History, Education and Skills
Family and Background :

Born to Sandrine Girard, the owner of a small shuttle repair shop in Lyon, France. His father left his mother when he discovered his wife was pregnant. Marcel grew up around machines, his mother teaching him everything she knew about them (which was a considerable amount). When Marcel was 12 years old, a group of bloodthirsty, off-world thugs led by a crazed Klingon named Jarl moved into Lyon, with the goal of controlling the businesses in the area. Sandrine refused to service their vehicles, and as a result, they laid explosive charges in the shop and detonated them, killing Sandrine. Marcel survived, only because he was delivering a repaired shuttle in Paris. Upon returning home, he found his mother dead, and himself an orphan with no prospects.

Education

:

Starfleet Academy

Pre-Starfleet History

:

His mother's troubles with Jarl unknown to him, thinking his mother dead by accident, Marcel didn't know where to turn. The sadistic Jarl recruited Marc as his own private mechanic and enforcer, teaching him combat techniques that made him a formidable opponent. The crimes that Marcel committed are unknown, but under Jarl's tutelage, he became a different man from the kind and gentle one his mother had taught him to be. It is during this time that Marcel got the tattoo on his left shoulder. Marcel eventually rose to be Jarl's right hand man, the truth of his mother's death still unknown to him. When Marcel turned 18, he was sent off world on a task by Jarl, and did not return. He spent 6 years on a small human colony in the Alpha Centauri system. He returned from the system a different man, with a desire to help and heal and atone for the things he has done. He enrolled in Starfleet Academy.

Starfleet History

:

Medical History

:

He has nothing, excepting the scar that goes across his face.

Skills

:

Marcel is skilled at piloting small craft, basic mechanic work, and though he is commonly saying I'm in the business of saving, not taking, he is very skilled with his fists and smaller weapons. He is fluent in French, English, and a small amount of Klingon. After his time in the Alpha Centauri system, he showed great aptitude for medicine, graduating in the top of his class at Starfleet Academy.

Other Information
Hobbies :

Marcel enjoys watching television programs (particularly sitcoms) from the 20th century. He spends quite a bit of time in the holodeck performing many physical activities. He also enjoys cooking his own food, something he learned from his mother, not having had a replicator.

General Notes

:

Despite his mysterious past, Marcel (preferring to be known as Marc) has a very sardonic, easygoing personality--one might not know that he has had such a troubled past.

Awards :

Awarded Captains Commendation: For outstanding service in the presence of a new life form and acting as an exemplary officer and a moral compass for the Command Staff.

Admiral Bell threw her arms around the Ensign, "You don't have to be scared anymore, you don't have to be guilty anymore, you are not responsible for what that madman did to you.", she said to her quietly and for a moment longer, releasing her from the embrace. "It's going to take time, its going to be a toll... I will be right here, and I am not going anywhere."
