The building was not much bigger than 1500 square feet in total, and had a maximum height of 15 feet only to accommodate the actual transporter. The structure as a whole was built out of mostly wood except for key areas where that material would not suffice. The room had the transport panel of course, but other than that the building was bare. It was as bare bones a Transport Center could be, and that was by design. During the day the Transport Center had a person assigned to the transporter responsibilities, but once the sun went down the Center was locked up and closed. Boone had actually arrived before 0800, but as the Center was closed there wasn't a preferred way to get to Echo Earth. Although there was one area to land space craft it was preferred by the government to only bring space craft to the ground under absolute necessity. Other than that it was seen as disrespectful to do so. A woman by the name of Amelia, a member of the Technical Operations Group also known as TOG, was standing behind the console. She smiled as she watched Boone materialized on the transport pad. "Welcome back Boone." Boone smiled back at Amelia. "Thank you Amelia. How is your pop doing?" "Still a crazy old firecracker. If he ain't shoot'n, he's a sleepin," she responded with a large smile. "Well, I can't stay and talk, I'm due to meet with the committee. I might catch you later." "Glad you remembered to wear the right clothes this time. Go get'em cowboy," she said laughing. As he walked out of the center Amelia's comment made Boone remember the time he visited home during his four year academy term. He made the mistake of wearing his Starfleet Cadet Uniform. The locals voiced their opinion that they weren't happy about that decision, and the government had ultimately backed them up. Boone, when he visited home, would wear clothing that was more fitting to Echo Earth's traditions. It wasn't they were embarrassed or against Boone being in Starfleet, it simply just wasn't the way. Even members of TOG were required to dress in Echo Earth's fashion even though they were very aware of other fashions of other races and times. Boone, in his jeans, long sleeve, buttoned cotton shirt, boots, and oversize hat to protect him from the sun, walked outside. The sun was already blazing, and scorching the planet. He looked back at the structure. He was always amazed how they made the structure look like a barn from Earth's early 1900s, but if only you knew the level of technology that was behind the 4 walls. Which most of the population of Echo Earth did not. It wasn't necessarily against the rules or laws to know about it, it just wasn't the way. Technology was only meant to be known to the TOG members. Other than those members, technology didn't exist on Echo Earth, or at least not in sight on a day to day basis. Boone walked over to one of the horses which was tied to a wooden post. He simply undid the tie and mounted the horse. He had about a mile ride to Echo Earth's largest city and capital, Stonsas. Rebecca grabbed Darpeg hand on her back and with a quick move twisted it behind his back and kept the twist on. Moving up close and pinning to the wall as she growled into his ear. “I have a med kit in my room if needed.” Darpeg was becoming even more excited. His arm really hurt! That was part of the favorite moves of Klingon foreplay. She was ready and willing for sexual combat. He then responded, "Perhaps our time together will be so good that we will both need it." Moving up close and pinning to the wall as she growled into his ear. “I have a med kit in my room if needed.” “Perhaps our time together will be so good that we will both need it." She could see that he was getting ready for combat that the comment was a little bit of a low blow, questioning her skill or strength. Rebecca Slammed Darpeg into the wall dropping the arm lock and moving away from him, it was risky to play with him at this point but it was part of the fun for Rebecca. “I was hoping you would think of me as a warrior and not a week human. You will need it as much as me as long as you are worthy.” (Reply Darpeg) (posted by Giles PJ) (Starfleet Martian Ground Facilities - TSC - Sec, Ens jg Garek Darpeg - 14:20) Rebecca Slammed Darpeg into the wall dropping the arm lock and moving away from him “I was hoping you would think of me as a warrior and not a week human. You will need it as much as me as long as you are worthy.” Darpeg's lust for her intensified, and started breathing hard. He would need all the extra air in his body and lungs for what looked to him to be a glorious mating battle of the sexes. He let a howl and said, "You are definitely a warrior and not a weak Human. You are not only worthy to mate with a Klingon, but the act would be bring honor to us both when we conquer each other in our sexual campaign! As Shakespeare wrote in the original Klingon, "Parting after such sweet battle!" (Reply Flagg) "It loses in translation from Klingon to Seventeenth Century English." (Reply Flagg) (Starbase - Conference Room - Ensign Eva Rosen - 17:05) Eva listened to her aunt realizing that she had so much knowledge that Eva should have waited before answering. Eva decided to sit and listen cause she knew that her aunt was not finished with her answer to the Admiral. (Starbase - Conference Room - Ensign Jaelle Foxglove - 17:010) "Also, we are to develop an intelligence network we are to know what are friends and enemies moves and motives are, what new technologies they are working on and how to leverage that information. We are also skilled in target acquisition." (reply Admiral, iyw) (Starbase - Conference Room - Ensign Jaelle Foxglove - 17:07) Eva's aunt took a few minutes to clear a spot as the Admiral took a seat at the table before them. It was a small device one that she stuck under her own chair. once activated a small dampening field activated barely big enough to cover the table and the occupants that were seated around it, but it was enough to keep their conversation private. "Ensigns", The Admiral spoke as he took a seat, "What are you doing here?" It was a valid question and one she planned to answer, but the Admiral continued. "Very well, Starfleet Intelligence, fine"¦ where do YOU want to begin?",The Admiral said, then sitting back in the chair. Eva had answered first the her aunt began to reply nodding she was right in a sense operational security was important but there were more pressing concerns, that were time sensitive and needed addressed quickly. It was part of the reason Jaelle was chosen for this mission she had a natural distrust for people. It was one of the reasons she kept to herself at the landing pad. She was watching trying to pick out who was loyal to the cause or who was there in support of another faction. "Sir," Her aunt started speaking taking her seat whipping the sliver hair from her face, "The federation as we know it is dead." Her crimson eyes showed no remorse for her blunt remark. "We are here for what was left behind. Mars not only had one of the largest ship yards, but it also had a large experimental research facility. There were experiments that were in the process new technology that if we want to rebuild the federation and become a force in this sector we will need." (reply Admiral, iyw) (posted by Garek Darpeg) (Starbase - Conference Room - Ensign Jaelle Foxglove - 17:20) "I also want to look into the incident that happened on Earth. There are resources and back channels I have access to that can prove useful to bringing light on what actually happened. Sir, I understand that this is quite a bit to take in, and there is still more to cover. As you know what remains of the federation is behind are ability to defend ourselves is... " She lets the words hang in the air, everyone gathered knew what was at stake. "We must make inroads we need something that we can use to equalize our forces give us a fighting chance. We have to have a hand in having more knowledge then our enemy or the federation is going to fall off the knife edge that it currently is." (reply Rosin, Admiral, iyw.) (Starbase - Conference Room - Ensign Eva Rosen - 17:22) Eva agreed what her aunt had siad and was ready to get to work proving what she said. (Starbase - Conference Room - Ensign Jaelle Foxglove - 17:24) "Lastly sir," Jaelle looked to Eva then back at the Admiral. "I know your not gonna take this at the face value of an Ensign fresh from academy, and I sure by now you have speculated that I am nothing of that sort. But my past is long and complicated, needless to say I have work in intelligence before and I was not thrilled in the prospect of returning. I have dirtied my hands before for the federation and I am will to do what is necessary to see that we succeed. If you wish to know who and what I am not is the time to ask, this is information I do not offer lightly." (Starbase - Conference Room - Admiral Remae Ktell - 1725) Remae was listening to them but, when dealing in the shadowy parts of Starfleet, the Bajoran did not like what he heard. The Admiral agreed to the search for anykind of eavesdropping devices on the base, after it, the place was unmanned for a long time, at least from a Starfleet personnel point of view. The civilians had been here from the beginning. Keeping an eye on their neighbours was another good idea; Remae was interested in their technology and what had occurred over the past 20 years. How much had they developed? Ensign Foxglove suggested looking into the incident on Earth from last year and she mentioned her personal history. "Well... Ensigns Foxglove and Rozen, you certainly have given yourselves a full plate to deal with.", the Admiral said and then he looked them both over. "Simply put, I don't trust either of you. My own personal history with Starfleet Intel or other forms Intel isn't good.", he said before adding, "You will both need to work hard to earn my trust, however, that being said, your plans as outlined seem reasonable.", he said taking a PADD he had brought with him. "For now, concentrate your efforts here on Mars, we need a base that is secure before we look at other things.", he said and then added, "Report to me directly on your progress. Dismissed.", he said, concluding their conversation. (Starbase - Conference Room - Ensign Eva Rosen - 1727:) Eva understood where the Admiral was coming from as she remember what she had be told of intelligence and S31 from her mother and aunt when she was growing up. She followed her aunt out of the room. As they departed, Remae took a moment to lean back in his chair with his head against the headrest. (Reply from, A Foxglove, , Any) (Posted by Kierya Rogers
