What happened?~ For some reason, it hurt even to think. ~Was I drinking? No--wait, I remember. I hit my fragging head. And where did I dig up a word like "fragging?~ With a groan he forced himself to open his eyes and begin the process of getting up. It didn't help that the first thing to meet his gaze was a terrible mess. Boxes, clothing, something completely unidentifiable but which had probably been somewhat important to him before it was smashed...it took his throbbing head a few seconds to recall how that had happened. Not the racous drinking party, because he didn't actually have a hangover despite what his instincts were screaming. "I ehm NOT cleanink dis," he proclaimed to no one in particular. "It ken clean itself!" Somehow changing out of his rumpled uniform didn't seem as important as returning to the comfortable nothing of sleep. He rolled over, trying to find a place in his pillow that wasn't lumpy or too warm or otherwise unsatisfactory. Finally finding a position that would do, he closed his eyes and began to drift off... The door chimed. A bevy of incredibly rude things in several tongues shot through his mind, but he managed to restrain himself. All he actually spat out was a very disgruntled, "Blyaaaad!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stardate: 2407.02.01 (USS Mystique - TC Rosanov's Personal Quarters- Med Tech Iain Paton - 0747) Iain was on the final 'house call' of his shift and glad off it. It had been a long, long night and he was beginning to think longingly of his own bed, in his own quarters, with peace and quiet and no-one else there to tell him to do this, or do that, or go check on such and such a person and 'please give me an update as soon as possible.' He hadn't had much to do with the ACMO before, he had never been on many shifts with her but he was now totally convinced that she must be a robot. Well, at least that was the politest version of his thoughts regarding her. Somewhere deep down in his soul he regarded her as a cross between Colonel Green and Khan Noonien Singh and he looked forward to sharing these thoughts with his friends just as soon as he had managed to have a good long sleep. With that thought in mind he pressed the chime for the quarters he was standing outside just a little bit longer than usually would be polite. A muffled shout of "Blyaaaad!" met his ears and taking it as an invitation to enter he used the medical override code to open the door and step into the room. The first thing he saw was exactly the same thing he had seen all night. The wreckage of what had once been a probably pristine room. Noticing the absence of personal stuff amongst the wreckage he turned to the person huddled on the bed. "Chief Rosanov, I'm MedTech Iain Paton. Dr Vren asked me to check on you this morning. I believe you just came onboard yesterday. Be thankful that you haven't had time to unpack yet. I believe that the rest of the crew have lost a great deal of their personal belongings." (Reply Shurik) Iain had never been one for subtlety, or tact for that matter, so he totally misinterpreted the reply spat at him from across the room. "Yes I know and I'm really sorry to bother you but Dr Vren insisted that I check you out before I go off duty. You know what she's like. You don't, oh wow." Iain crossed the room and sat himself down on the end of the bed. "Well, the rumour is that she actually broke Lt Keswick's arm just to keep him beside her in Sickbay. If I was you I would keep well away from her. If you want my personal opinion, and since you are new I will give it to you. If you're ill go see Dr Trommashere. What ever you do steer well clear of Dr Vren. Seemingly I have heard that she isn't a real doctor and the only reason she was taken on by Starfleet is because they want more Bajorans in the fleet. The Bajorans were so keen to get rid of her I heard that they told her to either join Starfleet or retire." "Well, anyway she insisted I check you over, although given the fact that you are wearing a monitor you think that she could have just checked that on the computer. But hey, that's what we lackeys are for it seems." Finally Iain remembered to scan the Chief and checking the results in a somewhat desultory fashion he looked over at him. "You seem to have quite the headache there, I'll give you something to fix that and then I am heading back to my own bed thank goodness." Rooting around in his case he finally came up with the right hypo and pressed it to the Chief's neck. "There you go, that should fix what ails you fairly soon. Maybe I'll see you some time in Ten Forward and we can have a drink. See you." Just as Iain was about to exit he turned back to Shurik. "Oh, I almost forgot. Dr Vren wants to see you in Sickbay. I believe her words were....." and checking his padd Iain looked over at Shurik "..... Tell Chief Rosanov that I would like to see him after breakfast but before he reports for duty." "Sorry man, looks like you drew the short straw." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.01 (USS Mystique - TC Rosanov's Personal Quarters- TC Shurik Rosanov- 0748) Shurik watched as the medical officer entered the room, not bothering to focus his eyes, but instead allowing the man to become a blurred silhouette. "Chief Rosanov, I'm MedTech Iain Paton. Dr Vren asked me to check on you this morning. I believe you just came onboard yesterday. Be thankful that you haven't had time to unpack yet. I believe that the rest of the crew have lost a great deal of their personal belongings." Shurik looked at the thing that had smashed, still trying to figure out what it might have been and sat up out of politeness. "Lucky?" ~Who's lucky?~ he thought ~I've still got to pick this up and unpack it!~ His headache seemed as though it would last forever. "I tink I ehm concussed, I vant to throw ep all over da ples, end you tink I am lucky?" "Yes I know and I'm really sorry to bother you but Dr Vren insisted that I check you out before I go off duty. You know what she's like. You don't, oh wow." Iain crossed the room and sat himself down on the end of the bed. "Well, the rumour is that she actually broke Lt Keswick's arm just to keep him beside her in Sickbay. If I was you I would keep well away from her. The Bajorans were so keen to get rid of her I heard that they told her to either join Starfleet or retire." "I ehm so please to know vhat you thhhink!" Shurik hissed, paying no mind to how rude he was or wasn't being. "Well, anyway she insisted I check you over, although given the fact that you are wearing a monitor you think that she could have just checked that on the computer. But hey, that's what we lackeys are for it seems." Finally Iain remembered to scan the Chief and checking the results in a somewhat desultory fashion he looked over at him. "You seem to have quite the headache there, I'll give you something to fix that and then I am heading back to my own bed thank goodness." ~Agreed!~ Shurik wanted to pick him up and through him from his room, but he decided it might be unwise. ~Never how you'll run into him again.~ He thought, ~Don't want to make an idiot of myself when I'm not feeling so blyadski! If I ever feel better.~ Rooting around in his case he finally came up with the right hypo and pressed it to the Chief's neck. "There you go, that should fix what ails you fairly soon. Maybe I'll see you some time in Ten Forward and we can have a drink. See you." "See you." Shurik echoed as his headache began to sudside, "end danks." Just as Iain was about to exit he turned back to Shurik. "Oh, I almost forgot. Dr Vren wants to see you in Sickbay. I believe her words were....." and checking his padd Iain looked over at Shurik "..... Tell Chief Rosanov that I would like to see him after breakfast but before he reports for duty." "Sorry man, looks like you drew the short straw." Shurik groaned, trying to get the med officer out of his room. It didn't matter that it might be interpreted as an agreement with the man's assessment of Dr. Vren. It only mattered that he be left alone! "Good night!" He called as lain exited. He turned over to stare at the ceiling and found that he could coax himself back to sleep. Evidently, it was time for breakfast after all. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stardate: 2407.02.01 (USS Mystique - Ash's Assigned Cabin - (AOPS/CONN, Ensign) Ash Physioc -0759) Ash turned around as he heard a knock from outside. ~Finally...~ "Yes you can come in, i am decent...~ And have bin for over an hour...~ The door slid open and Ash nodded to the man, who just grunted "Follow us.." Ash followed them through the corridors of the Mystique until one of them stopped and hit a door chime. There was an approval of entrance by somebody inside. One of the guards entered and then Ash followed him in. The man named Riven as Ash remembered smiled at him and said: "Good morning Ash, do sit down on the couch if you please," he looked at the guard. "As this is voluntary I don't believe we need you watching over us." The guard shook his head. "I have my orders doctor, I'll try to make myself as unobtrusive as possible." Ash stood there as he looked at the guard. "Good Morning, Dr. Mias" Ash nodded and noted another person in the room. He looked at the woman, up and down. ~Hmmmmmm..~ He thought with a smile. He returned his attention back to the Dr. "Let's all get comfortable shall we?" Walking to a chair near the couch situated to the left of the door as one enters he sat. Ash nodded and walked to the couch and sat down with his legs crossed. He looked around the room. "And who would be this wonderful person?" He asked pointing to the woman and smiling. (Reply Regan/Riven) Ash nodded, "Ok." He closed his eyes and then opened his first shield around his brain. He felt somebody trying to get in all ready. :Hang on... I must take all of my shields down..: He thought not too sure which one of the Counselling staff were trying to protrude his brain. He concentrated on bringing the nest two barriers down.. :Now...: He thought so the telepaths in the room could hear him. He felt somebody sifting through his brain... He let the person go to work... Making sure too watch them as he wasnt allowing them into anything personal as he told the Commander.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.01 (USS Mystique - Senior Counselor's office - Dr. Riven Mias -0810) The chime sounded again and Riven looked toward the door, he could sense three minds outside, one of which was tightly shielded. "Come in," He said and sat back as Ash and one of the guards walked through the door, the other guard remained outside, just a few steps away if needed. Riven stood to his feet and gave Ash a welcoming smile. "Good morning Ash, do sit down on the couch if you please," he looked at the guard. "As this is voluntary I don't believe we need you watching over us." The guard shook his head. "I have my orders doctor, I'll try to make myself as unobtrusive as possible." (Reply: Ash, Regan) Riven shook his head, ~Oh well.~ "Let's all get comfortable shall we?" Walking to a chair near the couch situated to the left of the door as one enters he sat and waited for Ash to lower his shields. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.01 (USS Mystique - Senior Counselor's office - ACOUNS Ens(sg) Regan Alessi - 0811) The doorchime sounded and Regan sensed the three people outside the door, two were obviously some kind of security attached to the Mystique and the third...... the third was shielded tightly. She frowned slightly. Such a tight shield didn't quite ring true with the 'voluntary' scan. As a precaution she checked her own shields, forming a defensive barrier. Trust, she firmly believed, had to be earned. "Come in," Riven said and sat back as a tall, skinny, pale-skinned Betazoid male walked in with one of the guards. She assumed the other guard waited outside in case of trouble. Riven stood to his feet and gave the stranger a welcoming smile. "Good morning Ash, do sit down on the couch if you please," he looked at the guard. "As this is voluntary I don't believe we need you watching over us." The guard shook his head. "I have my orders doctor, I'll try to make myself as unobtrusive as possible." Regan found herself approving the guard's obstinacy, much to her own surprise. Normally she would have agreed with Riven but there was something about this Ash that made her uneasy, although she could not put her finger on the reason why. Perhaps it was his maintaining such a high level of shielding when surely if one had nothing to hide then a normal level would have done the job adequately enough. But that didn't explain the feeling she had that she had encountered someone like this before, although he was not at all familiar to her. His high shields diminished the aura she was used to perceiving around all those she met to a cloudy grey. But she kept her _expression friendly and concealed her thoughts and feelings well behind her own barriers whilst extending her own perceptions as widely as she could whilst doing so. Riven shook his head at the guard's reply, but said, "Let's all get comfortable shall we?" Walking to a chair near the couch situated to the left of the door as one enters he sat and they both waited for Ash to lower his shields so that the session could begin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.01 (USS Mystique - Senior Counselor's office - ACOUNS Ens(sg) Regan Alessi - 0812) Ash nodded at Riven's invitation to sit as he walked to the couch and sat down with his legs crossed. He looked around the room. "And who would be this wonderful person?" He asked pointing to Regan and smiling. Regan, who had not missed Ash's appraisal of her when he walked in, glanced at Riven then looked back at Ash. "I am Assistant Counsellor Regan Alessi," she stated calmly. "Dr Mias requested me to sit in," she added, watching him for a reaction if he showed one. She was still convinced that she knew him from somewhere but he seemed not to recognise either her face or her name, so maybe he just reminded her of someone. Ash nodded, "Ok." He closed his eyes and then opened his first shield around his brain. Regan sat back and waited for the other shields to go down, as they would have to if indeed he wanted to open himself to them. ::Now...:: Regan 'heard' Ash's statement, as did Riven. She 'saw' Riven begin to pick his way through Ash's mind, and followed cautiously, only to be brought up short by one of the foremost memories that seemed to be almost thrust at them. Ash watched with half lidded eyes as TQO and the Captain began to argue telepathically. Granting a non-telepath telepathic abilities seemed to have deranged the man completely. It was the same with many Betazoids whose abilities were awakened later or earlier than normal, but at least many of them knew that the possibility existed, and often had the help of some of the best mind healers on Betazed to help them handle the experience. ~But no one knew that the Captain would gain as much as he had from those drugs that TQO ordered to allow the two to form the bond needed.~Ash waited quietly, watching them close in on the Mystique, which had taken some damage. Some, yes, but they had taken more, but the ship was designed for that -- multiple relays that TQO could with a thought move conduits... Ash's orders were to create a distraction sufficient enough to allow the Mystique's Captain to mind-wipe TQO. This was suicidal for the one doing it, Ash knew. He also knew that he was going to die. Traitors were dealt with quickly in a battle situation. He would be dead before Montague was, with all probability. Ash stood up, using the pitching of the ship to allow him to tumble forward, in a controlled tumble. Quickly he dropped the two daggers, and threw thim - one hitting Montague dead in the throat, the other in his right eye. The ship was stock silent as time slowed and Montague tipped forward, his hand upraised, his mouth open, dead instantly... ~So you killed Alexis~ Regan thought numbly. She knew now why she had had the feeling that she knew Ash from somewhere - it had been from her encounter with Alexis, which she now knew to have been real and not a dream. And now that Ash's mind was opened to her and Riven she could perceive that same dark aura she had 'seen' through Alexis's eyes. Now that she saw it through her own perception she could see that it was not black, as Alexis had seen it, but shadowed through years of having to conceal his innermost thoughts and feelings from everyone around him. And he still was concealing them. There were some areas of his mind that were dark to her, although many others were clear. An attempted escape some time previously, recapture, the inhibiting of Ash's Betazoid skills as part of his punishment, years spent regaining the confidence of Admiral Doenitz, doing Doenitz's bidding, all the while biding his time... She wondered suddenly if they were only seeing what Ash wanted them to see. It was obvious he was a highly-trained and powerful telepath and she knew for herself how easy it is to allow others to see only what you want them to see and not what you don't. And yet... ...And yet, there were parts of her mind she would never open up to anyone other than her Imzadi, whoever that might turn out to be. Once she had thought it might have been Alexis, but events had proved her wrong. So perhaps Ash keeping part of his mind closed to them was neither more nor less than a guarding of that private, personal part of one's being that were not to be shared with all but only with that one special person in your life. Yet there was that one question that Commander Saleke wanted answered. Could this Ash Physioc be trusted? Regan wasn't sure she knew that answer to that one. Not yet. She wasn't even sure how she felt about the fact that he had killed Alexis. For sure Alexis most likely deserved it from what she knew of him but still... to kill in cold blood to create a distraction? She hoped Riven would have a more unbiased view of things than she felt she had. Her connection was too close to this. She pulled back from Ash's mind, careful to keep her own closed to him. ::Riven:: she sent tightly, ::Riven, we need to talk:: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.01 (USS Mystique - Senior Counselor's office - Dr. Riven Mias - 0813) "Good Morning, Dr. Mias" Riven could feel Regan's uneasiness as the one called Ash seated himself on the couch, "And who would be this wonderful person?" "I am Assistant Counsellor Regan Alessi," she stated calmly. "Dr Mias requested me to sit in," she added, watching closely for a reaction. Riven nodded casually toward her. "Regan will be my second during the scan to monitor our mental states in the unlikelihood something were to go wrong and to facilitate my withdrawal." The young mans mental shields were still firmly in place and quite formidable as Riven found out when he attempted a preliminary probe. From the resistance he found as well as the mental energy sensed behind the shields he was forced to the amazing conclusion that Aslitu Physioc was nearly as strong as Prince Hanaldine whom Riven had recently bested. Should he be careless in the examination he could leave himself at a disadvantage should Ash be deceptive. ~This one could be tricky.~ His face went from a smile to a look of determination as these thoughts formed in his own shielded mind, "Ok." :Hang on... I must take all of my shields down..Now...: Riven felt the resistance as he began sifting carefully through Ash's mind, the fact he wished to keep his memories private was understandable but not completely workable under the situation they were in. :: I need to see the memories about the assassination and sabotage.:: Riven knew Regan might not be too happy at what was in his mind on that but it had to be faced, should it be the same as what she had seen in her dream the uniqueness and importance of her experience would be confirmed. That wasn't the focus of course but it might provide some healing or closure. It didn't take long for the memory to surface, it practically leaped out at him and he could feel Regan following behind. The ship was stock silent as time slowed and Montague tipped forward, his hand upraised, his mouth open, dead instantly... :: So you killed Alexis :: Riven caught the thought from Regan as she was hit full force by the memory and he grimly knew what she was thinking, she HAD seen this, had seen it from Alexis' point of view. She had caught the fleeting remnants of Alexis dying thoughts and the short term memory as he expired with the evidences of his murderer on his mind. The veil cast over and shadowing many of his other memories was thick but there were others that he had access to, an attempted escape some time previously, recapture, the inhibiting of Ash's Betazoid skills as part of his punishment, years spent regaining the confidence of Admiral Doenitz, doing Doenitz's bidding, all the while biding his time... There was more he needeed however. ::You claim Doenitz sent you on a mission and in order to verify that I am going to have to isolate that memory... that and the ones regarding your investigation, otherwise you could be hiding something in order to decieve me, emotions are not completely reliable in this sort of an investigation.:: (Reply: Ash) ::Riven, Riven, we need to talk:: ::A moment Ash,:: Riven sent as he pulled back so that his and Regan's communication could not be intercepted, forming a tight connection between only he and her. ::What is it Regan?:: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.01 (USS Mystique - Senior Counsellor's office - (AOPS/CONN, Ensign) Ash Physioc - 0817) Ash had released him self to them, for the last few minutes they had been watching telepathically how he had sabotaged the Zephyr. He smiled as he watched it back himself, he didnt realise how well his pin point precision actually had been. He concentrated on the last part of his thought, as it finished. He kept his own thought behind a thick wall that nobody he had met had every been able to penetrate. So he could be happy or sad about someone seeing his thoughts and they would never know. :: So you killed Alexis :: The telepathic thought drifted into Ash's mind almost absent mindly like it hadn't ment too. ~She needs discipline~ He thought behind his wall as he recognised the thought pattern as the Reagan woman's. Ash smiled, she knew him. ~I wonder how close they were~ He knew Alexis had, had somebody before when he scanned him on behalf of Doenitz he had found that much out. But who she was or where she was. Was kept a mystery and it was one that he wasnt too bothered about. But now, he made sure it was his mission to find out how this woman knew Alexis. He concentrated on many memories, he couldnt show them all to him at once he tryed his best to put it in chronological order. His vision blurred until he finally saw his self in his memory... Ash was stood outside a tall black oak door. It lead into a museum facility. It was in San Francisco, and it was where Doenitz was hiding a secret science complex below it. He had been summoned there upon request of Doenitz himself. Ash was quite nervous, After his 3rd year of finally getting Doenitz to trust him enough to send him on missions again he couldnt mess it up again. If he was to escape it had to be a perfect plan, one that he could use. Ash quickly withdrew from the memory and then made a secure link between him and Riven and quickly thought ::Counsellor i dont know how much Commander Saleke has told you about my 'true' mission. I want to keep it fact to as few people as we can, Saleke agreed to this as long as i went for this scan that i suggested. I need to know how trustworthy your assistant is. Will she tell anyone of this?:: (Reply Riven) ::Ok, then i will continue.:: He opened his memory up from where he finished it. He smiled at this, he was quite gifted with his memories he could do allot with them, and too them. Although this particular one had been altered in no way so he would remember his 'objectives'. The doors opened emitting him into a large hallway filled with mueseam relics, Doenitz had brought to make sure the Science Facility wasnt found out. He walked through the hallway instinctively knowing where he was going. He didnt talk to anyone and he was aware of everything. He walked down a flight of curling stairs and then entered his command code into a command console, 554377893 01. It was the telepathic groups head code number that only he knew. He had risen back to the top of that group as soon as Doenitz began to trust him again, like he always had he had used that position wisely and began abusing it without too many people knowing. As he entered a code the metallic door opened up. He walked in to the security centre. It was strategically placed right by the entrance door to the Science Facility, it was so no intruders would ever be able to get in without using force. And if they did that the whole of San Francisco would be down on top of them. He nodded to the security guards in there, usually there were only maybe one or two of them in there, but today for some reason nearly the whole security division was. Ash made it look like he knew what was going on and just headed strait through, the security centre. He came to a ledge and looked out over the massive science facility below him. He saw the machine that Doenitz had all his temporal scientists working on, and then many other stupid things Doenitz had people making. Ash shook his head and made his way down to where he had been requested to go. As he stepped into the temporal office, Ash suddenly wasnt sure why Doenitz had asked to meet him in there. ~Hmmmmm...~ The door slid open and the almost bald man was stood there waiting for him. Ash had to stifle a smile as he saw the President wearing his black glasses again. He had to admit he thought the guy looked pretty stupid with them on, especially since Ash had rarely seen him smile. "Im here as requested, Sir!" He said in a command voice. He then smiled at Doenitz, trying to be friendly and brake the mans face into a smile.. but it didnt happen. A disappointed Ash stood there waiting for Doenitz to acknowledge him. "Lieutenant Commander i have some thing to show you," Doenitz said in an almost harsh tone. Ash wondered why he had called Ash Lieutenant Commander, he wasnt assigned to a ship. Whenever Admiral Doenitz gave him an assignment on a ship he went under the rank of Lieutenant Commander. When he was off ship or under Doenitz his rank was that of the Head telepathic group under Doenitz. Ash nodded to Doenitz without saying anything. Doenitz nodded to the temporal machine that his scientists were working on. "That Mr Physioc is our victory. A year from now, hopefully this machine will be operational and we will win this petty war against LoDona and his men. And we will be victorious." the Admiral said, repeating himself with the victorious several more times. Ash nodded, "This is... Good News Admiral." Ash said, telling himself to worry about it later. Doenitz nodded, "As long as you find out what we need, we should succeed" Ash looked at the Admiral confused, he had the feeling that Doenitz had one last mission for him. "And what is it you need me to find Admiral?" Ash said in a lightened tone, He assumed he would be getting onto a ship soon then since Doenitz had called him Lieutenant Commander earlier. "Ash, what i am about to tell you - is for you and you only." Doenitz said. Ash nodded to show he understood what Doenitz said. "The ship USS Zephyr is under the Command of Captain Alexis....." Doenitz rolled on, telling Ash what his mission was. Ash just stood there taking it all in, feeling that he would look over it later in his mind. To make sure he got everything. "The spy on the USS Zephyr, must be found out as soon as possible. I believe it to be a Telepath, which is why I'm sending you in. Further more, your mission wont be a success until you gain access and trust with one of LoDona's ships. You are to infiltrate the USS Mystique and report back to me using this frequency, each week with what you have found. Do you under stand, Mr. Phyioc?" Doenitz finished. Ash's emotions almost leapt out of him, he could have hugged the Admiral. He was actually giving Ash and escape route, handing it too him on a plate. "Yes Admiral, I understand completely. When will i be leaving for the Zephyr, Sir?" Ash said, holding his emotions in check. "1 hour, Lieutenant Commander. You will be going in as Chief of Operations and Conn. Don't tell anybody of your assignment, i am also giving you this." Doenitz handed him a PADD, "This PADD is an override for everyone on that ship including the Captain, you are above everybody on that ship. Anybody opposes just show them this, they'll understand immediately." Ash nodded and retrieved his mission orders and all other PADDs. "Dismissed." Doenitz said as he turned back to the development of his new found toy. Ash exited the temporal complex and kept his composure until he had left the museum. As soon as he was out of range, he ran home and began packing.... The memory blurred, that was as far as Ash would let them now it got personal. He blurred it into the next memory for them... Ash exited his runabout and stepped out onto the Zephyr's Shuttlebay. His ship took most of the space up, but he didnt really care. A security guard met him. Ash nodded to him and said "Lieutenant Commander Ash Physioc requesting permission to come aboard!" He said looking like he wasnt bothered by what the guard had to say. He kept his mind at bay and searched the whole ship to find the captain. He noticed several distinct Telepathic members on this ship and decided his mission would only be a success if he could fool them all. The guard nodded to him to tell him he could. Ash gracefully accepted and then dismissed the guard, and made his way to the bridge. As he entered the Command Bridge of the Zephyr, the captains head swivelled around. ~Ahhh so this is Alexis...~ "Lieutenant Commander Ash Physioc, Reporting for duty, Sir!" Ash said as he stood at attention, and then said. "My orders, curtsy of Admiral Doenitz." Ash said as he handed the man the PADD. Alexis took them and quickly skimmed them. "Ahhhh so we finally have our Chief of Operations and Conn, Welcome aboard the USS Zephyr" Alexis said, Ash nodded and then followed the CO into his ready room.... Once again the memory blurred... There was no need to go any further.... Ash was sat in the dark in this quarters a month after his arrival on the Zephyr. He was transmitting what he had found to Admiral Doenitz, admittedly it wasnt allot but Ash had his orders. The Admiral's face popped up on the secure channel. "Mr. Physioc, you are to mind sweep the Captain. I must know what he is hiding. You will show him the PADD i gave you and tell him i personally requested it just to make sure he is in the clear. BUT Ash, i will make it clear to you. I want every inch of his mind checked, no exeptions. The Zephyr will also be meeting the Mystique within the next week. I am making sure of it, this is your chance.." Ash stared blankly at the screen. "But, Sir. The telepathic moral laws.. they dont allow this... it's such an intrusion." Ash said trying to convince Doenitz otherwise. "You have your orders, Lieutenant Commander. Doenitz out." Ash heard through the screen. And it suddenly went back to what he was viewing, beforehand. ~Oh deary me...~ Ash got fully dressed and then made his way to Alexis's quarters. He opened the door using the command codes Doenitz had given him. Alexis was awake, god knows why it was past midnight. "What... How?" Alexis shouted as he jumped up in surprise. "Dont be alarmed..." Ash said, as he explained everything Doenitz had told him to explain and then handed him the PADD.... "Ok, fine do it" Alexis said... Ash closed his eyes and reached out.... Ash pulled the memory away now, ::Sorry, but i cant show you anymore. I wont progress any of Alexis's inner most thoughts. But needless to say he had allot, and a week later we met up with the Mystique:: ::Riven, Riven, we need to talk:: Came a voice through the link. It was the woman again. ~Now what does she want...~ ::A moment Ash,:: Riven sent as he pulled back. Ash sat there quietly as he emerged from his telepathy re-raising his many barricades. He waited for Riven and Reagan to emerge from telepathic communication. Ash made no attempt to listen in. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.01 (USS Mystique - Deck 3, Hall - Commander Saleke -1055) Saleke strode lithely down the hall till coming upon a pair of guards standing outside a door, nodding at the guards he turned toward them and the two men stepped aside. "Commander." "Mr. Kires," He returned the greeting. "I am here to see Lieutenant Moto." "Of course Commander, he hasn't moved or made much of a fuss since he was placed inside, his breakfast was delivered a couple of hours ago." Saleke could see the man had more to say but had stopped deliberately. "You have more?" Kires gave an almost comical look before saying. "He's a bit of a surly type Commander, don't be surprised if he's not a congenial host." Everyone knew Saleke was always unfailingly polite and it was sometimes possible to forget the backbone of steel sometimes that he carried. Only for an instant though. The Vulcan merely nodded at the mans comment. "Intriguing." As though he was ready to explore strange new territory and examine a predator that had had its teeth pulled and was declawed. Kires fell in behind Saleke as he stopped at the door and pressed the chime to announce his arrival. (Reply: Moto) "Commander Saleke." he said before stepping through the door which opened for him smoothly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ end compile
