History, Education and Skills
Family and Background :

Aleks grew up in a large family in Slovenia, but being the youngest he was often left out of the 'main action' (in his words). This slight alienation led to him becoming something of a sticky-beak, and his curiosity often got him into trouble - both with his older siblings and friends. When he moved to London he became fixated on computer simulations and helped to develop a line of recreational games for a private company. After his father died, when Aleks was 25, the computer industry just didn't seem as worthwhile as it had been initially, and so Aleks began to apply for a position in Starfleet.

Education

:

Completed his secondary schooling in Ljubljana and then moved to London to study computer science. After several years working in the private sector, Aleks was accepted into Starfleet Academy and moved to San Francisco.

Pre-Starfleet History

:

A lot of Aleks' early years were taken up with software development and very little social interaction, which has resulted in him being something of an unusual and possibly annoying person. He hadn't really ever made friends - just work associates. His work in the private sector in London was well received although he never gained the recognition he thought he was entitled to.

Starfleet History

:

As a graduate, Aleks Jokic was first assigned to the Bojan Station in Edano Mel system where he worked as an operations officer, mostly tending to the comings and goings of shuttles and personnel. He stayed on Bojan for three years before being transferred to a ship, the USS Spectre, where he has been serving ever since.

Medical History

:

Jokic suffered a dislocated disc during the ambush at Vedea IV and was put on 24 hours leave. Apart from that 'battle injury' Jokic has several allergies which tend to crop up when he needs an excuse to leave a situation. Such allergies have included animals, certain perfumes and foods.

Skills

:

Jokic is a capable operations specialist and has a good knowledge of ships' engineering as well as the internal systems. Since joining the Spectre he has often helped out the engineering department in areas such as the holodecks. Having being an ensign for the past three years, Jokic doesn't seem to have the ambition to go further in Starfleet, being happy to be in his allotted place.

Other Information
Hobbies :

Watching vids and tinkering with projects that never really get beyond the initial planning and prototype stages.

General Notes

:

Aleks is room mates with Ensign Nico Tchaikovsky, and the two have formed a good friendship, which is something of a first for Aleks. As the older of the two, Aleks has sometimes taken on the role of 'mentor' to Nico - which hasn't always been understood or appreciated.

Awards :

Admiral Bell threw her arms around the Ensign, "You don't have to be scared anymore, you don't have to be guilty anymore, you are not responsible for what that madman did to you.", she said to her quietly and for a moment longer, releasing her from the embrace. "It's going to take time, its going to be a toll... I will be right here, and I am not going anywhere."
