Kurt Palmer – 16:32) "I hope you are able to find what you need?” The doctor chimed in as Kurt tapped away at the console. "So far so good." The science chief looked up. "Any thoughts on how we can go about removing year parasites yet?" (Reply, Williams) ((Post by Cody)) (USS Spectre – Science Lab 1 – CMO, Andrew Williams – 16:35) "Any thoughts on how we can go about removing year parasites yet?" Andrew paused as he scanned the information in front of him. “The easy part is actually removing it. That’s complex surgery bit doable without too much risk. It’s removing it without killing the host which is the hard bit.” He paused again. “My thought is that some kind of neurological or nerve inhibitor could be used on the parasite to make it release from the host. My worry is that the parasite may go into spasm and damage or kill the host before I can remove it. “I will need some more time to get a cohesive idea.” (Reply Palmer) “You got any suggestions that I have not looked at?” (Reply Palmer) (Reply Palmer, any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre – Conference Room – CSO/2O Lt.jg. Kurt Palmer – 17:05) They entered the conference room to find nothing had started yet. A handful of the usual suspects (department heads) and a few unfamiliar faces were scattered around the table. Kurt took his usual seat a few chairs past center, and placed his collection of PADDs in front of him Finally, a woman wearing the rank insignia of Captain spoke up "Doctor, if the FO or your CO isn't going to join us, perhaps we can get started?" Her demeanor was blunt and dry. ~yeesh~ Kurt gritted his teeth and looked down. (Reply, any) ((Post by Cody)) ================================================================= Mission: Stone Skipping Day: 10 Stardate: 2414.11.10 (USS Spectre - Arboretum -Science Officer- Ensign Will Alexander - 16:47) Will arrived at the Spectre's arboretum to help with science officer with whatever problem was needed. He had been requested by name, so obviously he was curious. He hadn't met Lt. Riya personally, and that was by design. In order to ease the transition into the new body, he had checked up on Frost's personal logs and he and the lieutenant were becoming very close. Obviously he wanted to distance himself from her, give her time to grieve if she needed to. It appeared she was doing the same thing, since she had maybe said one word to him since well, he became himself. Given all that information, he was intrigued why she would request him by name. But she needed an OPS officer, he was available, and even if he had been stuck as a transporter brain pattern duplicate since 2406, he was pretty good at what he did, and he was a quick study. Walking towards the lieutenant he could see why Frost was interested in her, she was attractive for sure. Though Will wasn't quite sure how he felt about the concept of dating a Betazoid, something about telpaths and empaths as a romantic partner made him a little, cautious. It also had something to with Will being more interested romantically in Bajorans or even Orions. An attraction he still shared with the original Will, whom he had found out actually dated a Bajoran science officer at one point and an Orion morale officer at another. Each relationship ending with the career coming first. Will hoped that it wouldn't be an awkward meeting. He even had a little bit of beard growth coming in as an attempt to make himself look different than Will Frost. Hoping the beard would eventually set him apart. "Lieutenant, I am here as requested." He said as formally as he possibly could. ~Great you are already making it awkward.~ (reply Riya) "So what can I do to help?" Will hoped to be all business so as to distract from who he was, or who he wasn't (reply Riya) Yet, even if he tried not to make it awkward, Will was still Will, the good ole polite guy he always was, and he couldn't help but adding "I'm uh, sorry for your loss." (Reply Riya) (reply Riya) (posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre - Conference Room - FO/CEO, Lt Remae Ktell and CO (USS Wraith) Captain Jana Bell - 17:45) By the time Remae had finished with the Counsellor, he ended up arriving quite late to the meeting. By now, the preliminaries were all over, their arrivals had been checked, given the situation by Doctor Mias and now Remae wanted a few answers about why they had tracked them down... he would have to leave his feelings for Jana at the door. "Sorry for being late.", he said walking into the conference room. Jana was seated between other officers, some from the Wraith, some from the Serenity. Was Jana looking at him? He wasn't going to look to find out. "Doctor, how far have you got?", he said looking at the officer, anywhere by at Jana... anywhere else but towards here. (Reply from Mias) "I see.", he said and then he was looking at her... ~ So much for the plan to not look at her ~ ~ Why is that person looking at me? ~ Jana was going to look back at the officer, whoever he was, I mean, why was he starting at her? Did she know him? No, she would look away. That'll teach him. Someone passed over a PADD to Remae, it was someone from the Serenity. It listed detailed orders to track down and speak to the officers of the Spectre. They had been placed under suspicion of being infected with parasite... the orders were signed by a Captain Akess, on behalf of Admiral Jopek. Remae spun back the PADD which had orders for the Spectre to investigate the parasite and make her way to Starbase 39-Sierra. He waited for a moment, "We were diverted to Starbase 863 by Admiral Sevant but we managed to regain control of the ship. The Admiral is still on the ship, somewhere.", he said waiting again. "We are a clean ship and these orders contradict one another, Admiral Jopek sent us out, then Admiral Jopek sent another ship to stop us. Captain Bell, may I see you orders please?", he as looked once again in her direction. Automatically, she accessed the same PADD and her orders appeared. Admiral Jopek had sent the Wraith to keep an eye on the Spectre once Sevant's message went out, warning all that the Spectre was infected. "So, we're all not infected, you aren't infected, noone is infected and we have 3 sets of orders from Jopek -- fine. Bridge, this is the FO, get Admiral Jopek on the line, now.", he said, none too pleased... noone was going to question the fact that he was breaking radio silence but everyone in the area would know that the Spectre was broadcasting, although security protocols should protect the message... hopefully. Remae looked back at Jana, she was not looking at him... what the hell was going on here? This time, he wasn't going to let her leave his eyes until he had the answers he needed. (Reply from ALL in the conference room) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Spectre - Conference Room - FO/CEO, Lt Remae Ktell and Admiral Jopek - 18:00) The call was going through, slowly... OPS were having a devil of a time getting it to connect, but in the end, a security channel was used that was reserved for the upper levels of command. =^= So... what part of radio silence do you not understand? =^= Remae looked at the screen in the conference room... the Vulcan almost sounded like he was being sarcastic. It did run true to what he knew of the man. "Sorry, Admiral -- but as you can see, this situation is now, officially, crazy.", said Remae and he continued explaining the double orders, the Wraith, the Serenity, Sevant and now, deaths on the Spectre. =^= I did write the orders for the Wraith, it seemed logical given the message from Admiral Sevant but the Serenity... Commander Jay, those orders were not written by me. I never ordered the Serenity to go after the Spectre. I will have a conversation with Captain Akess and find out who had that idea. =^= The Admiral looked down at the assembled group and Remae knew enough to keep quiet, he had more to say. =^= You should also be aware that Admiral Sevant is no longer onboard the Spectre. =^= The Bajoran was getting more than a little angry again, dealing with the brass did this to him. =^= We received a message from Starbase 863, he is back there and it looks like he arranged his own transportation. =^= Did that mean he would come back and finish the job? Who knew? =^= Starfleet Intel has reports that the Tempest is in your area right now. By contacting us, you've painted an arrow directly at your position. Time is even more of the essence. =^= Quickly, the Admiral handed out new orders for all assembled, the Wraith and Spectre would cloak, resume a heading to Starbase 39-Sierra together and the Serenity would feint in another direction, attempt to capture the attention of the Tempest, if she was around and join up again with the Spectre and the Wraith further down the line. The channel closed and it took a moment for everyone to assimilate the information. "You heard the Admiral, I'll brief Captain T'Vhor... does anyone have any questions?", he asked... but he was ready... ready to grab Jana, she wasn't going to leave the conference room, not this time. "Captain Bell, I need to see you alone after everyone else has left.", he said with as much grace and confidence as he could muster. (Reply from ALL in the conference room) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Spectre - Conference Room – CO (USS Serenity) - Commander Jay - 18:05) =^= I did write the orders for the Wraith, it seemed logical given the message from Admiral Sevant but the Serenity... Commander Jay, those orders were not written by me. I never ordered the Serenity to go after the Spectre. I will have a conversation with Captain Akess and find out who had that idea. =^= Jay kept her face professional as she felt the anger rise up inside her. She noticed that Snow tensed at the assumption that Akess was lying. Jay placed a hand on Snow’s arm which seemed to calm her. =^= You should also be aware that Admiral Sevant is no longer on board the Spectre. =^= ~Hmm well this is going to be complicated~ =^= We received a message from Starbase 863, he is back there and it looks like he arranged his own transportation. =^= =^= Starfleet Intel has reports that the Tempest is in your area right now. By contacting us, you've painted an arrow directly at your position. Time is even more of the essence. =^= ~Which would not have been an issue if you had sorted yourself out~ She waited and listened as the Admiral handed out new orders for all assembled, the Wraith and Spectre would cloak, resume a heading to Starbase 39-Sierra together which made sense as they were tactical ships. He wanted the Serenity would feint in another direction, attempt to capture the attention of the Tempest to lead them away and join up again with the Spectre and the Wraith further down the line. She gave a soft sigh and nodded. ~Great decoy.~ "You heard the Admiral, I'll brief Captain T'Vhor... does anyone have any questions?" Jay shook her head as the meeting finished. "Captain Bell, I need to see you alone after everyone else has left." As she got up she glanced over at Snow. “Give me a minute Anya.” Snow nodded and headed for the door. Jay moved over to Ktell. “Ktell. I don’t know what the Admiral was talking about but the Captain would not have sent us chasing you around the sector without getting the Admiral’s go ahead.” She paused as she pushed away her anger showing her professional exterior. “I know that the Spectre and the Wrath are capable ships but don’t forget us on the Serenity. We are here to help.” She said softly and gave a slight smile. (Reply Ktell) (Reply Ktell, any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Conference Room - FO/CEO, Lt Remae Ktell and Captain (USS Wraith) Jana Bell - 18:10) “Ktell. I don’t know what the Admiral was talking about but the Captain would not have sent us chasing you around the sector without getting the Admiral’s go ahead.”, said Commander Jay as everyone exited the conference room after the Admiral has signed off. The First Officer shook his head, "Admiral's play games, Commander -- trust me, I have firsthand experience.", he said extended his hand to the First Officer. “I know that the Spectre and the Wrath are capable ships but don’t forget us on the Serenity. We are here to help.”, she added and the Bajoran looked at the Commander one more time, "Be there when we need you. I have a feeling we will. Good luck, stay safe." With that, Jay cleared the room leaving just Remae and Jana alone first the first time in years, for the first time in this universe. "What is it Lieutenant?", asked the Captain, now looking directly at Remae. The Bajoran looked down and then looked strangely at Jana for a moment, "Jana, do you not recognise me?" She looked again more closely and it seemed for a moment something flickered across her face but then disappeared and was replaced by confusion once again. Remae sat down opposite Jana and looked at her again, "Computer, access personal records of Remae Ktell, access code Alpha Three Five Nine.", he said and appearing on the main screen of the conference room was his image. It scrolled down and down more until it reached his personal information. Jana read and went quiet for a moment... she was reading parts of Remae's personal database. "This is a joke? Surely?", she said standing, getting angry and the warning signs were all there, she had no knowledge of their history... confused, she headed for the door, it opened and she was gone. "That went well!", said Remae... a few moments later, she was back. "Jana?", he asked and she walked in, stopped and looked confused again. "I am not sure why I came back...", she said, now sounding scared. "You have no memory of me... did you ever?", Remae asked pointing at the viewscreen, "We can find out.", he added. Jana nodded and she added her access codes and her records came up... a few more commands and up came all references to Remae and there were a lot, years and years’ worth of records, entries, thoughts and other personal information. *SLAM* Jana had turned off the computer with a very hard smack against the control panel. "What the HELL is going on?", she said looking at Remae directly. "I've no idea, but, it maybe a good idea to check with the Doctor... what do you say?", he said and for a moment, it looked like Jana was going to smack something else and then she relaxed and nodded slowly. (Reply from Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Spectre – Turbolift – CMO, Cmdr Andrew Williams – 18:12) Andrew had not been able to talk to Jay or Anya during the meeting but he was able to catch them as they entered the turbolift. He looked at them as the doors closed and smiled. “Well it is nice to see you both.” Jay professional face broke into a smile as she gave him a hug followed by Anya. “It’s good to see you Andrew apart from the circumstances.” Andrew nodded as the turbolift moved through the ship. “As your heading after the Tempest I thought that you would need to know.” He paused for a moment know what he was about to say was classified. “We think that Sulia Madon is in evolved somehow. Either she is on the Tempest or at least nearby.” He saw Jay and Anya’s face fill with dread. “I did not tell you this.” A slight smile flash across Jay’s face as she nodded as Andrew handed her a PADD. “This is all the data that I have been researching about the parasite. Maybe Sazboe will see something that I have missed.” Jay nodded. “Thanks.” The turbolift moved to a halt and the doors whisked open. “This is me. I better get back to sickbay. Stay safe the both of you.” “You to Andrew.” Andrew smiled and gave them a wave as he exited the turbolift and headed towards sickbay. (Reply any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - CO's Office - FO/CEO, Lt Remae Ktell - 19:00) Remae had taken this time to speak to his CO, Captain T'Vhor. He had been asked not to be disturbed but they were about to get under-way once more and he need to make sure that nothing had changed. "Captain.", he said as the doors opened on the CO of the Spectre. Quickly, he brought the CO up to speed on the status of their mission, which were less than impressive but perhaps now, with the help of the Wraith and the Serenity, the could get to where they were suppose to be. "The Wraith and the Spectre will cloak shortly and resume our course while the Serenity attempts to delay the Tempest... she is somewhere nearby.", he reported and waited for the CO to comment. While he waited, he looked around the office where the CO had spent the past few hours. When silence was returned, he simply added, "Do you have any further instructions for me, Captain?", he said and while he waited, he thought about the crew that had been killed, their mission and the amount of work they had still to do. (Reply from T'Vhor, Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Spectre - CO's Office - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 19:02) The past few hours had been confusing, to say the very least. But then, this entire mission had been confusing being that hardly any of it had been following Starfleet protocol. They had been pursued by their own and ordered to prepare for boarding. The most senior officer on the ship, Admiral Sevant, had apparently 'blown a gasket' and thrown them all into chaos necessitating his disembark to the STRATOPS Starbase, and now they were being probed by an energy being of some sort with a penchant for chowing down upon the crew! What else could possibly go wrong? As though the universe itself had an ear on the Captains thoughts though, the chime sounded upon his door and in walked Remae, who wasted no time at all in relaying the latest events to him regarding the FO's meeting with the other two Captain's. "The Wraith and the Spectre will cloak shortly and resume our course while the Serenity attempts to delay the Tempest... she is somewhere nearby." The Captain nodded. Yes, the ubiquitous Tempest, the very ship that had initiated this mess after its dealings with the missing Garallon. T'Vhor had a strong inkling that Madon would still be on it, unless of course she had managed to transfer to a more powerful vessel than the Luna Class Tempest. It was, after all, what he would have done under the same circumstances. The logical choice so to speak... "If she is still in the area, then there should be some trace at least", said the Captain, "and if there is not, then the only place that they can possibly hide is within the nebula nearby", he added. (Reply Remae, IYW) Remae looked eager to proceed, and with the Wraith and the Serenity awaiting orders now, the Captain concurred on the planned course of action, namely to resume their course to Starbase 39-Sierra, the original route of the Tempest. "Do you have any further instructions for me, Captain?", enquired the First Officer. T'Vhor pondered for just a moment. They had lost crewmen and the Captain himself had been contemplating some kind of a service perhaps, but the gravity of their current situation dictated that it would have to wait. His report had been duly filed, Starfleet had been made aware. Loved ones would be informed. "Please, carry on Remae. Be sure to inform the Serenity to take no chances with the Tempest if it should encounter it. It's location should be recorded and assistance requested. I have no doubt at all that Sulia Madon would need no encouragement to attack, should she realise that she had been discovered" (Reply Remae) The Captain nodded again, the fingers of his right hand now coming to bear against the sides of a glass of fruit juice beside him. "Very well. Have Lieutenant Kerge report to me as soon as he is available to do so. I will require a tactical assessment of the Tempest under Madon's command, where she might be headed next and projections on the scope of likely contamination, given that the entire crew of the Tempest is now likely to have been compromised" (Reply Remae) "Any port of call. Any potential rendezvous. Anywhere they may possibly have docked and exchanged crew will give us some information on just how far the parasite may have infiltrated the Federation", said the Captain, hoping that that had remained minimal, but fearing the worst. (Reply Remae) The Captain then dismissed the FO and returned to the work he had been perusing beforehand... (Reply Remae) (Posted by Alan) (USS Serenity – Captain’s Ready Room – CO, Commander Jay - 19:15) Jay waited for Grayjoy to enter the ready room and sit down before she spoke. “I have just have a conversation with the Boss. She is going to have a chat with Admiral Jopek.” Grayjoy nodded. “I almost feel sorry for the Admiral.” Captain Aleese Akess may look like someone fresh out of the academy but she would soon be celebrating her 460 birthday. She was not some to be trifled with “She is departing Geneva with the Lily Sloane in 6 hours. Also Coleridge and the Free Booster has been redeployed and tasked to help Casper and the Road Runner so that they can depart when they have finished.” Grayjoy nodded. “So we are on our own?” “Yes and the Boss has put us on to Zombie.” Grayjoy paused for a moment. “Really things have gone that bad.” Jay shrugged. “The Boss has a gut feeling, nothing conclusive but she has lots of connections and something is not right.” “I trust the Boss’s gut feeling. What do we tell the crew?” She paused for a moment. “Zombie Level one is basically quarantine condition one so we will keep it at that until the Boss raises the level.” “What about us.” She smiled. “We get to go after the Tempest. We think it could be a plague ship but what’s worrying is that it may be carrying Sulia Madon.” Grayjoy’s face fell. “Ow hell. Do you think the fleet have any idea what they are dealing with?” Jay shrugged. “I don’t know but if half of the things that the Boss said about her is true then we need to be very careful.” ~I hope you are as well Andrew~ “We are going to do a combat SAR. We will start with a standard search pattern and push the kittens out to extend our search range.” Grayjoy nodded as he got up. “I think that Spectre and the Wrath got the easier mission especially if Sulia Madon is involved.” Jay nodded as she followed her first offer onto her bridge. (Reply any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Bridge - FO/CEO, Lt Remae Ktell - 19:20) The senior officers had once again returned to their stations. "Sir, the Serenity is departing.", reported OPS as the viewscreen showed the ship taking a slow arc and then jumping to warp. "Signal the Wraith, we're heading out. Cloak the ship and resume the course Starbase 39-Sierra, maximum warp.", ordered the First Officer. The Spectre shimmered in space just as the warp drive engaged, the Wraith followed suit and together, they headed toward 39-Sierra.
