Schafio , 1930) ==================================== "Ach!" Ryko said, reflexes forcing him to draw his hand away from the dish. He'd burnt his finger making this meal, but he had vowed not to mess up. Yalta had shown him her family's delicacy, now he was going to show Yalta his. He sniffed the happily simmering seafood / chicken mix. "Mm, smells good," he said to himself, adding a little extra salt. "Well that's all i should do, just leave it to simmer." He checked the time and decided it was time to prepare for Yalta getting home. He went into the dining area, and placed the two twirling cream candles in position in the middle of the table. A long white tablecloth adorned the area, complete with silver cutlery and of course china plates. He inhaled. "Computer, adjust ambient room scent to Ilaxian Spice Orchids," he said. The computer complied and Ryko happily inhaled the air. It reminded him of their first date. "Dim the lights," he said. The computer had evidently not been programmed with human romance. The room became pitch dark. "AHEM," he said, and the lighting raised to just the right point. ~That's better.~ The dining room was perfect. He inhaled again. The orchids mingled with the smell of the dish on the stove. Ryko hurried into the small galley area and turned it off the heat. He stood back, and looked around the newly-constructed area. It had taken him a while to replicate the things he had needed, he'd requisitioned the stove from the mess hall, but everything else was replicated. It had been expensive but worth it. To him, no good home was complete without a Kitchen. He Took two serviettes and carried the dish of Paella into the dining room, setting it at the table's centre on a special mat, he left a serving spoon in there and went back into the living area. He found the note he had written for Yalta. He checked it. "Something special tonight," it said. "I hope you're hungry". He finished it off by wrapping it in a red ribbon, then slipping a rose into one of the bows. He placed the note on the door of their quarters, then went back inside and made sure all was ready. ~Calm down, everything's fine,~ he thought to himself. He checked the time. Yalta was off duty, she would be here in minutes. He sighed, and made sure he had left her a clear path to the dining room. The lights in every place but the dining room were at a minimum, just enough for her to see her way through. Ryko went in and waited for Yalta to arrive. ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Deck 3, crew quarters - 2120) ==================================== Yalta arrived in front of the door and saw a note with a rose as an officer pass by with a crooked smile on his face. She read the message and smiled, she was starving. She entered the quarters and the first thing that hit her was the smell of food.. “I see that you were busy!” She took a few steps inside. Ryko said one thing. "You haven't seen nothing yet," he said softly. "Follow the light." “Alright!” Yalta followed the light and arrive at the table, it was all setup for a romantic diner. She look at Riko who had a rose. “This look wonderful.” She walk the few steps separating her from him. Ryko kissed her, at the same time giving her the rose. "I hoped you'd like it. “I think I will, this smell makes me feel more starved then I was before. What is on the menu?” She took the rose and smell the perfume. "You showed me one of your favorite meals, I'm showing you mine." Ryko said, leading her to the table. He pulled the chair out so she could seat herself, then he sat opposite. "Go ahead, try some," he said, resting lightly on the table. Yalta sat and look what was on the plate. She took a couple of pieces and put her in her mouth. “Humm, that taste good... what is it?” "Its a traditional earth dish," Ryko said. "Spanish, called Paella, and it's been in my family for Generations." “Paella... it's really good, a bit spicy, I like it.” She smiled. “It's been a long day, I thought for a moment that it would never end.” "I know what you mean," Ryko said, helping himself to some food. "I never thought I'd get out of sickbay, and on top of that I had to assign the captain a pair of babysitters," Ryko said, laughing. “We are not right now in a good situation, but at least we are alive. But what is this all about? Why were you in sickbay.” "Can't really say," he said. "Classification and all that, but lets say it has something to do with this weird Psychic mumbo jumbo that's going on," Ryko said. He ate some more and looked at Yalta. "But it's all worthwhile if I come home to you," he said, absently continuing to eat, never taking his eyes off her. “I see.” Yalta could imagine the rest on her own, so she decided to close the subject. “Yes... I agree with that, at the end of the day, it's good to see a familiar, and loving face. Computer, some ocean music please in the background. What is the plan for the rest of the night?” "Well, I'm technically supposed to be ill," Ryko said, finishing off his plate. "So I could use some loving attention.” he said, leaning toward her a little. “You suppose to be ill... how?” Even if it worried her, she smiled seeing him lean toward her. Ryko decided he might as well tell her. "You know I'm half-betazoid, right?" Ryko said. “I know... yes.” Her blue eyes look into his, she couldn't help the smile on her face. Ryko smiled too. He knew that Yalta was the first person he could trust. And this was the first time he'd told anyone such a big secret. "When I was 11, I had my mental abilities blocked. I felt it was better to trust my instincts. I was afraid I could hurt someone with my "talents." About 3 days ago, the blocks in my mind broke down. I've had them temporarily replaced. As soon as this mission is over, I'm going to get Psyker lessons from Counselor Alizara," Ryko said. He hadn't told anyone about this, except for the counselor herself. He leaned in closer and took Yalta's hand in his. "I'm supposed to be resting," he said, kissing her hand. "But to tell the truth I've got too much energy," Ryko finished, still holding her hand. “I can see that in your eyes, but those lessons and why did this mental block decide to crack now.” Yalta wondered and squeeze his hand in hers. Ryko's hand ached a little when Yalta squeezed it but he ignored it. "I suppose I've been suppressing them for too long," Ryko thought. "Plus it's been over a decade since those blocks were implemented," Ryko said. "I decided it was time to harness my abilities," Ryko said. He took her other hand and returned the affectionate squeeze. “If I can help you study... you know I'm there.” She smiled maliciously. Ryko's lip flinched. Yalta was playing with his hand. This meant war. "Ya better stop that, or I'll tickle you again," he said, smiling mischievously. “Stop what... Honey.” She was already wanting to laugh. Ryko laughed too. "Trying to squeeze my hands off," he said. He moved his wrist and, almost as though she wanted him too, began to caress that spot on the back of her neck. “You know all my weaknesses.” She pass her arms around his neck enjoying the closeness. “So... now, what do we do? You need to relax and you are the one making me feel relaxed.” she back a little squeeze just a little his shoulder before passing her arms around his neck again. “You are a bit tense.” "Mhm," Ryko said, closing his eyes. "I could use a massage," he said, relaxing. Yalta got up and took Sky's hand. “I think that diner is over... come with me then.” Ryko still didn't open his eyes and let himself be led by Yalta. "Yes, m'lady," he said, smiling again. Yalta bit her button lip, she stop him at the door way of the bedroom. “Wait right here for just a moment.” "Your wish is my command," Ryko said wistfully, and leaned against the doorway. Yalta went to the night stand on her side. Open the meditative lamp rock, it gave the room an amber glow. Then the little fountain, the sound reminded her of her house. She pull the drapes over the bay window, and took a few seconds. ~Should I change... no time.~ She then move toward the dresser and light up the encens. But then there was that nice bathrobe, it took her a few seconds to get out of her clothes and put it on. He sniffed. He could smell that incense again as he waited, but still he refused to open his eyes. That would spoil the surprise. She took a moment to look at him. He could have open his eyes but didn't, she smiled and walk up to him. “You can open your eyes now.” Ryko opened his eyes, not exactly sure what he was going to see. Yalta took his hands and guided him toward the bed. “Take a deep breath now.” Ryko complied, but he couldn't stop looking at her. Yalta had changed into some sort of semi-transparent garment, and although it covered her enough, he could nevertheless see she wasn't wearing much, if anything, underneath it. “I guess you approved what I'm wearing... just for you.” She smiled, and unbutton that shirt of his. Ryko simply lay back and let Yalta work her magic on him. He felt a slight tingle as his shirt fell open either side of him. "Computer, gentle piano music," Ryko said. The computer complied. Ryko relaxed completely and looked at Yalta. "Perfect," he said. Yalta open a small jewelry box containing a small bottle. She knew that Sky wondered about this bottle and what was inside, but she knew that once she would put a small puddle in her hands and rubbed it on him, he would know. She sat beside him and slowly poured the oil in the palm of her hand and then lay her hands flat on his chest. “You know what I like about are moments together like this?” "I know what I like about our moments together," Ryko said. "Just being together," he said. "What about you?" he asked as she began to rub the stuff into his chest. “Be with you, the quiet like this now... the closeness we have right now.” She concentrate a bit more on his shoulder, a couple of knots were there that quickly vanished with her touch. Ryko smiled and sniffed. "Is that what I think it is?" he said, referring to the oil Yalta was using. “Yes... Sikna oil and it's aged.” She bent over and gave him a kiss. Ryko smiled. "It feels good," he said, relaxing. He hadn't felt this good for a long time. “I can see that.” She took one of his hand, put it on her shoulder to massage his arm. “You have a few knots here and there.” She bent her head ever so slightly and her cheek rob against Sky's hand. Ryko absently stroked Yalta's cheek. It was hard to stay awake. "You're a hell of a masseuse," Ryko said, smiling at the same time as struggling to stay awake. “I'm a total amateur... I'm just gentle.” She laughed. "No, I mean it," Ryko said returning the laugh. "I'm so close to fallin' asleep it's hard to keep my eyes open." “Why don't you... you got a hard day at work.” "Alright," Ryko said and let himself go. He slowly began to drift, only vaguely aware of his surroundings. He relaxed completely. He felt a slight tickle along his side and woke up. Yalta was sitting on him. "What's this?" he said amusedly. “Simply my fingers... tickling you. I want you to be relaxed but not that relaxed.” She winked at him and lay down. “As for me... I'm totally mellow where I am right now.” Ryko smiled and cradled Yalta in his arms. "Me too," he said, kissing her hair. He lay back. "It's great to come home to something as perfect as this," he said. "It's like I can just shut myself off from the outside world and be with you for a few hours. My own personal paradise," Ryko said wistfully, stroking Yalta's hair. “Considering what is going on... I understand that perfectly... Let's sleep.” Ryko nodded and fell asleep with Yalta in his arms. Little did he know that he was in for a rather rude awakening. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mission: A Dream of the Past, Day 10 Stardate: 2406.10.19 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Science Labs- TAC/SC - 0022) ==================================== Ryko watched as Eva moved away, and his eyes fell upon the approaching ACEO. "Skylynx. I'm ACEO Enaj. You called?" Ryko nodded. "Yes," he said, putting away the Padd. This was sensitive material. He straightened up and motioned for Enaj to follow him. "I was wondering if you may have any inclination as to what caused this," Ryko asked, showing her a hologrammatic image of the scene in the Jefferies tube. (Reply Enaj) "Normally I would allow you to see for yourself, but it's a highly sensitive situation, I've had to seal off this tube for the time being," Ryko asked. (Reply) Ryko eventually relented. "Alright, But I'm not letting down the force fields. James, stay with the ACEO, watch her back while she makes the repairs. If anything happens, call me," Ryko said. James nodded and stood by his new protege. "If you need me, I'll be in the security office," Ryko said, and excused himself. He wandered out of the science labs, checking that the guards were still in place. ~I gotta get out of this d*mn isolation suit,~Ryko thought. ~I'm burning up in here.~ He headed for the turbolift. "Deck 12," he said, and the turbolift moved. ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Science Labs- ACEO Enaj - 0022) ==================================== "Skylynx. I'm ACEO Enaj. You called?" The officer nodded, "Yes". The officer then put away his Padd straigtened up and motioned Saim to follow. "I was wondering if you may have any inclination as to what caused this," Skylynx asked, showing Saim a hologrammatic image of a wrecked Jefferies Tube. "What happened in there! And why am I only seeing a hologram?" "Normally I would allow you to see for yourself, but it's a highly sensitive situation, I've had to seal off this tube for the time being." "For one thing I have to fix up that mess and secondly find out what happened. Nothing can be so sensitive that I am not allowed in." "Alright, But I'm not letting down the force fields. James, stay with the ACEO, watch her back while she makes the repairs. If anything happens, call me. If you need me, I'll be in the security office." (NRPG: When you say you are not letting down the force fields does that mean I am not allowed in?) RPG: As Skylynx departed Saim gestured for James to lead the way. Saim looked into the mouth of the tube. It looked even worse in real life than on the hologram, if that was possible. ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Science Labs - ACEO Enaj - 0022) ==================================== Seeing the wreckage Saim commed engineering, "I want an engineering team to the science labs right away." =^= Coming =^= While Saim waited she climbed into the Jefferies Tube and had a nose around. Wires were hanging everywhere, melted away at the ends. After a good look round Saim came to the conclusion that the damage seemed to have been caused by a blast. But the blast could have originated she could not begin to suppose. When the engineering team came Saim told them to get complete "documentary" evidence, videos of all the damage and descriptions and then to start patching up. "I'll come to help in a bit unless something urgent comes up, and inform me if you find anything enlightening or particularly strange." "Ai,ai" ==================================== (USS Boudicca- Deck 12- TAC/SC- 0035) ==================================== Ryko ambled around the corridor until he entered the Security armoury. There he removed the isolation suit and placed it neatly in its storage area. He tapped a simple combination into a nearby pad and the locker swooshed closed, sealing the contents inside. The suit was already being resterilised. He went to the clothing locker and changed back into his uniform, before going next door to the security office. "Computer, display a complete record of all boudicca personnel on main readout," he said as he entered. "Then seal the office doors." If there was one thing Ryko needed right now, it was peace and quiet. He turned from the closing doors and looked at the main display. The list was expectedly huge. "Woah," Ryko said. "Too big." He decided to narrow the field. "Computer show me anyone who has been within 5 metres of the Science lab Jefferies tube junction, plus a summary of anyone with clearance for the marine armoury," Ryko said. He heard a small blib and the list lost a quarter of its bulk, before splitting in two. Ryko sighed and scratched the back of his head. ~This is gonna be a long, LONG night,~ he thought. He tapped his badge. "Skylynx to Schafio,~ he said, waiting for Yalta's response. (Reply Schafio) "I don't think I'll be home 'til the small ours of the morning, I got a hell of a lot of work to do," he said. (Reply Schafio) "I'll try. Have a good night," he said, and closed the channel. He walked to the Replicator. "Coffee, Cuban, strong," he said. "With extra sugar," he ordered. The beveraged fizzed into existence and Ryko gratefully took it. He sat down, pulled out his Padd, faced the main display, and went to work. "A'aight," he said as he set down his still-full cup. "Now I gotta narrow a list of around 250...down to 1," he said to himself. He sighed. ~This is gonna be a long night.~ ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Deck 3, crew quarters - OPS Lt. Yalta Schafio - 0036) ==================================== Yalta turn in the bed, something, actually, someone was missing, Sky wasn't there and he was working. She wasn't so sure that it was a good idea to have him working, but she knew that he was as stubborn as she was. Then, a message woke her up. =/\=Skylynx to Schafio.=/\= he said, waiting for Yalta's response. “Yes... I'm slightly awake... anything wrong?” =/\=I don't think I'll be home 'til the small ours of the morning, I got a hell of a lot of work to do,=/\= he said. “Be carefull now Sky!” =/\=I'll try. Have a good night,=/\= The chanel closed. Yalta tap her pillow and settled back in the bed. “Don't do anything I wouldn't do Sky!” ==================================== (Ceti Sigma IV, Kurgarian City, Ensign jg,John Fredericks , 0358) ==================================== John stood as casually as he could while sending flows of boredom towards the guards. He watched helplessly as the man was ran down and beat to the ground with short clubs. Had he been by himself he might have been tempted to join the fray and help the runner but since there were others here with him he had to refrain from anything that might get them caught. He was exerting most of his concentration towards trying to keep the guards disinterested from coming down this part of the road and didnt notice LT Monroe come up from behind him until she reached out and took his hand. Startled he turned toward her as she pulled him back into the surrounding trees. Wrapping her arms around him she started what would appear to be the beginnings of a very serious kiss. After the first second or so of surprise John understood what she was doing and responded in kind, although to be honest, as his arms encircled her trim waist, one reaching somewhat lower he had never thought an away mission would turn out quite this way. John laughed to himself while in the embrace as he remembered the advice of one of his instructors. "Never fail to take advantage of any situation ~I bet he never thought of this kind of situation , then again, maybe he did. The old fart~. Identification. Now please. Came a voice from behind him. With a great show of reluctance he release the LT. and turned back towards the guard standing there, the other was by the now restrained man that had been running. "Sorry officer, I was a little preoccupied. John said as he reached inside the suit like garment and removed his ID and presented it to the guard. As he did so John once again began sending forth waves of great boredom toward the man who after a quick almost insufficient glance at it handed it back. "How about yours? He asked Lt Munroe (Reply Munroe) With a quick glance at her papers he handed them back to her. You two need to find somewhere else for that kind of thing, It isnt permitted to show such "Displays of affection in public places. The guard told them. Ill let you off with a warning this time but next time Ill have to take you in. At that point he actually started to yawn . ~Opps, Guess I overdid it a little~ John thought and eased up on the empathic wavs he was sending out. As the guards left with their prisoner John turned back to Madison. "I must say I preferred your diversion to the one I was trying. You do know that on some worlds that makes us engaged John said laughing. Then reached for his tricorder to resume scanning the area. ==================================== (Ceti Sigma IV - Kurgarian City - CSO/2O Kyle Morie Rin - 0359) ==================================== Kyle watched as the guards took there leave after Domini's interesting performance which boiled even his blood. Turning his attention back towards the others he saw Domini motion them closer near a vendor who was selling hot nuts. "Rin could have been executed if they thought he was a terrorist, or taken into custody. If he was dressed differently, he would have been executed for stepping out of his place and being in this district. This government seems to be rather paranoid, and they don't give second chances." Domini finished, then stalked over to one of the vendors, exchanging a coin for a bag of hot nuts. She walked back over to the group, passing the bag around. "It's an excuse to stand and talk," She said, "Apparently it's quite done for us to stand around in the street and eat hot nuts and talk." She grinned. Refusing the nuts which Domini offered Kyle spotted a wall which seemed like a nice place to sit down only a couple steps from the team. He examined his backpack and threw it against the wall as hard as he could taking a seat next to the now sideways bag. He crossed his arms over his knees and rested his head as he looked down between his legs toward the 'sidewalk' as it was called. Looking up Domini, Grailik, Melody, and Daniels were all focused on him the act which he just pulled didn't seem to suit any of them. "I'm sorry... i've been under too much stress these past couple of days. When one has dreams about there mother who's been missing for years...." Kyle stopped as a tear rolled down his face he looked carefuly at his friends who stood in front of him. ::I guess it's pointless to tell you the feelings I have for you when you've got someone like maddie:: Kyle sent to Domini as he looked deep into her eyes. "Give me a couple minutes to pull myself together sir." He gave Grailik a glance and rested his head back down onto his arms as a couple more tears rolled down his face. ==================================== (Ceti Sigma IV - Kurgarian City - COUNS Dr. Domini Alizara - 0359) ==================================== ::I guess it's pointless to tell you the feelings I have for you when you've got someone like maddie:: Kyle sent to Domini as he looked deep into her eyes. "Give me a couple minutes to pull myself together sir." She ignored the comment and moved a bit away to let Graillik and Haverstaad talk. "Sorry, I didn't mean to make you jealous with Johann there, I know you got a lot on your mind... I just hadn't gotten around to telling you yet." She said loudly for anyone listening as she gestured to the First Officer with a turn of her head. "Let's talk about this?" "Taker your time." Domini said, leaning back against the wall casually and spreading her feet apart, for balance, ran her hands down the leather, making sure that the eyes that were on her team were on her and not on the others. A man walked up and knelt at her feet. "Wondrous one, might this insignificant thing ask where the Most Lovely One does business?" Domini stared down at him with the appropriate disdain. ::Goddammit Kyle, pull yourself together. I don't care about your issues right now, we're on an away mission and they are a luxury that we absolutely can not afford.:: "No." Domini said, raising one foot to the man's face. When he leaned in to kiss it, she kicked, making sure not to make contact, and then turned away from the blubbering man. "You are not in my league." She said coldly, moving back towards the party. ::Kyle, do you think you can get it together ?:: She looked up at Grailik, the concern obvious in her eyes. "It might be a remnant of the attacks. Psychic attacks generally leave their .. victims... with panic attacks." ::And as for what is going on between me and Maddie, that is none of your concern. You were interested in Kestra, if I remember right, and spurned my advances, such as they were. I'm sorry Kestra is gone, and you are lonely.:: ==================================== (Ceti Sigma IV, Kurgarian City, FO, Commander Grailik, 0400) ==================================== Grailik had been silent so far watching events as they unfolded. Domini had taken the initiative with the guards, so Grailik had let her handle them, while he observed. He guessed that there was some telepathic communication going on between Rin and Domini, but he had no idea about what. Only the frequent eye contact and facial expressions of the two tipped him off. Then Rin broke down and started to cry. Grailik frowned as this was no place for an emotional break down. "I'm sorry... I've been under too much stress these past couple of days. When one has dreams about there mother who's been missing for years...." Rin paused, then said; "Give me a couple minutes to pull myself together sir." Grailik frowned looking from Rin to Domini, as Chief Haverstaad tried to get Rin back on his feet. Domini moved off to one side in an attempt to play decoy. Grailik moved over to help Haverstaad pull Rin back to his feet. "Pull yourself together," Grailik whispered into Rin's ear, "We can't afford you having an emotional episode at this time." (Reply Rin) With Rin back on his feet, Grailik indicated for Haverstaad to stay with him as they started back down the street. He put his arm around Domini and pulled her close, as they fell back a ways from Rin and Haverstaad, just out of easy ear shot. Grailik put his head down into the crook of Domini's neck like he was kissing her neck. "See me when we are back," He whispered, as their eyes met. He looked at Rin briefly then back at Domini. "You have much to answer for." (Reply Domini) They walked arm in arm for a while longer. As they neared the repository, they group moved back together. Haverstaad once more grabbed Grailik's arm as Domini moved over to near Rin. "Sir, I believe it is time to get the teams together again. We are not in a good position here, we have the entire position recorded," Haverstaad whispered in his ear as she made it look like she was nibbling on his ear. Grailik wrapped his arm around her and lifted her off the ground slightly, to give the illusion of enjoying the encounter. "We will move toward the rendezvous at our present speed," He whispered back, "We are being watched. Haste would blow our cover and draw too much unwanted attention. Patience." Putting Haverstaad back down, Grailik openly smiled at her and put his arm around her, drawing her close as they walked along. He laughed loudly as he pointed at Domini and Rin, moving up beside them and pulling them all in close. "Everyone laugh loudly. I just told a very amusing joke," Grailik whispered to them all. Then laughing loudly again. (Reply Rin, Domini, Haverstaad) They continued on their way, laughing and carrying on as two couples out for a night of partying would. Continuing on their way past the repository and away from it. They soon came to the established meeting point and they stopped to wait for the other team to arrive. Making it look like they were taking a small break to further enjoy each others company. ==================================== (Ceti Sigma IV-Kurgarian City - Dr. Madison Munroe- 0403) ==================================== Maddie could sense Fredericks surprise in the kiss, but soon he became more enthusistic. Actually, his enthusiasm went further than she had expected as his hands began to wander across her body. Once again she found herself wishing she were in Domini's group. She let him grope at her until a voice startled her. "Identification, now!" They seperated and Maddie looked at the law enforcer, a little embarrassed. "Sorry officer, I was a little preoccupied," Fredericks said with a smirk. He produced his identifcation, then the officer turned to her. "How about yours? Maddie made a big display of straightening her clothes, pulling at her shirt inorder to show as much cleavage as possible, and still remain decent. Then bent down to reach into her bag. She looked up at the officer as she produced her papers to see that his eyes were straining to stay in their sockets. she had obviously given him a better show than she had realized. The officer shook his head as she handed him her papers. he gave them a cursory glance and another appreciative look at her. Then he went into a lecture about the evils of public displays of affection, and moved them on with a warning. As they walked away Maddie looked back to see the officer watching her, his eyes loooking down. He yawned again, and shook his head again, as if he were waking up from a dream. He turned and went back to his partner and their prisoner. "I must say I preferred your diversion to the one I was trying," Fredericks said with a smile. "You do know that on some worlds that makes us engaged?" Maddie looked at him, trying not to be irritated. "On some worlds, it would makes us married, and after our nuptuals I could legally kill you and eat your entrail." Fredericks turned to his tricorder as Maddie noticed that they were missing someone. "Hey, where's West?" ==================================== (Ceti Sigma IV - Kurgarian City, outside the Repository - Senior chief Melody Haverstaad (Nancy) - 0405) ==================================== "Rin could have been executed if they thought he was a terrorist, or taken into custody. If he was dressed differently, he would have been executed for stepping out of his place and being in this district. This government seems to be rather paranoid, and they don't give second chances." Melody frowned as she watched the Counselor, whom it was known was now dressed as a full Dominatrix, walked over and bought a bag of nuts. The Security Senior Chief ignored the connotations of someone wearing full leather buying a bag of nuts, if she started now, the sexual puns would have run straight through to Christmas non-stop. "It's an excuse to stand and talk," She said, "Apparently it's quite done for us to stand around in the street and eat hot nuts and talk." Melody chuckled throatily; though that cut off at the sound of something thrown. She turned on her heal just in time to see the CSO flop down. "I'm sorry... I've been under too much stress these past couple of days. When one has dreams about there mother who's been missing for years...." He paused, then said; "Give me a couple minutes to pull myself together sir." Melody looked around, worried yet determined not to let it show, then walked over to the CSO. She knelt beside him, "Sorry, I didn't mean to make you jealous with Johann there, I know you got a lot on your mind... I just hadn't gotten around to telling you yet." She said loudly for anyone listening as she gestured to the First Officer with a turn of her head. "Let's talk about this?" She leaned in closer and put an arm around the CSO's arm. "This isn't the time to be breaking down Sir; up you go, before you get us killed and you make me very unhappy..." She whispered just for him, yanking on his arm. In a light, but very determined, gesture. ==================================== (Ceti Sigma IV-Kurgarian City Ensign John Fredericks (jg) TAC/AST- 0405) ==================================== Maddie could sense Fredericks surprise in the kiss, but soon he became more enthusiastic. Actually, his enthusiasm went further than she had expected as his hands began to wander across her body. Once again she found herself wishing she were in Domini's group. She let him grope at her until a voice startled her. John felt Maddie stiffen slightly as he started to pull her a little closer and backed off a little. ~Down John!!~ He thought to himself ~Not only is she a LT but this is all for show anyways~ "Identification, now!" They separated and Maddie looked at the law enforcer, a little embarrassed. "Sorry officer, I was a little preoccupied," Fredericks said with a smirk. He produced his identification, then the officer turned to her. "How about yours? Maddie made a big display of straightening her clothes, pulling at her shirt in order to show as much cleavage as possible, and still remain decent. As they walked away Maddie looked back to see the officer watching her, his eyes looking down. "On some worlds, it would make us married, and after our nuptials I could legally kill you and eat your entrails." "Hmm, John replied back in his best innocent wide eyed wise assed grin, "What goes best with entrails of Ensign Red wine or white "? Fredericks turned to his tricorder as Maddie noticed that they were missing someone. "Hey, where's West?" "I think he went over that way, John pointed off to the left of where they were standing. ==================================== (Ceti Sigma IV-Kurgarian City - Lt jg Trevan West.- 0406) ==================================== Trevan saw the security guards disappear and leave his friends alone, thank god. The building he had hidden behind was small, and not taken care of very well. It was obviously abandoned many years ago. Trevan jogged down a small incline to meet up with his friends, "That," he said as he was taking a deep breath, "was a close one. I figured it would, umm shall I say, 'arouse' suspicion if I were with the two of you." he gave a sly smile at the comment. Judging from his companions reactions, the got the joke. "While I was back there," he indicated behind him, "I got some strange readings from that building. Faint, barely registering on my tricorder, but there is either something in or under that structure. I think we need to take a look. Fredricks, contact the other team and let them know." After setting up near the building and being assured by Fredricks that there was no threat of them being detected, they proceeded to scan the outer area of the building. It was plain enough, however, there were some faint energy readings coming from the interior of the building. Trevan looked up from his tricoder, "Possibly a power generator, or dampening field. I am picking up heat from this area. It's not a security system is it?" he asked ==================================== (Ceti Sigma IV - Kurgarian City, outside the Repository and a few blocks down - Senior Chief Melody Haverstaad (Nancy) - 0419) ==================================== Melody crossed her arms behind her back as she walked. It was early, and between her and the First Officer, they were making sure that the group didn't stop in one place for too long. Melody had already gotten the idea she was miss-dressed for this time of night, but the presence of the Counselor more-or-less made up for that. However, they were already conspicuous; especially with the group not functioning fully... if the CSO broke down again, Melody figured she would kick his butt herself. Dying on this back-water little planet wasn't in her plans. Between them all, she hoped they were observing all that they had to observe. A couple of them had tricorders, nicely hidden, but that didn't mean much if one of their security guards decided to take a dislike to them. After a few moments, she stepped back and hung on the First Officer's arm again. And then, without hesitation, she put her lips by his ear... making it look like she was nibbling, while instead she whispered; "Sir, I believe it is time to get the teams together again. We are not in a good position here, we have the entire position recorded." ==================================== (Ceti Sigma IV, Kurgarian City, COUNS, Dr. Domini Alizara, 0419) ==================================== "See me when we are back," He whispered, as their eyes met. He looked at Rin briefly then back at Domini. "You have much to answer for." Domini nodded, moving back from Grailik to stand away from them. She was mad at Grailik, for one thing. She was angry with Rin more, though. She had known he was having issues, but he had lied to her about how deep they went. He hadn't bothered to contact her about them until a few hours prior, when she had been in the middle of dealing with the multitude of other things. ~I should have made the time. I shouldn't've listened to him. I should have pulled him off the away team roster. Maddie can do a better job than he can.~ She thought walking down the path with the others, outwordly her face serene. She could tell that Rin was sulking and she didn't care. Well, the professional part of her did, the rest... he was being a brat. She smiled as Maddie and Fredericks and the rest of the team came around the corner. Painfully aware that they were being watched, Domini stalked over to Maddie and took a firm grip on the back of her hair, tilting her face up to meet hers. "You are late, little girl." Domini said, looking down into Maddie's eyes and grinning as sexual a smile as she could. "Were you detained?" (reply Maddie) "Ah, yes. Well, I suppose that I can't blame you for that." She said guiding them over to Grailik. "Master, the girl I was speaking of is here with her friends. As I mentioned earlier, the girl is a student and is afraid for her reputation, should it be known that she was visiting our...services." And Domini smiled, feeling the watchers move back a bit. After all this was nothing more than an illicit meeting between some students and a professional. Nothing for the authorities to be concerned about. ==================================== (Ceti Sigma IV, Kurgarian City - Senior Chief Haverstaad (Nancy) - 0420) ==================================== "Sir, I believe it is time to get the teams together again. We are not in a good position here, we have the entire position recorded," Though she was expecting it, she almost squeaked when the First Officer wrapped an arm around her and pulled up. "We will move toward the rendezvous at our present speed," He whispered back, "We are being watched. Haste would blow our cover and draw too much unwanted attention. Patience." They walked on a moment later; he pointed at the crew and began laughing. Once they were together, he whispered. "Everyone laugh loudly. I just told a very amusing joke," Melody didn't laugh, she giggled, loudly. Her eyes darted back and forth, looking for trouble. With a large, conspiratal grin she leaned forward. "And I'm telling sordid secrets; take that how you like when I'm done. Slowly move to the rendezvous, we have enough data on the surrounding area. Perhaps their security procedures will be lighter come daylight; at least it will be easier to hide in a crowd then." (reply: any, as desired) They walked on, continuing their little charade. Melody hoped they weren't acting too far out of character for the race, she deeply wished she'd had more time to study their cultural habits They made it to the rendezvous point not long later, and a short time after that the second half of the crew made it. "You are late, little girl were you detained?" (reply Maddie) Melody took herself off the First Officer's arm with a small peck to the cheek and walked over to Fredricks. She grinned large as she stepped next to him and hung off his arm, as she had been with Grailik, though not as provocatively. She put her head against his shoulder, as if resting, and said. "Security here is exceptionally tight; did you have any problems Sir?" (reply: Fredricks) While waiting for a reply, she put up her hand and waved daintily at West. ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Engineering - ACEO Enaj - 0430) ==================================== Saim was looking at a console when she saw a sudden violent spike of energy. Instantly Saim started tracking the spike. It seemed to be aimed at the cloak but where it originated from was impossible to say. The energy just popped up out of nowhere in the middle of the grid. What confused Saim was that the energy was the right magnitude to shut off the cloak at its current power, which was much lower than normal. The only reason that the planet below were not looking up at the sky at a big ship was that not so long ago an energy absorber had been set up to protect the cloak from malfunctions. But this did not look like a malfunction and the energy of the blast was to specific to discount. In fact it looked very much like attempted sabotage. But how could they be sabotaged so specifically, unless someone was aboard. "Skylynx, please come to engineering right away." (reply Ryko) Turning back to the console Saim stared, worried and perplexed. ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Security office- TAC/SC- 0430) ==================================== About 3 hours had passed, and Ryko was working solidly through his 9th cup of coffee. Fortunately he had a high sugar and caffiene tolerance, so he didn't get "hyper" like other people normally would. He set down his empty cup and breathed. He found himself wishing he was back in his quarters with Yalta. That was the closest he'd been to relaxing and sleeping for a full 24 hours. He went back to the list of suspects, now decreased from 150 people to 50. 2 thirds of the list was gone. People who Ryko had found evidence of being away from the affected areas of attack during the times he had identified, those being when he surmised the DDZ had been stolen, followed by when the Explosion had detonated. He sighed. He was running out of leads. His badge bleeped. =/\=Skylynx, please come to engineering right away=/\= Ryko quirked an eyebrow. ~finally, something interesting,~ he thought, and rose from the chair. "On my way Ensign," Ryko replied, and headed out of the office. ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Engineering - ACEO Enaj - 0430) ==================================== =/\=Skylynx, please come to engineering right away=/\= "On my way Ensign" A few minutes later Saim heard from behind her, "What happened?" Turning back to the console Saim stared, worried and perplexed. "I'm not completely sure. There was a massive spike of energy directed at the cloak. I don't know if you know but since we came through the anomaly the cloak energy has been steadily decreasing. This energy spike was the exact amount to completely shut down the cloak at its current energy level. That is if not so long ago a safety device had been installed. It looks like sabotage to me but who out here, hundreds of years in the past would sabotage Boudicca?" ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Engineering - TAC/SC Skylynx - 0430) ==================================== "I'm not completely sure. Ryko asked, although given the circumstances, he already knew the answer to this question. (Reply Enaj) Ryko's face suddenly became aware. He knew where the bastard would be know. Internal sabotage, need to escape. "Computer, shut down all personnel transporters immediately!" he said, hurriedly. He wasn't about to let this...whatever or whoever it was, get away. [Unable to comply, level 10 clearance is...] "Security override," Ryko interrupted. "Authorisation Skylynx, 2 7 Delta Phoenix," Ryko said. "Place containment fields at 50 metres from every transporter room, and seal those areas." The computer bleeped and Ryko looked at the systems readout on the screen. He knew very well he had just stranded the away team on the ship, but he wasn't intending to leave them on the surface for long. "Skylynx to Sevant," Ryko said as he tapped his badge. (Reply Sevant) "I believe we have our assassin trapped sir, somewhere near the transporter rooms," Ryko said. "Ensign Enaj detected sabotage in the Ship's cloaking systems, my only lead is instinct," Ryko said. (Reply Sevant) "If there is something trying to damage this vessel, sir, then I would wager it isn't too keen to stay around and admire its handywork." (Reply Sevant) "Understood. Skylynx out," Ryko said. He turned back to a shocked ACEO. "Thankyou for your time ensign," Ryko said. "If you'll excuse me, I have an assassin to catch. Keep me informed," he asked, and made himself scarce. Ryko walked out of engineering and gave orders for each security team to converge on the Transporter rooms, and to use caution. "Skylynx to Straton," Ryko said, again tapping his badge as he went for the nearby Security office. He unlocked the armory and appropriately equipped himself. (Reply Straton) "I believe we have our assassin cornered," Ryko said. "Based on recent information I hope we have them trapped near transporter room 1," Ryko said. "I am en-route, requesting CE Backup," he asked. Straton was far more capable of handling this than he was. ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Engineering - ACEO Enaj - 0430) ==================================== "I'm not completely sure. An assasin onboard. Who had been killed? Sabotage as well. "Thank you for your time ensign. If you'll excuse me, I have an assassin to catch. Keep me informed." Saim took a moment to hear the man's words. When she finally came round a confused, "Yes sir," escaped her lips. What was going on the ship. Saim sat down quite suddenly on a stool and after sitting quietly for a split second turned towards the screen and started work on trying to find out where and how the blast had been created. ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Deck 3, crew quarters - OPS Lt. Yalta Schafio - 0431) ==================================== Yalta was deep asleep, and was having wonderful dreams, she was on the edge of the ocean with Sky, their feets in the water... and well. The bedsheets were tighly tuck under her chin, with the thick conforter. Suddenly, the ship shock a little but enough and because she was near the edge of the bed, she fell over. “What the.... has happen? Ouch, my elbow.” She sat first and rub her elbow that she had knock against the bed's box. More or less asleep, she got up but didn't feel that the bedsheet was a bit twisted around her hanckle. Her equilibrium off, she took a first step, and her other feet got tangle in the bed sheet. It made her fall flat on the floor, but has she did so, her hand knock off the bedside table incent ash holder and it all fell over her head. “DAMN! Computer lights!” As the lights turn on, she look at herself in the long miror, her face and hair were all covered with ash. “Computer... what happen?” [There was an explosion in Transporter room 1 Lt. Schafio] Yalta manage to get up and was careful with the bedsheet. “Any injuries!” [No report as been filled Lt. Schafio] Yalta look at the ship chronometer... it was 0435. “Could people have the decency to blow bombs at a reasonnable hour of the day... like around 1000 hrs... it's just too early.” [Insufficient data to answer your question Lt. Schafio... rephrase your question please] “I wasn't asking you computer!” said Yalta in a bad mood and she decided to get to the bathroom and took a sonic shower to get rid of the ash. Fifteen minutes later, she was out of her quarters and directed herself to the turbolift that would take her to the bridge. When she arrived there, something was wrong. The turbolift door didn't want to open and a message came in. [This turbolift has been damages, please, take the other one.] “Computer, even if I take the other one, it has to get through here... both turbolifts can't be used.” [Analysing... your accessment is correct.] Yalta look in the air... wondering if the computer would tell her the answer. “Computer, is there another way to get to the bridge.” [All transporter rooms are lock down, the only solution are the jefferies tubes... you need to go that way Lt. Schafio.] “This gets better and better.” Yalta wasn't happy one bit, she could have beatten the walls right about now. But that wouldn't be productive even if it would make her feel good. [The jefferies tubes is 2 meters lefts Lt. Schafio.] “I'm not going to say thank you.” [You're welcome Sir] Yalta sigh as she open the hatch, and step into the jefferies tube. ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Somewhere - The Shadow - 0432) ==================================== It was perfect, PERFECT! With a good portion of the senior staff gone, the Shadow could pick others off without issue. The only shame about it was that muddle-headed MCO was still around, and the rest of security had been beefed up. It was a shame, but it was unavoidable. As long as the Agent could raise some hell and perhaps destroy the ship, however, death mattered little. The Shadow suddenly paused mid-stride and grinned a smite, as evil a smite as ever had been smiled. The Agent had just received inspiration, nasty inspiration. The agent continued walking again, not changing pace or stride; in case the sensors were being watched. And then, with no effort, slid into one of the Access corridors and made way to a Jefferies tube. A short crawl later found the Shadow near Transporter Room One. This was not one of the most protected areas on the ship, not especially from behind in the Jefferies Tubes... though there would likely be a guard in the room itself to make sure nobody tried to beam down or out. Not many would consider what the Agent was just about to do. The Shadow pulled out a tube and smiled as the seal was broke. After several tense seconds, several of the power couplings and most of the computer links had been covered in a small layer of the stuff. With infinite patience, the Shadow pulled out a small detonator and attached it close-by. Three minutes were quickly programmed in, and the Shadow was off! With controlled panic, the Shadow made way through the Jefferies tubes, only stopping to exit once she had reached an engineering space that had no sensor coverage. These spots were rare, and not well documented, only Engineering and Security typically knew about them. A resounding rumble echoed through the ship and her support structures. Not large, but very noticeable. The Shadow had only used a small portion of the explosive, not enough to guarantee that the ship would be destroyed, but plenty that the ship should tremble in fear. It was a very real, and very appropriate, metaphor. Now, to get to the other transporter rooms before Security could get there, that would be the trick. Or maybe the Agent wouldn't need to go to the room, now there would be panic, the perfect environment for psychic attacks. It was win-win, either way! ==================================== (USS Boudicca- Engineering- TAC/SC - 0436) ==================================== Ryko walked into Engineering and found Enaj perplexed by a sparking console. "What happened?" Ryko asked simply. ==================================== (USS Boudicca - Ready Room - Capt Sevant - 0437) ==================================== Sevant opened his eyes with a start, breaking his chain of concentration from meditation and immediately coming 'into the now'. The ship stopped shuddering around him as Red Alert went off. As if the ship shuddering under his feet hadn't been enough. He practically jumped out of his chair and out onto the bridge. "Report!"
