Some of the information you have told me was not on the PADD; much of it is too detailed to be 'second hand' as you indicated; you describe procedures and the facility as if you have been there; and I am simply an untrusting soul. Now tell me; who do you and your friends work for?" This confused her a little, since she had already told them that she was a worker at the facility. "I don't understand." she said, "What do you mean my friends? Revala?" "Yes, her." Chance simply said as he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees as he interlaced his fingers together. "She's an archaeologist, as I said." Ios explained, "I work for the Government, or I did anyway. I'm a senior data clerk at the facility. I used to be the Mater of the Archives there, but politics...." Canting his head suddenly to one side "Don't hold back, tell me about the politics." She sighed, "Politics have a way of working against half-Mols even when they are more than adequately qualified for the position. And I don't recall indicating that any of what I said was second hand information. I already told your friends about me and where I work. I don't have any classified access to information outside the facility, no one does, except maybe the facility commander and the highest levels of the Union Government. I am not one of those to be certain." She replied. After taking a deep breath and releasing it, "Let me tell you something to help put you at ease," he started saying "First, let me explain that I have no love for politicians; I have no patients for politics; and I hate racist bigots of ALL colors. "As for the 'Second Hand Information' comment; you said, and I quote 'I've been told that there are detectors scattered through out that area to keep anyone from approaching the facility on foot or by ground vehicle. They don't arrest you if you breach the area. They just shoot on sight. There are no roads not that I know of anyway.' unquote. "Just so you know; I'm not overly concerned with my own well being, but I am excessively concerned with the lives and safety of the other Federation members in this system. Need I say more on that subject?" (Reply Ios) "Now is there anything else whatsoever that you can think of to tell me about the daily routine of the facility? Chow, mail system, shipping and receiving of supplies and equipment, roadways, access to the archives, anything no matter how mundane will be useful." "About second hand information." "I used to be pretty high up in the administration of the Facilities Leadership." She explained. "When I said I've been told, I meant told by a security officer at a briefing. I phrased it that way, because I haven't actually witnessed these countermeasures personally, and it has been a couple of years since that meeting took place, so something may have changed. Does that help any?" "Just so you know; I'm not overly concerned with my own well being, but I am excessively concerned with the lives and safety of the other Federation members in this system. Need I say more on that subject?" Charlie explained. Ios shook her head before answering, "No. I understand you Charlie. I Have just as much concern for the lives and well being of my people as you do yours which is why I protested shutting everything down earlier. But I unlike some in our government understand the difference between doing what's necessary because you have to and doing what you think is necessary because it fits a personal agenda." "Kidnapping anyone, especially someone that has done you no harm just so you can torture them and steal their technology isn't necessary, it's wrong. I think it's my duty to put a stop to that sort of behavior if I can, don't you?" He didn't answer her, instead she could tell that they had the same opinion of the situation through the way he squared his shoulders as he continued. "Now is there anything else whatsoever that you can think of to tell me about the daily routine of the facility? Chow, mail system, shipping and receiving of supplies and equipment, roadways, access to the archives, anything no matter how mundane will be useful." She looked at him oddly for a moment. "I don't know what chow is?" she said the end of her sentence showing some question. (reply Chance) "Oh meal times. " She said pinkening slightly. "I suppose that the security people have some sort of set schedule, but I don't know it. Most of the scientists and other workers just take lunch when they feel like it. " "As for Mail, I assume you mean messaging?" (reply chance) "That's all handled electronically. There's no physical mail." She replied, and then continued by answering the next part of his question, "Most materials that are needed for the research is reproduced on site. There's a replication division whose sole job is to do just that. For the things that we can not replicate, they are scheduled by the facility Logistics office. I don't think there's a regular schedule, although I could be wrong on that." "As I said earlier, there are no roads that I know of. As for access to the archives. I can get us in any time. I know the codes." She tapped the side of her head to show what she meant, but they are just informational access now. Nothing like what I used to have." Steven Matrix - Day 7- 1706) Matrix was nearly finished hashing through the broken mesh of wires and consoles and had managed to get the feedback initiated and engaged. The rescue seemed to be going at a snails pace. ~Set!~ "Set!" Shouted Matrix. Rosenbauer gave and anxious order..."Sam, Steve. We have to go, Reinforcements are a few kilometers out and approaching fast. We need to be gone before they arrive." As Matrix exited the runabout he nearly tripped over the mess of debris around the area. The pain in his left shoulder reminded him that he wasn't out of danger yet. "Countdown has started...clear the area...move move!!!" shouted Matrix. He adjusted the shirt a bit as he had the height but lacked the bulk of its previous owner. "Sasuil? Merely adequate? Your standards seem to be set on the stratospheres, which probably means same standards are applied to your work. Good, my previous doctor seemed to find wiping the scalpel to a sleeve to be the ultimate in sterilizing." "How is the leg" Kimiko inquired "were the any other injuries that are bothering you?" "My legs are feeling weak but seem to be fine enough but my left arm feels tensed, it might be due a bent pin in the radius. The feeling is similar to the time my arm was pinned by a container and the pin was forcibly twisted." Machaire rotated his arm to locate the exact spot and pointed it to the doctor. It had no discoloration nor other marks. Kimiko ran her hands along the arm and noticed a knot. "I do not believe a pin has actually bent, but it appears that muscle has been slightly twisted with the aid of pin" Kimiko stated while working the muscle "That is, of course, on of the hazards of this particular surgical technique; however, a couple of minutes in the right hands and ...." The doctor gave one swipe with her thumb and felt the muscle fall into place "blossom in spring, how does that feel?" (Reply Rabhartaigh) " Thank you for the offer but we should return to that on a better time, there are many things in need of renovations in my body which are not time critical. The Cardassion surgery might be crude but it is surprisingly functional. Must be all that emphasis on military that advances such research. But the shoulder joint on my right side could be due for replacement, it is much older than the rest and somewhat weightier too. " Rabhartaigh rotated the shoulder and winced "Thirty years ago the CCF medical technology was sub-par but getting a distruptor blast to ones shoulder through a bulkhead made a number on it, it was like a marog. All jiggly and jellylike, so even sub-par was superior. And would not mind getting rid of the scar tissue at the sides of my mouth. It has been hardening and affecting my pronunciation a bit, I am starting to sound like a bomanta, you know, a Scot." "I see, well I believe we could come up with something a little more comfortable then steel" Kimiko stated "and I would be doing the procedures shipboard, at your convenience" Kimiko saw the lanky ensign turned away from the hypo. ~I guess I would be a little gun-shy around physicians myself, if I had had as many procedures as he.~ the doctor thought "Okay, now pigmentation will take about 10 minutes to take hold, about the same time to solidly affix you 'horns' If you develop a rash, burn, substantial itching, color-tinged vision or any other symptoms, regardless of how inconsequential, let me know, did you have any questions for me?" Machaire pondered a moment. " Yes, would you have eyedrops in your kit? Those oily type, I do not know what those are called in the fleet but those nearly eliminate the blinking reflex while keeping the eyes moist. I really miss those drops but at the suggestion of academy councillor I stopped using them. He was telling that me not blinking made people nervous but the constant flicker of my eyes is driving me ar buile, totally crazy." He rubbed his eyes a bit as an emphasis. "Blinking is an important function for the eye, not only to moisten the eye and I would rather not proscribe you something to remove it for prolonged periods, but I think I can produce drops of a more heartier substance" The Doctor replied "I should be able to replicate some in a hour" (Reply Rabhartaigh) (Posted by Jack) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix - Khoda City - Second District - The Villa - AFO - Lt Cmdr T'Larah Sullivan - 1746) Ensign Sanok walked in the room to report in after the mission. He began with Vulcan efficiency, getting straight to the point. "The officers asked to see my papers," said Sanok. "I knew that if they called in my identification, they would discover that the ID was not legitimate. I had to incapacitate the officers, one by a nerve pinch, the other with a phaser stun. I made sure I was not being followed before returning here. "Since I was stopped just up the road from this villa, the police may canvas this neighborhood. It may be prudent for us to leave this place, or at least find a way to not be discovered here if the police do come," he finished. "If you are sure you were not followed. Then there is very little distinguishing this house from the neighbors. I've been reviewing Irlixian law, thanks to some of the data our team has retrieved, and if they follow their own laws they are required to have a warrant from the district magistrate, or evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that a capital crime is being committed. It will take some time to get a proper warrant." (Reply Sanok) "Secondly, we will need a place to go. I refuse to leave a defensible position with out at least a direction of travel. We will allow Charlie maximum time to accomplish the task he has been appointed. I am confident that he has a route or two figured out but I wanted all the possibilities mapped out." she explained. (Reply Sanok) "Mister Sanok, I appreciate your candor. I think that making our position less visible to the populace is a good idea. If you and Mike can work on spreading the word about light, noise and litter discipline. No conversations above a whisper in any room on an outer wall. No white lights outside after twilight. If lights must be used a red or blue filtered lens will be applied if lights must be used. Check with one of the Doctors and see if there is a particular spectrum of light that is visible to us and not the Irlixians, then filter night lenses with that. If you have any questions, Mike is your subject matter expert. He is Ranger qualified and I would be surprised if he hasn't already started some of the measures we discussed." (Reply Sanok) "Any further questions for me?" she asked. (Reply Sanok, room for more) Once it was concluded. Mister Sanok you have your orders, you are dismissed. (Reply Sanok) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix - Khoda City - Second District - The Villa - Ensign Machaire Rabhartaigh - Day 7 - 1747) Machaire thanked of the muscle manipulation and waited for the treatment to end. He scratched the outer edge of his right eye with his fingertip and pushed hairs behind his ear. Then he touched his new horns and memorised the extend of them. Facial dimensions had been altered and knowing those would be the difference between a horned man and merely man with horns. "A blink is also the time unit between life and death, that fragment of time where issues of grandest importance reside, be they solutions, problems or transitions." He took one of the medical tools from the tray and rotated it rapidly between his thumb and forefinger. His fingers worked fast to allow the tool to rotate and even increase the rotational speed. "Ups!" The tool spun out of control and fell, spinning end over end as it fell. Machaire snatched it from air before it reached too high a velocity to be caught easily. " Blink. ", he said as he put the tool back. " A lifetime in an instant. I rather not lose any more of those, if possible. But alas, might be time for me to go and see if I can be of any use." --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Second District, The Villa, Ensign sg Sanok, Day 7, 1748) Sullivan said, "If you are sure you were not followed, then there is very little distinguishing this house from the neighbors'. It will take some time to get a proper warrant." "Indeed. If they follow their own laws," said Sanok. At this point, there was little reason to think they would not. As of right now, the encounter with the police would be filed as a bad encounter with a suspected criminal. It would take time for all the pieces to be put together by an agency high enough to have all the information. It was reasonable to expect they would be safe in the villa for the time being. Sullivan added that she was not yet willing to leave, as they didn't have anywhere else to go. She then concluded her orders by telling him to go to the others to make sure proper field protocols were being followed. It would be foolish to give themselves away because of a silly mistake that could easily have been prevented. "Acknowledged," said Sanok. "Any further questions for me?" said Sullivan. "No, Sullivan," said Sanok, following the one-name order that had been given. After being dismissed, he began to carry out his orders. Each seemed young to Jackson. One of them was named Eian O'Neil and the other Machaire Rabhartaigh. Tom asked each what their computer skills were. O'Neil was apparently more outgoing replied first. "I wouldn't call myself a whiz, but I know a bit about computers. I'm more of a mechanical person than an electronics person, but I can do basic hook-ups, hacking, and any hardware repair you mght need." "Excellent. Thank you Eian". Rabhartaigh spoke next and said he too had some computer skills. "Don't down play your skills Machaire. We are not sure quite what to expect" Tom added. "My skills are more suited for data analysis used for indirect social mechanics. Given little time, I can tell you which soda is the next favourite, where the main transportation lines lie. In short, my expertise lies in how to alter the vectors of analysed data, to affect the outcome in set time scale." He felt a need to elucidate on a specific point. A point of personal preference which he had adopted after starting his life as an expatriate. "Ta eagla orm go, I fight from the office. Field work is young man's game, which I left behind be as I crossed the border of CCF and Cardassia. I rather not see the blood which I might spill." Machaire quickly continued as he feared his point might be all too revealing. He slapped his hands together and rubbed then vigorously. "But give me access to data and tell me how you want its trend to be altered and then we might be in business." "Any time Doctor." Mike turned then and left the other officers to their business while he went in search of the errant Lieutenant Matrix. He found him a few minutes later. "Excuse me, Sir," Mike said once he had reached the man. "Doctor Ichijo sent me to tell you that she'd really like to take a look at that shoulder. (reply Matrix) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix- Khoda City- Second District - The Villa- ACEO Lieutenant Steven Matrix - Day 7- 1801) Sitting on the ground with is back against a dusty wall Matrix was exhausted. The past few days and indeed the past few hours were extremely tiring. As the Lieutenant took a few moments to relax the pain in his left shoulder made itself present yet again. Matrix raised his head as he moved his right hand into the inside of his shirt onto the left shoulder and pressed down. Again he could feel the blood run down the inside of his chest. The makeshift bandage was soaked beyond its usefulness. The bottom of his shirt and the top of his pants were visibly red with blood. As he looked up Ensign Rosenbauer spoke, "Excuse me, Sir," Doctor Ichijo sent me to tell you that she'd really like to take a look at that shoulder. It seemed like one of those requests that was more like an order." Matrix smiled at the Ensign, "Thank you. I think its about time I do just that. Thank you Ensign." replied Matrix. (Reply Rosenbauer, IYW) Matrix slowly stood up, braced himself against the wall and walked a short distance in the direction the Ensign came from. It wasn't long before he stumbled across Doctor Ichijo. "Ah Doctor, I was told you wanted to see me?" said Matrix. (Reply Ichijo) Matrix mustered a tired smile at the doctor and started to pull off his shirt so she could get a better look at the injury. "Doc, I have to say...I'm not feeling..." The Lieutenant looked exhausted and the were lines around his eyes that spoke of more then just pain. "Ah Doctor, I was told you wanted to see me?" said Matrix. "umm, yes Lieutenant, I was under the impression that you were injured when leaving the hotel. Unfortunately our new arrivals delayed my being able to take a look at your injury, for that I am sorry." The doctor motioned to the pallet and stated " If you would like to remove your shirt and lay down, we can get this tended to immediately" Matrix mustered a tired smile at the doctor and started to pull off his shirt. "Doc, I have to say...I'm not feeling..." Matrix collapsed to his knees. "Yup...not doing well doc." said Matrix as he lost unconsciousness. Kimko lunged at the man as he fell to the ground. "I need some help in here" Kimiko shouted (Reply any) Kimiko stripped away the shirt and makeshift bandage while muttering under her breath. The doctor used gauze to wipe away the blood to see how extensive the injury was. There twelve centimeter laceration with first the second degree burns around the injury. "I need some help in here" came the urgent shout and mike, immediately turned on his heels and headed for the door. What he saw there was Matrix, collapsed at the doctor's feet, who in turn was attempting to perform some sort of minor surgery. "Doctor?" Mike asked. "I need a hand getting the Lieutenant on the dining room table, I've stopped the major bleeding, but he is going to need work on his shoulder" she stated evenly. Mike started into the room but the doctor added something very important. "I don't want to put any pressure on his torso, so we are going to need a litter" Mike nodded and turned back to the room. He spotted a few of the officers lingering there, and so started calling them by name and giving them orders. "Jackson. I need the Dining room table cleared if it isn't already, quickly." He called and then followed with, "Sanok, bring a heavy sheet or blanket, we need to make a field litter. Rabhartaigh and O'Neill, I'll need you to help move Lieutenant Matrix. Like weapons and starships, the human body was composed of moving parts and the art of repairing them fell into the category of 'problem-solving' in Eian's book. He had a strong stomach and didn't mind looking at blood and guts, and for a short while had considered a career in medicine. But he had discovered after a few holodeck lessons that he didn't have the patience to learn all the medical terms. Also, with machines one could usually predict what would happen given a set of conditions, but the human body was still something of a mystery when it came to its capacity for surprising even the most advanced medical societies. "Ensign...O'Neill, is it?" Ichijo asked him, pulling his attention away from Matrix's injury and focusing him on her. "Yes, that's right," he answered. "What can I do?" "Would you please sanitize your hand and arms up to your elbows and replicate five Jacobson stents of each size E though..." Kimiko looked at the injury "...R" "I'll get right on it," Eian answered immediately, and went to sanitize his hands and arms. Then he went straight to the replicator and began the replication. "Thank you" The doctor replied, almost as a afterthought "There will only be a selection of four different sizes total." "Got it!" Eian called from the other replicator. It seemed to be a somewhat minor injury that was not at all life threatening at all. That was a relief for Sam and would only require some work from the doctor.Sam did the best he could and was able to stable the wound for now and it would last.~Now the worst was over and recovery could now begin.~ (Reply by any) (posted by shawn) ===================================================================== (USS Rosenante- Ready Room - CO, Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid, Day 8 - 0300) Ahmed stood cradling a cup of hot Turkish coffee in his hands as he stared out the windows of his ready room in contemplation. In the distance a pair of Irlixian starships using acquired Federation technology were changing their course yet again to head towards the position of the cloaked Rosenante. He almost imagined he could feel the soft thrust of the impulse engines engage yet again and slowly shift his hidden ship from their immediate course. Once again they were displacing and relocating as they had done countless times before. He almost imagined he could feel the soft thrust of the impulse engines engage yet again and slowly shift his hidden ship from their immediate course. (reply none) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Trade Winds Lounge – Club Manager- T’Lela - 0910) T’Lela had spent the last day or so working and listening to what the patrons were saying about ducking and dodging maneuvers the Rosenante was performing to stay hidden from the Irlixian vessels. Before defecting to the Federation, she had been working as an Imperial Intelligence agent aboard a mirror Rosenante. Going over to her office connected to the lounge area and sat down behind her desk. One thing she learned from her own past military experience is the ‘Need to Know’ aspect of any security clearance. So T’Lela called up the navigational tracks of the Rosenante from its current position back to the planet where Chance and the others disembarked. Then she called up the projected Nav-Tracks of the other vessels that were hunting them down, even as she sat behind that desk. As she looked at the nav-tracks on her terminal, T’Lela tapped a button on her desk “Captain Salid, I was wondering if I could speak with you in either my office or yours please.” (Reply Salid) “I have an idea that might be of help with the situation in which we find ourselves.” (Reply Salid) Posted by Charlie --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Trade Winds-Lounge Manager-CIV T’Lela-0925) “Captain Salid, I was wondering if I could speak with you in either my office or yours please.” She inquired. =^=Miss T'lela. (USS Rosenante- Ready Room-Lounge Manager-CIV T’Lela-0925) Entering the bridge with a confident stride to her walk, wearing a dress that was lavender, form fitting that went down to the middle of her thighs, and the unmistakeable dragon tattoo on her face; T’Lela walked right up to the door of the Ready Room and pressed the button for the chime. (Reply Salid iyw) When the door opened, she strode straight to the Captain’s desk. The scene itself reminded her so much of her old life before she defected to the Federation from the Empire weeks, sorry, years ago. Once she stood in front of the desk, her old, imperial training kicked in and she stood there waiting for her new, yet familiar, captain open the conversation. (Reply Salid) She held the PADD out to him and began “First off, let me say that I am very familiar with ‘need to know’ and I know that I don’t need any details. If all that is correct and our communications array is sending or receiving any signals whatsoever, they may be able to triangulate our position. ” (Reply Salid) Posted by Charlie --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Ready room - CO, Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid, Day 8 - 0930) The door chime sounded a few minutes later and Ahmed looked up as T'Lela passed through the doors into the ready room. He gave the Romulan woman a smile, although it was not his most endearing one. There was too much on his mind to make it too genuine. Besides, he didn't exactly trust her completely, and if he had not been over-ridden by an admiral, she wouldn't be on his ship. "Have a seat miss T'Lela. If you have something useful to contribute, I think it best we get it out in the open so we can act upon it should it be prudent." He told her as he gestured towards the chair opposite his desk. She held a PADD out to him and began "First off, let me say that I am very familiar with 'need to know' and I know that I don't need any details. That being said, If my understanding of our current situation is correct sir the basics are these; we are currently cloaked, our opposition is still able to track us down and close in on us as well, and their technology is based on the Federation's. If all that is correct and our communications array is sending or receiving any signals whatsoever, they may be able to triangulate our position. " Ahmed raised a single eyebrow. The communications array was something he hadn't considered. Of course while the ship was under cloak, outbound communications were severely curtailed and went out only with his direct authorization. But incoming data updates, say from the federation relay buoys or Memory Alpha, those could still be received. And that would make perfectly good sense. Every time just before the Irlixian ships moved, there was a pulse of subspace radio waves that proceeded the maneuver. Ahmed and the other officers had long considered that it was possibly instructions from some ground based communications array sending encrypted orders to the Irlixians. He never suspected that it was one part of three, stations using that same pulse to triangulate their position. Their long range and the sheer amount of power of that burst were limiting factors for the Irlixians, to be certain, but T'Lela's suggestion could be a distinct possibility. "Interesting Hypothesis. Is there a way to test your theory?" he asked her, "Other than completely shutting down the communications data relays that we are using to update our systems and monitor for a call from the away team?" (reply T'Lela) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Bridge - CO, Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid, Day 8 - 1000) Ahmed stepped onto the bridge with a determined gait that indicated that he had developed a plan of action. T'Lela had provided a useful piece of information as well as offering up a suggestion for neutralizing the apparent Irlixian advantage. "I have the bridge mister Xim." he declared as he slipped into the vacated seat. "Aye Captain." Xim replied as he moved to the First officer's seat. "Mister Yalix, " Ahmed called out as he regarded the Irlixian Starships on the main view screen. "I want you to prepare five stealth communications relay and key them to received data on the same data input channel as the standard federation relays. Then I want you to have them start relaying information that they receive to us on a completely different channel, tie the ship's automated data relay services to that channel once that's set up." The Efrosian nodded and set about his task as he responded to the captain's orders. It didn't take long, the Stealth relays were a left over from the civil war, a series of data transfer and interception relays designed to detect Doenitz loyalist vessels as they moved through normally strategically valueless systems. With a power supply that would operate for months at a time, they were reliable enough for basic sentry details. With their transmitters, they could be a significant threat to enemy vessels if they came upon them hoping for stealth. The fact that they also happened to possess a cloaking device made them perfect to play decoy for the Rosenante. "Adjustments ready Captain," the operations officer reported a few minutes later. "Very good. Set their course so that they diverge from our position along various vectors at differing speed. Also program them to regularly and randomly adjust their positions at irregular intervals. " "Ready sir." he reported again. "Launch all five probes." "All probes away and functioning within parameters." Nunez replied. Ahmed nodded. "Helm, alter course, positive axis three degrees, heading two-eight-zero mark three, speed full impulse." "Aye sir, Z +3, heading 280 mark 3, full impulse." Ahmed watched as the form of the closest Irlixian starship grew larger and larger on the main viewer, until he could almost make out the individual rivets. Their course and speed was designed to pass the Rosenante just above the Irlixian ship. They would be far enough away to miss their shields but just barely. The desired effect of intermingling any residual signal would be accomplished only if the probes were doing their job properly. Their success was complete as the Rosenante passed by the Irlixian vessel directly astern without any indication that they had been detected. Ahmed exhaled a lungful of air that he hadn't realized he'd been holding and issued his next series of orders. "Take us to Irlix, standard orbit, Mister Dralar. I'm tired of playing games." The Skorr officer gave a single nod and then altered the Rosenante's course. It was time to get their people back. He had been concerned there would be a canvassing of the neighborhood, but that had not happened. The team had been able to lay low, and get a good night of sleep. Now, after taking another shift outside, Sanok was in the villa, sitting in the same room as Ios, as she watched a local news report. "Finally!" shouted Ios. Sanok looked at the Irlixian woman, while the rest of the room fell silent. "We're on the news!" Ios quickly turned up the volume. Sanok listened as the female on the news broadcast gave a report of disinformation, saying the runabout that had crashed was actually an experimental, Irlixian craft. Though Vulcans did not condone lying, he understood why the government gave such a report, though it seemed Ios did not. "They lied. I don't believe that they actually lied." "Ios," said Sanok in a calm voice. "I know you are distressed at this, but your government could not tell the public about the true nature of the crash. It could cause panic, and though your nation has a technological advantage, it could cause the other nations of your world to renew efforts against your nation." The next portion of the broadcast told of a public speech that would be given by the supreme leader. There was also mention of the Starfleet officers that had been recently captured. This did not make sense to Sanok, for he could see no logic in releasing to the world that more "aliens" had been captured. Something did not seem right about that. "They lie about the crash, but they are going to announce to the world that we've captured eight aliens and are holding them as prisoners? Now that makes perfectly good sense." said Ios. Sanok began observing Ios more closely. The speech was to be later that night. The way she was looking at the screen, it seemed as though she was formulation some plan of action. In fact, since the alien vessels were out on the fringe of the system chasing their stealth relays, Ahmed every reason to believe that they had certainly succeeded in throwing off any chance of being detected again. The Rosenante had been in orbit now for several hours, unmolested and unworried. The captain had earlier spoken with Sullivan concerning a plan to reveal themselves to the Irlixian population in the hope of garnering political leverage enough to force the return of the federation personnel and the Bohrs. Silent preparations had been made, and Ahmed was pleased to know that when they chose to move, there would be a well-laid plan to fall back on. ~Sash would be proud.~ he thought to himself, thinking of his former captain who, although an Angosian, bred for war, was a strong advocate of diplomacy first. The away team had returned to the ship a little over an hour ago, along with a member of the native species, and had been undergoing medical treatment for the few injuries they had sustained on the planet. In addition they would be returning to their normal looks in time for the next step of the operation. "Shock and awe" Ahmed mumbled to himself. "Sorry sir?" Xim asked. "Shock and Awe Lieutenant. The idea is to shock the governments of this world into a realization that they are now a bigger part of an interstellar community and to then awe them with our aid, assistance and promises of potential continued contact."
