He walked up to the table and rested his refreshment on it. He was still in the process of waking up and was a bit surprised that he had himself together enough to put on a uniform instead of his coveralls that he preferred to wear when off duty. He was nervous to sit in the chair. He knew how comfortable those chairs could be. He knew he was risking falling asleep in the chair during the meeting if he sat in it. (Reply: any) “Hmm? Sorry sir: I’m afraid I might fall back to sleep if I sit down.” The Ops guy said with a smirk as he snickered at himself. (Reply any who wish) (NRPG: This is something I have really done in the military. Its okay to laugh at Tamblyn) Charles turned his focus toward the captain and XO, “Sir, Ma’am; if y’all are okay with it, I will just stand for the time being.” He said before taking a bite of his donut. (Reply: Sekal, Williams-Verin) (Reply: Sekal, Williams-Verin, any who wish) (Posted by Charlie) (USS Illimunar -- Conference Room -- Deck 1 -- CMO Lt. J.G. Quinna Solice -- 0125) Quinna sat back in the meeting. She made notes on her PADD. It sounded like the crew went through an experience that she herself missed out on. Quinna how the XO all of a sudden had powers. She reflected on the brief request of the XO. "Quinna? I need to have you make a house call after the meeting, please." “Of course” Quinna had replied being just as discrete. Now Quinna started putting the pieces together. Alyl got up next. He discussed how he was transformed into his younger self. Then he mentioned his own death. Quinna was surprised that the next up would be Ariel Trei. Quinna made note to meet with Trei as soon as she could. Steps needed to be made that Quinna did not want to do. She hoped Trei would understand in the end. Quinna noticed how all three had issues with being transformed. Though Ayly and Trei were transformed by Q but only in that Q reality for lack of a better word. Sienna’s transformation spilled out to this reality. She was anxious to hear more stories to see if they fit the same pattern. (Played By Kris) (USS Illuminar - Deck 1, Conference Room - ACEO, Ens(sg) Vex'ahlia Jordaan - 0135) Stifling a yawn and paying as much attention as possible to the stories being told, Vex sat at the table commenting back and forth with Luma in regards to them. Q seemed to have had quite the impact on most people in the room. Carson cleared his throat beside her and went on to tell the room that Q had taunted him about certain losses in the past and continued to infer that they would be walking into a mystery of equal size on Bajor. Watching him intently as she did, she could feel the concern just emanating off him. Since she was directly next to him once he finished speaking she looked to Sekal and said, "I was pulled into a conversation Q was having with Luma. He showed me my parents dead in front of me and was trying to subvert Luma and mine's relationship." (Reply any in the room) She could feel Carson looking at her, reading her in the way only he could. ::Luma and I need to speak with yourself, the Captain and Lieutenant Peters after the meeting.:: she projected to Sienna as she typed a similar private message to the Captain and Carson using a padd she had on her. (Reply any in the room, Sienna, Sekal) (Posted by Jono Bradley - Vex'ahlia Jordaan) (USS Illuminar - Deck 1, Conference Room - CO, Lieutenant Commander Sekal- 0142) The experiences of those officers and crew that had been exposed to the less than tender ministrations of the being known as Q were completed. Some had withheld their experiences in whole or in part due to the personal nature of them. And as noted he would Sekal spoke last. "My encounter with the being known as Q was unusual not to mention illogical and had multiple components. In the first phase he quite expansively and thoroughly addressed an issue concerning the newly developed warp drive engine. It is this upon which I have based my theory that the use of it was what originally caught his attention. In the second part he insisted that I bear witness to a fantasy of one of my officers." In order to maintain the anonymity of that officer he did not give a name. "In the third act I was introduced to someone not of this crew, an Ensign Janice Hammerfield who is currently stationed in Bajoran space and claimed to be interested in a transfer. I checked on this individual before the meeting and found out that she does exist and that a transfer to Illuminar has already been approved before the fact, no doubt due to the manipulations of Q." He drank the last of the juice. "The last part was immediately before he returned me to the ship. An exhortation for me to allow the imagination of my officers to grow and evolve." He paused and looked about the room. "Q's methods are documented to be sometimes overt and sometimes cryptic. In this case it would seem the latter more than the former." His gaze settled on the two science officers present. "Mr. Alyl I will expect you to follow up your experience with a Counselor. The same with Lieutenant Verin." He then looked at Taya who had so far remained silent. "And you as well Ensign." His eyes returned to Jaton "In addition I am assigning the science department consisting of Alyl and Stennin to consider the puzzle presented as to Q's motives and attempt to divine his intent." He stood to his feet. "This meeting is adjourned." (Reply: Alyl, Stennin, any) (Posted by Charles G) (USS Illuminar - Deck 1, Conference Room - ASCRD Ensign Stennin - 0143) Stennin listened attentively to the words of all the officers. He himself had been deep in meditation, and would probably not have noticed a visit from Q. Let alone if he would have recognised him. The enigmatic man appeared to be quite amused with terrorizing the crew. He was most illogical and erratic. But undoubtedly, this was a result of his apparent omnipotence. He listened as Sekal went last to speak of his experiences. My encounter with the being known as Q was unusual not to mention illogical and had multiple components. In the first phase he quite expansively and thoroughly addressed an issue concerning the newly developed warp drive engine." Stennin tapped his chin for a moment. It would be logical to deduce that Q had some problems with any rapid expansion that Starfleet would endeavour. It was apparently one of his tasks. "It is this upon which I have based my theory that the use of it was what originally caught his attention. In the second part he insisted that I bear witness to a fantasy of one of my officers." Stennin rose a brow. He had no desire to know whose fantasies Sekal witnessed, nor what they were. But it was quite a specific musing for Q to do such a thing. "In the third act I was introduced to someone not of this crew, an Ensign Janice Hammerfield who is currently stationed in Bajoran space and claimed to be interested in a transfer. I checked on this individual before the meeting and found out that she does exist and that a transfer to Illuminar has already been approved before the fact, no doubt due to the manipulations of Q." Stennin rose his brows again. The transfer had some ulterior motives, or so it appeared. But whether or not Hammerfield was a tool in Q's game, or if she acted on her own motivations, was not certain yet. "The last part was immediately before he returned me to the ship. An exhortation for me to allow the imagination of my officers to grow and evolve." Stennin was unsure if Sekal believed that part to be a reassuring one. But he was quite certain that Sekal had no emotions in the matter, even though Q had been able to even stir Vulcans to emotions. "Q's methods are documented to be sometimes overt and sometimes cryptic. In this case it would seem the latter more than the former." Stennin nodded fervently. Q was not only illogical, but also quite an uninvited guest. "Mr. Alyl I will expect you to follow up your experience with a Counselor. The same with Lieutenant Verin." He then looked at Taya who had so far remained silent. "And you as well Ensign." Stennin looked at the two officers Sekal mentioned. Especially Taya appeared to be quite shaken, if that was the correct term. "In addition I am assigning the science department consisting of Alyl and Stennin to consider the puzzle presented as to Q's motives and attempt to divine his intent." Stennin rubbed his chin for a second. He was unsure what Sekal meant by 'considering the puzzle', but Jaton certainly would give some insight. Q was an enigma, but there was always a lesson to be learned. (Reply Jaton, All) (Written by Yoerik van Heugten) (USS Illuminar - Conference Room - ACOUNS ACMO ENS SG Ariel Trei - 01.45) After all the experiences with the Q were reported, it was suggested that Sienna, Taya, and one she didn't know yet make an appointment for counseling. As Chief Counselor it would be good to get to know the one she didn't know that well. She stood up and made the offer to come by around 13.00 for anyone that needed to talk. "Come by my office at 13.00 to talk. I can space the sessions from there." (Reply Any) (Posted by Edward) (Bajor – Dahkur Province – A little inn at the base of the Kola Mountains- Ops, Ensign Dieter Gregory -20:00) Gregory stood outside of the small inn that was recommended to him, “The Alvas” with a sign that looked like a cluster of Earth-like grapes. They were one of the fresh fruits that Gregory loved to eat when he could get them. Sweet, juicy and just a bit of tart that you could pop in your mouth. Opening the door, he saw an open room, wooden tables and chairs arranged in small groups. A few people, mostly Bajorian’s looked up as he entered and made his way to the desk. “Welcome friend, I hope the Prophets have made your journey uneventful,” the man said. “Thank you. I am Dieter Gregory, I’ve a room reserved,” the man replied. “Yes, indeed. My name is Eshu Zukeco, the owner of this fine in. We have a nice room for you. Planning to climb the mountain?” “Thank you Eshu, I am.” replied Gregory. “Come, I will show you to your room, and perhaps you will join us tonight before you go. We have an excellent bottle of Springwine to share, from the kava grown on the Emissary’s own lands.” The room was plain, but functional. A bed, a chair and private bath were all he needed. As Gregory deposited his pack in the corner, he heard a beep from his tricorder. Opening it, he say three messages from Murdok, with the last one marked urgent. He scanned the message, and looked at the most recent data, more Omicron radiation, from the same region of space. Murdok had traced it further and noted that it was approaching the station, although the field strength dropped to background around 10,000 kilometers. Torn between the puzzle and the chance to have some Springwine, Gregory closed the tricorder. He’d think about the problem more, but he was off duty and a freeclimb waited for him. He splashed some water on his face and headed back down. As Gregory entered the room, he heard one of the men remark “It is happening again. Just like in my grandparent’s day. We keep finding pockets of poisoned land, over 75 years since the occupation and we can’t get any more soil reclimators.” Sitting down, a glass of spring wine was put in front of him. He lifted the glass up to admire the translucent blue color of the liquid. Taking a sip, he closed his eyes and let his brain process the taste of the smooth, slightly sweet liquid. Hints of orange and grapefruit filled his palette. Opening his eyes, he smiled at his host. “This is most excellent, I am honored to share this with you.” “A human with appreciation of Springwine is hard to find in Dahkur,” said one of the strangers. “You come from the station?” “Yes, I have been there for the last three quarters of a year. I leave on a starship in the next week,” Gregory replied. “Vreka here,” Eshu pointed at a young man, “Was just telling us about the latest find of poisoned land. The Cardassians were horrible to our province, and we still find pockets of their evil to this day.” “That’s right, “ Vreka replied, “We are still trying to grow our own food, but it’s a hard life as a farmer, and when these poisons leach into your fields, they cause irreparable damage. We need more reclimators to clean the soil. Don’t suppose that you could get Star Fleet to send some?” Gregory shook his head. While the problem was not a difficult one, on a small scale. To make, deploy and maintain enough industrial size reclimators was the job of a team of engineers with dedicated terraforming skills. “I am sorry, sir. I am just an ensign, with little power and voice. My chief had me cleaning waste reclimators for the past week.” “An honest day’s work is rewarded as the building block to a spiritual life,” said another Bajorian. “May I?” he asked as he reached out to Gregory’s ear. Nodding, Gregory felt the man grasp his left ear and close his eyes. “Your Pagh is strong, young man. May the Prophets guide you on your journey.” Another one of the crowd chuckled, “Brother Holk is the leader of our small monastery and always looking out for our needs. Perhaps when you have become a Captain, young Ensign, you will remember this night and return to this place to help us with our problems. Its not like the government will listen to us. They’d rather keep Rakantha and Kendra Providences clean and growing the cash crops that we export.” Gregory took another sip of the wine and wondered what it all meant. He knew of the Pagh, living on DS9, it’s hard to not get an education in the Bajorian religion. Science and numbers were his religion. They made sense, they were something you could understand. Pagh and prophets made no sense, but Starfleet drummed into its people to respect all religions. “I will remember this night Brother Holk. I will return to help when I can,” Gregory found himself saying. “Good young man. You have a long journey tomorrow; may the Prophets guide you.” Gregory finished the Springwine and wandered back to his room while the men continued to talk into the night. Laying down and closing his eyes, he started to think on Murdok’s problem. As he fell asleep he saw three white balls circling in space, could this be a three body problem waiting to be solved? (Stardate: 2445.09.05 – 04:00 local time) Water bottles filled, trail food ready, and hiking shoes on, Gregory walked quietly out of the inn. He adjusted his pack and checked his map. It looked like a good 90 minute hike to the base of the mountain where he’s begin his ascent. The weather looked fine for the climb, and he headed off into the brush to meet his destiny in the mountains. Arriving at the base of his chosen path of ascent, Gregory dropped his pack to setup his gear. Warming up some water with his camp stove, he made some coffee. As it cooled, he looked at the vertical wall he was facing off against. Scanning it with his binoculars, he started charting his path up the mountain. Finishing his coffee, he started to gear up for his ascent. Shoes, belt and harness all ready. Gregory tied the bowline into his rope and hooked in. The first 100 meters was always the hardest, getting mentally into the battle of man versus mountain. Chalking his hands, Gregory started up the cliff, one hold at a time. Slowly with the ascent, Gregory started to understand the mountain. Left foot. Right hand. The rhythm of the climb. Pausing, he fixed a way bolt in a crack and snapped his line in. Climbing again, as the sun started to warm the rock, Gregory paused to take a drink of water. Starting his ascent again, Gregory continued to focus, finding his footing as he ascended. The motions were slow and deliberate as he approached the next section of the climb. Already about 400 meters into the climb, the next section was called the widow maker. More than one climber has lost it on this part of the ascent. The cracks on the path were not good for holding cams because of their odd shapes. Slowly Gregory wedged his hand into the cracks, made a fist and pulled himself up. Meter by meter he made his way up. Focused on the spot, he inserted his left hand and touched something furry. Suddenly a dozen Bajorian bats came swarming out of the crack, startling Gregory and throwing his balance. Suddenly he was falling backwards into the open air. Gregory started flaying as he fell, hoping that his cams would hold. The ground was coming up mighty fast. (Reply none) (Posted by Tim) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Day: 5 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< (Bajor –Kola Mountains- Ops, Ensign Dieter Gregory -09:00) Damned bats, Gregory thought as he tried to prepare for the sudden, inevitable stop his gear would cause. It wouldn’t do to smash up against the mountain as he tried to brace for impact. ~It’s not the fall that’ll kill you dummy. It’s the sudden stop,~ he heard in his mind as the rope suddenly became taunt stopping his descent. Repositioning his body to take the shock of meeting the cliff face, the rope went loose again as the cam came flying out of the cliff face. ~It is happening again,~ came to Gregory’s mind. The strange looking Bajorian’s words filled his mind as the ground kept coming closer. This was not the end that Gregory imagined, falling to his death. Two hundred meters to the base of the cliff. One hundred meters… Fifty meters … another cam popped out of the crack. (USS Amazon, Runabout) “Ensign, do you have Gregory?” Lieutenant Johnson called out. “Not yet, Lieutenant,” Murdok replied, “He appears to be falling.” “Not good, you’ll have to widen the angular confinement beam so you catch him. How far from the ground?” “Sensors indicate 200 meters.” Murdok’s fingers worked over the transport controls, his second thumb came in handy to make additional adjustments. Working quickly to save his friend, he adjusted the angular confinement while refining the emitter array. The board showed a good lock on Gregory. He had one shot at this. Murdok moved his fingers to activate the transporter. (Kola Mountain) ~Planet’s coming up a might fast.~ Gregory thought as his backup, safety cam held firm jerking him to a stop. As he began to readjust himself so he didn’t hit the wall, everything when dark. (USS Amazon) The sound of a successful transport filled the small craft as Murdok caught Gregory’s form and brought it onto the ship. A thud announced that Gregory had arrived. Looking around confused, Gregory slowly stood up. “Welcome home Gregory,” Murdok said as he offered him a hand. “What?? How?? Huh?” Gregory managed to mutter as Lieutenant Johnson started scanning him with a medical tricorder. “No apparent injuries, other than the one in your head, Ensign,” the science officer said as she closed her tricorder with a snap. Gregory stepped off the transport pad and into the shuttle proper. “What?” he sputtered out again. “I showed the Lieutenant the Omicron radiation readings. There have been two more incidents since you left for your gravitational experiment,” Murdok said “She convinced the commander to let us take a shuttle to set some probes and monitor from a closer position. I convinced her that we needed you as well.” “As fortune would have it, your experiment again demonstrated gravity works and we were around to rescue you from almost certain death. You are welcome.” Gregory walked to the replicator, “Tea, extra large, single sweet.” As the mug appeared, he took it and sat down, “Yes, it seems Murdok, your theories of gravity remain intact.” Turning to the Lieutenant, “Thank you Ma’am.” “No problem Ensign. I didn’t want to have to fill out all the paperwork, and I’m sure the Chief would blame me somehow, making me clean the waste reclamation systems. By the way, there was an incident in Quarks with the reclamation system, and Quark is claiming you did something to it.” “I did no such thing, he said his cousin Ig something would fix it. He didn’t want to play Star Fleet rates,” Gregory said defensively. Johnson put her hand up, “You will have time for that later. Right now, we have to get over this area and setup our sensor trap. It’ll take about 3 hours of flight, so get into uniform and listen to what Murdok as found so we can make the best use of time.” (Reply: None) (Posted by Tim B) (USS Illuminar - Main Engineering - ACEO, Ens(sg) Vex'ahlia Jordaan - 2158) As the doors to Main Engineering opened the place was far busier than it had been at this time over the past few days. The Captain's decision to test the Crystal Drives warp duration test had caused the Chief to make sure there were enough people around to continue maintenance on the rest of the ship, as well as keep an eye on the Drive in the case of any fluctuations. "Anders.. How were the panels on Deck 4?" she asked the Engineer as she moved up behind him. "All good, Sir. No issues there, it's been signed off." the man responded. He had some sort of dark material on his cheek. "Awesome." Vex said, "Make sure it gets taken off the list and head out." Walking towards the group that were monitoring the crystal drive. Before she could make it to them however there was a loud sound from a panel behind her and she was thrown off her feet, she could feel her body loop up into the air as she caught a glimpse of an overloaded panel and then cried ::LUMA:: A second passed as plummeted to the floor and then everything disappeared for a moment and she reappeared standing a few feet from where she was about to fall. Several Engineers looked towards her bewildered, unsure what to make of the situation and the fact that their Assistant Chief had just been thrown half way across Engineering and pulled off an astonishing Transporter save. Sending a wave of gratitude to Luma telepathically along with showing Luma the scene from her point of view she spotted the errant console and immediately tapped her badge, "Medical Emergency in Main Engineering." Running towards the injured Petty Officer who had been at the panel before it had let out the surge of energy. (Reply Medical) Whilst checking the Petty Officer's vitals was when a shooting pain hit her down the back. ::Luma...?:: she thought as she began to sway on the spot, everything around her going wavy and black. She thought she heard Chief Taya's name mentioned as one of the Engineers around her put a comm. call out for aid. Engineering was buzzing with people running around trying to decipher what was going wrong, she had enough sense about her to realise the light from the Crystal Drive was pulsating at quicker intervals than it had been previously, "::Something.. wrong.. with the.. It meant that he had only met the other staff in passing but unfortunate that was how things went. He was enjoying himself immensely. He had not had to do a start-up before and being part of the team to work out where everything went was fun. He had spent time in the Operating Theatres putting bits of equipment where he liked to have them. He made sure that everything was in logical and sensible places, but it was his small stamp on the ship. He was doing his evening rounds in the surgical ward through critical care and had just finished in Intensive care unit. He had entered Sickbay and nodded to one of the night staff when the comm system activated. =^=Medical Emergency in Main Engineering=^= “Understood medical copies. Shaun had watched as Ensign Vex'ahlia had been thrown through the air by some sort of electrical surge, only to disappear via a transporter beam mid-air and then re-appear only a few steps away from him. He stood there transfixed by the magnificent feat that he had just witnessed, completely no-plussed by the whirring sounds of alarms and flashing lights going on around him. His twin was NEVER going to believe him when he told him what had happened. As he was thinking this he heard someone shout, "Medical Emergency" and as he looked over he could see that the Assistant Chief had now collapsed and was next to another Engineering Officer that looked particularly bloodied. "What's going on Shaun?" Terry said as he ran into Engineering and spotted his gormless brother just standing still in the middle of chaos. "Huh? Somethings going on Terry. TERRY! You won't believe what just happened? The Assistant Chief? You know, the one over there that's lying unconscious got flipped and transported at the same time. I guess it didn't help in the end though." Shaun said as he saw his brother. Terry rolled his eyes, "Yes.. but what's ACTUALLY happening Shaun? We can talk about the aerobics Vex'ahlia performed once it's calm." "It was COOL Terry. I promise you." "Sure." Terry replied, but now not really paying attention to his twin at all. Running over to panels that others were working on and looking at the readings he began to panic. ~How fast?~ He tapped his comm. badge, "Ensign Matrix, Ensign Taya. Please report. We have an emergency in Main Engineering. Something's going wrong with the Crystal Drive" (Reply Matrix / Taya) A medical team burst in through the door and an Ensign headed directly for the injured personnel. Dragging Shaun with him, Terry moved towards them, “What happened?” the medical Ensign asked. "Shaun? SHAUN." Terry said. "Huh? Right. That console over there sparked, or overloaded. Not sure. He took the brunt of it." Pointing to the extremely bloodied and burnt Petty Officer which was lying with a few Engineers around him. "Ensign Vex was heading away from it when it happened, she went flying. I guess it caught her as it went off." (Reply Edwards) "Folks, we need to get these panels isolated. We don't want them overloading whilst we have Medical and injured officers by them." Terry shouted to a few engineers as Shaun gave the Medical Officer a run down. He looked around at the a group of people beside some one who was who was lying against a bulkhead as he moved close he noticed CPO insignia on his collar. It looked that like the Petty Officer had gotten most of the overload front on. There were extensive burns to his chest, face and arms. He checked the airway to make sure that there had not been any burn inhalation and although he could see swelling it was not life threatening at the moment. ~Okay they have gone down to the bone in some cases. He is going to need extensive tissue regeneration~ He scrutinised the tricorder again and sighed to himself. It looked as of the blast had damaged him internally. He could see that there was a marked change in his vital then moments ago. He looked over at a group of engineers what were working on a set of panels. “Am I safe to move them?” (Reply Engineering) He nodded and looked at one of the nurses that had come with him. “Okay. he has third degree burns on face, chest and arms. Airway is compromised but clear at the moment. He also has internal bleeding from the blast or then landing. He needs to get back to sickbay right now. I’ll stay with the other patient.” The nurses nodded as she waved over the orderlies that has also arrived. Mark tapped his comm badge. “Dr Edwards to sickbay.” (Reply Sickbay) “I have two casualties. One is critical with third degree burns on face, chest and arms. Along with internal bleeding. I am sending him back now I will assess the other patient and update you.” (Reply Sickbay) He turned and moved over to the Ensign. From what he could see she had been luckier then the CPO and probably because she had been moving away. She still had burns on her back which would need treatment and a few bruises where she bounced off the floor but nothing as life threatening s the CPO but the fact that she was still unconscious was worrying him. “Ensign I am Dr Edwards from Sickbay. Can you hear me?” (Reply Jordaan) (Reply Taya, Matrix, Jordaan , Sickbay, Any in Engineering ) (Posted by Robbie )(SPC Mark Edwards) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Day: 15 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< (USS Illuminar - Deck 1, Ready Room - CO, Lieutenant Commander Sekal / FO, Lieutenant Sienna Verin-Williams / 2O, Lieutenant Carson Peters & Starfleet CSEC, Vice Admiral Jono Janeway - 0915) They were nearing Bajoran space and would be penetrating it in less than an hour, so Sekal had started his day early. Carson Peters was currently manning the bridge when the call came through of an incoming transmission from StarFleet Command. Priority one. Sekal tapped his communicator, Sienna was currently off duty but priority one transmissions were of the utmost importance for the command crew. "Lieutenants Verin and Peters to the Ready Room immediately." Hearing the communication from the Captain, he moved to step off the Bridge and into the Ready Room. Looking around he noticed Sekal seated behind the monitor and headed to join him. Sienna had been sleeping but woke up, blinking. She dressed quickly, running a brush through her hair before twisting it up into a clip. Grabbing her uniform jacket, and then coffee, she had Luma transport her to the ready room, landing lightly on her feet as she took a sip of her coffee, less than three minutes after being summoned. “Sorry, you said immediately and I was asleep.” Carson smiled at her and nodded his head towards the screen, “We haven’t started yet, don’t worry.” She moved behind him so that she could see the screen. He then turned his attention back to the monitor. "Enable transmission. Command code Sekal alpha 3, Tau 8, Green 3." The screen came to life showing the visage of Admiral Janeway who was sporting a concerned look. =^=Captain Sekal,=^= Janeway nodded to the commanding officer of the Illuminar. =^=I appreciate you taking the call, I know how hectic running a new ship can be on it’s first mission.=^= The Vulcan nodded slightly. "The ship is running efficiently and the groundwork has been laid for our mission Admiral. What is the nature of your transmission?" =^=I have a mission update for you, Captain. Your mission is now a much more serious one,=^= he said with a somber tone. An eyebrow lifted. "Explain." =^=The Illuminar & Exeter will be going their separate ways, Exeter will be heading to the Badlands and as for yourself, you’re to continue to Bajor. We’ve had a call for aid from the Bajoran government, they have some sort of outbreak on their hands within the High Temple. You are hereby ordered to report to Bajor and provide aid in any way possible.=^= Carson raised his eyebrow and looked at both Sienna and Sekal not wanting to jump in and interrupt his Uncle. Not that the man had even glanced towards him the entire time he’d been sat down. =^=I must warn you Sekal, the Exeter is heading to the Badlands in search of a known terrorist and ex-member of the Vedek Assembly. There has been an increase in attacks and Intelligence believes Trentin Jost is the one behind them. There is a chance that these two actions are linked, as we know Trentins distaste for the current Vedek leadership and the outbreak from what we can tell seems to have started in the Temple=^= “So we could be walking into the middle of an uprising?” Carson commented. Sienna’s heart stuttered as she thought about Ash, Lynn, Trip...Rissa… in the badlands after a terrorist. It made her seriously fear for her family. They would have the easier mission perhaps, but there were going to be any number of issues. =^=There are analysts within Intelligence who believe both actions to be the start of a war led by Jost and his allies in an attempt to overthrow the Bajoran religion. I’m not so sure, but keep it in mind when heading into Bajoran space.=^= Sienna swallowed, hard, setting her coffee down while she thought about the things that were going to need to be arranged. “Admiral, this is an official, diplomatic request?” Sienna asked curiously. “The Bajorans tend to be somewhat fanatic about their religion. Has this request been ratified by their Vedek Council or will we face opposition?” She had done some studying on the subject, and it helped that Lynn was part bajoran. It was the first time they saw a slight smile from the Admiral, =^=You have a keen mind Lieutenant. Yes, we’ve been made aware of the situation on the ground by the Bajoran government however, as you point out there is no request for aid by the Council themselves. There is, as suggested, a level of unease. You’re warping into not only a possible pandemic & warzone but a political nightmare. I trust you will tread delicately.=^= Sienna blushed lightly. She had been always told she had her Dad’s engineering mindset, hearing that she had her Mother’s tendency towards Strat Ops was the biggest compliment that someone from high up could pay her. “We have Counselor Ravenstone, Sir. She’s got advanced diplomatic training.” Sienna was already considering how to allocate staff. =^=Well I’ll leave that to you,=^= Janeway said. =^=Once you arrive and gather the current state of affairs on Bajor I’ll expect to see a report.=^= “Of course.” Carson said. The Admirals eyes washed over him once again. Sekal nodded. "Acknowledged Admiral, we will be prepared for any issues that may arise. Your orders are understood and confirmed. Illuminar will be prepared to lend any assistance requested." Sekal himself had a wealth of diplomatic experience that he could call upon should the need arise. "Illuminar out." Once the conversation was finished the screen went black as the Admiral ended the communication. Sekal shut down the monitor and it folded into the desktop then he looked at his command team. "Lieutenant Verin be prepared to mobilize medical and counseling to aid with the medical issues which may include a contagion and battle casualties." Sienna had an excellent rapport with the science department as did Sekal. He then addressed Carson. "You will mobilize security in case their services are necessary. At the minimum they will have oversight of any medical personnel required." His gaze took in the both. I will liaison with the Bajoran government. Due to the severity of the situation I am going to request clearance to land on Bajor near to an area we may be needed. It will simplify the movement of personnel and logistics for their support which will be necessary if the Admiral is correct in his assessment of the situation." "Are there any questions or comments?" Sienna shook her head, “No Sir.” She spoke, “We will need to make sure our decontamination protocols are reviewed and refreshed. I’ll talk to science about that also.” Sekal nodded. "I will be heavily involved with the science department as well should the need arise. If we are looking at a bio-engineered weapon it is logical to assume we will need to pool all of the resources at our disposal into diagnosing and turning around the situation." He then gave Carson his attention. “We may need to replicate more hazmat gear if Science, Medical and Security will need them. I’ll meet with Security and have them prep Quarantine protocols and have them run drills on the Holodeck using the data we have on the Temple and surrounding areas.” "Very well. Lieutenant Verin you may return to your quarters and Lieutenant Peters you are relieved. I will talk to the departments involved and have them prepare." (Reply: Any) (Posted by Charles Gatling) (Jono Bradley) (Melinda Gatling) (USS Illuminar - Deck 1, Ready Room - CO, Lieutenant Commander Sekal- 1000) The meeting over and his command crew departed to their off time Sekal tapped his combadge. "Lieutenant Alyl and Ensign Stennin to the Ready Room." (Reply: Alyl, Stennin) He stood up and walked to the sideboard where the Anelurian crystal passed down from his father once again hung suspended in the air above the anti-gravity display disk given Saleke by Doctor Riven Mias nearly thirty years ago. It rotated slowly making one full revolution every three minutes. A routine mission had just turned sideways and the science department would no doubt he heavily involved. One year ago he would have been contributing heavily from that department but now he was at the center of planning rather than execution. It was an unaccustomed position and one that it would take time to become routine. The dark matter phaser presented to him by Jaelle Foxglove also had a spot on the sideboard reposing upon a crystal display mount. The phaser had been studied and reassembled by Ensign Stennin and was in working order. According to Federation directives however it was illegal for anti-personnel use due to the intense pain it would inflict even on a stun setting just as disruptors were outlawed. In time perhaps more display pieces would be added but it wasn't a need certainly. His head turned as the buzzer sounded. "Come." He spoke as he remained standing before the plaque for Illuminar that was featured prominently upon the wall. He took a few more notes as he watched the column for some more time. He slowly adjusted the heat of the mantle in which the flask was. Suddenly, his commbadge buzzed. He tapped it quickly. =/\= Lieutenant Alyl and Ensign Stennin to the Ready Room. =/\= Stennin rose a brow. It was Sekal's voice, and he appeared to be urgent. =/\= Acknowledged, Commander. The man nodded and took the PADD in hand as Stennin walked to the turbolift. (USS Illuminar - Deck 1, Ready Room - ASCRD Ensign Stennin - 1000) Stennin walked up to the door as he noticed Jaton behind him. He nodded to the Trill officer and sounded the buzzer. "Come." came the voice from behind the door. Stennin nodded to Jaton and the door opened. He noticed Sekal was alone in his ready room. He approached him and stood still. "Ensign Stennin reporting, commander." (Reply Jaton) (Written by Yoerik van Heugten) (USS Illuminar - Deck 1, Ready Room - CO- Lieutenant Commander Sekal- 1005) Sekal watched as Stennin Alyl walked through the door and it closed behind them. "Ensign Stennin reporting, commander." (Reply Jaton) He motioned to the chairs before his desk. "Feel free to be seated." He then walked to his chair and seated himself, speaking as they got settled in. "We have just received an update from Admiral Janeway on conditions at Bajor and I will be calling on you to be heavily invloved." (Reply: Stennin, Alyl) He interlinked his fingers upon the desktop. "The situation we have been briefed on is this. There has been some kind of outbreak at the temple that has struck down the Kai and all those there save for medical personnel sent in from outside but even those succumb if they remain too long.." His eyes went from one to the other. "Medical will of course be heavily involved in the investigation but most of their effort will have to be aimed at giving succor to those who have been affected. I am assigning the both of you to run tests to find out what is happening and why so that it may be alleviated." (Reply: Stennin, Alyl) "It is imperative to note that the population may be on the verge of hostilities if not already involved when we arrive which will certainly make your task more difficult but if you are not successful the odds are greatly increased that the planet will devolve into open warfare." (Reply: Stennin, Alyl) (Posted by Charles G) (USS Illuminar - Deck 1, Ready Room - ASCRD Ensign Stennin - 1007) Stennin watched as Sekal motioned towards the seats. "Feel free to be seated." He spoke, and he sat down himself. Stennin nodded softly and then sat down. "We have just received an update from Admiral Janeway on conditions at Bajor and I will be calling on you to be heavily involved." Stennin nodded. It was only logical for Science to be invited to the operation. "That is only logical. How can Science help?" (Reply Jaton) "The situation we have been briefed on is this. There has been some kind of outbreak at the temple that has struck down the Kai and all those there save for medical personnel sent in from outside but even those succumb if they remain too long.." Stennin rubbed his chin for a moment. The situation appeared quite serious. He listened attentively. "Medical will of course be heavily involved in the investigation but most of their effort will have to be aimed at giving succor to those who have been affected. I am assigning the both of you to run tests to find out what is happening and why so that it may be alleviated." Stennin nodded. If there was an epidemiologic investigation to be conducted, the Science department would be having a big job. He surmised that he needed to gather some of the microbiology specialists together, so they could work on it. "I will investigate the formation of a small team to conduct a microbiology analysis. The pathogen will need to be identified before we can investigate countermeasures. I will compile a small preliminary report on our investigation once we have arrived." (Reply Jaton) "It is imperative to note that the population may be on the verge of hostilities if not already involved when we arrive which will certainly make your task more difficult but if you are not successful the odds are greatly increased that the planet will devolve into open warfare." Stennin rose his brows. The Bajorans were very spiritual, so he deduced that they would retaliate if Starfleet did not succeed. Another effect that was dragging out from the Civil War. "Is there a need to raise security measures around our medical camps? If there is a risk of violence, both the medical teams and the scientific investigators must be protected." (Reply Jaton, Sekal) Stennin nodded and shuffled in his seat. "Bajor has a long history with Starfleet. And a most troubled one, at best. But we have to trust the people of Deep Space Nine to uphold their duties." (Reply Jaton, Sekal) (Written by Yoerik van Heugten) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Day: 17 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< (Bajor, Ashala - The High Seat of the Assembly- High Committewoman's Office - High Committewoman Jnel Rinai and Public Health Minister Njar Lyian - 0800) Things had gotten worse over the last several days. The disease or contagion, or whatever it was, was contained within the Temple. The physicians who had entered the temple grounds were soon too weak. Nothing had been ruled out, and it did not matter if the physicians were in protective gear, or if they were decontaminated while on the grounds. The longer the physicians were on the grounds, the faster they succumbed. Rinai had sent the few military physicians that were in the city of Ashala in and out of the temple grounds, making them decontaminate off the temple grounds. But things were beginning to get worse, most of the people in the temple were ill, most of the Vedeks were on life support. And the people… The panic that she had been trying to alleviate was beginning to take hold. People wanted to get into the temple, for some reason that she could not understand. She was going to have to make a public statement about what was going on. She was going to have to call for more reserve troops from the countryside. The only saving grace was that no one was infected who had limited their exposure to the temple. It seemed like whatever the effects, they were cumulative. She nodded as the high council appeared and took their seats around the table. “The first order of business. We’ve discovered that the maximum exposure is 4 hours in the temple. Decontamination seems to make no difference, and neither does PPE. I have instructed Njar to set up an appropriate rotation of support staff and physicians.” Njar nodded. “Next is that I want to see if we can get a public health team in there to sweep the temple, swab everything, test it all. Maybe there is something we are missing. I don’t know, it’s a shot. Njar sniffed. "It's not like there's anything to find. Contrary to popular opinion I HAVE been reading the reports coming out. Nothing has been found of any micro organisms or cellular damage which might result from radiation exposure in the DNA tests. I'm beginning to think they're faking the tests in order to gain a government subsidy. The religion is vastly wealthy from gifts and alms but why stop there?" She looked around the collective group. "You'll note that the Vedeks who left the temple are perfectly fine and they consider themselves above Bajoran law. They are also primarily a political body." Her eyes narrowed as she regarded Rinai. "They are attempting to undermine the civilian government and you are handing them the ammunition they need. I thought you liked your job Jnel." She ignored the shocked and indignant looks of the others. She knew they didn't like her but too bad, someone had to say what was on their mind here rather than flail about in the dark trying to to hit pagh wraiths. Jnel was many things, including a charismatic speaker, which was why she was the one supposedly in charge. "They are used to undermining the civilian government, they did it for years during the occupation." Lor chimed in, "Many of the city, non military guards are defecting to the side of that… that…" The man searched for the right word as their half klingon foreign minister spoke in a sardonic voice, "That man would be Prylar Tykan Herla." He looked around. "Age sixty eight with forty five years of service to the Prophets. His record had so far been spotless but in times of religious stress zealots can pop up and he has entrenched himself solidly into that category. His preaching and call upon the government to open the temple to his followers so that they can die there and punch their ticket to the Celestial Temple has roused a significant number here and a large number of other worshippers who are headed to the city. His aims so far appear to be peaceful but one spark could ignite a full-scale religious war the likes of which has not been seen since the occupation. He and his followers will have to be handled delicately since martyrs will assuredly inflame the population and bring about an uprising." "I hate to say it Jnel, but it is not just the city guards. The military are as well. I am moving in as many of the known non-religious from everywhere including the station. But about 85% of our current military identify as religious. I don't think we have enough people to do this job, period. We down-scaled the military through attrition after the wars, people wanted to turn their weapons into farming equipment again." Kzan concluded. "Mostly because my predecessors did not want to authorize the pay increases necessary. I know, and I will argue before the full council once this is over for that to change." Jnel sighed and took a drink of the caffeine beverage that she liked. Something called a "red cow" from earth's past. Supposedly contained the ejaculate of a male cow. Like many things from Earth's history, she enjoyed it. Another of her sins according to her political adversaries. "I think we need to consider removing the Kai from the Temple to an isolation room for more advanced life support. Can one of you arrange that? She will need at least two female attendants. Ideally I would like to move her to DS9. There are Federation doctors there and…" She was cut off by Njar. Of course it was by Njar. "Do you really think the Vedek Council will allow that? They are probably already scheming to replace her and jockeying into position to be the next Kai." Jnel snorted. "Kai Hetel was a compromise choice by all reports and they've since learned to their horror that she actually enjoys her religious duties rather than being a political leader." Njar leaned forward over the table. "What I'm saying if you aren't aware is that I will be shocked first of all if they allow her to be moved." She threw up her hands. "If she's even sick. Maybe she's been poisoned and they're hiding it so they can replace her and the rest are playing along with their game but for whatever reason I will be utterly shocked if they give permission to remove her from her quarters. After all her death is to their benefit." Rinai did not consider herself the most religious person, but that thought, there. That one filled her with horror. "By my order, I will have her moved. By transporter to an isolation ward. The Vedeks can howl all they want, but we can not afford to lose her now. She brought a stability to this planet that was lacking." Jnel looked around the room, her eyes settling on her foreign minister, who was also her spy master. "Njar will liason with Kzan to get the isolation area set up. Lor, if you know of any handmaidens from one of the other continents, preferably Acolyte and above. It is important the Kai not be left alone. "I want to call the Federation in. We need help, and what we need most is medical. This has the potential to turn into a civil vs religious war. If that happens, we will lose our status as a member world until everything is sorted. There are two vessels already incoming but we may need more help." Jnel leaned forward and stared hard at Njar, "You have been known to leak information in the past that was to your political benefit. None of this can get out." Jnel looked down, aware that she had drawn a line in the sand. "Our people are more important than anything else. We can and have rebuilt before. Whatever this is sickening our people, it will not win." "Lastly, I need someone with a good connection to the Vedek Council. I think the orbs might need to be moved. It would be best to get them as far out of the city as possible. Especially with those crowds gathering. Inflamed by the Prylar it will not be long until that mob tears into the temple." She looked around for a moment before dismissing them. She moved to stand beside the window, then turned quickly as she heard the door shut, seeing their foreign minister. "I am having Taer Sadine send the official request to the federation since she is bajoran royalty and does that sort of thing better than me." Rinai nodded, it was true. There was a reason she held a seat on the council in her own right and helped as needed anywhere. Her entire family had been in politics and religion, and several of her many times past ancestors had wielded the scepter. "Sadine has the planet unified as her lifelong dream and people keep ruining that for her. She may want to make a speech on her own, try to cool the hotheads in the city." "Rinai," Kier began, "Our lives would be simplified if the Prylar simply dies. I made you a promise not to do so without you express permission. I am asking for it." Rinai aimply shook her head, hiding the horror… mostly. "N-noo. But draw up 3 solutions for me. Report by risk to me later." Nodding to her, he left and she sank onto the floor by her desk. She hoped that she never lost thar sick feeling in her tummy when talking about those subjects. There was a pause. "Major!" The voice was low in volume but urgent in tone. It was the urgency that jerked him to wakefulness. The interior of this tower was dim as the other would be. Sleeping bags were in neat rows before him and most contained sleeping officers who were off duty. The five women were similarly bivouaced on the floor of the other tower. Light from the plaza lit the interior at a severe angle illuminating a slice of the far wall but he could make out the wide eyed face of one of his crew. The plaza itself was relatively quiet since the Prylar had ceased his sermon around 2100 and was no doubt sleeping somewhere nearby. Filar levered himself up mindful of the quiet, there was no howling horde or sound of a clash. The night was peaceful, even serene. "What is it Keren?" He growled unintentionally. The man shook his head. "The Lieutenant and two of his men are gone sir, disappeared into the crowd." Filar cursed softly and forced his mind to full wakefulness as he rolled out of the bag and found his clothes. "When?" "Just now sir. I woke up and took a walk outside and saw them walking toward the crowd. The other five were in shock." Filar shrugged on his shirt and stepped into his pants then reached for the boots as he cursed again. The group that were here when they arrived had seemed solid and had been on the graveyard shift. He glanced at the chrono on the wall, another two hours and they would have been relieved. His boots on he stormed out of the tower and stomped to the nearest one and growled. "Why weren't they stopped?" The Bajoran shook his head sadly. "He didn't say anything, just crawled over the barricade and walked off. Jime and Aren followed him." Filar looked out over the plaza, some were lying atop blankets and others were walking around. The makeshift podium stood empty and of his missing men there was no sign. All was still quiet. He raised his voice. "All of you go wake your reliefs and grab eight. You are relieved." He watched them walk away with heads hanging and anger coursed through him. He now realized the odds that were stacked against him. He was fighting a war of attrition and the Prylar was winning. He activated his comm. "Command this is Major Tan." =^= Go ahead Major. =^= "I need that relief. Fourty coming out and twenty coming in." That would send in the five whom he had just relieved and a full half of those he had brought out who he wasn't sure he could count on. =^= No can do at this time on the relief. Said Grey Wolf from the Conn station. Stennin turned around to look at the viewscreen, as he noticed the ship slowed down. "Slow to warp three and set course for DS9. Slow to impulse when we reach the orbital plane of the eleventh planet." Sekal ordered. Stennin turned back to the sensors to see if anything appeared erratic, but the only signals were those of the Bajoran planets and their orbital stations. "Slowing to warp three now." Grey Wolf complied. Stennin tapped a few commands to take a closer look at some of the signals, and they were confirmed to be either freighter ships or satellites. "On course for DS9. Dropping out of warp in eighteen minutes." "Open a channel to Andros planetary control." Stennin nodded, and looked at the signals from Andros. Nothing appeared out of the ordinary. He tapped a few commands, and a small screen showed several important characteristics about Andros. The planet was bustling with activity, but some areas were completely deserted. As he took out the planetary scans, he understood why. There were a lot of geysers on the planet. The government official gave an understanding nod. ,=^=Of course, welcome again. Bajoran control out.=^= Stennin looked at the planetary scan with fascination. The planet appeared to have some interesting volcanic activity. "Ensign Stennin have your scans picked up the Othelio?" Stennin was stirred in his musings by Sekal's query. He tapped a few other commands and brought up the proximity scans. He turned around and nodded. "Affirmative, commander. The Othelio is approximately five thousand kilometers away. It is close to Deep Space Nine." "Contact Ensign Hammerfield and have her rendezvous with us outside the Denorios belt at Deep Space Nine. We will take the runabout aboard then continue to Andros after we have beamed aboard a new officer from the station."Sekal ordered. Stennin nodded and turned, searching the coordinates Sekal mentioned. He quickly plotted a course and sent it to Grey Wolf. "Course is plotted, commander." He answered Sekal. He then turned to Grey Wolf. "Lieutenant, there are some asteroid formations in our course. I have tagged them for you." He spoke. (Reply All) (Written by Yoerik van Heugten) (USS Illuminar - Deck 1, Bridge - 2O, Lieutenant Carson Peters - 0603) Towards the end of his rotation the Captain had joined the crew on the Bridge as they were growing closer to the Bajoran system so he had moved from the CO's chair and took up the First Officers position for the time being. He was a little tired but understood that he was unlikely to get much time off in the near future due to the nature of the issues they were drifting into. "Entering the system now sir." The words from Lieutenant Grey Wolf who had come to the bridge early as well at his request to man the conn station. Still focused on his own thoughts Carson was about to respond, ordering the slow down of the ship when Sekal beat him to it. ~That would have been embarrasing~ he thought to himself as he sat up a little straighter and began monitoring sensor readings from the small screen in front of him. Bringing up the information on the two new officers they were bringing aboard, Carson began reading up on them. Ensign Janice Hammerfield, a Security Officer who had been stationed in the system for a little while and Ensign Dieter Gregory an Ops Officer also someone who had been stationed in the system, although primarily at Deep Space Nine for some time. He made a mental note to chat with both to see what insight either may have on the current situation or the planet. Opening up the messaging system, he put together a quick message to the DS9 Operations Department to have the Ensign ready to beam up at the designated time slot so they wouldn't need to be hanging around the station unnecessarily and sent it. Sekal seemed to have the same idea as he asked Ensign Stennin to contact Hammerfield and have the runabout ready to come aboard. (Reply all on Bridge) (Posted by Jono Bradley) (USS Illuminar - Bridge - ACOUNS ACMO ENS SG Ariel Trei - 06.05) As the ship entered the Bajoran system, she was seated next to Sekal. It was a bit early for her but she thought it was her place to be on the Bridge when they enter the system in case there was some communicating to be done. It most likely will be the case. She doesn't recall ever being at DS9 so she was looking forward to checking out the station. The wormhole will be fascinating to see. She assessed the situation as they proceeded into the system. "Sir I sense a range of emotions as we approach Bajor. I mostly sense unrest. It feels like a rebel uprising sir." (Reply Sekal, Any) (Posted by Edward) Mission: The Root of Decay Day: 18 Stardate: 2445.09.18 (USS Illuminar - Deck 1, Bridge - CO- Lieutenant Commander Sekal- 0625) "Sir we are entering the orbital path of the eleventh planet, taking her out of warp as ordered." Tempest disengaged the warp drive and opened the impulse exhaust vents to the aft of the saucer sections and initiated full thrust. The ship dropped out of warp and began making a more sedate pace toward Deep Space Nine at one quarter light speed as the warp engines dropped to minimal power output. "Reading only light traffic around DS9 at this time." A blue light began blinking to the side of the panel beside the plotted course toward the space station which showed the current location of any navigational hazards of which there were none. The eleventh planet was eighty days away from this position in its orbital path and there were no asteroid or meteors which were on course to intercept them. There were a few small craft in the area, one of which carried the designation of the Runabout which was moving to meet them outside the Denorios Belt as ordered. "I've got an incoming transmission on the primary Navigational frequency from DS9." "Acknowledged." She opened the transmission. "This is flight operations officer Grey Wolf on the USS Illuminar." =^=Illuminar this is DS9 control, I read you at twelve minutes out. Will you be docking? =^= "Negative DS9 control. We have two to take aboard then will be continuing on to Andros. We have one transferring from the station. Please have Ensign Gregory available for immediate transport." =^=Roger that. I'm notifying him now. He will be available in ten minutes. I'm sending you a flight vector around the station and clearing traffic so you will have an unobstructed path. Give your commander our regards and we hope you will take some time to stop by before you leave the system. =^= She gave the smallest of smiles at that. "Acknowledged. What do I need to know about the Denorios Belt?" =^= Thoron levels are minimal. No current plasma storms expected and you won't be encountering any neutrino eddies on your present course. The plotted course I've sent will keep you well clear of any nevigational hazards if you will follow it and then set your course directly for planet seven.=^= "Acknowledged. Thank you DS9 control. I'll notify you when we are ready to take Gregory aboard." The transmission ended and it wasn't long before the runabout began closing and matching speed. "Commander the Othelio will be in transporter range in two minutes. Slowing to one quarter impulse." She slowed the ship as he began making preparations. Sekal opened an internal frequency. "Transporter room 1 prepare to beam aboard one from the Othelio." =^=Trasporter Room 1 standing by. I'll initiate transport as soon as they signal they are ready. I read they will be within range in one minute thirty seconds.=^= "Acknowledged. Notify me when Ensign Hammerfield is aboard." Tempest watched her instruments as well as the viewscreen as Othelio appeared on the screen and began to grow. The runabout was making good time. She had slowed Illuminar to simplify the process of the handover which would get ascendingly trickier at higher speeds. Another blue light flickered on her panel as well as the ones at the command chairs as the vessel came into range and transport was initiated. When it was done Sekal accepted a transmission by pressing the blinking amber light on his screen. =^= One officer aboard sir. =^= (Reply: Hammerfield) "Acknowled. Direct her to her cabin with orders to report to the bridge immediately afterward." =^= Aye sir. =^= (Reply: Hammerfield) "Othelio is clear of our flight path. Permission to increase speed sir?" "Negative. Remain at one quarter impulse until we close then go to maneuvering thrusters only until we have Ensign Gregory aboard and are clear of the station." "Roger that." The Denorios Belt was penetrated with no issue and the navigational deflectors swept aside some small debris as DS9 grew on the viewscreen. As she entered the plotted vector around the station Tempest closed the impulse drive vents and fired forward thrusters to bleed off speed then lateral thrusters to enter the plotted arc sent by the stations control. "Entering transporter range sir." She heard the Vulcan's voice as he set the pickup into motion. "Transporter room one prepare to receive one." He cut the comm. "Send DS9 the coordinates for the transporter room." She sent the coordinates along with the all clear signal to the station. It wasn't long before Sekal got another comm signal. =^=Ensign Gregory aboard sir. =^= (Reply: Gregory) "Same orders as before." =^=Acknowledged. Transporter room one out.=^= (Reply: Gregory) "Are we clear of the station to increase speed?" "Yes sir." "Full Impulse to Andros Lieutenant." "Yes sir!" Tempest opened the vents again and increased the impulse drive to full. "Two hours, forty five minutes to Andros on our present course sir." Then another. Dull. Monotonous. Routine. She glanced to the side where a young man sat in the pilot seat – Ensign Ally Deto. Slicked back black hair and bright green eyes he looked out of the window as his feet rested crossed to the side of the controls. She had known the man for many years through the academy but now, after a month of sitting in space she found herself irritated with the man. Her gaze narrowed as his annoying habit of tapping the console grinded down her patience. Tap... tap... tap... tap... “MUST YOU!” she blurted out standing up from the station nearly knocking a drink over onto the floor Deto jumped up and slid back into his seat swivelling it round to face her, “Jezz Jan – whats got into you!” Taking a deep breath she sat back down, “The tapping. This is the hundredth time ive had to tell you. Why on Earth did I let you drag me out here.” “You said you wanted back on a ship instead of doing the footwork back on Earth. I got us on one.” He folded his arms over having had just about enough of Janice moaning at him. “Yes an actual ship! You know the one where things happen! How long are we going to be out hear taking sensor readings? Monitoring comm traffic? Checking the registration of ships that come past. Sorry if I wanted something more than being a glorified satellite in a suit for the past however long its been. We have been cooped up in here for so long ive lots track of the days,” she slumped back down in her seat deeply unhappy. “Its been about...” Deto was about to tell her the exact amount of days they had been here but a glare from Janice was enough to tell him that if he did he would be eating the words. He sighed, “You wanted off – this was the quickest way and this assignment is an easy one. Command says move here monitor... move there monitor.” Her gaze met him, “I don’t want easy. I want challenging. Thats why im leaving.” “Leaving?” he looked at her puzzled, “like leaving – leaving?” “Exactly. I have the transfer orders through. So when the time comes your going to fly this runabout to where my new assignment will be and ill leave you to the easy life,” she sat back up straight needing to press another button. With an outstretched overexaggerated finger she looked him in the eyes and pressed it in one long motion. Beep. There was an eerily long silence. He turned back to the controls not quite sure what to say, “Well... good luck? Have you told T’Rook in the back yet?” “Who do you think I got to second the transfer out?” she replied not looking up, “Im sorry. Its. The space – its so cramped in here there’s no room to have a moments privacy or just escape looking at a wall that isn’t five feet away.” “Mmm, I thought you got over the claustrophobia in basic?” he turned back round to look at her. “I did – that still doesn’t mean I enjoy it,” she thought back into dealing with it – there were so many tubes to climb and crawl through. “Well, just say where we need to go and we can get you dropped off to something a little bigger than this old bucket,” he nodded trying not to leave things sour. Janice swiped her console as it beeped, “Looks like that might be sooner that I thought. Updated flight plans to rendezvous with the USS Illuminar. Ill send them your way.” She looked at him, “Ally im sorry I just cant stand being with you for so long. Small doses back at the academy were fine. Hoepfully me moving off will put things back to the way they were.” “Sure thing Jan. It already is. You better go pack,” he typed in the new flight path into the helm and started to power up the engines. “Pack – your kidding right. Ive been living out the duffle bag,” she let out a small smile, “One zip and im good to go.” “And your baby?” he smiled, “She aint that heavy. New posting, new frontiers. ~ Gregory thought as he grabbed his go bags. He was still a bit foggy from last night at Quarks. It was a good sendoff with the Ops staff. Even the chief was less grumpy than normal. Arriving at the Transporter, Gregory was pleased to see Murdok. The two had become good friends in their time together. “Friend Gregory, I wish you great success on your next assignment. I have learned much from you.” “Thank you Murdok, it has been a pleasure as well. I will have to practice my 3-D chess before we play again,” Gregory replied holding out his hand. The two shook hands as the all clear signal came over from the USS Illuminar. “It is time, Ensign,” said the transporter chief. Gregory grabbed his things and stood on the transporter pad. The Chief activated the transporter and Gregory was whisked away to adventures unknown. Moments later, he was aboard his new posting. Heading out of the transporter room, it took a moment to get his bearings. He was on Deck 4, so Gregory took the turbolift and made is way towards his new quarters. Finding his room, he pushed the lock and the door opened. Gregory entered and dropped his bags on the bed. Opening one of the bags, he gingerly took out the four bottles of Spring Wine and put them away. “Computer, show me a picture of Lieutenant Peters,” Gregory said. A picture of the human with black hair and blue eyes appeared on the screen. Gregory memorized the picture and left his quarters, jogging to the turbolift, he entered. “Deck 1, Bridge,” he said. The doors opened onto the bridge. The view on the screen showed the starfield he had become used to while working on Deep Space Nine. Time for a new adventure. He felt Alaya stir beside him and he yawned before forcing himself out from under the covers to pad to the facilities. He was going to take a quick shower as well but first replicated a mug of coffee for himself and one of hot chocolate with whipped cream for her. Caffeine was his stimulant while hers was sugar in true Betazoid style. He carried the mug to her and held it under her nose as he took a sip of the Kona coffee he fancied. It was smooth without the typical bitter bite and should have him completely awake by the time he finished the cup. A second cup would "wire" him up and he'd probably need it, they were due to make Andros this morning and things should ramp up quickly. "Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey." He grinned as her eyes slowly opened. (Reply: Alaya) He turned the cup over to her and moved around the bed to take a seat on his side. He didn't have a stitch on yet and could care less at the moment. "Today is the big day. Planetfall but don't expect any shore leave for a while. Things are not right on Bajor. I don't know why Saarsgard has been so quiet but he's kept himself mostly holed up in his office." He turned toward her and grinned. "It's as though he doesn't like me anymore. He hasn't tried to be a thorn in my side the whole trip and I miss his scowling face. Is that strange?" (Reply: Alaya) He laughed. "No he's not scared of me, he hates my guts too much. Maybe the sudden oversight of the department he got slapped with put him a little off kilter. I figure he'll come roaring out of his shell at some point with ideas on how to make my life miserable. Just because he hasn't succeeded yet is no reason for him to stop trying." (Reply: Alaya) He sobered a little. "Things are going to get hectic if the reports are correct. Opening the door she took her duffle off and sat it at the footrest of the bed before placing the metal box on top of it. Pausing she drew a deep breath and stretched her arms out. It was nice not being able to touch two walls at the same time. Taking a moment she looked out the window and saw the runabout she was confined too off in the distance just moving out of her visual range, “Catch you around buddy.” Picking up the metal case again she left the room and made her way out to the lift. That was what he was sticking around for- the possibility of meeting the new faces as they started on the Illuminar. Both of these new crew members could be critical for the coming mission. They both had a ton more experience in the Bajoran system than any other crew currently on board. Carson had taken to wandering around the Bridge and checking in with each station when the turbolift doors opened and out stepped a somewhat tall, brown haired man in a Starfleet Uniform. The man immediately made a bee-line for Carson and stood to attention, “Lieutenant Peters.” he said. A smile appearing on his face he nodded and replied, "Of course." “Ensign Dieter Gregory, operations, reporting for duty,” he said as he handed his orders over to the officer as the Green eyed female also in a Starfleet uniform stepped off the turbolift behind him. Carson took the padd and watched the second Ensign also walk over to him. To her credit, she seemed to realise there was already a conversation happening and stood silently with her hands behind her back and waited. Briefly looking over the padd, he acknowledged receipt of the Ensigns orders. "Excellent to meet you, Ensign Gregory. We are indeed happy to have you onboard." “Thank you, Lieutenant. I am looking forward to the opportunity. If I can ask, when do I go on duty?” the man asked. Before responding, Carson looked beyond him and nodded his head forward to the woman he assumed to be Ensign Hammerfield. “Lieutenant? Janice Hammerfield reporting in.” she said as she stepped forwards, now level with Ensign Gregory. "Just in time Ensign. Did you get lost on your way to the Bridge?" he smiled in the hopes she would tell it was a bit of light ribbing, due to the fact that Ensign Gregory had been picked up after her and had made it to the Bridge first. “Not lost sir. I had to take my firearm to the armoury as per regulations. It took a little more time than I expected,” she explained. Carson nodded, "A wise decision and as I was just saying to Ensign Gregory here, a pleasure to receive you. As for when you go on duty, Ensign." he moved his face back to Gregory, "You both have a few hours before we make it to Bajor. (Reply Sekal, , Any on Bridge) (Posted by Tim B) (USS Illuminar, Deck 1, Bridge – CO - Lieutenant Commander Sekal– 0700) His focus was on the pop-up screen in the arm of the command chair. As the ship was not due to make orbit until 0930 there was ample time to review the readings Ensign Stennin had taken of the primary planet of the system which they were on course for. Collectively and routinely called Bajor being the governmental and defensive seat of the system its proper designation was Andros. The volcanic and thermal readings logged by Stennin were 'fascinating' and threw yet another wrinkle into the already complicated skein of the mission. The ship and crew, as new as they were to the mixer into which they had been thrown were performing admirably despite the component failures noted during the maximum warp duration test. While the ship had undergone exhaustive operational testing it had not been pushed as hard as Sekal had done for one crucial reason, as the designer of the upgraded systems aboard he was aware of their potential uses as well as their limitations. The systems themselves were performing properly but determining what components needed upgrade and strengthening was all a part of those tests. He wasn't so deep in the sensor readings however that he did not note the approach of the three to the command station and looked up at their arrival. His second officer spoke first, making the introduction. "Captain Sekal let me introduce our two newest crew members aboard the USS Illuminar. Ensign Dieter Gregory & Ensign Janice Hammerfield." Sekal himself along with his command crew had been Ensigns themselves one year and five months ago and he was not unaware of the irony which was very much a human concept but he had spent a considerable amount of time among humans before undergoing Kohlinar. so while he did not give much thought to such concepts he was familiar with them. The Vulcan stood to his feet showcasing his height and his gaze settled on the last officer introduced as expected. The face and form were not unfamiliar to him owing to their introduction by the being known as Q. She was standing stiffly at attention. “Captain – its agreeable to see you again. Thank you for the transfer.” Her eyes registered recognition, the two having already met. Sekal nodded as he cupped his hands at the small of his back. "Welcome aboard Ensign Hammerfield. Whatever Q's reasoning for expediting your transfer to the ship I believe you will find your new posting agreeable and I have no doubt that your services will prove invaluable on our current mission." The other officer he noted as their eyes met was tall, human and was looking at him curiously as if to determine how best to react to him. “I look forward to serving you and the ship, Sir. She’s a beauty from the specifications that I’ve read.” Sekal nodded. He had heard this word and its derivatives used on a number of occasions by other beings but as the conversation with his father had indicated he was unable to see such. No doubt the USS Hades had been considered that before Saleke had taken it on its inaugurable voyage. "Welcome aboard Ensign Gregory, you will find that there are a number of breaks in the makeup of the ships systems from those that were commonplace in the past such as the warp drive and EPS/ODN routing and flow. Illuminar by my design is a complete departure in a number of areas fron the former standard. Indeed many of the ships StarFleet will be launching in the future will be based on it. This is an opportunity for you to learn its variables firsthand." “With the Captain’s permission, I’ll get to my duty station,” the officer appeared eager to begin his indoctrination into the new routine. Sekal nodded his acceptance and his gaze swept all three. "Ensign Gregory you are dismissed." He then fixed his gaze on Carson. "Yourself as well Lieutenant, I am dismissing you from duty early so that you will have a rest interval before we arrive at Andros. Refresh yourself and take some downtime. I will notify you when we begin to ramp up operations." He then turned back to Hammerfield. "Do you have anything you wish to say or questions before you are dismissed Ensign?" (sekal iyw) (USS Illuminar, Deck 14, Security – Ensign Janice Hammerfield– 0730) Working her way back to security she took a better look around the place slowly letting her gaze run over the area to take in all the detail. A quick double take as she passed a door showed part of the firing range. There had been no room for one of those back on the Othellio so she was shes to make a note to book some time in on it later to make sure she could still pull the trigger as accurately as she could before. “Excuse me,” she grabbed a nearby crewman realising she didn’t actually know where Hammons was there and it was a little to busy to run past looking at everyone collar, “Could you point me to Petty Officer Hammons please?” “Cours’ – nice to see a new face” he smiled back and pointed to one end of the room. “Thank you,” she smiled back and gave a short wave of her hand goodbye. Moving over she could see him at work – his back towards her. “Petty Officer Hammons?” she said gingerly moving up to his side as to hopefully meet his peripheral vision. She didn’t wanting to startle the man too much. (reply: Hammons) “Janice Hammerfield,” she smiled, “I was asked to report into you by Lieutenant Carson. Ive just transferred over.” (reply: Hammons) (Posted by Adam P) (USS Illuminar, Deck 1, Turbolift – Ensign Dieter Gregory – 0710) “Deck 3.” Gregory said. Moments later the door opened and Gregory stepped out. (USS Illuminar, Deck3 – Ensign Dieter Gregory – 0711) Heading to the equipment stores, he found a bored crewman on station there. A very boring job when a ship was underway, unless there was an emergency, then all heck would break loose. “I need to draw an operations repair kit.” Gregory said. The lifeblood of all operations offices, the kit contained the tools necessary to diagnose and affect repair. One never knew when an emergency would arrive and it wasn’t possible to run to get the tools after the fact. “Name?” the crewman asked. “Ensign Dieter Gregory, new on the ship,” he replied. The crewman pulled up a manifest, “Sign here Ensign,” he said. As Gregory signed the manifest, the man brought over the kit. A medium sized rectangular box. Gregory opened it to make sure it was full. Hyper spanner, scanner, sonic driver, flux coupler, tricorder, a section of spanners and miscellaneous tools rounded out the kit. Closing the kit, “Looks good. Thank you.” Slinging the kit over his shoulder, he headed back to the bridge to meet the CPO Tamblyn. It was interesting that a ship this new didn’t have a full complement of operations officers. Well, that just meant more work for Gregory. Something he didn’t mind, as his chief on Deep Space Nine found out. There was nothing like working with his hands, other than fixing waste reclaimation systems. Perhaps he would even have time to start building SPOTS. Some downtime to tinker wouldn’t be remiss, and there wasn’t a Quarks to distract him. (USS Illuminar, Deck1 – Ensign Dieter Gregory – 0745) Returning to the bridge, Gregory looked around to find CPO Tamblyn. Walking over to him, “Morning Chief,” Gregory said to the man. “Lieutenant Peters said I should find you so you can let me know about the mission.” (Reply: Tamblyn, Bridge) (Posted by Tim B) (Bajor- Ashalla- Plaza of the Prophets- Major Tan Filar- 0725) He hadn't gone back to sleep and the sun had been up for over an hour. The air was still cool and since autumn wasn't far away the days would start cooling noticeably soon, not that he expected to be here that long. He certainly hoped not at least. It was still early yet and the Prylar hadn't yet made an appearance. That was both good and bad. Good because he hadn't had to suffer through more of his sermons with new day yet but bad because Herla wasn't there to distract the younger elements who weren't as interested in his peaceful vision. One hundred or more were currently positioned before the barricade and had edged uncomfortably close to it. Half of Filar's men were positioned and ready with the other half in reserve. The two groups glared at one another across the barrier. There was no shouting or cursing... yet but it was only a matter of time he knew. For now he stared into faces that were hard and unforgiving that felt he was standing between them and their promised end. A heretic who would deny the faithful their reward. It wasn't a position he was used to being in. But it wasn't a responsibility he was going to shy away from either. In crowd control stun batons were always the first weapon preferred but the numbers were against him and he knew it. Phasers would have to come into play much more quickly than he liked to keep his position from being overrun. And once such weapons were fired things would spiral downhill quickly. These people only wanted by at the moment but the situation would become personal and crowd control would degenerate into a fight for survival. So far though these people had no leader to urge them onward and that was in his favor. They weren't a combat force and didn't like the idea of pain but if one of them overcame their fear and stepped forward the rest might follow. That was why he kept his eyes moving, inspecting, weighing and trying to determine from whom the threat would come. If that person were taken down fast enough it might rob the rest of their courage. That's when HE made his appearance and caught Filar's attention. This one was the most dangerous because he wore a uniform and wasn't one to shrink from conflict. HE knew what he faced and how to spot a weakness in the defense. HE was the one Filar would have to worry about. "Lieutenant you are in dereliction of your duties." Filar grated as the man appeared in the front rank and faced him. His hand tightened its grip on the stun baton as he met and held his gaze. Lieutenant Kele met his gaze firmly for a moment before speaking. "We have no right to decide the fate of these people Major. That is not our place." Filar was about to speak but he cut him off. "The government does not have the right either." "And you're a fool Seden. This could endanger far more that just your faithful. There is a good reason we are here despite your softhearted misgivings. That's what governments do, they protect their populations from what they feel is right even when it endangers others." Seden shook his head. "This is not some misguided civilian uprising Major, it's a religious ideal that you are standing against. No government has that right and certainly not the one on Bajor." Major Tan didn't flinch. "And that's why it has to be done Lieutenant, because fanaticism alone gives no one the right to decide the fate of others. THAT is why there is a civilian government on Bajor, to counterbalance blind faith." Lieutenant Kele's eyes softened for a moment before he turned and made his way back through the crowd. Some of those around him backed away as well, the man's retreat had disheartened them. The crowd didn't disperse though so he had only bought some time. His gaze went back to searching for threats. (Reply: Not yet, almost there) (Posted by Charles G) (USS Illuminar, Deck 14, Security – SecO– Petty Officer (1st Class) Steven Hammons- 0735) Hammons was verifying the weapons inventory currently, it was just something to do to help get him mentally prepared for the day, if scuttlebutt was true they could be walking into a powder keg and he had no intention of letting it blow up while taking him with it. He planned on doing a walkthrough of the armory shortly but right now the panel he was going through gave a weapon by weapon breakdown of each arms locker. This had been updated recently with the addition of a personal weapon by a name he didn't recognize. He was also wondering when Alaya was planning on setting the wedding day and because of that his normally ever-present grin was even wider than usual this morning. He had never anticipated dating or falling in love with a Betazoid much less an officer and a Counselor? Forget it! "If nothing else I'm guaranteed a squeaky clean mental hygiene regimen." He mumbled then gave a chuckle. “Petty Officer Hammons?” "Present and accounted for." He looked up and turned to face the owner of the unfamiliar voice. They were eighteen days out from Mars with less than two hundred aboard and the only crewman he hadn't really gotten to know was the Lieutenant in flight operations who was about as tight-lipped as a clam and spoke very little outside of standard pleasantries. Yep! He hadn't seen this one aboard before. "I'm sorry but you've got the jump on me sir, I have no idea what your name is." “Janice Hammerfield, I was asked to report into you by Lieutenant Carson. Ive just transferred over.” She was smiling pleasantly and not putting on airs but Steven gave her a short but smart salute anyway. "Pleased to meet you sir. Wait, did you say he told you to report to me?" (Reply: Hammerfield) Steven's grin grew. This was something he could use to tweak Saarsgard's nose with in the future. "That's easy enough and I can supply you with a PADD that details all of the preparations we've put in place for what we're about to get ourselves into. Hang on a sec." He turned and blanked the screen on the terminal. "Follow me." There was a nearby unused office and he led her into it then replicated a PADD and activated the desktop monitor then linked the two. "Computer download a full walkthrough of the ship including security checkpoints and force field nodes. Add the security files for the current mission including holo-training and planning briefings for the security department." [Authorization required.] "Steven Hammons, Petty Officer First Class. Gamma 5, Gold 8." The computer beeped acceptance and the PADD lit up showing that it was in process. He then turned his attention to her while that was happening. "So where to start? Our original mission was to make an appearance with another ship at Bajor to let them see StarFleet's shiny new toys and let them know we're back in business and are there for them but that's gone out the airlock." (Reply: Hammerfield) He shrugged. "Pagh Wraith cultists making trouble led by a Bajoran named Trentin Jost primarily. He's believed to be off planet and the other ship has gone into the Badlands in search of him. What we are now tasked with may or may not have anything to do with him." (Reply: Hammerfield) The PADD beeped the end of the data dump as he sat on the corner of the desk and sighed. "Our information is almost guaranteed to not be complete but I'll tell you what we know. There's trouble in the capitol due to something going on in the temple which may or may not be due to a biological organism or radiation introduced by Jost who it is believed is trying to start a religious war which is the worst kind and guarantees atrocities." He shrugged. "The population is restless so we may find ourselves in the middle of hostilities but the CO plans on introducing science and medical into the temple to help find out what the hell is going on and how to stop it. So we will at the very least be called on to maintain the safety of any who go in. Additionally we will be running quarantine procedures for the ship to make sure nothing gets in. Security has been going through drills on every possible scenario that may arise from it and how we might get involved." (Reply: Hammerfield) "Oh yeah." Steven gave her a sly grin. "Our decontamination and quarantine protocols are going to have to be spot on since we probably won't be doing this from space." He winked. "The CO plans on landing this baby. He believes we can do this more effectively from the ground and Illuminar has landing capability so if he gets the okay we will be hitting dirt." (Reply: Hammerfield) (Posted by Charles G) (USS Illuminar, Deck 14, Security – Ensign Janice Hammerfield - 0736) "Pleased to meet you sir. Wait, did you say he told you to report to me?" "Indeed. I was told that Saarsgard... I hope that I pronounced that right – was preoccupied right now and to come to you,” she looked at him with a puzzled look. Clearly she wasn’t expected by him so tried to help by elaborating further, “Something about mission prep and drills for when we arrive at Bajor.” Steven's grin grew. This was something he could use to tweak Saarsgard's nose with in the future. "I’ve been getting that impression,” she glanced over to the terminal and PADD downloading a fair sized chunk of data into it for her to go through, “I heard the intel on the situation was a bit sparse. Don’t suppose you could help fill in some of the gaps?” He shrugged. "Pagh Wraith cultists making trouble led by a Bajoran named Trentin Jost primarily. He's believed to be off planet and the other ship has gone into the Badlands in search of him. What we are now tasked with may or may not have anything to do with him." "Fun times,” she said sarcastically, “I suppose what makes it scary is that everyone thinks that they are right and no one can see the middle ground when it becomes so... eh... polarised. I hope its just to confined area for now?” She hoped that was the case – trying anything else on a larger scale would no doubt be incrediblely resource intensive in terms of manpower and material. The PADD beeped the end of the data dump as he sat on the corner of the desk and sighed. "Our information is almost guaranteed to not be complete but I'll tell you what we know. She reached over and took the PADD sliding it neatly into one of her pockets to read up on. "Oh yeah." Steven gave her a sly grin. "Our decontamination and quarantine protocols are going to have to be spot on since we probably won't be doing this from space." He winked. "The CO plans on landing this baby. He believes we can do this more effectively from the ground and Illuminar has landing capability so if he gets the okay we will be hitting dirt." “We will need to keep things very tight if that’s the case. I don’t fancy having a checkpoint overrun with religious nut jobs,” she looked at him, “With that type of religious fervour – anything could really happen. Sounds like its getting to a boiling point as is,” (reply Hammons) “How are we going to be running the quarantine – I take it we know roughly what we are looking for?” she asked. Obviously the standard checks would be in place – weapons – explosives – chemicals – restricted equipment but she wondered if there would be more given that he mentioned more about the biological and radioactive potential effects. (reply Hammons) “Understood – do we have any crew concerns as well? Ive not taken a chance too look through the roster, but if some have relations to Bajor maybe we should keep a closer eye on them?” she offered a suggestion not sure if it had already been considered.
