Varios was raised by the Haemachuo organisation and did not meet his biological parents until he was 10. This is standard practice for Al-Leyan culture but the result is that he has little connection with his family and feels closer to his Haemachuo and the other 3 children he was raised alongside. He still keeps in touch with them on a regular basis via subspace calls.

Worked as a receptionist for a busy hospital, dreaming of the day that he would be the one administering aid to the poorly.

The Al-Leyan homeworld has a more dense atmosphere than that produced on StarFleet vessels. He requires steroid based medication to counter the symptoms of asthma he suffers from breathing the thinner atmosphere.

Like most of his people Varios is meticulous in his work. He has the patience to work through difficult problems and find creative solutions but does not like to be rushed.

Varios likes to watch games of Qu'cha which is the Al-Leyans most popular sport. He also enjoys watching baseball as the rules are not too dissimilar.

Varios, as is typical for his people in that his sense of smell and taste is dreadful. He has great hearing and can hear great detail even from far distances. He needs to wear glasses during the day so that their visual acuity is good enough to carry out their daily duties. During dim light and the darkness of night their vision is about six times better than a human's. He is also physical strength greater than that of an average humanoid due to having a denser muscular fibres.
