"I will be interested in your current project. I may learn from it. He added the last bit to get past her personal shielding, and become better colleagues. Rebecca knew that he was right but she was used to having to work long hours, she had been involved in the what the EOD team called the week of Hell, the insurgence had stockpiled devices and then used them in all in the same week at different times to stretch the resources and kill the morel of the teams. Each one a different device including puzzles with in puzzles. It was at the end of it that she was taken out of action by a shot. A quick flash of sadness was viable on Rebecca’s face and she hold her shoulder, maybe if they were not over stretched she might have done something different. But she knew the real truth was that she would do it again under fire if needed to save a hospital full of people. “Well I will be working on it for some time and could use a hand. They left us a load of quite a few torpedoes and even more probes that we can use as torpedoes but they been sitting for far too long without maintains. Each will need testing before they can be fuelled.” (Reply Dagpeg) (posted by Gary) (Starfleet Martian Ground Facilities - TSC - Sec, Ens JG Garek Darpeg - 13:57) “Well I will be working on it for some time and could use a hand. What will be critical will be leaks in their fuel systems." (Reply Flagg) (posted by Gary) (Starfleet Martian Ground Facilities - TSC - Sec, Ens JP Rebecca Flagg - 13:59) Darpeg slipped some more into Vulcan mode and said, "Quite logical. We do need to check on their maintenance, or lack thereof. What will be critical will be leaks in their fuel systems." Rebecca took that as a compliment. "That is one thing antimatter does not leak well, we lucky they make sure all the weapons were drained before the base was left. I am also worried about the guidance systems and gyroscopes, I heard of a few flying a circle hitting the launching ship. I don't think it would go down too well." (Reply Darpeg) "Agreed, Enough talking and time for action." Unzipping her uniform tunic as art to see his reaction and part as it was not the nicest place to work. Rebecca looked at Darpeg with a smile as she slowly turned her back to him as much as she could without losing sight of him. Allowing the Tunic to slip off her shoulders revealing her soft skin only broken by a large scar around her rightsholder. (Reply Darpeg) (posted by Giles PJ) (Starfleet Martian Ground Facilities - TSC - Sec, Ens , jg Ensign Farek Darpeg - 14:04) Darpeg slipped some more into Vulcan mode and said, "Quite logical. We do need to check on their maintenance, or lack thereof. What will be critical will be leaks in their fuel systems." Rebecca continued,. "That is one thing antimatter does not leak well, we're lucky they made sure all the weapons were drained before the base was left. I am also worried about the guidance systems and gyroscopes, I heard of a few flying a circle hitting the launching ship. I don't think it would go down too well." Darpeg thought for a second, raised an eyebrow, and said, Then our first plan of action would be a firing simulation in which a nonvolitile mixture is run through the fuel system, and guidance system is linked up with the simulation routines." "Agreed, Enough talking and time for action." The Earth woman then began to take off her tunic, revealing a scar on her right shoulder. His Klingon half wanted to take advantage of the situation, but he had to use his Vulcan side to keep his libido in check. Also, Humans had trouble with the roughness of Klingon mating. Fortunately, his dual Klingon stomach was telling him that it needed food. "Perhaps we should break for the mid day meal. We are beginning to exceed the allowable time between meals." We are beginning to exceed the allowable time between meals." Rebecca though she notices a reaction to her strip dispute his valcan side, but she had no idea where things where going. This is something that excited Rebecca and she could not resist shearing a meal with someone. Slipping her tunic over her shoulder like a jacket. "it would be my pleasure to partake in a meal with you." (Reply Darpeg) Rebecca smiled and Darpeg "Maybe get to known each other a little better or put a full plan in place." (Reply Darpeg iyw) She made her way to the door as she got close to Derpeg in a loud whisper. "If your wandering, I am not as fragile as I look." (Reply Darpeg) (posted by Giles PJ) (Runabout – Rear Cabin – Medical Officer/Counselor Ensign J.G. Quinna Solace – 14:30) (Flashback) Quinna was sitting in a shuttle with the Admiral and Ensign Bracken. She looked at both officers and wondered what was going on. Why would Ensign Bracken include her? They were all sitting in silence, Quinna broke the silence, “Are you OK?” Though this was out of protocol, someone needed to say something. (Ktell and Bracken Reply) (NPRG: thought I would be restarting this story line.) (Runabout – Rear Cabin - Admiral Remae Ktell – 15:25) Remae was talking to his pilots during their induction flight, Ire Williams had a couple of other questions for his Admiral. “Sir. Do you have a time frame in mind for us to do this? And when do you think we will be expanding out from Mars.” "Time frame? Best guess? A year - there is no modelling for this kind of thing... we'll take it as it comes.", he said before consider the second part of the question. "There are lots of other facilities out there, some are operational, some are not. Most, we're not in contact with, and we do not know their status. We'll find out in due course.", he added. The runabout continued on its way while the pilots continued to discuss their plans for what they were going to do next. (Reply from Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (Mars Surface –Hanger Bay 2 Alpha – CONN, ENS JG Trip Williams - 16:40) The race had been hard fought, but Ire won, by mere seconds, but he won. Ire was far and away the better pilot, Trip never doubted it. Ire specialized in small craft, Trip was a Stellar Cartography major who chose flight ops as his career paths because he would rather fly than be stuck in a lab. But he was more of a navigator than a pilot. He was obviously a capable pilot, but when it came to small craft he wasn't as instinctual. With larger craft, like a Starship, he was more proficient, especially due to navigational components. Still he felt good that Ire didn't absolutely blow him out of the water. Trip even led for a time, he was able to navigate a sling shot around Phobos that gave him a bit of a lead, but it wasn't as easy to fly with a lead as he thought, Ire was able to get past him. Still, he was happy that the fighter held up. As he left the Peregrine and walked over to Ire he put out his hand in a gesture of friendship. "Well done Ire, well done." (reply Ire) Trip then walked over to a board on the back of the hangar that listed all the flight personnel and their flight status. "At some point we are going to have to figure out how to make this work." (Reply Ire) "Hey looks like we have a late arrival," Trip said as he pointed to a third officer on the board, "Looks like we might not be the only two." (Reply Ire) "Ensign Ravok Shara, alright then," Trip paused, "I'll send a message to him. Then maybe we could get a meeting together, something informal. lets say my quarters, tomorrow at 10:00 hours." (reply Ire) (posted by Will Banowsky) (Mars Surface – Hanger Bay 2 Alpha - CONN - Ensign JG - Ire Williams - 1645) Ire carefully climbed out of his fighter and stood on the deck. It had been a close-run thing he had just slipped past at the last minute. Watching Trip steam past him as he sling shot around Phobos had been an eye opener and Ire had wondered if he could do that on fighter what would he be like with a starship. Trip can over and put out his hand. “Well done Ire, well done.” Ire shook it and smiled. “It was so close. I would not have wanted to bet money on it.” Trip walked over to the board of all the flight personnel that we had in the squadron which was displayed in the back wall. “At some point we are going to have to figure out how to make this work.” Ire moved next to him and nodded as he looked at all the names. “Its definitely going to be a challenge having enough CAP cover without exhausting the crews. But I guess that’s why the admiral chose us.” “Hay looks like we have a late arrival.” Ire looked at where Trip was pointing. “Looks like we might not be the only two.” Ire nodded. “That’s going to be good. We are spread a bit thin as it is.” “Ensign Ravok Shara, alright then,” “I’ll send a message to him. Then maybe we could get a meeting together, something informal. Let’s say my quarters at 11:00 hours.” Ire nodded again. “Not a problem.” He indicated the board full of names. “I will have a go putting people into flights before we get together and see if I can come up with something half decent.” (Reply Trip) (Reply Trip, any) (Posted by Robbie) (Starbase - Conference Room - Ensign Jaelle Foxglove - 17:07) Jaelle took a few minutes to clear a spot as the Admiral took a seat at the table before them. It was a small device one that she stuck under her own chair. once activated a small dampening field activated barely big enough to cover the table and the occupants that were seated around it, but it was enough to keep their conversation private. “Ensigns…”, The Admiral spoke as he took a seat, “What are you doing here?” It was a valid question and one she planned to answer, but the Admiral continued. “Very well – Starfleet Intelligence, fine… where do YOU want to begin?”, he said, sitting back in the chair. Her niece started "Sir I think that we need to do a complete search of the base to see if there are any unwanted devices around. I know it is a large task but necessary as we do not want what we do leaking out to unwanted ears. First areas will be the most sensitive like research and development and the like." Jaelle nodded she was right in a sense operational security was important but there were more pressing concerns, that were time sensitive and needed addressed quickly. It was part of the reason Jaelle was chosen for this mission she had a natural distrust for people. It was one of the reasons she kept to herself at the landing pad. She was watching trying to pick out who was loyal to the cause or who was there in support of another faction. "Sir," Jaelle spoke taking her seat whipping the sliver hair from her face, "The federation as we know it is dead." Her crimson eyes showed no remorse for her blunt remark. "We are here for what was left behind. Mars not only had one of the largest ship yards, but it also had a large experimental research facility. There were experiments that were in the process new technology that if we want to rebuild the federation and become a force in this sector we will need." (reply Rosin, Admiral, iyw) "Also, we are to develop an intelligence network we are to know what are friends and enemies moves and motives are, what new technologies they are working on and how to leverage that information. We are also skilled in target acquisition." Jaelle took a deep breath she was still getting used to the new color of her skin. It felt familiar and at the same time not, like her reflection was not her own. (reply Rosin, Admiral, iyw) "I also want to look into the incident that happened on Earth. There are resources and back channels I have access to that can prove useful to bringing light on what actually happened. Sir, I understand that this is quite a bit to take in, and there is still more to cover. As you know what remains of the federation is behind are ability to defend ourselves is... " She lets the words hang in the air, everyone gathered knew what was at stake. "We must make inroads we need something that we can use to equalize our forces give us a fighting chance. We have to have a hand in having more knowledge then our enemy or the federation is going to fall off the knife edge that it currently is." (reply Rosin, Admiral, iyw.) "Lastly sir," Jaelle looked to Eva then back at the Admiral. "I know your not gonna take this at the face value of an Ensign fresh from academy, and I sure by now you have speculated that I am nothing of that sort. But my past is long and complicated, needless to say I have work in intelligence before and I was not thrilled in the prospect of returning. I have dirtied my hands before for the federation and I am will to do what is necessary to see that we succeed. If you wish to know who and what I am not is the time to ask, this is information I do not offer lightly." (reply Admiral, Eva) (posted by Matthew Locke) (Starbase - Conference Room - Admiral Remae Ktell – 1725) Remae was listening to his intelligence officers, Ensign Jaelle and Ensign Rozen and as usual, when dealing in the shadowy parts of Starfleet, the Bajoran did not like what he heard. The Admiral agreed to the search for anykind of eavesdropping devices on the base, after it, the place was unmanned for a long time, at least from a Starfleet personnel point of view. The civilians had been here from the beginning. Keeping an eye on their neighbours was another good idea; Remae was interested in their technology and what had occurred over the past 20 years. How much had they developed? The intel officer suggested looking into the incident on Earth from last year and she mentioned her personal history. "Well... Ensigns Foxglove and Rozen, you certainly have given yourselves a full plate to deal with.", he said and then he looked them both over. "Simply put, I don't trust either of you. My own personal history with Starfleet Intel or other forms Intel isn't good.", he said before adding, "You will both need to work hard to earn my trust, however, that being said, your plans as outlined seem reasonable.", he said taking a PADD he had brought with him. "For now, concentrate your efforts here on Mars, we need a base that is secure before we look at other things.", he said and then added, "Report to me directly on your progress. Dismissed.", he said, concluding their conversation. As they departed, Remae took a moment to lean back in his chair with his head against the headrest. ~ Why can't anything be simple? ~ (Reply from Foxglove, Rozen, Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (Mars Facilities - Officers Mess - ENS jg Counselor Ariel Trei - 21.35) She was asked what martial arts style she was trained with. She really didn't have a specific style. It was the path of the warrior is all she knew. "I was trained with the Path of the Warrior. Whatever was done during that time, I learned. Tell me about your piolet training. I imagine the sights and sounds are amazing breaking atmosphere." (Reply Ire Williams) (Posted by Edward) (Mars Facilities - Officers Mess – CONN – Ensign (JG) – Ire Williams - 21.37) "I was trained with the Path of the Warrior. Whatever was done during that time, I learned. Tell me about your piolet training. I imagine the sights and sounds are amazing breaking atmosphere." Ire saw the change in subject the accepted it. He sipped his drink and smiled. “Pilot training was a lot harder that I though. I had been flying ships since I was small due to living on the Road Runner and then spending time with my Aunt on the Free booster but once I got to the Academy is all changed. I can get my craft from A to B but it was all about tactics and manoeuvres, flying in formation making sure that you know where you are and where your squadron mates are in a certain place and space in space so that you don’t cause a hazard for anyone else.” He paused for a moment realising that he was side tracking. “I think the most amazing thing was braking orbit for the first time. We had been squashed into a small shuttle to do out orbital escape drills where they make us free fall back to earth and deploy the parachutes. Seeing the earth below in all her beauty and then watching it come speeding towards you as you are dropping into the atmosphere was properly the most wonderous and frightening experience of my life.” (Reply Trei) (Reply Trei, any) (Posted by Robbie) (Mars Facilities - Officers Mass – CONN - Ensign (IG) – Ire Williams - 21.41) "I imagine having that experience falling into Betazed. It would be a beautiful experience. I can also imagine the empathic rush hitting me on freefall. That experience would not be fun." “I can see how that would be scary.” Ire nodded as he thought about that and was glad that he was empathic. “Are you looking forward to getting off Mars and doing a bit of traveling? Or are you more of a planet side person?” (Reply Trei) (Reply Teri) (Posted by Robbie) (Mars Facilities - Officers Mess - ENS jg Counselor - Ariel Trei - 21.43) She was asked if she would like to stay on Mars or explore space. She wanted to explore space. "I want to explore space. Until the ship is ready to go I will help this station and the residents of mars." (Reply Ire iyw) (Posted by Edward)
