RJ is tall and well formed with no visable scars or tattoos. He wears his light brown hair short and combed back. He is clean shaven and his most striking feature is his blue eyes.

Richard is the only child of a Starship Designer mother and a retired Starfleet Engineer. As a child he did not see his father much as he was often assigned as an engineer in the Galaxy Exploration Command. His fathers stories of his life on a starship and his mothers occupation instilled in RJ a passion for Starships and Engineering.
When RJ was in his teens his father retired following a plasma leak accident which left him scarred and bitter. Not wishing to oppose his father he put his dreams of joining Starfleet on the shelf and took a job in the Orbital Shipyards where his natural ability as an engineer was nurtured.
When Richards father passed away his mother encouraged him to persue his dreams of joining Starfleet. At the age of 29 RJ was one of the oldest in his Academy class, but he was finally where he wanted to be...in Starfleet.
