"Of course Mr Arique come right down." He waited untill Kendren entered sickbay. he got up and ushered him to a bio-bed. "Now Mr Arique I'm going to ask you a few questions and and run some scanns is that okay?" (reply Arique) "Okay can I have your full name for the record." (reply Arique) "Do you have any present conditions that I should know about?" (reply Arique) "Do you have any past medical history." (reply Arique) He activated the bio0bed scaners and began taking scanss. "Is there any conditions in your family that I should be aware about." (reply Arique) "have you had any sexual relations resently with a member for your or another speshies. Sorry have to ask that one." (reply Arique) "are you allergic to any thing that you know of?" (reply Arique) (reply Arique, any) (posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - Ensign Kedren Arique - 16.55) Kedren entered the sickbay, it was a clean and well ordered atmosphere, as he'd expect of such medical places, he'd seen plenty of them as he'd had his check-ups after his accident and to make sure that his body wasn't rejecting the man-machine interfaces that he had designed. After some initial greetings the medical examination went underway. "Now Mr Arique I'm going to ask you a few questions and and run some scanns is that okay?" "Certainly, go ahead, although be careful, some of the part in my prosthetics tend to give odd results on medical scans, my own tri-corder has been adjusted to cope, you may want to take a data-copy" "Okay can I have your full name for the record." "Kedren Arique, no middle names or anything like that" "Do you have any present conditions that I should know about?" "Errr....yes, my left arm and leg are no more after an accident with an unstable power source, they are now replaced with custom built prosthetics as you can see, they tend to slow me down somewhat due to being quite heavy, although if I can get the power supply smaller and lighter for my prosthetics I'm sure I could minimise a few more things and thus make myself lighter and faster" "Do you have any past medical history." "Only the usual spat of child-hood illness and injuries, nothing serious" He activated the bio0bed scaners and began taking scans. (Unless Doctor Williams took that data-copy of Kedren's tri-corder, then the bio-bed is likely to make some odd beeps and give some very strange results......) "Is there any conditions in your family that I should be aware about." "Only that they are dead, there's no history of anything serious in my family" "have you had any sexual relations resently with a member for your or another species. Sorry have to ask that one." "Not for years I'm afraid, since the accident I'm sterile" "are you allergic to any thing that you know of?" "Use to be, but since I've had these man to machine interfaces I've lost my allergy to peanuts" He glanced at the PADD. "okay that looks like it. is ther anything you would like to ask me?" "Certainly Doctor, I've been given to believe that we may be able to work together on getting my prosthetics to a more functional stage, even though I passed my Starfleet exam I'm not exactly your typical Starfleet officer, I'm some-what hampered by my own devices, so I may need some assistance in reducing the size and weight of my power-source and completely re-designing my exo-skeleton, hopefully to still give me the stability I need, but make me a bit more.....mobile?" Korak was mildly surprised to hear that the Commander was already aware of Lieutenant T’Rok, but the explanation was logical enough: “It was contained within the downloaded files of Betazzed outpost four and was recovered during a covert mission to release a prisoner held there. Of course Command has been unable to identify him and he has remained little more than a shadow in their investigations.” “Unfortunately, I do not think this shadow will turn out to be larger than the fact. He has already proven a resourceful and imaginative tactician.” “Perhaps you could work with Counsellor Taxia on this matter. The implantation of another’s Katra will leave certain… traces, as you well know.” Korak inclined his head acknowledging both the unspoken effects they were thinking of and his assent to working with the ship’s Counsellor. “I am uncertain how well he will respond to the Betazoids and other telepaths aboard your ship. Our time together on Betazed showed him to be… unpredictable in his reactions. I shall speak with your Counsellor about it.” “And what of you agent Korak? What are your intentions now that you have… returned to the fold, so to speak?” The question was a logical follow-on from their previous discussions but Korak was still caught off-guard. He was expecting there to be some come-back from his decision to abandon his mission on Betazed and rescue the Andorian ensign. “As I cannot resume my mission on Betazed, I assume I shall be reassigned to a task within the fleet. Perhaps there is a function I could perform aboard this vessel until we return to starbase.” The meeting ended the only way it could. Korak was welcomed aboard the Spectre, but warned that he was not a member of her crew. Not yet. Everything would be run through the admiralty, and until that time he was a spare part. He was led out onto the Bridge by a security guard. (Reply None) (Posted by Michael Drake) (USS Spectre, Korak’s Quarters – Agent Korak – 2155) “…Is there anything else I can get you, sir?” As they’d walked through the ship, Korak had held his back straight, his head high. Not only was good posture better for the body, it also helped create an impact on the ship’s personnel passing them by. From the firm stride of his boots on the deck - calculated to force his guards to keep up, whilst not being so fast that they’d ask him to slow down - to the serene, logical, impassivity of his face, everything about him oozed confidence and authority. Inwardly he arched an eyebrow at the word “sir”. “No. Thank you, Ensign. I shall rest now.” The doors closed behind him and he was alone for the first time since leaving Betazed. He lay down on the bed. “Computer, send a voice message to the Chief Counsellor’s quarters,” he paused whilst the computer bleeped in confirmation, “My name is Korak. I arrived with Ensign H’Chir and have been advised to speak with you regarding the unusual circumstances he has endured and how best to proceed. I require rest now, but will be available by ship’s morning. Please schedule a meeting at a convenient time.” (Reply Taxia, any) (Posted by Michael Drake) ========================================================================= Mission: The Sword of Damocles Day 2 Stardate 2407.02.03 (USS Spectre – Ensign Arique’s quarters – 0530) Kedren was used to waking early usually to get on with studies, on his first starship that was no different, after the usuall morning washes and checks of prosthetics and opther required activities to make sure he was ready for the day Kedren replicated a large mug of tea and sat down at the small desk in his quarters. Kedren reviewed the dataPADD with Doctor Williams’s ideas on, there were certainly worth contemplating and Kedren looked forward to the trials that they had planned on the Holodeck, between them they ought to be able to reduce the size and ungainliness of Kedren’s prosthetics and possibly come up with an entirely new exo-skeleton that would actually be able to go under a uniform instead of over it as Kedren’s currently did. Kedren had not really had the chance to work closely with a doctor before, back on earth they had always been too busy, but here the doctor would not always be healing someone…..well hopefully. Now that his studies had finished Kedren may also find more time to work upon his idea, although now he had a lack of materials, still he had brought some things with him that ought to allow the design of new prosthetics, although he wasn’t certain how he’d manage to reduce the size of the power supply here, maybe use some of the Spectre’s spares. After reading the entire contents of the dataPADD Kedren stood and check the store box in his leg, one K-HUD (Kedren’s custom built multi-function Head-Up Display), some tools (just in case his prosthetics played up at an inconvenient moment) and a chocolate bar (for hunger emergencies). He then checked the tri-corder in his arm, the display was fine and it didn’t need re-calibrating, now to meet Lt. Angeletti….or was it too early? “Computer.” The ship’s computer chirped in response. “Can you locate and relay this message to Lt. Angeletti: Ensign Arique to Lt. Angeletti, apologies if I’ve woken you up, but I like to start early, where can we meet to discuss my engineering duties?” (Reply Angeletti) The computer confirmed the sending of the message, which left Kedren waiting for a response; he filled the time by making a couple of changes to CMO Williams suggestions on the dataPADD. (Reply Angeletti) (Posted by Trevor Jones) (USS Spectre - Main Engineering - ACEO - Lt. (JG) Chenoll - 0531) Chenoll stood over two enlisted men, who were bending over replacing a critical part of a computer terminal in Main Engineering. She had a warm mug of coffee and sipped it, watching them go about their work. She turned away and walked back to the Master Control Console and entered a few commands with one hand. The outline of the Spectre changed from showing the interior decks to showing the warp field. ~Everything is nominal,~ she thought. [Incoming Message for Chief Engineer,] the computer informed Chenoll. ~What?~ She thought. Lt. Angeletti was on leave for the next day or so, so did that make Chenoll the on-duty Chief Engineer? She walked over to the Chief Engineer's Station and sat down and hit a few commands. Soon, a message appeared. [Ensign Arique to Lt. Angeletti, apologies if I’ve woken you up, but I like to start early, where can we meet to discuss my engineering duties?] Chenoll grinned softly and started typing a reply to be sent to Ensign Arique. [Ensign, Angeletti is on leave at the moment, however, if you come down to Engineering, I can assign you some duties and I can assign you some interim duties] She wrote, before sending the message. (reply Arique) With the message sent, Chenoll stood up and walked back over to the two men, and watched them continue their repair. "Son of a..." Rogers started, "We've got nothing. We're flying blind," "Hold on, this might get roug-..." The shuttle hit. Andrew was hurled agenst his restrants. she shuttle came to a jaring holt. "Every one alright?" Rogers asked. "Shaken, not stirred" said Guildford "Uh, yes sir, I'm fine." "Any landing you can walk away from is a good thing." Andrew got up slowly. his body acked all over. "Won't feel like it in the morning." he muttered. Andrew grabbed his personal medikit adn stowed the ramanes of the shuttles medikit back in the cuboard. "I've got the target. He's roughly an 1/8th mile south. We should move quickly..." Rogers said. Andrew followed them out of the shuttle and onto the surface of Alpha Onias III. Andrew followed them both and found a man lying on the floor. "You must be President Nell's aide. I am Lt. Rogers, First officer of the USS Spectre", said Rogers. Andrew saw that there was a woman laying deeper inside the lifepod. He squeezed past the others and knelt next to her. He quickly opened his medikit and scanned her with the tricorder. he did not really need the tricorder to say why she had died the way her head was twisted almost 180 degrees, said it for its self but one never new. But it was not the case this time. "Yes, sir. Lets get you out of here," said Rogers. Andrew turned back and helped to move Castigan out of the shuttle. He quickly scanned him with the tricorder. "Okay you have a fractured tibia and fibula. That's the worst the rest is just superficial. I'll give you some analgesia and I'll imobilise your leg so that we can get you out of here." Andrew gave him some powerful pain killers and placed small supports around Castigan's lower leg. "Okay your good to go." Andrew quickly packed his away his medikit. "We can`t leave her here like that", said Unaru, "we must take her back with us" Andrew rested a hand on the Castigan's shoulder. "Don't worry I'll bring her." Andrew went over to the woman. He opened a medikit and pulled out a 'body bag' "Sorry about this." He quicly sealed the woman inside and picked her up. he followed the others at a respectable distance. Walking in through the door of Ten Forward it was quite empty, the chef stood ready to take orders for prepared food and a couple of replicators were in the wall on the other side of the room, Kedren pondered for a moment and then approached the chef. “Can you do a full English breakfast?” Kedren asked the Chef. “Hmmmm……yeah I think so, shall I start on it now?” “If you could please.” Kedren moved to one of the many empty tables in the lounge and waited for his breakfast, he hadn’t missed the look from the chef, he’d probably get more of those as he met more of the crew, people were always curious as to what had happened to him, medical since had become so advanced that people with his prosthetics were not often seen, but then many did not have his desire to build their own prosthetics. Kedren pulled the dataPADD out of his leg compartment and studied it some more while he waited for his breakfast, if Angeletti didn’t get back to him after he’d finished his breakfast then he might make a visit to a Holodeck to see what he could do with the doctors suggestions, there was definitely some worthy ideas there and workable. "You guys gonna be alright back here?" said James as he moved towards the front. Andrew smiled slightly. "As long as your take off`s are better then your landings." He felt the shuttle lift off and climb steeply. ~looks like some one wants to get home~ Andrew relxed a bit as the shuttle left the atmosphere and headed to the Spectre. When they had landed Guildford and Rogers came into the rear of the shuttle. "Good job, gentlemen. Doc, maybe you should get him to Sickbay for a complete medical check. I'll inform T'Vhor," Rogers said, before walking out "I'll help you" James said, helping Castigan out of the shuttle, "I'll be there in a moment." Andrew called after them. He walked over to the 'body bag' he opened it until he could see her face. he placed his hand on the side if her face. "Its okay your home now." He paused for a moment and then sealed the body bag. he taped his comm badge. "Dr Williams to transporter room 2 I have a body to be transported to the morgue." "The Warbird remains on it`s present course sir....... her shields are raised but her disruptors are powered down", said the tactical chief. Keira breathed a sigh of relief. She didn’t know why, but the Romulan vessel slowed on it’s approach, buying them the six minutes they needed to get their shuttle safely aboard. "The Romulan vessel has just dropped out of warp & is now hailing us", said the Tactical chief. "On screen", said T`Vhor & all at once the aggrieved face of the Romulan Commander appeared before them. "Commander", said T`Vhor "how may I help you?" The Romulan replied in typical snide fashion, but Keira wasn’t listening. She was surreptiously trying to run scans on the Romulan vessel, to see if they could learn anything new. She knew that if she was caught doing so, the Romulans might see it as an act of war and attack, so she was being very careful. In truth, she was more worried about how T’Vhor might react if he knew what she was doing. "Then I trust you will be departing shortly", said T`Vhor, making Keira look up. The Romulan smiled & simply nodded to indicate that would be so. "Then I will bid you farewell", said T`Vhor. "Until we meet again", said the Romulan with yet another smile as the viewscreen returned abruptly to it`s familiar starfield once more. "Lieutenant Vasilyovna, what is the status of the federation shuttle now?", said T`Vhor turning to the tactical chief again. "It is currently awaiting further orders five thousand kilometres astern at bearing one nine one mark two four sir", said Yelena. "Ensign Aiden, inform the shuttle that they may dock as soon as they are ready please", said T`Vhor addressing the Ops Officer. Keira opened the comms to the shuttle and relayed the order. “Shuttle approaching, Sir,” she informed T’Vhor. "Conn prepare to break orbit once the shuttle has docked, set a course for the Barradas system, engage at warp four for a period of thirty minutes to distance us from this location & then bring us to a full stop", said T`Vhor. Keira listened as T’Vhor issued orders to the rest of the crew and looked at the results of her scans. It all seemed pretty ordinary… Wait! She double checked just to make sure. “Captain,” she turned to T’Vhor. “I did a bioscan of the Romulan vessel, Sir,” she said, wincing slightly as she saw T’Vhor’s eyebrow rise in a weird combination of interest and displeasure. She ignored it as best she could and continued: “They have a human aboard, Sir.” (Reply T’Vhor, Any) (Posted by Arnaud Malherbe) (USS Spectre - Bridge – CO T`Vhor - 06:43) T`Vhor had been relieved that the Romulan vessel had finally departed the system, they had not noticed the return of the shuttle from the surface of Alpha Onias III & for that he was as pleased as a Vulcan hybrid could be. The other shuttle was now on an approach vector as requested but the Ops officer had clearly been concerned about something else. The Spectre itself had almost been prepped to go to warp when she had raised her concerns in regards the Warbird & it`s suspiciously human cargo. "A human?", said T`Vhor quizically. "Did your scans reveal this persons location on the warbird, was there any indication that they were being held against their will?", said the Captain. (Reply Keira, Any) "Pass the scans to Lieutenant Nolly`s on science one", said T`Vhor, "Lieutenant Nolly`s, see if you can gain any further information on this", he added. (Reply Nolly`s, Any) T`Vhor settled back into his seat, his eyes narrowing slightly at the news. There was nothing they could do about this now however as the warbird had returned to the Romulan side of the neutral zone, to pursue them now would be seen as an act of aggression & this was not something the Captain wished to be projecting at such a delicate juncture of their mission. "Lieutenant Vasilyovna, log the contact into our database, I want to know imediately if we encounter this vessel again", said T`Vhor turning to face the Tactical Officer. "Aye sir, contact is logged as ordered, designation Alpha two", said Yelena. Within minutes, the federation shuttle had duly arrived as ordered & had taken up a position astern of them in readiness to dock. T`Vhor nodded to the Ops officer appropriately & it was promptly given clearance to dock in hanger bay two. (Reply Keira, Nolly`s, Any) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre - Bridge – OPS Ens(Jg) Aiden Keira - 06:45) "A human?", said T`Vhor quizically. "Did your scans reveal this persons location on the warbird, was there any indication that they were being held against their will?", said the Captain. “Impossible to say, Sir,” Keira replied. “To track the exact location of the human would almost certainly have caused the Romulans to detect my scans. I am, however, concerned that the human may be from the same ship as our guest, which means that they may get information on our presence here as well, depending on how much the person knows.” ~Or, it could be completely innocent,~ she thought. Humans have been more common on vessels of other races these days as they started trade and ranged further into other territories. Keira couldn’t help wondering, though, who their guest actually was. From the staff briefing, she knew he was someone important, but she couldn’t begin to guess his real identity. "Pass the scans to Lieutenant Nolly`s on science one", said T`Vhor, "Lieutenant Nolly`s, see if you can gain any further information on this", he added. Keira quickly passed the scans to Lieutenant Nolly’s and started focusing on the incoming shuttle again. She was relieved not to have received more of a reprimand from T’Vhor for scanning the Romulans without his permission or orders. "Lieutenant Vasilyovna, log the contact into our database, I want to know imediately if we encounter this vessel again", said T`Vhor turning to face the Tactical Officer. "Aye sir, contact is logged as ordered, designation Alpha two", said Yelena. A few minutes later, Keira had given the shuttle clearance to dock. She was curious as to who their new arrival would be, as no information had been forthcoming, either from the shuttle or T’Vhor. She realised they were keeping communications down to a minimum, in case the Romulans were somehow listening in. She knew her questions would have to wait until T’Vhor was ready to share the news with them. Having nothing urgent to do, Keira got up from her station and crossed over to Lieutenant Nolly’s. “Anything, Sir,” she asked, knowing that the scans she did weren’t nearly comprehensive enough for the science officer to pick up anything new. Still, it didn’t hurt to check. Jo listened to Aiden's report. She watched as T'Vhor gave some orders and then returned to the command chair. Jo thought to her self that the Warbird was well in side the Romulan neutral zone. As he came into sensor range of the Spectre, however, the readings of a Romulan ship lit up his display, and suddenly all thoughts of sleep depravation were gone from his mind, and he nervously watched the two ships stare at each other before the Romulan vessel finally departed the system. "Shuttle cleared for landing in docking bay 2" "You're the boss," He said to the silent console, and headed straight to the ship, the vessel getting larger and larger on his display, he took a moment just to admire it, taking in the design and watching it sit silently in the vacuum of space. With a few keystrokes he piloted the shuttle into the bay, to see a team of docking staff ready and waiting for him, as he landed the immediately began to check the status of the hull and the warp drive, throwing tethers over the ship to keep it tied to the floor, after shutting down the systems Sinjain grabbed a pad and his small bag of belongings and hopped out onto the Spectre. The air smelt and tasted different, cleaner, than the constantly recycled air of a small shuttle, and even the air filter couldn't take out all of the smells that one person could make, and Sinjain shuddered at the memory of the two days when the air filter shut down... too much for one man to bear. Sinjain went to the dock manager and handed over his PADD, "On there is a list of the damages the ship received on the journey, I ran into a couple of minor asteroid fields and parts of the hull plating has been warped slightly, but nothing major, she's been a good friend to me since I left the academy." He said with a smile on his face. The dock manager didn't share his enthusiasm and practically shoved a second PADD into Sinjain's hands. "The CO left you a message, watch the recording then report to your quarters for further instruction, the directions are in the PADD" "Thanks..." Sinjain muttered and went to lean against his ship to watch the padd, he pressed a button and a face appeared on the screen, it was the CO. "Ensign Liakan, Usually the first action when you join a vessel is to meet with either myself or another commanding officer, unfortunately I am involved with other matters relating to the mission at the moment and cannot see you at the present time, your instructions are to wait for orders, go to your new quarters and settle in or feel free to explore the ship as long as you do not disturb any usual duties, T'Vhor out" Sinjain picked up his possessions, and began to walk in the direction a little arrow on his PADD was pointing to, and sure enough within a few minutes of walking he stepped into his quarters, it was a standard crewman's quarters, only slightly better than the Dorms back at the academy, and he took a moment to imagine what the Captain's quarters looked like, he was sure it was a lot more impressive than what he was staring at now, but it would do for the moment, Sinjain was just happy to have an assignment. Sinjain went to look himself over in the mirror, he was a fairly tall man, around 6ft 1, with long dark brown hair that was always a mess, no matter what he did to it, usually Starfleet does not permit long hair, but he managed to convince the Academy head that it was part of his religion, and to many of his fellow student's amusement he got away with hair that went past his shoulders, that no matter what he did to it, it always stayed a mess. Soon the tiredness from the long journey took hold, and Sinjain threw himself to the bed, without bothering to change his uniform and sleep soon took a hold of him. Sinjain awoke a few hours later by the bleeping of the intercom, it looked as though he was about to get his orders. The arrival of the Doctor at his side again however, brought with it the hope that the pain he was now enduring would not last too much longer. "My name is Doctor Williams. I am the chief medical officer on board.", said the Doctor as he leaned over & activated the scanners fixed into the biobed. "I am going to repair your leg and your other injures is that okay?", said Williams. It seemed a somewhat silly question to Castigan but medical ethics probably required such questions as these. Castigan simply smiled & nodded. "Of course Doctor", said Unaru, "Please feel free to continue. The Doctor nodded back, then he began asking further questions for the benefit of the medical log. "Can I have you full name please.", said Williams. "Unaru Oluweyo Castigan", said Unaru. "Okay Mr Castigan. I need to ask you a couple of questions if that's okay?" "Of course", said Castigan in a typically African heavy tone of voice. "Do you have any relevant past medical history?" The question made Castigan smile, did anyone ever not have a medical past? "Well, I did endure a Masai Spear through my side on one occasion when I was a teenager", said Castigan dryly. "Missed my vital organs of course but it was a painfull lesson in avoidance of sharp objects in flight I can assure you", he added. The Doctor smiled at the responce & continued on. "Are you currently on any medical?", said Williams, "None", said Castigan. "Are you allergic to any thing?", said the Doctor, his questions becoming more quick fire now as he progressed onwards. "No allergies", said Castigan. "How bad is my leg exactly Doctor Williams?", he added. "Just as I said earlier fractured tibia and fibula. lucky they were simple fractures. The rest is superficial.", said Doctor Williams as he removed the restraint from the injured leg to proceed with the repair of the fractures. The almost instant relief from pain as the Doctor repaired the damage was most gratifying to Castigan & it showed upon his face as he turned to the Doctor nodding appreciably. "Well that's your leg done", said Williams as he changed over to a dermal regenerator to begin healing the cuts & bruises sustained during the lifepods decent & susequent impact upon the surface of Alpha Onias III. "Mr Castigan I'm sorry but I must ask you. What was the name of the lady that was with you", said williams, clearly unsure of just how his patient would respond to such a question. "Her name was Elana, she was as you can see part Bajoran & quite possibly the best assistant I have ever had the pleasure of working with", said Castigan. Andrew nodded. "Mr Castigan did you know if she religious in any way?", said the Doctor. Castigan shrugged his shoulders & quirked his head slightly to one side. "She was half Bajoran, half human", said Castigan, "she favoured the Bajoran way but I was not aware of any strict religious practice", he added. "If I can I would like to get myself settled into the quarters assigned to me Doctor, there is much to do", said Castigan. Andrew glanced back at the PADD. "No Mr Castigan I don't think that there is any reason why you should remain here any longer.", said williams. James just nodded his affirmation and stood by the head of the biobed, just out of the way, but still close enough he could see what was going on. "My name is Doctor Williams. He looked around the room thinking and noticed the Orion crewman who came to his classes in the corner. He went over to talk to her for a bit while he waited for the Doctor too finish with Castigan. "H'lo" James said. "Hmmm?" said the Nurse, Douwsy if James remembered correctly, "Oh, hello, what can I do for you sir?" she asked smiling. "Not much, just waiting on the Doc, thought I'd say hello and ask if you were coming tonight?" James said. "Oh, yes, most definetly. I've been talking to a couple of other nurses and I think they're going to come with me." Douwsy said. "Good, good. I may have to get a bigger room if we get too many more people. Or schedule two classes on alternating days. Or both." James said good naturedly. He looked over and noticed that Doctor Williams was just about done. "Whoops, guess I'd better get back to work." he said waving goodbye as he walked off. Dr. Williams was looking down at the PADD in his hand when James approached. From within it, he withdrew a small rolled up piece of cloth & a burner which he placed upon the floor, the burner at the head of the rectangular cloth. Unaru stood & looked briefly towards the viewing port set into the outer bulkhead of his quarters, the warp stars now streaking by as though in slow motion. The sight had never ceased to amaze him, they were now travelling faster than light itself & yet everything looked as though it had slowed down. He remembered back to a time when he was a young warrior, an ilmurran of the Il-ikumai Masai when his grandfather had sat with him on the outskirts of their village. The old man had pointed to the stars that night & told him of the wonders that existed there & how that was where he hoped his people would one day venture also. Unaru had promised the old man that night that he would live his grandfathers dream for him & now here he was, speeding faster than any spear he had ever thrown, through the heavens as straight as straight could be. Looking down to the cloth upon the floor however, he remembered what he was about to do & leaned forwards to ignite the burner before kneeling at the very edge of the cloth itself. He closed his eyes & thought about his assistant & how she had died, then he gave reverence for her & prayed that her spirit would find the solace she never seemed to be able to find in life. The ritual went on for some time as dictated by the layed down laws of his people, over half an hour in fact but of course on this occasion there would be no burial within the skin of an animal as they decreed. Elana was not Masai of course & his rite to her was only one of dedication & honour. In a fleeting glance however & apparently within his mind it would seem, the essence of his assistant had suddenly appeared as though in a vision moving gracefully beside him. She smiled & nodded, her face radiant & happy, a fact which made Unaru smile within as she walked on by & headed towards the door of his quarters. It was the damndest thing though, Unaru swore that there had been substance in her form & the fact that the door to his quarters had opened upon her approach only compounded the mystery even further. He remained gladdened however for Elana was obviously now at peace as he returned his gaze to the flickering flame of the burner. "Did you open the door or did it just randomly open sir?", said a somewhat startled voice from within the coriddor. Unaru looked about to see the Security officer that had brought him to his quarters poking his head around the door frame. "I don`t believe I did", said Unaru with a broad smile, "but I believe it opened with great joy", he added as he allowed himself to break into a deep, powerful laugh. The security officer just looked on befuddled at his actions & popped his head back into the corridor as Unaru stood & gathered up his small satchel before walking towards him. Kedren remove the dataPADD from his leg and reviewed the doctor’s suggestions again. “Hmmmm …… Computer take the exo-skeleton K52 from my data store and update the design with the information from this dataPADD and then apply it to the dummy” Metallic straps appeared over the dummy, these were then replaced by thin struts, some of which where motorised or mobile to allow movement in places where the body could naturally bend and move. “Ahhh…that’s good, I like that……okay, add the arm design from the PADD, replace the actuator with KA-432 from my datastore, reconfigure these settings………” Kedren started to ramble off a load of instructions changing several minor features in the doctors arm suggestion. “Finally add my current power supply and active normal physics, allow the dummy to act as I would with the current design.” The dummy fell over as the physics were activated. “Computer……what went wrong?” “The dummy was unable to take the weight of the power supply, although no damage was done to the body structure the current design would be unable to stand, or not for long without sustaining injuries” The computer responded in it’s dull female tone. “What points require support for the current power supply to be used and for no damage to be taken to the body for a reasonable length of time?” Kedren asked. “Calculating………… Adding extra support to the right leg and back will allow the current power supply to be used, however this design, although allowing greater manoeuvrability and improved mechanics will result in steady damage to the back and right leg, suggest reducing the weight of the power supply to allow this design to be used” ~If I knew how to do that, then that would solve many problems, power supplies were never my strong point~ Kedren thought to himself. Deciding to kill time by playing with various tweaks and designs as well as theoretical possibilities Kedren continued to change aspects of the dummy design, now waiting for his summons from Angeletti. It was certainly good to see him without agent Smith at his side that was for sure, it seemed that she was relaxing around him now a little & perhaps even realising also, that the unfortunate fiasco surrounding his possible involvement with his turncoat sister was unfounded after all. Imediately upon his entry however, the Doctor of course being his usual methodical self wasted no time at all in proceeding to give the Captain a report on Mr Castigans injuries & his current medical status. "Very good Doctor", said T`Vhor, "I understand that his leg was quite badly broken", said the Captain. "Yes, although Mr Castigan's leg was fractured it was not too bad and I was able to heal the rest of his injuries", said Williams as he then went on to explain the unfortunate events regarding Castigans assistant & the subsequent report that he had sent to T`Vhor in regards it. "Yes, an unfortunate situation", said T`Vhor, "I will of course notify the relevant departments in regards next of kin & such", he added. The Doctor then made it clear of his need to return to sickbay in order to perform Elana`s last offices before he headed off. "Doctor Williams?", said T`Vhor as Williams reached the door. In a morbid kind of way her enjoyed performing last offices on a patient. it was his way of saying good bye. An instructor at the academy had told him that when you don't feel any thing when performing last offices get a different job. He picked up a small sonic resonator "Its okay love, this is not going to hurt." He slowly moved it across her body. once he was happy that he had gotten rid off all the muck and grime from the crash he put it down. "There you go love, that looks a lot better." Birth to after death that was his responsibility to his patients. "Okay love, I'm just going to put you into some thing more comfortable and get you out of these dirty clothes." He carefully removed her clothes and replaced them with a simple white shroud. "there you go." He stood back to make sure that he had not missed anything. the last thing he wanted was to upset the grieving family even more by not doing his job properly. satisfied that every thing was correct. He stepped beside Elana again and placed a hand on top of hers. "Sleep well Miss Elana." he stood there for a moment and then stepped back. "Computer transport Miss Elana's body to the morgue." He had been sitting outside Castigan's quarters for almost a half hour. If he'd known the man was going to take this long to 'prepare' he would have buzzed security and gotten another guard. Davies if he could manage it. ~He deserves something like this. Be good to make him actually do something.~ James thought wryly. It wasn't that Davies was lazy, he was just, well lazy. ~Maybe unmotivated is a better term, after all the man is full of energy and willing to do things, he just won't take the initiative.~ James started twiddling his thumbs and thinking up a new training program for the holodeck. Oh yes, he was going to work his security teams until they were a smooth, well oiled machine. He had been giving mandatory lessons in unarmed combat to his security personnel the last couple of shifts. He figured that they could all use it. It did make Davies happy, and a couple of the other crewmen to be sure, they were pleased that they were now ahead of the rest of the class that he had started. ~That's another thing I need to start thinking about I guess. Tonight's lesson plan.~ He had planned it out earlier, but it had required props and he hadn't had the time to replicate them, what with all of the crazy things that were going on the last couple of days. He was considering starting his students on sparring. He felt that most of them were ready at this point. ~better let sickbay know, though. Just in case someone gets carried away.~ Well judging by what Nurse Douwsy had said there would be a couple of nurses on hand, and they should be able to take care of anything that comes up. ~I'll just make sure I have someone bring a medkit to class with them, and that should be all I need to keep them from killing themselves.~ James checked the time, it was now 07:40. ~five more minutes and then I'm going to have to get someone else for this, I need to get started on that training program today so that I can meet Vasilyovna's deadline on the training program for next week.~ Just then Castigan's door opened and James looked up to see nothing. ~Huh?~ James thought. She logged the information away for later and checked the time. ~Holy cow, I was up all night!~ she thought, with not a little annoyance. She needed her sleep, but she kept getting caught up in her personal research. Night was the only time that she ever really had a chance to work on it. She had isolated the compound that worked to ensnare people, and it was chock full of pheremones, among other things. She couldn't figure out how to untangle the web of chemicals. ~Maybe the doctor can help me with this.~ It was worth a try anyway. Julia got up and walked out, not even bothering to take her lab coat off. She liked the lab coat, and truth be told, didn't like taking it off, it made her feel more professional. James pulled his head back into the corridor. Judging by the burner and kneeling position he would say that the man had been praying. Maybe with incense. ~Either the incense went to his head, or he needs to back to sickbay. Poor guy.~ James thought. Just then Castigan stepped out carrying a bag. "Let us go & see your Captain now", the man said, still grinning from ear to ear. "Right. This way please" James said leading Castigan towards the nearest turbolift. T`Vhor was imediately struck by the dignified appearance of the man as he walked into the room to stand silently before the desk. The Captain stood graciously & extended his hand in the customery Human greeting to which the presidential aide responded likewise. "Please", said T`Vhor, "take a seat, can I get you anything to drink?", he added. "Chilled water if you please Captain", said Unaru & T`Vhor imediately walked to the replicator to fulfil the mans request before returning to seat himself once again. "I`ll waste no time in getting to the point", said Castigan reaching into his bag to withdraw some hand written sheets of paper containing writing in an apparently unidentified script. Castigan looked about the room briefly before going further, then he adressed the Captain once more. "This room is secure yes?", said Unaru, "Nobody can know what we speak here?", he added. T`Vhor simply layed his opened palms face upwards upon the table in a symbolic but significant gesture. "Of course Mr.....", said T`Vhor, motioning for the mans full title. "Castigan", said Unaru, "Unaru Castigan, President Rondar Nell`s personal aide at your service sir", he added bowing his head slightly in responce. "Commander T`Vhor at yours sir", said T`Vhor as he proceeded to look down at the unusual script that had now been placed before him. "I`m sorry, this does not make much sence to me", said the Captain looking up questioningly at Unaru. "Of course it doesn`t", said Castigan, "but with the correctly polarised & frequency alligned illumination.....", he added whilst withdrawing a metallic device from his satchel & placing his thumb against the scan panel on it`s side to activate it`s light beam. "It becomes readable", said Castigan shining the coherant beam onto the paper to reveal a set of codes & location markings corresponding to an area of space. The Captain was impressed, the device was clearly coded to the aides thumb & unless it was activated by him, the writings on the paper were meaningless. It seemed a crude way of encrypting sensitive information but effective nonetheless. To the casual observer, the device in his hand was simply a torch, nobody would tie the written papers to the device for they completely disassociated themselves from one another. Once the information was revealed however, the Captain scanned the pages & took it all in. "Your destination is here Captain", said Castigan placing his finger onto one of the positions on the paper, "the presidents last known position was in the vicinity of this planet", he added. "That is Chaltok IV", said T`Vhor a little surprised. "Correct", said Castigan, "but that was three weeks ago now so the intelligence is unreliable, once we are in the system I will attempt to contact the President via scrambled subspace communication, if we get no reply to my coded attempts, his secondary course was Tranome Sar", said Castigan. "There is however a chance that he could still be in the Chaltok system itself, we will know more when we arrive there", he added. T`Vhor sat back into his seat as he pondered the information, then he leaned slowly towards Castigan again. "Why was it not possible for the president himself to accompany you here?", said T`Vhor. Castigan simply shook his head in the negative. "Too dangerous", he said. "The moment Rondar makes a move anywhere information is leaked from somewhere, it`s easier if he travels without anyone known to be associated with him. "Let`s face it Commander, the shuttle I arrived on was attacked & destroyed by a Romulan vessel, I can only assume that someone knew I was onboard", said Castigan. T`Vhor nodded & allowed himself to settle back into his chair, Castigan had a point that was for sure. "Last reports claim Chaltok IV to be heavilly patrolled", said T`Vhor, "if we are found in this system we will be outgunned & outnumbered very quickly", he added. "Which is precisely why the Spectre was chosen for this mission", said Castigan, "it`s phased cloak will give us an edge, it`s the only way", he added, "the only logical choice & you above all must surely know the importance of logic commander". T`Vhor nodded appropriately in responce. "Of course Mr Castigan", said T`Vhor. "So it seems that we will know nothing more until we reach the Chaltok system", he added. "When we do find the President, it is me that must initiate communication commander, nobody else, do you understand that?", said Castigan, "he will only respond to me". "Of course", said T`Vhor, "We will set a course for the Chaltok system shortly, until such time as we arrive there please feel free to enjoy the hospitality of my ship & it`s crew", said T`Vhor as Castigan gathered up the items he had placed upon the table to return them to his satchel. "I intend to", said Castigan, "It`s been a while since I had access to such luxurious surroundings I can assure you", he added as he stood & walked to the door with the captain. "This vessel has a ten forward yes?", said Castigan. "It does", said T`Vhor. "Then that is the first place I will avail myself", said Castigan with a deep laugh. "Imediately after you came aboard we encountered a Romulan vessel", said T`Vhor, "scans have shown that there was a Human on board, would you know who that may have been at all?", he added. Castigan simply shrugged his shoulders in responce. "I have no idea at all", said Unaru, "It is not unheard of however for some Humans to have served upon Romulan vessels in the past", he added. "Indeed", said T`Vhor, "I do however find it curious that one should be on this warbird now", he added, "were there any Human crewmembers aboard the transport you arrived on?", said T`Vhor. "No, the only crew were Bajoran", said Castigan, "I was the only Human on board", he added. T`Vhor raised an eyebrow in typical Vulcan fashion as he contemplated Ensign Aidens fears of the warbird having captured one of the transports crew before it`s destruction, this however could not have been the case now & for that he was somewhat relieved as he allowed Castigan to continue on his way before he himself took the centre chair once again. "Helm, make your course one nine four mark two zero, prepare to engage at warp six for the Chaltok System on my order", said T`Vhor. To be truthful he needed the rest, the last few days had been hectic & the events leading up to the hazardous rescue of the presidential aide had been far from straightforward. There was now the matter of a corpse lying in their morgue for example & the loss of an untold amount of Bajoran crew from the annhialated transport. Everything had pointed to the fact that the Romulans had been responsible for that but the Captains orders had been specific in that they were to avoid conflict with them unless absolutely necessary. Castigan himself however seemed to have borne it all well enough, but it was clear to T`Vhor that the loss of his assistant played heavy on his mind, it was probably the reason he had chosen to visit Ten Forward in fact. Seated at his desk in his quarters however, the Captain opened his personal console & initiated a log entry dealing with the events that had brought them to now, then once he had completed it he layed back on his bunk & slept. Entering into the near vacant Ten Forward, Yelena still had that contact on her mind, it seemed strange that there was so much secrecy surrounding him, surely she as the chief of security should know all of the facts surrounding this mission shouldn`t she? She couldn`t help but wonder why the Captain had been so secretive about it all, but then orders were orders & who was Yelena to argue with that. Walking up to the bar however, she put the matter to the back of her mind & concentrated on the task in hand of enjoying her mid morning break. "The usual please", said Yelena as the cook approached & asked what she would like. "Ah, a generous serving of Borsch for the pretty lady then with a nice mug of Kvas", said the Cook with his usual happy & somewhat cheeky countenence. "Spasiba", said Yelena with a wink as she turned about to head for a table near one of the windows with a slight wiggle of her hips so as to wind up the watching cook. The cook simply sighed, rested his elbow onto the bar & then placed his chin upon his palm to enjoy the TAC/SC`s playful display. "I thought you were getting my meal ready", said Yelena turning to face the bar again. "I am, I am", said the Cook as he stood up straight again to head off into his kitchen whilst Yelena smiled & sat down. When given the opertunity, the security chief had always chosen a window seat due to the spectacular view which she had never quite tired of, the sight of the stars streaking by was calming to her & right now she needed calm as well as sustenence. It was about this time however that other crewmembers were arriving on their breaks & soon, ten forward became a little less quiet & a lot less calm!! By then however, her mug of Kvas had arrived delivered to her as it was by one of the stewards that occupied the lounge. The traditional Russian drink reminded Yelena of home, her mother had given it to her as a young girl when they had lived in their home town of Baikonur & even though some people thought it rather bland, to Yelena it meant comfort. Sitting there waiting for her food though, Yelena looked about the steadily filling room wondering just what each of the arrivals considered as their own forms of comfort, a glass of synthehol perhaps? A traditional dish from their homeworld? Either way it was irrelevant to her now for her bowl of Borsch had just arrived & she eagerly tucked into it, closing her eyes to savour the first mouthful as she did so. ~Ahhhh, now that`s cooking~ (Reply Any) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Sickbay, ACSO Ensign (JG) Kenneth McKenzie, 10:16 hours) "Hello, doc. Can we talk now?" Andrew, looking up from his PADD, saw him and placed the PADD down on the desk. "Ah. Mr. McKenzie. Please take a seat." Dr. Williams said point with a gesture of his hand to a seat at the desk. "Aye, thanks" "I've been looking over the data I have gathered. There are some options, but they are only short term. I personally think that some time with Mr Taxia will also be beneficial." The doctor picked up with PADD again and looked at it. "For the eating, I can suggest a course of an enzyme derivative which will increase your metabolism which will help digest the food that you eat. The thing is, Mr. McKenzie, short of surgically making your stomach smaller even in the 24 century nothing beats a good diet and exercise." Kenny nodded. "Aye, Dr. I agree. I really do not fancy having my stomach stapled. I prefer more... Natural methods The enzyme will do fine, thanks. "Your depression seams to spark off this cycle of eating and drinking. I can give you medication that can increase your mood but I would caution you that this is defiantly not the answer to your problem. Mind altering medication will help you for a time. Trust me on this if you get dependant on them it is much harder to get off trust me." "Aye Dr." I don't think I'll take your mood increasing medicine. I would rather have a good healthily diet, exercise and counselling. But your right. occasionally I get flashbacks about the time with Lorne Easton, the first guy I ever fell in love with. He abused my love for him as he did not accepted it and it really hurt me. The flashbacks seem to bring on my lust for food, which leads to comfort eating. I used to spend a lot of my repacater rations back at the Academy on fatty foods like hamburgers, pizzas, chips and other junk food. The more unhealthy the food, the better it makes me feel. The comfort eating all started after Lorne broke me down and is why I became overweight as a teenager. I still can't believe how fat I became back then... I shot from being 10 stone at the age of 17, to being about 16 stone at the age of 18. The weight just piled on. I got over him eventually and lost weight, but the scars, flashbacks and stretch marks are still there." Kenny said that then blushed. "What makes it worse, is that I am now paranoid about my weight and I keep a set of scales under my bed and I am sure I'm getting fatter again, even though I am most likely not that it's probably all in my head." "I'd also like a plate of scrambled eggs, with white toast, no butter on that toast, and a single piece of bacon, if you would be so kind," Rogers requested. "Of course, First Officer Rogers. (reply Vasilyovna, any) (Posted by Kevin Schram) (USS Spectre - Ten Forward - TAC/SC Yelena Vasilyovna - 10.23) From the moment she had seen him enter ten forward, Yelena anticipated some kind of comment from him. The FO was known to be a ladies man of course, Yelena had already looked over his file as a routine measure upon his arrival & his banter with the Cook seemed to back up what it had said. Confident, somewhat cocky at times, prone to practical jokes.... She knew the type, she had seen enough of them in her time to be able to read them anyway. Truth be known however she admitted to herself that she was`nt exactly giving the guy a fair chance to show the real person within, & so with that in mind she acceeded to his request to sit with her when he had arrived & asked to do so. "Tell me Lieutenant, how long have you been stationed on the Spectre?", said Rogers. Yelena almost choked on her food the moment the FO had asked her that. So much for fair chances!! Imediately she picked up the napkin beside her to pad her lips in responce to her near explosive reaction to the First Officers somewhat predictable question. It could only have been bettered by "What`s a nice girl like you doing in a place like this" thought Yelena but anyway, she certainly didn`t want to offend the man & from what she already knew of him, he did seem rather nice under all the machismo. "Sorry sir, please excuse me", said Yelena as she returned the napkin to the table before answering his question. "About a month sir", said Yelena, "I came over from the Asguard during the Spectres last mission to Betazed", she added. "Served under Captain Renfrew for about a year beforehand", said Yelena as she returned her attention to her half eaten bowl of food. (Reply Rogers) Yelena took a mouth full of her food & nodded. "Well, I think-" this time, he was again interrupted by Ensign Keira, the Ops officer from the bridge. She asked if she could join the table, and Yelena quickly allowed her to do so. Rogers was partly annoyed, but smiled never the less. "So, what’s the deal with this VIP? There seems to be a lot of secrecy," she asked. (reply none, Keria, Vasilyovna, any) (Posted by Kevin Schram) (USS Spectre - Ten Forward – OPS Ens(Jg) Aiden Keira - 10.25) Keira wandered into ten forward for the first time since she had arrived on the Spectre. As she entered through the door, she stood still for a few moments, taking in the atmosphere. It was dimly lit, but not too dark for the patrons not to be able to make out what they were eating. Someone had also gone to the trouble to create a sunlight effect, seemingly coming from one of the windows, blocking out the usual view of stars passing by. It was quite a nice effect and quite important as well - to be able to distinguish between night and day on a starship is virtually impossible. Ten Forward was a fairly large area, but seemed quite intimate, with tables dotted around the place, far enough apart to enable relative privacy. Most of the tables were empty, as one would expect at this time of day, but there were enough people at the remaining tables to create the hush of conversation floating through the room. “Excuse me!” a voice said loudly behind Keira, making her realise she was blocking the entrance. She quickly apologised and moved out of the crewmember’s way, moving towards the bar. “What’s good here?” she asked playfully, trying to disguise the tiredness she felt. “Everything, but maybe you should try this,” the bartender replied, handing her a drink with a faint reddish colouring to it. “I’m still on duty,” she said, eyeing the drink suspiciously. “What is this?” “Nothing that will interfere with your duties, Ensign,” the bartender said, shoving the drink in her direction. “Okay, but it’s your butt…,” Keira smiled, as she walked away and took a sip. The drink tasted slightly sweet, but with a tangy aftertaste. ~Not too bad,~ she thought as she passed to one of the nearby tables. “Mind if I joined you?” she asked as she arrived at the table. Rogers and Vasilyovna looked up at her, Rogers just tucking into a plate of food. “Sure.” It was Vasilyovna who answered. She seemed slightly relieved. Keira couldn’t imagine why, especially since a quick look of annoyance flashed across Rogers’ face. Keira sat down and got straight to the point. “So, what’s the deal with this VIP? There seems to be a lot of secrecy.” Keira looked at the pair expectantly. Surely the FO and Security Chief would have some answers. Ensign Aiden it seemed had the same questions on her mind that almost everyone else had though, for the moment she had taken a seat she had fired it off. "So, what’s the deal with this VIP? The barman simply smiled, nodded & then went to work on the security chiefs request prior to bringing it to her a few minutes later. "Thank you", said Yelena with a smile, "for such an interesting looking concoction, I rather expected it to take much longer", said Yelena as she took the drink from the barman. "It`s a little something I`m experimenting with", said the Barman, "I picked up the original recipe from a Pacifican passing through starbase 375 while we were docked", he added. "But I`ve added a little something too", said the Barman with a wink. Yelena sipped at the drink, savoured it for a few seconds & then looked to the barman as he stood there awaiting her verdict. "It`s lovely", said Yelena, "a suggestion however, just a slight twist of Vodka would give it something more....... well, just more", she added. After freshening up a little & drinking some water he had decided to take a short visit to the medical department. The problem of the renegade H'Chir had been on his mind for a while now since waking & he felt that the only way he`d find out more about what had really happened to him would be to go see the man himself. Wether he would get any sence from him in his current state though was another matter entirely. Upon walking into the infirmary however, he was hardly prepared for the sight he was to come upon. Of course the Andorian wasn`t difficult to pick out being bright blue & all, but the man laying upon the biobed was not the H'Chir that T`Vhor had known before he had jumped ship that was for sure. The nurse of course was nearby attending to her duties, the Doctor himself however was nowhere to be seen at this time so T`Vhor approached Douwsy for an update on the Andorians condition. "Nurse Douwsy, how is our patient?", said T`Vhor. (Reply Douwsy, Any) "I understand", said T`Vhor as he turned his attention once again to the prone H'Chir before approaching the bedside & pausing just for a moment. The Captains partial empathic sences of course told him that the Andorians mind was little more than mush at that moment, but he remembered the hostility he was prone to exhibit for telepaths & their like & chose instead to rely upon instinct in his dealings with him now. H'Chir was awake now but it appeared that he was not seeing anything but the ceiling above him for his gaze remained straight up & unphased, his antennae however shifted sporadicly upon the Captains approach to indicate that at least something within him was aware that he was there. T`Vhor leaned forwards slightly to observe the Andorian in his almost catatonic state. Whatever he had been through during the takeover of his mind had left him little more than a husk now, Korak however seemed to have faith in his ability for recovery so the CO felt that everything should be done to give him that chance at least. T`Vhor had heard of this practice of mind control via the Katra of another before of course, the process had been outlawed on Vulcan itself many moons ago due to the way it ravaged the mind when it was used too often, it`s use however had not disappeared entirely & it had found particular favour as a tool utilised by the Romulans. She watched them talk and then went back to her work. There was nothing as monotonous as recalibrating the tricorders but it had to be done. She picked up another one and began to run the calibration program. When is had finished she placed it on the desk beside her and looked up as T'Vhor headed over to her again. I can hear you.” His eyes remained glazed, lacking focus, but to emphasise the point he turned both antennae to face the Commander. “Have you come for my court-martial?” (Reply T’Vhor, any) (Posted by Michael Drake) (USS Spectre - Sickbay – CO T'Vhor – 13:11) "Yes, Vulcan. I can hear you"..... That one single reply had confirmed one thing to the Captain, H'Chir was still in there, somewhere... Regardless of the fact that the Andorian was hovering somewhere between two states of sanity, there was still enough of his essence there to spit venom in the direction of his former First Officer, a good sign perhaps. "Have you come for my court-martial?, said H'Chir. T`Vhor raised an eyebrow quizically at the sarcastic remark the former CEO had thrown his way. "Under the circumstances Mr H'Chir I neither want, nor even feel that that will take place now", said T`Vhor noticing as he spoke how the Andorian screwed his face up in apparent confusion over the Captains remark. It seemed that until now anyway he had been quite sure that a court martial was pending, perhaps he was even clinging to the notion of it happening in a half hearted attempt at holding onto what he felt was real. Nobody could say for certain though except perhaps Korak, he was after all the one who knew H'Chir better than most now. "You do know where you are now yes?", said T`Vhor. (Reply H'Chir) "We know now why you did what you did", said T`Vhor, "we also know that it was not your fault", he added. (Reply H'Chir, IYW) It seemed now that the Andorian had closed his mind once again, the simple mention of T'Rok had caused a reaction that much was for sure. Until then however, the only thing any of them could do was wait. "I will speak with you again later Mr H'Chir", said T`Vhor, "or you may request to speak with me if you feel the need beforehand", he added. At the mention of the Romulan’s name, H’Chir’s body tensed as though in pain. He grunted a quick ‘yes’ to the Commander who continued: "We know that this man was the reason for the things you did, we know also how he manipulated your mind." The Captain stood beside her & then rested both his hands thoughtfully onto the ledge of the console to scrutinize the data further. He had seen this before of course. Ever since he had first served on the Cochrane as her TAC/ASC & then also the Paladin, this exact same signature had been present at some time or another during both their missions. Faint, indeterminate & intermittent but nonetheless there. In the past it had all looked to be suspiciously of Romulan origin, & on the one occasion when the Paladin had layed down a tachyon detection grid in it`s wake in an attempt to snare one of those contacts, they had bagged themselves a Warbird that had clearly not intended to go down without a fight. The fact that the Spectre had now entered the Chaltok system however only raised the stakes further, they were now deep in Romulan space & any false move on their part could spell disaster for all. "This could be a cloaked vessel", said T`Vhor pointing to the screen as he did so. "If I am right, I am not liking the look of this at all", he added standing upright & heading quickly over to science one. "Lieutenant Nollys, Ensign McKenzie, do you have any insight on this?", said T`Vhor. (Reply Nolly`s, McKenzie) "Continue running deep scans on the area", said T`Vhor as he turned about, his sences raising apreciably now in anticipation of trouble as he settled himself into the Command chair. "Take us to yellow alert, slow to one third impulse, steady as she goes", said T`Vhor & all at once the yellow annunciators began pulsing around the bridge as the conn officer complied with the Captains orders. "Lieutenant Vasilyovna, keep monitoring for any contacts, extend to.......", said T`Vhor just as the Tactical chief cut in with a sharp reply. "Hostile contact bearing one nine two mark two four, vessel is of unknown configuration & is transmitting no registry & no identification sir!", cried Yelena. "Contact IS hot", she added meaning that her shields were raised & her weapons had been charged & brought to bear. It was quite clear now much to their chagrin, that they had now been seen by this other vessel regardless of the effectiveness of their phased cloak & there was of course only one responce!!! "RED ALERT!", said the Captain & the annunciators imediately went from yellow to red to the accompaniment of the alert klaxons. "Ready all weapons, target the incoming vessel & plot a firing solution", said the Captain, "prepare to lower the cloak, fire all phasers on my mark", he added as the bridge suddenly came alive with the hustle & bustle of a ship preparing for imminent conflict. "All hands this is the Captain, prepare for hostile engagement.....repeat, engagement is imminent", said T`Vhor after opening a ship wide communique from his right armrest control panel. The incoming vessel gave no warnings, no conditions, no negotiations as it appeared suddenly in the forward view screen looking like some dark nemesis brought to life & emerging from the very pits of hell itself. It then opened fire on the Spectre striking her amidships with a full phaser spread. "Drop the cloak & return fire Lieutenant, rapid burst full yield", said T`Vhor as their forward shielding absorbed the first strike. "Aye sir, target is acquired & locked, firing phasers", said Yelena as her hands flew across the weapons targetting console to initiate the Spectres responce to the unprovoked attack from the somewhat menacing looking vessel. "Damage report", said T`Vhor as the Spectre was suddenly hit again by two photon torpedoes from a second undisclosed source before anyone could even reply to his request. The Captain swung about fast in responce to the last impact to look up at the tactical chief, his face a mask of concern as a fire broke out on one of the consoles behind him. Luckilly however, a crewmember was imediately on it to quickly extinguish it. "Where did that come from?", cried T`Vhor. "Are there two ships?", he added. "Yes sir, I now have two contacts closing fast, the second appeared from nowhere", said Yelena as the bridge was rocked yet again by another hit from the second vessel. "Damage report please Ensign Aiden", said T`Vhor. (Reply Keira) The Tactical chief wasted no time at all however in responding to that second hit. "Targetting the second vessel sir", said Yelena, "hostile is identical to the first, no registry, no identification, firing the photon flux cannon now", she added as the experimental armaments discharged a high yield photon pulse directly across the void of space to slam into the side of the attacking vessel as it approached, depleting her shields to forty percent in the process. "Fire at will, I want those ships taken down!", said T`Vhor as the two vessels moved off & then recombined in a standard attack posture before coming again at the Spectre in their unrelenting assault. This time, the Spectre sustained direct hits to her aft shielding & her dorsal phaser array taking the array offline & the shields to forty eight percent. Not only that though for the Conn Officer had been knocked clear from his chair by the latest hits to lie unconscious now on the floor beside it. The Captain looked to the fallen officer, the resultant unoccupied chair & then to the FO seated beside him. That chair needed filling if they were to get out of this now & Rogers instinctively knew what to do. (Reply Rogers) "Conn, initiate combat maneuvers, keep us at an optimal firing distance from the two vessels", said T`Vhor. (Reply Rogers, IYW) "Lieutenant Vasilyovna, rotate your targetting through the attacking vessels shield generators & their warp engines, I don`t want these ships initiating warp", he added. "Aye sir, targetting now", said Yelena as she let fly with a barrage of Quantum torpedoes backed up by both the photon flux cannon & the remaining phaser arrays for maximum shield penetration. The moment they had hit their target, one of the vessels suddenly slowed to a crawl as her impulse engines failed as a result of the heavy damage dealt it. The second ship then veered off suddenly at a steep angle & then returned to punnish the Spectre yet again for the disablement it had just dealt the other ship. Two photons slammed into her side taking the port shielding imediately offline & making them extremely vulnerable now to another attack from the same side. The Captain stood up from his chair in responce, the critical situation of their exposed flanks now of clear concern to all, including himself. "Disable that vessel Lieutenant!", cried T`Vhor as he watched the ship move off in the viewscreen in a sleek wide arc before coming about once again on a direct head to head attack. "Now Lieutenant!", cried T`Vhor as the vessel grew ominously larger in the viewscreen upon it`s approach. "Anytime would be good Yelena", he added sitting back into his chair now to grip the sides tightly. "I`m on it sir", said Yelena trying her best to pinpoint the optimal strike point so as to cause as much damage to the incoming with the photon flux cannon. "Firing now", she cried as the Spectre opened up on the attacker with everything it had. In an instance, the almost completely black ship veered off at a ninety degree angle having been dealt a punnishing blow by the Spectres heavy armaments, it`s shields now showing as of minimal effectiveness as it moved out of range before engaging warp to abruptly leave the system with it`s tail well & truly between it`s legs. The Spectre had stood it`s ground but not without damage, it had been punnished severely in the battle & T`Vhor knew that his primary concern now was to take the Spectre away from the area in order to carry out essential repairs. Firstly however there was the matter of the other vessel, what could they now learn from it, it was a chance worth taking no matter what the odds & they needed to know more that much was certain. "Ensign Aiden, damage report please?", said T`Vhor. (Reply Keira) "Assign damage teams to the most critical areas & get medical on to the injuries", said T`Vhor. (Reply Keira) "The other vessel Lieutenant Vasilyovna?", said T`Vhor looking to the TAC/SC. "She`s adrift sir, warp core is offline, impulse engines are down", said Yelena in a relieved tone of voice. T`Vhor simply nodded & looked about the bridge. "Well done everyone", he said as he leaned to his left to open a channel. "Bridge to Lieutenant Colonel Krige", said T`Vhor. Kowalski was now in the dropship bay prepping the Trojan assault vehicle they had taken delivery of at Starbase 375, & Bowie was standing by in the transporter room with his forward assault group awaiting the word to go. The bay was alive now with activity & adrenalin as Kowalski activated his communicator to confirm launch clearance from the bridge. "Kowalski to bridge Ops, do we have a go for launch?", said the MXO as he checked the status of his marine III-C phaser rifle whilst awaiting the COPS`s reply. (Reply Keira) "Confirmed launch is a go", said Bruce as he raised his arm & beckoned those assembled to climb aboard the Trojan. The fully suited up pilot of the Trojan just smiled like a child in his element as he looked out through the forward screen at his controller as he raised his thumb skywards in responce. Kowalski then jumped aboard the already moving vessel in an almost choreographed move, it`s side door closing rapidly behind him before it was off into the cold vacuum of space. The moment they had cleared the forcefielded spacedoors, Kowalski lurched up to the flight deck to check the telemetrics coming in from the sensors of the Spectre. Imediately they got them, they knew where they were heading as the flight computer & the TADS locked onto their prey. The moment they approached it however, it was hard not to appreciate the sleek, menacing lines of the unmoving vessel. It was clearly a ship built for combat & Kowalski had an unnerving thought that under those circumstances it was probably not as helpless as it first looked. His suspicions were in fact confirmed when they came into range for the vessel began opening up on them with it`s aft mounted phaser cannon, the first shot narrowly missing their starboard nacelle as it did so. The pilot was quick to respond as he engaged in a series of sharp maneuvers to avoid the subsequent phaser blasts & take them away from the aft section of the vessel. From that one move however, they had ascertained that the majority of the ships weaponry was still offline & that only it`s rear phaser battery was actually functioning. At this point, the MXO was reading off the displays on the flightdeck of the Trojan surveying all that was happening. The pilot, under Kowalski`s orders had now locked on to the incapacitated vessel & was already moving quickly into a boarding position on the lower hull. Once there, he swung the Trojan over through one hundred & eighty degrees & latched down hard onto the jet black hull before engaging maglocks & then the plasma cutters to open up a hole into her interior. The self sealing mechanisms imediately came online as the hull was breeched, then the twelve marines in the Trojans Troop compartment piled through the conduit & directly into one of the lower deck coriddors, it`s interior pulsing red now to show the alert status of the ship itself. The MXO wasted no time in quickly splitting the squad into two six man teams, sending one of them off in search of the computer core before leading his own team up through the decks towards Engineering & beyond. It did not take long for them to encounter resistance!! (Reply Houseman, Any) (Posted by Kevin Schram) (Enemy Vessel - Coriddor - MXO Major Bruce Kowalski - 07:25) All at once the corridor lit up like a damn christmas tree, they were upon them in no time & apparently coming from nowhere. Imediately the marines had taken cover in the niches set into the bulkheads & were returning fire, pulse per pulse but it was clear that they were at a disadvantage. One of the marines was hit hard in the shoulder, his BDU taking most of the hit but it had seared through the armour & luckily cauterised the resultant wound enough as to prevent any excessive bleeding. The HUD in Kowalski`s Pallas helmet filled with information as the inbuilt TADS pinpointed & catagorised the targets in order of proximity, there were about nine of them, all obviously battle aware due to their tactical placement before them, it was not going to be easy but the marines had dealt with more difficult odds than these. "Drew, take two men back to that last juncture, there was a computer access console there, see if you can`t get us a schematic on this crate that we can work with", said Kowalski as phaser fire rang out around them once more. "Yes sir, on our way sir", said the marine & within seconds they were gone. More shots were exchanged, each side now appearing to have each other pinned down. Kowalski quickly pulled a stun grenade from his pack before any of their opponents could do the same, then he set it for a three second delay & gave the standard warning before lobbing it forwards. "FIRE IN THE HOLD!", he cried & everyone ducked away accordingly. The resultant flash of photonic light sent a wave back up through the coriddor but imediately it had done so, the phaser fire was no more. Kowalski`s HUD picked up seven casualties, most of them dead or dying now but two had ran back up the coriddor & were now out of proximity. Kowalski quickly opened a channel to the Spectre. "Major Kowalski to USS Spectre" (Reply any on Spectre) "We have encountered resistance, looks like we are dealing with mercenaries here, highly motivated", said Kowalski as he looked up & down the coriddor, his breath intermittently fogging up his face plate as he did so. "Kowalski to units two & three, we have encountered our first resistance, keep those eyes peeled lads, these guys are not your usual fodder & they definately have not baked us a cake", said the Major. (Reply any on teams, IYW) The Major stepped out cautiously from his defensive niche along with the others, then after assigning Baxter to point & checking with the injured marine, they moved onwards. "What the F***", cried Baxter. "Jeeeeesussss!", he cried as he took aim & despatched the first one as the second jumped high in the air to lock it`s jaws onto his outstreched arm to drag him down upon the floor with it`s considerably dense weight. Instantly, the creature bit down & crushed the mans armour to squash his forearm painfully beneath it causing him to holler in pain. "That`s a god damn Targ!", came the reply from one of the marines as he took aim & phasered the beast with a well aimed shot to sever it`s head from it`s body, "who the hell would bring Klingon Targ on board a ship?", said the marine pushing at the now lifeless body with his boot. "Klingons may`be? or perhaps Madmen, that`s who", said Baxter as he stood up & prised the jaws of the detached head from his BDU to let it fall to the floor with a heavy wet splat just as Drew & the others came up behind them with the info the Major had required from the terminal. "Thanks Drew", said Kowalski as he surveyed the information displayed upon the offered PADD. "Ok, let`s keep moving", said Kowalski, "according to this Engineering is up ahead & 100 metres to the left, I`m transmitting this new information to your HUD computers", he added as they continued on with caution. Jo knew that she still carried the rank of First Lieutenant in the marines and in SFI. This meant that she should have been in command by rank. This was there party and she was not a gate crasher. As they came up to a junction the enemy attacked. Jo dived for cover as phaser fire dance around them mixing with the red light of the alert. "RETURN FIRE." Yelled the Sargent. Jo brought up her sidearm and fired. she saw one dark clad warrior bring its weapon to bear in her. she fired double tap and hit him in the chest. the warrior spun and fell to the floor. she realised that the position was stalling there assault and if they stayed her for much longer they would get flanked. The Sargent was way ahead of her. "Grenades." The first two photon grenades were set to stun. As the enemy warriors were trying to recover the others bounced into the junction and exploded with devastating effect. "Moving." Jo and the Sargent were the first two to reach the junction. the rest of the unit fanned out to cover the corridors leading off the junction. Jo saw movement out the corner of her eye. she turned and saw a Warrior trying to drag him self away. "Don't move." Jo walked towards the warrior with her sidearm raised ready to fire. "I said don't move." Jo walked over to a fallen warrior. she realised that they were covered in black combat armour like the marine Field BDU. she saw the warrior reach for a blade that was lying behind it. "Don't move." The warrior's hand reached the blades handle. Jo steeped forward and fired double tap through the helmets face plate. the warrior spasmed and died. "CLEAR." she called. The scheduled report in would have to begin soon, but as he was distracted as the councilor came storming onto the bridge and started to shout at the Captain. Sinjain tried to ignore the outburst and focus on the Marine chatter but the suddenly heard "Lt. Vasilyovna, put Mr. Taxia in the brig for 24 hours." He was shocked for a second, and realized that as the security officer on the bridge that HE would have to be the one to escort Taxia, but as he got up the Captain spoke up. "Delay that order", he said, and the knot in Sinjain's stomach loosened, so much for his first assignment. Sinjain focused back on his terminal, and listening into the radio chatter, the clock soon read 8:00, and that's when he sent out a message to the Marines: "This is the Spectre, 08:00 hours Routine status check, all teams report in" (reply any) (posted by Kevin Hickman) (USS Spectre - Bridge - CO T`Vhor - 07.33) The arrival of the distraught Councillor on the bridge did nothing at all to help the situation they had now found themselves in, they were in the middle of a crisis & Taxia had arrived hurling abuse at the Captain for apparently not doing enough to bring the situation under control. If he had been human, T`Vhor probably would have hauled him off & layed into him for insubordiation at his remarks, he however was of course not human, the Vulcan side dwelling within him allowed him to maintain some modicum of calm as the councillor continued to raise his voice demanding to know what was going on. The FO quickly came to his feet in responce, moving towards the Councillor as he did so. "Councillor, this is neither the time nor the place to-....", said Rogers as Taxia again cut him off. "The entire crew is mentally screaming, T'Vhor! They all feel so vulnerable! Not to mention they are angry about being left in the dark about this mysterious VIP. What should I tell them, honourable captain?", said Taxia mockingly. T`Vhor stood up from his chair & straightened his tunic before turning to face his questioner. Even he had had enough of the mans outbursts now regardless of that calm Vulcan side of his. "Mr Taxia", said T`Vhor, "your argument has no logic whatsoever, you arrive onto my bridge demanding answers, you question my actions & then you go on to quiery command decisions from the 52nd itself", said T`Vhor, his voice not once raising above what was expected of a Vulcan. Before he could go on though, the First Officer was there once again in the Captains defence. "Lieutenant, you cannot just storm onto the bridge and start demanding answers!", said Rogers, his voice raising a good deal higher now than that of his much calmer superior. T`Vhor raised his hand, he was appreciative of the FO`s supportive backup of course but this was his argument to disarm, the Councillor simply looked to Rogers & then back to the Captain once again. "What do you have to say, T'Vhor?", said Taxia. "My stance remains the same Councillor", said T`Vhor, "I have followed layed down Starfleet directives in regards damage sustained during an attack, all non essential areas are now off limits until further notice, repair crews are working at the best speed they are able & systems are coming back online as we speak", he added returning to his chair to sit down again. The Councillor made to raise his voice once again but T`Vhor countered him immediately. "Mr Taxia, may I remind you here & now that this is a ship of war & that we are in a crisis situation in the middle of Enemy territory", said T`Vhor. "This mission was always expected to be dangerous, the crew are well aware of this & all that can be done is now being done, with all due respects & to use a Human phraseology here, if you cannot stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen", said the Captain. (Reply Taxia, IYW) All at once the FO interjected once again, his annoyance at the councillors outbursts clearly getting the better of him now. "Lt. Vasilyovna, put Mr. Taxia in the brig for 24 hours", said Rogers, his anger combined with recent events having obviously caused him to miss the fact that Vasilyovna was no longer even on the bridge. She had departed of course after Ensign Liakan had arrived & taken her place!! The Captain turned abruptly in his chair at the FO`s words. "Delay that order", said T`Vhor curtly. "Mr Taxia, I have neither the time nor the inclination to pander to your objections, you will refrain from your outbursts this instance, you will return to your duties & you will do the job required of you & help maintain calm on this vessel", he added. "As ships Councillor, that is after all your job", said T`Vhor. I'll hurry along, I think we've got a date on the bridge," Bowie said. He bent over and secured the detpack, then set it to remote detonation, then to high-yield. (reply Bowie) (reply Bowie, any) (posted by Robbie) Enemy Vessel - Turbolift One - MXO Major Bruce Kowalski - 08:10) It was amazing how cramped a turbolift could actually be with four marines crammed tightly within it, the BDU`s didn`t help of course but as they watched the direction bar running up the rear wall of the turbolift, apprehension began to build in all of them as the comm channel suddenly crackled into life. =/\=Delta team in position sir=/\= Kowalski accessed his communicator & responded with a simple affirmative, then he checked his III-C once again before turning to the other men & nodding to indicate a state of readiness. Team one had now been split again into two of course, the remaining men on Delta having already negotiated a series of what would be the equivelant of Jefferies tubes on a starfleet vessel to stand ready to exit on the bridge. The idea was that once the turbolift was at deck one, the other team would stand by until ordered to engage from the opposite direction. Kowalski took a deep breath to fill his lungs as the progress bar slowed to a stop, the atmosphere was almost palpable & each man in the lift knew that whatever was on the other side of those doors now, they would have to deal with double quick or face the consequences of their slow reactions. The hiss of the doors opening of course heralded the onslaught of phaser fire as expected from a small group gathered on the bridge causing the marines to fall to the floor & leap to defensive positions outside the doors. In seconds, two of the marines had suffered minor hits from the bridge defence, but already two of the opposing number had fallen at the other end of marine phaser fire. Kowalski`s quick assessement of the firepower on the bridge told him that there were six black BDU`d soldiers at strategic positions around the bridge, two ducked down behind the tactical console, two in the niche leading off to a coriddor at the extreme right & a further two hidden in a hollowed out section just forward of the helm station. Without a thought, Kowalski pulled a photon grenade & set it for a two second delay, then he threw it to the niche with the requisite cry of "Fire in the hold" to warn the rest of his team. The Two opposing soldiers of course had nowhere to go except outwards, wether they wanted to go that way or not the resulting explosion sent them that way anyway as they were blown forth & onto the floor of the bridge in spectacular fashion. "Delta go!", cried Kowalski & all at once a rear panel on the bridge science station was shunted out of position followed by the emergence of the Delta team compliment. Two more soldiers were quickly & efficiently incapacitated, their kneecaps now tattered & cauterised by the pinpoint accuracy of Jones`s phaser rifle as they lay writhing in agony now upon the decking. Then came the announcement! [Self destruct has been activated, you now have five minutes to evacuate the ship....] "What the f.......", came a reply from one of the team. The sudden sound of laughter from the remaining soldiers rang in the marines ears as they stood up from their hiding places to drop their weapons & walk out into the open. "We hereby relinquish this vessel into your more than capable hands", said the enemy soldier smugly. Kowalski was upon him in a second, a rifle butt to the gut caused the soldier to double up & fall to the floor. "Access codes now!!!", cried Kowalski. The soldier simply smiled in defiance but said nothing. "Jones, shut that damn self destruct off now", said the MXO. Jones wasted no time at all as he slung his rifle over his back & sprinted over to the command terminal, he then kicked out the lower panel with a heavy boot before kneeling down & pulling a piece of equipment from his pack to interface it via four wires & a flexi ribbon into the vessels ODN command network. It took him a few seconds to initialise the equipment to the vessels command matrix, then he read off the information showing on the panel of the specially constructed piece of hardware in his hands. "It isn`t going to be easy sir", said Jones, "this is nothing like I`ve ever seen before" The soldier on his knees quirked his head to one side confidently & winked up at the MXO in a smug, brash manner. The gesture earned him another shove with the rifle butt, but he remained unmoved nonetheless. "Ever wondered what it`s like in hell soldier?", said the kneeling man. "Give me the damned access codes now you stubborn piece of shit!", cried Kowalski, "your going to die with us if you don`t" "Hey", said the soldier, "nobody said I was gonna live forever, I`m ready if you are bud", he added, his cockiness not shifting one inch under the tense situation that was evolving. Kowalski turned to Jones once again, his eyes searching his face for some sign that he was winning. [Self destruct in four minutes & ten seconds, option to override will terminate in three minutes fifty seconds] "Jones?", said Kowalski. "It`s no good sir, it`s too deep, I can`t get to the command subprocessor, it`s just..........", said Jones pausing at the end of his sentence now. "One moment sir.........I`m in sir", said Jones, sweat now breaking out on his forehead to mist the visor of his helmet. In an instance, he ripped it off & wiped his forehead clear of the sweat, then he returned to the task in hand. [Self destruct in three minutes twenty seconds, option to overide will terminate in one minute forty seconds] The soldier kneeling upon the floor smiled again & began singing a tune, "Bang bang, the mighty fall Bang bang, when love has called, Bang bang, the mighty fall......" Kowalski grabbed the man by the shoulder & hauled him up onto his feet, then he shoved him back into the command chair & placed the muzzle of his rifle against his chest. "I`ve just about had it from you my friend, wether we all go out in a big cloud of dispersing warp matter or you go on the end of this rifle makes no odds to me, your choice buddy, what`s it to be uh... come on soldier, time to pay the ferryman", cried Kowalski. "Sir....sir, I`m almost there", said Jones all of a sudden. [Self destruct in one minute ten seconds, option to override self destruct will terminate in 10...9...8...7...] "Now Jones, if your gonna do this it has to be now!", cried Kowalski. "One second sir", said Jones..... "One second is possibly all you have", said the MXO. [4...3...2.... self destruct has been terminated] Everyone of course breathed a massive sigh of relief at those words, well, everyone that is except the soldier now seaated in the command chair who simply scowled. "May`be next time Jarhead", he said. "Yeah, may`be", said Kowalski, "well done Jones, you had us going there for a moment or two". "Hey, the Jones machine is fit & able", said Jones as he pulled the wires from the terminal before returning his box of tricks to his pack. Because of the rush to repair the Spectre before the Marines were finished on the enemy ship, the ACEO's had personally taken a spot in repair teams to hurry it along. They rounded a corner and spotted a section of charred corridor. An EPS conduit had exploded, burning the walls and floor, however, it was contained and suppressed. They started passing through it, when they saw a door in the middle of the burned section was open a small bit. Chenoll glanced inside, and then shouted "Oh goodness!" she ran up to the door and started forcing it apart. The other engineers came to her assistance, and soon, they had it forced open. The room was an Engineering Support Room, one of the many rooms typically unoccupied during regular operations of the ship. A badly burned body and uniform was laying on the floor. The person had sought refuge inside this room, but the doors were closing about 1.5 seconds too late before the conduit exploded. "Who is she?" One of the engineers asked. The body was female from the shape and hair, and human from the skin tone and ears. "She's one of ours!" the second engineer said, pointing out the yellow uniform color. Suddenly, Chenoll realized who it was, and it made her sick to her stomach. "Its Lt. Angeletti," she said. The engineers didn't say anything. Chenoll got on her knees. "Lieutenant, can you hear me?" she asked. A slight moaning noise was heard from her face. ~At least she's alive,~ Chenoll said. A number of strange looking objects where set all around the room, none of which he recognised, but he assumed they where most likely of some religions importance to the Vulcan Captain. The only thing he really recognised was a Kal'tou Spare; The Vulcan game of logic. NRPG; (Did I spell it right? Hehe) RPG; "Sir, if I may speak?" (Reply Captain T'Vhor) "I would like persmisstion to lead a Science team over to the enemy vessel. I understand that we are not sure of what we are dealing with, so I think I could...Umm. "Dig up" some dirt on this thing." (Reply Captain T'Vhor) (Posted by Gavin Work) (Enemy Vessel - Bridge - MXO Major Bruce Kowalski - 08:45) "Damn vermin sons of furry bitches", said the MXO cursing aloud now at Smiths announcement. The question still stuck in his mind as to who the hell in their right mind brings Targ aboard any spacefaring vessel. The things were unpredictable & nasty at best, downright viscious at worst & the fact that they had survived the knock out gas that had been spread throughout the remaining enemy occupied decks was a testament to their resilience also. "Agent Smith", said Kowalski, "I want those things either rounded up & caged or evacuated out of the nearest airlock....do you copy that?", he added in a slightly irritated tone. (Reply Smith) "The former would be preferential to the later Miss Smith, I may be a cold blooded marine trained killing machine but the Targs are just doing what comes naturally, kill them as a last resort, round them up if you can", said the MXO. "They may just come in handy sometime", he added with the slightest of smiles forming upon his lips. (Reply Smith) The MXO then opened a channel to Bowie who had by that time gone down to engineering with some of the engineers to fire up the warp core again. "Status report Master sergeant if you please", said the MXO, "please Bowie, make it good news", he added. (Reply Smith, Bowie, Any) (Posted by Alan Reading) (Enemy Vessel - Corridor - Agent Smith- 08:47) =^=Agent Smith", said Kowalski, "I want those things either rounded up & caged or evacuated out of the nearest airlock....do you copy that?=^= Kowalski added in a slightly irritated tone. Jo grinned to her self. "Which would you prefer Major?" =^=The former would be preferential to the later Miss Smith, I may be a cold blooded marine trained killing machine but the Targs are just doing what comes naturally, kill them as a last resort, round them up if you can", said the MXO. "They may just come in handy sometime=^= he added "Copy that Major." Jo finally got to the last detpack and swiftly disarmed it. She then entered what use to be a lab of some sort. she crossed over to a console. "Computer can you put up internal scans on this console?" The computer beeped and she watched the deck lay out appear on the screen in front of her. ~humm there looks like the biggest bunch is on this deck and there are only on or two on the others~ "Computer can I have access to the internal force fields." [request denied] "Why is that?" [power is off line to those systems] ~well we'll see about that~ "Agent Smith to engineering team." =^=Go ahead Agent Smith.=^= "I need you to reroute power through the internal force fields. I'm doing a little bit of Targ hunting and I need them." =^= I'll see what I can do.=^= Jo waited for a couple of moments watching the big pack of Targs move around what looked like a mess hall. =^=Engineer Davies to Agent Smith. it should be up and running for you now.=^= She saw the console light up. "Thank you Davies. that's grate." Jo began to activate the internal force field around the mess hall and then began funnelling the targ out and along the corridor as she closed off the escape routes. ~there you go. keep going yes that's right~ She had finally forced them into a cargo bag. she had then sealed of the door and exits with more force fields. "Agent Smith to Major Kowalski. All detpack have been deactivated. I've got most of the Targs in cargo bay 8 but there are still a couple running around which are going to be a bit more difficult."
