Both seemed oblivious to the bright orange blood that had started to run down his forehead and over his breathing mask from the gash he had earned on his head when the Ensign had surprised him while working under a console. "It is a pleasssssure to meet you Ensssssign. I was working on recalibrating the ssssssenssssors. There wassss a problem caussssed by a Worker Bee," stated d'Kla, blood still running down his facemask. (Reply LaQua) "For now, I need you to work on inventory. We sssseem to have a lot of equipment here. Make ssssure it is functsssional," stated d'Kla nodding towards an equipment locker. (Reply LaQua) The pair worked for three and a half hours before Janeway called. d'Kla listened to the exchange back and forth and shook his head slowly. While he understood what was happening they didn't really have time for the interruption. "Professor is there anything else you need me for tonight? If not I would like to go and get some sleep for I go help in Ten Forward," asked LaQua. "Yessss, yesss, that would be fine. I'm about to finissssh for the day myssssself. Good luck sssssetting up for your party tomorrow. It ssssounds like a wholly sssscientific job," said d'Kla with a hint of humour in his voice. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain – Main Science Lab – Science Officer – Ensign JG Derrick LaQua – 1422) LaQua heard "Yesssssss... I am herrre, Who is therrrre?" LaQua answered "It's Ensign LaQua Sir. I have come to report to my station and help you Sir." LaQua walked around equipment, heading to where the voice was coming from. As he entered the next room he saw the Professor standing there. LaQua went to extended his hand to shake the Professor's hand but then though maybe they don't shake hands so he stopped. He remembered reading some about Coridanite culture and history and was not take back at all by the Professor's breathing mask at all. LaQua smiled and said, "I'm looking forward to working with you Professor and I'm sure our talents will help us work together as a team. I'm here to help you Sir get things ready so what would you like me to start with?" (Posted by John) (USS Champlain – Main Science Lab – Science Officer – Ensign JG Derrick LaQua – 1423) "It is a pleasssssure to meet you Ensssssign. I was working on recalibrating the ssssssenssssors. There wassss a problem caussssed by a Worker Bee," LaQua heard the Professor say. LaQua noticed that the Professor's head was still bleeding. “Excuse me Professor but you’re head is bleeding and I think we should take care of it." said LaQua in a suggestive manner. He waited for the Professor to give a response. (reply d'Kla's'turr) "For now, I need you to work on inventory. We sssseem to have a lot of equipment here. Make ssssure it is functsssional," stated d'Kla. "Very good Professor I will get to that right away Sir." stated LaQua eager to get to work. (Posted John Merriott) (USS Champlain – Main Science Lab – Science Officer – Professor d'Kla's'turr – 1425) "Excuse me Professor but you’re head is bleeding and I think we should take care of it." said LaQua. d'Kla sighed, "Darned breathing massssk. I cannot ssssee anything that high up unlesssss it goes directly over the eyepiecssse." With that d'Kla opened a drawer and took out a tissue sealer. Pressing a key, a mirror slid out and he used the mechanism to seal his cut closed as he kept talking and giving instructions as to the inventory. "Very good Professor I will get to that right away Sir." stated LaQua eager to get to work. "Pleasssse alsssso remember that other departmentssss besssssides xenobiology and xenoarchaelogy exisssst and will need equipment... although I don't know why," finished d'Klar attempting at a joke. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain - Counselors Office - Counselor - Lt. Alosar- 1730) Alosar stood up from the desk and stretched his back. He proceeded to perform several stretches. His body had begun to settle into one place as he poured over the crew reports that he had. As he stretched he let his mind flow through the information that he had absorbed. Most of the crew compliment seemed fairly well adjusted. There were the assorted variety of minor neuroses and potential familial problems. But for the most part, what he'd seen was nothing to be overly concerned about. It appeared that Starfleet administration, and the captain, had done a fairly good job of putting together a well balanced crew. Still, there were a few anomalies that he'd have to look into. The first, of course, was Professor d'Kla's'turr. Well, there was not time like the present to at least introduce himself to the Professor. "Computer, state the location of Professor d'Kla's'turr," he said. [Professor d'Kla's'turr is in the Main Science Lab.] With a nod, he moved to the door of his office. He looked back thinking that he would have to do something to make it more... appealing to the crew. Perhaps some art work or even flowers. He filed that thought and left to find the professor. (Posted by Al Muir) (USS Champlain - Main Science Lab - Counselor - Lt. Alosar- 1735) As the Counselor approached the science lab he decided it would be best if he didn't just barge in on the scientist. After all, he might be in the middle of something. It was best if he allowed himself to be invited. It also gives the inviter the illusion of control over the situation. He reached out and touched the door chime. (posted by Al Muir) (USS Champlain – Main Science Lab – Science Officer – Professor d'Kla's'turr – 1740) d'Kla took a step back from his work and nodded at the array console. Finally, it was finished. It had taken him most of the day, but he'd locked in the settings and the codes. d'Kla only hoped that another Worker Bee didn't careen along and knock it out of alignment. In truth, he couldn't wait for the rest of the staff to arrive, then he could actually have them take care of some of these pesky details. d'Kla started slightly when he heard the chime to his door go off. "Enter!" he called aloud and turned to see a slender Vulcan dressed in a blue Starfleet uniform walk into the room. "Greetingsssss, what can I do for you?" he asked politely. d'Klar guessed that this was another scientist coming to join him. He hadn't had a chance to read the personnel files as of yet on anyone on board, nor did he care much. Perhaps help in setting up had finally arrived. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain - Main Science Lab - Counselor - Lt. Alosar- 1741) Alosar stepped into the lab to see the Coridanite standing behind something that looked like an array console. He looked quite pleased with himself. "Greetingsssss, what can I do for you?" he said looking up. Professor D'Kla's'turr'," he said stepping forward, "I am Lt. Alosar, ships councilor. I just wanted to introduce myself and see if there was anything I could do to make you feel more welcome to the Champlain." (posted by Al Muir) (USS Champlain – Main Science Lab – SO – Professor d'Kla's'turr – 1744) d'Kla looked at Alosar with more than a little amusement. He wasn't born yesterday and he knew what was going on. This wasn't the first time people had been concerned that he wasn't going to 'integrate' well with other species. He cocked his head slightly and looked at the Vulcan. "I sssssee... sssso what are they doing to make you feel more welcome? After all, you have pointy earssss and a rather humourlessss visage. Not assss frightening as a facssse massssk I sssssupposssse, but sssstill enough differencsssessss," stated d'Klar with a jovial tone in his voice. (reply Alosar) "I apprecsssiate your concsssern, however I believe you will find it jussst as hard adjussssting assss I will... or the Elaissssian will. It musssst be frusssstrating to have people sssstare at her exosssskeleton. Ssssuch concsssern sssseems illogical," sstated d'Kla. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain – SC/TAC's Office – TAC/SC – Lieutenant Jono Janeway – 1745) Jono looked around his knew furnished office, and smiled. Brilliant.. just what he needed. It was a good office, although some officers might disagree... Jono liked it.. Jono sat down behind his desk at his chair. =^=Wolfe to Janeway... help.=^= Came the CO's voice over the COMM Link. If it hadn’t been for Edwards tone of voice, Jono would have pulled out a phaser and began running towards the CO's ready room... However during his time on the Nimitz he and Wolfe had spent a lot of time together on missions, and Jono had grown used to his sense of humour. He smiled as he tapped his COMM Badge, "What can I do for you... Captain?" Jono said with a hint of humour in his voice, =^=You're not going to believe this... they scheduled a party in Ten Forward for tomorrow night... our launch party... full gala affair... 2000 hours... as if we have time...=^= Edwards voice trailed off. The CO was obviously frustrated, Jono shook his head.... and began to reply. "No I cant believe it... Its just Un-true. Who would do such a thing?" Jono said musingly and then added, "Captain, it might be an idea to have this party. Let the crew mingle, get to know all your knew staff before the mission starts... You never know you might find it useful." Jono said hoping to persuade Wolfe to have a party - even if it was going to have to be a top notch posh party instead of a good old pleasant get together kinda bash. Jono had an idea, "How about I find some spare people, and we'll organise it? I've sorted most of the things I've gotta do out, well until the rest of my teams arrive. So I've got enough time?" Jono said making the suggestion, since his Nimitz encounters he had become slightly more confident in speaking his ideas to command staff... Jono heard Wolfe sigh on the other side of the link, it was followed immediately by: =^=I don't really want to pull any of you off anything, but Engineering is pretty crucial right now, same with OPs. Can't touch them. Grab Ensign Rhinehart and Ensign LaQua... and anyone else you can get your hands on that isn't busy setting up a department and get them cleaning up and setting up Ten Forward. I have NO IDEA who we're going to get to serve tomorrow night. I'll contact Geneva and see if they can spare some people to help out. Keep it tasteful and classy.=^= "Yes, Sir." Jono said respectfully, "Well once you know, just inform us and we'll sort out seating arrangements. How many people do you assume/think will be coming to our 'do'?" Jono asked, beginning to take down notes..." He would check who LaQua and Rhinehart and there department, once the conversation had finished. (Reply Wolfe) Jono nodded at Wolfe's response... ~Typical...~ "And Sir." (Reply Wolfe) "I'm sure everything WILL move smoothly, you needn't worry." (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain – Ready Room – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 1748) Edward appreciated the fact that Janeway was trying to calm him, but it really wasn't helping. He had a ship in pieces, a week away from launch, and now they wanted him to throw parties. Only a quarter of his crew was on board, not all the systems worked, Ten Forward wasn't staffed, he didn't even have an FO and they wanted a party. =^=Yes, Sir." Jono said respectfully, "Well once you know, just inform us and we'll sort out seating arrangements. How many people do you assume/think will be coming to our 'do'?=^= "Oh, they haven't told me anything! I have no idea! However, count on the command staff of Geneva and Lodonna and his staff. What a nightmare. I've faced death a dozen times and I'm finding this more frightening. I'm not a party goer, I'm a galaxy jockey. I'd rather fight a Borg hand to hand then wear a black tie! This is ridiculous," Edward replied. =^=And Sir.=^= "Yes?" Edward replied, flabbergasted. =^=I'm sure everything WILL move smoothly, you needn't worry.=^= "Oh yes, as long as we can keep our Coridanite science officer from scaring small children and our Vulcan counsellor from scrutinizing the Admiral's emotional state, things will be just fine," stated Edward sardonically, "Lets just hope the Gorn exchange cadet doesn't try to eat any of the Tellarite delegation. That's right... Ambassadors... they're on Geneva too... Ambassadors from three dozen different worlds! I can't believe this!" Edward was starting to get a headache. He'd dealt with pitched battles, time travel and been infected by a deadly virus and none of those caused him nearly as much anxiety as one fancy party. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain – SC/TAC's Office – TAC/SC – Lieutenant Jono Janeway – 1750) =^=Oh yes, as long as we can keep our Coridanite science officer from scaring small children and our Vulcan counsellor from scrutinizing the Admiral's emotional state, things will be just fine,=^= stated Edward sardonically, =^=Lets just hope the Gorn exchange cadet doesn't try to eat any of the Tellarite delegation. That's right... Ambassadors... they're on Geneva too... Ambassadors from three dozen different worlds! I can't believe this!=^= Edward Jono smiled, the CO seemed to be getting stressed. "Well Sir. How about I keep Mr. Coridanite away from all the children" He said smiling "And make sure the Gorn is seated a the opposite sides of the room to the Tellarite delegation" Jono concluded his brainwave rather happily. "And Sir, If you're over worked - anything that you need me to do, I would be more than happy to do it... And I hope this isn't out of line, Captain. But I would suggest you get some sleep tonight, you're going to need to be at your best tomorrow evening... Admirals and all." Jono said hoping Edward wouldn't take offence. But he could tell the man was either over worked or stressed, probably both. (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain – Ready Room – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 1752) Edward listened to Jono's advice about sleep and nodded to himself. ~He's probably right, but where to find the time?~ "Lieutenant, while I agree with your advice and I'll try, I just don't know where I'm going to find the time. A week sounds like a long time before launch, but it really isn't." (Reply Janeway) "Well, I suppose I could take in some time on the holodeck and then hit the hay. It'll mean that the day after the party I'll have to work double time, but I guess I'll figure it out. Thanks Mr. Janeway. Wolfe out," he stated closing the channel. With that Edward began to clean up his work for the night and prepared himself to start fresh for the next day. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain – SC/TAC's Office – TAC/SC - Lieutenant Jono Janeway – 1754) =^=Lieutenant, while I agree with your advice and I'll try, I just don't know where I'm going to find the time. A week sounds like a long time before launch, but it really isn't.=^= Jono smiled, "Well No - I suppose its not. But you should get some leisure time booked in - for at least a few hours each day. You shouldn’t over work yourself, Sir. There'll be plenty of that for later." "Well, I suppose I could take in some time on the holodeck and then hit the hay. It'll mean that the day after the party I'll have to work double time, but I guess I'll figure it out. Thanks Mr. Janeway. Wolfe out," Jono smiled and then returned to his work... (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain – SC/TAC's Office – TAC/SC – Lieutenant Jono Janeway – 1800) Jono had just finished reading up on the two Ensigns, Wolfe had told him to seek out. He had already assigned security teams and all other idle teams that aren't doing anything to meet at Ten Forward at 0900 hours tomorrow morning. He had also send a note to all superiors notifying them off the event and of any staff they might have missing... Of course Engineering and Operations staff had been left put - as per the Captains orders... ~Rhinehart~ was a male human aged 26.. Held the rank of Counsellor. Jono thought he would probably have a lot to say on the paramount of this 'do' the Champlain crew were hosting. And ~LaQua~ was a Science Officer, so he might have something to say.... Jono tapped his COMM Badge, leaning back in his chair and smiling he said. "Lieutenant Janeway to Ensigns Rhinehart and LaQua" (Reply Both mentioned) "I need you both to meet me at 0850 hours tomorrow morning in Ten Forward. This is an order. Your superiors have been notified, of your absence tomorrow." (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain – Main Science Lab – Science Officer – Ensign JG Derrick LaQua – 1801) LaQua worked feverishly trying to maintain a steady pace when he heard his COMM badge spring to life. =^=Lieutenant Janeway to Ensigns Rhinehart and LaQua=^= He waited for Ensign Rhinehart to answer then he tapped his COMM badge. =^= LaQua here Sir=^= It sprang to life again. =^=I need you both to meet me at 0850 hours tomorrow morning in Ten Forward. This is an order. Your superiors have been notified, of your absence tomorrow=^= He tapped the badge again, =^= 0850 hours tomorrow, yes Sir I will be there=^= He now noticed the time and asked, "Professor is there anything else you need me for tonight? If not I would like to go and get some sleep for I go help in Ten Forward." LaQua looked at the Professor and waited for a answer. (Posted John Merriott) (USS Champlain – Rhinehart's quarters – Deck Three – COUNS – Ensign (JG) Olen Rhinehart – 1802) =^= Lieutenant Janeway to Ensigns Rhinehart and LaQua. =^= Rhinehart's head snapped up at the sound. He'd literally just walked through the door to his new quarters when his COM badge chirped. Limbs weighted with fatigue, he had, moments earlier, walked up to his quarters on deck three after spending most of the afternoon unpacking boxes of equipment in the small open-plan counsellors' office. There were desks, holoterminals, PADDs, couches, a couple of simple plants and some soothing pictures to be displayed on the walls. He'd assembled the room into something like order, and heaved a sigh when he was done. He regarded the terminal for a second, but decided he could afford to knock off for a while. It had been one hell of a day. Tomorrow, he would start in on scouring the crew roster and preparing a report for Captain Wolfe. Perhaps he'd run into Lt Alosar, his 'ranking peer', who'd apparently made himself mysteriously scarce whilst there was physical labour to be done. Regardless, he was certain Alosar would have a few logical comments to make on Rhinehart's amateurish feng shui, but if he wanted something moving, he could do it himself. Either way, he was reasonably confident that he'd got the last of the furniture-moving out of the way. “Rhinehart here, go ahead sir,” he replied, prepared for almost anything. He heard LaQua report in a split second later. =^=I need you both to meet me at 0850 hours tomorrow morning in Ten Forward. This is an order. Your superiors have been notified, of your absence tomorrow.=^= “Very good sir, I'll be there. Rhinehart out.” LaQua acknowledged the order and the channel was closed. He wondered what the meeting could be about. He wondered vaguely if he was being called to task for leaving the office, but thought it unlikely. No other ideas leapt to mind, so he simply activated his private terminal and requested an alarm. Whatever it was, he'd find out soon enough. And whatever it was, it had to beat lugging chairs and desks about. Rhinehart glanced around his quarters for the first, proper look. They were comfortably-sized, if not actually large. A small desk with an integral chair stood opposite a low, futon-style bunk. A curved view port hung over the head of the bed, cut into a ceiling which curved gracefully, almost imperceptibly downwards, following the profile of the saucer. A modest seating area with a low table was located within a couple of steps of the bed, with a replicator built into the bulkhead. Beyond that was a tiny bathroom with barely enough space to stand in. He was grateful just for that. He'd heard that it was common for junior officers and crewmen to share bathrooms and sleeping quarters. He shuddered at the thought, and returned his contemplation to the furniture. The quartermaster had informed him that the furniture was simply the default layout, and that he could reconfigure the room with whatever pieces the Champlain had available for replication. ~Bookcases.~ he thought. ~I'm definitely gonna need some bookcases.~ A sealed vacuum-trunk hunkered in the corner, with a black canvas bag placed on top. They were all the possessions he had thought fit to accompany him on this voyage. Mostly books, one or two personal trinkets, a bongo drum (a souvenir from his travels in Latin America) and an extremely modest wardrobe. It was sobering to see the material portion of one's life contained in such small boxes. ~Might as well make a start~ he thought, with a mental sigh. He hauled the box over to the bedside and sat down, popping the catches, before his attention was caught by the view port over his head. He lay down on the pallet for a moment and gazed out into vacuum, contemplating the barely significant barrier separating him from oblivion. Within seconds, he was fast asleep. (Posted by Noel) (USS Champlain – Captain's Quarters – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 2132) Edward walked into his new quarters and looked around. He had his possessions shipped in earlier that day, but hadn't had an opportunity to see the actual quarters. They were, in a word, palatial. He moved from his living room into his large bedroom and then into the eating area, looking around him... the large concave windows at the front of saucer section made up the walls of his quarters giving him a spectacular view. These quarters there three times larger than his First Officer's quarters on the Nimitz, and he knew that according to the ship's plans they were roughly seven times larger than regular officer's quarters. The senior officers got larger quarters, but nothing like this... he shook his head as he sank down on his bed. ~Its good to be Captain!~ he thought smiling. "Computer, lights to zero illumination," he called aloud as the room went dark except for the twinkling starlight through the windows, "Computer, set wakeup for 0600." [Time Set, Mode of Wake Up Required?] "Verbal will do fine," replied Edward before he went off into sleep. (Posted by Jeff) Mission: Worlds Once Lost Day 2 Stardate: 2407.02.25 (USS Champlain – Captain's Quarters – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 0600) [It is now 0600 hours.] the computer intoned, heralding the 'morning'. Edward stretched and looked around him again, still in awe by the sights around him. ~I suppose I'll get used to it.~ Dressing quickly, Edward had a light breakfast and began to review his schedule for the day. He keyed in an invitation that sounded very... insistent... to each of his officers for the Launch Party that evening. Dress uniforms would be mandatory, which would make all of them more than a little uncomfortable. Edward pulled out his and had a quick look at it. He saw the decoration for the Battle of System 663 hanging with the Captain's Commendation and the Combat Action Ribbon he'd recently received. ~Man I hate this thing,~ he thought before leaving his quarters and starting for the Bridge. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain – Rhinehart's Quarters – COUNS – Ensign (JG) Olen Rhinehart – 0601) Rhinehart jerked awake as his computer terminal sawed the morning air with his wake-up call. His first sight was of the open star field outside his 'skylight'. He felt a yawning vertigo threaten to overcome him as he stared into what appeared to be abyss. He clutched at the bed sheets, clawing up handfuls of fabric before he realised where he was. He'd pretty much passed out the previous evening, neglecting even to remove his uniform, which was now crumpled and not a little bit smelly. Well, it had been a pretty exhausting day. Blearily he sat up and blinked around him, taking in the general disarray of his new quarters, and the awe-inspiring view through his view port.. The 'sky' looked exactly the same as it had when he'd gone to sleep. This was going to take some getting used to. Reluctantly, he swung his legs over the side of the bunk, stepping carefully around his yet-to-be unpacked vacuum trunk on the way to his bathroom. (Posted by Noel) (USS Champlain – Quarters of Jono Janeway – SC/TAC – Lieutenant Jono Janeway – 0630) Jono had awoken about an hour ago. Last night after finishing his rounds he visited Ten Forward to take a view of the current status of the place. He wasn’t too impressed it would be a lot of work for the teams today, to get it ready for the party. Since he had woken up he had begun compiling a list of things that needed doing, Considering the size of Ten Forward Jono had decided they would begin where the more important people would be sitting and work outwards. He had decided he would place a kind of 'Admirals table' where the Admiral, Edward and other important delegates from Starfleet would be joining them. Wolfe was yet to provide Janeway with an applicable list. Jono couldn’t do much more without meeting with the Teams and the two Ensigns, and getting a List of the people who would be attending.. ~To the bridge then~ Jono stood up and made for the exit of his quarters, once again he looked around them. They were bigger than the ones on the Nimitz and double the size of the normal crew quarters on the Champlain... Jono smiled, he would have to do something to them to make them more personal... But not now, he didn’t have time now. (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain - Deck 1, Main Bridge - SC/TAC, Lieutenant Jono Janeway - 0701) Jono had been on the bridge for about ten minutes. He was standing directly behind the CO's and FO's chair at his station. He was quickly reviewing the schematics of Ten Forward, when the officer at Ops turned around and said, "Sir we have an incoming transmission from Geneva" Jono looked around, she must have bin talking to him. She was looking at him and as he could tell he was the most superior officer on the bridge at that moment. "What is it?" Jono asked, rather confused. "It's an encrypted data stream. The posted note on it says its a list for the party tonight" The Ensign said. "Forward it to my console here" Jono said immediately. "Transferred" The Ops officer said. Jono tapped a few buttons and Un-encrypted the letter. He looked down the list, and smiled. He forwarded the List to Wolfe, and wondered what the mans expression would be as he saw some of the names on the list. ~Oooo Deary me..~ Jono headed of the bridge and down to his office, he had to finish his plans for TF. (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain - Bridge - CO - Captain Edward Wolfe - 0722) Edward walked off of the turbolift and called up the duty roster. Lieutenant Dezlar had checked in as on duty some time ago and she was his first thought and priority. "Wolfe to Dezlar. Status report if you please?" he stated. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain - Primary Computer Core - Acting CEO - Lt. (JG) Rellie Dezlar - 0723) It had been a LONG night for Rellie. The full complement of yard engineers had completely left the Champlain, and the Champlain's regular engineering staff was only half on the station. With no ACEO to delegate duties too, Rellie had stayed up until early morning working on the faulty ODN nodes, which now were starting to fail all over the ship. After only getting four hours of sleep, she now found her kneeling in a tiny access tunnel, with a service panel off, working away on the firmware of the computer core, trying to prevent a complete failure of the Optical Data Network, which would shut down access to the main computer ship wide. The other problems on the ship, the holodecks, half of the replicators and the turbolift shafts would have to wait until she had corrected this problem. =/\= Wolfe to Dezlar. Status report if you please? =/\= the captain asked. She put her tools down and sighed. "The failure in the ODN nodes is starting to spread. I think it might have to do with the incompatible firmware between the nodes and computer core. Right now my small engineering team is almost all manually putting the nodes on 'failsafe' mode to prevent them from shutting down," she explained. (reply Wolfe) "If the problem is what I suspect, it would take about 12 hours... maybe 16 to correct. However, only a few terminals in a few unmanned areas in the Stardrive Section. have lost their connection to the Main Computer. The Saucer Section is unaffected, and it should remain that way. I'm afraid that with this situation, that all the other problems are receiving no attention right now, sir," she explained. (Posted by Kevin Schram) (USS Champlain – Bridge – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 0728) Edward listened to the report of his Chief, he was not a happy man. The prognosis did not sound promising or good. ~Of course this had to happen... oh well, better in space dock than after launch when we're too far to get help.~ Edward idly wondered if this meant he'd have to cancel the affair in 10 Forward and had a hopeful moment. "How long before we get that fixed and does that make 10 Forward unusable?" asked Edward both with concern and hopefully. =^=If the problem is what I suspect, it would take about 12 hours... maybe 16 to correct. I'm afraid that with this situation, that all the other problems are receiving no attention right now, sir,=^= she explained. ~Oh, of course... 10 Forward isn't affected, why not!~ Edward thought bitterly. "You might be the luckiest one of us on this ship right now. Unless you can get the problem fixed by the time of the Launch Party in 10 Forward, you are hereby exempt from attending. However, if you do get it up in time, you really need to make at least a short appearance. And before you get upset with me about planning a party, I didn't... Admiral's aide noticed that it hadn't been done and decided to be helpful... hooray." (Reply Dezlar) "I need that network up and running and unless environmental controls go down, it has to be a priority. We can launch without weaponry, holodecks, replicators, almost a dozen other systems (not that I'd recommend it) but we need that network. Navigation can't plot a course without it, unless we want to end up in the middle of a planet at warp speed," stated Edward with a hint of frustration in his voice. He knew it wasn't the fault of Dezlar and didn't blame her, it was just the law of a man called Murphy at work again. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain - Primary Computer Core - Acting CEO - Lt. "Aye, sir," she said. =/\= I need that network up and running and unless environmental controls go down, it has to be a priority. I'll have the network repaired in no time, sir," she said. (reply Wolfe) "Dezlar out," she said, and she opened a service panel, revealing a mess of wires. She reached for a tool from her Engineering kit and started working, working has fast has she could. (Posted by Kevin Schram) (USS Champlain – Bridge – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 0734) Edward listened to the short laugh on the other end of the comm link. ~Relieving a bit of tension it would seem. I can't even imagine what its like to be in her shoes right now.~ "Alright, let me know what that's done. I figure that I should be able to pull the ship out a few hundred metres from the space dock and everyone will be happy with their 'successful launch' tonight. I just want to make sure that if they aren't we can get a bit more out of it. If, for some reason, there are pressing items that have to be repaired immediately for safety reasons, I can understand why you might not want to be at the party," said Edward with a hint of jovialness in voice. He was impressed so far with his Engineering crew and didn't want them pushed too hard. He also knew that most regular starship crew didn't like these little soirees much, so he wanted to give his Acting Chief Engineer a chance to opt out. Then, Dezlar closed the channel, presumably to set to work on the ODN. Edward sat back and waited for the next crisis to come into the fore. He received it a little over an hour later, when Janeway contacted him about the party plans. =^=Janeway to Captain Wolfe, Sir. If your not busy I was hoping on outlining our plans for this evening?=^= ~Not busy? Humph. At least its still only around 0850... lots of time to fix things still...~ "Go ahead Lieutenant." (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain – Bridge – Acting CMO – Doctor Mor'rel – 0818) Mor'rel swiftly made his way to the bridge after a night of setting up the Sickbay. As he needed less sleep as a Vulcan, he had decided it was a good use of his time. He noticed, as he proceeded that several members of the crew had not had a physical for some time, some of the new Ensigns had never had a physical in space. As most of them had taken several weeks to arrive at their final destination, a physical was definitely in order to see that their bodies were adjusting properly. Mor'rel still had not presented himself to the Captain and decided that it would be logical to deal with both his requests at once. He carried two PADDs as he exited the turbolift onto the bridge. "Captain, I am Doctor Mor'rel. I apologize for not directly checking in yesterday, however the Sickbay is setup. While the ship is still being worked on accidents are a possibility, as a result, it was logical to ensure that we could treat them on the ship, thus being more efficient," stated Mor'rel directly. Edward turned and looked at the young Vulcan and once again suppressed a grin. ~Logical to the end, but I doubt he has much of a bedside manner.~ "Your tactics were definitely logical and I appreciate them. It is good to meet you Doctor Mor'rel," Edward stated spreading his fingers into the traditional Vulcan greeting to which Mor'rel reciprocated. "The first PADD I have for you Captain, outlines my needs in Sickbay. Some compounds were not fully stocked and cannot be properly replicated. The order is ready and must only be approved by you," said Mor'rel to which the Captain nodded comprehending, "The second PADD contains a list of crew that have not had a recent medical or have never had one since they entered space. This list includes Ensign LaQua and Ensign Rhinehart. I must see them before we launch," stated Mor'rel. Edward sighed thinking about the needs of them at the party but knowing a medical only took thirty minutes or so. "That's fine, but you can only take one at a time. They're working on an important mission for security," stated Edward glancing at the Vulcan, "I'd also prefer if you waited until after 1000." "That can be accomplished, Sir," stated Mor'rel. "Then you are dismissed Doctor, thank you for your thoroughness." With that, Mor'rel wheeled off the bridge and back towards main medical. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain - Deck 10, Ten Forward - SC/TAC, Lieutenant Jono Janeway - 0840) Jono entered TF and was quickly astounded by the amount of work he had in front of him. He moved over to the Centre of Ten Forward where he had planned to put the Admirals table, he pulled a chair down from a stacked pile and flipped a table over. He placed several PADS on the table and sat back awaiting Rhinehart and LaQua. (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain – Deck 10 – COUNS – Ensign (JG) Olen Rhinehart – 0842) Showered, shaved, changed and somewhat breakfasted, Rhinehart felt almost equal to a day's work. As he trod the corridor towards Ten Forward, he wondered whether it even made sense to refer to 'morning' and 'evening' when one was traversing deep space, realizing that for all the galaxy's scientific, social and technological advances, it still suited people of all races to adopt and live by some arbitrary concepts, even as others had fallen out of vogue. Shaking his head as he reached the doors of the lounge, he smiled to himself. Rhinehart had found he was always prone to such rambling trains of thought in the mornings. (Posted by Noel) (USS Champlain – Ten Forward – COUNS – Ensign (JG) Olen Rhinehart – 0843) Poking his head through the lounge doors, Rhinehart spotted the dark-haired security chief seated at one of the tables. His mind returned to the question he'd put aside before falling asleep. What could this meeting be about? What kind of task could require close collaboration between a security officer, a counsellor and a science officer? And a week prior to launch? He couldn't imagine. “Sir?” said Rhinehart, as he walked into the large bar-room, attempting to get Lt Janeway's attention. “Ensign Rhinehart, sir, reporting as requested.” He came to attention, standing a respectful distance from Janeway's table, awaiting a reply. (Posted by Noel) (USS Champlain – Ten Forward – SC/TAC – Lieutenant Jono Janeway – 0844) Jono looked around, up from the PADD he was looking at to a Ensign. He could tell it was the Counsellor by his uniform. “Sir?” said Rhinehart, “Ensign Rhinehart, sir, reporting as requested.” The man stood to attention, Jono smiled... he always liked it when people did that.. "Take a seat, Ensign" Jono said pointing to the numerous seats around him that the Counsellor could take down and come and sit with Jono at the table. "I'm just awaiting Ensign LaQua's arrival... Then we can get on with our plans" Jono said (Reply Rhinehart) He watched the man pull down a chair, "I know this will sound absurd that I have called you away from your post, for such a trivial means but I have the Captains permission. We will be having a party tonight, and we need Ten Forward sorting out... I'll explain in greater detail once Ensign LaQua arrives.." Jono said with a sly smile on his face. "So Ensign, How do you like the Champlain so far?" (Reply Rhinehart) "I would have to agree... she'll definitely lead to some interesting missions." Jono said nodding and looking around for LaQua, it was nearing 0845... (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain – Ten Forward – COUNS – Ensign (JG) Olen Rhinehart – 0846) "Take a seat, Ensign" Lt Janeway said, indicating the numerous seats around him that the Counsellor could take down. "I'm just awaiting Ensign LaQua's arrival... Then we can get on with our plans," he said. Rhinehart spun around and caught hold of the nearest chair, planting it firmly on the deck and seating himself. “Plans, sir?” he said as he sat. “Apologies for my ignorance sir, I'm not sure what you mean.” "I know this will sound absurd that I have called you away from your post, for such a trivial means but I have the Captains permission. We will be having a party tonight, and we need Ten Forward sorting out... I'll explain in greater detail once Ensign LaQua arrives.." Lt Janeway said with a smile on his face. Rhinehart wasn't aware of his facial expression shifting from anticipation to bemused disappointment. ~Sorting... out?~ he thought, disjointedly as he gazed at the hundreds of upturned chairs and tables that would presumably require moving. ~Oh, say it isn't so...~ “So Ensign, how do you like the Champlain so far?” asked Lt Janeway, breaking in on Rhinehart's self-pitying daydream in which he moved various items of furniture for the rest of his Starfleet career. “Sir? Oh...” exclaimed Rhinehart, his attention snapping back to reality. “She's the most advanced Starfleet vessel I've ever seen, sir, let alone been aboard. It's an enormous privilege to be among the officer's complement.” He gazed around the room again. “I'm no expert on starship configuration, sir, but she seems to be fitted out with... excitement... in mind.” "I would have to agree... she'll definitely lead to some interesting missions," Lt Janeway replied. “I assume this is a launch party we're setting up, sir. What do you have in mind for the celebration?” asked Rhinehart, making conversation as they awaited Ensign LaQua. (Posted by Noel) (USS Champlain – Ten Forward – SC/TAC – Lieutenant Jono Janeway – 0847) “I assume this is a launch party we're setting up, sir. What do you have in mind for the celebration?” asked Rhinehart. Jono looked at the counsellor, he was confused. He wasn’t quite sure what the man meant, Jono was accustomed to setting up Parties... If it were some Security drills or something ideas would be flooding through him... Although he still wasn’t sure what the counsellor meant as 'for the celebration' he decided to make it look like Janeway knew what he was talking about. "This is a launch party yes. We'll be having numerous important people here, I believe Admiral LoDona will be coming but I cannot be sure.. Along with many important delegates from different species. Not to mention Captains Sash and Saleke from the ships Nimitz and Mystique... Its to be a 'black tie' affair," Jono said, to use an earth saying.. "Although I have little to none ideas on the 'celebration'. I was hoping to get some help on that one" He said smiling innocently at Olen, urging him to use his magical counselling skills, and realise that Jono was hoping for some advice on the situation's celebration.... (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain – Ten Forward – COUNS – Ensign (JG) Olen Rhinehart – 0848) “I have little to none ideas on the 'celebration',” said Lt Janeway, leveling a look at Rhinehart that was difficult to misinterpret. “I was hoping to get some help on that one.” Rhinehart regarded him blankly for a second. Was the lieutenant serious? He hated parties. He certainly wasn't at his most comfortable during large social occasions, in fact he did his level best to avoid them as much as he could. "Well... perhaps... erm...” Rhinehart looked around the room blankly, at a loss. He gave a small, embarrassed cough. “A... ahhh... a dinner... party... dance? Maybe?” ~Way to impress the boss, Olen, really smooth,~ he thought, cringing inwardly at the rubbish pouring out of his mouth. (Posted by Noel) (USS Champlain – Ten Forward – SC/TAC – Lieutenant Jono Janeway – 0849) "Well... perhaps... erm...” Rhinehart looked around the room blankly. He gave a small cough. “A... ahhh... a dinner... party... dance? Maybe?” Jono looked at the Ensign incredoulsly, The counsellor didn’t seem to have a lot of ideas either... "Well that sounds like what we're looking for... BUT what would we serve as food? Do we create a menu? Also, it means were going to have to make the food, even with replicators and the whole of the Ten Forward crew compliment we have on board that would be impossible for the amount that we would need to provide for." (Reply Rhinehart) "Its a good idea though, it works. And I think we should run with it, I'll see what I can do about getting the food and music ready" Jono said looking around for Ensign LaQua ~Where is he?~ He thought.. (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain – Ten Forward – COUNS – Ensign (JG) Olen Rhinehart - 0850) Rhinehart squirmed under the lieutenant's disbelieving gaze. Why did it have to be a party of all things? "Well that sounds like what we're looking for,” replied Lt Janeway, to Rhinehart's considerable relief. “BUT what would we serve as food? Do we create a menu? Also, it means were going to have to make the food, even with replicators and the whole of the Ten Forward crew compliment we have on board that would be impossible for the amount that we would need to provide for." ~Dammit, sir, I'm a counsellor, not a caterer,~ thought Rhinehart, although his expression, now back under control, betrayed nothing. If nothing else, this morning was proving that Starfleet was anything but predictable. “Perhaps we could create a simple... you know... a buffet. Or something,” said Rhinehart, musing on the idea. “Finger-food, sir. Simple, quick to prepare, but tasty at the same time. As for music, presumably we could get the computer to pipe something... non-objectionable... through the ship's PA? I don't know, sir. Parties aren't exactly my area of expertise,” he added, plaintively. "Its a good idea though, it works,” replied Lt Janeway. “And I think we should run with it, I'll see what I can do about getting the food and music ready." The lieutenant glanced around. “Very well, sir,” said Rhinehart, regarding the stacks of chairs disdainfully. “Just let me know what you need me to do, and I'll do it.” (Posted by Noel) (USS Champlain – Ten Forward – Science Officer Derrick LaQua – 0852) LaQua ran to Ten Forward as fast as he could. When he got there at the door he herd someone say, "A... ahhh... a dinner... party... dance? Maybe? LaQua walked into Ten Forward and said, "Excuse me Sir Ensign LaQua reporting as ordered Sir. I am very sorry I'm late." He stood at attention and waited for a response. (Posted by John) (USS Champlain – Bridge – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 0900) Edward kept working on the constant stream of reports, looking out from his vantage point on the bridge toward Starbase Geneva. It would be good to finally pull away from the starbase, especially after spending so many days recuperating in the Medical Centre. Looking out, he could spy two ships in close proximity to the station. One, a Sovereign Class vessel and the other an Akira Class ship. Edward considered that for a moment. "Which vessels are those?" he asked aloud. "Sir, the Sovereign is the Nimitz, I know you're familiar with her. The Mystique is the other one," came the response. Edward mulled that over for a moment, considering. "Open a channel to both ships," he stated, "Captain Sash and Captain Saleke, this is Edward Wolfe on the Champlain. I'm sure the Admiral's Aide didn't think to invite anyone I'd want to it, so I wanted to invite both of you to the Launch Party tonight in Ten Forward on the Champlain." (Reply Sash, Saleke) "I look forward to seeing you both. Maybe you can give me some tips. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain - Gymnasium - Counselor - Lt. Alosar- 0901) Alosar had allowed himself to have a relaxing morning. He awoke at his usual time and spent extra time in meditation. He had a feeling that he was going to need it. Then he ate a small breakfast before heading down to the gymnasium for a long work out. It had been a couple of days since he had actually stretched for exercise, and so he took the time. After that is was some form and opponent practice. He finished with some combat practice. He spent most of his time at a lower level of practice. It was the last ten minutes that he upped the level to maximum, so that he could use the deadly force required for koon-ut-kalifee. He had finally concluded his program and found the heavy perspiration to be a bit uncomfortable. As he was preparing to leave he had wondered what had happened to Ensign Rhinehart. He had been informed that he had arrived on the ship, but the man had never come to the Counseling offices. Was he planning on helping with the initial crew evaluations. Humans certainly had a different sense of priorities. But he had found them, mostly, to be reliable. So this was unexpected. He picked up a towel and rubbed his hair dry. "Computer locate Ensign Rhinehart." [Ensign Rhinehart is in ten forward.] Alosar raised an eyebrow. "Indeed? Computerr, monitor Ensign Rhinehart and inform me if he changes location." Alosar went back to his quarters, took a sonic shower and dressed in a clean uniform, then made his way to 10 Forward. I've just received authorization for a group of our serving people, chefs and bartenders to be 'lent' to you. What time would you like them aboard?" she asked with an eyebrow arched. (Reply Janeway) "I do trust we'll get them back," stated Ulia suddenly sensing that there was a hint of panic on the part of the Lieutenant her visage softened, "Would you like to borrow the station's orchestra too? (Posted by Jeff) (USS Nimitz - Bridge - CO - Captain Devan Sash - 0903) Repairs and upgrades to the Nimitz were nearly complete. For the past several weeks the Nimitz's job had been to simply patrol the already control area of the 52nd's base of operations. Surprisingly there had been absolutely no activity. He would have thought that there would be some retaliation from Doenitz as they had just made several heavy strikes into Federation territory. The Nimitz was making a final stop to Geneva to make some final adjustments, then they'd be on their way to the next assignment. He had been assured by Admiral LoDona that it would be a good one. This always gave Sash a reservation. =^=Incoming message sir, It's Captain Wolfe.=^= Sash smiled. ~Captain Wolfe. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.~ He also heard that Saleke had made captain as well, and was now the CO of the Mystique. He felt somewhat responsible as they both had served him well on the Nimitz. "Put it through here Ensign," Sash said and turned his computer screen to get a better view. The face of Edward Wolfe came on. =^=Captain Sash and Captain Saleke, this is Edward Wolfe on the Champlain. (posted by Al Muir) (USS Champlain - Ten Forward - SC/TAC, Lieutenant Jono Janeway - 0904) Jono had given the two Ensigns there orders. They were both to head certain parts of the controversial event that would be happening, he had Rhinehart on the left half of the Room and LaQua on the right. He had ordered the Admirals table in the middle of the room, the table he was putting together with some fellow helpers from the Security department.. Was going to be designed to hold about 12 people. The Admiral directly in the middle, Wolfe would be sat on the left hand side of LoDona (surpassing he was the admiral that comes...) and then after that Sash, and then Saleke would be next. And then sprouting off from the right side of the Admiral would be numerous VIP guests and also from the left of Saleke there would be the delegates from other worlds. "Sir?" A crewman said to Janeway which burst his visual picture of how the room would look like at the end. "Yes" Janeway said rather snappily. "There’s an incoming message from the FO of Geneva for you" The man said, ~FO Of Geneva, For me?~ Jono thought, He walked over to the console behind the bar of Ten Forward, he clicked some buttons and re-directed the destination for the call to that booth. =^=Lieutenant Janeway, apparently you're the one in charge of the Champlain Launch Party? I've just received authorization for a group of our serving people, chefs and bartenders to be 'lent' to you. What time would you like them aboard?=^= she asked with an eyebrow arched. Jono looked rather surprised, he hadn’t been notified what so ever. He looked around Ten Forward, "As soon as possible, I suppose. How about 1100 hours?" Jono offered. =^=I do trust we'll get them back.... Would you like to borrow the station's orchestra too? If I'm going to this party, I'd like there to be at least some decent music.=^= Jono smiled, ~Ahhh food and music sorted in one sweep~ "That would be great, Thanks... Is there anything else I can help you with?" Jono asked. (Reply Ulia - room for more) "Then I suppose, I'll see you at 2000 hours in Ten Forward...hopefully" Jono muttered the Hopefully as he once again looked around the room at the just started renovations. (Reply Ulia) After the link had bin shut down, He quickly rushed to the center of the room. He looked around, they were gonna need a stage. His plans completely change and he tapped his COMM and said "Janeway to Ten Forward" He heard his voice booming around the room, and smiled "Everybody stop. Change of plans, hang on a few moments. Ensigns Rhinehart and LaQua please come to me immediately" Jono tapped his COMM Badge again and waited for the Ensigns to arrive. "Right we have the Chefs and staff coming on board at 1100 hours. We also have an orchestra coming on board soon. We now need a stage. I've got an idea." Jono said smiling. "We have the Stage over there, in an oval shape. Then directly in front of that we can have a dancing area, after that" He said motioning with his finger where he wanted things placed "Will be the Admirals table, which will include the Admiral, Wolfe, Sash, Saleke, First Officer Mason and all of the other VIPS. Directly to the side behind that I want the Senior officers table, beside that the Junior Officers table. Behind them general tables.... Also to opposite the bar on the other side of the Dancing area we will have general tables along there all the way to the back of the room. We cant put anything directly in front of Bar, as the waiters and waitresses will need an area to co-ordinate. Do you both understand what needs to be done?" Jono said, hoping they would realise that both of them would take the sides they had been assigned before and began creating his master construction plan. (Reply LaQua, Rhinehart - room for more) "Right I'll be back in a moment," Jono said "Keep things flowing in my absence, and contact me if anything... arises." Jono said, he needed to keep the operation of this moving along nicely.. He walked out of Ten Forward and tapped his COMM Badge. "Janeway to Captain Wolfe, Sir. If your not busy I was hoping on outlining our plans for this evening?" Janeway asked calmly. (Posted by Jono) (USS Mystique – Bridge – CO - Captain Saleke – 0905) The bridge of the Akira class ship was inordinately quiet as Saleke exited the Ready Room with an array of data disks and paraphernalia that he was moving to his cabin. Two men only were manning stations here, one being an OPS officer who was trying to stay awake while keeping an eye on the power dispersion from the umbilicals for the quiescent vessel as it was in external support mode. Since the ship was in dock undergoing extensive repairs to its computer system, inertial dampening systems, tactical information center and hull integrity in the dorsal sail area caused by explosives planted by a miscreant aboard suspected of representing the renegade Federation group Humans for Humanity operating on Geneva, his post at this time was by and large redundant. All but a few of the engineering crew of the Mystique had been transferred already to the Hades and were aiding in its completion before a rapidly approaching deadline. The other departments had established presences on the Hades also to a much smaller extent. Orders for the transfer of command from the Mystique to the new Prometheus class vessel along with the full transfer of crew were still pending but due shortly according to Commodore Hikagi who worked under Admiral LoDona, LoDona himself had not yet made an appearance nor had any contact with the Vulcan CO of the Mystique; Saleke assumed that would occur when all of the arrangements had been finalized, at this time it was merely a matter of patiently waiting which he was uniquely suited to do unlike many of the crew who were becoming edgy. Saleke was almost to the turbolift when he heard the man stir behind him. "Captain I'm receiving a transmission on an external channel." Saleke turned before the open door of the turbolift and looked back toward the man and the off-line main view screen. "From what source Ensign?" The man now fully aware having been jolted from numbness by the unexpected communication tapped a series of buttons that brought the com tracking systems on line and waited a heartbeat before answering. "I read a signal from the Champlain sir, it's the other ship being readied for launch." "Activate the main view screen," The Vulcan said as he moved toward the command chair, he stopped beside it with his left arm resting on the raised back of the unit. The lights below the screen illuminated quickly followed by a strong signal, the bridge of the Galaxy class variant came in clearly with an as yet unknown (To Saleke) Captain sitting in the command chair of the vessel. The man gave a welcoming look which couldn't be classified as a smile exactly but portrayed a friendly demeanor before speaking. =^= Captain Sash and Captain Saleke, this is Edward Wolfe on the Champlain. I'm sure the Admiral's Aide didn't think to invite anyone I'd want to it, so I wanted to invite both of you to the Launch Party tonight in Ten Forward on the Champlain.=^= Saleke cocked his head slightly and an eyebrow rose to a point at this eleventh hour invitation from a Captain he had never met and an honor he had not expected. "This comes as both a surprise and an unexpected honor Captain Wolfe, I accept your invitation. Congratulations are in order on the coming launch of your ship." =^= I look forward to seeing you both.=^= Wolfe said having apparently received a positive reply from Captain Sash also. =^= Maybe you can give me some tips. Don't expect our 'launch' to take us more than a few hundred metres from the space dock though,=^= After saying this the mans face broke into a broad grin. "I am afraid I have no tips to give you Captain," Saleke said with that outrageous straight-man misunderstanding Vulcans were known for, nearly always overlooking the joking or the sarcastic while pursuing the letter rather than the intent of another’s' statement. "I myself am about to be taking a ship out on its shakedown cruise for the first time also." (Reply: Wolfe) ""I am sure the festivities will befit such an auspicious occasion," He observed. (Posted John Merriott) (Starbase Geneva – Main Operations – FO – Lieutenant Commander Ulia Mason – 0907) Ulia could see a wave of relief wash over the Lieutenant. Ulia was sure that unless he was thick, he'd pick up on the fact she'd be wearing a command dress uniform. She was practically delivering him protocol hints for decoration, "The flowers on the tables should be of varieties that compliments the colours as well. There are blue flowers, they'd go nice... a muted purple rose would look good too. I can't have the tables and the decor upstage me after all!" (Reply Janeway iyw) "I guess that's it. Still, the work wasn't really hard, and he found his mind drifting away to reflect on the amazing twists and turns his life had taken recently. His body, on auto-pilot, continued laying out the left side of the room as Lt Janeway had requested. "Everybody stop,” came the lieutenant's voice, amplified many times, catching Rhinehart by surprise. “Change of plans, hang on a few moments. Ensigns Rhinehart and LaQua please come to me immediately, “he added. Rhinehart carefully placed the chair he was holding down and trotted over to Janeway. "Right we have the chefs and staff coming on board at 1100 hours,” he said. “We also have an orchestra coming on board soon. We now need a stage. I've got an idea," Janeway added, smiling enigmatically. Rhinehart listened carefully, watching as the lieutenant indicated his plans, nodding. Who would have thought it, the party might actually turn out to be a roaring success. “Do you both understand what needs to be done?" asked Janeway. “Absolutely sir,” replied Rhinehart, casting a glance back to his side of the room to indicate that he would continue working in the same place he had left off. He turned back to his task, modifying the layout work he had already done to accommodate the addition of a stage. He couldn't say he was exactly looking forward to the party... but without realizing he was doing it, he began accepting the idea. Within a few minutes, a rudimentary anticipation had begun to build. So far, everything was fine and there were no overall problems. Some had experienced momentary space sickness, but that was normal for the first three months. Mor'rel gave them an anti-nauseant, instructed them on diet, and told them it would pass. As the chrono made its way to 1000, Mor'rel knew it was time to deal with the two recent additions to Starfleet onboard. "Doctor Mor'rel to Ensign Rhinehart. You are to report to Sickbay immediately for a physical. This is mandatory," stated Mor'rel evenly. He was used to the trepidation of newly minted Ensigns in the face of a medical examination, but he had also learned that he had to be stern and direct about his expectations in these matters. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain – Ten Forward – COUNS – Ensign (JG) Olen Rhinehart – 1002) Rhinehart had been working steadily on his half of Ten Forward for the best part of an hour. You are to report to Sickbay immediately for a physical. This is mandatory. =^= ~Doctor Mor'rel?~ thought Rhinehart. He hadn't even been aware the ship's doctor had come aboard. “Acknowledged, doctor. I'll be right there. Rhinehart out,” he replied. He gazed out into the bustle that had begun to overtake Ten Forward. Now to find Lt Janeway and explain that he was stepping off the job. He eventually spotted the black hair of the security officer bobbing about at the other end of the room. Rhinehart headed toward him at a trot. “Sir,” he said upon arriving, judiciously, but not impolitely, interrupting the lieutenant. “Sir, I'm sorry about this, but I've just been contacted by sickbay. I'm to report there immediately for a medical exam. Mandatory, or so the doctor said.” (Reply Janeway) “Yes sir, I'll be back as quickly as I can.” Rhinehart snapped to attention before hurrying from Ten Forward and making for the turbolifts as fast as decorum allowed. (Posted by Noel) (USS Champlain – Ten Forward – SC/TAC – Lieutenant Jono Janeway – 1003)   Jono had been busy for the last hour, he had begun replicating flowers and paint. He had ordered several of the teams to begin the re-decoration of Ten Forward, the table layout was almost finished and the stage was beginning to be put up, it was beginning to look more like what Jono expected it too look like for tonight.   “Sir,” Jono swiveled around, to see Rhinehart walking towards him “Sir, I'm sorry about this, but I've just been contacted by sickbay. I'm to report there immediately for a medical exam. Mandatory, or so the doctor said.”   ~Great...~ "Ok, Ensign. You better get going, I haven't met the Doctor yet... but I don’t think he's someone you want to keep waiting... Be back as soon as you can" Jono said smiling, letting the Ensign know he was only jesting.   Jono went back to work. About 25 minutes later Rhinehart stomped back in and over to LaQua, she gave Janeway the thumbs up so he assumed everything was good and returned to work to be interrupted again.   "Excuse me Sir I was just informed that Doctor Mor'rel wanted to see me now Sir. I was told it was for my check up. May I be excused to attend to this Sir?" LaQua said,   ~Great~   Jono had to stop himself from rolling his eyes. "That is fine Ensign, please have a seat on that biobed." Mor'rel walked with the Ensign as he took his place and he watched as the readings on the biobed changed. Nodding, Mor'rel looked at Rhinehart, "Ensign, please tell me of any worlds you have visited besides Earth, of course." (reply Rhinehart) "And have you ever contracted illness when visiting these worlds?" asked Mor'rel flatly. (Reply Rhinehart) "What is the longest period of time you have ever spent in space? Have you had any feelings of dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath or any other strange symptom since leaving Earth?" asked Mor'rel arching one eyebrow. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain – Sickbay – COUNS – Ensign (JG) Olen Rhinehart – 1007) Rhinehart settled into the soft cushions of the biobed. Unlike many people, he had no fear or phobia of doctors and medical procedures. He'd seen the inside of plenty of medical facilities in his time. And, as a counsellor, he felt a certain, automatic affinity for Mor'rel's role aboard the ship. Where Mor'rel was concerned with the physical wellbeing of the crew, he had the psychological and emotional aspects to consider. He wondered how closely they would be working together in the coming months... “Ensign, please tell me of any worlds you have visited, besides Earth, of course,” the Vulcan asked. Rhinehart cast a glance at his booted feet. He knew that he'd probably seen a lot less of the galaxy than many junior officers in his position. “Not very many, doctor. Apart from the usual sub-orbital journeys with my mother, and a trip to Mars once when I was a boy. During my Starfleet training I mostly travelled within the Sol system on short journeys for 'space orientation'. I've never ventured beyond the boundaries of the system before. I...” He hesitated a moment, obviously embarrassed. “I applied for a deep space training mission, doctor, but was rejected. Other than that, on my way to the Champlain, I had brief layovers at an orbital platform above Earth, and a short stay at Jupiter Station.” “And have you ever contracted illness when visiting these worlds?” asked Mor'rel flatly. Rhinehart was almost taken aback by the doctor's abruptness before he remembered he was dealing with a Vulcan. So far it seemed that Vulcans had got the humans outnumbered in the medical department... “No, sir. Well, I came back from that trip to Mars with a pretty nasty flu, but that was when I was a kid, and I was treated for it at the time,” the counsellor replied. "What is the longest period of time you have ever spent in space? Have you had any feelings of dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath or any other strange symptom since leaving Earth?" asked Mor'rel, arching one eyebrow. ~Neat trick!~ thought Rhinehart, watching the Vulcan's expression. ~I'll have to practice that...~ He indicated the room around him. “This is the longest period, doctor,” he said. “I've been in space just about a month now. Mostly the effects have been very minimal, nothing I would concern you with. Although... I have been getting occasional flashes of pretty bad vertigo when I look out of the ship's view ports, and especially through the one set over my bed. I woke up this morning staring out of it, and I thought I was falling into nothingness until I got a hold of where I actually was.” He shook his head, as if banishing the memory. “But it's just a case of getting used to it, right?” he asked. (Posted by Noel) (USS Champlain – Sickbay – Acting CMO – Doctor Mor'rel – 1016) Mor'rel looked at the human and nodded. His emotional reaction to Mor'rel's questions was hardly surprising, he was only human after all. Mor'rel fought his face to contort into what could loosely be called a 'smile' and looked at the Ensign. Little did he know that his grimace would scare small children and set dogs barking, at least Mor'rel was trying. "It is hardly unusual for someone to exhibit those symptoms until they become used to space travel. I'm sure you will adjust. However, I will give you a hypo spray and several doses of an anti-nauseant. That should help you to sleep and relax until your body naturally adjusts," Mor'rel replied, face still contorted. Finally, the medical chief allowed his face to relax back to its regular shape. (Reply Rhinehart) "The injection will also ensure that others do not realise you are having difficulty with the adjustment. I do understand how much pride is often involved in your first posting," Mor'rel stated looking again and Rhinehart, "It will appear in your medical charts accessible only to myself, my medical staff who are not to discuss it and the Captain. Knowing our Captain, it is doubtful he would spread information of this sort about." (Reply Rhinehart) Mor'rel looked at Rhinehart again, "You seem to be fine Ensign. Please report back to me if your symptoms of space sickness do not clear in three days. Please return to your duty with the Lieutenant and send Mr. LaQua to see me." (posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain – Sickbay – COUNS – Ensign (JG) Olen Rhinehart – 1018) Rhinehart watched with alarm as Mor'rel contorted his lips into a fairly horrifying rictus. ~Is he in pain?~ wondered Rhinehart, until he grasped that the Vulcan was attempting to put him at ease with a 'smile'. He appreciated the gesture, but he couldn't help but feel slightly patronised. It was an endless source of fascination to him that Vulcans seemed unable to grasp the idea that humans understood what it meant to submerge one's emotions, and also why the Vulcans did so, even if the human race disagreed with the fundamental philosophy behind it. Yet still, humans all over the galaxy were subjected to these strange, unnatural pantomime performances from their Vulcan colleagues, as if they needed scratching behind the ears every so often to make sure they didn't pee on the carpet. Of course, they were well-intentioned, but basically unnecessary. Now didn't seem like the best time to have this particular discussion, however. “It is hardly unusual for someone to exhibit those symptoms until they become used to space travel. I'm sure you will adjust. However, I will give you a hypo spray and several doses of an anti-nauseant. That should help you to sleep and relax until your body naturally adjusts,” said the doctor, allowing his face to regain its normal, placid expression, much to Rhinehart's relief. “If you think it's necessary, doctor, then by all means. I'm not really worried about this sort of thing happening in my personal time, but I wouldn't like it to get in the way of my duty,” he replied, inclining his neck for the doctor to administer the spray. "The injection will also ensure that others do not realise you are having difficulty with the adjustment. I do understand how much pride is often involved in your first posting," the doctor said. "It will appear in your medical charts accessible only to myself, my medical staff who are not to discuss it and the Captain. Knowing our Captain, it is doubtful he would spread information of this sort about." “Yes, I'm sure the captain's professionalism is capable of overruling his natural human desire to spread gossip, doctor,” said Rhinehart evenly, rubbing the tingling spot on his neck where the spray had lanced through his pores. Mor'rel looked at Rhinehart again. Rhinehart wondered for a split second if he had picked up the slight sarcasm of his comment, but Mor'rel continued as if the counsellor had said nothing. "You seem to be fine Ensign. Please report back to me if your symptoms of space sickness do not clear in three days. Please return to your duty with the Lieutenant and send Mr. LaQua to see me," he said. “Thank you, doctor, I will,” said Rhinehart, hopping from the biobed to the floor. He gave the Vulcan a friendly smile – perhaps to show him how it was done – as he stepped briskly from the room. The Lt responded "Permission granted, on the condition that you report to the Captain immediately," as if to explain, "standing orders." "Aye sir," she responded "Can I leave my luggage here?" she asked. "Sure, sure fine," she said hurriedly, "Just don't forget to pick it up" she warned. She put her bags in an out of the way corner and stepped out the door. As she left she heard the Transporter Officer give orders to the enlisted members, but she didn't pay attention. "Computer, location of Captain Wolfe?" she inquired. [Captain Wolfe is on the Main Bridge] chirped the computer. T'Larah entered the turbolift, "Bridge." she ordered as the doors slid shut. It was a short ride to the bridge, she had just enough time to shuffle through the isolinear chips she had with her. ~Blue on is my medical file, yellow ones my orders, red one is letter from Lt O'Neal from the Boseman~ Putting away the blue and red chips she kept the yellow in her hand in anticipation of reporting in. Stopping at the bridge level, the doors opened revealing the control center of the USS Champlain. Looking around T'Larah scanned for the Captain, and quickly saw him in the center chair. She made a route around the rail that embraced the command section of the bridge stopping two paces off to the left of the Captain. "Sir, Ensign Sullivan reporting as ordered." She said evenly holding out a yellow isolinear chip for the Captain. Just how he liked to be addressed. “Ensign Rhinehart, I presume,” said the Vulcan without a trace of warmth as Rhinehart straightened to face him. “I am Lieutenant Alosar. I was under the understanding that you were asked to check in with me upon your arrival. Has something happened to prevent that from happening since your arrival yesterday?” Rhinehart suppressed the urge to shoot a meaningful glance around him at all the things that were currently 'happening' all over Ten Forward. “Sir,” he said, “I'm honoured to meet you at last. I came to the counsellor's offices to find you yesterday afternoon, but you were nowhere to be seen. We must have simply missed each other. While I was there I took the liberty of unpacking the boxes of furniture and equipment, and arranging it in a state that I hope is to your liking. Presumably you've seen it by now... (Reply Alosar) “As for today, sir,” Rhinehart indicated the room around him. “I've been somewhat... occupied, as you can see. I was ordered to this duty late yesterday by Lieutenant Janeway, who informed me that my superiors had been notified of my absence today. I would suggest that you go and remove it before whose ever office it is arrives and finds all of your belongings." (reply Rhinehart) Then he listened to Rhinehart go on about the days activities.  Alosar raised an eyebrow.  "You do not require authorization from me to perform any duty Ensign.  Although I am your superior officer, I am not your commanding officer.  If Lt. Janeway says that you are needed then I will, of course, acquiesce to his needs.  I was just curious as to your intentions on following the Captain's orders.  Beyond that I have no further agenda." (posted by Al Muir) (USS Champlain – Ten Forward – COUNS – Ensign (JG) Olen Rhinehart – 1037) "Ensign Rhinehart," said Lt Alosar after a lengthy pause, "I suggest that you check the offices in which you were at, as I was in the counselors' offices all afternoon looking over crew records, and you neither arrived there nor unpacked anything. If you did unpack something then it must be in the wrong office. I would suggest that you go and remove it before whose ever office it is arrives and finds all of your belongings." Rhinehart looked at Lt Alosar blankly for a moment. ~Whose office have I decorated, then?~ he wondered briefly, before a smirk spread across his face. ~I hope they like it...~ “I'm sorry, sir. I was definitely on deck 12... I must have ended up next door or something similar. I'm not quite used to navigating aboard a ship, yet. It should be okay though, I just unpacked the equipment that was already there - my personal belongings are still awaiting my attention in my quarters.” He paused, smiling at the unintentional humour of the situation. “How embarrassing...” he added. Rhinehart made an effort to straighten his face, as he listened to the Counselor. “I was just curious as to your intentions on following the Captain's orders,” he said. “Beyond that I have no further agenda.” “Well, my intentions were perfectly sound, sir. I apologise for the confusion, though. I must admit, I feel slightly ridiculous,” said Rhinehart. (Reply Alosar) “Perhaps, if Lt Janeway is agreeable, we could meet in our offices after lunch, and go over the crew files together? I could make up for some lost time,” said the ensign. (Reply Alosar) “Yes, I gathered Captain Wolfe was planning to brief the senior officers tomorrow, and it would certainly be of benefit to have some insight. That should give me enough time to get this place looking ship-shape, sir,” said Rhinehart. “Are you planning to attend the gathering, by the way, sir? I can't say I'm looking forward to it, myself,” he added, conspiratorially. (Posted by Noel) (USS Champlain – Bridge – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 1042) Edward concentrated on the Bozeman as it came and went. He knew there was a number of crew that would be coming aboard this way, however Jono's new assistant was someone he was waiting for. Soon, Ensign Sullivan found her way to the bridge. "Sir, Ensign Sullivan reporting as ordered." She said evenly holding out a yellow isolinear chip for the Captain. "Thank you Ensign," Edward said taking the chip, "How was your journey?" (Reply Sullivan) Edward nodded, "Our current launch date is Stardate 2407.03.03. There are some engineering difficulties, but the Tactical and Security department is in good shape as last I heard. We have the formal launch party this evening at 2000 in Ten Forward. You'll be expected to attend in full dress. Please go the Quartermaster to get your quarters first and stow your gear, then to Ten Forward and present yourself to Lieutenant Janeway. He'll have duties for you. Any questions so far?" (Reply Sullivan - room for more) "Our mission so far is still being worked through. Expect to be part of a staff meeting tomorrow to discuss the specifics prior to launch. We'll have to work double-time to get ready once everything is clear. At this point, you're dismissed," said Edward smiling slightly. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain - Bridge – ATAC/ASC - Ensign Junior Grade T'Larah Sullivan -1043) "Thank you Ensign," Edward said taking the chip, "How was your journey?" He tapped his COMM Badge and said "Yes, There here for the Party tonight, once the first party arrives, tell them I'll be there soon to meet them, Janeway out" Jono said as he tapped his COMM Badge once again.   Jono began heading out of Ten Forward after shouting "Rhinehart  - Chefs are here, You're in charge until I get back" Jono shouted, he looked around for LaQua but couldn’t see him and hadn’t seen him come in yet.   "Sir, Ensign Sullivan reporting as directed." The woman in front of Jono said holding a chip out for him to take. "I was told to give this to you when I reported in." she added.   Jono nodded and took the chip, He ran through the Academy records last night before bed, just so he would know which ever cadets came aboard and what department they would be in... He was having difficulty placing this one... ~Reporting Directly?~   "It's good to meet you, Ensign" Jono smiled and put the chip in his pocket "I'll look at that later, I'm rather busy at the moment... As you can see..." Jono said turning to Ten Forward.   "Understood, Sir" she replied.   "T'Lorah Sullivan?" Jono asked as he tried to remember her name, "Walk with me, Ensign? I'm heading to Transporter room 1 to meet some guests to the Champlain, so best behaviour" Jono said smiling.   (Reply Sullivan)   Jono nodded, and headed out of the door with Sullivan at his side. "So, Ensign. Tell me a little about yourself" Jono said taking a vested interest in his new assistant.   (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain - 3rd Deck – ATAC/ASC - Ensign JG T'Larah Sullivan - 1100) T'Larah had just finished putting her stuff in her quarters, and making sure Norman was at least occupied. He had food and that box of sand the instructions said that he needed for sanitary purposes. When she left he was busy exploring his new surroundings. Sniffing and poking through everything. She made sure that she had the red and blue isolinear chips on her person. Her in processing on the ship was not yet completed she wanted to make sure that it was complete before the festivities commenced this evening. She walked down to the turbolift and let it take her to Deck 10. She made a turn down the corridor bringing her towards the bow of the vessel. Finally finding 10 Forward the lounge of the vessel and her next destination. The ornate double doors emblazoned with the Starfleet seal parted for her and she entered the lounge. She looked around looking for Lt. Janeway. She found her new boss and approached. "Sir, Ensign Sullivan reporting as directed." she said holding out the red isolinear chip. "I was told to give this to you when I reported in." she added. (Reply Lt. Janeway) "Understood, Sir" she replied. "So, Ensign. Tell me a little about yourself" Jono said taking a vested interest in his new assistant.   Making an effort to stay to the Leiutenant's left side she followed him to the transporter room. "I grew up on Vulcan, and was raised by extended family most of my life." T'Larah began to explain.  "They wished me to go into more traditionally Vulcan persuits of knowledge and scientific endeavors.  I chose another path and enrolled in the Vulcan Institute for the Defensive Arts."   (Reply Janeway)   "Yes, Sir, but I'm 41 standard years old, remember those of Vulcan descent tend to live longer lives then those of humans, excluding trauma or diesease of course."  Now turning the conversation she started asking questions. "As my direct supervisor,  what  will my priorities and responsibilities entail?" she inquired.   (Posted by Todd) (USS Champlain - Transporter room 1 - SC/TAC, Lieutenant Jono Janeway - 1106)   Jono walked into the transporter room quickly with the new Ensign by his side. Janeway asked politely to what seemed to be the 'head chef'.   "I am Head Chef Parrazoni Pelatie," The man said as he stepped down...   "Nice to meet you, this is Ensign Sullivan" Jono said pointing out the Ensign and introducing them,   "Ahhhh, Lovely to meet you Miss. Unless you already have one in mind?" Jono asked the man quite rivetly.   "I have a few In mind, I would like to find where we will be serving the food and such." The man said, Jono got the distinct impression that the Chef thought he was better than Jono in so many different ways. Jono cocked an eye-brow and thought about the easiest way to knock the man out, and then realised what he was thinking about.   "We can go to Ten Forward Later, it is where the rest of your party has gone too. We can head off to my office, and talk there.." Jono said motioning the man out of the room, "Keep transporting them across, and notify me when the Orchestra gets here" Jono said to the Chief, and then walked of after Pelatie...   (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain - Transporter room 1 - ATAC/ASC - Ensign JG T'Larah Sullivan - 1107)   The pair entered the transporter room as the doors parted and closed behind them a lone male Bolian cheif stood at the controlls.  He turned to the transporter chief, "Engage" Is all he said, the transporter beam took direct effect and a party of about 12 people were beamed across into the transporter room.   Jono stepped forward, "I am, Lieutenant Janeway - You have permission to come aboard. From this bridge any way~ "Geneva this is the Amazon. request permission to dock." "Amazon this is Geneva proceed to docking area six and welcome home." "Copy that Geneva." He saw Captain Ransome turn to him. "You ready Robert?" "Aye captain. I'm ready." He saw Ransome nod and returned to looking out of the view screen. Robert was exited about his new ship. He had been working on Oberth class ships for the last five years and transferring to a Galaxy Class like the Champlain would be a big change. "There is it Robert." He looked up again to see a Galaxy Class ship go past the view screen. "My god its so big," he whispered. "Having second thoughts?" Robert looked at his captain with worried expression. "Skipper I have enjoyed every minute that I have served with you." "Don't worry Robert Its okay." There was a mummer from the Conn and a slight jolt as they docked. The Captain walked over to Robert and extended his hand. "Good luck Ensign Smith." He shook Ransome’s hand. "Thank you captain." As he turned and crossed the bridge towards the turbolift. "When you get to the Champlain don't forget all the little ships you walked over to get there." Robert grinned back at his old captain and nodded. The then took a deep breath and left the bridge. ~Lets see what the future holds.~ (posted by Robbie) (Starbase Geneva, hangar bay– OPS - Ensign (JG) Brianna Frazier, 1200) Outwardly, Bree’s trip had been uneventful, notwithstanding the inevitable stress of traveling “space available” aboard military vessels. There had been a few tense moments, but as her personal resources were considerably more extensive than her financial ones, she had always managed to get where she needed to be when she needed to be there. She found ways to make her time count. She studied the operations of all the ships she boarded, from planet-hoppers to deep space cruisers. She also took inventory of the many sentient types she encountered on the way. She was, of course, delighted to meet with many representatives of her relatively newly discovered Betazoid heritage. But she also took note of a tendency of other races toward inaccurately stereotyping them as “soft” due their empathy, and the trust-based structures of Betazoid culture. It was during this time that she adopted the motto, “Empathy and sympathy are not synonyms”. One particularly disturbing aspect of her journey involved becoming acquainted with an organization known as H4H. As a half-BZ who physically resembled her human father, raised on Earth as fully human, she was not easy for them to spot; but she recognized them. Fear and hatred radiated from them like a heat shimmer off an Earth ground road on a hot summer day. These people could be more trouble than any overt civil war. Bree also availed herself of every opportunity to learn more of the particulars of her destination, the Champlain. She studied the technical stats and took note of the ship’s mission. Exploration, more than military operations. Wonderful. Her fascination with new cultures and ways of thinking buzzed to life, anticipating the possibilities. She dug up all the information she could on the crew, trying to get a feel for the personnel on board. As reluctant as she was to admit it to herself, she was particularly eager to meet Captain Wolfe. As she stood in Geneva’s hangar bay waiting to board a transport to her duty station, Bree prayed she wouldn’t get bumped by some stray military traveler who outranked her. She still did that; prayed; rather frequently, despite the madness of her fundamentalist upbringing. God might not be who they said He was, but her heart told her He did exist, and that He did care for her. This was the last leg of her trip, and she wanted to get down to business. She breathed a sigh of relief when the transport actually cleared the bay without being recalled. In a very short time, she would be aboard the USS Champlain, exploring the galaxies under Captain Edward Wolfe. She whispered one more little prayer; that she would prove worthy. Then she closed her eyes and centered herself, resting and restoring, until the little ship’s pilot announced entry into the Champlain’s transporter range. The action of the transporter in the Academy simulations had always briefly disoriented Bree, and she found the real thing too be no exception. She took a moment to center; then when she felt sufficiently reassembled, she relayed her orders to the officer in charge and requested that her arrival be announced to the Captain. She awaited his reply. (Posted by Connie Francisco) (USS Champlain – Readyroom – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 1203) The morning had been long and fairly full. The paperwork seemed endless and Edward needed to wade through all of it. While the day was not as insane for crew coming aboard as the one before it, things still had been fairly busy. Edward was just about to order his lunch when a communication came through the comm system. =^=Sir? This is Chief Utarr in Transporter Room One. We have an Ensign Frazier here?=^= Edward nodded remembering his new OPs officer coming on board. ~That's one Ops Officer on board, one to go~, "She has permission to come aboard. Tell her to go directly to my Readyroom." =^=Aye Sir.=^= (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain - Ten Forward - SC/TAC, Lieutenant Jono Janeway - 1206)   "OK Everyone, Time for a break" Jono shouted as he entered Ten Forward. Everyone looked around relieved, Jono had just spend the last hour cooped up with the Head Chef cooking up a Menu for this evening.   Jono didn’t really have a clue how it would work. Basically all the food were 'posh' party foods, that waiters and waitresses would be circulating around with... Then at about 2030 hours the buffet would open which included many delectable dishes, Jono had provided the man with a list of the different species coming and the Chef had been very accommodating with what he would put in the Buffet...   Jono looked around the Starfleet blue room. It had Starfleet flags draped over the walls. Jono began walking through Ten Forward, "Good Job, everyone" He said... it had taken a shorter amount of time than he expected, but then again he did have about 150 - 200 people working non-stop on it since 0900 hours this morning. He smiled, there were some finishing touches to be added yet.. But all would be done in time.   He looked over at the most important table, it looked magnificent he couldn’t believe he had designed the layout, it worked rather efficiently. The two flags at either end which Mason had suggested, and each table had a flower centre piece surrounded by small delicate bowls which would be filled before the parts with an assortment of small mixed foods.   =^=Sir, the Orchestra is here=^= Jono heard over the COMM Link, He tapped his COMM Badge and looked around the room.   "Excellent, Send them down to Ten Forward" Jono said smiling,   "Ok, Everyone.. Unless your superior directly needs you please go and have some down time, sort out stuff you need to - do whatever.... I need Ten Forward abandoned for now." Jono said smiling.   People began moving, "Again - Thanks a lot for you help." Jono said, Jono then had a thought, "Ensigns, LaQua, Rhinehart and Sullivan - Please stay, I may have need for you yet." Jono said.   He went and sat at the Admirals table, so he was directly in front of the stage, and waited for them to join him.   (Reply LaQua, Rhinehart, Sullivan)   Just then the Orchestra popped in, Jono moved over to them. "Stage big enough?" He said asking them as a joke, the stage was absolutely huge.   The man in the lead looked up and said "Should do."   Jono was slightly confused at the answer, but then figured it out. As member after member of the orchestra piled into Ten Forward... The Man was right, the stage would only just do...   "Well you've got until about 2000 hours tonight, then you'll need to start playing... You can set your stuff up and then began practicing or what ever you guys do" Jono said in an airy tone. He went back to the table the Ensigns were at and sat down.   "Right, Judgement time. What do we all think?" Jono asked with a smile on his face, "Did we pull it off? Do you think we'll pull it off later on?" Jono asked smiling even broader, he could here a lot of clanging in the background as the Orchestra moved in.   (Posted by Jono) (USS Champlain – Readyroom – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 1208) Bree took a second to calm down in the corridor outside the Captain’s ready room. Being this nervous was unlike her; but she supposed she had to give herself a break. After all, her whole life for the last several years had been focused on this moment; and her annoying fascination with Wolfe was not helping. A part of her sincerely hoped that he would not be as…interesting in person as he was on his bios. But, she reminded herself, she wasn’t a giddy teenager; she could deal honestly with whatever came her way, even that within herself. She keyed the door alert. The door slid back, and she entered. “Ensign Brianna Frazier, reporting for duty, sir.” (Posted by Connie Francisco) (USS Champlain – Ten Forward – COUNS – Ensign (JG) Olen Rhinehart – 1209) Rhinehart visibly sagged when Janeway called for a break. He'd been working pretty much non-stop since Lt Alosar had left him, and on top of being left in charge of the layout for the best part of the last hour, he was fairly exhausted. At this rate, he wasn't sure he'd even make it to the party. "Ensigns, LaQua, Rhinehart and Sullivan - Please stay, i may have need for you yet," Lt Janeway said. ~Ensign Sullivan?~ thought Rhinehart, as he strolled over towards the admiral's table, tensing and relaxing in order to try and ease his bunched muscles. In all the bustle, he'd not had a chance to meet any of the other senior officers. ~I'll get my chance tonight, I suppose~ he thought, with a slight dread. He collapsed into a chair opposite Lt Janeway and waited, rubbing his palms over his face while the dark-haired man conferred with the orchestra. "Right, Judgement time,” the Lieutenant said, raising his voice over the clamour of the orchestra setting up. “What do we all think? Did we pull it off? Do you think we'll pull it off later on?" Rhinehart cast an appraising glance around the room as the others responded. “I think,” said Rhinehart, “it's a pretty damn fine job, sir. To look at this place, you wouldn't imagine it was barely usable as a simple bar only three hours ago. Given that, I don't think 'later on' is going to prove to be a problem at all.” ~Except for yours truly...~ he mentally added. (Posted by Noel) (USS Champlain – Readyroom – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 1211) Edward heard the chime and keyed the entry. A young woman walked in. Her red hair and green eyes reminded her of Cecilia Bruce from the Nimitz for a moment and he idly wondered how the new counsellor was doing now that she'd finally gotten onto the vessel. “Ensign Brianna Frazier, reporting for duty, sir.” "Its good to meet you Ensign. Welcome to the USS Champlain," Edward said proudly, "You are to be working bridge duty on Operations. Our crew compliment should be complete in the next few days. We're currently waiting for one more Operations Officer, Ensign Robert Smith, to board. There are some issues in terms of the Champlain that Engineering is working on, although saucer section systems seem to be responding fine. I'll need you to key in your codes to the Operations station at some point today and set your configurations." (Reply Frazier) "You'll also have to check in with the Quartermaster and get your quarters set. Then you can stow your gear. Our departure is set for 2407.03.03. You should also be aware that our official Launch Party is set for this evening," Edward grimaced a bit at the thought, "You will be expected at it, in Ten Forward at 2000, full dress uniforms. Any questions so far?" (Reply Frazier - Room for more) "I was just pausing to have lunch when you boarded, would you like anything?" Edward asked. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain –Readyroom – Ensign Brianna Frazier – 1212) Captain Wolfe was obviously busy, but his welcome felt sincere. He gave her a brief rundown of the ship’s status, and instructed her to get set up at her duty station on the bridge sometime that day. He told her who to contact for quarters, and informed her of the ship’s launch date. When he mentioned the launch party, Bree got the distinct impression that the charming Captain Wolfe was not exactly in a party mood. “Any questions so far?” “Yes, sir. Is there anything I can do to help?” Wolfe sighed. "I was just pausing to have lunch when you boarded, would you like anything?" he asked. Bree was momentarily flustered, but she recovered quickly. She sensed a need for simple companionship, free of constant demands, in the Captain’s gracious invitation. Genuine concern settled her nerves and focused her mind. She had plenty to do today, but she was nothing if not efficient at need, and first things must come first. She smiled warmly. “I’d be honored, sir”. He gestured for her to sit. When lunch had been set out, she asked, “OK, Captain, what else is on your plate for today?” (Posted by Connie) (USS Champlain – Readyroom – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 1214) When Edward heard the affirmative to his question about lunch, he grinned and walked over to the replicator. "Computer, two miso soup; shrimp, sweet potato and zucchini tempura, and two sets of maki rolls," stated Edward. Soon the food materialized and he placed it in front of them complete with chopsticks. Edward gestured for her to sit. When lunch had been set out, she asked, “OK, Captain, what else is on your plate for today?” "Well Ensign, currently my security chief is working on setting up Ten Forward for a launch party I found out we were having last night. My Engineering Chief is going mildly insane trying to get our ODN network up, as well as several other crucial ship's systems. I'm trying to put together mission data for tomorrow's departmental meeting and I'm also trying to finish duty shifts. So... fun," Edward answered. (Reply Frazier) "The mission can't be divulged until I finish working out the last of the details," said Edward. (posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain –Readyroom – OPS - Ensign Brianna Frazier – 1215) Brianna listened to the list of demands the Captain had to deal with. So; the Captain of the Champlain was being backed into operating as a crisis manager rather than the leader he was by nature. Not good; especially since she sensed that he was not feeling especially well. “So... fun”, Captain Wolfe grumbled sarcastically. She suppressed a chuckle as a song from an ancient non-interactive Earth “movie” sprang to mind…”just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down…” “Well, Sir, in my experience, fun is where you find it; and if you can’t find it, sometimes you can force it. Now, as to this unexpected party, I might be able to help wedge in a bit of fun. I’ve noted that most of my colleagues seem to dislike dressing out in full whites, but personally, I enjoy it. I also enjoy meeting and dealing with all kinds of sentient folk. I’m a pretty good “mingler”, if I do say so myself, Sir; and that’s really what makes a party work anyway, no matter what else you serve up. If you can see your way clear to give me a copy of your guest list, then as soon as I get settled in, I’ll look over it and try to come up with some ways to show them a good time. Maybe a nice tour of the ship? (Reply Wolfe) "The mission can't be divulged until I finish working out the last of the details," said Edward. “Understood, Sir.” Brianna’s gesture indicated the ship. “She’s configured as an explorer; she’s heavily armed, which implies to me that we’ll be taking on a few unexpected challenges. Crew seems to be hand-picked to deal with that kind of thing. At this point, that’s all I feel the need to know”. (Reply Wolfe) At the conclusion of the meal, Bree reiterated that if there was any other way she could be of assistance, Captain Wolf had only to call upon her. As a member of his bridge crew, it seemed only appropriate that she be flexible and responsive to the Captain’s needs, whether or not they were related directly to her position in OPS. The most important system on board any ship is its crew, and the Captain is the head of that crew. Starting with balancing power and responsibility there just made sense. Bree thanked her Captain for the opportunity to get to know him. As soon as he dismissed her, First, as per the Captain’s orders, she proceeded to set up her duty station. She noted what was working, what wasn’t, and where everything was. Of course she had already studied the Champlain’s deck plans before she arrived, but when fitting out a ship for a shakedown cruise, reality could not be expected to match any map that was even a few hours old. At about 13:22, another ensign approached her, coming from the Captain’s ready room; a cheerful-looking fellow, the same one she had seen coming in as she had left about fifteen minutes ago. He introduced himself. "Hallo Ensign Frazier. My name is Ensign Smith. It looks like we are working together." Bree rose, extended her hand, and smiled. “Brianna Frazier. We aren’t yet, but we will be soon enough. Shall we get to it? I haven’t had the chance to check in with the quartermaster yet, and I hear tell there’s going to be a party on board tonight. Lots to do, and a short time to do it!” (Reply Smith) Bree finished her business on the bridge, logged out of her station, and then sought out the quartermaster. With a sense of expediency that only a former transient street kid who had also worked in a hotel concierge department could really understand, she quickly settled into her quarters to an adequate extent for the moment. She checked her chronometer; 15:30. Plenty of time to meet some of the other key members of the crew, and be back in her quarters by around 18:30, check through the guest list, pick out a few key targets, study them a little, then get decked out in the whites. Bree made her way to 10 Forward; she had learned that it was closed for orchestra practice, but she decided to drop by anyway. She wanted to see it once before the party if she possibly could, “closed” or not. When she arrived there, she heard the screeching of a live orchestra tuning up. The door was closed, but not locked. So, she entered and surveyed the scene, looking for a likely subject to introduce herself to. Maybe a nice tour of the ship? "Well, you can have a look at the list. That isn't much of a problem. You should probably talk to Lieutenant Janeway in Ten Forward at some point though. Also, tours are... problematic... engineering is still working on several parts of the ship. We'll be mostly confined to Ten Forward for the party. Its not really a game filled, flashy party anyway," stated Edward.   (Reply Frazier - Room for more) "The mission can't be divulged until I finish working out the last of the details," said Edward. Edward nodded, this was the first crew member he'd met that didn't make it feel like a huge imposition that he didn't discuss the mission details openly. "She is an explorer, but a special one. I'm sure you'll eventually find our mission... fascinating."   After awhile, Edward and Ensign Frazier finished their meal and Edward reminded her to set up her Ops station. Edward then settled back into his reports and mission data.   (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain - transporter Room one - Ensign Smith - 1300) Robert materialized on the transporter pad. ~Oh my every thing is so big~ He realised he was gawping and quickly moved off the pad. he nodded to the crewman at the transporter controls and walked out. He walked up to the desk where the captain was sitting. "Ensign Smith reporting as ordered." (Posted by Robbie) (USS Champlain – Readyroom – CO – Captain Edward Wolfe – 1313)   Edward was plowing through paperwork and still going over mission details when his door chime sounded, yet again. He keyed the door to open. In walked a young man sporting the rank of full Ensign.   "Ensign Smith reporting as ordered."   Edward nodded, only looking up briefly from his PADD. "Ensign Smith, Ensign Frazier has already boarded and checked in. I believe she's working on encoding her details into the OPs station. You'll have to set your codes and settings as well. We're set to launch on Stardate 2407.03.03. Our launch party is tonight at 2000 in Ten Forward, its formal, so dress uniform please," finally Edward sat back and looked at the Ensign fully making eye contact, "I'm sorry, but things are awfully busy at the moment. Simpler days. However, this is not an Oberth Class vessel. This is a Galaxy Class Starship, almost 20 times the size. It is a community with powerful systems stretching throughout. He had been trying to find a workable and safe flight plan for the last two hours and the answer just kept coming back to the same thing over and over again. Sighing, Edward projected his pathways on the computer programme. ~There's so much to worry about on the way there. Admiral Doenitz's ships, the Borg, spatial rifts and anomalies... and now this.~ Edward felt a moment of frustration as he slammed his hand down on the desk and tried the terminal coordinates again. The line of the path of the USS Champlain began to worm its way through the universe, finding what the sensor logs and intell information found to be the most workable path, all the way to Ivor in the Eta Scorpii sector. Once again, as it had the countless times before, the computer determined that the safest path was through Sector 663, a place that Edward had no desire to go. After the battle, the sector had been left as a graveyard. Ships still hung in pieces through the sector, a grim reminder of his own past and in what he considered to be one of his own greatest failures. Grimly, Edward accepted that flight path, putting it in a locked file for the helm that would be opened the following day and programmed into the main navigational computer. ~At least I know the sector.~ (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain - Ten Forward - SC/TAC, Lieutenant Jono Janeway - 1537)   Jono had been sat in Ten Forward for a while now, he had been watching the Orchestra practise and helping out where ever he could. Setting up the tables more and then having to make some radical changes to the menu.   Suddenly Jono heard the door behind him open... again. He sighed, ~Why?~ Ten Forward hadnt even been open before today and it still wasnt - not until after the launch.   He turned, he had only just sat down as well.   He stood up and walked over, "Hello. Im Lieutenant Janeway is there anything i can help you with?" Jono asked politely, as he got closer he noticed she was Ops, there were no Ensign Op officers reported in... until today. So she wouldn't have known about Ten Forward.   (Reply Frazier)   Jono nodded, "Well I'm afraid getting anything to eat or drinks out of the question but you can give me an outsiders opinion on the whole place. "Indeed, Professor," Alosar nodded slightly, "having a face mask would, under most circumstances, prove to be more challenging than, as you put it, "pointy ears" and being "humorless."  In fact, these are traits that most expect in a Vulcan, and Vulcans are more predominant in Starfleet than Coridanites.  Your species are much less ... common.  It was my intention to make you feel more at ease." Making sure everything was perfect, he was in his Starfleet dress robes ready for the party. He was sorting out all the food and Orchestra and setting out the Admirals, Senior Officer and Junior officer tables out with name places. It had taken him about 50 minutes now just to do everything.   In the middle of all that he had champagne being replicated like it was water and plenty of other things going around.   He called a meeting of all the waiter's and waitresses.   "Ok, Hi all. I’m Lieutenant Jono Janeway. But you can all call be Jono, Basically the aim for tonight is to keep everybody happy and enjoying themselves. Make sure Champagne is circulated on a regular basis, and make sure all the nibbles are circulated as well. Once the Buffet begins make sure each Dish is full at all times, you never know when some poor hungry person might want something to eat."   "I know you all probably know all this, and I'm probably stepping on your toes but I've gotta make sure everything goes hunky dory to plan." Jono said with a bright smile on his face.   After that he nodded, to show them he had finished and then checked the time... 1955   ~Damn..~ He walked over to the Orchestra, "Start playing, Now." Jono said to them, the conductor nodded and then they began.   Jono sat back and began to enjoy the festivities, he himself had a place on the Senior Officer table... although he doubted he would be sitting there to often as the party was organized by him... He would be up and about making sure everything's good.   He noticed one of the waitresses struggling with some champagne and stood up to help her, "If you can carry it all at once, I would suggest carrying less. Miss." He said smiling, giving her some friendly advice.   "I have to say Lieutenant, you really pulled this off. Good job, I'm impressed," Came the voice of Janeway's CO, Jono spun on his heel.   "Why, thank-you. Sir. Try to enjoy yourself, Edward." Jono said in a more relaxed tone, after all they weren’t on duty. "Your seats on the Admirals table, I'm sure you'll find it easily enough" Jono said smiling and pointing at the biggest table.   "Well, enjoy yourself, meet some of the guests. Captain Sash and a few other people we know are around. I guess this should be okay," said Edward shrugging slightly.   Jono nodded, "I'm sure it'll be fine... Hopefully. After putting in two long nights back to back, she thought she would grant herself a early night, especially since the ship's other problems hadn't even been touched upon today, but nope, she had a party to go to. Her quarters were some what of a cultural shock, some parts of it, like the dining and living area were traditional Starfleet, however, her bed and bathroom were remodeled Elaysian style, to allow her easier use. She walked in stood still and unclasped the inner harness on her exoskeleton. "Computer, set gravity to Elaysia setting," Soon, she felt the heavy weight lift off her body, and she drifted up and out of the exoskeleton. At this point, she sprung into action. Being raised in this gravity level, she 'flew' through the air like a dolphin through water. A quick wash in the Elaysian-style sonic shower, and into her dress uniform. She settled back into the exoskeleton and clamped it shut. "Computer, set gravity to Earth standard." The pressure returned to her shoulders and chest, and her exoskeleton servomotors started up to support the weight on her legs and arms. Soon, she turned and left her quarters. "Coordinates locked Captain, ready for beam over at your order."   "Energize."   The growing whine filled the transporter chamber as the room to his eyes began to dissolve into an infinitude of brightly sparkling motes of energy, the familiar feeling of being stretched in every direction unnerved some people, like many veterans of the procedure however he barely took note of it.    (Posted by Charles Gatling) (USS Champlain – Transporter Room 1 – Captain Saleke – 1953)   The transporter room of the Mystique had totally disappeared after which the scenery began to reconstruct before him, he was in another transporter room all right. He wandered around the room, in his more than a little uncomfortable dress uniform complete with decorations, and listened to the orchestra playing. Nodding, he took a glass of what seemed to be champagne off of a tray when offered by one of the wait staff. Finally, Edward spotted Janeway and walked up to him. "I have to say Lieutenant, you really pulled this off. Good job, I'm impressed," said Edward with a faint smile. Not lost on him was the fact that none of them really had time to be here, but this was one of those necessary evils, he supposed, to launching a ship. Edward did not personally know Captain Saleke, but his reputation was well known. The Vulcan was highly regarded and decorated. Edward had no doubt that the man would make a fine captain for the USS Hades.   "Captain Saleke, glad you could make it," said Edward smiling, "I'm told you and I have a dubious honour of both serving under Captain Sash at one time or another." Edward knew better than to employ sarcastic humour with a Vulcan, but he couldn't resist the temptation.   (Reply Saleke)   "It was meant as a joke Captain. He had ensured that the day before he'd sent instructions to all of his key officers to meet in the Observation Lounge to go over mission details at 1000. Finally, they were going to get things underway. Edward still felt slightly at a loss over this mission. The fact they were tracking through a sight he was familiar with was both comforting and terrifying. Still, he had to show calm in the face of it all. This was their first mission and an important one.   Edward checked the time again and gathered up his information on a series of PADDs and started for the Observation Lounge.   (USS Champlain - Observation Lounge - SC/TAC - Lieutenant Jono Janeway - 0950)   After last nights party, Jono had got enough sleep to get him through the day. He walked into the Conference room, to find himself one of the first to arrive. Wolfe wasn’t even there yet, As he looked around he chose a spot on the table. It was middle/top and suited Janeway just fine, He looked around and nodded and said "How is everybody today?"   (Reply any who are there at this time)   Jono turned to see Wolfe walk into the room. Jono asked with a beaming grin right across his face.   (Reply Wolfe IYW)   As more and more people joined the staff meeting, Jono began to feel like the ship was finally coming together. As the talking died down, Jono looked over to Wolfe.   He had been in enough of these things now to have learnt that the CO would probably start at the quietest moments.   "Alright everyone, I know there is a lot of excitement as to what our first mission will be and its understandable. We are primarily an exploration vehicle and we're headed for the Typhon Expanse. Our job there will be twofold, to explore. If you'll excuse the indulgence, to seek out new worlds and new civilizations... to boldy go... if you will. The second aspect of our job will be to check the growth of Admiral Doenitz's forces, to keep his people from violating the Prime Directive and to engage them when necessary." Edward said,   Jono jumped in almost instantly, he did it in hope of getting all the new Ensigns to gain confidence and say what they thought during the meeting. "Sir, What is the likely hood of us running into Doenitz's forces in the Typhoon Expanse?" Jono said as he looked around the table encouragingly.   (Reply Wolfe, any - room for more)   "Our most immediate mission aspect is to proceed to Eta Scorpii, more specifically Ivor Prime. Some of you will find this planet familiar. It once was a Federation colony of about 120,000 Federation citizens. It was destroyed by the Borg in 2373. For the last 34 years its sat, to the best of our knowledge uninhabited. Now, Admiral Lodonna is in need of space to put thousands of refugees from the civil war. As a result, Ivor Prime has generated new interest. We are to go to the planet and survey it for suitability. We'll also need to retrieve Federation records, technology and... bodies... if there still are any. The utmost care will have to be taken in terms of retrieval, which is one of the reasons we have taken on archaeologists,"   One thing struck Jono's nerve in what Edward had just said. Jono said one word with a confused facial expression, "Borg?" Jono asked curiously... He hoped Wolfe would elaborate on if he meant the Borg were still there or not.   (Reply Wolfe, any - room for more)   "I'm sure you're aware that this is still a dangerous area of space. We have the Romulan Star Empire close at hand and there is still heavy Borg activity in the area. This is, of course, ignoring the fact that Doenitz has been rumoured to be active in the area. This means that Security is going to have to do a lot of work. I need to be sure that we can hold up against the triple threat. Every scenario has to be run and we have to ensure targeting and weapons systems as well as defensive measures are working," Edward then looked from Janeway to his assistant Sullivan.   "Aye Sir. Security will be ready" Jono said and then looked at Sullivan as if to ask her to back up his claim. He nodded to her,   (Reply Sullivan)   Edward then went on to address Engineering, and then Operations:   "Operations staff needs to ensure equipment and power flow is up to specs. They also have to make sure that they can work within whatever simulations Lieutenant Janeway designs to ensure power is kept available and constant to the systems needed. This is an absolutely crucial role," stated Edward   Jono looked over at the two Ops Ensigns. He hoped they would be easy Ensigns to work with, He nodded to them as one of them spoke....   (Reply Smith/Frazier)   Wolfe then went onto Science, Medical and Counselling. Jono continued jotting down notes, on what everyone's assigned tasks were.   "Now, that being done. Are there any questions or suggestions?" asked Edward.   Jono sat up, "Sir, When are we expected to receive the rest of the crew compliment?" Jono asked politely, still looking down at his PADD. We have to be ready to launch on 2407.03.03 and all systems will have to be operational by 2407.03.05, when we are scheduled to arrive in the Eta Scorpii system, although I'd prefer them sooner," stated Edward nodding to Lieutenant Dezlar.   (Reply Dezlar)   "Operations staff needs to ensure equipment and power flow is up to specs. They also have to make sure that they can work within whatever simulations Lieutenant Janeway designs to ensure power is kept available and constant to the systems needed. This is an absolutely crucial role," stated Edward, directing his comment at Ensigns Smith and Frazier.   (Reply Smith and/or Frazier)   "Scientific, we need sensors operational, both long-range and short range. I need calibrations made to scan for sentient life forms on the planet's surface. I also need you to study the colony records to produce a colony map. Excavation might be necessary once we arrive, it will be easier if we know where we're going," Edward stated looking at La Qua and d'Kla's'turr.   d'Kla's'turr for his part just nodded, taking in the information.   (Reply La Qua)   Edward paused for a second again, "Medical and Counselling... medical, I think its pretty evident what you have to do. Counselling, I need you to be ready for potential first contact. We don't know who has moved into the planet in our absence, if anyone has. I also need you to review information on the Borg and the Romulans. You may also have to check on some of our crew. For many of them this is their first mission, some anxiety and fear might be occurring. I need everyone ready, willing and able when the time comes."   (Reply Alosar, Rhinehart)   "Now, that being done. Are there any questions or suggestions?" asked Edward.   (Reply any) (Posted by Jeff) [COMPILE ENDS]
