He had checked all the science labs and the offices areas but had been unable to find him. In his eagerness to tell him about the latest results, it had never entered his mind to use the comm badge. Instead he decided that The Commander obviously would know. He waited whilst the Commander finished a comm communication with the Captain, who had thanked the Commander for performing his duty, before he made his way over to the command chair and came obtrusively to attention. "My Lord GrandMaster, pray permit me to request directions from thy good self as one has urgent business to discuss with one's master. Albeit, If GrandMaster will permit me, one could inform the Master of one's Master in order to reduce the amount of time lost when one would inform his Master, who would then inform the Master's Master, in order to bring all facts to the attention of those high placed persons in charge so that they may benefit from this when arriving at their decisions." Percival permitted himself a faint smile, to show his understanding of the ways of the Masters but short enough not to be presumptuous. "As thy good servant, if one is allowed to address oneself as such as one is under the auspices of Master Masterson, who himself is indeed under the auspices of  My Lord GrandMaster as I indeed understand that brevity is of the utmost importance to Good Sir, therefore as thy good servant was instructed to redetermine the rate of planetary decay due to the shift in gravitational fields due to the decay of the orbit of the planet's natural satellite, which I understand thy Good Self is acutely aware of, I instructed my team to perform the measurements again whilst I took the liberty to contact the science staff on the planetary surface in order to obtain the results that they had obtained as result of their continuous determination. They obliged so that I was able to cross reference the two sets of data, although one must admit that for sake of a speedy resolution one has used the set of data that has been collected by one's team yesterday eve. Yet I am convinced that regardless of this limited slight, the result of the cross reference will be sufficiently factual within the margin as determined by the significance calculations. As such I am confident that I can clearly state that with a significance rating of ninety nine point nine nine nine nine seven the two sets of data are significantly different from one another." Percival fell silent and allowed his eyebrow to move up to show the importance of the statement, but then quickly continued. "Please do not consider the quality of the work of our fellow scientists on the planetary surface to be of insufficient level. Indeed I myself considered this for a second but then considered alternative alternatives that could explain the difference. I believe utterly that the reason that they recorded the different result was due to the fact that the results were different, in that that they stemmed from different sources. One may ask how that would be possible but one would have to remember that by virtue of the collection of data, the different sources become apparent. One set was obtained by measuring the stresses in the planetary crust, the other set, our set, was obtained by gravitational measurements from space. Now, one would consider that both sources must yield the same result as indeed the subject is one and the same and upon preliminary investigation that would indeed appear to be." Percival nodded once. "However, what appears to be may not be so. Further investigation of the planetary crust structure has shown me that this would be one of those cases of mistaken assureties. It was found that the crust of the planet has two layers of granite-like sedimentary deposits. In between the two layers, that stretch across the whole planetary surfaces, there exist a .... cavity. This cavity is filled with a liquefied layer of organic deposits. It is my belief that this layer of liquefied material is the cause of the discrepancy as it is modeled to act as a layer of stress absorbing ..... liquid. Therefore the stresses measured in the top layer would be less than in the lower layer, hence the difference in measured values. Whilst on the planetary surface the stresses seemed to indicate a period of five or six months before the planetary crust structures would collapse, in reality the lower layers would collapse in as little as three. Of course this would result in the top layers to collapse as well, perhaps a few seconds later in time. But definitely not two to three months as the planetary stress calculations would indicate. Is my Lord GrandMaster suffering from an ailment?" (Reply Lord GrandMaster, Any) (posted by Adrie Geuken) (SS Wanderlust - Section 17 - WL Engineer Screwhead- 17:42) "Tell me Screwhead, what do you recall about my parents." The dwarf looked at the young man and grinned as he pointed to the way they should walk. "Your mother was a cutie," he said. "Peppie was mightily impressed. So much that he offered to trade the Rheingold for her, but your father declined. The Rheingold was our previous ship, before Leprechaun traded her in for this one. But when your father refused, Peppie threw a party and tried to get your father drunk enough so he would agree to play dice for her. They drank for four hours during which Guinevere, that is Peppie's wife, got tired of the shenanigans, took your mother to the garden that she had planted herself and in the next morning took a rolling pin to Peppie's head. Your mother stopped the bleeding quite professionally, by the way, even though that head wounds seem to bleed quite profusely. Anyway, at the end Peppie apologised to your father, whilst Guinevere was standing behind him with the rolling pin still in her arms and your mother and Guinevere parted as best friends. Ok, we need to go up here. Oh, it will take me a few days to get the films. Like I said, there are quite a few." (reply Ben, any) (posted by Adrie Geuken) (SS Wanderlust - Section 17 - ATac Ensign Ben Soma- 17:44) Ben listened intently as Screwhead recanted the story. He recalled that his mother was pretty but never assumed she was pretty enough to trade a ship for, but then everyone had a different degree of pretty. He found it funny that the little blue dwarf was smiling as he told the tale, he must have enjoyed the show as Ben would have if he had witnessed it. ".....They drank for four hours during which Guinevere, that is Peppie's wife, got tired of the shenanigans, took your mother to the garden that she had planted herself and in the next morning took a rolling pin to Peppie's head........" Screwhead said. Ben could never recall actually seeing his father drink anything other than Vulcan tea and the occasional coffee when he was working late into the night and said he needed a little picker upper. He continued to listen as Screwhead explained how Peppie's head bleed profusely and his mother patched him up, he remembered what an excellent healer his mother was. When he had been a boy he had fallen out of a tree in the holosuite and broken his arm, his mother mended the break and he couldn't recall the slightest itch as the bone was reknitted. "Ok, we need to go up here. Oh, it will take me a few days to get the films.  Like I said, there are quite a few." Screwhead finished. Ben turned in the indicated direction and said. "Take your time, seems like we have a few months before we'll be parting company. Thank you for looking for the films as well as telling me the story about my parents." (reply Screwhead) (posted by Milo) (U.S.S. Mithrandir - Ready Room - CO, Captain Archibald Stakes - 21:09) "No Sir, I have my orders, is that all?" Archibald made a gesture with his hand. "You're free to go, Ensign. You're dismissed." He watched the ACMO leave and blew his hands with touted lips to cool them. He rolled his tongue around in his mouth while he sat and closed down the file on his computer. After a few seconds of contemplation, he sighed. "Make the call," he instructed the computer before he took a sip from his coffee and pulled a face when it was cold. He got up and poured a fresh cup and by the time he had returned to his seat, the screen flashed up and showed the face of an Asian man. "And?" the man said. Archibald shrugged. "If I didn't know better, I would say that she is legit. She reacted with indignation but with control." The man on the other side nodded. "I would have been surprised if she hadn't. I told you, she's good." Archibald grunted. "Or she is legit." he responded. "Or she is legit," the other man agreed. "But when you have done this as long as I have ...... She ticks all the right boxes, gets all the good grades, shows a maturity for her age that is remarkable. Or remarkably unbelievable." "Good grades? Her flying didn't get those." "That was to be expected. It's very easy to make yourself appear incompetent when flying a shuttle. A little subterfuge, to throw you off the track.  A blemish on an otherwise perfect file." "Still not enough to count as evidence." "Of course not. But she has been together with John Ritchie, a man with known Tal Shiar connections. And there is this....." The face of the Asian was replaced with a picture of a Romulan woman with the face similar to Ava, which made Archibald whistle sharply. "You will see that the likeness is uncanny, and note the Tal Shiar symbol on her shoulder," the voice continued from behind the picture. "This one was taken on Remus five years ago." Archibald knotted his eyebrows. "I admit there is more than just a striking resemblance," Archibald responded," but if I remember correctly Ava is human? Surely the Academy medical examinations showed she was human? And *she* is clearly Romulan or Vulcan. The eyebrows and ears show that." "True, but according some of our tech hot shots if you look at the ears on the photograph there seems to be a 'smear' in the area between the pointed area of the ears and the ear shells, like they were not natural but 'glued' on. Which means that although Ava may be Human, the woman on the photograph may not be Romulan. Be reminded that our doctors can do a very good job turning a Human into a Romulan, so the Romulans should be able to do the same." The picture was taken away. "So when I had her in my holodeck I turned on the screws. Hard. And yet, she didn't flinch. I expect just like when you did." "That is still not evidence," Archibald interjected. "Which is why she was allowed to go through," the man responded. "There is a small chance that this all is just an unlucky set of circumstances and that she is really that good. To be honest, I hope she is. We could do with a few more of that caliber, especially after the war. But until we can be sure, we should consider that she is not what she seems to be. And as her new CO, I thought I should mention this to you, just so you know." Archibald sighed. "I'm still not convinced." he said. "As you should," the Asian replied. "We aren't either. Just extremely careful. As you should be. So watch it. But on the other hand, I can remember this cadet of mine who came to his meditation class wearing a kilt. He turned out ok, didn't he?" Archibald nearly grunted. "It was St. Andrew's Day," he responded. "We all did." "Not on his head." the Asian replied with a smile. "But keep me apprised, Captain. I have an .... interest in her." Archibald nodded once at the screen and finished the call. "With the transporters being used to transfer people back and forth between the Mithrandira and the freighters, we're moving prefabricated neutronium Bussard components on shuttles..." The pilot, E. O. Hawke, listened patiently as the officer he was chauffeuring spoke in Klingon - a language he did understand somewhat. When the oversized half-Klingon finished her recording, Hawke spoke his mind. "First of all, it ain't 'Mithrandira,'" he said. "It's Mithrandir-A. The A ain't part'a th' name." "I know that!" said Lanista. "But 'Mithrandirah' sounds better than 'Mithrandir-Ay.'" "Better or not, you're wrong," said Hawke. "Are you trying to provoke me?" asked ACEO Lanista. She looked the pilot over. He was seated, his hands occupied with flying the shuttle, and he was well within reach. "'Course I ain't. Was a time when my people 'n' yers killed each other, but them days are gone. Hell, not long gone, mind you. Not too long ago there were a few renegade Boneheads on the Darn-Nutz side. Shot them to Grethor right quick." "It's ghe'tor," corrected Lani'. "ghe'tor, schme'tor," said Zeke, "you know what I meant." "And you know what I mean by 'Mithrandira,'" Lani' said. "As to you shooting petaQpu' into ghe'tor, I'm sure they deserved it. But in case you hadn't noticed, I'm inside this craft, and this craft is not a fighter. I am not a viable target." With the last word, Lani' leaned close to Hawke and smiled, showing teeth. Hawke immediately shut up. He wasn't sure exactly when he'd lost the upper hand. "We're coming up on the Wanderlust," he said, suddenly the professional again. Lanista sat back in her chair and grinned as the pilot landed the shuttle in Wanderlust's bay. "Mithrandir-Ay Shuttle to SS Wanderlust," said Hawke, "We're on final. We've got the goods you've been expecting." (Reply any) (Posted by Frank) (USS Mithrandir - Deck One, FO's Office - Ensign Ava McGregor - 0701) "You look like you could use a bit of breakfast, Ensign." The first officer noted as he stopped by the replicator. "I wouldn't say no, sir." Ava admitted ruefully as her stomach growled. "I hope you will indulge me and allow me to select something." Ava could not help herself she found herself smiling back, She inclined her head,  "Please, whatever your having will be fine." It was with a sinking heart that the young ensign watched the first officer set the table. On the one hand she found herself immediately comfortable in his company and much more at ease then she had been with the captain. On the other her brain was filing protests from her stomach and demanding coffee. Hot, viscous and exploding with potent caffeine. Powerful enough to recharge her synapses and get her set for the next part of the day. "Please eat.  When you're young you think you can live forever on air and energy." ~Coffee ~ Her inner voice was plaintive and just a little but whiney, ~Maragogype and an apple danish. Oh gods, what I wouldn't give for an apple and cinnamon danish right about now!~ With much more external composer Ava watched Olorin place his hands together before picking up a bowl of what smelt like fresh sea water and then he took a sip. The young doctor's shoulders slumped ever so slightly in defeat. She knew somehow he would not be offended if she were to excuse herself and get exactly what she craved from the replicator. But it was not the done thing, manners were important, especially when you were taking breakfast with the first officer of the Mithrandir for the first time. He was also she thought perhaps ages with her father and that in itself demanded polite obedience. No, this morning she would dine on manners, respect, vegetables and rice. "So, Ensign, I understand you are newly arrived.  You look as if you have pulled an all nighter." "There is so much to do Commander," Ava said as she picked up the second set of chopsticks and waited politely for Olorin to make his choices, "I thought i would get an early start this morning." A small bowl of rice and chopsticks with practiced ease took up her vegetable of choice, "The Tarellian class transports are not exactly fit for purpose.... At least now i know what I'm dealing with." (Reply Okita) "I'm confident we'll meet the deadline, it will be tight, but we're liaising closely with Professor Halgin and his team on New Eden." (Reply Okita) Another vegetable and a little bit of rice. "It's a challenge sir, certainly, but it's not insurmountable." (Reply Okita) (Posted by Jodie) (USS Mithrandir - Deck One, FO's Office - FO Cmdr. Olorin Okita - 0710) Olorin sat and listened attentively, nodding in understanding as the ensign spoke.  He smiled as she ate, laughing a little inwardly. ~She is polite,~ he observed, as he chewed his salmon, enjoying the rich flavor mixed with the rice.  ~And eager.~ "I am certain that you and your department will be able to accomplish this goal," Olorin agreed.  "After all we have little choice.  If we do not leave soon, we may lose more people to tectonic and other geological problems." He placed his empty rice bowl down and picked up his cup.  "I understand that several thousand refugees have already transferred to the freighters in orbit.  Have you encountered any issues with setting up triages?" he asked, before taking a sip. (Reply McGregor) (Reply McGregor, Any) (posted by Kaweo Kanoho) (USS Mithrandir - Deck One, FO's Office - Acmo Ensign (jg) Ava McGregor.0713) "I understand that several thousand refugees have already transferred to the freighters in orbit.  Have you encountered any issues with setting up triage?" There was only such much rice and vegetables Ava could stomach. With relief she set aside her bowl and chopsticks and picked up the PADD she had placed to one side at the beginning of this morning meal. An excuse to finish with her breakfast as in truth she had absolutely no need to refer to it, "The SS Puddlefoot and the SS Anemoi are the only two freighters at the moment who are in any fit state to take on refugees. Currently we have two thousand, three hundred and fifty-six split between the two ships." A tiny frown of concentration briefly marred her forehead, "The initial triage teams comprise of the the freighters medic and two auxiliary staff, they're  undertaking the primary assessments and are following our own protocols. It's not ideal but they will be supplemented by New Eden medical personnel as the transfers continue." Ava glanced up from the PADD, " Some refugees are coming in by shuttle others are being evaced by transporters. The freighters Bio filters are barely adequate so we are taking no chances. This is a fairly new colony, it is almost impossible for initial survey teams to catch everything and before you know it you have something exotic, highly virulent, and extremely deadly on your hands." The young doctor blinked as she realised she sounded just a little bit overly enthused about that prospect and felt the need to follow that up quickly with, "Fortunately at the moment nothing has been encountered that a standard Medkit can't deal with." (Reply Okita) (Posted by Jodie) (USS Mithrandir - Deck One, FO's Office - FO Cmdr. Olorin Okita - 0715) Olorin listened intently as the ensign answered his question.  He was refilling his cup when the ensign started to speak about exotic, deadly and virulent all in one sentence.  His body froze and his head turned to look at her presently. Seemingly aware of her over enthusiasm, she caught herself and ended her report on a much calmer tone. Olorin nodded in response to her report and drank from his cup.  He looked at the table and noticed that she had made every effort to consume what he had selected, but it did not appear that she would make much further headway.  He smiled and began to put the dishes back onto the tray. "I am glad to hear that you are taking to your work, Ensign." he said, as he stood and picked up the tray.  "But you should be honest with me, no matter how slight the matter.  It will not hurt my feelings.  Now, what would you really like to eat?" He walked over to the replicator and placed the tray back to be recycled.  "You have a lot of work before you and I refuse to send you out on an empty stomach.  Besides then I will learn what to serve the next time and I somehow doubt you will stop at a replicator anytime soon.  So juice?  Coffee, perhaps?" he said, with a smile, his fingers on the console ready to input her order. (Reply McGregor, Any) (posted by Kaweo Kanoho) (USS Mithrandir - Deck One, Hallway - ACEO Ensign j.g. Elith Rejal - 0720) ~So, the First Officer wants to meet with me. Does every department head want to have a chat with the new Cardassian? Perhaps I should have brought flowers.~ Elith walked briskly to the FO's office. He had spent much of the previous night going over the current mission, specifically the status of each freighter, and the Mithrandir as well. This resulted in very little sleep, however he was quite used to it and therefore didn't show any signs of fatigue. The strong Cardassian coffee aided in that. Arriving at the office a few minutes before the requested time of 0730, Elith tried to straighten his uniform. He really did hate Federation uniforms, he was never able to get comfortable in them. Then again, he was used to Cardassian uniforms all his life, it would take a few more years to figure out these Federation uniforms. He gave up on adjusting it, and started to walk forward when the doors opened. A woman in a blue uniform walked out of the office, Elith recognized her from the shuttle. ~She's probably that other new officer, looks like I'm not the only popular person here.~ "Good morning, Ensign," Elith said to her. (Reply McGregor, ifw) After she left, Elith pressed the chime, and entered in a few moments. ~Well...this is new.~ This new office was completely different than the captain's, understandably so as the FO was of a different Earth race. Still, the changes were quite drastic. He had to admit, he preferred this look than the others he had seen, perhaps it was so different than what he had come to expect. Elith's expression relaxed slightly as he walked up to the FO. "Good morning, Commander Okita. I am Ensign Elith Rejal, reporting in as ordered, sir." (Reply Okita) (Posted by Matt Kirk) (USS Mithrandir - Deck One, FO's Office - FO Cmdr. Olorin Okita - 0725) Olorin had just finished with Ensign McGregor and was now preparing for his next appointment.  His interactions with Cardassians on a social basis was very limited.  But through his experiences, he had learned that no matter the race, one could have a stereotype in mind and then be prepared to alter it according to the individual.  And he expected this to be no different. The chime sounded and Olorin said, "Enter" The doors slid open to admit his guest. In walked the tall Cardassian engineer, who said, "Good morning, Commander Okita. I am Ensign Elith Rejal, reporting in as ordered, sir." Olorin rose and bowed in greeting.  "Welcome, Ensign, please take have a seat.  I could get more cushions if it would make it more comfortable?" Olorin offered, extending his hand motioning toward the cushion across from him. (Reply Rejal) "Can I get you something to eat?  I know that it is early, but we all have full days ahead and I wished to meet you before your duties and mine carried us on our way." said Okita with a smile. (Reply Rejal) (Reply Rejal, Any) (posted by Kaweo Kanoho) (S.S. Hingis - Outside Transporter Room - ACEO Ensign j.g. Elith Rejal - 0857) "Seems like Mr. Williams does not trust you." Morgan said. "Freighter crews are a little more xenophobic then the rest of the Federation population, they don't have our resources and are sometimes targeted by pirates for their cargo, or at times just for target practise. They are a very tight group and don't take well to outsiders. Pretty sure he doesn't like me any more than he does you." Morgan said with a smile. Elith saw Williams nod to himself. He had seen many kinds of this behavior in his life, when he worked on a few freighters with his father and when he was an engineer in the war. Williams acted much like Cardassian crewmen, other than the slight respect they showed towards the military. He found the situation a little ironic. He turned back to Randell, "Then, they are much like Cardassian freighter crews, the main difference being that Cardassian crews recognize the importance of the Cardassian military, and often set aside any problems when they're forced to work together." "I'm glad that I'm not a Cardassian freighter crewman." Williams said. "You should be; the Hingis is like a Starfleet ship compared to most Cardassian freighters." Elith had seen a lot of freighters that were flying "on a wing and a prayer", as the Earth saying went; many more in worse condition. He hoped that the Hingis wouldn't be that bad. At least this time, he had someone working with him. He didn't know if that was a bad thing or not yet. (Reply Randell, room for a little bit more) (S.S. Hingis - Outside Transporter Room -Crewman Morgan Randell- 0859) "I'm glad that I'm not a Cardassian freighter crewman." Williams said. "You should be; the Hingis is like a Starfleet ship compared to most Cardassian freighters." Elith said. Morgan listened to the exchange between Elith and Williams, what Elith said held some truth to it. He had seen Cardassian freighters that he would not dream of boarding to cross a single parsec let alone a two month voyage. As far as freighters went this one appeared to be in excellent condition. "You should listen to him Mr.  Williams, you are privileged to be on a vessel in such good condition, I've seen some preliminary reports on the other freighters and quite frankly I surprised they hold together at impulse. The fact they can actually enter warp at all is a small miracle." Morgan said. (reply Elith/Williams iyw) (S.S. Hingis - Main Engineering - ACEO Ensign j.g. Elith Rejal - 0901) Morgan nodded to Elith as he approached the console indicated by Mr. Williams, "Let's dig in." He said, "We have a lot of work to do in a very short time. A diagnostic on their engines and EPS system would probably be the best place to start." "I agree." Elith said as he started keying in commands for the console to run a Level 3 Diagnostic for the engines and the EPS system. He turned to Williams, "Mr. Williams, we require your verification for this diagnostic, would you please?" "If it'll get you off this ship faster, sure." He walked to the console and input his access codes. The diagnostic started. ~Ten minutes until we find out how much work I-we-have to do.~ He turned to Randell, "While we wait for this to finish, we can check some of the other systems. It should save us some time." (Reply Randell) (Posted by Matt Kirk) (SS Wanderlust- Comms Station- ATac Ensign Ben Soma - 0902) Ben had been relaying information about the freighter to the Mithrandir throughout the night, using an encryption code he had sent the mining request from Lanista as well as his suspicions about some cargo that this particular freighter was hauling, he had yet to gain access to other areas of the ship to confirm or dismiss these decisions. Lanista had been working throughout the night making repairs to the Wanderlust's engines, she was a little more comfortable on the freighter than Ben was. She fit in better, almost like the crew had accepted her. Ben on the other hand was regarded with distain and mistrust. He hadn't come out and said he was a security officer, but was pretty sure Screwhead and Leprechaun knew what he was. His safety was jeopardized, if the freighters crew discovered what he was planning they would turn on him. He would then find out if all those martial arts lessons would pay off. A comm signal interrupted his thoughts, =/\=Shrekt to Soma.=/\= Ben responded over the freighters comm system. "Soma here Lieutenant." =/\=I need an update on your progress, Ensign.=/\= Shrekt said. "Repairs are proceeding on schedule. Ensign Lanista is relining the tubes with Neutronium. I have been monitoring her progress periodically when I take a break from the technical logs regarding the ionic drive." Ben said knowing that as a seasoned veteran Shrekt would pick up on what he didn't say while listening to what he did say. He couldn't say he hadn't been able to find any contraband or dangerous cargo on board but knew Shrekt would be looking for that update as well. (reply Shrekt) (posted by Milo) (USS Mithrandir - Deck 3, Security - TAC/SC Lt (sg) Joan Shrekt - 0903) Shrekt listened to the report with a keen ear, unsure who Soma might be around and what he could say in such company. ~Hmmm, he must not be alone.~ she thought, as she noted what he said.  ~Ionic drive?!?~ "Understood, Ensign.  Carry on for now.  I may have new orders for you before the day is out.  Keep me appraised of your situation." she said.  "Shrekt out." With the communication closed, Shrekt updated her information.  From the lack of data in his report and since this was the first one she had received since he transported over to the Wanderlust yesterday, Shrekt had to assume nothing had been turned up. Which was a good and bad thing.  She hoped that it meant that the freighter crew was being cooperative and that they would expect little to no issues with them.  She hoped that Soma would file something more substantive soon.  But then too much hoping could get them into deep trouble.  She cursed inwardly at the small staff she had to work with and wishing Starfleet was in better shape so that they could have sent a larger vessel to shepherd the freighters.  Orders were orders though. Pulling up some additional data for her next call, Shrekt reviewed it before calling Sanok. (Reply Any) (posted by Kaweo Kanoho) (S.S. Hingis - Main Engineering - Crewman Morgan Randell- 0903) Elith agreed with Morgan that a diagnostic of the engines and EPS system was a good place to start. Williams had to enter his access codes in order for the diagnostic to be run. Williams seemed annoyed that the two Starfleet engineers were checking up on his engines, which was understandable, all engineers were protective over their engines. But they had a job to do and orders to follow so Williams would have to deal with them regardless of how he felt about their presence. Elith turned to Morgan and said, "While we wait for this to finish, we can check some of the other systems. It should save us some time." " Your right," Morgan replied." we have little time and we shouldn't waste any of it. If Mr. Williams has no objections I would like to inspect the injector assembly." Shrekt took a breath.  She had struggled with whether she would do what she was going to do next.  The previous day had been a shocking example of insubordination.  At the same time, there was little choice.  He could do it and she would keep a close eye on him. The silence stretched but a hair longer than was comfortable and Shrekt spoke again. "I've received the files from the Colonel.  I am forwarding them to you to review.  During our transit, the Captain wants to station all but ten of us on the freighters working in pairs.  I will remain onboard the Mithrandir to coordinate the fleet for defensive purposes.  I would like you to coordinate our team on the freighters." she said. Mithrandir - CO's Quarters - CO - Captain Archibald Stakes - 20:09) Archibald licked his lips as he gazed at the clock in his living room. They would be here soon. "Computer! Record personal log entry." [Recording] "Stardate 24080620. Having completed the transfer of the civilians onto the freighters, we are now en route to Gamma Hygachi Orestes. So far no further disturbances have been reported and all seems to be quiet. Which is good because I don't think we could manage any more upsets. The freighters, especially the Tarellian ones, are a disgrace and should never have been selected for this mission. I am still unclear how our Engineers actually managed to make the ships capable of Warp 5, but the risky mining of Neutronium from a nearby sun's core was apparently necessary to do so. I should give credit to the officers and crew of the engineering and operations departments. Not only did they manage to repair the engines but they also managed to install disused medical equipment on the freighters from the planetary hospitals. I understand that in one of the hastily constructed wards a child was born at 3 o'clock this morning. Mother and daughter are well, the father apparently less so, having suffered a nervous breakdown ........ the wimp .......... Ensign McGregor is currently in charge of the Mithrandir medical research facilities, assisted by two nurses and the LMH. As for the status of Ensign McGregor, I have given this a lot of thought and although the indications are that she is Romulan operative, Takano did not show me any credible evidence of this and as such I cannot restrict her, now will I do so. Doctor Nymes will continue to look after the crew on board this vessel as well as oversee any major surgical procedures that are required. Ensigns Lanista and Rejal are still spending a lot of time on the freighters to make sure they will keep going. So far no incident between them has been recorded. Ensigns Sanok and Soma are also spending time on the freighters as show of force and good will. The open positions on this ship have been filled by the holo-security officers. On the whole I think we should see this as a successful start of the mission, nobody was left on the planet's surface even if it meant that we had to unload a considerable amount of supplies. But I understand from Starfleet that another freighter is being drafted to ferry more supplies to Gamma Hygachi Orestes, which should arrive two months after we arrive. So far we are still on schedule, and we should reach the Felangi Expanse in one and a half months time. Then one week flying through the expanse and one and a half weeks more to reach the planet. That is if we don't get delayed somewhere in between. Luckily any delays won't cause too many problems as we now hold the New Eden community. But still, it's a long way to go and who knows what will happen." Archibald fell silent then heard his door chime ring. "Computer, end recording." He then went over to the door and let it slide open. Esme got a short nod as she took a step back and allowed the two guests that she had collected from one of the VIP quarters to meet up with her father. "Prime Director, Mrs. Osiris. I'm glad that you were able to make it. Please come in. Are your quarters acceptable?" (Reply Dak, Reyna, any) (Posted by Adrie Geuken)
