Lorak looked at the Commander and nodded his head. "Yes sir right away" he said as he went about cleaning the mess up. ~Why do I get myself into these kind of things all the time?? First the Commander then the Chief and now this Lt. I think I’m just going to keep to myself from now on and just do as I’m told...~ Lorak smiled as he was completing his task ~hahaha kind of like a Borg~ Lorak had just completed his task and was standing back up as he heard the commander say, "it won't be just the ensign who will be doing manual cleaning jobs." Lorak's face went blank as he looked back to see how this had gotten out of hand. He could only shake his head as he thought about how this Lieutenant had been offended that his pet had a phaser used on it and Lorak's lack of common tongue, though good enough to get by he some times mixed words up. Such as when he used the word airlock, only when the Lieutenant said rest assured there are better places than an airlock did he know he had said the wrong word. And he damned himself for even trying. But then the Lieutenant had hooked him by that time and he didn’t feel so bad about saying it until the Commander had gotten upset. Lorak went back to his post knowing the Commander would call for him when he was ready. Lorak only hoped he would be just as ready when that time came. (Reply Stakes, Any) (posted by Jay) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - OPS Lt (jg) Donald Johnson - 0930) Donald was just about to exit the bridge when he was stopped by Stakes reprimand. He was slightly taken aback. Afterall the events that had just occurred were partly the commander's responsibility. Had he not had Donald's baggage brought to the bridge, none of this would have transpired. But much as the ensign seemed to be swallowing choice selections for his ears, he found that he too must yield to his superior officer. There would be better days. And as far as days go, in a war, this was hardly cause to complain. "Of course, sir" said Donald to the commander. "Thank you for taking the time," he then said addressing the security officer he had been talking to. "I will be fine." "Come Nanny", he said as he entered the turbolift. "Deck Three" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mission: The Anointed, Day 22 Stardate: 2407.03.15 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< (USS Kitty Hawk - Sickbay - Francesca dela Rosa - 2042) "Greetings, I am Arania from Iradon, please forgive my intrusion, but I have come to play the Song of Healing for John as I have done every day since he was damaged. Please don't send me away, for it is important that the Song be sung for at least four days." She reached into the folds of her robe and brought out her pipes. Francesca smiled suddenly, a genuine smile that lit her eyes up. "You've been visiting John every day? How kind! Please, tell me about the Song of Healing - you believe it's doing him good?" she asked, almost pleading to hear that it was. (reply Arania) "You must tell me more of how you met him," Francesca said warmly. "After you've played, if you like. It's OK if I stay while you do so?" she added, not sure whether this Song of Healing needed to be played only to John or not. (reply Arania) (USS Boudicca - Turbolift 6 - TAC/ASC Ensign(jg) Lorak Laroon - Day 22 - 2130) "Ensign," he said. "A moment, if you please." Lorak turned around as he heard someone call for him. Lorak then went to attention as soon as he had seen the Lieutenant Commander walk into the turbolift with him. Lorak smiled remembering his first meeting with the Commander and thought it wise this time to shake the Lieutenant Commander's hand. "Please call me Lorak Sir" As he let go of Stolev's hand. He turned to face the turbolift doors trying to hide his anger and frustration about the last few days. He only hoped the Lieutenant Commander was acting this way knowing what Lorak had done since his first day on the ship. He stopped thinking about it as Stolev said. "Since I'm supposed to be off-duty, we can chat in Ten Forward," Lorak nodded and looked back at the turbolift doors still at attention and didn’t say anything more to the Lieutenant Commander. (reply Stolev, any) (posted by Jay) (USS Boudicca - ACEO Quarters - ACEO Lorimar - 2131) After the officers meeting broke up Bob made his way directly to his quarters. With the repairs all but complete, he was doing his best to get back into, or more correctly get into, a normal routine. That included 8 hours of downtime, starting tonight. He studied the as yet still bare walls of his quarters and made a mental note. ~Perhaps one of our OPS officers can help with the 'misplacement' of my personal gear. Ah'll need tae check when I see one of them.~ He took the time to lay out a freshly replicated uniform, then jumped in to the sonic shower. A few minutes later, feeling greatly refreshed, he dressed and left his quarters. (USS Boudicca – Observation Lounge – OPS Lt (jg) Donald Johnson – 2132) Donald was walking over to Stolev to see if he had any particular concerns for tactical's needs, when the ensign he encountered on the bridge spoke to him. "Sir I don\t think we need to talk about my needs or concerns. If the tactical staff or security staff needs anything we go to Commander Stakes and to be blunt I have no wanting to know you on a personal level. But if you need to talk to the head of the Tactical staff then talk with Lieutenant Commander Stolev as he is my commanding officer." Donald blinked as he watched the ensign leave in a huff. ~It's been almost a week, he can't still be upset, can he?~ thought Donald, as he turned to Stolev. "Excuse me, Commander I just wanted to introduce myself personally and to see if there was anything you needed." said Donald, extending his hand. (Reply Stolev) (USS Boudicca - Observation Lounge - TAC/SC/2O Lt. Cmdr. Aleksander Stolev - Day 22 - 2133) Stolev was making his way towards the exit, hoping to catch up with his new TAC/ASC, when one of the new crew stepped over to him. "Excuse me, Commander I just wanted to introduce myself personally and to see if there was anything you needed," he said, extending his hand. Stolev took the man's hand as he tried to remember which new officer he was. "OPS, right? Ensign Johnson, is it? Sorry, I'm not great with names as it is, never mind having several new ones at once," he said apologetically. (reply Johnson) "Well, I'm sure I'll come up with plenty, once I'm back on duty and can sort through what's up with my department," Stolev replied with a smirk. "Speaking of which, I need to catch up with my new assistant and make sure he can hold down the fort without me. So if you'll excuse me?" (reply Johnson, any) (posted by Aaron) (USS Boudicca - Ten Forward - ACEO Lorimar - 2145) Lorimar entered Ten Forward for the first time since coming aboard. He smiled when he saw the magnificent view out the windows, and instantly decided he would enjoy any time he managed to spend here. He cast a glance around the room, the sidled up to the bar and introduced himself to the young lady working there. "Bob Lorimar, pleasure tae meet ye." (Reply Hikaru iyw) He ordered a steaming mug of coffee, cradled it gratefully in his hands and nodded thankfully to the barkeep. He took a sip and let the aroma tease his brain for a moment, savoring it. Looking around once again, he noted two of the ship's officers he had just met at the meeting sitting at a table near the edge of the room. He ambled over, coffee mug in hand. He stopped a respectful distance from the table, not wishing to intrude or interrupt. When there came a lull in their conversation, he waved with his free hand and smiled at them. "Good evenin' Commander, Ensign... ah don't wish tae interrupt, just wanted to say hello..." (Reply Stolev, Laroon, Any) (Posted by Russ) (USS Kitty Hawk - Sickbay - Arania - 2146) John's woman had kindly permitted Arania to stay and allowed the young Iradonian to play her pipes and sing the Song of Healing, after which they had fallen into conversation so time had passed quickly for Arania and before long (or so it seemed), there came a soft tapping on the glass that separated the isolation ward from the main area. Arania looked up and saw Matthew there. ~He must have come to meet me.~ She smiled brightly, her heart doing little somersaults inside her, or at least that was how it felt. He looked to Francesca then pointed to himself, and then to the door, mutely requesting her permission to enter and then walked over to the door and came in. "Hello Fran." he said pleasantly. "Any change?" (reply Francesca) "Oh there will be!" Arania stated, nodding emphatically, having complete conviction and faith that the Song of Healing would have a magical effect on John. (reply Francesca, Matthew, John iyw) (posted by Sal) (USS Boudicca - Ten Forward - TAC/SC/2O Lt. Cmdr. Aleksander Stolev - Day 22 - 2147) "You absolutely will have to be able to serve on the bridge," said Stolev. Laroon nodded. "I have seen the Chief sir and we spent a lot of time going over the system with each other," he replied. The Lyran nodded to himself for a moment before continuing. "Sir I think you should know that in the short time I've been on this ship I've managed to anger the Commander twice and am still under his......ball and chain? The Chief when it came to the tactical system...that and my ability to joke with humans is some what lacking.... and for some reason I think she thought I was asking her out on a date??" Lorak shook his head and got back on the topic "and the new Chief of Operations Lieutenant Johnson." Stolev frowned, still trying to figure out what the ball and chain remark meant. He was about to ask for some clarification, but then noticed another one of the new officers approaching the table. The newcomer waved with his free hand and smiled at them. "Good evenin' Commander, Ensign... ah don't wish tae interrupt, just wanted to say hello..." Stolev nodded to the ensign with the Scottish brogue. "Good evening, Ensign... Lorimar, was it?" (reply Lorimar) "If you haven't already run into him, you ought to look up Lieutenant MacRannon in the security department. He's Scottish through and through -- you two would probably have lots to talk about." (reply Lorimar) Out of the corner of his eye, Stolev noticed Lieutenant Johnson approaching, wearing some sort of apron. ~Maybe now I'll find out what the deal is between Laroon and Johnson.~ "Excuse me, Commander. Ensign. If I might interrupt," said Johnson. "Of course, Lieutenant," replied Stolev politely, wishing he had chosen a less public place to get his TAC/ASC started. "The ensign and I got off on the wrong foot when I arrived and I wanted to offer a bit of an olive branch. I'm sure it was a long day for us both and we didn't mean what was said." explained Johnson. Stolev raised an eyebrow and looked over at Laroon, wondering what he'd say. (Reply Laroon) "Would both of you be interested in joining me and Commander Zzt in doing a little cooking?" offered Johnson. Stolev looked over at the galley area, where he saw Zzt sitting among piles of raw meat and what looked like a variety of herbs and spices. He glanced at the chronometer, then back at Johnson. "Actually, I think I'll pass. I really should be heading along, But feel free to join them if you wish, Mr. Laroon," he replied. "I'm sure it will be.... interesting," he added with a chuckle as he stood to leave. (reply Laroon, Lorimar, Johnson, any) (posted by Aaron) (USS Kitty Hawk - Sickbay - Francesca dela Rosa - 2148) After Arania had played her Song, she and Francesca had talked a lot. Arania had told Francesca about how she had met John and Matthew on the planet Iradon, and how she and Matthew had fallen in love. In return, Francesca had shared how she and John had first met, then parted, and had met again. Francesca talked about Inez, and how she and John were trying to build a new life together for Inez's sake. Shyly, she had also shared her hopes and dreams of their becoming a real family, and how much she loved John. She didn't know why she felt so close to Arania, whom she had only just met, but somehow this young woman was easy to talk to. And someone to talk to - really talk to - was something Francesca had badly missed in the last few months. In a strange way, sitting here in the small room next to John, who was apparently oblivious to it all, she felt divorced from reality in a curious way. A tap on the window made Francesca look round, and she saw Matthew McLaren there. He pointed to himself and then the door, and she smiled and nodded, happy that someone else cared how John was doing. "Hello Fran." Matthew said pleasantly as he entered. "Any change?" Francesca shook her head. "Not so far," she answered. "Oh there will be!" Arania said stoutly with an emphatic nod. Francesca smiled to see her new friend so optimistic. "I hope so," she said quietly, looking at the still figure on the bed. "And if sheer faith can do anything at all, I'm sure Arania's will do it. It's so kind of her to..." she broke off and wiped away a tear. "It's very kind of you both to visit him," she added. "It's good to know he has friends who care. I thought I saw Jerral out there before too. If you see him later, tell him he's welcome to visit." (Reply Zzt) He was just grabbing some more ingredients when he noticed Stolev with the ensign sitting at a table. "Zzt, would you mind carrying on a bit, I want to see if someone else would join us." Donald explained. "Just don't eat all the meat yet. I want to show you what honey can do." (Reply Zzt) Donald walked over to the table in his chef's apron. "Excuse me, Commander. Ensign. (Reply Mei Ling) (USS Boudicca – Johnson's Quarters – OPS Lt (jg) Donald Johnson – 2300) Donald had just finished checking on Thelma, Louise and Nanny. They seemed okay and he sank into a chair in front of his console. ~Just have to send this out before I pass out~ he thought. His fingers moved swiftly over the keyboard typing out a message: TO: All Senior Officers FROM: Lieutenant Donald Johnson RE: Farewell Welcoming Party In honor of our departing friends, there will be a small gathering in Ten Forward tomorrow at 20.00 hours. Please come, I would love to meet all of you, as well as wish our comrades in arms the best of luck on their new missions before we part ways. Sending the message out, Donald stumbled over to his bed and fell happily asleep. (Reply Zzt, Lorak, Stolev, Any and All) (posted by Kaweo Kanoho) (USS Boudicca - Personal Quarters - Champlain CO - Captain Susan Rivers & Guest - 2345) Susan had transferred most of the belongings that had remained on the Boudicca over to the Kitty Hawk, and had returned for one last box before handing the quarters over to Commander Stakes. She thought dryly that very likely Stakes would not appreciate the transfer at this time of night, but at least the quarters would be ready for him tomorrow. She had already cleared out the FOs office, deeming that more important. She had arranged to meet Leonal in ten minutes; he too was clearing his quarters and she figured ten minutes was all she needed to finish up here. When she entered her former quarters she stood for a moment looking round. It would be hard leaving this ship; it had once been her first command and she had in some ways welcomed the chance to return. But now she had to leave her again, probably for good this time. A beep at her console interrupted the thoughts and she went to see what it was. An incoming message marked as urgent and for her eyes only from Ohlssen. She entered her codename and after a moment's thought the retrieval codes. She read the message and her eyes narrowed, her hand going to her commbadge to contact Sevant. "I really wouldn't, Captain. It would really p*** me off if I had to shoot you now, before I get what I need from you," a toneless metallic voice said from the bedroom door behind her. "Now place your phaser on the desk and step away from it. Towards the centre of the room." "Casely," she said flatly, as she did as he asked, her other hand pressing three keys as she turned and the message vanished as she moved where he had told her. "Or whatever your name really is." An unpleasant smile crossed his face but the phaser he was holding never wavered as he stepped into the room. "So that's what your urgent message was about." "Yes. It seems Casely's body finally turned up where you or your friends hid it. Theory is he died before that attack on his quarters, when his voice box was supposed to be damaged. That's when you replaced him, isn't it? Medical records substituted, but the one thing you couldn't match was his voice print. So you had to do something about that, didn't you. I hope it hurt," she said unpleasantly, her eyes locking with his. "Because it was all for nothing." "Not quite," he sneered. "I did manage to create some havoc as StratOps. And if I get rid of you, I can buy myself enough time to get away." Susan stared at him. "You're mad," she said. "You'd never get off the ship." As she looked his face changed grotesquely, morphing in front of her until she saw herself standing there. "I think I will," her voice said back. "You see, Captain, your source was... mistaken. I'm a Vendorian and I substituted myself for Casely *after* his voice box was replaced. But by the time they find that out in the autopsy, it'll be too late. You'll be dead, and I'll be... someone else. Or maybe I'll be Captain Rivers, with a whole ship full of people to command. That would be fun. And so much more useful than that arrogant idiot Casely turned out to be." It put the phaser down and reached out to her with both hands. Instinctively Susan backed away until she came up short against the sofa. "Come, come, it won't hurt... much," the shapeshifter said. "All I want are your memories and your personality. Everything that makes you... you." The door to the quarters opened and... (USS Boudicca - Personal Quarters - Champlain CO Captain Susan Rivers, Champlain MCO Major Drizzt and unknown Vendorian - 2351) "You know, it's a sad statement on society when…" Drizzt said flippantly as he stepped in the door. He stopped when he saw she had company however, but something wasn't 'quite' right. His first reaction when the person turned around was immediate… he pulled his phaser from his shoulder-holster in a fluid motion while dropping the bag he'd been carrying. There were TWO Susan Rivers standing in front of him, one backed into a corner and one who had just turned to look at him. The Andorian's antenna twitched as he took a step to the side, "Somebody is going to start explaining, now." He said in a tone that couldn't have been more different then when he'd first stepped in the door. His phaser was loosely trained between the two; it wouldn't take but a quarter heartbeat to re-target it. He made sure to keep moving sideways as he said, "Sooner rather then later." "I'm glad you're here, Leonal," the shapeshifter said, a split second before Susan could speak. "It's Casely - he - it - was a shapeshfter And a spy! The real Casely is dead. When I challenged him he - just changed into me! Shoot him!" Susan looked at Leonal levelly. "True enough," she said. "Except *that* is Casely, or was his form. But don't take my word. Shoot us both," she said. "Don't take the risk. Leave it to Caskie to find a way to tell between us." Drizzt's antenna twitched again, their heat-patterns were exactly the same and nothing else really identified them. Everything he could sense about them said that both were the same person. There might have been some deep philosophical point to that, but the Marine in him didn't care a fig at the moment. He came to a halt with his forefinger caressing the trigger to his phaser. "Lets make this simple. What's our private pet-name for each other, the one never used in public?" Susan flung the Vendorian a triumphant glance. "Well?" she said. "Why don't you tell him?" She looked back at Leonal, the ghost of a smile in her eyes despite the situation. "Ashke, make up your mind and shoot one of us, or both of us, huh?" Leonal looked at the one who had spoken for just a moment before the second, the one who had turned to face him, suddenly lunged. Drizzt’s finger twitched, and a phaser-beam took the creature straight in the face. The creature crumpled and slid another few inches before coming to a halt, not to far from Drizzt’s feet. The Marine kept his phaser loosely trained at the body as he looked back up, however. His face was still a mask, after being attacked by one Rivers- he wasn’t yet inclined to trust the second one. Susan sat down on the sofa abruptly. "You took your time to decide between us," she said, her flippant tone not quite hiding the relief she felt. "But eventually you made the right choice. On the other hand, I suppose I'd say that if you made the wrong choice." She gave a small smile and then sighed. "And now, I suppose, comes the clear-up." She carefully skirted around the dead alien went over to her terminal and brought up the message from Ohlsson again. "Computer, where is Captain Sevant?" [Captain Sevant is in his quarters] "Is he alone?" [Affirmative] "Open a secure channel to Captain Sevant." He quirked an eyebrow and gestured to the body interrogatively. "It's Casely," Susan said abruptly. "Or it was. It seems he was the spy." She gave the Boudicca Captain a run-down of the events of the last quarter of an hour, and showed him the message from Ohlsson about the real Casely's body turning up behind a wall in a hardly-used part of Geneva. "It fits," she said. "The messages to ships on our side in the battle that sent them off in wrong directions. Even the Hanwary murder. And I imagine if you have someone search his quarters, and break down all his messages and computer files, you'll find plenty of proof. Maybe even a list of his contacts." She looked at Leonal, suddenly aware that he had known nothing of this. "As you'll have gathered, I was originally sent here to seek out a spy. I have a feeling there's more to this than just one person; in fact it's likely since I don't see Casely, or whatever his real name was, working with a sleaze like Hanwary directly." She turned back to Sevant. "That will be for Stolev and his team to pursue, I would imagine? Unless you wanted to put Commander Stakes in charge?" Aleksander Stolev - Day 29 - 1506) Stolev and Stakes walked into the lounge together, Straton right behind them. ~Well, this is it,~ thought Stolev as he and Stakes took their places behind the judges table with Sevant, while Eva stood at attention before them. Sevant looked at Stolev and Stakes for a moment, the two ranking members of his command staff. He folded his hands together over his PADD and said, "Commander Stakes, Commander Stolev. You two shall serve as witnesses to what transpires here, and shall testify before any JAG officer that inquires as to the specific outcome of this General Inquiry. Am I understood?" "Yes, sir," replied Stolev stiffly, after a quick glance at Eva, who might as well have been carved from wax, so disciplined she was while at attention. (reply Stakes) The Captain nodded and looked at Straton, "Colonel Eva Straton, Starfleet Marine Corps. After a thorough Inquest into your personal actions on the planet Iradon, from Stardate 2407.02.22 until 2407.03.09, as Officer of the Court I find sufficient evidence to warrant a general Court Martial. Let it be known that you stand accused of Murder, Willful and Deliberate Disregard of the Prime Directive in regards to the peoples of the planet Iradon. Willful and Deliberate disregard of the Federation's Telepathic Moral Laws, again in regards to the peoples of the planet Iradon in addition to the individual Officers and Crew of the Starfleet Away Team sent to retrieve you. And, finally, Conduct Unbecoming a Starfleet Marine." He paused, "There is no need to plead or formally acknowledge these charges at this time, this Inquiry is over and you shall be offered Council once a Court Martial can be arranged." Sasha closed his eyes momentarily. He knew this had always been the likely outcome, but it didn't make it any easier to hear. Sevant stood, "Now that the Inquiry is officially over, I call upon Commander Stakes and Stolev to again bear witness. I, Captain Caladryll Sevant, do hereby place these charges and the ordered Court Martial in abeyance until such time as our State of Emergency has passed, for the good of the ship. I do so on this date, 2407.03.22, with and under the full authority of the Articles of War- the Federation then being in a State of War." Sasha raised his eyebrows in surprise as he turned to look at Sevant. While such an action was not totally unprecedented, Sasha had thought it would be highly unlikely, considering the severity of the charges. Apparently Sevant thought differently, a fact for which Sasha was grateful... for now at least. Sevant looked back at Straton after looking deeply into the faces of his two command officers. "Understand me, Colonel. You shall stand and answer these charges, but not until your essential duties to the ship have been dispensed and we are not in open conflict. Until that time, you shall continue as a full member of the crew without the specter of being condemned, you are innocent until proven guilty." Sevant picked up his PADD, "These are my orders on this subject. All three of you shall sign it as witnesses. Signing does not, under any circumstance, denote that you agree with my decision or precipitated it... only that you bare witness." He placed the PADD on the table again, "Proceed." Stolev waited for Stakes to take the PADD first, then he accepted it with a nod, keying in his own personal signature before handing it to Eva.
