Stardate: 3 Years Previously (Perra's Bedroom – Earth, near Starfleet Academy – Perra Tolqu - 20:00) Perra walked around the table slowly, she walked with a light touch, not allowing her heels to entirely touch the floor as she skirted around her prey. She smiled looking into the eyes of the young cadet she had ensnared. It was all too easy as she predicted, one drink and he had slumped over the sofa a look of confusion on his face, she knew that expression would change soon enough. She savoured his fear and drunk deep from his eyes, as they widened with some deep knowledge of what would soon begin. She ran her hand down his chest, allowing her natural Ornaran ability to seep into his body, she watched with delight as his back arched in pain, and tears soon came to his eyes, as he bit down into the gag in his mouth. She lapped up the pain as if a cat to milk, she intensified the bursts of energy that pulsed through the centre of her palm, as she watched him writhe under the shock waves that pierced through his body. Taking her hand away she cocked her head studying his breathing, noting every bead of sweat as it trickled down his chest, leaning forward so her lips almost brushed his ears she spoke. “First thing is to break you with pain. To shall we say loosen the mould before the real work begins my love.” She laughed wryly, throwing her head back as she saw the look on his face start to crumble, this young fool now knew what was to come, and none of it from this point onwards was going to get any better. Moving to the table she picked up a laser scapel and moved towards him with purpose, she could hear him trying to scream from behind the gag, she knew her cuts, she envisioned each slice in her mind, as she set about her grisly craft, With the expertise of a butcher, she set about her work, never cutting deep enough to allow a main artery to be broken, she knew every area where to inflict the most pain and did not hesitate in exploring every area of his body. Stardate: 3 Years Previously (Perra’s Bathroom - Earth, near Starfleet Academy – Perra Tolqu - 03:13) Perra looked down into the washing sink, the edges of her mouth set into a slight curl, as she watched the whirlpool of redness sink down into the drain. She washed her hands right up to her elbows to remove the blood that had soaked onto her skin, she smelled the slight iron tinge to the air and revelled in the idea it was Teverine’s blood. She smiled at the torture he would have to endure, she would destroy everything around him first, turn him into a homeless nobody and then she would have her fun with his flesh. She looked back into the room, the devices now attached to his head, was feeding him the information she needed to start her plans. He had soon gone into a mental breakdown, the pain had snapped something inside him, and now she used her acquired technology to make a new spy for herself, he would outwardly seem the same, but at a key command he would be hers and hers alone. He would transfer to whatever ship Teverine was on, she built in blocks to the programming, keeping this young cadet at watching distance, she wanted him ready for when everything was in place. (Reply None) (Posted by Peter Richards) ======================================================================== Mission: R and R Day: 1 Stardate 2413.10.11 (Starbase 24 – Red Robin’s Club – Perra Tolqu - 21:00) Perra listened to the repetitive music as it blasted out of the many tiny speakers dotted around the nightclub, the vibrations pulsed through the floor, though she did not move a muscle to the beat, she stared intently around for her contact. Her eyes scanned the crowds as they danced along to the mindless music. She knew he would meet her near the bar, and a brief file had given her contacts looks. Earlier that week she had an encoded transmission from her handler at the Orion syndicate to meet up for another mark. She mused this must be another high profile target, for them not to even risk sending the details via any transmissions, these jobs where always the most lucrative, and with her rising fame among the ranks, plus her amoral approach to life, she was becoming feared and respected, probably for some her rise was coming to quick, but Perra had them marked should they make an overt moves towards her. With a sudden rush of adrenaline Perra’s eyes caught hold of the two newest arrivals to the club as they stood in the entrance to the nightclub, she felt the heat rise up her spine, the implant sparkled into life, as without thought Perra’s emotions ran into overdrive, her vision almost hazed into red, as she stared at the one person she craved more than to kill, her life’s work of destroying her husband was all she dreamed of and here he was standing in front of her. She stood completely tense, almost frozen to the spot as her muscles bulged and tightened, her knuckles slowly turned white as she watched the two men make their way to an alcove, she moved like a predator among the crowds, sleekly making her way across to a better vantage point, she stood by a pillar just out of view as she watched Teverine sitting in an alcove speaking to his star fleet compatriot. All thoughts of her reasons being at the bar briefly vanished as her eyes narrowed, she wanted nothing more than to jump forward and rip out his heart, but that would be too easy for him, first he would have to know pain, pain of every kind, slow and long before he got any chance of a quick release like death. Perra smiled to herself as she closed her eyes briefly picturing the torment of what she would do to him. She noticed he wore plain drab clothing, he sat upright almost stiff, just like always she inwardly reflected she studied his face he had a serious expression, he seemed to be arguing with his friend, she sneered to her self. ~Always the pragmatist aren’t you my dear~ As she watched Teverine’s friend walk away, she considered approaching, knowing he would never know it was her, the cosmetic surgery had seen to that, she changed her features almost as often as her clothes these days, that was not her concern, keeping her anger in check would be the problem, breathing slowly she watched as Teverine’s friend return with a preposterous sized drink for Teverine. She smiled inwardly, a Tardarean Sunset, Teverine would not be remembering much after half a glass, she knew he rarely drank, he never did like losing control, she decided to wait, when he was more inebriated, she would make her move, she wanted to be closer to him, to smell him, to know she would soon make him pay. She watched as his friend moved of to the dance floor, she could see Teverine smiling to himself, swaying slightly under the growing influence of the beverage in front of him. ~Pathetic~ She felt the bile rise as she walked towards him; gaining control over her self again she smiled a sickly smile, moving her hips she approached. “Hi there darling would you care to dance with me?” She saw Teverine look up with a slight gaze in his eyes; she continued to smile, as she felt the heat again rise from within. She allowed time for him to fully inspect her outfit knowing he like many others approved of her modified body. Even Teverine would not look just once at such a selection of apparel and what showed very clearly what laid beneath it. “No, I don’t dance.” Perra almost laughed at the predictability of Teverine, she knew he would be buried in his own world of self righteous reflection. “Well surely you do my dear, you just haven’t found the right partner yet.” Perra played along with the game, knowing he would rebuke her again. “And I doubt she is in here, darling” Right on cue she thought, pretending to look insulted Perra turned her back on him. She knew within another hour or so he would have finished the drink, and a partial amount of guilt would of set in about the way he spoke to her, he was easier than a book to read, and just as stiff she thought. Moving back to the bar she thought of the reason why she was here in the first place, she mentally ticked herself off, but the shock of what was happening had dulled her senses briefly, looking to the bar she immediately saw the person she was looking for, smiling sweetly she approached her contact, putting her hand around his shoulder she gently placed her hand on his neck. Only she knew what her contact would looked like, depending on the time and date, a different code was required for confirmation it was from the right source. “On the end of my finger nail is a toxin that will have you paralyzed before you can make another sound.” She gently whispered into his ear, to anyone looking over it looked like they where in an intermit discussion. “The Red Robin is the place to be I here.” Calmly the contact did not flinch, as he replied. “Only if mother doesn’t find out.” Gently she released him as he handed her a data crystal underneath the bar. She watched him as he stood up and left, Perra would normally have left by now, but her attention continued towards the alcove where Teverine sat, she was going nowhere, as she tucked the small crystal in between her cleavage. As the night progressed she watched Teverine make his way to the toilet, from his state he was fully under the effects of the alcohol, she positioned her self on the dance floor knowing he would have to make his way through in her general location. She prepared her self mentally for what she was about to do, but she wanted to be close to him, hear his voice; she wanted to refuel her burning fire of hatred. She saw him approach and started to move with the music approaching him she grabbed his hips and thrust herself upon him. Before he knew it Teverine was complying with her and the music. It seemed his body had gone on revolt and ignored his mind to go back to its chair. The pure look of confusion and horror on his face obviously confused the girl dancing with him and had Beckett almost rolling on the floor laughing at his friend’s predicament. She threw her head back in mock laughter pretending to be enjoying the experience, though she felt every emotion except that, waves of violence crashed over her, dulling her senses, as she tried her hardest not to give anything away, as she ground her body up against him, she felt his breath on her neck, instinctively she reached up for his neck, but quickly catching herself, she raised her arms in the air, for which Teverine copied her. He then started feeling down her cat suit, using the natural born Ornaran trait of sending light pulses through her body, with a jolt these brought back images of their wedding day. Teverine had done the same thing then, when they danced together. She winced in pain as he misjudged one such pulse, it jabbed into her ribs like a hundred tiny knifes of shock. He stopped abruptly a look of confusion written all over his gormless face. She watched in utter horror as he placed his own hand to his chest and released a full blast of power through his palm, sending him rocketing towards the bar, and into unconsciousness She stood still a moment while she tried to register what had just happened, if it had been anyone else, she would have burst into laughter at the stupidity. Fate had thrown her a bone, and Teverine’s luck had denied her some fun. She had been planning giving him a nasty little gift later that night. Sighing as she heard Starbase security enter, she quickly made her way out of the nightclub and towards the docking bay. She had definitely overstayed her welcome here. They looked at each other and exchanged a giggley moment as both reached for the bowl of salad leaves at the same time. ~You know...~ Gabriella sent as she filled her plate, since talking telepathically was easier than speaking for the twins. ~Even with the stuff going on out there, things have been too quiet.~ Elizabeth sent back digging into her now overflowing bowl of salad after putting way too much dressing on it. ~I know! We've been good too, since coming from the Nimitz. I miss the kinda pranks we used to pull.~ ~Yeah.~ Beth agreed. Usually Ella was the good one, but both twins had been feeling the constraints of being too good since they had to be. A few seconds later and Beth looked up with a mischievous sparkle, all thoughts of food abandoned. ~We're supposed to be studying for entrance exams, but what would be more fun than a practical application....~ Ella followed the sense of her sister's thoughts a moment and broke into a delighted grin. ~I wonder what we still have of Dads...~ Ella was out of her chair in a heartbeat and across the floor and into their room to open the small trunk, Beth not half a step behind her. Both girls began to slowly unpack the 'gadgets' of the late Commander John Wilson. Most of it was out of date, but Ella was good at computers and Beth at contriving and between them they were pretty good at getting around the ship. Or at least they had been the Nimitz. This was a different place, and they'd wanted to make a good impression. ~I think this one will jam the security system for a few seconds, but it might show up on the logs, so you'd have to...~ Beth sent touching the modified tricorder with one finger. ~Yeah I know, but it's encryption is out of date. We could try it though, someplace not so secure just to have some fun...~ Ella's eyes had a matching gleam. "Who first though?" Beth asked aloud, just to cancel the silence in the air - and the sense of sadness. Both girls missed their father a great deal. Beth grinned. "The new Engineer. Whats his name.... Aldlar...." She tapped her finger on her chin. "Durgil." She grinned. "Well...what do we know about him?" Ella asked curiously. (reply none) (posted by mel :-) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - ACMO, Dr. Michaella Kirien - 19:18) Michaella had been called to sickbay to fill-in. She enjoyed this aspect of her job, but was a little out of touch after several months in medical research. She tended to take graveyard shifts for the most part when she did do a sickbay rotation. =^= Captain to Sickbay =^= Michaella looked up and smiled. She liked the Captain and it'd been a stressful few days, "Dr. Kirien here, Sir. How may I help you?" She spoke pleasantly, her voice full of cheer. =^= How is Commander Williams' sister doing? =^= Michaella moved a few paces to peek over to where they were talking still. Even from this distance she could see the bio readouts clearly, "Well Sir, Dr. Williams is speaking with her, and she appears animated. Her readouts look normal as well." Michaella wasn't sure what else to add. She'd heard a few rumors but wasn't clear on what was going on. She waited a few moments to see if the Captain had anything more to ask of her. (Reply Captain if needed or Dr. Williams, any) (posted by melinda :-) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - CEO, Lt H'Chir - 20:05) The cherrub was once again, out of reach. Indeed, the more H'Chir tried to grab the hypospanner from it's taunting grip, the more it seemed to laugh and jeer at him as he tumbled head over heels amongst the clouds. At one time, he had almost had it again but had lost it as the spanner began spiraling out of control towards the ground in the grip of neither himself, nor the cherrub. Needless to say, the incredibly agile creature retrieved it once again to continue with it's torment of the hapless Engineer. "Come here you little.... ", cried H'Chir through gritted teeth now, "I'll tear you wing from wing!", he hollered, and then promptly began tumbling once again. It was at that precise moment that the erstwhile Engineer gritted his teeth for the last and final time, and in that moment, he had drawn a phasor from his side and had shot at the winged demon with an accuracy that suprised even he. "Ha ha!", he cried jubilantly, "fry you little monster" There had been but a slight yelp from the creature itself just before it evaporated, then the hypospanner began tumbling through the fermament once again, pursued once again by a gliding Andorian. In seconds the tool was in his hand again, and with a fit of laughter bordering upon apoplexy... he awoke upon a sickbay biobed! "What.. Who the.... What's going on!", he cried, immediately sitting up now as he spoke, his cry attracting the attention of one of the Spectre medics as he did so. (Reply Kirien, Any) H'Chir huffed and then swung his feet off the bed in a vibrant display of Andorian arrogance. "I feel fine, you obviously know little of Andorian physiology", he blurted, "I", he added, emphasizing the 'I' as he spoke, "am not a Human, and therefore not prone to the weaknesses that you people seem to exhibit" (Reply Kirien) H'Chir gesticulated wildly with his hand, then he stood up. "My engines need me, discuss this with the Captain if you wish but I'm going", he retorted, and then headed to the door. (Reply Kirien, Any) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - Dr. Michaella Kirien - 20:08) Michaella wasn't sure how or when the engineer had ended up in sickbay, but he had some burns on his hands. They were relatively normal for engineers, accidents happened even in the best controlled environments. He had a mild concussion as well, which she was in the process of trying to treat when he woke up. The burns were a secondary concern at the moment. She didn't know much about Andorian physiology, that was true. But she was a good doctor and she did care about her patients. "What.. Who the.... What's going on!" He blurted, sitting up and knocking over the device that was attempting to deal with his concussions. Michaella put herself into his line of vision and smiled her best bedside manner even though she was exhausted. "I'm Dr. Kirien. I'm not sure what happened in Sickbay, but it seems there was some sort of accident. You got a pretty bad bump to your head, and have a mild concussion. As well as burns on your hands. Sir." She vaguely remembered that she was supposed to say that to people who were technically higher rank than her. she was surprised when the Andorian actually managed to get up, swing his legs over and hop down. It took her a minute to recover her composure after the Andorian bellowed. "I feel fine, you obviously know little of Andorian physiology", he blurted, "I", he added, emphasizing the 'I' as he spoke, "am not a Human, and therefore not prone to the weaknesses that you people seem to exhibit." Michaella would have laughed it was so absurd. "My engines need me, discuss this with the Captain if you wish but I'm going", he retorted, heading towards the door. She shook her head. It was ridiculous. "Sir, you need to, you can't go..." She picked up a hypospray and moved to block his way to the door, "You aren't fit to go back on duty yet, Sir." She waited, the hypo behind her, ready to inject him if needed. He wouldn't be the first patient she would have had to sedate to get them to see common sense. (Reply H'chir, any in sickbay) (posted by melinda :-) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - CEO, Lt H'Chir - 20:12) "Sir, you need to..... you Can't go", said the voice from behind him. H'Chir furrowed his brow just slightly at the words as he approached the door to sickbay, then he stopped in his tracks and swung round to face the medic who seemed to be effectively attempting to detain him! His antennae began jesticulating wildly at the notion. ~Who the hell is this woman~ "You aren't fit to go back on duty yet, Sir.", said the medic, a hand surreptitiously held behind her back as she spoke. H'Chir glanced down to where her hand should have been and huffed lightly. She seemed slightly nervous in her stance now, but at the same time looked like she actually meant business. He regarded her briefly, then he spoke. "Do you really think you can hit me with that before I head out?", he asked with a smile. (Reply Kirien) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - Dr. Michaella Kirien - 20:14) Michaella relaxed just a little bit, the hypo still behind her back. "Do you really think you can hit me with that before I head out?", he asked with a smile. "Well, Sir I don't want to have to try. Can you just go back to the medical bed for a bit longer so that I can finish treating you? Otherwise I'll have to call security and have them drag you back here, and that isn't really what I want to have to do. It's embarrassing for you, and for me, and well..." She shrugged. She had thumbed the release on the hypospray, ready to jam it into him if he pushed past him. She wasn't bluffing. And to think she wanted to be a medical doctor for the glory of seeing the stars. No one mentioned that wrestling Andorians would be in the job description. (reply H'Chir, any) (posted by mel :-) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - CEO, Lt H'Chir - 20:15) Well, the woman certainly had gumption, that much was for sure. Would she 'really' resort to calling security just to get him back into a biobed though? It might be interesting to find out, thought H'Chir surpressing a laugh. All of this seemed totally absurd to the Andorian, after all he felt perfectly fine and capable of resuming his duties regardless of what Kirien, or any other medic on board felt. "Lady", he began with a coquetish quirk of his head to one side, "I really don't have time for this, perhaps I could meet you after I end my shift if you truly are of the notion to play, 'let's twiddle with the Andorian's antennae', I could give you more of my time then", he added with a rogueish grin. (Reply Kirien) Her reply was to be expected of course and H'Chir raised an eyebrow, pursed his lips and then let out a slightly forced sigh. "Not even if I brought a vintage bottle of the finest Andorian ale?", he enquired. (Reply Kirien) "Then I shall take my leave of you, I have work to do", said H'Chir stoicly, whilst performing a comical bow in the process and then turning to march defiantly towards the door. (Reply Kirien, Any) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - ACMO, Dr. Michaella Kirien - 20:18) The Andorian must be insane if he thought that she was propositioning him. Her jaw dropped and she stared at him pointing at the biobed, "There. Now!" His response was even more unexpected and from behind her, she heard a snicker from a nurse. "I wasn't joking! Get back in that bed, now!" He ignored her, probably thinking she was still propositioning him. "Then I shall take my leave of you, I have work to do" He left the Doctor staring at him. She had missed her chance to inject him with the hypospray in her hand. As he made it out of sickbay she tapped her badge, "Dr. Kirien to Security. Get the Chief down here, immediately." She felt like kicking something instead of dealing with this Andorian that was driving her nuts. Maybe it was a lack of sleep, but she was tired. And she knew she had to go through with her threat. Otherwise the next senior officer would walk all over her when he wanted to get out of Sickbay. And she had to handle this carefully. Otherwise he would be more embarrassed. And she didn't want that (reply H'Chir, security) (posted by mel :-) (USS Spectre - Corridor - CEO, H'Chir and CO, Captain T'Vhor - 20:19) H'Chir was feeling suitably pleased with himself right now and wondered what a pickle the medical officer would now be in after his little 'game' with her. ~Ha, serves her right~ he thought with a smile. Walking down through the corridor towards turbolift three however, he espied an Ensign speaking with another Ensign, both of whom stopped their discussion upon his approach. They looked surprised to see him, obviously already being aware of the news that the Andorian was supposed to be out of action. "Can I help you two?", said H'Chir as he arrived next to them. "Umm, no sir. It's just that, I mean... ", stammered the Ensign. "Just what", said H'Chir purturbed now, "that I'm not supposed to be walking around the ship!, that I'd died and gone to Andorian heaven!" Both officers fell silent, not quite knowing what to say now after the Andorians tirade. H'Chir huffed and then set off again, pressing his combadge as he did so. "H'Chir to the Captain", he snapped. =/\=Mr H'Chir?=/\= came the reply from an obviously surprised Captain, =/\=I had been told that you were bedridden... is everything alright?=/\= "No they are not Captain", said H'Chir, "it would seem that everybody thinks that I'm incapable of doing my job, and that I should be headed for the nearest invalidity sanctum... that woman, Kirien tried to get me into bed sir", he added. =/\=Tried to get you into bed Mr H'Chir? That is not... logical=/\= said the Captain as H'Chir stepped into the turbolift and then hollered for the Engineering deck. "I'm sorry sir, I didn't mean that in the way you assumed, she just wouldn't let me leave and I feel fine enough to resume my duties... the ship needs me damnit" said H'Chir as the turbolift stopped short of his required deck and a science officer stepped in, at which H'Chir snapped at him also. "What?", he said in a sharp tone of voice. "Nothing sir", said the Science officer, "I am merely about to request my deck... deck three please", he added. There was then a slight pause in the proceedings, which was inevitably broken by the Captain. =/\=Mr H'Chir, you are to return to sickbay immediately. It would seem that Security have been made aware of your inadvertant departure from Doctor Kiriens care, and you are to return in order to receive the proper discharge protocol 'before' you return to your post ... do I make myself clear?=/\= H'Chir simply frowned and then exhaled heavily. "Crystal sir, but I fail to see why, I feel absolutely fine", he said. =/\=I am sure then that Doctor Kirien will pass you as fit for duty as soon as she has run her final tests, in the mean time, you will do whatever she requires you to do... Captain out=/\= H'Chir shook his head, completely surprised now that his simple return to duty was causing such a fuss. The Science officer simply raised an eyebrow and then averted his gaze in order not to fire the Andorian up even further. H'Chir shrugged and then changed his previous command for the lift, albeit somewhat reluctantly. "Sickbay", he grunted, and then turned to look at the science officer beside. "Don't you say a word", he snapped. The Science officer did not..... (Reply None, Any) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - CEO, H'Chir - 20:22) H'Chir paused just briefly immediately outside of sickbay, then he glanced in to see if Kirien was anywhere to be seen. To a degree, he knew now that he was going to lose face somewhat, especially in light of the Captain ordering him to return to her after he had so impertinently escaped her clutches only a short time beforehand! Nobody liked to be made to feel small, and H'Chir was no exception to that rule, with a slight sigh though he took a deep breath and then reached up to tweak one antennae as he often did when he was a tad nervous, then he straightened himself up and walked in. At first, nobody was to be seen but a nurse overseeing some notes on a PADD. H'Chir wondered for just a second or two if they were his notes, then he turned and spied Kirien standing over at the far end of sickbay. Another deep breath, and then he was upon her with his usual cockiness. "Well, good evening again Doctor Kirien", he said cheerilly. (Reply Kirien) H'Chir frowned just slightly, then he relaxed his face once again in an attempt to appear unflustered at the sharpness of her remark. "Apparently, the Captain felt that it might be a good idea if I were to aquiesce to your demands in regards tests and such... so, here I am", said H'Chir spreading his arms out as though to give the medic a hug. "Did you miss me?", he enquired.... He wiped the newley forming beads of his brow with the sleeve of his uniform, he truly felt like he had not slept in a month. But work persisted and Both of them did not have time at present for menial things like sleep or rest. Their was a rogue ship flying around the quadrant inpersonating the Spectre. ~God knows what it is planning next~ “Star fleet have in the past used a Tachyon detection grid on the Romulan borders inorder to find hidden cloaked ships.” Teverine mused out loud, more to himself than for any benefit of Hightower who worked opposite him over the console on board the Dauntless. “Yes but what has that got to do with detecting a holographic ship posing as the Spectre Teverine? ” Hightower mused. Since working with Hightower, Teverine felt a kindred soul, when it came to an interest in solving problems, he was happy to bounce ideads of her, even though some were easily dismissed as improbable or down right stupid. Whatever he thought he had come into habit of saying it loud to see the feedback he got from Hightower. Plus it sounded better out loud to play around with. “A high level Tachyon burst could disrupt the holographic sensors, but it would need to be on a higher band width than anything our deflector could handle…” Teverine’s conversation fell off in mid sentence as he tried to think of a way around this problem. “Fishing! “ Hightower blurted out, Teverine looked perplexed and stopped what he was doing to look at Hightower with a mixture of confusion and slight exasperation. “I don’t think we can get our rods out anytime soon. “ Hightower smiled at Teverine with a sparkle in her eye, that belayed a sense of understanding of facts yet unknown to her college. “In Earth’s past trawlers were used to drag huge nets behind them to capture fish,” “I’m not getting your point.” “In hard times two ships would work together dragging the nets between the two ships increasing the amount of fish that could be caught.” It was like a light had turned on in Teverine’s mind as he smiled wryly at Hightower. “And if we mounted a Tachyon field using both the deflectors working in tandem between the Spectre and the Dauntless we could disrupt any holographic sensors onboard a ship. You old sea dog! “ Hightower smiled with pride as Teverine quickly tapped his comm badge. “Teverine to T’Vhor.” (Reply T’Vhor) “I think we have discovered a way of detecting the ship that attacked the Dauntless. If we link the deflectors of both ships we can effectively make a Tachyon net, anything in its path between the two ships will show up immediately.” (Reply T’Vhor) (Posted by Peter Richards) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 20:34) The Captain leaned forwards over the biobed, scrutinizing Audrey as he did so. Doctor Huvall had been monitoring her readouts at the time of course and whilst they all said that everything was fine and dandy, something still wasn't ringing true. Why had Audrey volunteered so much information on the Guardian, what did she have to gain from that? The answers were not particularly forthcoming and as much as a mind meld was now effectively off-limits due to her little implementation, the Captain still felt that the only way they could be sure of anything she had provided, was via such means. =/\=Teverine to T’Vhor=/\= The communication had been sudden and abrupt, Tolqu's voice seemingly tinged with urgency and more than just a little excitement. "Go ahead Mr Tolqu", said the Captain, standing up straight now and turning his attention away from Audrey on the biobed. =/\=I think we have discovered a way of detecting the ship that attacked the Dauntless. If we link the deflectors of both ships we can effectively make a Tachyon net, anything in its path between the two ships will show up immediately=/\= The Captain pondered the Ensigns suggestion for a brief moment before responding, then he pointed out one major problem in his plan. "Your plan is a valid one Ensign, however, the Dauntless is not going anywhere soon", he said dryly, "with her warp systems offline and in need of replacement parts, which I may add, we do not have, she is effectively limited to impulse power only. (Reply Tolqu) "I see no reason why your plan could not work upon our arrival in the Sol system, though not by way of the Dauntless, she is currently awaiting a supply vessel with the means to return warp capability. We however, will be long gone", said the Captain. (Reply Tolqu) "Agreed, once you are back on board you may run simulations pending the formulation of an active plan", said the Captain returning his gaze once again to Audrey who was stirring again. He brought his hand up and slowly rubbed the bridge of his nose after long moments of silence. Running the department after the departure of Commander Capps, and generally running around like mad, was telling on a man his age. Not to mention that the emotional stability of the crew was tenuous at best, and his shielding was taking a beating. He stepped away from the wall and walked over to his chair, which he slipped into gracefully. He’d planned on going directly to bed, but he didn’t figure he’d get to sleep any time soon without medicinal help; he was too tired to sleep. He only had a few hours off, they were still on emergency rotation, so he didn’t have long to decide if he wanted to force himself into sleep or not. After several minutes of silence, he leaned forward and gently opened the small case that was sitting on the living room table. Inside was a small violin, one of the three possessions he carried with him from place to place. It was obviously handmade, well worn from use, though he was fanatical about taking care of it. Cassandra had given it to him not long before… Walker leaned back again, though his eyes continued to trace the wood grain of the neck. He could play almost every stringed instrument known to the Federation, but he’d touched none but this violin since joining Starfleet all those years ago. Only the violin could sound the chords of his soul, the dark sounds that made the symphony of his life. He leaned forward again and picked the instrument up gently. His fingers stroked the wood almost of their own volition, tracing the familiar carvings absently. A few moments later he picked up the bow and placed the violin under his chin. Without a single false start, he began to play the violin section of an Earth composition, Barber’s Adagio for strings, Op 11. NRPG: Highly recommended, Barbers Adagio for strings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izQsgE0L450&feature=related RPG: After the first thirty seconds, he closed his eyes and conjured in memory the additional parts. No computer recording or follow along could match the mournful sound to his satisfaction; he could hear each instrument with crystal clarity deep within the chambers of his heart. He lost himself in the music after a couple of minutes, letting the mood take him where it would. His barriers broke down for just a moment, and his face tightened in distant pain as the violin and phantom quartet of his mind played out the story of his life. He was almost three quarters of the way through the piece when his peace was shattered by the chirping of his combadge. =^=Captain to Lieutenant Isengard=^= Walker’s playing faltered with a squeak, and he had to beat back an irrational surge of anger at having his private moment interrupted. He remained silent until he was sure his voice would be even, and then replied. “Isengard Here.” =/\=My ready room at your earliest convenience Mr Isengard=/\= “Yes. Sir.” He said before the channel cut off. His lips tightened as he looked down at his violin, the chords of the Adagio had barely stopped ringing off the walls of his quarters. Walker sighed as he placed the bow back in the case, followed by the violin. Rest, and solace, would have to come at a later time. He rubbed the bridge of his nose while he worked up his mental shields again, and then slowly stood. Duty, it seemed, was not done with him yet. (Reply None) (Posted by Trout) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 20:50) "... understood sir, we'll be certain to be on our guard", said T'Vhor in responce to the Admiral's warning in regards the soon to be arriving shuttle. It had been unexpected of course, but Starfleet in it's infinite wisdom had ordered that Commander Sprak be assigned to replace their CSO for the time being. T'Vhor had never served with a Lepracarian before, it would be an interesting assignment for sure considering the Commanders somewhat, childlike appearance. =/\=We must assume that an ETHOS equipped ship could assume the identity of any vessel Captain, including a shuttle=/\= said Alexander ominously. The Captain simply nodded. Actually, it was an illogical assumption on the Admirals part, for the ETHOS system was best at projecting hard matter away from itself, rather than approximating space around it's periphery in order to make the core vessel appear smaller. It was probably just Starfleet flexing itchy fingers, which given the circumstances was to be expected of course. "What is the ETA of the arriving shuttle sir?", asked the Captain, changing the subject now. =/\=It should be with you within twelve hours Captain, it's already left Starbase Nine.... have you ever worked with a Lepracarian before T'Vhor?=/\= The Captain raised an eyebrow, musing upon his past observation as he did so. "I have not sir, it should prove an interesting experience", said T'Vhor. The Admiral guffawed at that, laughing for the very first time since the communique began. =/\=Just remember NOT to treat him like a child and you'll be fine, although granted, it's not easy considering a Lepracarian's appearance=/\= The Captain quirked his head slightly to one side, an attempt to ease the tension he had recently been feeling in his upper back, then he duly responded. "I shall endeavor to keep that in mind sir", he said, somewhat flatly, and typically Vulcan. =/\=So the Aggamemnon is on station, your injured crew have been transferred to the Dauntless for transit to Geneva medical, and your other new crew are aboard Captain, I'd say that's pretty much wrapped up for now wouldn't you say.... we shall see you in two days. Alexander out=/\= T'Vhor simply nodded as the screen returned to it's familiar starfleet logo, the Admiral had seemed eager to get away for seem reason and had closed the comms before he had even responded, duty calling perhaps, who knew. For now though the Captain had some crew reassignments to deal with, along with welcoming the new arrivals a little later also of course, so with that in mind he settled back into his chair and then tapped at his combadge. "Captain to Lieutenant Isengard", he said. (Reply Isengard) "My ready room at your earliest convenience Mr Isengard", said T'Vhor, preparing himself now for whatever state of mind Walker might actually be in right now, given his past experiences with him of course. (Reply Isengard) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre – Bridge, Outside the Read Room – Lt(jg) Walker Isengard - 20:59) Walker stepped up to the ready room, after a quick look at the bridge, and pressed the enunciator. “Lt Isengard.” He said, simply. (reply: CO, any) (posted by Trout) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 21:00) The sound of the annunciator chiming, heralded the expected arrival of Isengard, who was duly ushered in with a wave of the Captain's hand as he turned from the viewing port he had previously been gazing out of. Isengard looked tired as he walked towards the desk, a sense of possible irritation lingering within an often obsessively shut mind. "Please, take a seat Lieutenant", said the Captain. (Reply Isengard) "Can I get you something to drink?", asked the Captain, motioning towards the replicator as he spoke. (Reply Isengard) The Captain then took his seat opposite the beleaguered looking Betazoid, his hands resting upon the table before him. "You seem, unusually tense Mr Isengard, I trust that everything is alright?", said the Captain. (Reply Isengard) "Very well then, let us get right down to business", said the Captain, pausing now just briefly before continueing on with the core reason for his summoning of the man. "I want you to head up the Security department Lieutenant, in an acting capacity initially of course, but perhaps permanently if you so choose to", he added, pausing again now to allow the offer of what was basically a promotion, to settle into the older mans psyche. It went without saying of course that Isengard wasn't exactly your common or garden security officer, that much was certain and the Captain wasn't quite sure how he would take this offer. Indeed his record, although exemplory showed a certain disregard for the attainment of any appreciable rank, the man himself seemingly preferring not to climb too far up the ladder of Starfleets internal ladder systems. (Reply Isengard) NRPG: I don't want to post too much here, preferring instead to allow the dialogue to unfold rather than leading you down a particular and predictable path via a series of assumptions. RPG: (Reply Isengard) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Science Room - ACSO, Ensign Teverine Tolqu - 21:00) Looking up at Hightower, Teverine rubbed his forehead. “If we keep the Tachyon at a low wave length we can sustain a longer period of time search, without overloading the Deflectors themselves, but I need an engineer to help with some of these equations, I need to know how our ship fairs, before we even think about running a simulation, we need more information for this to work effectively.” The basics where sound for how to make this work, but the theory was the easy part, what Teverine needed was some technical work on the hardware. Tapping his comm badge he just hoped someone was free. “Teverine to Engineering” (Reply Any) (Posted by Peter Richards) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room - Lt Isengard - 21:01) "Please, take a seat Lieutenant.” “Sir.” Isengard said evenly as he walked around and took a seat. He took a moment to get comfortable, before weaving his fingers together over his lap. "Can I get you something to drink?" “So Sir, I’m fine.” He said. The Captain took that for what it was worth and took a seat across the desk from him. The Betazoid quirked his head slightly as T’Vhor looked at him. "You seem, unusually tense Mr Isengard, I trust that everything is alright?" Walker quirked an eyebrow just slightly as he retreated into his own head for half a moment and checked his shields. They were intact; he wasn’t leaking, so he couldn’t be causing the alteration of anyone’s mood. Therefore, Walker reasoned, the Captain was on a fishing expedition. “Long hours and a lot of work Captain, nothing that a nap won’t cure in time.” He said after a moments pause, careful to keep his tone even. He supposed the Captain could check the roster later to see that he was in his four hours of down-time now, it wouldn’t serve to seem that he was giving the man a verbal slap. "Very well then, let us get right down to business" the Vulcan said after a pause. "I want you to head up the Security department Lieutenant, in an acting capacity initially of course, but perhaps permanently if you so choose to" Walker didn’t twitch a muscle as he considered that for a moment. “With the departure of the Commander Capps, Sir, I’m already doing the job: I will continue to do so for the foreseeable future until you choose otherwise. You may tack whatever appendage to my job title you deem fit without a word of protest from me.” (reply: CO) (posted by Trout) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 21:02) It seemed to the Captain right now, that Walker had not changed his viewpoint in regards rank and promotion, indeed, it now almost bordered on blase. The Captain's expression however had not changed, that typically deadpan Vulcan countenance simply remained regardless as the man opposite him took on a similar, expressionless appearance. "It is not a question of my tacking appendages Lieutenant, I am aware that you are already 'doing the job' as you say, and have no real wish to promote you when promotion is something that you simply do not want", said the Captain, "However, the rest of Security look up to the man leading them, if they do not see reward coming from their Captain when a lower rank goes out on a limb to lead, then what message does that send", said the Captain rhetorically. (Reply Isengard, IYW) "You are a lieutenant junior grade, at the very least I feel that your actions warrant a rank increase to that of Senior grade, therefore that will be the case", said the Vulcan hybrid. (Reply Isengard, IYW) "But on to more pertinent matters", said the Captain continuing on now. "As you are aware, we are currently in pursuit of a rather unusually equipped vessel, indeed it is not the easiest of vessels to unmask or detect... by conventional means that is", he added. (Reply Isengard) "When we arrive at Sol, I will be requiring your presence on the bridge at the primary tactical console", said the Captain, "I want you to, shall we say, 'listen', into fleet chatter taking place outside of normal communications", he added. "I am sure that you understand what I mean when I say this?" (Reply Isengard) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room - Lt Walker Isengard - 21:03) "It is not a question of my tacking appendages Lieutenant, I am aware that you are already 'doing the job' as you say, and have no real wish to promote you when promotion is something that you simply do not want", said the Captain, "However, the rest of Security look up to the man leading them, if they do not see reward coming from their Captain when a lower rank goes out on a limb to lead, then what message does that send" Walker quirked an eyebrow and nodded his head once. "You are a lieutenant junior grade, at the very least I feel that your actions warrant a rank increase to that of Senior grade, therefore that will be the case" Walker quirked the corner of his mouth. "As you wish, Sir." "But on to more pertinent matters", said the Captain continuing on now. "As you are aware, we are currently in pursuit of a rather unusually equipped vessel, indeed it is not the easiest of vessels to unmask or detect... by conventional means that is" "Uncomfortably aware, Captain." Isengard said. "We're still working on ways to unmask it before we're destroyed, without much success as of yet." "When we arrive at Sol, I will be requiring your presence on the bridge at the primary tactical console", said the Captain, "I want you to, shall we say, 'listen', into fleet chatter taking place outside of normal communications", he added. "I am sure that you understand what I mean when I say this?" Walker looked at the Captain hard for a moment. The telepathic laws ran through his mind, but he pushed them aside as he considered some of the options. After long moments of silence he said, "You realize that we'd have to get close to almost every ship you want me to listen in on? We'd look more than a little bit conspicuous. It would be better to put me on a shuttle and send me around." (reply: CO) (posted by Trout) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 21:05) The matter raised by the Captain in regards Isengard using telepathic contact in order to track the ETHOS vessel, had been carefully thought out beforehand of course. T'Vhor knew that Isengards mind might have drifted somewhat in the direction of the moral laws, but necessity, as they say was the mother of invention, and there were times when the moral laws could be, shall we say bent slightly. It certainly wouldn't be the first time anyway. Needless to say though, Isengard had indeed paused at the suggestion, then he had gone right on to say that the Captain would have to get him close to any ship he might want him to listen into, thus more or less giving his consent to the plan itself. "....We'd look more than a little bit conspicuous, it would be better to put me on a shuttle and send me around", he had added. The Captain nodded his assent, seeing the Lieutenants logic regardless of his concerns, which he quickly voiced. "This is true, but whether you are on board a shuttle or the Spectre, meandering through a number of ships within the Sol system at close quarters may still arouse suspicion", he said. (Reply Isengard) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room - Acting TAC/SC, Lt Walker Isengard - 21:06) "This is true, but whether you are on board a shuttle or the Spectre, meandering through a number of ships within the Sol system at close quarters may still arouse suspicion", he said. Isengard bobbed his head once. "Especially to anyone looking for suspicious activity. It might be possible, however, to plan the trip so it doesn’t look as suspicious. Perhaps take the shuttle out to one ship to deliver a message, come back and go out again a few minutes later to another destination." He tapped his thumbs together absently. "I will give it some thought while we are en-route, Captain." (reply: CO, with room for discussion) Walker nodded. "Is there anything else, Captain?" (reply: CO, any) (posted by Trout) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 21:07) Lieutenant Isengard had suggested the use of a ruse in regards the shuttle, under the pretence of passing messaages to various ships, they could run by them and he could report on what he was receiving telepathically. The Captain pondered the plan, it was still a risky move and what was to say that their target vessel didn't carry it's own, empathic savant? "I will give it some thought while we are en-route, Captain.", Isengard had offered, a suggestion that implied to the Captain that the man was clearly 'feeling' now where his CO's thought's were going. The Captain paused briefly, and then nodded his head. "I do not want to put you into any unecessary danger Mr Isengard, therefore I will arrange for a Marine pilot to assist you so that your mind can be entirely on the task at hand and not piloting the shuttle. Or if need be, you may make your own choice on who you wish to take with you", said the Captain. (Reply Isengard, IYW) Walker nodded. "Is there anything else, Captain?", he asked. "There is", said the Captain, "when we arrive at Sol, I think that it will be prudent to have the Navigator liaise with Tactical to plot a course which will take us as near to the most densely polulated areas as is possible. You will scan ships as we pass them, then once we are in Earth orbit, you will take the shuttle out and begin your runs", he added. He paused for a moment, "It might be prudent to give the bridge crew anti-psi drugs, to minimize the noise they produce while we're doing a flyby. That will be the only instance that I can't take my time in scanning." (reply: if desired) (posted by Trout) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 21:17) It had certainly been a long and tiring day for the crew of the USS Spectre, even those of Vulcan heritage. The Captain himself duly collected his drink from the reception tray of the replicator, his fingers chilling slightly at the coldness of the glass as he did so. He took a slow sip of the cool refreshing liquid, an Orange juice, suitably chilled as requested, then he turned and made towards his desk. Sitting in his chair, he placed the glass to one side upon the table and then accessed the small console upon it, instructing the computer to begin recording a log entry as he did so. The Computer duly responded in the time honoured fashion that it always did. [Opening log. Ready] The Captain settled back into the chair, his eyes closing just briefly before he began... "Captain's log, Stardate 2414.04.04. It is with regret today that I must announce the departure or loss of a number of our crew due to the attack sustained earlier in orbit of Vedea IV. It would seem that the cowardly ambush by the ETHOS vessel claimed more than we had first suspected, Lieutenant Commander Capps, Lieutenant Adams and a number of other crew have either been lost or injured beyond return to service." The Captain paused briefly to take another sip of his drink and then pondered those losses, his good freind Capps in particular, then he began once again. "The USS Dauntless is now being tendered by the Aggamemnon, her warp engines are back online and the crew is returning to a servicable condition ready for departure to Starbase Geneva for full evaluation of the damage sustained, and disembark of our injured crew. Admiral Alexander has indicated that Starfleet command is currently in a state of expectational readiness both in, and around the Sol sector and confidence is high that we will detect the ETHOS vessel, before it has a chance to execute whatever plan it has gone there to achieve" "I have hereby promoted Lieutenant Walker Isengard to the role of Acting Tactical Security Chief, and will request his presence on the bridge upon arrival at Sol. It is my opinion that his Empathic abilities may be of assistance in locating the vessel in question once we arrive in the Sol sector." "Against all the odds, it would seem also that Lieutenant H'Chir, despite information to the contrary, is now able to return to his role as CEO. One never ceases to be amazed at the recuperative powers of the Andorian physiology, and of H'Chir in particular.....his resolve is to be commended. Append to existing, close log" [Log entry appended and saved. Closing log] (Reply None) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre - Bridge - CO, Captain T'Vhor & CEO, Lt H'Chir - 21:28) The Captain strode purposefully onto the bridge, the prior discussion with Admiral Alexander in his ready room still fresh in his mind as he took the centre seat from the Lieutenant Commander that had previously been occupying it. Once seated, he called for a prompt report on the ships status, receiving an 'all systems reporting as optimal given the current level of the previous damage inflicted' responce, then he opened a channel to the Fisrst Officer, who had yet to return from the damaged Dauntless. "Spectre to Commander Williams" (Reply Williams) "We have been ordered to proceed to the Sol system immediately Mr Williams, with the Aggamemnon now on station and providing assistance, we can move on as originally planned. It should not be forgotten that we have a ship to find", said the Captain. (Reply Williams) "Very well. Please have all Spectre crew, plus transferring officers return to the ship in the first instance... Spectre out", said the Captain closing the comms and then addressing the helm accordingly. "Helm, make your course one sixty, mark two nine seven. Prepare to engage at maximum warp once our crew are back on board" (Reply Helm) "Open a channel to the Dauntless please Lieutenant", said the Captain, this time addressing the Tactical officer manning TAC One behind him. "Aye sir, Dauntless responding now", came the reply, and the screen filled with the view of a seated Captain Carlin-Lave on the bridge of his ship. The Vulcan hybrid nodded accordingly, then he addressed him. "We have been ordered by fleet command to proceed to the Sol system Captain, I understand repairs are underway and that the Dauntless' warp drive is back online", said T'Vhor. =/\=That it is Captain, and not before time. I only wish we were up to speed to accompany you to kick that ships ass=/\= said Carlin-Lave. =/\=I feel the need for a little payback=/\= "That is understandable", said T'Vhor, "hopefully, we shall provide that payback for you, in the interim though I have received word from Admiral Alexander that Starbase six one two is awaiting your arrival. I would like to thank you also for the crew transfers and wish you a safe voyage from here on in", he added. =/\=Thank you Captain... and I would like to add that I am sorry that we so wrongly assumed that the Spectre had attacked us in the first place, under the circumstances though, I am sure that you would understand=/\= "Indubitably so", said T'Vhor, "your apology, though not necessarily required, is accepted", said T'Vhor, "I trust that when our paths cross again, it shall be on better terms than these", he added. Carlin-Lave nodded his assent of that, then he bade the Spectre's CO farewell and the comms was duly closed. The Captain then returned his attention to Engineering, and a somewhat beleaguered H'Chir, recently returned to duty with an almost miraculous recovery from his previously life threatening injuries. "Mr H'Chir, what is our current warp status?", he enquired. =/\=Despite some inept tinkering whilst I was out of action sir, I can give you warp eight sustained. Just don't go getting hit by any more phantoms=/\= said H'Chir. "Very good Lieutenant, I will endeavour to keep that possibility at a minimum. We will be under way within thirty minutes, please be ready", said the Captain. =/\=We'll be ready sir... there is just one problem though. I seem to be missing my hypospanner, I don't suppose that you have seen it anywhere?=/\= "Regretably not Lieutenant, but I am sure that it will turn up", said the Captain, only to have the Andorian quickly interject. =/\=Hopefully without a winged cherrub in tow=/\= The Captain raised an eyebrow quizzically, then he closed the comm with a curt 'bridge out', before returning his attention to the Ops Officer for a quick rundown on their power levels. He noticed the newly transferred transported out with the others. It would be good to have some new crew but he was also worried about what they were getting them into as the Spectre was going to find the ship. He pushed those thoughts out of his mind as he nodded to the Dauntless senior medical officer. “Time to go.” He nodded and gave a slight wave as he bent over another patient. Andrew gave one last look round to make sure he was the last person and tapped his comm badge. “Williams to Spectre one to beam back.” (Reply any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Bridge – Helm – Pilot Officer Smith - 21:34) "Helm, make your course one sixty, mark two nine seven. Prepare to engage at maximum warp once our crew are back on board" ”Yes Sir.” Jennifer leaned over the helm console as the Captain began talking to other people on the bridge. She entered the coordinates into the computer which then plotted the course along the projected line until it reached the destination. She then double checked the plot and asked the computer to give the final confirmation. She accepted what the computer had plotted and brought the impulse engines up from idle to pre-engage. She would fire them up so that the Spectre was orientated right when they went to warp. She then tapped the warp engines and set them to pre-engage. She set the warp engines to maximum warp on a rapid acceleration so that when they were ready she could just tap a few commands and they would be off. ~Right then we are set. Lewis Blake - 21:35) Moments ago Lewis was contacted by the general announcement from First Officer Williams ordering all Spectre crew to return to the ship. Only minutes before, he was contacted by his supervisor informing him of his last minute transfer orders to the USS Spectre. The retrieval of all Spectre crew was sudden for him and he hoped he had not forgotten anything. The new Spectarian walked inside of his new quarters and dropped his long duffel bag on to the floor immediately behind the doors. He took a deep breath of the air from his new home. He looked right and left and realized that the setup of the quarters were similar to what he was used to. The only major noticeable difference was his new quarters was located in a place where the ship made a circular curve; Making the back of his quarters in a small curved shaped. He began walking through his quarters looking for the best place to put his only possession he was never willing to depart with. It was the very first thing he thought of when he was told he would be transferring. His family heirloom: a 1995 Fazioli pure gloss black piano. He had it dematerialized and placed in a dematerialize chamber; it now sat in a safe area aboard the Spectre waiting to be materialized wherever he chose, once he found such a chosen place. After a quick search through his place he went back to the bag he dropped earlier, to pick it up. He swung it on his bed and felt the engines of the ship roar to life. He knew the ship was under way. He believed that it was now safe for him to visit the Captain and not be interrupting. In the past day or so the view through the viewscreen had been very different indeed, where there should have been stars, there had been floating weeds and a few indiginous species swimming idly through the vast sea of Vedea IV's ocean. Hardly the environment a starship designer might envisage for one of his creations, but a fitting testament to it's durability nonetheless! Around him, the various officers continued at their respective consoles, a sense of anticipation within each of them now as they sped on to their ultimate rendezvous with the vessel that had been responsible for knocking them out of orbit, and into the sea itself. It was then though that the turbolift doors slid aside and in stepped the First officer with his report. "We are all aboard sir", he said, moving now towards his respective seat beside the Captain. "Excellent Commander, I trust that the Dauntless crew are bearing up well now that support has arrived", said the Captain. “I’m glad the Aggamemnon arrived", said the First officer, "some of the patients are touch and go but they should be stable enough until they get them to a proper facility.”, he added obviously relieved now that they were finally back under way again. "That is good", said the Captain, "and we have some new crew also, of which I must assess and meet more or less as we speak", he added, standing now to hand off the bridge to Williams in order that he could do just that. She said and waited for the Captain to respond; while she was, some thoughts ran through her mind and she heard her father speaking in her mind as she ran the conversation through her head, this is how the rift between them had initially developed. As she let her mind drift to five years previously, she heard her fathers voice in her head and his words to her. "Alex let me get you a diplomatic position within Starfleet, or let me put a word in" Her father said, he was still Ambassador to the Klingon Empire at this time. "At least let me put in a good word for you at the Academy" He added. Looking at him with fire in her eyes. "No father, I do not want to go into the Diplomatic Corps, I want action and adventure, and I am not you. Also thanks, but no thanks; I do not want to receive special treatment at the Academy. It's going to be bad enough among my peers knowing that I was born with a Silver Spoon and have an Ambassador as a Father. Do you have any idea how them knowing this will increase the difficulty of making friends? I will gather a sycophant following, I can see me having to bash those heads in, just to be treated like all other Cadets" She said, the look in her Fathers eyes was uninformative, with tears in hers she picked up her case and made it to the door before her Father spoke. "Remember Alex, be true to yourself, and you will not go wrong" He had said, but did not know if she chose to heed his Advice. ~Damn she is headstrong, and the way she stood up to me makes me proud~ Senator Gavin Smithson thought as the door closed behind his Daughter. So five years later here she was in front of her new CO and she gave a silent salute to her Father's last words. ~I remember your last words Dad, and I have lived by them~ she thought to herself, and returned her Attention to the Captain as he spoke. (Tag: T'Vhor) (Posted by Paul Davies) (USS Spectre – Captain's Ready Room – CO, Captain T'Vhor – 21:46) Finalizing a few of the reports regarding their recent crew transfers from the Dauntless, the Captain set aside the PADD containing them and then began perusing the departmental status reports. With the ship now under way again things were going as best they could under the circumstances, with an eager H'Chir back in the saddle so to speak and no doubt lovingly tending the ships engines. The Andorian would probably have termed them his of course, but.... It was then that the chime to the Captain's ready room sounded and the Captain bade the person enter. The doors duly slid aside and in stepped an Ensign in Tactical uniform, tall in appearance and her hair an unusual shade of red. Immediately she walked forward and then came to at the opposite side of the Vulcan hybrid CO's desk before announcing herself accordingly. "Ensign Junior Grade Alexandria Anne Smithson reporting Sir", she said brusquely. The Captain regarded her for a brief moment, the face and description matching up to one of the new arrivals he had only minutes beforehand been reading about in the transfer log. "Yes... at ease Ensign", said the Captain, "please, take a seat", he added motioning with his hand now towards the seat. The new arrival took the offered seat as directed, but her thoughts seemed to be elsewhere. The Captain allowed her that luxury though, after all, it wasn't in the slightest unusual for a new Ensign to feel a little unnerved upon first meeting their new Commanding officer, and this one seemed no different to that general rule. The Captain pulled up her record once again, persusing it for a few moments thereafter as though to allow her to gather her thoughts. "I see that you like to fight", remarked the CO on reading through her past accomplishments. (Reply Smithson) The Captain nodded accordingly. "I am well versed in the martial arts myself, a good quality for a security officer I might add", said the Captain, hoping now that his comments might put her at ease more so than she now appeared to be. (Reply Smithson) The Captain then read on, noting as he did so Alexandria's heritage and her father in particular. "I believe that I once met your father, a well respected man by anyone's standards, a little headstrong perhaps but nonetheless respected and an excellent ambassador", said the Captain. "I am well versed in the martial arts myself, a good quality for a security officer I might add", said the Captain. "Martial Arts always a good thing Sir" She dutifully responded ~shall I show that I am already at ease, or shall I retain my diplomatic training?~ She asked herself ~Nah! I will appear to be any normal new Ensign~ She finished her thought. The Captain continued to read on, then looking up at her. "I believe that I once met your father, a well respected man by anyone's standards, a little headstrong perhaps but nonetheless respected and an excellent ambassador", said the Captain. I was given a minor infraction for chucking that cadet into the water fully clothed, but after that, I was treated normally, also with a little fear. Especially when I made it clear I was a fully trained Warrior, trained by the Klingon's." With a little smile at that she continued. "So you see the reason behind my request Sir, I would hate to have to be brought up on charges for teaching another Officer the error of their ways. I am just laying the Cards on the table Sir, as a Diplomats daughter I learned that the hard way, if you do not make your requests or intentions clear, then troubles looms on the horizon." She said, now fully showing how at ease she was in front of her new CO ~I suppose I had better give him some comfort at his telling me about his Martial Arts background as I know it was meant to put me at ease~ She thought, doing so as she did. "Also Sir I am fully versed in Klingon Bat'Leth, Klingon Mek'Leth and Dag'TagH knife combat" Slightly shrugging "I could have gone into Starfleet Marine Corps with my combat skills, but I chose Fleet not grunt" She said with a friendly smile, mainly to show how much at ease she felt. He made very little preparations of his transfer to the Spectre; Due to the fact he didn't know about it until hours ago. He had a little trouble finding his personal quarters, but finding his way to the bridge was extremely easy. On any Starfleet ship all you needed to do was step into any turbolift and demand "Bridge." The new security officer tucked down on his tunic one last time and adjusted his collar. He began to take a step toward the doors moments before they split apart. The bridge was an inspiring view. He wanted to take a tour of each station, but he needed to report in to the CO. A few heads turned to look at him, but he didn't pay attention to them; Except for the gentleman sitting in the command chair. Viewing the pips on the persons collar he concluded that it was not the Captain but more thank likely the First Officer. "Aye," was the only response the Lt. had for the Captain at the moment. He was surprised just as much as the Captain was about the transfer orders. He had only known about the transfer a little less than an hour ago. Lewis was not happy about the Captain not being informed. It made him look bad on his first impression for T'Vhor, the last thing he would want. As he could see the situation he only had two very limited options: let the Captain know he knew moments ago about the transfer and assumed it was taken care of or apologize for the oversight and move on with his life on the Spectre. "Sir, I apologize for the mis-communication," he began with an apology. He thought that was a good start but then he changed gears. "I was made aware of the transfer only an hour ago, I assumed all parties were informed of the transfer," he finished. "I see", said the Captain, "do you have your transfer orders upon you?" The Lt. was a little startled by the response. What had the Captain meant by simply replying with 'I see.' It no longer mattered, it seemed the Captains was willing to move on, and so was Lewis. He would need to work hard to recover from this mishap. "Of course sir," Lewis broke from his at ease stance and brought his right hand around from his back revealing a PADD with his transfer orders. As it was though, the Lieutenants orders seemed to be 'in order' so to speak, the transferring officers signatory in place and the relevant listing filled accordingly. The Captain then placed the PADD back onto the table and glanced over once again at Blake as he sat their looking slightly unnerved right now. Elizabeth carried a carisack as if heading to a school lesson. Both twins knew that they needed to act perfectly normal if they were going to be pulling off their poltergeist pranks. They had read about these in one of their school lessons, and well, it would be fun. Ella put a small device on the side of the turbolift, and typed a number into it. The number was 11. The turbolift sailed quickly to its destination, no voice print on file for taking the girls there. Both of them knew they would have to communicate telepathically and trust the devices they had to get them to their destination. Coming back to the Quarters would be easier than getting there. Exiting the turbolift they took a quick left turn, ducking into a maintanence area. Ella used the same device to confuse the sensors on the hatch into 'forgetting' that it had been opened. Both girls slid into the jefferies tubes, used to navigating them as easily as they did the hallways. Beth opened the carisack and took out a tricorder that the girls hoped was configured correctly. If it was, they would be masked. If not, alarm bells would be going off and they'd be arrested as intruders. ::You know, there is a branch of Starfleet for this.:: Beth said as they crawled slowly along, ending at one of the verticle shafts Carefully they eased themselves onto the ladders and began to climb downward. ::YeahYeahShuddup.:: Ella sent back as she concentrated. ::I think we coulda taken the lift down to engineering.:: ::Where is your sense of adventure?:: Beth 'spoke' after a few breaths of climbing. ::I want to sit in a lab or on a bridge, not climb all over a ship.:: Beth hopped off and helped her sister at Deck 12. They had to cross the ship again to get to another shaft downward that should let them out three doors from the Chief Engineer's Office, if the ship plans they had 'acquired' were to be believed. ::Then you can do it. But I wanna be like Dad and explore.:: ::You didn't wanna do it before we met Dad on Geneva:: ::Thats not true! We explored all over the Starbase together.:: ::We were also eighth Beth.:: Ella was the ever practical one. ::Bleh. If you wanna turn around you can Ella but I'm gonna do this.:: The two girls were moving quicker than they thought they were and were soon climbing down another ladder to the engineering deck. ::I'll do it!:: A few seconds passed. ::You know what I wanna do?:: She asked rhetorically before continuing, ::I wanna visit the battle bridge and sit in the command chair. I know I can't but I wanna.:: ::Uncle Sash let you sit in his chair.:: Beth replied, sending the memory and the empathic memory of the pure delight that her sister had experienced. ::Yeah, I dream about it. I think I wanna command one of the medical research ships, and sail around the galaxy, answering emergencies. Captain Gabriella Wilson-Kirien, Captain of the... the...:: ::Oh uhmm, Marie Curie? That sounds like a good ship name.:: ::Yeah, that!:: She hopped off next to her Sister. ::Do you wanna do this part or should I? Both of us shouldn't.:: Reaching into the carisack Beth took out the wooden case, wrapped in a red ribbon, containing a set of replicated darts. The darts would, when examined, have the properties of the replicators of Starbase Geneva, and not that of the Spectre. ::Peek your head out Ella and if it's clear I'll go...:: Ella let the doors open and stepped out, now in the uniform of an enlisted crew member, her hair up. She looked closer to 18 than 16 disguised like this and no one paid her any heed. She moved over towards the Chief Engineer's Office, her tricorder recording that no one was inside. She moved over to a panel, shielding the door with her body as her Sister repeated her stunt. The girls were identical twins, identically dressed as enlisted crew. Within moments the dart box was on the CEO's desk and both girls were out, with hopefully no one the wiser. Like all best laid plans, they had forgotten about the cameras in Engineering - the computer recording the exit from the tubes and the entry into the CEO's office. One frame caught the details of Elizabeth. Soon the girls were back in their Quarters, sharing a glass of apple cider and giggling. How would the CEO take it, they wondered. ::Who next? The Counsellor?:: Ella asked, caught up in her sister's fun. ::I wish we could do the Captain but his Office is impossible to reach really without being on the Bridge and NO ONE is going to believe our borrowed uniforms there.:: Of that Beth was sure. ::Maybe we can get into his quarters or something and leave a present there...:: ::Well we'll figure it out. I'm kinda tired. Climbing up is much much harder than going down.:: Ella stretched aching muscles. ::Yeah we're kinda out of shape. We didn't used to be though. Get a shower, I'm gonna take a nap and think about how to get the Captain to smile.:: ::He's half betazoid. He'll know. He's sharp.:: ::Yeah but there are two of us.:: Beth replied as if that was the only thing that mattered. ::Surely if anyone can do it, we can.:: ::You don't think he'll be really mad, do you? :: Ella was better with consequences than Beth. She knew they'd be caught, it was a matter of time. Her sister, however was convinced they were invincible. ::Wha? Nah. It's not like he'll figure it out or anything. Relax, Ella.:: After a short shower, both girls curled up on a bed and began to plot their next 'prank'. On a pad in front of them was a PADD with the information on the senior officers. ((reply CEO, any)) ((posted by Mel <3 )) (USS Spectre - Ten Forward - Admiral Caladryll & Victoria (Vicki) Sevant - 23:14) Sevant rubbed the bridge of his nose as he stepped through the doors of Ten Forward. The sounds of the crew reached his ears as he looked up, almost nobody paid him any mind. That was exactly how he liked things, he'd always hated standing on ceremony. He'd done away with most of it as commanding officer of TF-19, he'd done much the same when he'd made the Spectre his flagship. It had been a long week. He'd been watching the Spectre's progress, how could he not, but he was not in command of the ship... and he had plenty of other things to worry about as head of Fleet Strategic Operations. The fleet was on the far edge of stable, nothing about Starfleet's current State-of-Readiness made the half-Vulcan happy. Sevant shook his head as he took a seat at an out-of-the-day table near a porthole where he could look out at the stars. "Hello sailor, lookin' for something?" someone with a crisp british accent asked from behind him. The Admiral rubbed his fingers together without turning, "A tea, served by a redhead. Sevant rumbled slightly. "Preferably warm, and served in a hurry." "Like the redheads, do you?" the woman asked as she moved to his side. Sevant looked at her and quirked an eyebrow slightly. "Actually, I prefer blondes." A light smack by the hostess prompted a small smile. Lieutenant Commander (retired) Victoria Sevant took a seat across the table and placed a small cup of tea on the table before him, she'd had it in hand the entire time, she knew his tastes. He wrapped his fingers around it and lifted it slightly in salute. She wore a mighty frown, "Blondes, eh?" Sevant's lips curled up by a millimeter as he took a sip of the tea. "Perhaps not." he finally said. "Especially if it means I'll be sleeping on the couch tonight." "It might." she said is a carefully cultivated tone that smacked of marital discord. He might have been worried, had her mental touch not been amused. One good thing about a Vulcan marriage with a part-Betazoid, the mental connection was ever-present. She leaned back, giving Sevant a moment to watch her movements, even after all these years he never tired of watching her. Especially when she was dressed casually, as she was now as a hostess. She'd only recently started working in ten forward, mostly as a way to pass the time. They were no longer at war, so it would have been difficult to keep her on the Spectre while he was an admiral if she were to reactivate her commission- not that she particularly wanted too. On the other hand, unlike most admiral's wives, she had very little to do in regards to his political career... he had none. He'd not yet thrown any kind of working dinner for the staff of the Spectre, he'd not stepped foot onto a Starbase since coming aboard, there was none of the busy-work that most Flag Officer’s wives could have taken part in. Working in the bar had been a natural thing for her, she enjoyed it. He had, in fact, met her in Ten Forward on the Boudicca. AT the time, though, he hadn’t known she was also an Operations Officer. Mei Ling had taken a perverse amount of joy in arranging their meeting. He put the mug back down, though he kept his hand wrapped around it for the warmth. After a few moments he asked, "How's it going over here?" She smiled impishly, but inside his mind her voice was more sober. Sevant was not a strong telepath, and Vicki was only a minor empath, but they'd never had trouble speaking to each other after the marriage bond had been created. :The usual worries, the crew is coming off of stress, yet figure that they're sailing into more danger. Facts are few, though.: :Which leads to more worry, of course.: Sevant supplied as he took another sip of his tea. Vicki's expression hadn't changed, and it wouldn’t, it wouldn’t do to be seen frowning with the Admiral - even if she was his wife. Such would lead to speculation and rumor, if anyone had heard his question to her. She looked up as the doors to Ten Forward opened again. "Duty calls," she said. Her impish grin returned slightly, "But I'm off in an hour Sailor. What say we..." she trailed off. Sevant quirked an eyebrow. "I'll have the vulcan chai ready." Vicki visibly shuddered, "You evil man." she muttered. She laid her hand against his, thereby letting the bond sing in both their heads at the physical connection, before she walked off to greet the newest arrival into Ten Forward. Sevant almost smiled as he turned his attention back to the stars, his wife was tolerant of almost everything he did culturally... but she could NOT abide vulcan tea, even if it was the first step to some of the formal Vulcan mating rituals. She knew it was a joke though, the only time Sevant partook in those traditions was the start of Pon Farr. He tapped his badge after long minutes of silent contemplation. "Sevant to Captain T'Vhor, will you be free tonight for a brief meeting?" NRPG: Up to you Alan. I looked through some of the emails and didn’t see him tied up at this time, but I’ve been wrong before. Tomorrow in-game will work as well. (reply: T'Vhor, any) (posted by Trout) (USS Spectre - Captain's Quarters - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 23:17) The Captain took a seat within his quarters, a number of reports on PADD's set upon the small desk. His mind wandered briefly to the ETHOS vessel and it's crew. Who were they exactly? Were there really that many officers out there still loyal to the Doenitz regime? Apparently so... T'Vhor allowed himself an uncustomery, heavy exhale as he settled back into his chair with a customery glance to the PADD's. The muscles in his neck and upper back ached now and he reached up and over his shoulder with his right hand so as to kneed them to some form of relief. It was at that precise moment though that his communicator chirped into life with the voice of Admiral Sevant... Strange, regardless of the fact that the Spectre carried the Admiral's flag, the man himself had kept himself pretty much out of the way the entire mission, unless of course, duty required him to intervene, which so far had been a minimal occurence. =/\=Sevant to Captain T'Vhor, will you be free tonight for a brief meeting?=/\= The Admiral had asked brusquely. T'Vhor looked briefly to the chronometer upon his wall and noted the time, then he replied in the only manner he knew how to, which was logically. "There is not much time left in the evening sir, but I am sure that I can accomodate your request", he said, knowing that Sevant, as a half breed Vulcan like himself, would not have been perturbed by his 'to the point' remark. The help he had from engineering allowed him to open up this new avenue of using the deflector. He was extremely grateful to have this completed and get some much needed rest, downloading the information he forwarded it to the Captain for his approval, looking at the time he knew his Captain would most likely be in bed, and did not want to disturb him for something that could easily be analyzed in the morning. Smiling to his counterpart, he nodded it was finally time for them to get some rest. “Ok Hightower get some sleep, I think we both need a little down time before we do any more.” (Reply Hightower) “Ok Goodnight.” (Reply Hightower) (Posted by Peter Richards) (USS Spectre – TAC/SCs Office - Acting TAC/SC, Lt Walker Isengard – 07:50) Isengard rubbed his weary eyes before taking a deep gulp of his coffee. Reports were piled up around him, things he was now completely obliged to look through and sign off on, as the department was officially his for the duration. He put the mug of coffee back on his desk before making a couple of notations on the PADD he was currently buried in. It joined the tiny stack of those already finished before he picked up another and started skimming it. ~I’m getting too old for this.~ he mused as he considered another cup. He would have to get a full days sleep after this shift, he wouldn’t have a choice if he was going to start preparing for searching the fleet telepathically. He let the PADD tip back as he leaned back in the chair and considered the Captain’s wishes. This was a course of action that could go very, very wrong. Not to mention the headache he’d have afterward. He frowned and made a fresh note off to one side of the PADD for upload to his personal database, the thought of combined training with the Marines had come to mind, it would have to be looked into later. He also made another note to find a qualified pilot who was esper-blind or who was good at keeping their thoughts to themselves. He was going to have enough trouble searching the fleet without being constantly distracted, and he wouldn’t have the concentration necessary to pilot himself. He would have to bring this up to the Captain soon, there would be other difficulties in picking a proper companion. He switched back to the report he was reading, mostly bios of incoming personnel. It was his job, and something of a personal passion, to know the people who were on the ship and any potential difficulties they might present. If there was anything Isengard hated more in this universe, it was being caught by surprise. He had his reasons. The chime to his door went off, and the door slid open immediately, permitting one of the senior NCOs to step inside. Walker had standing orders, from the time he was still an associate chief, that business matters should be brought immediately to his attention without delay unless he was currently in the office with someone else. He hated having to constantly say ‘enter’ to anyone who wanted twenty seconds of his time. The NCO came to loose attention before his desk, “Sir, readiness reports on second squad.” Walker gestured to the pile of PADDS already on his desk, “Add it to the pile Chief.” “Aye Sir.” The PADD went on the pile and the NCO left without any other formalities, leaving the Lieutenant to his business. Walker grunted as the door closed, “Frelling reports. I should have stomped on them before they bred.” (reply: any, none) (posted by Trout) (USS Spectre - Shuttlebay - CSO, Commander Sprak - 08:08) The shuttle door hissed open and Sprak strode out on the ramp leading down to the Specter shuttlebay. He put his fists on his hips and looked around with a large grin. Next he took in a deep breath and held it for several seconds before releasing it. With a small chuckle to himself, he stepped back into the shuttle and grabbed the tow rope for the anti-grav cart where several bags where piled in seemingly random mess. Sprak exited the shuttle pulling the anti-grav sled behind him. He waved at the crewman that were staring at him as he walked across the shuttlebay, grinning the entire time. "Excuse me there young lad," Sprak said to one of the crewman staring at him wide eyed, seemingly oblivious to the fact that he looked like a small child himself. "Um, yes?" the crewman asked after a moment. Blinking the crewman looked Sprak in the eye. "Do you think you could be a pal and take this sled to my quarters for me so I can report in to the Captain?" Sprak asked. "Where are your quarters exactly?" the crewman asked not sure if this was some kind of prank or not. "Well that, my dear boy, is a wonderful question," Sprak answered, "I'm not sure. I just arrived on the ship you see, on that shuttle right over there." Sprak just pointed back at the shuttle he had just exited before looking back at the crewman. "I'm Commander Sprak, you see, the new CSO. I'm sure they would have assigned me some quarters. At least I think they would." A perplexed look crossed Sprak's face. "Assuming that they knew I was coming, that is. Surely they would have assigned me quarters. But then again, if my arrival is a surprise, then they couldn't have assigned me quarters yet, now could they?" Sprak waved his hand dissmissivly. "Any way, I'm here now and will most certainly like some quarters. I would also like my stuff," He pointed at the sled behind him. "in my quarters. What good are quarters if you can't put your stuff in it?" Sprak smiled as he looked up at the dumbfounded crewman. He handed the tow rope for the anti-grave sled over to the crewman. "You find my quarters and I'll find the Captain," Sprak said. "I'll be along after my little chat with the Captain to make sure you haven't gotten lost." Patting the crewman on the lower back, Sprak exited the shuttlebay and moved through the corridors of the ship whistling merrily to himself. It wasn't exaclty 0800, but his orders were first thing in the morning; Lewis felt he was close enough to meet that standard. The meeting with Captain T'Vhor had gone well and he hoped for the same with his direct superior officer. Lewis pushed the chime button and to his surprise the door opened immediatly, as if someone had already greeted him into the office. He had, of course, memorized the ships lay out before his arrival so getting lost really wasn't a concern for him. He just loved to explore. Still whistling he stepped out of the turbolift and onto the Bridge. He let out a loud whistle of admiration as he looked around the Bridge. "Well would you look at all of this," He said with a smile. "Captain in his Ready Room?" he asked no one in particular, pointing at the doors to the Ready Room. Sprak waved at everyone as he moved across the Bridge toward the Ready Room doors. "Carry on everyone," He said, "I have an appointment with the 'big guy'." Sprak stood up on his tippy toes to ring the buzzer to the Ready Room. He giggled at the sound and tapped out a quick song on the buzzer while he hummed along merrily. *Buzz, buzz, buzz......buzz, buzzz.....buzz..buzz....buzz* As the door opened, Sprak tugged on his uniform top and strode into the Ready Room fearlessly, still humming a tune to himself. He had anticipated this of course, but what he had not expected was that the Lepracarian would also speak with the voice of a child, and that caught him just a little off guard! "Commander Sprak, reporting for duty Sir", he had snapped, sliding across a PADD towards the Captain for his perusal as he spoke with the shrill, unbroken voice of one that had yet to reach puberty. "Very good Commander", said the Captain activating the PADD and then settling back into his seat, and thus losing all contact with Sprak himself. "I'm sorry Commander, would you like to take a seat?", he offered leaning forwards once again in order to regain eye contact with the Science officer. Sprak wiggled his eye brows at the Captain as he smiled from ear to ear. "So, do you prefer the works of pre-Reformation T'Saural or the post-Reformation works?" Sprak asked sure the Captain would know the name of one of Vulcan's prominent musicians and philosophers from the time of Surak. (Reply T'Vhor, Any) (Posted by Wes) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 08:16) So, agility was a quality exhibited by Lepracarians also, indeed the CSO had performed the simple move of getting up into a chair with an almost gymnastic flair, logical as ever though, the Captain did not make too much of a fuss of the display and concluded that Sprak had simply sat 'up', rather than down. The Lepracarian though did not stop there, his beaming smile was a puzzle for sure, and when he then went off on a tangent regarding musical tastes and such, the Captain felt that he had to interject. It was'nt that he wanted to spoil the Lepracarians fun and games of course, it was all just... illogical. We are pursuing it you said. I assume there is a good reason for that. I have been unable to familiarize myself with the ships current mission status. Would you like to bring me up to speed or is there someone else you would like me to talk to? Perhaps I could add a new perspective and new insight to the problem at hand." (Reply T'Vhor, any) (Posted by Wes) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 08:18) T'Vhor had been mildly confused at the Lepracarians ways, it seemed that he was of the opinion that a Vulcan would just kick back, smile and then engage in idle chit chat about hobbies and pastimes before properly reporting in and discussing the roles of a Science officer. Had Lepracarians not had much contact with Vulcans perhaps? Either way, he clearly was'nt au fais with their typical, often unsmiling manner and adherance to duty. It wasn't that the Captain disliked discussing such matters of course, it was just that as a Vulcan, and therefore a stickler for rules, regulations and the correct way of doing things on a Starship, it just went against the grain somewhat. These things normally occurred any place else than the Captain's ready room. Nonetheless, Commander Sprak had seemed unphased at the Captain's lack of a formal sense of humour, or his refusal to engage in any other matter than formally reporting in, and had seemingly taken it all in his stride with a small shrug of his shoulders. "As you wish," he had said, before then getting down to the nitty gritty so to speak. To begin with, he had asked for more info on the Vessel they were currently seeking, then he had mentioned his inability to have familiarized the ships mission status before going on to possibly offer his own, new perspective on the matter. At least now he was talking shop.... "My thoughts precisely Commander, I shall have a full report on the ETHOS vessel made available to you. Shaking away the dregs of sleepless fog from his mind, he looked up to the ceiling, and thought of her…… It was a cold Ornaran night, the wind howled over the Gorean Vale, sweeping by the lowlands of Hethane plain and onwards, swaying trees in its path, rustling leaves into mini tornadoes. A sign in a back alley creaked as the chill passed onwards through and into the city. He walked alone in the darkness his footsteps echoing of the derelict buildings, his coat rustled as the wind passed down the alley and upwards over the rooftops. Still to this day people where given stark reminders of what those bastard Brekkans and they had done to their civilization, keeping them hooked on Felicium and living a life of luxury while his people suffered. The buildings long abandoned had no more use, in this quarter of the city; the inhabitants had not still recovered from the economic waste that had followed the wake of a life without drugs. Many such areas existed in the city, though the government made plans and where working on each area, there was so much to do, and so many people in need of help. That was the night Teverine met Perra, She was on her way back from a nightclub, dressed up to the dolls, he smiled at the memory of her staggering down the road, falling into his arms and giggling, she had the cutest giggle. Little did he know she had spied him as a mark long before in the bar another man to leech off, to help her feed her habit, though at that time the signs where not so easy to see. Yet to Teverine's memory she was as fresh and as beautiful as he could ever remember seeing anyone before in his life, he looked into her eyes and his breath caught at her beauty, the look of innocence in her face held him in a rapture. He fell in love at first sight. He remembered the smell of the street, and the intake of flowers as she fell into his arms, the sweet scent of her made his loins ache to be near her, he was a naive boy then so long ago. Teverine smiled at the memory of better times with Perra, when he was snapped out of his hazy memories with a chirp from the vid screen. Standing Teverine walked to the Vid screen, quickly tapping the command to start the transmission. Instead of a figure, a vivid hue of colours danced across the screen, Teverine watched transfixed at the screen as the colours danced in patterns, merging and multiplying, his eyes soaked up the image, something in the recesses of his brain seemed to understand something was happening to him. As the screen suddenly went blank, Teverine shook his head looking around in confusion, he wandered what he was doing standing up, shrugging he went back to finding the PADD to take to the captain with his ideas on. Perra walked with a purpose as she strode across the room, the time had finally come, she was prepared. She stopped in front of the desk and revelled in the scene below, a small console ready to transmit. The program had been written long before in readiness. Now was the time to act. Now was the time for everybody to pay. Then when she had repaid her debt, she would be able to settle down with Kos , she would make sure they would have to want for nothing more in life. She had even made arrangements for that. Perra pressed delicately on the screen, feeling the slight hum of the console below her, she let out a throaty sigh, finally it had started, now the true game had begun, she had plots upon plots, hatched for nearly every situation she could envisage, watching as her hidden transmission was received, soon Teverine and everyone around him would fall apart and burn in the depths of hell where they belonged.
