Remae looked at the Andorian, the statement took him by surprise but if he showed any emotion, it was limited. "Take a seat, Ensign,” said Remae, pointing at the couch. Whether or not the Andorian would take it, he couldn't be sure. He pulled something out from behind his desk and dropped it on his desk, close enough for the Andorian to see and take. "Help yourself,” said Remae and before H’Chir could say anything about the bottle of Andorian Ale sitting on his desk, he said, "I still have the occasional bottle stowed away from the Andorian Ambassador, I developed a taste for it over the years,” said Remae taking a small amount of the drink and then said, "Tell me what happened." (Reply from H’Chir) Remae listening to the CEO as he sipped at his drink, drinking on duty? Wasn't that un-Starfleet.? (USS Spectre, Corridor on Deck 12 – ACEO, Kyla Angeletti - 1402) Kyla strode slowly down the corridor, making her way to the turbolift. It seemed her work would be leading her to one of Spectre's other decks... finally. She hadn't spent much time exploring each deck. Usually she graced a new deck with her presence by taking a casual stroll through it. This time it was business. Kyla stopped at the turbolift doors and waited, all the while in deep thought, her attention on the reason behind an abnormality she had discovered while working on her assignment from H’Chir. The doors to the turbolift opened. Kyla stepped in and announced her destination, still wrapped in contemplation. "Deck seven." Her tone was solemn. As the doors slid shut, she sided her line of view to her left and noticed FO T’Vhor standing next to her with a distant look in his eyes. She gave him a polite smile and then turned back toward the turbolift doors and was once again deep in thought, this time wondering what T’Vhor was thinking. He seemed deep in thought, like he was trying hard to remember something that remained just outside the boundaries of his memories. Kyla's silent ponderings were interrupted by T’Vhor's sudden verbalization. "Ensign Angeletti, I have been asked to pass on the Counsellors compliments in regards the work you did in solving the turbolift problems", said T’Vhor. "That was quite a mess. It was rather tedious work entering in all of those codes, but it's just my job," she responded. "Nonetheless, the Counsellor was most grateful for your prompt attention", said T’Vhor, "he is also a little more relaxed too, much to the betterment of all around him I might add", he added. "Well, tell the Counsellor, it was my pleasure," Kyla said, her voice hinting at the frustration the turbolift had caused her, as she looked toward T’Vhor. She felt more at ease upon noticing a smile creep across the FO's face. His eyes Lead her to believe that he had been elsewhere in his thoughts, or possibly memories, during their entire conversation. It didn't bother her, and seemed not to be bothering T’Vhor, so Kyla didn't inquire anything. The turbolift doors slid open to Angeletti's destination and she nodded to T’Vhor before turning down the corridor. She made her way to the auxiliary power generators and began investigating for any abnormalities. Her tricorder read nothing unusual near the generators. Kyla furrowed her brow in confusion and closed her tricorder. She made her way to the access way nearest the generators and opened the hatch. Times like this made Kyla glad she wasn't any taller or heavier in weight. She hated how confined such spaces were. It made her feel uneasy, almost claustrophobic. She crawled in, took out her tricorder and began scanning her surroundings. The tricorder picked up an anomalous reading similar to the previous one that led her here. Kyla moved, hunched over, to the access panel, behind which was the problem that needed to be solved, and removed it. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Angeletti carefully scanned the area, one section at a time. Upon relocating her target she gently pushed aside some conduits and circuitry that blocked her view. "What the..." Again Kyla's brow furrowed as she discovered something she found interesting yet, at the same time, disturbing. There was some strange device planted behind the conduits. The readings Angeletti was getting suggested that this device wasn't using any power from the Spectre, which would make it nearly impossible to detect. It was emitting a frequency different from anything currently on board the Spectre. Kyla ran further scans and determined it to be an explosive device. Due to it's emissions, she highly doubted that this was the only one on board Spectre.... she couldn't help but wish she was wrong.... She managed to disable the device without much effort. Whoever planted it had obviously never intended it to be found, or they would have employed some sort of safeguard to prevent tampering. To avoid alerting any suspicions of something being wrong aboard the ship, Angeletti Had decided to inform only the CO or the FO in person. She had run into T’Vhor not too long ago, perhaps he was somewhere nearby. With that thought Kyla tapped her commbadge. "Angeletti to Lt. T’Vhor." (Reply T’Vhor) "Sir, I must request a private audience with you, as I have an urgent matter to address." (Reply T’Vhor) (Posted by Sondra) (USS Spectre, Bridge – StratOps, Commander Tahlmari - 1410)   "The USS Paladin is scheduled to attack Starbase 234?” said T’Vhor in an almost questioning manner. "That's right," Tahl replied, wondering if he should be letting T'Vhor see some of this information. "This will be a difficult target to take", said T’Vhor, "there is a blue giant in the vicinity, and it will have somewhat.... undesirable effects on any strike force attempting to take it, stealth will also be a difficult state to achieve." "Captain Straton is well aware of the difficulties that she has to face," Tahl replied. "She has her plan of attack, which will take all of that into consideration. I'm sure they'll manage without you." "I understand Commander", said T’Vhor. T'Vhor seemed to be fishing for something. He hated playing the beat around the bush game so he went straight to the heart of the matter. "So T'Vhor what can I do for you?" "Do for me commander?” said T’Vhor, "I was under the impression that you wished to brief me further on our tactical status in regards our current mission", he added. "Indeed, that was my purpose for having you down here," Tahl admitted, "however; you seem to be looking for something particular. If I knew what it was I might be a little more forthcoming." "I see", said T’Vhor. "May I speak freely with you Commander?" "Always," Tahl smiled. "I have noticed that you have appeared to be somewhat pre-occupied with other thoughts", said T’Vhor. "It is not my business to pry of course but I would like you to know that I am always here if you need to talk about those thoughts." Tahl was a little surprised by the offer. He had never been one to open himself up to anyone. Alex had really been the first, and the last. And T'Vhor, himself had never professed an open friendship with Tahl.   "As much as I appreciate the offer," Tahl told him, "I think that we have both lost something there." "It is true that we share a commonality", said T’Vhor. A false alarm was a beneficial distraction to the both of them. Then T'Vhor turned to leave. As he began climbing out of "the pit" he looked over at Tahl. "Commander", he said, "you have friends on this ship, please be aware of that." Then T'Vhor left Tahl to his thoughts. He looked after the FO for a moment. "Careful how you use that term," Tahl said to himself. "It can lead into all sorts of trouble."   At that, another alarm went off, and Tahl made his way to the console. With a sturdy thump, the alarm quieted, and the sensors began to look for the incoming ships.   (Reply none) (Posted by Al Muir) (USS Spectre, Outside StratOps Centre - First Officer T’Vhor - 1420) Immediately he had left the StratOps Centre after his meeting with Commander Tahlmari, T’Vhor's commbadge twittered into life. =/\=Angeletti to Lt T’Vhor=/\= "Go ahead Lt", said T’Vhor wondering what the Engineer might be calling him for. =/\="Sir, I must request a private audience with you, as I have an urgent matter to address,” came the response. T’Vhor paused briefly & then sensing the obvious concern in the Engineers voice he replied in the affirmative. "I can meet you now if you wish Ensign", said T’Vhor. "I am en route to Stellar Cartography as we speak, perhaps you can meet me there", he added. (Reply Angeletti, IYW) The FO then headed off down the corridor towards the turbolift & then on to deck 15. (Reply Angeletti, IYW) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Stellar Cartography - First Officer T’Vhor - 1425) The First Officer had never ceased to be impressed by the Stellar Cartographical equipment installed on Starfleet vessels & the Spectres was no exception. Entering the room, the panoramic view of space that was presented to him was an awesome vista & as he walked out along the cantilevered platform leading to the main console, he looked up to the projection unit high above as it displayed the last cartography scan against the curving glass looking out onto space. For a few moments, T’Vhor just stood & stared. A crewman working nearby nodded once in acknowledgment of the FO’s arrival as he finished off what it was he’d been doing, and then he left the room. Almost in passing, T’Vhor approached the console & idly began inputting a few coordinates into the scanning matrix, and then he raised his head to see the simulated view of a star being picked out & targeted before the view changed to a close up. It was quite beautiful, but then Betazed always was from space. A moment of sorrow & remembrance flickered through the FO’s mind as he thought of the devastation that now lay upon his mother's homeworld. ~What will we find when we get there now~ Then suddenly, the arrival of Ensign Angeletti broke his thoughts as she walked through the entrance door & on to the platform to meet him. Her face bore the look of a concerned individual; T’Vhor could sense her surface emotions immediately she entered. "Ensign Angeletti", said T’Vhor, "What can I do for you?" (Reply Angeletti) Immediately the Ensign had mentioned an explosive charge, T’Vhor knew that this was obviously more serious that he had at first imagined. "The device is now safe, yes? Have you told anyone else about this?” said T’Vhor. (Reply Angeletti) "Were there any indications in your scan that there may be more of these devices?” said T’Vhor. (Reply Angeletti) "It would be a wise precaution to repeat your scans at random intervals", said T’Vhor turning to look again at the simulated view of Betazed off to his right. ~Could the device have been placed whilst undergoing refit in spacedock~ T’Vhor paused deep in thought of the possibilities before continuing on. "The Captain will have to made aware of this of course, as eventually will the senior crew, I will approach Captain Ktell with the information & consider our options", said the FO. (Reply Angeletti, IYW) Ensign Angeletti looked out momentarily onto the projection all around her, then after returning her gaze towards the FO; she smiled once & then turned & made for the door. "Ensign Angeletti", said T’Vhor calling after her as she walked away. The Ensign quickly stopped & then turned her head in response. "Good work, I will be sure to mention your involvement in this to the Captain", said T’Vhor. (Reply Angeletti) T’Vhor then turned his attention back to the vista displayed all around him as Angeletti left Stellar Cartography. His mind was searching again, he thought of Betazed, he thought of his wife & their lost child, he thought of his responsibilities to the Spectres crew. His thoughts strayed momentarily to Ensign Angeletti & how she had reminded him of Krysta. He looked again to the console before him & then idly replotted the scanning matrix before watching the view spin about before him & centre on another target, this time it was Vulcan. T’Vhor furrowed his brow as memories of his father & the years of mental discipline he had undergone returned in an instance. The First Officer looked to the simulated display once again, and then he turned & walked from the platform & onto his duties. (USS Spectre, Ready Room - First Officer T’Vhor - 1450) The first Officer was now seated upon the rather worn sofa in Captain Ktells ready room. He had just appraised the man of the situation that had been brought to light by Ensign Angeletti "A saboteur on board the Spectre is now a distinct possibility", said T’Vhor. "If this is the case, we would not want to raise their suspicions that we are onto them, they might act.....,” said T’Vhor pausing to look for the correct words. "Irrationally & undirected", he added. (Reply CO) "Understood sir", said T’Vhor as the two men then continued their discussions over possible next moves. (Reply Angeletti, CO, Any) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Ready Room - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 1450) "A saboteur on board the Spectre is now a distinct possibility", said T’Vhor. "If this is the case, we would not want to raise their suspicions that we are onto them, they might act..." "Irrationally & undirected", he added. "Oh great,” said Remae putting his feet on his desk and leaning back. "So we find him and we have problems, we don't find him and we let him complete his plans,” said Remae thinking out loud. "Get Security onto it, place discrete Security in all vital areas and do it quietly,” said Remae lowering his voice so that no saboteurs could overhear him, which was unlike anyway. "Understood sir." "What else do you want to do?” he asked listening for the FO's recommendations. (Reply from T'Vhor) (USS Spectre, Ready Room - First Officer T’Vhor - 1451) The discussion regarding a possible infiltration of their vessel by an unknown assailant obviously did not sit well with Captain Ktell or the First Officer. "So we find him and we have problems, we don't find him and we let him complete his plans,” said Remae thinking out loud. "Get Security onto it, place discrete Security in all vital areas and do it quietly,” said the Captain. "Understood sir." "What else do you want to do?” he asked listening for the FO's recommendations. T’Vhor paused in thought & then he responded to the CO’s question. "Ensign Angeletti was of the opinion that the device might be rerouting signals also", said the FO, "It would be a logical assumption that someone may be monitoring these signals, I would like to initiate regular scans for EM & all relevant band emissions just to be sure", he added. (Reply CO) "Aye sir", said the FO as he turned & left for the bridge. (Reply CO) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Counsellor's Office - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 1615) "Although, this is the life we chose. Do you feel any regret about the choices you've made?" He sighed, found an appropriate seat and flopped into it. "Of course. Regretting sending people into dangerous situations that can and have caused deaths,” he paused, "Did you ever look up how many people have died since I have been in Command? A lot, I can tell you. If its not a telepathic killer pot plant, it's the transporter accidents, however, the choices I made are for the common good of the ship and crew and Starfleet as a whole,” Remae grimaced as the thoughts and memories of choices killed members of the crew came back, but, his conscious was clear. He didn't have long before he had to return to the Bridge but that was enough time for the Counsellor to ask a couple more questions before he returned to duty. (Reply from H’Chir, Lronen) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Spectre, Ready Room - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 1815) '. I would prefer the captain discuss this matter with H’Chir, however I will be forced to use my prerogative as ship's Counsellor to remove H’Chir from active duty if successful action is not taken.' ~ Ah hell ~ "T'Vhor, report to my Ready Room,” said Remae over the commbadge he had just tapped. A few moments later, the FO appeared. "In less than an hour, we'll arrive at the border but before then, we have another problem to deal with,” said Remae and quickly filled in the FO on what the Counsellor had said. "I don't see any other choice, collect Mr. H’Chir and take him to Doctor Williams, tell Lronen to meet you there, I will join you shortly,” said Remae. (Reply from T'Vhor) "As of now, the CEO is relived of duty based on the recommendations of the Counsellor. Tell Angeletti she is acting CEO until further notice. Dismissed,” said Remae gruffly. "Computer suspend Ensign H’Chir's computer clearance as of now,” said Remae and as the computer carried out the request, he was out the door and heading down Sickbay. (Reply from T'Vhor, Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Spectre, Ready Room - First Officer T’Vhor - 1816) The FO was most surprised the CEO had made a formal complaint, it was his experience of course that Andorians were often hot tempered & irrational but this seemed positively outrageous. What had the Captain just said, that T’Vhor had "Violated him"...... It was of course out of the question, T’Vhor had never violated anyone, he had always adhered rigidly to the moral laws of telepathic contact, on this occasion it would seem the detection of Ensign H’Chir's surface emotions by the First Officer on two distinct occasions now, had simply been an miscontruction on the Engineers part. And now the Counsellor had relieved the man from active duty. "I don't see any other choice, collect Mr. H’Chir and take him to Doctor Williams, tell Lronen to meet you there, I will join you shortly,” said the Captain. "As you wish sir", said the first officer. "As of now, the CEO is relived of duty based on the recommendations of the Counsellor. tell Angeletti she is acting CEO until further notice. dismissed,” said Remae gruffly. (USS Spectre, Turbolift 1 - First Officer T’Vhor - 1820) T’Vhor tapped at his combadge to open a channel, then he contacted each of the requested personel in sequence, begining with the Counsellor. "Counsellor Lronen, please can you report to sickbay in the first instance", said T’Vhor. (Reply Lronen) "T’Vhor to Angeletti, please respond", said the FO after the Counsellors response. (Reply Angeletti) "As of this moment you are now to assume the role of acting CEO, you are to assume all duties associated thereof until further notice", said the First Officer. (Reply Angeletti) The first officer then quiried the computer.... "Computer, report the wherabouts of Ensign H’Chir please" [Ensign H’Chir is currently located on Deck six in the ten forward lounge] (USS Spectre, Ten Forward - First Officer T’Vhor - 1822) As the FO entered Ten Forward, he scanned the room looking for the Andorian engineer, he found him at the bar, a glass of something or other directly in front of him. The FO paused briefly to assess the Andorians state, then he approached him. "Ensign H’Chir, I am to escort you to sickbay on the Captains orders", said T’Vhor. (Reply T'Vhor, H’Chir, Lronen, Remae, any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre, Bridge – StratOps, Commander Tahlmari - 1927)   "Hail the Asguard & the Bradley", said T’Vhor, "see what they know about this." "I'm on it," Tahl replied.   T'Vhor turned to Nollys, asking for a more specific determination of the type of debris. Perhaps even what kind of a ship that was destroyed. She announced her determination that it was some Klingon vessel. With that information Tahl went to work.   "I'd recommend transporting a piece to engineering, they might be able to do a more detailed analysis as well," Nollys suggested.   Both the FO and CO concured with her suggestion. Tahl continued to raise the either of the Starfleet vessels, but he was having no luck. Apparently, there had been use of some kind of scattering field, that leave a subspace residue, making communications difficult. Tahl tried to cut through the interference. "Have the Asguard & the Bradley responded to our hails yet Commander?" asked T’Vhor. "Not yet," Tahl replied, but I'm still working on it. There is a great deal of interferance."   "There could be some interference from the engine core of the destroyed vessel, it may be preventing contact", said T’Vhor. "Boost power to the communications array & keep trying." Tahl just nodded as he continued to work through his problem. He tightedned the signal feed and enhanced the subspace modualtion until, finally, success.   "Sir, I have contact with the Asguard", said the crewman manning the comms station. "On screen", said T’Vhor & the viewer suddenly filled with nothing but heavy static. "Can you boost the signal Ensign", said T’Vhor.   The ensign looked over at Tahl who shook his head. That was all they were going to get right now. "Negative sir, looks like it’s voice only for the time", said the comms officer as the voice of the Asguards Captain began filtering through. "Can you tell us what happened here Captain Renfrew?" asked the FO.   Renfrew began to give his report on the attack of an Akira and Keltoi class ship. They destroyed the Klingon vessel, but fortunately all of the crew was saved but the commnader. That was just as well, for he probably couldn't have lived with the dishonor. They managed to take out the Akira and ran the Keltoi off, after taking out their communications. "They will have attempted to contact other ships in the area, it is probably not wise to remain here", said T’Vhor. =/\=We shouldn't be bothered for a while anyway, the Keltoi is running blind, her comms are down so we should have a little breathing space.=/\= "Nonetheless, our sensors are being affected by the Moklars debris field, it would be unwise of us to become complacent", said T’Vhor. =/\=I agree, we are transferring relevant data to you now and are standing by to assist you, Renfrew out.=/\= T’Vhor then stood and made for the Captains ready room to appraise him of the developments. Tahl automaticallly went down to the command center. As the next ranking officer, he was in command. He figured that Remae had recieved his orders by now, and already began to make preparations to head deep into Doenitz teritory. In fact, the other side of the Alpha Quadrant.   He tapped his comm badge. "Tahlmari to engineering, I want the cloaking device runnning at 110%. It'll be under heavy usage for then next few days. Also try and increase the potential to the deflectors. I have a feeling that we're going to need them aswell."   (Reply H’Chir or Angeletti)   "No details yet," Tahl said, "let's just say that I have a feeling."   When T'Vhor returned Tahl nodded to him as he vacated the command chair. The FO gave his orders to send out sensor bouys, and Tahl knew that the orders had been cut. They were headed to Betazed.   "Looks like we're in for a fun ride," Tahl offered.   (Reply T'Vhor if you want) (Posted by Al Muir) (USS Spectre, Bridge - First Officer T’Vhor - 1950) On returning to the bridge after meeting with the Captain, the First Officer took the centre chair & immediately passed on the Captains recommendations to Lt Nollys at the science station. "Lt Nollys, can you prepare four class II sensor bouys & deploy then in a four point configuration surrounding our combined patrol zones", said T’Vhor, "we will want to know if anything is in the vicinity well in advance of it’s arrival", he added. (Reply Nollys) "We will be remaining on station until 08:00hrs tomorrow", said T’Vhor before turning then to the comms officer once again. "Inform the Bradley & the Asguard we are standing by to assist should they require our medical facilities", said T’Vhor in anticipation that their own might have been damaged in the exchange of fire that had claimed the Moklar. She liked science a lot, but it was times like this where she wished she were doing something else.   As her own thoughts started to drift away, T'Vhor brought her back to reality again. ~He has an uncanny sense of timing,~ she thought.   "Lt Nollys, can you prepare four class II sensor buoys and deploy them in a four point configuration surrounding our combined patrol zones", said T’Vhor, "we will want to know if anything is in the vicinity well in advance of it's arrival", he added.   Nodding her head, she said, "Aye sir," then turned back around to her station. After tapping a few controls, she said, "Alright...dispersing now. Buoy 1 is out...2...3...and 4." Looking at the viewscreen momentarily she could see the buoys being launched and travelling away from the ship. Looking back at her screen, she watched as all four took their place in a standard four point configuration.   "Commander, all buoys are in place, and are starting to transmit basic data."   <>   Nollys wondered what sort of information they would pick up on exactly. It was almost exciting for her to do this part of her job because it was like eavesdropping on other people, or watching them so to speak. But considering the circumstances in which they were doing this, Nollys only hoped for the best.   (Reply: T'Vhor iyw, any) (Posted by: Stacey) -USS Spectre Star Trek: Freedom - http://www.startrekfreedom.com
