After completing her surgery, she had begun doing rounds with the Color II doctors. That had taken quiet a while due to the overwhelming number of patients in the hospital. Thinking to herself, Mia knew that she had made a decision, an important one and that she needed to talk to both Lizzy and Captain Capps about it. Suddenly, her commbadge activated, "MIA, You needed at entrance six next to the nursery there's a four year old code blue, no time for me to stabilize."??Recognizing the voice instantly, Mia tapped her combadge as she stood and said, “ I’ll be there in two minutes.” ?"Mia, I'm gonna anchor the child till you can get here and stabilize and operate... I will not let her die." Running now, Mia replied, “Lizzy, be careful. Stay with us.” ( Color ll - Triage Hospital – Ensign Emily Star - 1336 ) Emily had been transported down to the planet, however her timing at the Triage Hospital seemed to be lacking. She could feel the turmoil, however that was normal when dealing with high stress and emotional situation. Emily could easily push those emotions and block their effects on her own behaviors. However, the scene of the Doctor with the small child was...compelling and even she felt herself drawn into the emotion of such an event. Thankfully she had the ability to hold back, despite how she felt. This was not her crew just yet and it was not her place to interrupt. Glancing about the room, she assessed a number of different needs. However she could not simply just jump in. She needed to report in first. Approaching the CMO cautiously she spoke, "Excuse me, Ma'am. I am sorry to do this, as I assume it is a delicate time. Do you have a moment of your time to spare?" (Reply Mia ) (Posted by Lily Wood ) ( Color ll - Triage Hospital – Lt Jg Mia Saryn - 1337 ) "Excuse me, Ma'am. I am sorry to do this, as I assume it is a delicate time. Turning, Mia saw the young woman standing near her and said, “I’m sorry, who are you?” (Reply Star) Nodding, Mia turned to the nurse tending to the small child and said, “Take her into surgery and get one of the color doctors to work on her.” The nurse picked the child up gently and nodded. Watching as the child was taken away, Mia took a deep breath and said, “Ensign, next time you want to introduce yourself, for god sake, wait until I have finished with a patient. Is that understood?” (Reply Star) Turning back, she noted the physiology of the woman and said, “You’re part Vulcan, is that right?” (Reply Star) Looking back to Lizzy with a pang in her heart, she said, quietly, “See if you can help Dr Caspian. Turning back, she noted the physiology of the woman and said, “You’re part Vulcan, is that right?” "How did you.." She stopped, "Yes Ma'am." Emily had no idea what gave away the fact she was only a half blood. Her appearance was fully Vulcan. Well minus her lack of rigid attitude. Nobody had ever guessed straight off. It was...interesting. Looking back to Lizzy with a pang in her heart, she said, quietly, “See if you can help Dr Caspian. She anchored the child whilst I got here. Walking to her side, she whispered tenderly, “I’m here, hold on.” Kneeling at the side of the child, she opened her tricorder and began to scan the child. A number of thing popped up on the instrument that could cause the poor child’s pain. Groaning, she knew that more tests were needed and turned to the child’s parents and said, “I need to move her, to run some tests. Do we have your permission to do what ever it takes?” The man, obviously the father, nodded emphatically. Taking a breath, Mia pulled out a hypospray and turned to Lizzy and said, “Listen to me, I’m going to put her into a coma to stop the strain on her body. I will numb the pain but you need to let go. You can’t go with her.” (Reply Caspian) Holding the hypospray to the child’s neck, Mia said, “Ready, one... two.. three... The shuttle was smaller than he first thought so the task became much ,ore difficult logistical wise. He remembered in the war that tight spaces were a pretty normal situation transporting from ship to ship. This was a different situation and he would handle it accordingly. He started with the cargo bins. Beside the standard equipment, there was ample space to fit the Colorians along the sides of the bins and in open bins if necessary. There was also ample space for baggage in the transporter pad area. Since the trip was very short, he didn't see much of a problem of cramped space but made the necessary adjustments as needed. He stepped halfway out the shuttle door and called Blake that the shuttle was ready. "The Shuttle is ready for boarding sir. The shuttle will be ready to take off within 10 minutes sir." He went back inside the shuttle to continue the flight preparations. (Reply Blake) (Posted by Edward) (Shuttle Telar - Entrance Hatch - Sec Officer Lt. Lewis Blake - 1352) "The Shuttle is ready for boarding sir. The shuttle will be ready to take off within 10 minutes sir," Detron reported. "Thank you Lt.," Lewis said as he looked out onto the ridge that hid the campsite. He took in the moment for a second for behind the ridge also was the bright and large sun of this sector. He stared at it for a moment thinking back to the Sol sector and its sun. The warmth of the sun hit his skin and Lewis shuddered as his body heated slightly as if he had just snuggled under a blanket. The movement of the campers walking in a single file line toward the shuttle halted Lewis' gaze and brought him back to reality. "Here they come Lt.," he yelled behind his shoulder to the half Klingon. He stepped out of shuttle and waited beside the open hatch and welcomed the survivors inside. "It is going to be tight so get as close as possible." Some of the campers smiled at the Starfleet officers as they passed, others didn't even look at them. Instead they focused on the task at hand. After a minute or so, and everyone was packed like sardines, Lewis stepped in behind the last Colorian. It would have been smart of him to have been seating already because he was having to step over feet as he made his way to the pilot seat. He nearly stumbled into a few of the survivors laps as he past, but he finally made it without incident. Lt. Blake took his seat and checked his left board for readiness. Lt. Trei had already prepped the shuttle and the green light confirmed that. "Hatch locked, engines ready, lift off in 3, 2, 1, mark." With some smooth hand motions over the board the shuttle lifted and made its way to the capital. (reply any, none) (posted by Calvin Capps) (Shuttle Telar - Cargo area - TAC/S LT(JG) Detron Trei - 13.55) He directed the Colorians to place their baggage in the transporter pad in the back. There wasn't much baggage so it looked like the bags will fit with some space for shifting. He made his way to the Tactical Chair by way of dancing and stepping over Colorians along the way. Warrior training allowed him to be fairly nimble on his feet but the cramped conditions almost made him lose his balance a few times. When he made it to the chair and seated, he turned to LT Blake. "The bags are stored and secure. Ready for transport sir." He could see that the captain felt the same way about the security of the ships systems and made sure the security guard that Nickolas requested was promptly available. ~Good. That means I'm not late,~ he thought to himself. Three men appeared on the transporter padd in front of him. The two men in the rear were conspicuously over dressed in all black while Romanoff's friend and colleague had a little less formality about him. "Welcom aboard gentlemen," Romanoff greeted while shaking Sargev's hand. The three men stepped down off the padd and followed Nickolas' lead out of the transporter room. The security guard followed close behind. Immediately Sargev's companions felt the heat and whispered into his ear. He then in turn brought their concern to Nickolas' attention. "My companion's wish me to assure you that the need for additional armed guards is understood and appreciated but definitely not necessary. The transfer process will be 'uneventful' at best." Nickolas responded. "Protocols are protocols are they not? For an exchange of this sort the proper precautions have to be taken. Isn't that why your government sent them in the first place?" Romanoff did not have to motion towards the two men for Sargev to understand who he was talking about. Nickolas smiled, but he was unsure of his words. He didn't know how the others would take his response but nonetheless the group continued traveling until they reached the computer core room. (USS Boudicca - Computer Core Room - aCSO Ensign Nickolas Romanoff - 1527) All five of the men entered the room and the doors to the entrance swished behind them. For the first time since they got on board one of the Coloran security agents spoke out. "All none essential personnel must vacate this room immediately." Nickolas spoke up to remind them. "Again, the security guard is required to be here during the transfers." "We have accepted his presence," they said in unison, then only one continued, "we are referring to the five other people in the room." Nickolas looked around the room and counted only four engineers minding their business hard at work. He got their attention and motioned for them to leave. "There were only four others in the room," Nickolas said. "Corrrection," the second Coloran answered positioning himself directly in front of Nickolas. "According to Starfleet Security information previously obtained you, Ensign Nickolas Romanoff do not have the proper security clearance to be present during the data transfer. You are to be removed from the room and not allowed to enter until the process in complete." From nowhere he pulled out a padd and handed it to the security officer. There were orders that instructed him to remove anyone without the proper clearance. The officer read his orders and nodded, motioning Romanoff to exit the room without provocation. This was going to be one of those moments that could change her life. She knew, just as Saryn did, that the choice she had made and was about to discuss, that this was the right descision. Reaching forward, Mia pressed the console to announce her presence. (Reply Capps) Taking a breath, she walked into Capps’ office and said, “Sir, if you have a moment, I’d like to talk to you.” (Reply Capps) Nodding, Mia walked to the desk and sat opposite him and sighed. He was so enthralled in his work it gave him a slight startle. He hoped he would get used to the tone at some point. "Enter," he said as he shut down his console and waited to see who has come to see him. “Sir, if you have a moment, I’d like to talk to you," doctor Saryn asked. "Of course doctor, what can I do for you?" The Captain could see that this would be a sensitive conversation. He'd forgo offering candy. “I need to talk to you about something. No, that’s not right.” Calvin saw her close and open her eyes. He could tell that she was having difficulty. "It is ok Mia, what is it?" The Captain used a softer tone. He knew that it was important for his chief medical officer to have this dialog. “I need to ask you something.” Seeing that she was still having a little bit of a hard time swallowing her question he changed tactics a little bit. "Would you care for something to drink? I always find if I have something hard to say, that warming my throat with a hot beverage helps a great deal." (reply Saryn) The Captain walked over to the replicator and ordered one beverage for him and one for the good doctor. He placed both on his desk in reachable distance. "Please, go on." I believe no extended family have been found," the Captain was calling up the specific memory of the investigation. The girl's parents were unfortunately confirmed deceased. “Sir, i want to bring her home.... with me... and Lizzy, sorry, Doctor Caspian.” The sudden statement made Calvin sigh heavily. He placed his cup back down on the small saucer. "Is having a child something you have thought of before, do you believe you are ready?" Taking a sip of the tea, Mia smiled and said, “I’m sure. The Colorans went through great deals to make sure that all of the Boudicca's crew were as comfortable as possible. There were still very real threats of zombie attacks looming over everyone's head; at least there were still some diversions that momentarily took the mind off of worse matters. Ryan was thoroughly enjoying the meal that sat in front of him. ~Tastes great~ he thought to himself, noticing the difference in taste from the real food before him and replicated food he was used to eating on the Boudicca. His conclusion was that he was more than happy that he was eating great food alone with no interruptions, That was until he made the mistake of looking up and locking eyes with her across the room. There were about three vacant tables in between the two of them and yet it was not enough space to keep her stares from penetrating the invisible wall he decided to hide behind. Jericho was not the type of man to shy away from women, quite the opposite, but he just had absolutely no interest in the woman. Vela, on the other hand, made her attraction know from the first moment she laid eyes on him working in the triage hospital. Vela was the ministry of engineering lead engineer and was tasked as liaison to work directly with Jericho while working on the hospital. She was also very daring. On more than one occasion she openly countermanded orders that Ryan had issued to the mixed teams of Federation and Coloran engineers. Following that same gumption Vela picked up her meal and made her way to Ryan's table. She was even so bold as to sit directly next to him. ~OF ALL OF THE CHAIRS TO SIT IN~ he vented to himself. He purposely took another big bite as to lengthen the time required before he would have to respond to her. "I wish you would have told me that you were coming to eat. I would have joined you," she exclaimed. "It was intentional," he snapped back, "I would have asked you to come with me if i wanted to eat with you." Right off the back he knew that the words that escaped his lips were harsh, but he had enough experience with women to know that they sometimes needed their feelings hurt in order for them to get the point. Unfortunately, Vela was a stubborn female and she took his words as being more sarcastic than damaging. So she continued to eat and engage Ryan in conversation until the both of them were finished with their meals. Even after that she continued on about some of the finer deserts that Color II had to offer. He hoped that trying one of her suggestions would shut her up, but he would be just as satisfied if it changed his mood from complete and utter annoyance to a more fulfilled and complete demeanor. He ended up with a bowl in front of him with a four flavor swirl of ice cream. He made it his duty to eat it slowly and always have some in his mouth to prevent the promotion of an ongoing conversation. It was working to the degree that he did not have to respond to what she was saying to him, however, it did not keep her from continuing to talk. The truth was that the ice cream was actually very delicious but every trip to euphoria that came with each spoonful was abruptly interrupted by her nagging voice soon returned him to the same table where the two of them sat, alone. Soft music played over the bridge speakers making the bridge calm just how Shift Leader Ensign Lu liked her bridge. She sat in the command chair staring at the view screen. Its image projected the stars and the planet Color. Her thoughts were lost to the view of the mixed blue and red planet. She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. She hopped something, anything would keep her busy during these usual slow and boring night watches. But the event that is about to take shape would have been the last thing she really wanted to happen. The science console suddenly and loudly began to beep. The bridge warning red lights began to blink on and off all around. Tien jumped up from her chair and made her way over to the science console where it was being ran by Ensign Halls. "Chad, what do we have?" "I am not for sure exactly," he tapped a few buttons on his console. "It seems there is a gas being found as dangerous in the southern part of the colony world," Chad reported. "Can you identify the gas?" Ensign Lu followed up. Chad cross checked manually and allowed the computer to work with the sample readings coming in from the sensors. "Yes, it is..." Chad's mouth opened widely and his body was in shock. He quickly gained his composure hoping his Shift Leader didn't see him momentarily freezing up. "Terravere!" "Terravere," Tien repeated more to herself realizing what she was hearing and reading. "Pull up the protocol for that gas Ensign." She stood behind Chad as he pulled up the SOP for the gas Terravere. After quickly reading it Ensign Lu tapped her combadge. "No sir, the nerve agent was discovered by the sensors but due to its high radioactive makeup it has eluded the senors to its exact location. As the Captain returned back to his report Tien worked the console she now stood behind. "Bridge to all senior crew, report to the observation room at 0330 for an immediate briefing, priority 4." (reply all, Jacobs, Saryn, Caspian, Star, Noble, Trei, Jericho, Romanoff, Rinn, Puceanu) (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca – Mia’s Quarters – CMO Lt Jg Mia Saryn - 0250) A noise awoke Mia from her sleep. A trill that announced an incoming message, =/\= Bridge to all senior crew, report to the observation room at 0330 for an immediate briefing, priority 4. =/\= Reaching for the combadge that lay next to her bed, Mia tapped it and said, =/\= Understood. The call to the briefing had caught him in the middle of a climb on the holodeck. A pastime that he had undertaken during his days in the academy whenever he wanted to clear his mind and release any additional tension that had been building up over the last few days. He had also made it a habit to do so during the later shift times on the ship, in order to better guarantee that he had available holodeck time to himself. He had completed the climb in good time, run three kilometers and then showered before making his way to the meeting. He knew that whatever the situation was that had caused the Captain to call such a briefing in the first place at such an ungodly hour would be important. The alertness brought about by his climb and run would help keep him focused and ready for whatever happened to come their way. He moved over to the replicator and ordered himself a cool glass of Nectara juice, one of his personal favorites after a hard workout and settled into his usual chair which was positioned opposite the first office, placing him at the Captain's left hand. It was a position that until recently Jacobs had occupied as chief engineer, but with his promotion and Deynyk holding the next most senior rank on the ship due to his time in service, the seat had become his. He could still swear that the seat had not yet released the molded contours caused by the FO's backside quite yet, causing the seat to be a little uncomfortable. Still he figured it was just his imagination more than anything else. He shifted in his seat, to try to better the position of his own backside, while placing the glass of juice and a PADD on the table before him. A quick glance around the room at the other officers assembled told him that he was nearly the only one who was completely unphased by the lateness of the call. Various cups of coffee or other stimulant drinks were widespread and Deynyk simply nodded and smiled at the various officers as they made eye contact across the room. For him exercise was the best stimulant. He took a sip of his drink and turned to the captain in anticipation of the start of the briefing. (reply Any) Daniel Greene (USS Boudicca - FO's Quarters - First Officer Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 0300) The second day in his new quarters seemed to be more difficult than the previous. The bed he was now sleeping in proved to be a bit more comfortable but nonetheless, he could not manage to find a sweet spot in which he could fall asleep. This being the case he spent the majority of the night tossing from side to side thinking about the events from the previous day. Another thing that bothered him was the fact that he thought he developed a mild rash from the linens on the bed. It was his fault for not checking and changing the sheets before he laid down, so for the time being he would have to deal with it. The time he waited didn't last that long. Henry arose from his bed and walked over to his closet where he grabbed a uniform and placed it over a chair. He then walked into the bathroom and hit the wall panel and the room illuminated around him. Immediately he noticed tiny red bumps along the perimeter of his facial hair and hair line. Without being to dramatic he left out of the bathroom, put on his uniform and proceeded out of his quarters and down the hall to the turbolift. He entered as the doors swished open and swished again as they closed behind him. "Sick bay," he called out. The turbolift moved in response and opened its doors when it reached the appropriate floor. Henry exited the the lift and made a B line for Sick Bay. He walked in and thought that the room was empty. He called out and no one answered. He called out again until someone finally responded. (reply medical) (posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Sickbay- Ensign Emily Star- 0302) .....Silence.... Emily sat, head bowed and eyes closed, in a meditative state. Focused solely on that thought. Her breathing was calm, her pulse steady and her mind determined to clear itself of the emotions that invaded the delicate space. Slowly, as she meditated on her goal, the heaviness of the situation lifted. Normality returned as the seconds passed. From the quiet of her mind she heard someone calling out. An echo of a memory? She focused harder on the silence. She'd just endured thirteen hours of emotional people and hard situations whilst wrapping her head around what had happened on the planet itself. It was not difficult from a practical point of view to understand. The situation on paper was rather straightforward, yet the reality of it when you saw the people was something that paper couldn't entirely define. Again that voice called out. Emily slowly opened her eyes, brow raised at the interruption. Sure enough it was a person, not an echo and they were yowling like a cat for food. Standing from her crossed-leg position in a corner she addressed him. "Are you injured?" (USS Boudicca - Sickbay - First Officer Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 0304) There were two things that were going through Henry's mind. First he wondered why there was no one present to answer him. It is one thing if there was an emergency and the physician on staff was needed elsewhere but protocol would have been to activate the EMH and not leave the area unattended. The other issue he had was he had no idea who was on duty at the time. A mistake on his part. He was responsible for the duty rosters and it should have been his business to know who was on deck. He had called out twice and had not heard anything and so he made up in his mind to activate the EMH. "Computer activate the Emergency Medical Holo.." He was cut off by the answering to his previous queries by a young woman's voice. "Are you injured" "Not quite," Henry responded, not sure to immediately scold the unfamiliar face or approach the situation a bit more deftly. "Who might you be?" he asked. He looked in her direction looking to get a response but before she could formulate the words with her mouth an announcement came in over the comm system. =^=Bridge to all senior crew, report to the observation room at 0330 for an immediate briefing, priority 4.=^= Henry turned to leave Sickbay but hesitated when an image ran across his mind. He still did not know who the young lady was that had eventually acknowledged his presence but what he did know was that the emblem on her rank collar indicated that she was an ACMO. He did not know what urgency the meeting had but because it was priority 4 he would have her join him in the observation room. "Apparently there is no time for introductions but I will need you to join us in this meeting." He walked over to the doors and awaited for her to follow him out. (reply none) (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) USS Boudicca - Sickbay - Ensign Emily Star - 0305) "Apparently there is no time for introductions but I will need you to join us in this meeting." Emily looked the man over as he spoke. She noted his appearance, height and -most importantly- his rank. The pips on his collar alone should have caused her to be slightly reverent and partially compliant ...note the words 'should have'. He was a Lieutenant. There were lots of those around. His uniform was command colored though, a warning sign to keep her tongue in check. "Sir," She said quietly, brow raised and hands clasped politely in front. Emily pondered her words for a brief moment before responding, "Unfortunately I am unable to do so. You seem to be unaware of the fact that the Chief is on board and she will be there to retain the necessary knowledge to give to her staff. As you can see from the silence you received, there is nobody else currently here in Sickbay. I have to stay. It's a regulation thing. I'm sure you can understand that." (posted by Lillian Wood) (USS Boudicca - Sickbay - First Officer Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 0307) It was great that the ensign was steadfast to her duty and maintained the fact that she was on duty and in charge of sickbay. It wasn't so great that she blatantly objected to Henry asking her to accompany him to the observation room. "Apparently it was a mistake in skipping the introductions. You will have to abandon your post here because as First Officer I am ordering you to attend the briefing that the captain just ordered." (reply Star) He waited a minute to let his words set in. It was not his intention to use his position to intimidate anyone under his command, he just did not have the time to argue with an ensign who just recently had joined the crew. At least he believed she had just joined the crew. Henry had logged quite a few hours in Sickbay and in dealing with the medical staff, especially Mia and Elizabeth. The issue at hand was that he was still higher ranked than the ensign and without hesitation she should have followed the suggestion that he had made without having to make it an order. "I appreciate your dedication to your duty, it will be noted. Feel free to bring this up at another point and time, however, now we need to be present for the meeting." (reply Star) It was the first instance in which Henry had to use his tittle to get someone to do something that he ordered. Everyone else he had worked with seemed to find him easy to work with and had no issue doing what Henry said. He thought to himself what a shame it would be if he would have to deal with other crew members that followed suite with the young ensign. "And as far as leaving Sickbay unattended, computer activate the Emergency Medical Hologram." The computer complied and the holographic image appeared. "Please state the nature of the medical emergency," the holographic doctor dictated from programmed memory. Once again Henry motioned to the entrance of Sickbay and awaited for her to comply. She said while adjusting her relaxed posture to a more proper one, "I apologize if I was rude. I was...unprepared for your rather interesting entrance. Now , given I understand your position, I can see how you're allowed to walk around as if you own the place and I will make sure I accommodate that in the future." In the past, her father used to say that she had a way of being delicately rebellious. She took it as a compliment however her Father normally wasn't saying it in a proud tone, "I would be willing to come to the meeting, as you've said I am ordered by you and the Captain - which is more reason than I need but...."She shrugged, "My hands are tied...I'm the only one in sickbay." (Reply none, any iyw) (posted by Richard T) (USS Boudicca - Observation Room - First Officer Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 321) No one in the room could tell that Jacobs was fuming. He had no idea how the ensign had done it but she had pushed every single on e of his buttons from the moment they left Sickbay to the moment they both arrived in the observation room. There was absolutely no room for the kind of behavior that the ensign was exhibiting and maintaining such would surely land her in a world of trouble. He walked over to his new seat next to the captain only to notice that Lieutenant Rinn was now sitting the chair he had occupied as CEO. He took a seat and was overcome but the urge to glare in the direction of ensign Star as she took her seat at an end of the table where the other medical officers were seated. Not to long after Dr. Saryn arrived and Henry could only think to himself that he was justified in dragging the ensign from her seclusion in Sickbay to the current meeting. He watched Mia walk over to the other doctors and speak and then take a seat herself. Whatever the meeting was about he had hoped it would take his mind off of his current frustration. As he waited for Captain Capps to begin he could not help but drift off in his mind to try and calm himself down. In the farthest part of his mind Henry found himself right back in Sickbay waiting for someone to attend to his needs. First he saw Elizabeth walk over to him and grab him by the hand. She began to whisper into his ear but what she was saying was inaudible. Whatever it was she was saying sent a chill down his spine and caused all the hair on his arms to stand at attention. He pulled back from her and glanced at her as if to understand why she had said what she had said. All she did was smile back at him until she was interrupted by the entrance of Emily. She followed suite and grabbed Henry by the other arm and whispered something very similar in his other ear. In that time and place Henry saw nothing wrong with what was transpiring as if it was supposed to happen; as if he wanted it to happen. He felt the aftershock of what she said and and rode the rush of excitement until his eyes fell upon the final player in the fantasy. Mia walked up to him in a very sultry yet monotone manner making sure she never lost eye contact with him. She finally arrived in front of him and managed to place a hand on each of his knees as he sat on the bio bed idly being subdued by all three women. There was a flash of light and then suddenly all three women stood across the room from him. There stood before him three very attractive women in blue uniforms embraced with each other now apparently oblivious to the presence of the man that sat on the bio bed in front of them. Henry stood up and casually made his way over to the female huddle and was surprisingly rejected. He attempted to join in again when suddenly a light flashed around him once again. He returned to his present position in the observation room as if no time had passed and was drawn back to reality as the captain began the briefing. "Thank you..." the Captain said loudly to get the attention of the crew. "All for coming. I understand that it is early but I assure you this is important. A couple of hours ago the Boudicca's sensors picked up a currently listed banned and illegal nerve agent known as Teravere on the surface of Color II." Calvin pushed a command button on his nearby panel. Suddenly a 3D image of the nerve agents molecules rotated in the middle of the table. "Teravere is not natural, it was thought up by the Klingons. The first recorded use of Terravere was nearly 1 century ago. It was used like a biological weapon on a global scale. It was so dangerous and unstable it is only known to be used that one time on that level. To find this nerve agent here means there is someone responsible for creating it." The Captain paused to take a breath and to let the news settle in. "Teravere has also been known to be used to enhance and mutate the body in extremely small doses. Its overall effect causes DNA manipulation, body enhancements and has been reported to cause extreme violence, increased body strength and mental instability. Knowing this information, what we have seen here over the past week could very well be linked to the Teravere. However as of right now that will be our secondary mission." "Our primary, Starfleet strict orders mandate that we take the steps to find and disable the Teravere immediately. Because of its importance and instability I will be taking all of you to the planet to deal with this situation. I understand that it will be a larger away party than normal however, all of our expertise will be used to ensure our safety and return to the Boudicca alive. Precise information about Teravere have made available to you on how this nerve agent has been dealt with successfully. However we should all be ready for the unthinkable." Calvin looked around the room and then continued, "the scanners show that the nerve agent was found in the area where Lt's Blake and Trei rescued a few natives earlier. Those natives have been found and are being held for questioning since they were in such close proximity to the nerve agent. I would like to depart via transport at 0700 hours. Questions?" (reply any) (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca - Observation Room - COPS Lieutenant Deynyk Rinn - 0345) The Captain approved Deynyk's plan, authorizing the use of the C3BH suits for the away team. As they were going to be on a strict time limit, imposed by the need to get planetoid as-soon-as-possible, Deynyk didn't waste anytime in starting the modifications. He quickly typed out orders to his operations staff, with the details on how to modify the C3BH suits on his PADD and assigned it to one of the junior officers to oversee. He placed a deadline on the project for 30-minutes prior to the scheduled departure of the away team. By doing so, he guaranteed that everything would be in place in advance of the deployment of the away team. He then did a remote search for Terevere. It was surprising how little was actually known about the compound. It was fundamentally a rehash of the data that the captain had already shared with the crew. Basically it attacked the aggression centers of the brain as well as the subjects DNA, turning them into an ill-tempered super strong and highly aggressive killer. Used on a massive scale it would have the entire population of a planet killing themselves within a short period of time. The Klingons, who developed the weapon could then do as they pleased. The real question that bugged Deynyk was the length of time that it had remained obscure after it's first use. Over a century had passed since it's horrific use on a planet. The results were so gruesome that the Klingons locked it away. Why would it be here and why resurface after so long in isolation? Was it something that some one deployed? Or could someone have visited the planet where it had once been deployed and somehow brought it back with them? the latter seemed unlikely at least in the concentrations shown on the scans. That meant that someone was either manufacturing it, storing it or readily deploying it. None of those options seemed particularly pleasant. (reply none needed) Daniel Greene (USS Boudicca - Observation Room - First Officer Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 347) Jacobs was in totally agreed with what Mia had to say about preventing any exposure to the Taravere. What he did not know is what she meant by her team. Henry had already dealt with the newest medical 'star' and he was not pleased. If she would show that same type of defiance during an away mission he feared that she would not only endanger herself but also the others in her group. "Just who are you going to take down to the planet with you Dr? I know I don't have to remind you of how dangerous the Taravere is. I want to make sure those you take down with you are properly trained and prepared for whatever you may find." (reply Mia) "That all sounds well Dr, and I intend to hold you to that. Gather your 'team' we will be going to the surface in 45 mins!" There was definitely a firmness in his voice. The kind that let Mia as a woman know that he was standing tall in what he said and he would not back down from it or to her. He wasted no time in hoping that she would follow his order because he knew she would. He was coming into his own and he was glad that it was starting to feel more natural. He turned to the Captain, changing subjects and demeanor all in the same instance. "And what of our main mission on the planet Captain? Are we to abandon the repair of the hospital to take care of this current finding?" (reply Capps) "Very well we will have a report for you and make sure it is clear for everyone else to beam down to the location of the Taravere." While he was fixed on the new task at hand there was still something lurking in the back of his head. He had yet to tell anyone of what transpired the previous day with the secret security agents that boarded the Boudicca for the file transfer. He still did not understand why he had not had the proper clearance to participate in the transfer. He really felt silly about being expelled from the room on his own ship. The thought was nagging him to the point where he had to share the information with the others in the room. "I have something to add." Everyone's head turned as if to give him the floor. "Earlier today, or yesterday there was something that happened in the Computer Core room with the Colorans that boarded the ship.
