One four nine mark two four", Ordered Tsukawa. Jennifer nodded. “Aye Ma’am changing course to One four nine mark two four manoeuvring thrusters only.” She had been ready for the order as it had been the seventh course correction that the Tsukawa had ordered. Her fingers danced across the console as she powered up the manoeuvring thrusters applying just enough power to nudge the Spectre off their present course and onto the requested heading. She was about to inform Tsukawa that they were on the new heading when she spoke again. "Helm", "Course change. Come to course Two One Five, mark Ninety. Execute" “Aye Ma’am changing course to Two One Five, mark Ninety still using manoeuvring thrusters.” She began entering a new set of commands that would slide the Spectre into its new heading. She was secretly pleased to have some thing to do. She understood that they were in dangerous situation but she was a pilot and a fighter jock at that so she was use to dangerous situations. Flying the Spectre was a lot better then rotating in a parking orbit even if it was deep in Cardassian space. "What is the operational status of the main bridge" Robert looked up from his console as Tsukawa spoke to him. He glanced at the status report from the bridge before answering. “Yes Ma’am. The status of the bridge is now back to operational levels. We can get back to the bridge when ever you want.” "Helm, plot a course to take us to a standard holding pattern above Amleth at the nearest geosynchronous position to our away teams location" “Yes Ma’am. A standard holding pattern above Amleth. Putting is at the nearest geosynchronous position to our away teams location.” ~Here goes the parking orbit~ "Make it so Mr Smith Jennifer hid a smile as she concentrated at the console. There were five Smiths on board including her self there was Jo working in Security, Kenneth an officer in the Spectres marine detachments Robert behind her working at the OPS console and Scott working down in engineering. With that many Smiths it would easy to get confused. She watched as the instruments told her that the Spectre was now in the correct position. “Ma’am were are in orbit.” "Very good. Prepare to stand down all battle bridge operations and return to the main bridge", Robert nodded to him self and sent the activation codes to the bridge. He began to transfer the data on his console to the OPS station on the bridge he took a hard look at the data in front of him to make sure that he had not missed anything that would cause problems while he was moving to the bridge once he was satisfied he powered down the console and stepped back. He saw the other bridge crew get ready to leave the battle bridge he saw Jennifer get up from the CONN console and gave her a quick smile as he then headed for the turbolift. (Reply Any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Security Station Gamma - Security Officer, Lt (JG)Jo Smith - 19:29) "If you were trying to sabotage a ship, what department would you go in to, like make sure you were assigned in?" Jo paused for a moment running all the departments throught her mind before she answered. “Engeneering or Ops would be my guess.” She looked over at Dixon to see if he had any other ideas. (Reply Dixon) "See I have a thought, right, I don't know why it just hit me, but you would have to blend in right?" Jo nodded. “Yeh hiding in plan sight. That’s defiantly a classic.” (reply Dixon) "If you were a doctor, or a Science officer, wouldn't people look at you twice if you were at some console you weren't supposed to be at. Like if a nurse was trying to fix something right." Jo nodded again with a smile. “Yeh anything to out of the ordinary would arise suspicion.” (reply Dixon,) "Maybe I am just over thinking things, but, would it be too far fetched to say we can rule out flight, science, and medical staff. Probably the marine contingent too. It would be too obvious if a marine was snooping around." Her smile dropped as a thought came to mind “That’s true although Security is also an option.” (reply Dixon) "I mean, it's got to be someone in a yellow shirt, right, I mean not necessarily but there has to be a higher percentage that our suspect is more than likely in the ops or engineering department. Or maybe I have just played too many holonovels. If I want to eavesdrop at a party on a Spy program, what better than to be a waiter, no one gives you a second glance as you move through the party right. Same as someone in ops or engineering. No one thinks twice if they are tampering with stuff. It is their job." “The ships mainly designed to stop people getting in who has no access with being engineering or ops they would have access already so expanding where they can go would not be to hard if you were already in the system.” (Reply Dixon) "So I guess, run a search, Female, Lieutenant Commander, operations department or engineering. Empathic Abilities. Someone who may have come aboard the Spectre in the last 6 months." Jo opened her mouth and then froze. “Ow hell I know one. She’s in Ops Lieutenant Commander. Came on board at the last stop over. Ow I think she may be Bataziod or something if not she is defiantly some thing a bit wearied about her. Robert has been going in on about her since she arrived.” She screwed up her eye as she tried to pull the name from her memory. “Ow you know who I mean…” (Reply Dixon, Frost) Jo nodded. “Yeh that’s her….. What about her?” (Reply Dixon, Frost) (Reply Dixon, Frost, any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Security Station Gamma - Security Officer, Ensign (JG) Will Frost - 19:32) “Ow hell I know one. She’s in Ops Lieutenant Commander. Came on board at the last stop over. Ow I think she may be Bataziod or something if not she is defiantly some thing a bit wearied about her. Robert has been going in on about her since she arrived. Ow you know who I mean…” "Lieutenant Commander Kilya Joltrue." Jo nodded. “Yeh that’s her….. What about her?” Will looked at his teammates, stopped, thought for a brief moment. "She fits the description. Being a trill, if she is joined, which I am not sure, then she would have an empathic relationship with the symbiote that she is joined in. She would have easy access to different areas of the ship, and according to the duty roster has been on various different repair teams throughout this mission. Hell I've probably passed her a thousand times and not even thought twice. (Reply Dixon, Smith) "I'm not saying she is the saboteur, but I am not saying she is not, and at least this gives us a suspect. If it is not, I'll take the heat. But it merits investigating." (reply Dixon, Smith) "Ensign Dixon, I want you to wipe the memory banks of any indication we have been doing personnel searches. Just in case the Saboteur gets curious or is trying to cover their tracks." (Reply Dixon) "Lieutenant, it is probably best before we go after Commander Joltrue we contact Lieutenant Kerge and come up with a plan. We still have people on the planet, the last thing we need is the saboteur putting them at risk." (Reply Smith) Will then tapped his commbadge. "Frost to Lieutenant Kerge. Sir, that duty roster you wanted to look over is ready at security station gamma. Please report so we can implement the assignment." (reply Kerge) (Reply Dixon, Kerge, Smith) (Posted by Will B.) (Amleth - Amparus, Safehouse - Sub-Basement Den – CMO Noah - 19:34) "Doctor." Noah looked around to see Palmer walking over to him. "Perhaps this isn't the news you want to hear at the moment, but ensign grey and I had noticed a low level theta variance on the surface." Noah looked at Palmer and then at the people around him. ~Ow that’s not good~ “Theta Variance. How on Ornaran did Theta get here!” "point being, even though minor exposure is not incredibly harmful, we may want to check for minor side effects in the group." Noah nodded his mind spinning into top gear. “That is true. It’s a classed as a fast acting neurodegenerative disease It first affects a persons mental capacity to think and make decisions. We need to keep an eye out for slight changes in mental behaviour such as irrational anger or sadness. This will then lead to neuro-paralysis lousing control and movement of limbs starting with and feet and hands before moving inwards along then legs and arms towards the body and the more vital organs. We will need to have a full screening and testing when we get back to the onboard.” ~Its good that we are on the way~ He paused looking at Palmer “Cardassian’s have a immunity but even over time it will effect them. Even they cannot be that stupid and placing a settlement with Theta Variance in the area.” “Do you think it’s natural or is it from a by-product of something?” (Reply Palmer) (Reply Palmer, any) (Posted by Robbie) (Amleth - Amparus, Safehouse - Sub-Basement Den - CSO lt. jg. Kurt Palmer - 19:35) The doctor took a moment after going over the effects of the theta variance. “Cardassian’s have a immunity but even over time it will effect them." he continued " Even they cannot be that stupid and placing a settlement with Theta Variance in the area. Do you think it’s natural or is it from a by-product of something?” "We also picked up a lot of EM activity but we didn't have enough time earlier to study the origins..." Kurt paused to consult his tricorder and shook his head. "... And I'm not picking up anything down here." He snapped the device shut and frowned. "I'll be able to give you a more definitive answer once we get out if here." (Reply, Noah, any) ((Post by Cody)) (Amleth - Amparus, Safehouse - Sub-Basement Den – CMO, Noah - 19:37) "We also picked up a lot of EM activity but we didn't have enough time earlier to study the origins..." "... And I'm not picking up anything down here." "I'll be able to give you a more definitive answer once we get out if here." Noah nodded at what Palmer had said. “That’s a good idea….” He looked around the tunnel they were going along “…… I hope that we get out of here soon. If you see any problems get me or Caras okay.” (Reply Palmer) (Reply Palmer, any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Security Station Gamma - Security Officer – Lieutenant(JG) Jo Smith - 19:38) "I'm not saying she is the saboteur, but I am not saying she is not, and at least this gives us a suspect. She is the only one that fits everything.” "Ensign Dixon, I want you to wipe the memory banks of any indication we have been doing personnel searches. Just in case the Saboteur gets curious or is trying to cover their tracks." (Reply Dixon) "Lieutenant, it is probably best before we go after Commander Joltrue we contact Lieutenant Kerge and come up with a plan. We still have people on the planet, the last thing we need is the saboteur putting them at risk." Jo nodded. “We will have to be careful with how we handle this. The last thing that we need is to spook this Joltrue and give her a chance to escape or activate her failsafe plan.” She watched as Frost tapped his commbadge. "Frost to Lieutenant Kerge. Sir, that duty roster you wanted to look over is ready at security station gamma. Please report so we can implement the assignment." (reply Kerge) Jo nodded to herself. Any one as competent as this saboteur was would able to tract any communication calls about any mention anything about the sabotage. ~We got you now. Soon there with be no place to hide~ (Reply Dixon, Kerge, Frost) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Bridge - FO, Cmdr Hoshimi Tsukawa - 19:40) Hoshimi came onto the bridge with all the deliberation that could be dictated by one ready to attend to business. She seemed confident, despite the situations that had recently plagued the ship in regards the saboteur and the near skirmishes with the Cardassian vessels trying to find them in orbit of Amleth. Kerge's hunch had obviously paid off though, who would have thought it though? Their own weapons had actually been used against them and nobody had even suspected. Then again, who would have? Taking the command chair the FO immediately called for a report from the Tactical Officer who had already taken his station after coming up from the battle bridge. (Reply Harrison, Any) Hoshimi listened to the report intently, the ships seemed blind to them, for now anyway. What would happen when they decloaked to receive their away team however, was another matter entirely. Hoshimi put the thought out of her mind for the moment though and called for a report from engineering. "Bridge to Engineering" (Reply Dixon, any in Engineering) "What is the status of our warp drive?", she asked. (Reply Dixon, any in Engineering) Hoshimi nodded, her own armrest console confirming the operational status accordingly as the Engineer relayed it to her from the Engineering console itself. "Make sure that warp power remains ready and available at a moments notice Ensign. We may be leaving here in somewhat of a hurry and the last thing I want is a gremlin rearing it's ugly little head whilst we have a Galor bearing down on us", said Hoshimi, before turning then to the communications officer and giving the order to begin monitoring for the relevant frequency that had previously been agreed upon. It wasn't going to be that obvious of course and the communications officer was well aware of that, after all, did anyone actually ever use Morse anymore? (Reply Comms) "Stand by for further orders", said Hoshimi. "We are approaching end game. Now we wait", she stated, settling back into the command chair as she spoke... (Reply Harrison, Dixon, Any in Engineering, Any) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Bridge - TAC/SC Lt Kerge - 19:41) Kerge had just left the Captain's ready room having been in discussion with First Officer Tsukawa about the apparently classified information now contained on his PADD when his combadge had sounded. Heads had turned as the big Klingon walked towards turbolift One in readiness to return to the Security centre, but nevertheless, he answered the call, despite the probable sensitivity of the incoming message. =/\=Frost to Lieutenant Kerge. Sir, that duty roster you wanted to look over is ready at security station gamma. Please report so we can implement the assignment.=/\= "Very good Mr Frost", said Kerge entering into the turbolift now, his own inimitably gruff style not dropping for one second at the apparent lack of protocol being shown by his subbordinate. "I am heading to my office now, there is an... important matter that I must attend to so I would appreciate it if you would 'report' to me there withyour recommendations", he added, reminding the Ensign in that one word that it was he that should be reporting to him, rather than the other way around. (Reply Frost) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Security Station Gamma – Security Officer, Lieutenant (JG) Jo Smith - 19:44) "I am heading to my office now, there is an... important matter that I must attend to so I would appreciate it if you would 'report' to me there with your recommendations" Jo hid her mental smile at Kerge's reply before listening to Frost’s answer. As the comm channel closed she looked at Frost. “Why don’t you make the report to Lieutenant Kerge as it would be slightly suspicious if all three of us were to report to his office.” (Reply Frost) “And while you are at it me and Dixon will try and track her down for you.” (Reply Frost) She nodded and looked over at Dixon “Okay then lets try and find her but we need to make sure that we don’t tip her off first. Any suggestions?” (Reply Dixon) (Reply Frost, Dixon Any) (Posted by Robbie) (Amleth - Amparus, Safehouse - Escape tunnels - Acouns Dr. Riven Mias - 19:48) The journey to the transport had been full of dramatic moments, from finding more SFI waiting for them in the cavern to the torturous and circuituous route to the transport itself through darkened tunnels. But they had finally arrived. The transport itself was ovoid and looked much like an elongated stainless steel egg that was hovering due to magnetic fields above the rail. The tunnel at this point had widened back out, there were a few crates nearby and some boulders on the other side that had never been cleared from the tunnel. Lefferts strode forward and opened the dorr then turned back to the group. "Hurry up, everyone on the first trip jump in double time." He then pitched in to help people embark as all of the SFI agents except for one peeled off and moved back toward the tunnel to head off the trouble that was coming. And make no mistake that trouble was coming fast, Riven could feel their nearness now that time was seemingly speeding up and taking a turn against them. (Reply: Any) With the civvies in Lau, the doctor and a security officer followed them aboard as well as the agent who would run the transport. (Reply: Noah, any) As the transport began to move off Riven heard phasers begin to fire and he threw himself against Elani, throwing them both behind a stack of crates as disruptor beams sliced through the tunnel. One hit the skin of the rapidly departing transport and though it rocked slightly it did not score the exterior. "Keep down!" Riven's mouth was close to Elani's ear. "Do you have a weapon?" (Reply: Caras) "Damn!" Riven poked his head out just long enough to get an idea of where the rest of the LP had taken cover then ducked back. "We have no choice but to hide then although we can perhaps make ourselves useful." He grinned at her surprise. (Reply: Elani, any) (Posted by Charles) (Amleth - Amparus, Safehouse - Escape tunnels - CMO, Noah - 19:50) Noah stood by the door of the transport as people began to get in “Okay every body in.” He looked as Lau hurried past him as he looked at Mias and Caras. “Don’t wait to long. Will see you at the other side.” (Reply Mias, Caras) He gave a slight smile as he steeped back into the transport as the doors shut behind him. As the transport began to move he saw phaser fire begin flashing across the Escape tunnel. He saw Mias and threw him self at Caras as they dropped behind a stack of crates. He flinched back as a phaser shot hit the transport which rocked as it was hit but did not do any damage as the transport was swallowed into the tunnel and accelerated away. Noah turned back to the other people in the transport. “Is every one okay?” (Reply Lau, any) “Does any one know how long it will take to get to the other end?” (Reply Lau, any) (Reply Lau, any) (Posted by Robbie) (Amleth - Amparus, Safehouse - Escape tunnels - Scientist, Targin Lau - 19:51) "Hurry up, everyone on the first trip jump in double time.", said the security man, and all at once those that had been tasked with doing so climbed into the magneto train, it's main body sinking just slightly as each person did so, only to bounce back up as the magnetic assembly automatically increased it's flux field to compensate causing the scientist in Lau to visualise in his mind the laws of gravitic reaction. The vehicle then began moving off, the operator having operated the relevant controls to secure the door and begin transit, the train slowly picking up speed until it had reached it's maximum velocity of 40kph. All at once though, the travellers had become aware of a commotion in their wake as the security forces stationed at the safe house seemed to have gone into overdrive, weapons fire being heard somewhere up the corridor from whence they had recently came. Noah, as a designated first traveller, along with Lau himself settled unnervingly into his seat, and then he addressed everyone collectively. "Is everyone OK?", he asked. Lau shrugged his shoulders as others just nodded. "I'll be OK when we are as far away from this god forsaken rock as we can be Mr Noah", he said, "I'm done with this place, damned militaristic dictatorship hell bent on running around with their eyes closed to what is coming to them", he added, nodding his head then as he contemplated what that all meant. "Well, they will know soon enough" (Reply Any, IYW) The train continued on, Lau himself hoping that everyone back at the junction was still OK whilst feeling decidedly guilty that he had managed to procure one of the first rides out of there... (Reply Any) (Posted by Alan) (Amleth - Amparus, Safehouse – Transit Car - CMO, Noah - 19:57) "Well, they will know soon enough" Noah looked at Lau and nodded. “That is true.” He looked around at the people in the train, they all looked a bit shook up but other then that they looked fine. ~That’s a relief~ He looked light bouncing off the tunnel wall as they sped past. ~We really need to get to the other end fast and get this thing back before something really bad happens~ He felt a sudden deceleration as the transit car slowed. The car exited the tunnel into a small but brightly lit station. He saw another group of security guards standing on the platform as the doors opened and people began to move out. He turned to Lau “Time to go Mr Lau” (Reply Lau) He ushered Lau out of the car and onto the platform. He turned and looked at the disappearing transit car as it moved back towards the other station. “I hope we get everyone back okay.” (Reply Lau IYW) (Reply Lau, any) (Posted by Robbie) (Amleth - Amparus, Secondary Terminus – Scientist, Targin Lau - 19:59) Lau felt a wave of relief as the magneto train had begun to decellerate. In truth, he never really liked to be travelling any faster than his legs could carry him, and despite the advances of interplanetary travel over the past few centuries, Targin felt much more grounded standing on solid ground, preferably in a lab someplace, in front of something that he could categorise and verify with solid empirical data. Noah on the other hand seemed a natural, immediately standing he quickly ushered everyone out of the train, clearly eager to let the vehicle return to retrieve the rest of his team. "Time to go Mr Lau", he had said, and Lau stood, shook his shoulders and stepped off the train also. Noah was an odd fellow, that was for sure. ~What was his species again? Ornaran? Aren't they the species capable of 'shocking' behaviour?~ he contemplated. Lau scratched his head as then watched the efficient Noah arrange everyone, before gazing back down the dark, rocky tunnel from whence they had come. “I hope we get everyone back okay.”, he said. Lau placed a hand on Noah's shoulder and gripped it reassuringly. "I am sure that we will", said Lau, "Culligan is an efficient man, he's kept us safe this long anyway", he added. (Reply Noah, IYW) Lau moved away towards a convenient nearby rock that had been chisseled into a semblance of a bench, then he sat down. "So what now?", he asked. "If your ship is going to be beaming us away anytime soon, then perhaps now is the time to contact them", he stated, once again scratching his head as though in contemplation. "I take it your ship is cloaked?", he asked. (Reply Noah) "Then how will you get a message to them to let them know that we are ready?", asked Lau, pondering the ramifications of contacting a ship out of phase with the rest of the here and now... (Reply Noah, Any) (Posted by Alan) (Amleth - Amparus, Safehouse - transport - CSO lt. jg. Kurt Palmer - 20:00) The floor of the transport vibrated as it regained equilibrium and continued down the tunnel. Small rays of light ricocheted around the car and tunnel highlighting the uneasy group of refugees. Kurt, tricorder raised, was waiting for a better scan of the area as they sped forward. Then finally the train eased its way into a brightly lit station. Noah and Lau pushed ahead to make the next move. Kurt directed the group into the station platform with the help of a few security officers already waiting there. The science chief spotted a raised platform above the tracks. ~maybe a good spot....~ When there was a lull in activity he turned to his colleagues. "I'm going to see if i can get some better scans..." He trailed off gesturing to the platform (Reply, any iyw) After some climbing he lifted himself up onto the concrete perch. He caught his breath and tapped a few buttons on his tricorder. ~finally, some decent information~ As Ensign Grey had noticed before there was a high concentration of EM activity, and it was close by. Kurt pried further with his scans. Somehow the theta variance was showing up as a byproduct of some ill maintained equipment. He puzzled for a moment and scratched his head. Then looked up at the station ceiling as if he would miraculously find an answer in the lighting fixtures. (Reply, any) ((Post by Cody)) (Amleth - Amparus, Secondary Terminus – CMO, Noah - 20:03) "I am sure that we will", said Lau, "Culligan is an efficient man, he's kept us safe this long anyway" Noah nodded. “Hope so.” He muttered "So what now?", "If your ship is going to be beaming us away anytime soon, then perhaps now is the time to contact them "I take it your ship is cloaked?" Noah nodded. “Yeh she is other wise we would not have gotten this close to the planet with out being seen.” "Then how will you get a message to them to let them know that we are ready?", Noah held up his hand, a smile crossed his face as he let the electrical charge jump and crackle across his fingers. “Don’t worry we will get you and every one else back to the ship.” (Reply Lau IYW) He looked up as the transit car arrived again and began to spill out its passengers on the to the terminal plat form. ~Time to get started~ “Stay here with the others. I will be back shortly.” He looked at one of the security team. “Excuse me which way to the roof?” The officer pointed to a set of stairs. “Thanks.” (Reply Any) (Posted by Robbie) (Amleth - Amparus, Terminal building roof – CMO, Noah - 20:08) He then headed for the stairs. Noah ran up the flights of stairs as fast as he could realising that he really should do some more fitness when he got back to the Spectre. As he reached the roof door, he paused to catch his breath before he carefully opened the door and stepped onto the roof. Noah carefully looked around on the empty roof to make sure no one else was up there before he walked over to the satellite dish that was bolted to the roof. He took a deep breath steadied his racing pulse and placed his hand on the dish. He needed a direct line of sight to the sky as the building would block the signal. ~I so hope I get this right~ He felt the charge building up in his body as he focused his mind on remembering the right amounts of dots and dashed of the Morse code message he had been taught. ~If I get this wrong I might be sending them dimensions of play mate of the month~ He felt the surges of electricity run down his arm, across his hand and into the dish. ~Please be listening~ Increased the speed of the surges to get the message out as quick as he could partly to reduce the change of the Cardassians picking up the signal but also it hurt every time the surges left his fingers and connected to the metal of the dish. ~Ow the Spectre really better be hearing this as I’m so not wanting to do this again~ (Reply Lau, any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Bridge - Communications Officer, Ensign Brad DeWitt and FO, Cmdr Hoshimi Tsukawa - 20:10) DeWitt paused for a second or two as his ears picked up the first of the clicks. Was it random interference, or was it the signal they were looking for? Long pauses, rapid clicks and pauses could still just be static coming from the troposphere of the Moon of course, so it was imperative that the Comms Officer got this right. Three short, a pause and then One short followed by Two long and another short. DeWitt was sure that that was SP, but the rest of the transmission had been garbled or lost completely. SP? what the hell was SP? Shortened and garbled as it was though, it just had to be Noah, or at least DeWitt hoped so. Then the clicks began repeating. Uniform, definately not static. SP followed by One short, then a pause, then One long, One short, One long and One short. 'SPEC' Dewitt's heart began racing. It was the signal that they were waiting for and all at once he alerted the First Officer. "Sir", he said, interrupting Tsukawa in mid conversation with the Tactical Officer, but remembering that she had indeed requested that she be alerted the moment that the Comms Officer had picked anything up. "Sir, I believe that Dr Noah is transmitting the agreed signal", he added, the T, R and E already ringing in his earpiece as he finalised his interrupt accordingly, all doubt as to the authenticity of the message then leaving his thoughts completely. Hoshimi responded immediately of course, a nod in the Comms Officers direction before she turned to the Tactical Officer accordingly for an update on the position of Cardassian vessel. "Ensign, where is that fly in our ointment right now?", she asked, referring of course to the One Cardassian vessel that was still in orbit, the others having left soon after they had lost their little marker buoy! (Reply Harrison) "Very good. Keep an eye on it and prepare a firing solution targetting their engines and weapons only. Hold until further notice", said Tsukawa as she began reeling off orders to everyone else on the bridge before moving on to the relevant departments that would be tasked in the operation that would soon follow. "Helm, maintain our position and be prepared to go to warp on my mark". (Reply Helm, IYW) "Bridge to Engineering" (Reply Dixon, Any in Engineering) "We will be leaving orbit very shortly Ensign, make sure that the taps are wide open and that nothing stops that flow", said the FO. (Reply Dixon, Engineering) Hoshimi then opened a channel to transporter room Two. (Reply Transporter Chief) "Do we have a target lock on any of our away team?", she asked. (Reply Transporter Chief) An 'off-phase' partial lock had been anticipated of course, the nature of their phase cloaked status predicted that outcome after all. What 'was' a surprise though was that the number of target locks had exceeded what they were expecting. They had anticipated that the away team might be bringing along some others along, but Twenty Five others had not exactly been factored into this equation! Hoshimi pondered that briefly, and then addressed the Comms Officer. "Ask Dr Noah to confirm the compliment of his party and to stand by" DeWitt then got started, hoping that his Morse was still up to scratch, whilst Hoshimi returned her attention to the waiting transporter chief. "Once we have a reliable lock on our people, and any others as confirmed by Dr Noah, then prepare to beam them all to cargo bay Two on my orders", said the FO, before then addressing the Communications Officer once again. "Do we have anything back yet Ensign?", asked Hoshimi. "Sir, Dr Noah confirms his groups compliment at approximately Twenty Five and is standing by", said DeWitt. "Very well. Transmit this response. Gather your party into one location. Beamout in Ten minutes.", she ordered. DeWitt nodded to the accompaniment of an 'Aye Sir', and then set about the task assigned him. Hoshimi then proceeded to open a shipwide channel. "This is the First Officer. All departments report operational status and prepare for hostile incursion", she said. The reports then began arriving one by one, Hoshimi settling back once again into the chair, her fingers tapping impatiently upon the armrest console as the adrenalin began to course through her body. "Prepare to lower the cloak on my mark", she added. And then they waited... "Very good. Keep an eye on it and prepare a firing solution targetting their engines and weapons only. Hold until further notice", said Tsukawa ~This could turn very ugly very quickly~ She felt Tsukawa rather then saw move up behind her "Helm, maintain our position and be prepared to go to warp on my mark". Jennifer looked up at her. “Yes Ma’am.” Tsukawa then turned to contact another department. "Bridge to Engineering" Jennifer looked back at her console. With quick practiced commands she had an escape vector plotted and a course that would take them to warp. As she finished entering the commands and double checked it she glanced over at the OPS console where Robert was standing. She caught his eye and gave him a quick smile which he returned before turning back. (Reply Any) (Posted by Robbie) (Amleth – Secondary Terminus, CO, Captain T'Vhor - 20:16) The mellee back in the freight area beforehand had not been without it's tension, Cardassian foot soldiers having appeared in the main corridor as the rest of the away team and civilians boarded the recently returned magneto train. T'Vhor had taken a security officer and some of the remaining SFI officers into the corridor, each having established defensive positions in the alcoves thereof which had resulted in exchanges of weapons fire throughout it's length. There had been casualties of course, thankfully more so the Cardassian side than the defensive team. Nevertheless, one SFI man had been incapacitated and another had been wounded. It was no unwelcome announcement that the train had duly returned. Making a tactical retreat into the freight area, the Captain had been one of the last to leave the corridor, the rest of those assembled having already boarded the train in readiness, whilst T'Vhor himself, along with the remaining SFI men made their escape. By thetime they had boarded though, Cardassian soldiers were already entering the area and yet more exchanges of Federation and Cardassian firepower had ensued. By now of course, the Captain himself had been injured, a phase disrupter burn now being evident on his left forearm as he gave the order for the train to leave. It did so in an instance of course, the darkened tunnel lighting up to the following disruptor fire as the Cardassians made their way into the tunnel proper. The journey took minutes, the train picking up speed exponentially as the operator pushed it to it's limits, overiding the safety protocols as he did so in his eagerness to clear the first bend and give the train some cover from the pursuing force. By the the time they had arrived, Timon, one of the SFI men had become unconscious and those that were able bodied had carried him into the secondary terminus as Doctor Noah arrived. In his eagerness to report however, Noah had not realised the extent of the mans injuries and had proceeded to report the latest developments to the Captain. “Captain. I have made contact with the ship. She’s ready for us. We have about five minutes left before they are in position.”, he said. The Captain nodded accordingly and then motioned to the injured SFI man on the floor. "Very good Doctor", he answered. "In the meantime, do what you can for Timon here" T'Vhor then turned to Culligan, who's eyes never left the tunnel from whence they had arrived. "Mr Culligan", he asked. "Clearly, you do not want to be here when those forces arrive. You are more than welcome to beam aboard with us if you wish to, but under the circumstances I cannot assure your safety or reassure you that you will in fact arrive on the ship.", he added. (Reply Culligan) "Our ship must drop it's phase cloak before it can beam us aboard", said the Captain, "she will be vulnerable for the duration she is uncloaked and the transporter systems might conceivibly become disrupted. This might affect cohesion of our patterns once we are in transit", he added. He needs help fast~ He looked up and T’Vhor. “Captain we need to get him to sickbay urgently.” ~Not me and a tiny medical kit~ (Reply T’Vhor) He glanced at his chronometer. ~ A few more minutes. He does not have a few more seconds~ “I’ll have to stabilize him here before we move him to Sickbay.” (Reply T’Vhor) He began setting the equipment out beside him and he looked over at Caras and Mias. ~They may be counselors and not surgeons but you work with what you have, not what you wish for~ “Dr Caras, Dr Mias I need your help over here.” (Reply Caras, Mias) He picked up his tricorder and a hypospray. “I need one of you to inject him with this and tell me his vital signs. He has internal bleeding and which is pooling into his abdominal cavity if we don’t get it sutured quick he won’t make it to the ship.” (Reply Caras or Mias IYW) He winced as he fired his phaser on a low setting to sterilize his hands and then over the operation site. He then picked up a laser scalpel and a micro-suture applicator. He glanced up at them quickly. “Okay this is going to be brutal and nasty. We can repair any of the damage when we get to the sickbay. Okay…..” He hovered near over the sterile area. “Okay I am going to make an incision now I need you to grab the edges of the wound and hold them open for me as I go in okay.” (Reply Caras or Mias IYW) Noah gave them a reassuring smile. “Okay starting.” He activated the laser scalpel and started his incision. (Reply Caras, Mias, T’Vhor, any) (Posted by Robbie) (Amleth – Secondary Terminus, SFI Agent Culligan and ACouns Dr. Riven Mias - 20:18) Culligan was keeping Leffert's attention as he was being tended, the younger man was made of tough stuff but the pain he was in was written all over his face. Blood soaked his trousers where the disruptor blast had gone through his thigh. Culligan himself has a few nicks around his face where flying debris had ripped the skin and thin streams of blood trickled down his face but the injuries were superficial. "Mr Culligan", he asked. "Clearly, you do not want to be here when those forces arrive. You are more than welcome to beam aboard with us if you wish to, but under the circumstances I cannot assure your safety or reassure you that you will in fact arrive on the ship.", he added. The agent looked up at the StarFleet Captain. "Thank you Captain, your offer is generous and I accept on behalf of myself and my men. How long before we beam aboard and what difficulties do you forsee?" "Our ship must drop it's phase cloak before it can beam us aboard", said T'Vhor "she will be vulnerable for the duration she is uncloaked and the transporter systems might conceivibly become disrupted. This might affect cohesion of our patterns once we are in transit", "Understood." The agent looked around at his remaining force, it would be best to take what chance was offered rather than wait on the returning shuttle. The fight with the Cardassians had been with but a small part of the force they would no doubt be deploying soon and there would be no holding out against such an offensive. "It's all part of the luck of the draw." "Jankers!" The junior agent who turned at his call nodded. "Sir" "Blow the entrance to the tunnel, bring it down now before the Cardy's can regroup. Tennison and Delaney with him" "Yes sir." The men snapped to attention and made their way toward the tunnel entrance where they took up firing positions and began blasting the rock surrounding the entry, it wasn't long before rumbling began and loose rock began churning down to bar the way. Culligan then turned to T'Vhor. "This should buy us enough time, they can't burn their way through without chancing bringing the whole tunnel down around their heads." He noticed Dr. Mias pulling a woman from behind a crate. "Are you all right doctor?" "Yes, yes quite I assure you as is Elani." Riven grinned. "Discretion is the better part of valor when you don't have a weapon. I'm glad to hear we will soon be gone from this place, to tell you the truth the planet has been getting on my nerves a bit as of late." (Reply: Any) (Posted by Charles) (Amleth - Secondary Terminus - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 20:19) The situation with Timon was not looking at all good, and with the tunnel entrance now barricaded with fallen rubble courtesy of Culligan and his men, the Captain could only hope that the Spectre would be ontime with it's assurances. By now of course, Noah was doing the best he could with what limited resources he had, and with Caras and Mias now acting as makeshift surgical attendants, Timon's life was quite literally in their hands! Briefly, the Captain turned his attention to the area of the tunnel as Noah began to operate, a lot of dust still hung in the air due to the recent blasts and the SFI men were returning to the assemblage as adviced. It was imperative of course that they all stick together now, T'Vhor knew that Tsukawa in orbit of Amleth had her work cut out for her now, and he knew also that split timing would be of the essense. Moving towards the civilian gathering though, the Captain outlined what was about to happen, although tactfully ommiting the mention of the possibility of pattern degradation during beamout in order not to increase their tension and worry any more than he had to. "We will need to remain together", he had advised, "it is far easier for my ship to aquire a positive lock on us all in one go if we stay in one place" Clearly the people were still worried though, and the sound of new detonations occuring somewhere down the tunnel and beyond the fallen rubble didn't help at all. Obviously the Cardassians were now attempting to clear the blockage with their own no doubt carefully laid charges before retreating to a safe distance and then setting them off. That first explosion had caused some of the civilians to huddle together, their heads bowed as they contemplated freedom away from this hell hole. "Remain calm, and resist the temptation to leave the group", said the Captain, resting his hand upon the shoulder of a young child who had begun crying as he clung to his father. Then he returned his attention to Noah as he began wondering then just how things were going in regards Timon. It was time... Turning to the Tactical Officer, she requested another update on the Cardassian vessel, and then asked him to confirm the earlier mentioned firing solution on the Galor class ship in order to maximise their chances of pulling their plan off. (Reply Harrison) It was reassuring that the reply had been a positive one, and with the Galor class vessel being no match for the speed of the Federation ship should they fail to incapacitate their warp drive, at least they had the advantage of being able to get the hell out of there and put as much distance as they could between Amleth and themselves before too much damage could be done. The FO then addressed everyone at once. "OK, let's do this", she said. "We have only one shot to make this work. Split second timing and we'll likely be heading on out of here with the seat of our pants on fire", she added. "All stations report on operational readiness" (Reply Helm, Tactical, Ops, Engineering, Any) With the reports now coming in as ready and able, the FO then ordered the Helmsman to prepare to engage warp six on her mark, then she opened a channel to the transporter chief once again. Once you have a lock on all of our people and the civilians, beam them directly to Cargo bay Two as arranged", said Hoshimi. "Try not to leave anyone behind", she quipped, a moment of humour entering into the situation, but in reality, nothing could be further from the truth. (Reply Transporter Chief) The FO then settled back into the command chair and gently gripped at the arm rests before addressing Harrison once again. Counseling was his vocation and passion, not working on the broken bodies of individuals. Still he stepped into a complimentary role as Elani took on a more definitive role in the process. (Reply: Elani) While the two did an emergency procedure he monitored the officers vital signs. “Keep checking his blood pressure. If it drop below 60 systolic give him an dose of the hypospray. If it goes below that give him the whole lot and don’t worry about over taxing his heart as by that point we will try anything.” Elani handed him a hypo, now this he was very familiar with! "If he goes lower than 60 systolic, right doctor." The man's vitals were dropping rapidly as he watched the medical tricorder, from 110 over 73 to 95 over 68 in a matter of a half minute. As the blood pressure continued to decline he found he was clutching the hypo a bit harder than was necessary. “I bet they didn’t teach you this in counselling course.” "Not on your life." The Betazoid said humorlessly. " 88 over 63 doctor." he intoned quietly as Noah opened the incision. (Reply: Elani) "68 over 59" He snapped as he placed the hypo above the man's jugular vein and compressed it, there was a hiss as the vial emptied. He waited silently as it dipped a bit then began to climb slowly. " 75 over 62." he continued to call out the vital signs as they strengthened until the doctor looked up. “Thanks both of you. You can both relax now we’ve stopped the bleeding.” Riven sighed and wiped his forehead with his right hand as the reading continued to climb. "Thank the goddess." As Noah began talking to the Captain he walked to Lefferts and began to apply pressure to the man's thigh to slow the bleeding. "Sorry but we need to get the bleeding stopped. He turned his head. He could tell by the look on the faces of several of the engineering crew that they were nervous at his 'pacing' as though it were a recrimination on their abilities which it was not. What came through his comlink though immediately shocked him into wakefulness. =^= All stations report on operational readiness. =^= This sounded serious because of the crisp nature of the FO's voice.. He bounded over to the master console and displaced the tech manning it which nearly caused his half full cup to slosh its contents onto the deck. He then handed the cup to the tech after gesturring to him impatiently. "Get rid of this." Power demands were bound to begin multiplying soon so he brought up the grid readouts and warp drive engine diagnostics before tapping his combadge. "Engineering reporting, All systems are green, warp engines on hot standby, weapons systems ready and power grid at 83 percent." His right index finger on a touch sensitive display began bringing the main generator bar up incrimentally. "Full power available in two mintes. Warp drive available on command." He then tapped his combadge again and growled. "Renfro evacuate the jeffries tubes now!" =^= Evacuating.=^= No question or comment as the man grabbed a railing and began sliding hell bent down to the next level so he could charge the next 100 feet to the exit. Sure enough the transporters began powering up shortly before the phaser arrays went 'Hot". The power grid fluctuated as the cloak was dropped which decreased power demand 32 percent followed by phaser fire which nearly maxed out the impulse engines power generation. With the cloak now gone he brought the warp drive engines online and the rising hum of power filled the chamber. Engineering personnel were calling out readings and scurrying to stations as the ship now awoke and pulsed with life which mirrored his own rising awareness. All thoughts of hiding and stealth were set aside for the moment as adrenalin shot through him at the rising thrill and nervousness of battle deep within Cardassian space. The cloak power down was without incident and readings showed green for a re-engagement. The warp drive engines quickly topped 25 percent, plenty for what they were going through now as the power draw had dropped to fifty eight percent due to the surge of power to the ship. Should the Spectre go to warp the engines would become fully powered within seconds. He tapped the combadge again. "OPS you have warp capability." (Reply: OPS iyw) Again the combadge. "Jensen get ready to power down the impulse engines when the ship goes to warp." =^= I'm on it sir. =^= Everything was as ready as he could make it, now to watch closely for problems and be ready to route damage control teams. Your window will be short. Once you have a lock on all of our people and the civilians, beam them directly to Cargo bay Two as arranged" "Try not to leave anyone behind", A smile danced across Roberts face at Tsukawa humour as he brought up power reserves. The last thing that he needed was a power failure during transport which could degrade the pattern so badly that they could lose every one that they were beaming up. "Mr Harrison, prepare to execute your firing solution on the Galor class vessel, and lower the cloak in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... EXECUTE" Robert went to work. He channelled power to tactical to be used by Harrison. He pulled power to make sure that there was more then enough for the transporter chief in transporter room 2. Why couldn't it have waited a few minutes until they had gotten back to the ship? They were going to be getting back to the ship soon, weren't they? She certainly hoped so, being stuck on this planet had definitely cured her of whatever strange desire that had made her want to volunteer for this away mission. She had been given a strong intuition that she was needed here, and while the dancing with Riven in the bar was certainly fun, the prosthesis itched madly, and she was sure that the tinting given her skin to make her look like a cardassian wasn't going to be coming out. While one part of her brain worried about inconsequential things, like clothing that didn't make her skin itch and food that came out of a replicator, the rest of her brain was on assisting Riven and Noah. ~I can hear Admiral McCoy now, 'What kind of barbaric place is this!' just like when he presented that lecture at the Academy before he died on the life and times of a Starfleet Doctor. I wonder if Noah attended that lecture or something similar.~ She groused to herself as she assisted, blushing lightly everytime her hand brushed Rivens, or when she looked into his eyes and saw the empathy and humor that characterized him. "Did they teach us this in counselling school?" She echoed Noah's question. "Unlike Doctor Mias, they did indeed teach me emergency medicine as well as a practical in battlefield medicine with the marines. Of course the practical was on a holodeck..." She nervously rambled on, passing Noah the tools needed to work on the repair. She was glad when Noah said that they could relax. Ellie leaned against the wall for a moment, praying any second now that the ship would come save them and she could put this mess behind her. So when Riven called her over, she moved to him and did her best to swallow the grumpiness that meant that she was going to be stuck on this planet for longer. And as she knelt down beside him she glanced towards him out of the corner of her eye. :: I'm sorry for being uncharitable. This place scares me. :: She replied back to him, frowning lightly. :: I'm not sure what possessed me to sweet-talk the Captain into letting me come. I feel like I've been a liability the entire way.:: Her lips quirked into a smile as she ran her tricorder over the wound and read the data out loud, "It should heal up easily once we get back onto the ship, there won't even be a scar." She smiled and took out the dermal regenerator from her first aid satchell and activated the tool. "Until then," She smiled, "We can at least stop the bleeding." Elani ran the tool over the wound three times, each pass healing it a little bit more. After the bleeding was stopped, Ellie took out a bandage that would, as it healed, be incorporated into the skin. She forgot what they called it, but it was the same shade as skin. Once she had sealed the bandage over the wound and made sure that the seal was airtight she bowed her head slightly over the reading, "Your blood pressure and heart rate are elevated as well. I can give you medication to help with that, but it will leave you drowsy and I am not sure if that is the right choice considering that we are still in enemy territory. Ellie looked back over to Riven and but her bottom lip and shook her head, ::Yeah I think we are all going to need some counselling when we get back to the ship, Priest.:: As a Betazoid, Ellie knew exactly what Riven was and she had a great deal of respect for him. She also realized that she had a slight crush on him and that amused her a bit.
