Stardate: 2406.11.11 (USS Spectre, Ready Room, CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 15.05) =^= Ronsworth to Captain Remae. =^= Remae was in his Ready Room, talking to the FO and 2O. "Ensign, welcome back. what can I do for you?", said Remae tapping his commbadge. =^= Aye sir it is good to be home. Geneva has procured a new runabout for the Spectre. I have the transfer forms and security codes for it. I'm going to have my ACSO deliver them to your office. The Cutlass is a fine vessel sir, I'm sure that she will be a fine addition to our shuttle fleet, Ronsworth out. =^= "Good work Ensign." The CO returned to his meeting but as he did so, he bought up the deck plans of the Spectre, space must be getting limited down in the shuttlebay. he remembered a time when a single runabout was a squeeze and now they had a couple of them and the usual shuttle complement. Remae made a mental note to the see the Chief Engineer about the limited size of the shuttlebay. (Reply from Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Spectre-Bridge- CMO - Williams -15.56) "Don't worry doc, It's alright, I haven’t played in months. So, 22.00, my quarters, and I'll help you through the game. In fact I'll forward some material on how to play the game to your office if you'd like." "That would be great." Andrew was glad of that. He did not want to make to much of an idiot infront of his crew mates. "Anyways Doc, I need to go over some system reports, we got a new runnabout in today, need to go over some things, but ya. Oh, if you know someone else who wants to play feel free to bring them along." "I'll see if I can get Warren out of sickbay. He has been hiding down there for ages." Andrew nodded his good by and went off to find the captain. (reply any) (posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre, Observational Lounge, CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 18.00) Remae was about to start the meeting, everyone had arrived and helped themselves to drinks from the replicator but there was one noticeable absentee, the CO would have to explain that, the mission and what was going to happen in the next few days. "Thank you all for coming." "Firstly, I want to mention that our First Officer, Commander Schofield has been reassigned and has already departed on his new assignment. From what I was told before he left, he has been assigned to Geneva to head up the new exploration task force.", said Remae clearly not happy with the situation. "Pierce, that makes you Acting First Officer, again.", Remae smiled briefly at the Head of Security, knowing how much he hated the command positions. (Reply from Orde) "While we're on the subject of roster rotations, I have the pleasure in informing you all that I am making Ensign Banowsky Third Officer on the Spectre. The 3O position will working in concert with his CONN and Operational duties.", smiled Remae spinning a PADD down the table towards the new CONN/OPS/3O with command codes for his position. "The position will mean that Mr Banowsky will learn all there is to know about Bridge Operations and Starship Command, Pierce, teach him everything you know about Command.", said Remae looking over at the assembled staff. (Reply from Orde and Banowsky) "Before I get onto the new mission orders, Ensign H'Chir, at last count we have two runabouts and several shuttles in the shuttlebay, it must be getting cramped down there. can you devise a system to maximize space. I was thinking that there is a lot of height in the bay but only one level, perhaps a lift system could be installed? Anyway, have your teams think about it and make some recommendations.", said Remae nodding at the CEO. (Reply from H'Chir) "Okay, let's begin.", said Remae standing up by the large computer screen on the far wall. "Our orders are to proceed to Sector 24613 and towards a Class Y Star, where, unusual sensors readings could indicate a ship or ships in the area, we've been ordered to sneak in and have a good look around.", Remae brought up a long range scan of the star, it was a nasty, brutal star, larger than most with a lot of solar flare activity. "You've heard of a Class Y planet, they are rare but they are nasty, the Class Y star is the same only 1000s of times worse, sensors will be unable to detect any ships until we get close." "We'll set a course shortly, 52nd Command has designated this a priority mission so we have to get there fast. Mr H'Chir, I'll need warp 9 for the next 24 hours and then the cloak has to be perfect, we have to sneak up to and even through this star without being detected.", said Remae, showing the course to sector 24613. (Reply from H'Chir) "Lt Williams, Ensign Bentley, I want Medical to work on protection for the crew in case the shields and cloak fail, if they do while we are close to the star, we'll need protection against the radiation.", said Remae sitting down again. "Mr Ronsworth, now that you are back onboard, I want to put your talents to good use, I want to enhance the passive and active sensors, so we can see trouble before we get too close to that star." (Reply from Ronsworth) "Pierce, warm up the weapons and post surprise tactical drills for the entire crew, I want us to be ready for anything.", he said, now sitting back in his chair. "Any questions?" (Reply from anyone with something to say or ask) When the questions had ended, Remae stood up and said, "Ensign Banowsky, lay in a course and engage at warp 9. Dismissed." (Reply from ALL) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Spectre-Observational Lounge-3O Ensign Will Banowsky - 18.00) Will entered the room and picked up a glass of water as he headed towards his seat and waited for the captain to begin the meeting. He looked around to see if there was anyone missing, and Will noticed that Commander Schofield was not present at the meeting. "Thank you all for coming." said Captain Remae as the meeting began. "Firstly, I want to mention that our First Officer, Commander Schofield has been reassigned and has already departed on his new assignment. From what I was told before he left, he has been assigned to Geneva to head up the new exploration task force.", said Remae clearly not happy with the situation. "The position will mean that Mr Banowsky will learn all there is to know about Bridge Operations and Starship Command, Pierce, teach him everything you know about Command.", said Remae looking over at the assembled staff. "I'm honored sir," Will said with a smile, he was now a member of the command staff. "I also look forward to working with Commander Orde." "Before I get onto the new mission orders, Ensign H'Chir, at last count we have two runabouts and several shuttles in the shuttlebay, it must be getting cramped down there. can you devise a system to maximize space. "Any questions?" “Sir in order to successfully navigate the star’s gravity wells and for me to successfully maintain the sensors in that kind of environment I will need to be at the OPT’s station… it is the only place with the kind of control and function to perform such a task. I deduce Banowsky will obviously be the helm when we arrive. I assure you that I am completely competent at OPT’s. Sir to do the task you have given to me I will need to be at that station. Miller will assist me from Science Two.” said Garry, the first of the officers to ask a question. "Only one problem with that, the OPS and CONN stations have been integrated into one station at the helm, to ease with my work in both departments. I can set up a secondary OPS station for you on the bridge. If this is ok with the captain." Will said as he replied to the Garry's question. (reply CO and any others with questions for the captain) When the questions had ended, Remae stood up and said, "Ensign Banowsky, lay in a course and engage at warp 9. Dismissed." "Aye sir" Will said as he got up and headed for the bridge. (reply CO and those with questions) (posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre, Observational Lounge, CSO Ronsworth - 18.05) "Mr. Ronsworth, now that you are back onboard, I want to put your talents to good use, I want to enhance the passive and active sensors, so we can see trouble before we get too close to that star." “Eye sir,” Ronsworth began to think of the ways to accomplish this. "Pierce, warm up the weapons and post surprise tactical drills for the entire crew, I want us to be ready for anything.", he said, now sitting back in his chair. "Any questions?" “Sir in order to successfully navigate the star’s gravity wells and for me to successfully maintain the sensors in that kind of environment I will need to be at the OPT’s station… it is the only place with the kind of control and function to perform such a task. (Reply from ALL) (Posted by Bobby Pirie) (USS Spectre-Observational Lounge- CMO - Williams 1806) Andrew was trying hard to keep him self from nodding off. even with all the caffeine shooting around his system he still felt him self nodding. "Lt Williams, Ensign Bentley," ~Oh crap what was that. The skipper is talking to me~ " I want Medical to work on protection for the crew in case the shields and cloak fail, if they do while we are close to the star, we'll need protection against the radiation.", said Remae sitting down again. Andrew nodded at the captain. ~Okay radiation procedures. This will be fun its very strong stuff. If I get it wrong there will be a lot of people with no hair, nasty blisters and infertile. Wonderful~ Remae said, "Ensign Banowsky, lay in a course and engage at warp 9. Dismissed." Andrew leaned over to Warren. "This looks like its going to be fun" he said dryly (reply Warren) He got up and headed towards sickbay. (reply Warren, any) (posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre, Observational Lounge, CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 18.15) Remae was taking questions after his part of the meeting had concluded. The Acting CSO had a question. "Sir in order to successfully navigate the star's gravity wells and for me to successfully maintain the sensors in that kind of environment I will need to be at the OPS station. it is the only place with the kind of control and function to perform such a task. I deduce Banowsky will obviously be the helm when we arrive. I assure you that I am completely competent at OPS. Sir to do the task you have given to me I will need to be at that station. Miller will assist me from Science Two.", said Ronsworth. The CO turned to the new Third Officer for a solution, Remae knew he would have one. "Only one problem with that, the OPS and CONN stations have been integrated into one station at the helm, to ease with my work in both departments. I can set up a secondary OPS station for you on the bridge. If this is ok with the captain." "It is, whatever it takes gentleman. Any other questions?", asked the CO. (Reply from anyone) (posted by TK) (USS Spectre-Observational Lounge - ACMO Bently - 1820) "This looks like its going to be fun" Andrew said dryly "I'm not really sure how much protection we can provide to the crew if the shield and cloak fail, isn't that when the ship explodes or burns up." Warren got out of his chair and trotted after Andrew toward sickbay ~I'm not too sure I like the idea of flying through the sun, I though the idea of suns was to keep as far away from them as possible.~ Warren had treated his fair share of burns, but he had never done any work on trying to prevent it. Though he was up for a challenge. (reply any) (posted by none) (USS Spectre-Bridge-3O Ensign Will Banowsky-18.25) Will had exited the observational lounge and headed toward the CONN/OPS station that was very familiar to him. It was also one of his favorite places on the ship. He relieved the current officer for a brief moment to lay in the course for the class y star. "Now remember," he said to the crewman, "We will be traveling at warp 9. I will be handling the night shift, but for now I want you to finish out your shift." "Aye sir," replied the crewman as he sat back down at the helm. Will then went to the science console on the bridge and sat down, and began working on it to turn it into a science/secondary OPS console for the use of Ensign Ronsworth while scanning the star. It would be an interesting trip, and difficult. But there was no doubt that it would be fun. (reply none) (posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre- CSO’s Office- Acting CSO Ronsworth- 20.30) Garry was in his office, he was getting tired. He had been filling out reports all afternoon, there were experiments to begin, and loads of tests to run on some of the new lab equipment. There were sensor calibrations to run and logs to be filled. Garry had only finished about half of his work. He leaned back in his chair. ~Glad to be home… home~ Garry sat back for a moment and thought. ~When did this place become home~ The Spectre was certainly a fine ship, her corridors were the same sterile bland that all of Starfleet had adopted upon founding. There was not really anything special about her other than the cloaking device. She was just your standard ‘Eu Ess Ess Fill-in-the-Blank-Here.’ He had been at the conference for all of a few hours, he had only been assigned to the Spectre for about a week, and yet Garry could not shake the warm feeling that he got upon seeing the Spectre when his runabout came out of warp. “Home” He didn’t realize he was speaking before he spoke. The word just kind of slipped out. The end of his shift was coming and the science department was going to shut down for the night. They ran no vital systems and none of the science officers were assigned any type of bridge duty. The science department could shut down and only need keep two shifts instead of three like the other departments. “Ronsworth to Banowsky, I’m going to shut down the labs in a few minutes.” (Reply Banowsky) “Well I need to schedule a meeting with you tomorrow. I want to start checking the calibrations on the long range sensors. I also want to help with the tests to be run on the Cutlass. She’s a fine craft with a good science package.” (Reply Banowsky) “Oh and Will… the containment fields that are currently running in Science Lab One… they are listed as priority one. It is vital that they remain stable. Please alert your staff. I don’t want charged antimatter blowing up some engineering dropout in a red collar walking into a self made deathtrap. Just kidding but seriously it is priority level one.” (Reply Banowsky) (Posted By Bobby Pirie) (USS Spectre-Ten Forward-Ensign Will Banowsky-20.31) Will was sitting at a table in Ten Forward enjoying a nice hot meal. He was relaxing and was going over the poker game that was in an hour and half. He was excited about the game, and the upcoming mission, he was also excited about the new ship. “Ronsworth to Banowsky, I’m going to shut down the labs in a few minutes.” "Banowsky here. Alright, Garry, anything else." “Well I need to schedule a meeting with you tomorrow. I want to start checking the calibrations on the long range sensors. I also want to help with the tests to be run on the Cutlass. She’s a fine craft with a good science package.” "I'll be on the bridge for most of tomorrow, but I'll be in Shuttle bay 1 at 11.00 hours looking over the Cutlass, so meet me there. We'll go over everything then." Will replied. “Oh and Will… the containment fields that are currently running in Science Lab One… they are listed as priority one. It is vital that they remain stable. Please alert your staff. I don’t want charged antimatter blowing up some engineering dropout in a red collar walking into a self made deathtrap. Just kidding but seriously it is priority level one.” "I'll let my staff know as soon as possible, however, I recommend warning whoever is pulling the night shifts to watch themselves, wouldn't want some guy in a blue collar who thinks he's better then everyone blowing himself up in his own death trap. But I'll let my staff know. Banowsky out." Will then pressed his commbadge, "Banowsky to all OPS staff, the containment fields in Science Lab One are priority one, keep that in mind, and keep up the good work." Will then went back to his dinner. (reply none) (posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre- Bridge- SFI Agent Aeryn Hampton- 2105) Aeryn was nervous about coming aboard the Spectre. She had heard of this interphasic cloak and she did not like the concept of it any more that a Vulcan liked the concept of a Ferengi businessman. She had read the report on this ship’s mission. They were en route to a Y Class Star. A terrible thing this star was, it was as if space and time had decided that a star was just not powerful enough. It had to be made more powerful. She made her way for the Captain’s ready room. She pressed the chime on the panel out side the door. The door whirled open and she entered. (Reply none) (posted by Bobby) (USS Spectre, Ready Room, CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 21.05) "Come.", said Remae. He was finishing up some work before calling it a night. "Agent Aeryn Hampton reporting for service captain, I have been assigned to the Spectre as liaison to Starfleet Intelligence. I have been informed by my superiors that I am to only observe and report on the Spectre's activities." The CO took the PADD and looked it over, "52nd Command informed me of your arrival, Ensign and I fought it, I don't want Starfleet Intelligence on my ship, even if you've decided not to join your counterpoints on the side of Earth and Admiral Doenitz. I don't trust you and I want nothing to do with you or your kind." Remae stood up to face the SFI Agent. "If it was up to me, Ensign, you'd find yourself on the other side of an airlock, but I have my orders, you'd better make sure you don't step out of line on my ship because I am going to be watching you very closely." "I know that your senior staff is quite busy but I must interview them. I will begin my reports tomorrow. I will go to their work areas and talk to them there so as to not disrupt the work schedule. I must get to know your team. Does this meet with your approval?" "Do I have a choice? Ensign? I've been ordered to cooperate and I indent to follow those orders.". said Remae struggling to hold back the anger. "Just think of me as a fly on the wall for now. I will minimize my presence while I am working. I report first to you and then to SFI. I want you to know that this is getting to be pretty standard; most of the ships in the 52nd Fleet have an SFI officer. My job is to literally ensure that all of your senior staff is loyal to the cause. Know that I am not here to investigate you. You have the Admiral's utmost confidence. It is some these newer recruits and crewmen that SFI has a hard time trusting. you understand." Remae shook his head in defiance, "I understand that you and your type don't trust anyone or anything. The enemy is out there, they have taken over Earth and turned the Federation against itself and we'll be lucky to survive, let alone put it right and you want to investigate the people trying to put that right. get out of my sight and you'd better keep out of my way as long as you are aboard, DISMISSED." The CO pressed a button and the door opened and Remae looked away from the SFI Agent, not wanting to look, talk or see her again. (Reply None) (posted by TK) (USS Spectre- CO’s Ready Room- SFI Agent Aeryn Hampton- 2106) “Agent Aeryn Hampton reporting for service captain, I have been assigned to the Spectre as liaison to Starfleet Intelligence. "We have a new officer onboard, a Starfleet Intelligence Agent named Hampton. I told LoDona what he could do with his SFI Agent but the order stands. The few SFI Agents around that didn't stay on Earth are being used to try and find out what Admiral Doenitz is up to and to find spies or leaks within the 52nd Fleet." Remae looked up at the officers, "Pierce, I want the Agent kept under 24/7 surveillance, Counsellor, I want you to dig up anything you can on her, where she was before and even anything you can read on her telepathically. whatever it takes to find out what she is doing here and what she wants." "Questions?" (Reply from Orde and Lronen) "Thank you, Pierce, keep her away from me.", said Remae as the officers left his Ready Room. (Reply from Orde, Lronen, Hampton, Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Spectre, Ready Room, COUNS, Ensign {SG} Divon Lronen - 2127) Divon hightailed it to the Ready Room as soon as he was called in. He listened to the Captain as he outlined his problems and... solutions... for the new SFI officer. Paul tapped his PADD. "We have a new officer onboard, a Starfleet Intelligence Agent named Hampton. I told LoDona what he could do with his SFI Agent but the order stands. I do believe that it should be necessary for her to submit to one, or I may have to confine her to quarters until she complies," said Divon with a wicked grin. If she submitted, it gave him a chance to figure out what they were dealing with, if she didn't she'd be out of their hair. This was a win/win situation. (Reply Remae) (Posted by Jeff Bergeron) (USS Spectre, Ready Room, CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 21.30) Remae listened to the Counsellor's recommendation. "Captain, I don't have a recent psych profile for our SFI Officer. I do believe that it should be necessary for her to submit to one, or I may have to confine her to quarters until she complies." "Hmm, I have to concur. Please arrange it.", smiled Remae. He understood the importance of everyone having to submit to the Counsellor, although he hadn't done so yet. He had the impression the good Mr Lronen had a memory that didn't forget that kind of thing. However, the focus was the SFI Agent, was she a threat and did she have a hidden agenda? One way or other, they were going to find out. (Reply from Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Spectre, Ready Room, COUNS, Ensign {SG} Divon Lronen - 2134) "Hmm, I have to concur. Please arrange it.", smiled Remae. Divon grinned back at the Captain. He knew he still had to deal with Ktell's profile as well... but that could wait. This would allow him to have some... fun. Divon tapped his comm badge. "Counsellor Lronen to Ensign Hampton. You are currently in violation of Starfleet protocols. Please schedule yourself in for a psych profile within the next 24 hours or be removed from active duty," stated Divon almost mechanically. Then he cut the channel before it was possible for a reply. She would have to schedule in through the computer... something that could be... taxing... as he was relatively full in terms of appointments for the next day. Divon knew regulations well and there was no wiggle room on this one. She wanted to be aboard a starship, she had to comply with the psychological rules. Divon would contact the Doctor later and see about her medical file. Divon looked at the Captain and smiled broadly, doing his best imitation of a Cheshire Cat. "Well, that should do it, shouldn't it?" he stated, "I should think that a member of the SFI should have an especially stringent psychological profile done. Wouldn't you agree sir?" (Reply Ktell) "I believe I shall use the V'doni test... it only takes 5 hours. Very comprehensive though," said Divon with a wicked grin. (Reply Ktell) (Posted by Jeff Bergeron) (USS Spectre, Ready Room, CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 21.34) The Counsellor was planning on arranging a little meeting with the Spectre's new SFI Agent. "I should think that a member of the SFI should have an especially stringent psychological profile done. Wouldn't you agree sir?" "Absolutely, in fact, given their position outside the normal chain of command, I think even more stringent tests need to be applied. "I believe I shall use the V'doni test... it only takes 5 hours. Very comprehensive though," said Divon grinning for the first time Remae could remember. "Go to it, Counsellor.", said Remae returning the smile. (Posted by Tony) (USS Spectre- Personal Quarters- SFI Agent Hampton- 2135) =^=Counselor Lronen to Ensign Hampton. You are currently in violation of Starfleet protocols. Please schedule yourself in for a psych profile within the next 24 hours or be removed from active duty,=^= ~That little weasel, Remae must have put him up to this ~ Divon, was the least of her worries. The star system they were heading towards would be her biggest priority. Still if that little boy running around pretending to be a counselor tried to stop her, he would have the Admiral to answer to for interrogation. If he confined her to quarters or take her off active duty she would have him brought in on charges for the obstruction of justice and failure to do his job in a timely manner. She smiled to herself. It wasn't much but still she felt like it was going to be a fun to work on the Spectre. ~He can try, but he doesn't have the testicular fortitude to take me out~ (Reply any, none) (Posted by Bobby Pirie) (USS Spectre - SickBay - ACMO Bently - 2200) ~An invite to a poker game, here is my chance to attempt to mingle with the rest of the crew.~ Warren looked up and the clock, "Oh crap I'm late" Warren ran out of sickbay and down the hall towards the nearest turbolift, it seems like forever but the car finally showed up. Warren hopped in and came to the realization that he wasn't sure on what deck, let alone what part of the ship Banowsky's quarters where. "Computer could you please take me to Ensign Banowsky's quarters" The turbolift started moving through the ship, a short time later it had deposited Warren on one of the decks and again the arrows to which Warren had become very familiar appeared along the bulkhead. Warren trotted along after them and rounded the corner to see Andrew walk into someone's quarters. ~This must be it, not remember you are here to meet people. He had invited the senior staff for a poker game, in part to get to know them better. He had some snacks out, because he did hope someone would came. The cards were ready, as were the poker chips. Will had played poker quite frequently at the academy and at college, but he was not that good at it, however he loved playing. The jacketesque part of his uniform was zipped down and he was silently waiting. He got up for a second and went to the replicator for a glass of water. He figured Garry would show up, maybe the doc, and Lt. Commander Orde seemed like the kinda guy to enjoy a good poker game. Perhaps even H'Chir would show up, although Will had his doubts. Will moved over to the table in his room where everything was set up and sat down. He began to play a game of solitaire while he waited. Of course if this failed, Will was definitely going to try it again with people in his department, at least then he could give them a direct order. Garry figured that it was just a nice gesture to bring your own booze. He stepped up to the door and rang the chime. The door whirled open and Will greeted him with a hearty handshake. It had a warp 4 capability, with ful phasers and a single quantum torpedo bay that was totally automated. Of course that, in itself was good and bad. Good, because this shuttle that was designed to hold up to 10 crewmen, could be manned by a single pilot. And Tahl was just that pilot. Tahl's first true love was flying, and he appreciated every opportunity he could take to pilot anything. But when Admiral LoDona gave him use of this little beauty, Tahl pulled out all the stops, giving it the full test treatment. The ship performed incredibly. it was fast and maneuverable. Small enough to be able to do some amazing moves, yet large enough to be a reasonable threat in a dangerous situation. It was designed after the Defiant class ships, and so had a similar look to it. As he flew towards his destination his mind played over the conversation with Robert LoDona. "I want you on the Spectre before they're out of range. I've already sent word ahead to Captain Remae, so he should be expecting you. Your "official" position will be interim FO, since I have just absconded with Remae's FO. He's exploring an uncharted system, and I want to know it's tactical possibilities." Tahl nodded, "Of course Admiral." He could see the Admiral waiting for something else. Tahl's reputation for being a smartass and a prankster was well known by those around him. LoDona was obviously surprised when Tahl's answer was short and to the point. Tahl downloaded the information that was being sent over subspace and signed off. He looked at the charts and saw a little short cut he could take and cut the Spectre off, even if they were traveling at warp 9, which is what they should be doing. Now, waiting for Spectre to come into his sensor range, he explored his lack of usual jocularity. He had been irritated with the Admiralty when they removed Alexandra Lowell, his wife, from her postition as CO of the Cochrane, simply because she was pregnant. Although he did understand their reasoning, it didn't hurt her any less. She was given the command of a smaller ship, in a, supposedly, less hazardous part of the universe. She had been on pure research and discovery missions. Which, truth be told, suited Alex much better. Of course, what they didn't know was that "safe" part of the universe was a hot bed of internal strife between warring worlds, that Alex got caught up in. Her ship hadn't been heard from in a while, and there was nobody that they could send out to search for her. It tended to pray on his mind. His melancholy was interrupted by a beep from the sensors. The Spectre had come in range. Tahl reached over and activated the comm channel. "This is Commander Tahlmari on the USS Beowolf," Tahl introduced himself in a general hail, "I need to approach your ship for docking. And I also need to speak with Captain Remae." (reply Spectre) (posted by Al Muir) (USS Spectre, Ready Room, CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 22.30) Remae looked around the Bridge, looked like everyone had departed for the evening, probably for the best. The ship was holding up well even though she was traveling at high warp when a communications channel opened. "Captain, a shuttle traveling at warp 4 just entered visual range, I don't recognize the configuration.", said someone at Tactical. "On screen, full magnification.", ordered Remae and the ship appeared on the view screen. It wasn't one Remae recognized, "Full scan please, I wantclear confirmation of the 52nd encrypted transponder signal." Remae wasn't going to be fooled again by a ship belonging to Admiral Doenitz but the scans came back with the correct codes, the shuttle was from the 52nd fleet. "Reduce speed to warp 3 and open a channel.", ordered the CO. =^= This is Commander Tahlmari on the USS Beowolf. I need to approach your ship for docking. And I also need to speak with Captain Remae. =^= "Commander, this is Captain Remae. (Reply from Security) "Engineering, we have a shuttle craft docking on the port side docking hatch, secure the ship and adjust our warp field, we'll be returning to warp shortly." (Reply from Engineering) "I'll be in the Ready Room, ask the Commander to join me when he arrives.", said the CO, standing up and heading for his office, this long day just kept getting longer. (Reply from Tahlmari, Security, Engineering, Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Beowolf- Ready Room- Commander Tahlmari- 2232) The visage of Captain Remae came on screen. Tahl had never met the Captain but he was well aware of the man's history. He looked a lot ... cheerier than he would have imagined. =^=Commander, this is Captain Remae. Permission granted, approach port side docking hatch.=^= Tahl nodded, "Thank you Captain, I will be docking in five minutes." He took his shuttle in a quick orbit around the Spectre, just to give it a once over. He appreciated the design of the ship. It was one of the few of her kind, with a special little twist, a cloaking device. That was not so unusual, any more, several ships were being equipped with them, like the Boudicca, but still it was a little out of the ordinary. Tahl was ready to dock and found the access hatch. With his usual deft piloting, he docked, feeling the slight jolt as his ship came into contact with his new home. He gathered his bag and approached the hatch. The door opened and Tahl stepped onto the Spectre. (Posted by Al) (USS Spectre- Docking bay- Commander Tahlmari -2337) As Tahl stepped onto the deck of the Spectre he noticed a small contingent of security officers. They hadn't drawn their weapons, but he could tell that they were ready to, if this went badly. Tahl nodded at the Lt. in charge. "Permission to come aboard?" he asked in standard procedure. "Permission granted Commander Tahlmari," the Security man replied. ~If that's who I really am?~ Tahl thought to himself, as if he were thinking the officers unspoken thought, and smiled. "I suppose you're here to lead me to Captain Remae." The Lt. nodded. "Then lead on, Lt, lead on." As they walked, there was an uncanny silence about the group. Tahl nodded at the odd looks from the crewmen he passed in the hallways. Tahl knew how unusual it was to see a new face, and to be that new face. The security team moved quickly and Tahl had to quicken his pace to keep up. "Sooo, Lt..." Tahl tried to strike up a conversation, "what's your name, or should I just keep referring to you as a nondescript security officer." The man turned to face Tahl, noticeably trying to hold back a smile, but not breaking his stride. "Lt. Carl Marks," he said, "with a K not an X." Now it was Tahl's turn to fight the smile. It seemed that Marks was a little sensitive about his name. "So what time is it here Lt. Marks?" "Almost 2345 hours, sir." "Whoa," Tahl said, "sorry to keep you guys up." "That's alright sir," Marks replied dryly, "we weren't doing anything that important." From that point the conversation ended, and Tahl just followed along. Soon the stood outside of Captain Remae's ready room. Marks indicated to the door chime and then stood on the opposite side of the door. The other members of his team just stood and watched. Feeling a little self conscious Tahl reached out and touched the chime. (reply Remae) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate: 2406.11.12 (USS Spectre- Deck Four, CSO Office- CSO Ronsworth and Agent Hampton- 0932) Garry was sitting in his office. He was filing the last bit of reports he was handed since his return to the Spectre. He had a lot of work ahead of him, he had to help Banowsky guide the Spectre through a variable mine field of gravity wells and distortion, and also all of the sensors were being looked over by his science officers. ACSO Miller along with the entire exobiology and stellar cartography staffs were down in the main deflector array checking the long range sensors manually. The rest of his staff was packing up the science labs then going to Main Engineering to assist the engineering teams in getting the Spectre prepared for the mission. His department was one of the systems taken offline during possible conflict situations. Sciences were not needed during a battle, if the need arose they could easily bring one of the labs back online to analyze something they discovered or destroyed. The chances of this happening were slightly greater on this mission due to the unknown nature of the location they were en route to at the moment. Garry was satisfied with the readings he was getting off the long range sensors and was about to join them in the array, when the most improbable thing happened. A figure from Garry’s dark past entered his office, it was Aeryn Hampton. The only woman Garry ever loved and the only woman Garry could possibly hate outright. “Hello Garrison.” She walked up to his desk as his jaw hit the floor. She was Starfleet Intelligence now. The white collar gave it away. “Well, you certainly have a lot of nerve coming here.” “I’ve been reassigned to the Spectre. I had no choice most of the ships in the 52nd have been assigned a SFI officer. It’s to check up on newer, upstart officers, like you. Why Ensign Ronsworth I’m beginning to think that you’re not happy to see me.” She walked around to his side of the desk and sat on the edge of one of its wings in a seductive manner. He stood up so as to reject her advances and walked to the replicator. “So are you going to tell me why you have darkened my door or are we going to stand here in ambiguousness?” He turned to her as she smiled, “Scotch,” the replicator glowed and produced a glass of scotch. He reached out to take the drink. “Well I have to make reports on all of the senior staff but I came to see you for a special reason…” she looked at him in a provocative manner. She pierced his mind. Her mental gaze tore straight his meta-conscientious. :: It’s about the Section. :: Garry stopped in mid sip. His scotch fell from his lip and the glass shattered on the floor. He looked up at her. :: You can’t be serious:: Garry brought the words to his mouth, “You bitch, how dare you bring that kind of filth into this office? I can’t believe you still work for them.” Garry kicked the broken glass out of the way, he walked up to the desk. Leaning on the side of the desk Garry spoke up, “Computer seal the door, containment alert… lock out everyone even ranking officers, report this lock down to me in twenty minutes. That should keep everyone out.” He looked at the blonde bombshell sitting on the edge of his desk. “Section 31 is a sham, an idealistic society of a few fools messing in affairs of which they have no business messing with. You realize I plan to report this to the captain…” She broke his block once again. She had been honing in her skills and he had not. She stared him down :: Perhaps not, but if you don’t aide the Section in this affaire then I cannot be responsible for your fate. :: “Stop it, get out of my head, it’s enough that that child of a counselor tries to break this barrier, I don’t need you waltzing into and out of it at will.” Garry said rubbing his head. “He knows,” she asked him with a confused look. “Of course he doesn’t know, we were in an accident remember. That is still the official line isn’t it? Or has the Section final taken responsibility, but wait that would mean exposing themselves and we can’t have that.” Aeryn looked at Garry; he was obviously being sarcastic. She knew he hated the Section, little did he know but they had been following him. Aeryn did not need her empathy to understand his emotions. Still she scanned him anyway. She continued, “Section 31 is very interested in what is orbiting that violent star, I cannot reveal anything else, and I’ll contact you if I need you… well when I need you. The Section hasn’t forgotten your traitorous ways; you will not cross us again. I might be able to give you a chance to redeem yourself.” “Well forget it, I stopped being a puppet a long time ago, my allegiance is to my captain and this ship.” Garry walked over to the corner of his desk where she was sitting, he grabbed her by the arm, and then through her off his desk. She hit the floor with a thud. She stood up, turned towards the door and said, “When the time is right, I will call on you,” Garry felt the rage fill his throat, “Get the h*ll out of my office!” She let a small laugh go and said “You locked the door…” she played his emotions right into hand. It was gratifying. “Computer over ride containment, unlock the door,” Garry sat back at his desk. Aeryn slipped away and out the door leaving Garry in a state of rage and confusion. ~She scanned right through my block, my meta-conscious is no where near strong enough to handle her. Thank God she can only communicate with me and the others from the accident, still she can read the others on the ship~ “D*mn it, she’s doing it again… not playing by the rules.” Garry turned towards the replicator once again, “Scotch… better make that a double.” (Reply any, none) (posted by Bobby P.)
