He moved silently toward the Captain before deactivating the cloaking device. “Captain” (reply Remae) “I apologise sir however I did not believe it to be logical for me to be seen within the Campus. I assume you have determined that we are no longer within our timeline?” (reply Remae) “Over the past few hours temporal investigations has detected an unusual temporal wavefront, or more precisely they have detected the chronotonic discrepancy produced by that wavefront, they have determined that the timeline is not as its originally was however are unable to determine what alterations took place. By comparing my own knowledge of history with the records of this timeline I have as yet been unable to determine the precise event were convergence occurs however there is a notable difference from approximately stardate 3240.8 in Starfleet policy. Within our timeline the Federation is a peaceful entity however within this timeline the Federation is considerably more aggressive, it does appear to have been of considerable benefit however.” (reply Remae) “In this timeline the Federation defeated the Klingons, the Romulans, the Dominion and even the Borg, all with the exception of the Borg are now members of the Federation and the Dominion was defeated within three days of the initiation of hostilities. On a more personal note Captain in this timeline the Cardassians were attacked by the Federation approximately one year into the occupation of Bajor, they were defeated and Bajor is presently an influential world within the Federation. This Federation is considerably larger than we are familiar with, its territory extents considerably into the Delta quadrant and is presently expanding into the Gamma quadrant, present membership is 516 member worlds and over two hundred protectorates. The technology level is also considerably higher; slipstream technology, advanced nanite technology, quantum bio-computers, even miniaturised cloaking devices.” Soval gestured to the black metallic disc attached to his uniform. "To conclude sir, this timeline would appear to be substantially improved upon our own." (reply Remae, any) (posted by John Morrison) SFI Agent Soval (USS Spectre) (USS Apollo - Captain's Quarters - CO, Captain Ariana - 2131) Ariana flicked off her COMM line with Commandant Remea. Going back to Earth was going to reduce a lot of pressure on the crew of the Apollo, the conscription drive on Andoria had gone well, but the Andorians were not known for being a truely agreeable even when it involved helping out with the organization they had helped change so rapidly in the past. She knew shore leave was a necessity. ~Damn this, it seems I'm slipping into this reality. Losing grip over what really happened~ Ariana grabbed hold of a PADD and recorded into it the truth about her life, everything she knew was real since before the strange shift in the timeline. She also trawled through Starfleet records, and was rather shocked at the difference between this reality and the one she had left. Starfleet had become a shady organization, backstabbing and full on conflict was a standard with this timeline. Ariana's ship was basically a warship. It was heavily armed, came with a phasing cloak which could be ativated while using an advanced torpedo system. The torpedos themselves could phase in an out, and were designed to phase through a ships sheild and hull, exploding internally and causing vicious damage. Still a Doctor at heart, no matter how much the timeline was forcing her to think otherwise, Ariana became disgusted at an organization bent on killing or dominating so many people in such horrid fashion. Ariana stood up and wandered over to her wardrobe. Pulling a standard looking red uniform from it Ariana changed, and swapped her pips over. She pulled a large black box out of the wardobe, which she knew carried her black ops equipment and her Black company insignia and rank inside. She attached the small dagger shaped insignia to her right shoulder and the long silver black captains rank bar underneather her starfleet captains pips. Ariana picked up the PADD, reviewed the information on it, and then stepped out of her quarters. (USS Apollo - Bridge - Co, Captain Ariana - 2158) Ariana watched the view screen as the Apollo dropped out of Slipstream just outside of the saturn defence net. She looked at the heavy defence frigates that sat just in front of the Apollo, baring its way to Earth. As the Apollo slowly floated forward, two of the frigates moved in towards Ariana's vessel. "They are requesting authorization sir" Chirped up the OPs officer from just in front of her. "Send them the codes, and out orders. They'll want those too." Ariana mumured. As the OPs officer transmitted the information, the two eager frigates turned off, giving the Apollo a route through to home. Ariana nodded at her CONN officer and the Apollo jumped up a notch and headed into the system "OPS. Send a few messages out. Firstly, inform Admiral Doenitz that we have returned for shore leave, and that she'll be ready for new orders in 72 hours. Secondly send a communication to Admiral Soval, Black operative 271A23 is back in. I'm sure that he will want to see his old friend once again" Ariana inflated the truth there rather. She hoped that Soval recognized her name, she had spotted his name on the Spectre's roster before everything had gone weird and knew he would likely of checked her record out before hand too, so she hoped he would play along. "Also, send a message down to Commandant Ktell letting him know his "student" is on shore leave and waiting to see him." Ariana smiled as the OPs officer got on with his job. About ten minutes later the Apollo was in orbit. Ariana looked at the screen. Dominion, Cardassian, Klingon, Vulcan and Breen ships circled the planet at a respectable distance along with several Federation style vessels. As the Apollo slipped through the crowd, Ariana noticed the Cardassian ship was that of Gul Hulon, a member of the Obsidian order. ~The only thing missing now is a Romulan ship, then we'll have all the major players. Probably a member of all the secret services in there somewhere as well~ (reply Remea, Soval, any) (posted by Matthew Hackett) (Earth - Starfleet Academy, Main Complex - SFI Agent Sovall - 21.48) "Go on, this sounds fascinating." "In this timeline the Federation defeated the Klingons, the Romulans, the Dominion and even the Borg, all with the exception of the Borg are now members of the Federation and the Dominion was defeated within three days of the initiation of hostilities. On a more personal note Captain in this timeline the Cardassians were attacked by the Federation approximately one year into the occupation of Bajor, they were defeated and Bajor is presently an influential world within the Federation. Soval gestured to the black metallic disc attached to his uniform. "To conclude sir, this timeline would appear to be substantially improved upon our own." Remae gave the SFI Agent a frown. "Think of it as a vacation, a home away from home but right now, we've got to find a way back and take everyone with us. meet me in the Commandant's Office in 15 minutes." Soval nodded in reply before reactivating his cloaking device, he then left the communications building to perform a brief reconnaissance of the surrounding area. (Earth - Starfleet Academy, Commandant's Office, SFI Agent Soval- 22.00) Soval entered the commandants office slightly ahead of the scheduled time intending to scout the location before revealing his presence; an old habit yet it had proved to be a beneficial one. His attention was momentarily distracted when his combadge ; he withdrew into one of the adjoining rooms before activating his wrist display primarily due to his training as apposed to any increased security that such a position would bring. ~Captain Ariana Torelle, fascinating~ he thought breifly as he recalled the ensigns record having only been able to view it breifly prior to recent events. "Computer send to Black operative 271A23; your presence is most unexpected old friend however i predict that our renewed correlation should prove most beneficial. I am presently conversing with a common acquaintance; a Captain we once knew, i believe you are aware of our location if you wish to beam down." Soval waited until his personal computer confrimed transmission and reception of the message before returning to the Captains location and deactivating his cloaking device. "How's your memory, Commander? We need to locate every member of the Spectre's crew. the initial search on the senior crew is coming in now, there are gaps though, I don't see Octan on any of these lists. can you access SFI records, I fully expect your information to be more complete that these public records?" "Indeed" Soval moved across to the rooms wall terminal where he accessed SFI datafiles; he had requested a computer search for the Spectres personnel before departing to meet with the Captain however he did not wish to hinder the Captains intellectual stimulation from being in such a situation. He stood back as the computer displayed the files of those individuals it had located so as to allow the Captain to view them, he was slightly curious about one file in particular. "Captain Mr Octan is under investigation by Admiral Doenitz, unfortunately he has encrypted the file and it will take several hours to counter his algorithms, but the reasoning for the investigation must be substantial as there are few files i am unable to access." (reply Remae) "Indeed, Admiral Doenitz is the C&C of starfleet." (Reply from Remae, Torelle, Any) (Posted by John Morrison) FO/CSO Lt Comdr Fugan B'Lanor (USS Cochrane) SFI Agent Soval (USS Spectre) (Earth, Oahu,Hawaii, Kahila Lono, 22:20) Kahila had spent several minutes traveling within herself, within her own memories, examing both sets, trying to determine which were strongest. She realized that the memory set which included her present life seemed the most strong, so long as her senses were turned outward, giving her evidence of that lifetime's reality. And . . .a large part of her mind wanted to believe in that life. Yet, when she examined the larger picture -- the memory of the aliens and their strange testing proceedures, the way they'd stolen her memories and ways of thought -- she wondered if they, whoever they were, had been able to change the timeline in some way, or to put her into an alternate reality. If so, their motives were certainly questionable! What could they plan to accomplish by this? It must be something far-ranging, very far beyond her own life, affecting Starfleet and the Federation itself. Kahila knew she had to find out what was happening and why. As part of the crew of the Spectre, she might even be needed to thwart the aliens' plans. She opened her eyes, but didn't dare look around the room and be claimed by its memories and attachments. Then, rather than asking Eve to place the call, Kahila keyed in Commandant Remae's address. A few moments later, she saw his face appear on the screen. Suddenly, he became more real to her. She said, "Captain? Or do I mean, Commandant?" Eyes not moving from the screen, she waited to see if he'd recognize her. reply Remae posted by Josephine Goodman <> Mission: Unknown Country, Day 2 Stardate 2406.05.11 (Cardassian Warship, Octan, 09:00) Octan had slept well, but was still tired as he woke. Training had been hard after all. Ro had told him many new things, but as usual, she didn't let him go before putting him through the wringer Physically as well. He stumbled over to the beeping screen, noting the pain in his legs and dismissing it just as quickly. The feeling was becoming normal now. He reached the terminal and quicky silenced the beep, before accessing the message. He was being summoned to the bridge at his earliest convenience. He smiled at that - he wasn't normally allowed to do things 'at his earliest convenience'. Still, it couldn't be urgent, so he would take his time. He crossed over to the shower and let the warm water rush over his body. This was always one of his favourite times and he much preferred real water to the sonic showers sometimes used. He let his thoughts wander and, not for the first time, they didn't seem right. He kept having this nagging suspicion that something was wrong - that he wasn't where he was supposed to be. He seemed to recall memories of a Starfleet ship but, as he did every time, he put them down to Ro's stories and his own dreams about finally stepping onto a Starfleet bridge. He realised that they were as much Ro's desires as his own - that the reason he felt so strongly about it is because she did. NRPG: Octan doesn't pick up on the timeline anomaly as quickly as the others, mainly because, in this timeline, his life is virtually identical to the 'real' one - same memories etc. RPG: (Cardassian Warship, Bridge, Octan, 09:30) Octan stepped onto the bridge just as the viewscreen dimmed, but he couldn't help notice the uniform of a Starfleet Admiral, just as he disappeared from view. He shot a quizzical glance at Ro as she turned around to face him. "That was Admiral Doenitz, C&C of Starfleet," Ro began. "They have been trying to contact us for some time, it seems, but because we veered so far off course, we were out of communications range for months." "Why are we back in range?" Octan asked. "Well, the plan was to get you into Starfleet Academy, somehow," Ro replied. "That's been changed a little, though." "How?" Octan enquired. "In our 'absence', things have happened. It seems that the Dominion have been defeated. As a result, the Maquis has disbanded and the last threat to Bajor has ended. So, Starfleet have offered me an olive branch. They have invited me back into their ranks and have reinstated my rank as Captain." Ro smiled, surprising Octan. He had not realised that that was what she really wanted. "I am even getting command of my old ship back," she continued, "and you, my dear Octan, are going to be my First Officer. It was one of my conditions, which Doenitz has just agreed to. So Octan, you'd better get ready. Our new assignment awaits us, Commander." Mission: Unknown Country, Day 3 Stardate 2406.05.12 (USS Spectre, Bridge, FO Octan, 10:00) Octan stepped on the bridge, following an obviously satisfied Ro Kaelyn. On the way to the Spectre, she had told him that she was happy it was all finally over - that she could now just be a regular Starfleet Captain. That had always been the best time of her life, but her ambition to see the Bajoran people completely free had always overrided that. But, now they were, and she was happy to reassume her role on the Spectre. NRPG: Anthony, just to clarify - obviously Ro does not know Remae, since in this timeline, he was never on the Spectre. But, because of her desire to see the Bajoran people freed, she followed almost the same path in every possible timeline. In some, she was killed early, though :) RPG: Octan froze. It couldn't be. But it was. He knew he had been on this bridge before. Something in his mind clicked as he glanced around. That was his station... That's where Captain Remae sits... Kahila... Soval... Those names seemed to mean something to him, but what? He was confused. Ro. She was real. Were these others? Somehow, they seemed just as real. But where? How? When?
