History, Education and Skills
Family and Background :

Paul’s father and mother’s identities are highly classified. However, his sister Sarah Morphy is well known for an adequate Starfleet record. She served as an operations officer aboard the ill fated USS Gryphon (as one of several survivors). After the war she returned to earth to accept a commission as an instructor at the academy. Paul and Sarah haven’t spoken since an unspecified incident occurred, although Sarah has attempted contact.

Education

:

Because his childhood interests encompassed things from detective holonovels to ‘Youth Marine Training Scenarios’ Paul was always destined for an education in violence. He never did well in traditional school but was accepted into the Marine’s when his application for admission was filed with a bent combadge with the words “P. Morphy 1 mile” etched into it.

Pre-Starfleet History

:

A brief stint as a marine-in-training taught Paul that his true passion was in the designing of weapons rather than the Neanderthal ‘smash-and-grab’ life of a Marine. Telling a drill sergeant that you’d rather design and build a weapon than fire twenty is speaking Greek. Frustrated with the Marine Corp. Paul joined up in the fleet ranks as an engineering officer. His marksmanship scores were impressive but his real accomplishment as a marine is holding a ‘deconstruction’ record for a MK107D experimental assault rifle (including exhaust reconstitution manifold disassembling, unnecessary for the record).

Medical History

:

Other than a history of blood and bruises from brawls Paul is relatively in good health. He prides himself with having never been hit in the face.

Skills

:

Paul is a gifted engineer but has no personal drive to succeed in the pursuit. He’d rather be serving aboard a starbase and allowing his creative juices to flow while he designs and builds any type of weaponry. He can be found mostly loafing around and entertaining himself. He’s very good at looking like he’s accomplishing something.

Other Information
Hobbies :

On top of his love for target shooting, Paul is a known prankster and is not above the occasional whoopy cushion or dead squirrel. His victims are usually those who have caused him some perceived injury or who seem easy targets. He is most fond of tormenting fellow engineers.

Awards :

Admiral Bell threw her arms around the Ensign, "You don't have to be scared anymore, you don't have to be guilty anymore, you are not responsible for what that madman did to you.", she said to her quietly and for a moment longer, releasing her from the embrace. "It's going to take time, its going to be a toll... I will be right here, and I am not going anywhere."
