Once inside he kept the lights off, he had been blinded by the harsh lights all day. He turned on a few lamps that were scattered through his place. As he made his way to the back of the quarters toward the shower he began taking his uniform off. After the shower, Jaret returned to the cozy living room wearing nothing but his skivvies. He layed upon the couch and grabbed a couch pillow and placed it under his head. "Computer, play random songs from personal playlist at level 4." The computer beeped as it complied with the request and music started to pipe through the speakers of his quarters. The music was relaxing. Jaret could feel all the stress and tension of the day slowly evaporating out of him. He closed his eyes, smiled and fell a sleep. (reply none, any) (posted by Calvin) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - TAC/SC Lt Cmdr Calvin Capps - 15:01) A jolt of air filled Calvin's lungs. He opened his eyes with surprise and horror. Surprised to be alive and horrified with all the memories still intact of how and why he was now in sickbay. Just as quickly as the infuser had been placed down his throat the Doctor took it out. A loud and itchy cough quickly followed, and Calvin's body became paranoid as he breathed at a fast pace until he realized his lungs were now able to take air in and out regularly. The Chief's eyes wondered the room and then stopped to look up at the Doctor. “Well, mister Capps, you sure gave us a shock.” Calvin was surprised to feel so normal at such a fast rate but there was a crisis as far as he could remember before he was hit in the back of the head. He sat up on the bed and looked down noticing his uniform was torn. "Am I fit to go back to duty?" “Well it’s against my better judgment, but,” Mitch turned to Kirien, “I’ll keep a monitor on you during the staff meeting.” ~Staff meeting, must have been out for a while.~ "Sounds good doctor." “Speaking of which, we need to head out that way," the doctor said as he looked at the time. "Ah, doc." Calvin said looking at his ripped uniform. "Can I change first," he asked while laughing. (reply Huval, any) (posted by Calvin) (USS Spectre - Observation Lounge - Acting CEO, Lt Christopher Adams - 16:04) Lieutenant Christopher Adams listened on as Captain T'Vhor described his theories on their attacker. The recently recovered Lieutenant Commander Capps followed up with an assessment of their tactical situation. "I wouldn't recommend getting us into any fire fight until we've had a chance to reinforce the hull," added Adams. "It's still going to be at least 48 hours until we have enough of the cracks in the superstructure patched in order to withstand any major hull stress. Besides that, we have warp capability, but we will need to limit it to warp seven until the reinforcements are in place. There are a lot of minor repairs all over the ship from the crash landing, but that shouldn't hold us up." (reply T'Vhor, any) (posted by Jason French) (USS Spectre - Observation Lounge - CO, Captain T'Vhor and Lt H'Chir - 16:05) The Captain nodded in agreement at his officers words and recommendations, Lieutenant Adams had made valid points about the ships condition and the last thing that they wanted now was to enter a full on firefight with a modified Prometheus, with only their shielding preventing them from all being sucked into space! "The fleet has been informed of the situation already", began the Captain, "the intention of the ETHOS equipped vessel is not known at this time but command are fully aware of the ramifications of it's presence", he added. (Reply Any, IYW) "Our 'breadcrumb' trail suggests that the ship is returning to Sol sector but at a maximum warp of only seven, we will not intercept it before it arrives there", said the Captain. (Reply Any) H'Chir then spoke from his sickbay bed. =/\=What about the phase cloak... at the last look in it was functional again so whereas we do not have the luxury of arriving beforehand, we could still arrive a little while after without anyone knowing we are there=/\= The Captain nodded and then brought his fingertips together in front of him. "What if the ETHOS vessel has a cloak also?", he asked, H'Chir quirked his head and then pondered on that for a moment. =/\=If the ship looks like us then what does it matter, anything that comes up against either of us is gonna be confused either way.... and, if it doesn't have a phase cloak then if someone out there is forced to make a decision to fire on one of us, having the ability to go out of phase will prove that we are the real Spectre=/\= (Reply Any, IYW) "A valid point", said the Captain, "I want double shifts on the repair work Lieutenant Adams, let us see if we can get that forty eight hour projection down a little bit", he added to the Acting CEO. (Reply Adams) H'Chir then spoke again, though it was entirely out of context. =/\=Captain, have you seen a Cherrub with a Hypospanner anywhere on the ship?=/\= The Captain raised an eyebrow in typical Vulcan surprise. "Cherrub Lieutenant?", he enquired, turning then towards Doctor Huval in the hope that he might be able to explain H'Chir's somewhat off topic conversation. (Reply Huval) "I see", said the Captain with a nod, then he turned to address H'Chir once again. "There are no Cherrub's onboard Lieutenant, it is not logical that there would be", he said stoicly. H'Chir huffed briefly and then frowned. =/\=Then it's left the ship... and it still has my hypospanner=/\= "Indeed", said the Captain and then he turned towards the other officers in the room. "Does anyone have anything else to report?", he asked. (Reply Adams, ANY) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Observation Lounge - Acting CEO, Lieutenant Christopher Adams - 16:06) The staff meeting continued with Lieutenant H'Chir attending through a video link from Sick Bay. The Chief Engineer made a good point reminding the others of the phased cloak, would be proof that they were the true Spectre. "A valid point," responded Captain T'Vhor. "I want double shifts on the repair work Lieutenant Adams, let us see if we can get that forty eight hour projection down a little bit." "Aye, sir," responded Lieutenant Adams. "I can pull a few people off the impulse diagnostic to help out. If we are going to be at warp for the next few days in pursuit of this ship, then making sure the impulse engines are at max capacity, won't really help out. So, we might as well use the man power to shore up the ship." =/\=Captain, have you seen a Cherrub with a Hypospanner anywhere on the ship?=/\= asked H'Chir from sickbay. "Cherrub Lieutenant?" responded the captain to the strange request. A puzzled look appeared on Adams's face as several people turned towards Dr. Huval who mouthed the word "delusional". Adams looked down at the ground sad that his immediate superior had obviously lost touch with reality. (reply any) (posted by Jason French) (USS Spectre - Observation Lounge - TAC/SC Lt Cmdr Calvin Capps - 16:07) Sitting in a much more comfortable place than the cramped, no air, behind the wall access hole, Calvin was in high spirits and in a great mood; despite the recent attack on the ship and his near death encounter. Calvin was extremely interested in the ETHOS project and was quite amazed by the technology. There had been mention of the phase cloak and it being operational to be used as a tactical advantage against the Spectre's attackers. ~This is going to get interesting.~ "Does anyone have anything else to report?", he asked. The Chief had nothing else to report so he remained silent. (reply any, all) (posted by Calvin) (USS Spectre - Observation Lounge - ACEO, Ensign Aldlar Durgil - 16:07) After the mention of the ETHOS system, a system which Aldlar had taken some interest to, Aldlar had been thinking. The possibility of running into the enemy ship was definitely large, and possibly even their goal, to an extent. Combat systems were necessary, but to repair them would take too long... Once a break opened itself, Aldlar spoke. "Y'know, we might be able to enter combat a little sooner and stop them if we focus our effort on one side of the ship. Old see battles typically went from broadside to broadside. Why can't we do the same? Reinforce one half of the ship, and repair the weapons on the same. That would give us limited combat abilities should we need them. I know this may sound a little off at first, but bear with me. Combat is really the only solution to the identity issue. If we can take down their power generators, then they will have no choice but to take down the ETHOS projection. Although the Phased Cloak being proof might work, It can be easy to trick people into thinking that you're out of phase, if you know what your doing. Forcing them to prove they have an ETHOS system would be proof enough, whether they are changing to, or from, an image of our ship." (Reply, Any) (Posted by: John) (USS Spectre - Observation Lounge - Acting CEO, Lieutenant Christopher Adams - 16:08) "Y'know," mentioned Ensign Aldlar Durgil. "we might be able to enter combat a little sooner and stop them if we focus our effort on one side of the ship. Old see battles typically went from broadside to broadside. Why can't we do the same? Reinforce one half of the ship, and repair the weapons on the same. That would give us limited combat abilities should we need them. I know this may sound a little off at first, but bear with me. Forcing them to prove they have an ETHOS system would be proof enough, whether they are changing to, or from, an image of our ship." "Excellent thinking, Ensign," responded Adams with a smile. "I'll have the repair crews concentrate on the port side. So, if we do have to go into battle, we should try and keep our enemy to that side of the ship. Hopefully we won't encounter anyone before the whole hull is repaired, but at least this gives us a back-up plan." Adams tapped a few things into his PADD, which was informing the repair crews to redirect their efforts to specific areas of the ship. (reply Durgil iyw) Once the meeting broken up, Adams approached Durgil. "I would ask you to help out, Durgil, but you look like you could use some rest. I'm sure that arm isn't feeling all that great either," Adams stated pointing at Aldlar's arms still in a sling from the injury he sustained during the crashing landing of the ship into the Vedean ocean. "Why don't you go to your quarters and relax and come back to Engineering at 01:00. We'll swap out and you can supervise the repairs while I get some shut-eye. Sound good?" (reply Durgil) "Good," replied Adams. "See you at 01:00." Adams left the conference room and headed down to Engineering. (reply Durgil) (posted by Jason French) (USS Spectre - Observation Lounge - ACEO, Ensign Durgil - 16:09) Aldlar had only nodded in response to Adams. He was pleased that his idea was liked, but he remained quiet to keep it from showing too much. He had the tendency to become slightly egotistical and take praise in a way that wasn't the best, so silence was the best way for him to keep from saying something he'd regret later. The meeting continued for a while yet, and Aldlar mainly just took notes of anything that would end up reflecting on his job. As he stood at the end, Christopher approached him. 'I would ask you to help out, Durgil, but you look like you could use some rest. I'm sure that arm isn't feeling all that great either. Why don't you go to your quarters and relax and come back to Engineering at 01:00. We'll swap out and you can supervise the repairs while I get some shut-eye. Sound good?' "Not quite as good as getting back to work now, but it'll have to do. I haven't really let my arm have any time to recover. And everyone knows you don't push and engine thats headed for a meltdown, if you get what I mean." Disappointment was apparent in Aldlar's voice, but not in a self-pitying way. Although he would have preferred to remain working, Aldlar knew that he probably had better get some rest. 'Good," replied Adams. "See you at 01:00. "Yep, see ya." Aldlar entered the turbolift. "Deck 11." (Reply, None) (Posted by: John) (USS Spectre - Observation Lounge - Counsellor, Ensign (JG) Nico Tchaikovsky - 16:09) "Does anyone have anything else to report?", Captain T'Vhor asked. Nico raised his hand slightly, gaining the captain's attention. "Although it's not urgent, sir, and given the seriousness of the threat we now face with this... this ETHOS situation, I think I just need to give a quick report on a situation which arose while the Spectre was incapacitated. Ensign Tolqu and I were able to intercept a smuggling operation in co-operation with the Vedeans. There's very little chance that the two are related, but ... well, the full report is available on the ship's computer." He nodded once and then thought about anything else to add. "Ah, and of course, given the serious nature of the attack I would imagine that the counselling services will be running at full capacity in the next few days. I would suggest everyone here make an appointment to debrief, particularly those involved in the skirmish below." He smiled. "And that's all from this corner." (Reply, Any, iyw) (Posted by Ben) (USS Spectre - Observation Lounge - ACMO, Ensign (JG) Mitchell Huval, MD - 16:10) "Cherrub Lieutenant?" The Captain turned to Mitch with the Vulcan equivalent of a confused glance. Mitch looked over at the engineer on the monitor for a moment then back to the captain. He mouthed the words: ‘He is delusional.’ "I see", said the Captain with a nod, then he turned to address H'Chir once again. The CO addressed the situation, part of which Mitch had suspected. This was why the Lieutenant was confined to Sickbay. He could get lost or hurt himself and others. ~So sad he can’t retake his post. It’s like amputating one of this ship’s limbs.~ Mitch sifted through reports on the PADD’s in front of him as the meeting continued. (Reply any) (Posted by Bobby Pirie) (USS Spectre - Observation Lounge - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 16:11) "Very well", said the Captain in response to his previous query, "then I propose that we waste no more time in delaying our pursuit of the hostile, it has approximately six hours advantage over us which, assuming that we are dealing with a Prometheus class vessel at high warp, will have taken it anywhere within a four point five light year area", he added. "We are warp capable to warp seven at present, at this speed we will make that distance in a little over one day", said the Captain, "it is of course, illogical to assume that we will intercept the vessel before it makes the Sol system, but we have communication on our side and a fleet that is aware that any ship matching our configuration arriving in the Sol sector within three days, may not be what it appears to be", he added. (Reply Any, IYW) NRPG: Room for more if need be... RPG: The Captain glanced around at his assembled officers, then after formally announcing Lieutenant Adams promotion to Lieutenant senior grade and his advancement to the post of acting Chief of Engineering in H'Chir's absense, he closed the meeting and ordered everyone to get to work. Each officer then stood and began to leave, talking amongst themselves now as they did so as the Captain signalled to Lieutenant Commander Capps to remain behind for a few more minutes. Then when everyone but himself, the First officer and Capps himself finally remained, he raised the question of the mans prior assault. "I did not want to bring this up in front of everyone else Calvin", said the Captain, "but I am fearful that there may still be an intruder on board intent on malice", he added. (Reply Capps) "The attack that you yourself sustained during our ascent, the fact that Commander Williams' sister has yet to be found, alive or dead", said the Captain in response, "it is logical to assume that Audrey Williams is the likely culprit, but internal sensors have failed to identify anyone currently aboard that does not fit in with our crew manifest" (Reply Capps) The Captain pondered his SEC Chiefs words, then he nodded appropriately. "A logical assumption. You have my permission to use all resources available to you Calvin, if she is still aboard then she needs to be found soon", said the Captain, turning briefly then towards his FO, conscious now that this was his sister they were talking about. "Andrew, I am sorry that it has to be this way but she must be found, we must assume that she still has the capability to bring the ship down and it is imperitive that she does not succeed in that", said the Captain. (Reply Williams) "I want you to work with Ensign Tchaikovsky on this, see if you can draw up a viable psychological profile on Audrey's current state of mind.... however, this must remain between us only for the time being. I don't want the crew panicking any more than they need to right now", said the Captain. (Reply Williams) "Then let us proceed. Gentlemen... after you", said the Captain, gesturing towards the door now with his hand. (Reply Capps, Williams, Any IYW) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Observation Lounge - TAC/SC, Lt Cmdr Calvin Capps - 16:15) The Captain closed the meeting so Calvin had stood from his chair, but he noticed that T'Vhor was attempting to gain his attention. The Chief looked toward his CO and realized that he was being asked to stay. He moved from his current chair and stood behind a chair closer to the Captain. The First Officer remained as well. "I did not want to bring this up in front of everyone else Calvin", said the Captain, "but I am fearful that there may still be an intruder on board intent on malice", he added. Calvin raised his hand and rubbed the back of his head while responding to the Captain's conclusion. "I understand how you could think that sir." "The attack that you yourself sustained during our ascent, the fact that Commander Williams' sister has yet to be found, alive or dead", said the Captain in response, "it is logical to assume that Audrey Williams is the likely culprit, but internal sensors have failed to identify anyone currently aboard that does not fit in with our crew manifest" ~Audrey Williams never found?~ Calvin questioned. "Understand Captain. Then she would be hiding who she really is under some type of cover. I can start an immediate protocol to locate any intruders among the ship. To do this successfully we cannot allow to know we are on to her. We need to keep this among senior crew and a need to know basis." "A logical assumption. You have my permission to use all resources available to you Calvin, if she is still aboard then she needs to be found soon", said the Captain. "Andrew, I am sorry that it has to be this way but she must be found, we must assume that she still has the capability to bring the ship down and it is imperitive that she does not succeed in that", said the Captain. (reply Williams, T'Vhor) (posted by Calvin) (USS Spectre - Observation Lounge - FO, Williams - 16:16) Andrew waited for the other officers to leave before looking at the Captain. "I did not want to bring this up in front of everyone else Calvin, but I am fearful that there may still be an intruder on board intent on malice" "I understand how you could think that sir." "The attack that you yourself sustained during our ascent, the fact that Commander Williams' sister has yet to be found, alive or dead" Andrew nodded slowly but controlling his emotions. "it is logical to assume that Audrey Williams is the likely culprit, but internal sensors have failed to identify anyone currently aboard that does not fit in with our crew manifest" "I Understand Captain. Andrew nodded. “I understand Captain. Unfortunately knowing my sister she is very resourceful and imaginative, this will not be an easy task. "I want you to work with Ensign Tchaikovsky on this, see if you can draw up a viable psychological profile on Audrey's current state of mind.... however, this must remain between us only for the time being. I don't want the crew panicking any more than they need to right now", said the Captain. He gave a slight sigh and nodded again. “Yes Captain.” "Then let us proceed. Gentlemen... after you", Andrew nodded and they left the observation lounge. He turned to T’Vhor as they entered the bridge. “If you will excuse me Sir I’ll get started.” With a quick nod to Capps he turned and headed for the turbolift. As the turbolift doors shut he tapped his commbadge. “Williams to Counsellor Tchaikovsky.” (Reply Tchaikovsky) “Counsellor I would like to meet you in my quarters at your earliest convenience. I have a matter I need to talk to you about.” (Reply Tchaikovsky) (Reply Tchaikovsky any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Turbolift - Counsellor, Ensign (JG) Nico Tchaikovsky - 16:18) Nico leaned against the wall of the turbolift as it glided down towards the medical deck. The threat to the Sol system weighed on his mind, and the implications of the ETHOS project as well. He thought that the civil war had ended, but it appeared that things were not always so neatly concluded. =/\= Williams to Counsellor Tchaikovsky. =/\= Nico stood to attention at the sound of the First Officer's voice. He tapped his commbadge. "Yes sir." =/\=Counsellor I would like to meet you in my quarters at your earliest convenience. I have a matter I need to talk to you about.=/\= "Yes sir," he said quickly. "I was planning on signing in with the Chief Counsellor, but I'm sure that can wait if you need to see me now." ~Of course, why doesn't Williams ask to see me in a counselling office,~ he wondered. ~If it was a professional request then the counselling suite would have been the best place, wouldn't it? What else could it be about? Have I done something wrong... already?~ (Reply Williams, iyw) (Posted by Ben) (USS Spectre – FO’s personal Quarters - FO, Williams - 16:28) Andrew looked at the small image on his desk. It was of him and his sister. It was the day he had gotten accepted to the Academy. She was in her graduating year and had fast tracked it into Intelligence. He had on the other hand chosen medicine. The image was of both of them in their cadet uniforms grinning like idiots with the academy building in the back ground. “Blimy sis, how things have changed since that day ah.” The door chimed. “Open.” In walked Ensign Tchaikovsky. “Counsellor thank you for coming so quickly. Would you like a drink before we start?” (Reply Tchaikovsky) Andrew nodded as he went over to the replicator and placed the order. He picked it up and walked over to the small alcove table in the corner of the room which he indicated Tchaikovsky to sit as well. He sat down and sipped at his drink before looking at Tchaikovsky. ~If he can help he needs to know all the information~ “Counsellor Tchaikovsky what I am about to tell you is only know to three people including the Captain.” He gave him a hard stare. “You will be the fourth. There will not be a fifth person do you understand.” (Reply Tchaikovsky) “Good. I know that you were in orbit when we crashed and were subsequently boarded but I gather you are up to speed with the particulars?” (Reply Tchaikovsky) “Okay the person who led the assault on us was my Sister Audrey Williams. She was a member of Admirals Doenitz intelligence service and went underground when they lost the civil war. She is highly intelligent and well motivated she will stop at nothing in completing her mission. Our problem is that she is somewhere on this ship and we do not know where. She has already tried to kill Lieutenant Commander Capps and has nasty things in store for use if we do not catch her first.” He paused slightly giving Tchaikovsky a chance to take it all in as he sipped his Ornaran tea. “I am telling you this because the Captain has asked us to get together a profile on her to try and work out what her next step would be.” He gave a slight sign and rubbed his hands over his face before carrying on. “I could do one no problem but I am too close. I need someone who has the training and ability to do one.” He looked at Tchaikovsky. “You are the perfect choice and also you do not have any emotional baggage that would cloud your judgement.” (Reply Tchaikovsky) (Reply Tchaikovsky, any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - FO's Personal Quarters - Counsellor, Ensign (JG) Nico Tchaikovsky - 16:29) Outside the FO's quarters, Nico paused and straightened his uniform. His fingers touched on the ensign's pip at his throat and he realised that he was really doing this, he was really serving aboard a startship. ~And about to talk privately with the FO.~ He pressed the door and heard Williams' voice. The door swished open and he walked in. Williams was standing, ready for him. "Counsellor, thank you for coming so quickly," he said. "Would you like a drink before we start?" "Thankyou, er, no," he said, coming into the room and looking around as harmlessly as he could. "Actually, sir, I am a little uncertain as to the nature of this ..." He gestured with his hands. "... this - what we're doing here. Here, instead of the counselling suites, I mean." (Reply: Williams) Williams was at the replicator and Nico shrugged. "Uh, I'll just have a water, thanks." Williams brought the drink over to a small alcove table in the corner of the room and Nico sat and watched the FO sip thoughtfully at his own drink. There was something seriously on his mind, Nico knew. And in that moment Nico knew that this meeting was certainly about Williams, and not about Nico. That revelation made Nico feel confident somehow, and he was keen to provide whatever assistance he could. "Counsellor Tchaikovsky, what I am about to tell you in only known to three people including the Captain." Williams' eyes were locked on to Nico's. "You will be the fourth. There will not be a fifth person, do you understand?" "I have sworn an oath, sir, and you can be certain that anything that is said between us today will remain in confidence for as long as I live." Nico held the FO's stare, the counsellor's sincerity reflected in his open gaze. "Good. I know that you were in orbit when we crashed and were subsequently boarded, but I gather you are up to speed with the particulars." "I've read a few reports that were flagged, sir. The Vedeans also allowed me access to their records briefly so I read a little on the energy field they were able to produce. As for the attackers I believe they are currently apprehended on planet, sir. But that may be the limit of my knowledge." "Okay, the person who led the assault on us was my sister Audrey Williams." Nico nodded slightly, pieces falling slowly into place. Williams explained that Audrey had been a member of Admiral Doenitz' intelligence service and was effectively a rogue agent now - deadly and calculating. "Is the Lieutenant Commander okay?" Nico asked, barely keeping up to speed with the Commander's words. (Reply: Williams, iyw) And then Williams revealed Nico's involvement. Nico was to assist with a psych profile on Audrey Williams. "I could do one no problem, but I am too close," Williams said. "I need someone who has the training and ability to do one." "It's what I'm here for," Nico said. "You are the perfect choice and also you do not have any emotional baggage that would cloud your judgement." "I'll take that as a compliment," Nico said. "But in all seriousness, I would hope that you will assist me. If we are to keep this report just between us and the Captain, then I can't really go nosing around the ship's records." (Reply Williams) (Posted by Ben) (USS Spectre - Deck 10, Security Center - TAC/SC, Lt Cmdr Calvin Capps - 16:30) Every starship has a bridge just like every sickbay has a main operating room. The Security Center was no different in its design. Within the Security Center was a room to the immediate right once you had entered nicknamed The Watcher. It was known as The Watcher because is was the center of the Center, the brains of the department. It knew everything, it watched everything and it recorded everything. Among other areas such as the Bridge and Engineering; The Watcher room was a close tie, in meaning of being secured and protected. Inside of The Watcher many operations and duties occured. It was normally manned by a total of 4 crewmembers and 1 officer. On a normal day this would be the team that would solve all security issues including delegating orders, responding to any security calls and so forth. On a day like today it would have handled all the top priority issues as a second team would have been assembled for any minor ones. The Watcher held all equipment necessary to do any type of job fast and it would be the room that Calvin would need in order to find such a clever and Starfleet Intelligence trained woman. The room was kept dark with only monitors lights giving off a glow. The largest screen in the room was half the size of the view screen on the bridge and was positioned on the wall at the front of the room. In front of the screen were three rows, each row on its own level, filled with consoles and equipment. At the top and the fourth level was an office where the Officer would normally be if not on an active call. Calvin walked into The Watcher and all crewmen showed their respect immediately and then continued to work. He walked up the short ramp to the 4th level and found Lt. Bugel sitting in the office. "Lt Bugel," began Capps. Calvin went on to explain that he would be using The Watcher for a classified project and that the team would need to coordinate on deck 6, Security Station Gamma. The Lt. called attention to his team and minutes later the Security Chief had the room to himself. Although The Watcher was usually run by 5 members it was capable of taking voice commands to run its systems. Calvin wasted no time. "Computer start new protocol. Name: Capps S1, level: 5, code: 554891 Alpha, Omega, Zero" [Protocol created.] "On stardate 2414.01.04 at 1148 hundred hours a transport took place initiated from the SS Barwon. Locate transport file and run a level 3 scan." [Transport file found, scan initiated. Estimated time of completion: 15 minutes.] "Show scan on main viewer." The Chief watched the data jump on the screen in front of him. He studied it as the scan continued. He had to find the First Officer's sister and he had to do it quickly. She had managed to slip out of sickbay and away from the pest who was following her with out to much of an incident. She would be keeping a very close eye on him. Her plan was nearly at the end game. The bomb planted at power really junction box delta twenty six had gone unnoticed which was good. She now had access to the saucer separation actuation controls which she could activate in an instant. The virus she had implanted when she had arrived seamed to have integrated her new persona to the ships systems perfectly. She could now hide in plane sight. Things had not totally gone her way. The ship had made orbit had made her change her plan and that stupid Second Officer for stumbling on the booby trap had made her step up her plans but it could have been a lot worse. She rubbed a hand through her hair she headed for the shower. She needed to be ready for the final chapter. (Reply Any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - FO's Personal Quarters – Counsellor, Ensign (JG) Nico Tchaikovsky - 16:36) Nico brought up the secure files on Audrey Williams. The first thing he notied was her profile image and he could tell she was Williams' sister. Her early years seemed to be unremarkable, at least in a criminal sense, and she was credited with getting Williams to apply for Starfleet. Nico pulled up related articles and cross-referenced with Williams' records, all the while using his padd to record findings and ideas. The padd had been disconnected from the main ship's computers and was connected solely with Williams' secure one. The more he read the more Nico realised that keeping something from Audrey when she was on the ship, was going to be difficult. She showed incredible daring - almost to the point of self-sacrifice. What they had on her from the civil war period was brutal but also something like genius. Nico wondered if she was a sociopath. There were a few isolated incidents in her youth which could - possibly - be used as foundation for such a diagnosis; however it was her more recent activity which showed the real warning signs. An utter lack of remorse in her actions. A bad temper, although she also showed clinical precision when working alone. A disregard for her own safety. There was also a family history of addiction, the FO included. After fifteen minutes, Williams left the room. Nico wasn't really getting much that the ship's FO didn't already know. Audrey Williams was loose on the ship. She wanted revenge, but the target was unclear. Nico felt that the bond between Andrew and Audrey was strong, probably one of their only chances of defusing the situation if capture was not possible. Nico ran his hands back through his hair and stretched. Audrey Williams had led an attack on the Spectre. He needed to know why. The logical conclusion would have it linked to her brother. Williams returned to the room just in time and Nico looked at him. "How would you describe your relationship with your sister?" he asked. (Reply: Williams) "These databases have been useful, but I can't do an assessment using third hand material. I'd really need to see her, talk with her... I know, that's ridiculous." The ETHOS programme was involved, and that had links back to the civil war, specifically the unbalanced leadership which Audrey had been a member of. It was quite possible, even probable, that Audrey Williams had been involved in the development of the programme. She had shown a great aptitude for computers and weapons systems. She was highly trained in combat, security and operations. "Looking at all of this I'd say she's a very dangerous person to be having on the ship. Even in custody I'd say she posed a significant threat, but having her running around will only lead to injuries, maybe even deaths. She's ruthless. And if she has come up here into orbit then she knows that the 'situation' has shifted, probably away from her advantage. Even with that she has continued. A woman with her capabilities would have been able to get off the ship before it regained orbit, so I'd say she has something to complete here. Given your connection I'd say you're involved. It's very likely you two will cross paths, even if you're not the target, I would say she is fairly likely to want to show herself to you, to check up on you." (Reply: Williams) "Do you or the captain have a plan?" Nico asked. "She's coming after something, and given her precision with explosives I'd say the ship is in danger, but you already know that. I'm not sure what else I can do, except maybe go to a place she is likely to arrive and then see how the thing unfolds." (Reply: Williams) (Posted by Ben) (USS Spectre - First Officer's Personal Quarters – FO Williams - 16:41) "How would you describe your relationship with your sister?" he asked. “When we were children she was always looking after me. As my older sister she made sure I got out of trouble and took care of me. We got a lot closer when our parents died. By that time she had already gotten into the academy and said that I should join but wanted to do a few things before. We drifted apart until I got to a point in my life where I was not sure what to do next so Audrey said that I should join Starfleet and do medicine. So I joined Starfleet and we became close again as she was nearly qualifying. Then the civil war started and we were on opposite sides. I lost contact with her then as to be expected but she did try and blow up the ship once which did not really entice a close sibling relationship.” "These databases have been useful, but I can't do an assessment using third hand material. The computer beeped after 15 minutes had passed calling the Chief's attention to the front screen. Calvin stood behind a console on the second level platform inside of The Watcher room. Bobbing his head down and up from the screen to the console, he took over the controls to investigate the readings from the transporter scans. From first glance he found nothing unusual. "Computer, does this transport follow protocol?" [Transport 24140104-26 follows Starfleet transporter regulations within 0.34 variance. Transport successful.] ~Audrey was not found at the transport site, she was also not found in the secondary life support room. So she had to be transported, but where?~ "Computer, are there any other ending transports on the USS Spectre at the time of transport 24140104-26," he asked looking at the screen to pull up the transport number. [One] "Where does that transport originate from?" The computer made an odd beeping sound and responded, [file corrupted.] "What was the ending destination of the corrupted transport?" [Research Section] "Computer, pull up all surveillance feed in the research section between 1145 and 1150 for today. The computer again made an odd beeping sound. Even has he wondered it he knew it was because he was hunting a professional. On the large view screen at the front of the room the video began to play. It was blurry, choppy, and pixelated. Only portions of the screen were see-able at one time. Around 1148 the research facility doors came to life and allowed a woman, maybe, out of the room. "Pause," Calvin demanded quickly. "Who is that?" [Unknown, no communication identity number is found.] "Lock on to that pin and follow. Show me all available feed with that pin." [Protocol initiated. He knew he could keep working, but to say such made no difference. Repair crews had taken everything in hand, and a supervisor wasn't really needed. As he entered his quarters, Aldlar sighed, wishing he could be at work. The few things he had out had been spilled over during all the shaking from the recent events. It only took a few moments to clean them up, and Aldlar soon found himself sitting in the armchair, looking down at the PADD of schematics he'd been working on. ~I don't know... Some could say it's just a tool, but... Is it worth trying?~ Aldlar looked across the room at the metal casing on the desk. It's cover was off, laying to it's side, the cybernetic pathways open for work. Aldlar changed his gaze to the Iso-linier chip in his hand. Maybe the base concept had become too smart, but would this? Aldlar decided that some things should wait longer than others, putting the chip down, and changing the file on the PADD from the schematics to an engineering manual. She unfolded her self from her sitting positing on the floor. She had spent time clearing her mind of any distraction so that she could fully concentrate on the mission ahead. It was not he fact that she could not concentrate but as she had the time it was better to take and time while she had it. She got up from the floor and pulled out a uniform out of a cupboard which she had replicated earlier. She got dressed and placed her comm badge and rank insignia in there places. Then she ordered some food and sat at the table. She was waiting for the shift change to better hide her moments but that meant waiting for it to happen. (Reply any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Deck 10, Security Center - TAC/SC, Lt Cmdr Calvin Capps - 17:00) With a strong hunch Calvin viewed over the files that were listed as being flagged with the pin on the suspected woman. Over the last few hours the un-identified woman had been busy. She visited or worked in the jefferies tube at delta twenty six, stellar cartography, primary computer core, storage bay on deck 5, sickbay which she entered with Lt Bates, and to personal quarters. Almost every feed had some type of error associated with it so that it would not allow the woman to be seen. Although Calvin was sure this woman was Audrey he didn't react immediately. It could be a mistake, but he needed to stay calm and find for certain that it was. If he acted to soon and allowed Audrey to realize they knew she was still on ship she could hang low and go right underneath the radar. The Chief needed her to be working her plan in order for him to catch her. The only feed that wasn't corrupted was from Sickbay. Because of the medical instruments in sickbay, whatever technology the woman was using to distort the feeds had failed due to the safety cautions of Sickbay. Lt Cmdr Capps watched feed intently as he hoped to grab a clear picture of the woman's face. It took a while into the feed but as she was leaving Sickbay the camera strip was able to capture a quick glance from the suspected woman. "Computer run facial recognition, based on this still." This was the first time he had been back since the whole incident with the mystery ship, leaving he, the captain and other members of the senior staff stranded on the surface. Mitch looked around his quarters, he had had them modified to accommodate a small full kitchen complete with oven, cook top, cold storage unit and various cabinets. In the nook, pots and pans were thrown about. Near his desk, PADD's and books lay all about. Everything was covered in dust. He walked up to his desk and turned his computer display right side up. He then looked at an old Terran book still right where he left it. It was his copy of "Grey's Anatomy." ~Still there old friend, always there.~ Mitch turned to the desk display screen. Readouts of various mission reports and logs were updated. One was his report to Starfleet Medical concerning H'Chir. He noted the captain's deferment of his judgement at the end of the report. Mitch was about to record his evening officer's log, when a comm chime went off. "Yes, this is Doctor Huval." He turned to look at the larger view screen on the wall behind his desk. There, set between his book shelves, was the image of his son. The New France Colony "CommCorp" logo was in the corner of the screen. =^="Hi daddy."=^= The look of shock on his face gave way to joy, "Michael, it's been two weeks buddy, you and mom can't call more often." =^="Mom said you were busy"=^= "Never too busy for my boy, how's school?" =^="Dad, I don't go to school..."=^= "Oh that's right, they call it Civil Education there, well are you getting high marks?" =^="Very high, Melessa says I'm progressing further than the others. I got the highest grade in the class for my biology lesson..."=^= "Just like your dad. You know Michael, I did very well at science when I was your age." The conversation went on like this for some time. Mitch enjoyed talking to his son, even if they were hundreds of light-years apart. When about ten minutes had gone by, he realized Michael was obviously getting tired. Mitch smiled. "Time for bed?" =^="Mom says."=^= There was much more than a hint of sarcasm in the child's voice. "Well, you better get to sleep. We'll talk tomorrow buddy." =^="Come on dad..."=^= Michael yawned and sleepily blinked his eyes. Mitch smiled again. Singing his son to sleep, Mitch always recalled an old Earth song. He was unsure how he knew the song exactly but it had always been there, kind of humming in the back of his mind. "Watching in a trance, the crew certain. Nothing left to chance, all is working. Trying to relax, up in the capsule. 'Send me up a drink,' jokes Major Tom... the count down starts... four, three, two, one! Earth below us, drifting, falling, floating weightless calling, calling home!" Seeing that his son was asleep, Mitch terminated the transmission. "Good night, buddy" The monitor went dark and Mitch was alone, he sat at his desk staring at the floor. Mitch knew the rest of the song, though he had never sung it for Michael. Stacie, Michael's mother, thought it was not very appropriate. She did not understand. With a sob, he let a single tear roll down his face. (Reply None) (Posted by Calvin) (USS Spectre - Bridge - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 17:25) The Captain had just emerged from within his ready room having spent fifteen or so minutes in communication with Admiral Gellard of Starfleet Command, briefing him on their latest developments. It seemed that Gellard had already been authorized to close the outermost markers of the Sol sector, which effectively meant that nothing now was going to come in or leave the system without a thorough rundown beforehand. Starfleet it seemed, was not in the habit these days of taking unnecessary risks, especially when there was a ship out there that could effectively assume the identity of any other! It meant little that the ETHOS project had been scrapped by order of the Galactic Cooperative years beforehand, and Gellard had been most surprised that something matching it's configuration was actually on the prowl so to speak. Needless to say though, the news had ruffled a few feathers at SFC and questions were now being asked amongst the higher ranks regarding security leaks and such. Indeed, a few Admirals had even been hauled in for quizzing on this matter, and that was not something that you saw every day! The important thing though was that a net of sorts was now cast, and if the Spectre doppleganger was going to choose to make a run into the Sol system, for whatever reason, then contingencies were duly in place for any such eventuality. Entering onto the bridge, the Captain noted that things seemed to be in order and that everyone was in a relaxed mood at their respective stations. The First officer stood upon his approach of course, relinquishing the centre seat to the Captain as he made his way towards it. The Captain then called for a report, as per protocol upon returning to the bridge. (Reply Williams) The Captain then began accessing his armrest console to oversee the ships operational status. Warp power was stable at warp seven and the SIF and inertial dampeners were functioning as expected, Ops had recently made an entry to the effect that the main feed was fluctuating just slightly, but still well within tolerance and able to continue under it's present loading. All in all, everything seemed to be well... but then suddenly, the CO began experiencing a feeling of tension via his Betazoid empathic sense that was not unlike a coiled spring in it's quality. Briefly he glanced about the bridge, his gaze settling upon each officer as they worked at their stations. Nobody looked out of place, nobody 'looked' tense.... ~How odd~ The Captain raised an eyebrow and then duly dismissed the intrusive feeling in order to return to his armrest console and the systems evaluation he had been running moments beforehand. There had been a lot of tension on the ship over the last day and he had probably just sensed the general mood of a crew uncertain of what they would find when they eventually found the hostile vessel they were currently tracking. The Captain's armrest console once again confirmed that everything looked good, everything was indeed performing within the parameters dictated by their current level of damage, but nonetheless, he was still concerned about their elusive crewman, a thought which immediately led on to just how Lieutenant Commander Capps might be doing on that matter. The Captain then made to open a channel to the TAC/SC accordingly, only to note the turbolift doors open and the very man himself suddenly enter onto the bridge! He seemed tense, his eyes scanning the bridge as he stepped onto it, then came that feeling once again and the Captain knew that something was not right..... (Reply Williams, Any) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Bridge - Crewman, Amy Bruce (Audrey Williams) - 17:26) Audrey entered the bridge. She moved smoothly across the bridge towards the mission ops console which was unmanned. As she crossed the bridge her eyes picked up every thing. ~Andrew is in the chair. The Captain is not here. The Helms manned, ops, engineering, tactical but not the TAC/SC is not here interesting~ She activated the console and ran a diagnostic while being in a position to keeping an eye on the bridge. She nodded and gave a shy smile to the crewman next to her as she began to tap on the console. She had made sure every thing was in place. She was prepared for what was going to happen next. She saw T’Vhor enter the bridge and walk over to the command chair that Andrew vacated. She saw then pass information between them but they both looked calm and relaxed. As Audrey looked at her brother she noticed that he did look a bit tired. ~You really should get some more R&R Andrew or you’ll wear yourself out~ She saw movement out the corner of her eye as the turbolift doors opened and Capps stepped out on to the bridge. She kept focusing on her console as she observed his scanning the room until he found her. She looked up and glared at him because he knew who she really was. ~Shit~ She gave a slight sigh and muttered to the crewman next to her. “Sorry about this.” She lashed out at his bemused face before his mind could comprehend what was happening. There was a loud crunch as her elbow connected to his nose which exploded with blood. She stepped round him grabbing his windpipe and forcing his head up as she used his body as a shield. With a flick of her wrist a concealed palm phaser dropped into her hand which she jammed into the soft tissue behind his jaw. “No body move. Don’t even think about it Andrew. Hands where I can see them. I have no qualms about ending this young mans life. So no body do anything funny. You have the conn.” As the Captain accessed his armrest console to get a more detailed overview of the ships status Andrew headed over to the bridge replicator. This was going to be along shift and he needed something to keep him going. As he reached the replicator he saw Capps step onto the bridge. He was about to go over and talk to him when he noticed the Capps was scanning the room. ~Oh ow~ Capps suddenly found who he was looking for as Andrew heard a startled cry behind him and spun around. He saw a crewwoman holding a crewman by the neck with his broken nose streaming down the front of his uniform and a phaser jammed into the side of his jaw. ~Hell looks like we found her then. Blimy she’s different~ “No body move.” Andrew’s hand slid towards his phaser. “Don’t even think about it Andrew. Hands where I can see them. I have no qualms about ending this young mans life. (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Bridge - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 17:28) The instance that the crewman, now evidently one 'Audrey Williams', had struck the Ensign near the OPS console, the entire bridge crew had tensed up in surprise and complete dismay. The Captain was on his feet within seconds and facing her of course, his logical mind quickly seeking out the most advantageous solution to the situation that had evolved, but ultimately finding none. Clearly, what was needed here right now was calm, no sudden actions from anyone and the Captain conveyed that to the bridge crew almost instantaneously. "Everyone, please remain precisely where you are", he said calmly, whilst focusing upon Williams and holding his attention upon her. She had stated quite clearly that she had no qualms about spattering her young hostage's brains over the ceiling of the bridge, and T'Vhor knew instinctively that she had meant every word that she had said. "You cannot escape here, you have nothing to gain from these actions other than your own demise", he stated. (Reply Audrey, Any) It was then that the TAC/SC interjected with the statement that she had been 'caught', thus backing up the Captain's own statement that any cause she had here would indeed, be completely fruitless. An officer immediately beyond her and to her left however had seemingly seen an opening of a sort and had chanced his luck by moving slowly towards Audrey where she stood. This had been despite the Captains recommendation that everyone remain still, but to draw attention to it now would no doubt mean certain death for either the hostage or the officer currently trying his luck! For a moment, there seemed to be a stalemate, Audrey looked calm although the Captain's Betazoid senses told him she was anything but. Capps had just asked what it was that she required and the Captain felt no need right now to interject with further queries to compound matters. He merely remained focused, and calm, and awaited Audrey's answer. I have no qualms about ending this young mans life. So no body do anything funny. I do not want to be forced to splatter his brains across the bulkhead," exclaimed Audrey. Calvin knew as his eye's locked onto Audrey's that she would immediately react to violence. The reports that he had studied on her and his general past experience in security and operations told him of this fact. That was why even as Audrey grabbed the young officer on the bridge standing next to her he had raised his own phaser. Normally phaser fire would not be allowed on a starship but the Security Chief had a gut feeling that Audrey had already disabled it. Lt Cmdr Capps knew he was a marksman but his moral judgment told him that he could not and would fire at Audrey while she was holding a hostage in such a dangerous way. He needed to find a way for another officer to flank Audrey from behind. Calvin still standing inside of the turbolift took two paces out of it with his phaser pointing in Audrey's direction. He used her real name to voice that he knew it was her. "Audrey, you are caught. Do not go on with any more unnecessary violence," Calvin started. He had to be careful to not look around the room to see what everyone else was doing. He didn't want to give anything away. He trusted his crew to take any advantage possible. (reply Audrey, any others) Without looking away Calvin noticed a movement behind Audrey, but did not focus on it. He put his own plan into action to help. Stepping to his right and hoping that Audrey would turn her body toward him to create more space behind her, he responded. "Audrey," he used her name again, "what is it that you want?" "Audrey," He noticed her twitch ever so slightly. ~Oh no, move~ "what is it that you want?" He stepped up behind her as she sharply turned. She froze as he stood there with his phaser pointed at her. “Put the weapon down.” He saw a faint smile flicker across her face. ~Ow no you don’t~ He saw her finger twitch over the phaser. He fired his phaser it hit her in the chest. Her body spasamed and then collapsed on the floor. “I’m sorry.” He whispered as he stepped over to her. He attempted to keep the conversation between him and Audrey going as the FO flanked behind her. Audrey knew something was wrong and turned her body around as Commander Williams pointed a phaser at her. Calvin couldn't hear the next exchange of words between the two but the phaser being fired was obvious. The Chief ran over to Audrey's body which was now laying on the floor. He knelled down to check on her. "Dr," he said looking up to the FO, "transport her to isolated sickbay. I will have a team there waiting for her." (reply T'Vhor, Wiliams, any, all) (posted by Calvin) (USS Spectre - Bridge - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 17:38) Everything had seemed as if it had slowed down somewhat, Audrey had seemed uncertain even though her words had spoken nothing but confidence. She had said nothing at all about her requirements, her goals or indeed anything that might be considered a bargaining tool, the only thing she did have was the young Ensign's life, quite literally in her hands. Lieutenant Commander Capps had asked her what she had wanted and she had remained silent on that, and as she held the Captains and SEC Chiefs attention, the First officer had taken a step to the side and had somehow managed to place himself in such a position whereby he now faced her back. The fact that Audrey had not seen him do that said one of two things, either she was of the opinion that her brother would not dare harm her and that she therefore did not consider him a threat, or she had simply mis-calculated the arena due to tiredness. The moment that Andrew had finally spoken though was the moment that she suddenly realized her mistake, and the Captain could feel that as though it were almost palpable. The love between a brother and a sister was still there and yet now, there was this insurmountable gulf between them. "Put the weapon down", Williams had ordered, the expression upon his face one of angst ridden concern for his fellow shipmates, and a certain regret that it had finally come to this. A brother, holding a weapon against his sister! Audrey simply smiled. It was as though she felt that deep down her brother would not pull the trigger, how could he? they were the same flesh, the same blood, if he were to pull the trigger he would be firing upon himself... wouldn't he? The First officer remained steadfast nonetheless, his starfleet training coming into play now as he tried his best to portray the calm, logical thought processes that he hoped would convince his sister to lower her weapon and capitulate. That however, was not to be.... T'Vhor had sensed Audrey's intent, she was about to fire her phasor, something within her breaking just that little bit more as her finger began it's gentle squeeze upon the trigger. Andrew had seen it also, the sorrow in his eyes betraying the calm intent that he was trying to project. Audrey took the full phasor hit upon her chest and instantly fell to the floor, the First officer moved towards her almost instantaneously and then he knelt over her, his hand cradling her face. "I'm sorry", he said, but the entire bridge crew was silent and his heartfelt words hung in the air. The Captain did'nt waste any time at all, his hand was upon his combadge in an instance. "Medical emergency on the bridge, please respond immediately", he called, and then he moved towards the FO and his striken sibling and placed a hand upon his shoulder. "Help is on it's way Andrew".... (Reply, Williams, Any) (Posted by Alan) (Marine Trojan - Cockpit - MXO, Major Bruce Kowalski - 17:40) The Trojan was now at it's maximum design speed of Warp four, approximately One hundred thousand clicks ahead of the Spectre's position. It's course had been deliberately staggered in order to obtain the widest possible sensor sweeps so as to bolster the Spectre's own, which were of course running on less than full power. At it's slower speed however the distance between the two vessels was rapidly diminishing and it would not be long before the Spectre would be upon her. The Trojan had actually left Vedea IV well before the Spectre had departed, it's mission to relay enhanced long range sensor data to the bigger ship, and also keep an eye out for any sign that the mystery ship might still be lurking somewhere nearby. So far though, nothing was showing on the sensors apart from remnant traces of ionised gasses that may, or may not have been left by the warp nacelles of the Prometheus variant that had attacked them. Either way it was passed on to the Spectre for evaluation as ordered. Taking a sip of coffee from his cup, the MXO settled back in the pilots seat and then turned to the co-pilot beside him who had been busy patching in their own sensors to nearby Federation listening posts, just in case one of them had anything that they might have missed. "Anything from the E-190?", asked Kowalski, referring now to the nearest listening post to their current location. (Reply Any) "I figured as much", said the MXO dryly, "ETHOS has capabilities far in excess of T'Vhor's report at the briefing, but then... I suspect he may have been being frugal with the facts there", he added. (Reply Any, IYW) (Posted by Alan) (Marine Trojan - Cockpit - Sergeant Amanda McMillan - 17:41) She took a deep breath in through her nose. The smell of the Trojan was bliss. She hated how the Spectre felt too comfortable. She much preferred to be on a Marine designed ship. She sat in her chair half straight and half slouched. Her legs extending as far as they could reach underneath the panel. She wore her hair back and in a pony tail with her standard Marine Away Team attire. She did all this and still somehow fit under all the guidelines that she must follow. "Anything from the E-190?", asked Kowalski, referring now to the nearest listening post to their current location. "Negative sir. All quiet," she said as she looked at Kowalski. "I figured as much", said the MXO dryly, "ETHOS has capabilities far in excess of T'Vhor's report at the briefing, but then... I suspect he may have been being frugal with the facts there", he added. Amanda didn't reply to the MXO. It seemed he was talking to just talk. She pretended to be interested in what he was saying as she read the latest reports from E-190. "The Marines were privy to a lot of the tech on it, considering the tactically advantageous properties it might yield to any military organization within the fleet... or indeed anybody elses fleet", said the MXO, just as a call came in from the Spectre. As the call came in the Sergeant had hoped it hadn't. She was now curious what type of tactically advantageous properties there actually were on ETHOS. The MXO went on to speak with the Captain. After he was done he seemed to want to talk some more. "Vulcan's, they take everything so literal, no sense of humour", he said before making another course change in accordance with their deviating flight path. "You may assist if you wish to Commander, I am sure that a familiar face might be precisely what is needed for Audrey right now", said the Captain, he himself now returning to the centre chair as logical as ever. After all, regardless of what had just occured the ship and over two hundred personnel were still his priority. (Reply Williams, Any) The Captain then addressed the SEC chief. "Lieutenant Commander Capps, I want all area's where Audrey has been thoroughly searched for evidence of further tampering, it is logical that the bridge was her final call, and that she may have carried out what she had come here to do", said the Captain. "See if you can pinpoint any fluctuation in the grid that might point to tampering Lieutentant, forwards it direct to Lieutenant Commander Capps if anything is noted", said the Captain. The engines continued their steady rhythm as the Spectre continued to hurdle towards the Sol System in pursuit of the ship that attacked them. Everything appeared to be in order, in fact, a few hours ago he had informed the bridge that they could increase speed to warp factor eight. The repairs continued to the port side of the ship in order to get the hull integrity up to norms. It had been a long day and the lieutenant's eye grew heavy looking at the various readouts at his workstation. Suddenly someone cleared their throat behind him, which made Adams's eyes snap open. "The report on section 56, deck 11 is ready, Sir," stated Ensign Marciano standing next to Adams holding out a PADD. "Very good," replied Adams in a monotone voice taking the report. "Take your team to deck 12 and..." Adams broke his sentence to yawn. "Sorry. Start your scans for any micro-fractures in the hull." Marciano nodded and headed out to meet up with his engineering crew. Adams stood up and stretched. It had been a long day. There had been no rest since the ship was attacked and crash landed to the bottom of the Vedean ocean. He walked over to a replicator and ordered a cup of coffee. He didn't really drink coffee, the after-taste didn't agree with him, but he needed the caffeine to help wake him up. He proceeded to walk around and watch the other crewmen who were hard at work. ~Acting Chief Engineer,~ he thought. ~I can't believe that the captain had made me Chief Engineer. I guess until we get back to Geneva and get a proper one back on board. I just wish the circumstances were a whole lot better.~ Adams walked back and looked at his workstation. ~I guess I'm going to have to start getting used to more 'commanding' and less 'doing'.~ A smile appeared on his face and he took one last gulp of his coffee and sat back down to look at the reports on the repairs. I'll try to have the port side done, and a little starboard to boot. Have a good night sir." "I will. I stand relieved. I will see you in twelve hours.' "Likewise." Aldlar watched as Adams left, then turned towards the warp core, looking up at it's pulsating glow. Somehow, the fact that it was almost 0100 made the work seem like something more worth looking forward to... Aldlar shook of the feeling to observe and make notes, walking over to his console and booting it up. "Alright, lets see how the old girls doing..." The most recent update on repairs appeared. Looking around, he could tell that the crash had done a number on his room. Books that were once on the shelves were on the floor along with a computer terminal turned up on it's side. Chris reached down and picked up the books and returned them to the bookshelf. The first book he picked up was his signed copy of Anslem. He ran his fingers down the spine to make sure it wasn't damaged. He came to a picture of his mother. He remembered recovering this picture from a heavily damaged Paladin on one of the last missions of the war to liberate Betazed. Sifting through the wreckage of his old quarters he found it among the rubble. His mother was now passed away, it happened during the time shift when the Spectre was transported five years into the future. While going through the records of the missing five years, he discovered her fate. Adams let out a big sigh and set the picture on his desk. "Computer," said Adams out loud. "Dim the lights and set a wake-up alarm for 10:00 hours." There was a few beeps from the computer and the lights dimmed. Adams slipped out of his uniform and slid under the covers of his bed.
