounds like I’m treading down on you, but we have a very tight line to sail. Do I have your understanding?” She looked at them, realising that she wasn’t keen on this part of herself, but that it was a simple extension of her surgical persona merely extended to general Command. “Now, on my signal, be ready, don’t make it look like your being ready though.” Sleeford looked at More and shrugged. ~Now how the heck are we supposed to do that, Oh well off we go ~ As they walked, and Vesper accompanied them, they eventually reached the bay that the Bajoran was being kept in, stepped inside, Vesper at her side, the two security officers standing aft. “Good afternoon...Forgive me...Mr..." "Tyko Nix." The Bajoran said a bit meekly. He was a bit on edge. He was concussed, confused, and now it seemed like a command officer being flanked by two security officers was separating him from the rest of the pack." "Of course. Now what seems to be the issue...Gentlemen?" "This is Dr Bracken, she's one of our surgeons and more of an expert on, head injuries than I am, I thought it might be useful for her to see you." "Uh huh." Nix said not believing it. "I wish I could believe that Doctor, but I don't think it's Starfleet Protocol to isolate a patient with a command officer and security detail unless they thought they were a threat." (reply Vesper) Nix then looked at the First Officer. "I know the drill. You don't trust me." (reply Bracken) "The raiders are Bajoran, I'm Bajoran, what you think I'm some kind of sleeper agent. That I'm going to get up and attack you. Or maybe that's just the concussion talking. But I can't help but see that I'm the only survivor being given this treatment." (reply Bracken) "I expect that from you the two dynamite brothers," Nix said as he stood up and looked Sleeford and More in the eyes. "Do you two think I'm a threat." “ Believe me Mr Nix. If I thought that of you you’d be on the floor out cold drooling into a puddle of your own saliva” More replied. Looking at More then to Nix, Sleeford bared his teeth slightly, "Mr Nix. If I thought for one second you where dangerous to the ship and crew I'd forget my instructions and toss you out the nearest airlock" "I expect this treatment from them, but I thought a doctor would be above this sort of treatment." (reply Vesper) Sleeford glared at the Bajoran, "Mr Nix. Doctor Vesper's mandate doesn't include protecting the ship and crew, mine does. He can fix you up afterwards if he likes. Now for someone who complains he's innocent, you know a lot about Starfleet procedures. " Realising that he'd just dropped himself up to his neck Sleeford stepped back to the doorway and faced the opposite wall, because he was getting close to landing a fist on the chin of Nix. " I have a favor to ask" He looked up to see Ravok and smiled. “Sure what can I do for you?” " I have a messages recorded, but if we both make it back I need you to help with fighting off our women when they both collectively try killing me" Ire smiled as Ravok laughing. “You do realise that we are both dead don’t you. Especially as your dearly beloved has armed my dearly beloved with a bladed weapon. If we survive this I think we will be needing a trip to sickbay or the isolation unit in security.” " Good Luck man, see you soon." Ire nodded. “See you on the other side.” Ravok shook Ires hand and Ire watched as Ravok walked over to his shuttle.
