JG Banowsky - 1607) (USS Spectre, Main Engineering - First Officer T’Vhor - 1608) -=/\=- (USS Spectre, Bridge - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 0900) Remae entered the Bridge and although most of the crew were on Geneva, he was happy to see some of the officers and crew at their stations, preparing for their departure. The CO had spent the past few weeks actually on the Spectre, inspecting the refit and getting his hands dirty usually around Engineering although he was quite interested in the refit of the infiltrator sections of the ship. Stardate 2407.01.01 (USS Spectre, Engineering - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 1500) "You there!", said someone from across the bay to the Captain, who wasn't the Captain today, just because it was a new day of a new year, didn't stop Remae messing around with the new warp core, H’Chir and his team spent the past few weeks extracting and installing the core and engineering systems around Engineering but Remae being Remae, thought that he could make it better, just another percentage of power output to the nacelles but in truth, it was a way to get away from the tremendous boredom of being a Captain in Starfleet when not underway. Admirals, Commodores, the list went on and on, most of them didn't want to know the Bajoran, his reputation proceeded him so he had more paperwork to deal with than any other Captain in the Federation, probably the universe. "I said, you there! Give me a hand!", said the voice form the other side of the pit of the warp core, Remae dressed in overalls and not his usually crisp red uniform. A small brigade from the Dock was delivering supplies and an odd looking console was being pulled by a short, round main who looked like he had spent too long in front of a replicator and not enough time doing whatever job he was suppose to do. It turned out that most of the supplies were involved in the refit of the Spectre to accommodate her new status as an infiltrator. Remae still had to work out what this meant and was hoping for a chance to watch the engineering teams at work. Stardate 2407.01.13 (USS Spectre, Bridge - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 0905) "Okay, let's go. plot a course for Geneva and engage,” said Remae to the assembled but reduced Bridge Staff. The Spectre eased out of her dock slowly at first and then slightly faster as she cleared the docking releasing her umbilical connections. The lights dimmed as she departed her dock. Easing her way through the traffic around the docks, the Spectre departed and headed out on the short trip to Geneva which was a few hours away at impulse. Stardate 2407.01.05 (USS Spectre, Torpedo Bay - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 1854) Laura, the head of the Phoenix teams that had come aboard to refit the Spectre, had become fast friends with Remae, they spent a lot of time together, either crawling around some Jefferies tube or playing with some new gadget or invention that had been installed to bring the Spectre up to infiltrator specifications. Today, he was playing around with a new type of probe, capable of gathering a lot of information while itself, was undetectable to scans, Remae could see such a device become very useful indeed. Stardate 2407.01.13 (USS Spectre, Bridge - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 1200) Slowly increasing her speed to full impulse, it wasn't long before the Spectre was on final approach to Geneva, Remae noted that traffic around the Starbase seemed to be at an all time low. he decided that docking the ship wasn't required and the helmsman was ordered to assume a standard parking orbit around Geneva. =^= Welcome Spectre =^= The Operations centre on Geneva made contact and informed them that their new First Officer was onboard and waiting for them and that Admiral LoDona had orders for the Captain, that were being transmitted and that the crew transfer would begin at once. Remae indicated that the crew were at liberty to beam over to Geneva for a short time, "OPS, contact Lt T'Vhor and ask him to see me in my Ready Room at his earliest convenience,” he said entering his Ready Room to read over the orders and to wait the arrival of the new FO. (Reply from Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (Starbase Geneva, Deck 75 Docking Port - COUNS, Divon Lronen - 1142) Divon knew he was early, but he also knew that the Spectre was on her way. It would be soon now. The station was close to empty now as most of the command crew had been transferred off station. The war had seen to it that all able officers were offloaded. Six days ago, the station emptied of all but a skeleton crew. Six days ago they had all left on a runabout.   The days leading up to the exodus had been interesting to say the least. Filled with explosions, mysteries, and strange things. Divon stayed out of the way and let the crew deal with these, although he was tempted to pledge his aid when the station's First Officer was almost killed in a bomb blast. The crew dealt with the issues though, and all was now quiet. Instead, Divon had contented himself with some time with Sabine, despite several instances of general quarters being called. Actually, in some senses, General Quarters being called enhanced his time with Sabine. Divon grinned to himself at that prospect.   He would miss Sabine, but duty called and he knew she would be disembarking in a couple days on the Augustus. Quietly, he had left her sleeping and packed his bags this morning. She enjoyed late mornings. Divon couldn't help but wonder how she dealt with her duties as counsellor if she didn't get up early. ~I'll have to investigate that.~ Divon thought grinning. He also imagined, however, that the Augustus wasn't quite as exciting as the Spectre was.   ::SO! You thought you'd sneak out without saying goodbye did you?::   Divon swung around to see Sabine advancing towards him. She didn't look amused. He felt his face grow hot with embarrassment. ::It wasn't like that. I just didn't want...::   ::What? To make me feel like something more than a fling aboard a space station?::   Divon shook his head, ::I don't do goodbyes well. I wanted to save us both that. I'm sorry.::   ::You'd better be,:: came the terse reply as Sabine flung her arms around Divon and the couple kissed passionately. At first Divon was more than aware and concerned about the crew of the Spectre, also waiting for disembarkment, watching. Then he felt himself melt into the moment, becoming oblivious to the world around him.   It felt like seconds later when he heard the comm come to life, =^=Attention all crew of the USS Spectre. Please report to Deck 75 transporters. You are cleared to disembark.=^=   Divon now treasured his time with Sabine, the short while that was left, before returning to the USS Spectre and his duty. (Starbase Geneva, Deck 75 Docking Port - CMO Williams - 1150) Andrew grinned to him self as he saw Divon being kissed by a good looking woman. ~See that he had a good time.~ He ran his hand above his right eye along the tattoo. ~So did I~ He smiled at the memory. =^=Attention all crew of the USS Spectre. Please report to Deck 75 transporters. You are cleared to disembark.=^= ~Better get going~ He stepped forward onto the transporter PADD.   (USS Spectre, Ready Room, CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 12.04) "Sir, we need to talk." Remae had just sat down to read the orders from the Admiral when the Counsellor came in, looking well despite his ordeal a few months ago; although Remae had seen him on occasion over the past few months, he had a hard time remembering when they last had 'a talk'. "Come in Mr. Lronen, what's up?” said Remae putting down the PADD with the encrypted orders on them he hadn't examined yet. "It seems, sir, that Starfleet is a bit perturbed at both of us. Apparently I haven't been trying hard enough to do your psych evaluation. I assured them, as you'll see in the report, that you pose no concern in terms of ability and duty. They don't care. I don't much want to be working on a deep space station, and I believe you wouldn't enjoy captaining a sensor array. I think we'd better get this done, soon,” he said. The Bajoran let out an audible sigh. "Very well, Counsellor - I see Starfleet has changed its tactics dealing with me. fine. When are you available?” he asked, anticipating the first schedule request. "I can't right now, in case you were wondering, I have some orders to read and a new First Officer to greet. How does 16.00 sound to you?” Remae said trying not to sound too annoyed with the treatment he perceived that continued to emanate from Command, perhaps Captain Ro did the right thing, disappearing one day and returning to a life that meant something. something more than this constant bashing of heads. (Reply from Lronen) "Thank you, dismissed Counsellor and thanks for backing me up in your discussions with Starfleet, I won't forget it,” said Remae returning to his PADD, and only then thinking that the Counsellor probably heard all he had just thought. Remae shrugged it off. ~ Too bad ~ (USS Spectre, Ready Room - COUNS, Divon Lronen - 1207)   "I can't right now, in case you were wondering, I have some orders to read and a new First Officer to greet. How does 1600 sound to you?” Ktell said with perceptable annoyance in his voice. Divon nodded, "It will do Sir. You know that this isn't my choice. This isn't the way I want to do things." "Thank you, dismissed Counsellor and thanks for backing me up in your discussions with Starfleet, I won't forget it,” said Remae returning to his PADD.   Divon nodded at the man and kept his mental walls erected. He didn't want to hear the Captain's thoughts, he could well imagine. ~Four hours to kill first.~   (USS Spectre, Sickbay - CMO Williams - 1210) Andrew stepped into sickbay and looked around. There had been a few changes since he was gone. ~Well I can see that they did not take up my idea about a fish tank or maybe I can get the Captain to find me a assistant~ He walked into his office and slid his bag onto the table. He opened it and carefully took out his medicine bag that he was given by Moonshine on his last day. He then looked into a mirror that he kept on the wall. He saw him self looking back but from above his right eyebrow two dark blue lines ran down the side of his head and finished beside his right ear. ~The captain is going to have a fit when he sees this.~ He glanced at the piles of PADDs on his desk. ~Oh great more reports. I should have stayed on Argos VII~ He sat down and began to go through the PADDs. ~Oh great! Crewman Brooks has piles, oh wonderful and Ensign Longman has a Bolian STD. They don't call it the Bolian pain stick for nothing. My god, he has had it for a week. Bet he has not been urinating much~ Andrew shook his head. "Crewman Brooks and Ensign Longman please report to Sickbay at your earliest convenience." (Reply any) (Posted By Robbie) (USS Spectre, Bridge - COUNS, Divon Lronen - 1212) Divon walked onto the bridge and looked around. The refit had been kind. The bridge looked practically brand new. Divon made way to his chair to the left of the Captain's seat and sat down hard in it. ~The control array is new,~ he thought to himself and began to check the configurations. Divon was impressed by the records downloaded, several new sentient species had been added, along with cultural information and psychological generalities. He continued to examine the database and systems, ~Enhanced translation capability, dialect augmentation, social imperative scanning, language and species mapping... should make the job easier,~ Divon nodded. He knew it was very seldom that he actually relied on technology to do his job, whether it was as counsellor to the crew or bridge advisor but every little bit helped.   (Reply any on the bridge, none) (Posted by Jeff) (USS Spectre, Bridge - COUNS, Divon Lronen - 1217)   Divon strode onto the bridge and looked around it. ~No Ktell, must be in his readyroom,~ thought Divon to himself as he made his way to the readyroom chime, pressed it and waited.   (Reply Ktell)   Seeing the door open, Divon walked in and let it slide shut behind him.   "Sir, we need to talk," stated Divon laying the PADD he received in his debriefing in front of the Captain.   (reply Ktell)   "It seems, sir, that Starfleet is a bit perturbed at both of us. I think we'd better get this done, soon," stated Divon with no small part of concern.   (Reply Ktell) (Posted by Jeff) (USS Spectre, Sickbay - CMO Williams - 1230) Andrew threw the PADD down in despair. There were only so many medical reports that one person could manage in one go. ~Better get out of here before I go mad~ He got up and paced his office. ~Better start getting an update on people’s medical files and made get some one to chat to~ "Computer where is Counsellor Lronen?" [Counsellor Lronen is on the bridge] ~Good let’s start there~ He turned and left sickbay. (Starbase Geneva, Strategic Ops Center – StratOps, Commander Tahlmari - 1230)   Tahl had been spending much of the Spectre's down time in search of his missing wife. Her ship had disappeared several month's ago, without a trace. It was a simple science and exploration vessel. A bit of a let down, really, from the behomoth of the USS Cochrane, but it did keep her in exploration, which she was more excited about, as the Cochrane was recruited for the war effort.   After the mission with the Phantom Tahl had gotten a lead and had requested a short leave of absence to check it out. The lead did not get him to Alexandra Lowell, but it did send him to an adventure that left him with a brand new scar on his chin, a new enemy to beware of and a new friend, that might help out in their war effort. For him, personally, the venture was a failure, but for the Federation and the 52nd, it couldn't have gone better.   However, the spaceflight back gave Tahl a lot of time to go over the event s on the Phantom. He was still disturbed by some of the behavior of Captain Remae. He knew that he was due for reassignment to another part of the fleet, but there was just something about the Bajoran CO that worried him.   When he arrived at Geneva he went straight to the Strat Ops center that had been built there for the cause and made contact with Admiral LoDona. Their conversation had been long and heated.   "I understand what you're saying Admiral," Tahl sais, "but there's still something there. I don't know what. He's on the edge of a breakdown."   =^=A full psych eval has been ordered, and should be done the end of today Commander. We'll see what happens there.=^=   "Yes sir," Tahl nodded, "inthe mean time I request that I stay with the Spectre until a determination has been made."   LoDona remained quiet for a few seconds. =^=Request granted. But we do need you back here Commander. And you're certainly not going to be making any friends there, if things go bad.=^=   "I understand Admiral," Tahl gave a hint of a smile, "but I never took this job to make friends."   LoDona smiled back. =^=Understood. Out.=^=   The channel closed and the picture returned to the UFP symbol on the screen. Tahl sat back a sighed. What a joyous job he had.   "You bring it on yourself," a voice said over his shoulder.   "Oh shut up Bob," Tahl replied disgusted and stood up to leave the room.   "I'm just saying..." the voice echoed after him as the door closed. (USS Spectre, Bridge - CMO Williams - 1238) Andrew walked into the bridge. He noticed that some of the crew gave him sly looks. ~Great my tattoo is not as hidden as I though~ He quickly whipped his hand over his tattoo in a vain attempt at trying to hide it. He noticed Lronen sitting in his chair. ~Better go and talk to him or the bridge crew will start to stare~ He walked over to him and sat beside him. "Hallo Divon how are you doing?" (Reply Lronen) "Did you have a nice brake?" (Reply Lronen) Andrew grinned sheepishly and tried to cover the tattoo with some of his hair. "I know I have tried everything to cover it but the crafty old medicine man must have put something together that means that I can't remove it." (Reply Lronen, any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre, Bridge - COUNS, Divon Lronen - 1240)   Divon watched as the doctor walked onto the bridge and strode towards him. He had adorned himself with a tatoo, most likely some attempt to bring himself closer to his ancestors, or perhaps someone elses'.   "Hello Divon how are you doing?" "Fine thank you, yourself?" replied Divon politely. "Did you have a nice break?" Divon raised an eyebrow as the doctor nervously ignored Divon's counter question. He noticed that the doctor was fidgeting with his tattoo. In truth, Divon didn't really care, although he couldn't help but wonder why Williams got it if he was so embarrassed of it.   "I had a fairly good time, except for the time that I was in classes. I'm sure you find the same thing when you go in for refreshers. Boring as all get out, and most of the instructors have no idea what its like to really serve aboard a starship," stated Divon averting his eyes from the man's fidgeting and trying to focus on his eyes. Andrew grinned sheepishly and tried to cover the tattoo with some of his hair. "I know I have tried everything to cover it but the crafty old medicine man must have put something together that means that I can't remove it." At this point Divon did raise his eyebrows. He hadn't even mentioned it. Why would a counsellor bring something up that was obviously causing someone such distress in public? That would be something he'd be more apt to bring up in a counselling session, which Divon mentally reminded himself to schedule for the good doctor at a later date. He was behaving oddly after all, not that odd behaviour was anything unusual on the Spectre.   "Ummm... I see, I wouldn't worry about it," stated Divon offhandedly trying to ignore the source of the man's unease, "Now, tell me, why were you visiting medicine men? Did you do anything else on your time off?"   (Reply Williams) (Posted by Jeff) (USS Spectre, Bridge - CMO Williams - 1245) "Ummm... I see, I wouldn't worry about it," stated Divon offhandedly trying to ignore the source of the man’s unease, "Now, tell me, why were you visiting medicine men? Did you do anything else on your time off?" Andrew gave up moving his hair. "Well I was asked to go to a conference on Argos VII about traditional medicine and its relevance on modern medicine. This conference was about five days and one of the speakers was a Doctor Moonshine who came from Argos VII. She did a very interesting talk about spiritual healing and vision quests which I found interesting. So after the conference finished I decided to stay and learn more about vision quests and the sort as well as do some diving which Argos VII is quite renowned for." He looked at Divon and realised that he should start to get to the point or he might bore him to death. "Well after a few weeks of reading and researching with Moonshine she took me to the medicine man who was this old man living in a small hut. He gave me some strange hallucinogenic drink. it sent me on what can only be described as a vision quest where I met my animal guide. When I awoke the medicine man had done this. He told me later that the tattoo was the mark of the traveller and with my animal guide would help me on my journey" Andrew ran his fingers across his tattoo. "It's not exactly Starfleet issue." He gave Divon a worried grin. "I'm just worried that the caption is going to have a fit when he sees it." (Reply Lronen) (Posted By Robbie) (USS Spectre, Bridge - COUNS, Divon Lronen - 1247)   "It's not exactly Starfleet issue," grinned Williams at him, "I'm just worried that the captain is going to have a fit when he sees it."   Divon considered this and thought about their Captain. He suppressed a chuckle when considering the problems that Ktell was having at the moment.   "I wouldn't worry about that Doctor," stated Divon casually, "He treats his senior staff fairly well and it does have some kind of spiritual significance for you. There are some allowances given for that. So, have you checked out sickbay? Any upgrades or new systems? I was just marvelling at the changes made to my station."   (Reply Williams)   "I see. Well, here they've added several linguistic databases and cultural information for a bunch of new species. That should make future missions a bit easier. They've also given a list of known species who... well... who can't be 'read'," Divon said, barely able to contain himself. The concept of tailoring a station specifically to his abilities never snuck into his mind. Then again, he had come from a ship filled with medical staff and counsellors. Everyone had their hands full with various other difficulties most of the time. The missions of the Spectre were... unique... in comparison.   (Reply Williams) (Posted by Jeff) (USS Spectre, Bridge - CMO Williams - 1250) "I wouldn't worry about that Doctor," stated Divon casually, "He treats his senior staff fairly well and it does have some kind of spiritual significance for you. There are some allowances given for that. So, have you checked out sickbay? Any upgrades or new systems? I was just marvelling at the changes made to my station." Andrew grinned. "Yes they have. They have upgraded the surgical theatre as well as most of my sensor and diagnostic equipment. They have also updated my medical files as well which is great. But the best bit is that we now have the latest EMH on board." "I see. Well, here they've added several linguistic databases and cultural information for a bunch of new species. That should make future missions a bit easier. They've also given a list of known species who... well... who can't be 'read'," ~That’s good to know~ “That’s great! It’s good to see that they installed something useful during the refit." (Reply Lronen, any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre, Bridge - StratOps, Commander Tahlmari - 1300)   Tahl had thought about wandering around Geneva for a while, but spending just a few minutes on the promenade deck reminded him of the Cochrane and of Alex, and he just didn't need that. He needed to work. So he headed for the transporters. Time to check out this new StratOps center on Spectre. He just hoped that they followed all of his directions in the construction.   When he transported back over he thought it probably be a good idea to check in with the CO. Let him know that he was still there. He didn't want Remae to think of Tahl as a babysitter. They were, after all, at open warfare, Tahl believed that every ship needed a StratOps officer. There just weren't that many to go around.   As he stepped off the turbo lift he saw Counselor Lronen and Doctor Williams. He made his way over to them.   "Gentlemen," he nodded, "and how were your breaks?"   (Reply Lronen, Williams)   "Doctor, how's the new sickbay? Did they ever get rid of that smell, and rethink the route of the waste disposal system?" Tahl had to fight back a smile, as he remembered the sickbay, with waste disposal floating around as the system had purged itself.   (Reply Williams, Lronnen) (Posted by Al Muir) (USS Spectre, Transporter Room 3 – First Officer T’Vhor - 1430) Regardless of how many times T’Vhor had actually undergone transport, transporter technology was one of those things that had never ceased to amaze him as he quickly materialized upon the beam platform in the USS Spectre’s transporter room. Only seconds beforehand, he had watched the operator on Geneva phase out of view, his molecules duly dissassembled, quantum scanned & then shunted to the pattern buffer for beamout in a matter of microseconds. As nothing but a matter stream within an annular confinement beam, T’Vhor had often wondered wether thought processes even registered in the short time it took for the subject to reach it’s destination, it was a futile exercise of course for already he was there before the thought had even entered his head. Strange the things you think of when you have a second or two to spare.. Stepping down from the raised platform of the transporter pad however, T’Vhor looked to the transporter chief as he diligently worked his board. The man raised his head only briefly to welcome him. "Welcome aboard sir", said the chief as T’Vhor stepped towards him. "Thank you chief", said T’Vhor. "Your ordered to report to the CO for briefing sir", said the transporter chief as he finalised the shutdown routine of the transporter & confirmed the logging of transport to the Spectres computer core. T’Vhor adjusted his shoulder bag on his right shoulder & then he headed out through the doors. (USS Spectre, Turbolift 2 – First Officer T’Vhor – 1435) "Bridge please", said T’Vhor as the doors slid shut to initiate the turbolifts upwards accent. For a moment or two T’Vhor closed his eyes & thought of Krysta, her smiling face & her ever appreciative manner as clear in his mind as when he had last layed eyes upon her a long time since. How he missed her so, she would have been proud of him now of that he was most assured. No sooner had he closed his eyes though, the turbolift had arrived at the top of it’s tube, it’s doors whistling open to frame the vista of the Spectres impressive bridge. T’Vhor smiled an uncharacteristic smile as it suddenly dawned upon him the reason for the shortness of his journey in the turbolift. The Spectre of course was only fifteen decks whereas his old ship was a seventy deck behemoth. Putting his thoughts aside however, T’Vhor stepped out & onto the bridge. A few of the crewmen turned their attentions towards him as he walked forwards, then they returned to their duties as he headed off to the Captains ready room as ordered. Once outside, he pressed the door chime & waited for the signal to enter from his new CO. He had heard a lot about Captain Remae K’Tell, indeed he had taken the time to quickly read up on his starfleet career before he had left Geneva. Better to be prepared than not, he had thought. The Captains life was something of an anomoly for sure, some considered him a maverick but as a Bajoran, T’Vhor felt he would be able to relate to the man for he had thought alongside them often enough during his time as a young resistance fighter during the Cardassian incursions of Bajor. In an instance however, T’Vhor’s thought’s were broken by the opening of the door before him. He took a deep breath & then he walked in to be confronted with the man himself seated at his desk, his head buried in some report or another. T’Vhor stood to attention & looked directly ahead. “Lt T’Vhor reporting for duty sir”, said T’Vhor as the Captain slowly looked upwards to acknowledge him. (Reply CO) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Ready Room - CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 1445) "Lt T'Vhor reporting for duty sir,” said the new arrival whom Remae recognised at once from his biography. The Bajoran looked up at the new First Officer of the Spectre and gave him a quick once over. "At ease Lieutenant,” said Remae and indicated that the FO could take a seat on the chair or the old, still fluff-expending couch that sat on the back wall closest to his desk, despite efforts to get it removed, he had resisted all attempts to even get it fixed. "Before we get started, you should know that your promotion came through and I was asked to pass it on, congratulations Lieutenant (SG) T'Vhor,” said Remae extending his hand and the PADD with the new codes for the replicator, they would produce the correct pips and the new red command uniform for the First Officer to wear. "We'll have time to talk in depth later, Lieutenant but for right now, I need you to assemble the crew of the ship and introduce yourself to each of the Senior Officers, as of right now, they all report to you a few times a day. I have to say is a relief because I've been running the ship as CO and FO for several months now." Remae quickly made mention of a few of the past First Officers of the Spectre, without exception, they had all been female. (Reply from T'Vhor) "We have new mission orders from the Admiral and I will hold a mission briefing to discuss them at 0700 tomorrow, could you arrange a meeting for all senior officers, I want a 0900 departure from Geneva as well." (Reply from T'Vhor) "I am afraid the Admiral has secured the orders from being discussed with anyone prior to our departure and I can't discuss them, I am sorry,” said Remae apologetically and sincerely. (Reply from T'Vhor) "Let's have dinner tonight, 20.00 and you can tell me about the Paladin and what Captain Straton is up-to these days. Dismissed,” said Remae returning to his computer terminal. (Reply from T'Vhor) Of course before that Remae had a meeting with the Counsellor. of course, there was a chance that the Borg would attack Geneva and get him out of the meeting. probably too much wishful thinking and it might just happen and Remae resigned himself to the fact that the meeting would go ahead this time, finally. (Reply from T'Vhor, Lronen, Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Spectre, Ready Room - First Officer T’Vhor - 1445) Lt T’Vhor remained looking directly ahead as Captain Ktell looked upwards in responce to his reporting in. "At ease Lieutenant,” said the CO as he bade T’Vhor to take a seat. He had actually indicated a choice of two, the one imediately before his desk & a rather ragged looking couch that sat back against the wall. T’Vhor glanced to the couch & then back to the Captain & took the seat opposite him. It wasn’t that the couch looked uncomfortable it was simply because he wanted to address the Captain directly rather than from a distance. "Before we get started, you should know that your promotion came through and I was asked to pass it on, congratulations Lieutenant (SG) T'Vhor,” said Ktell as he passed over a PADD towards him. "Thank you sir", said T’Vhor as he took the offered PADD containing the various access codes he would soon be needing in his duties as FO. "We'll have time to talk in depth later Lieutenant but for now, I need you to assemble the crew of the ship and introduce yourself to each of the Senior Officers", said the Captain. "As of right now, they all report to you a few times a day, I have to say it is a relief because I've been running the ship as CO and FO for several months now,” he added whilst then going on to mention the prior FO’s that had served under his command & why they had each left. "I assure you, I will endeavour to last a little longer than your previous first officers sir", said T’Vhor, his face a typical mask of Vulcan nonexpression as he spoke. The CO paused briefly as he contemplated the First Officers words, then he continued on. "We have new mission orders from the Admiral and I will hold a mission briefing to discuss them at 07:00 tomorrow", Said the Captain, "could you arrange a meeting for all senior officers, I want a 09:00 departure from Geneva as well", he added. "I’ll see to it right away sir", said T’Vhor, "may I ask what our new orders are sir", he added. "I am afraid the Admiral has secured the orders from being discussed with anyone prior to our departure and I can't discuss them, I am sorry", said the Captain. "Understood sir", said T’Vhor. "Let's have dinner tonight, 20.00 and you can tell me about the Paladin and what Captain Straton is up-to these days. Dismissed,” said the Captain as he promptly returned his attention to the terminal before him. "Dinner would be good sir, 20:00 hours as requested", said T’Vhor as he turned about & headed for the door & the tasks assigned him. (Reply None) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Bridge - First Officer T’Vhor - 1510) The journey back to the bridge had been just as quick as it had been the time before. ~This will certainly take some getting used to~ Turbolifts were fast but traversing only fifteen decks made the Spectre’s seem even faster still. It seemed that T’Vhor had only just settled into his quarters & got into his change of uniform when he was once again exiting the turbolift & walking onto the bridge. Once there however, he noticed that there were a few engineers making last minute adjustments to various upgrades that had recently been installed during the ships refit at the Phoenix shipyards. Other crewmen were simply engaged in the normal everyday runnings of a starship, some were monitoring comms traffic & liasing with Geneva command whilst others were seated at the various consoles & apparently taking a well earned break from whatever their last mission had heaped upon them. One or two stood at attention as T’Vhor walked from the turbolift but he imediately raised his hand in responce. "At ease", said T’Vhor as he walked towards the centre chair to imediately take a seat within it. Once there he accessed the comms from the chairs left armrest to announce a shipwide general communication. "Bridge to all senior crew, this is the First Officer, there will be a formality & pre-briefing meeting in the conference room at 15:40 today, bridge out", said T’Vhor. He then stood to walk towards the unmanned tactical console to oversee the ships security status whilst the other crewmembers carried on in their duties around him. As expected after their refit, they of course had a full compliment of quantum & photon torpedoes in their respective storage areas. The addition of an as yet unrecognised quota in the armoury however had caught T’Vhors eye & he quickly accessed the relevant data on the entry. Once he had brought up the required data, he knew of course that he was looking at the experimental flux cannon. The Paladin had lacked this particular armament of course, but it would be interesting to see it’s effects in action later thought T’Vhor. "Computer, show me the quiescent state of the photon flux cannon please", said T’Vhor. [The photon flux cannon is in a fixed state of charge, it is currently offline & untied to the primary phaser array. Would you like to run diagnostics?] "No, that will not be neccesary", said T’Vhor as he walked from the console to head off towards the conference room in readiness for the planned meeting. He was looking forwards to meeting the crew now & giving them a preliminary briefing before the CO gave his main one the following morning. Walking from the bridge though, he turned just before leaving to look back onto it. ~Yes, this is going to be an interesting ship~ He then continued on to the conference room. (Reply Any, None) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Security Station Alpha – TAC/SC Pierce Orde - 1520) Pierce looked up from his work at the sound of a dull beep: the signal that someone sent a message to all senior staff. Playing it, he quirked an eyebrow up at the meeting time. ~1540. How Vulcan! I think I can finish this up before then and get down there.~ He had been ferreting out a few quirks in the security subsystems of the main computer from his station in SSA – one of the refit engineers had reloaded several protocols minus the updates that Pierce had put together. The issues were mostly in the authentication routines. (USS Spectre, Conference Room - First Officer T’Vhor - 1530) On his entry to the conference room, T’Vhor noticed that the lights had been dimmed all the way down almost to nothing. The lights of the Geneva station clearly visible & shining now through the observation windows however, seemed to give the room an almost eerie quality that reminded him of someplace he couldn’t quite put his finger on. "Computer, raise the lighting to a more acceptable level please", said T’Vhor laying the PADD he’d carried with him upon the large wooden table in the room as he spoke. Immediately the lighting came up as required & T’Vhor then walked towards one of the observation windows to gaze out & onto Geneva. There were still only a few ships in evidence in the vicinity & docked, it still looked almost devoid of its normal comings & goings of traffic. Obviously there had been developments that none of them had been aware of during their various missions in deep space, that much was now certain. It was however a calming vista to gaze upon whilst he quietly awaited the arrival of the first of the senior crew. (Reply None) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Conference Room - COUNS, Divon Lronen - 1535)   Divon quietly walked into the conference room and looked around. Most of the officers were still there. He still carried with him a PADD. In truth, Divon had only been on the ship for a few hours and he was already in the realm of 'crazybusy'. Divon had hoped that most of the crew would find the stay on Geneva restful enough that they wouldn't need him for a little while. However, Divon hadn't planned on the issues that took place while they were on Starbase Geneva.   During their stay on Geneva, the 'Cold War' had turned into a hot war. As of stardate 2407.01.04 Doenitz had stepped things up finally and attacked. LoDona pledged to free the Federation. Now they had to watch their backs. Now they were at war. This caused a great deal of difficulty among all starfleet officers and crew. Some members of the Spectre's own crew had loved ones and family members on the other side of the conflict. In some cases, some were nervous about the safety of their family on their home planets. Others were worried about the consequences that war brought, that war always brings. A few were even concerned that they might be on the wrong side of the conflict.   Divon looked at the senior officers seated around the table and nodded to them. He then quietly sat down, content to rework his schedule until the meeting started.   (Reply any, none) (Posted by Jeff) (USS Spectre, Conference Room – TAC/SC Lt. Cmdr Pierce Orde – 1537) Entering the conference almost brought a flashback of the meetings he had endured on Geneva, but he willed it away. Instead, he spotted the new First Officer and sat down near him. “Good evening, sir – I do not believe that we have met yet. Pierce Orde, Tactical and Security Chief.” (Reply T’Vhor) (Posted by Lenox) (USS Spectre - Conference Room, First Officer T’Vhor - 1537) The FO had still been gazing out into space when the first of the senior crew had begun to arrive. First through the door had been the counsellor, a Betazoid who looked as though he’d rather be anywhere else other than here now as he nodded briefly & then took a seat at the table. In truth, T’Vhor sensed this in more or less all of them as they arrived. It was to be expected of course, they had just spent time on Geneva enjoying a little R&R whilst the Spectre had undergone its refit & whilst they were of course eager to get back into the swing of things, meetings were not usually the most exciting of things to be attending. The second officer to arrive however wore a uniform he was certainly familiar with for this was the security & tactical chief, a position he himself had held whilst serving on board the Paladin. "Good evening, sir – I do not believe that we have met yet. Pierce Orde, Tactical and Security Chief,” said the chief. "I believe you are correct", said T’Vhor extending a hand towards him in customary Human greeting. "T’Vhor, the new First Officer", he added. (Reply Orde) "I was transferred over from the Paladin at very short notice", said T’Vhor, "the order came through somewhat unexpectedly to say the very least", he added whilst glancing around at a few other officers as they walked through the door to take a seat at the table. He then turned his attention to the security chief once again. "Please take a seat", said T’Vhor as he in turn walked around to the front of the table. (USS Spectre, Conference Room - CMO Williams - 1538) Andrew entered the Conference room and found that it was nearly full. He quickly found set and saw a "First things first, my name is T’Vhor, I am your new First officer", said T’Vhor. ~Well that explains who he is. That’s good.~ "The Captain has asked me to introduce myself to you all so in the course of this short briefing, I am doing just that", he added. "I will however keep this as brief as I can as I am sure that you all have more important things to get back to", he added whilst looking from one officer to another in turn. ~That's true not tested the EMH yet or the checks on the surgical theatre.~ "As you all know, our new mission orders have now arrived, we will be leaving Geneva tomorrow morning 09:00 hrs precisely, Captain Ktell will be giving an in depth briefing at 07:00 hrs, I trust I do not have to stress everyone’s attendance at this briefing", said T’Vhor. Andrew nodded as he met T'Vor's eye. "I am not currently aware of the exact mission details as it is still classified at this time", said T’Vhor, "I however will need operational reports from all stations before we leave Geneva, any problems or anomalies with either equipment or crew, I want to know about it", said T’Vhor. Andrew thought about the Sickbay and the supplies and crew that were working there. ~Don't think I can find anything wrong at the moment~ He realised that T'Vor was still speaking. "Questions?" he said indicating that the meeting was now drawing to a close. Andrew shook his head again. "Very well, we will all meet again tomorrow at 07:00hrs, dismissed", said T’Vhor He stood up. ~That looks like us. Better get back to Sickbay and try the new EMH I've been told that it can be calibrated to give the appearance of any known species that I want. Could have some fun with this~ He headed off to sickbay. (Reply any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre, Conference Room – CEO, Ensign H’Chir – 1539) H’Chir slid into the conference room, hoping he’d made it just in time. A personal project had kept him engrossed to the point where he’s almost missed the meeting altogether. Still, that particular project was nearing a breakthrough, he could tell, and he’d hopefully have something worthwhile to show the captain. ~Let’s get this over with!~ Taking his seat, H’Chir surveyed the assembled officers and waited for the meeting to begin. (Reply any) (Posted by Michael Drake) (USS Spectre, Conference Room - First Officer T’Vhor - 1540) Once everyone had arrived & seated themselves, the First Officer opened the meeting & began to address the senior officers collectively. (Reply Orde) "I was only made aware of this myself whilst running an armaments check on the bridge this afternoon", said T’Vhor, "it was fitted during our refit but it is something you might need to familiarise yourself with", he added. (Reply Orde, IYW) T’Vhor then turned to face the other officers seated at the table. "Questions?" he said indicating that the meeting was now drawing to a close. (Reply Any) "Very well, we will all meet again tomorrow at 07:00hrs, dismissed", said T’Vhor as the assembled officers stood & then began filing out through the door & onto their subsequent duties. (Reply, Orde, Any) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Spectre, Conference Room - Lt. JG Banowsky - 1600)   Will listened during the meeting and paid very close attention during the entire meeting. He didn't add much, because the new FO did a pretty good job of covering everything, that and he didn't have much to say. Finally the FO finished the meeting. "Very well, we will all meet again tomorrow at 07:00hrs, dismissed", said T’Vhor as the assembled officers stood & then began filing out through the door & onto their subsequent duties. When the rest of the officers left the room, Will stayed behind a little bit and waited til everyone was clear. He then approached the new first officer.   "Sir," Will said as he extended his hand, "Let me introduce myself, the name is Lt. Junior Grade Will Banowsky, I'm the Chief Conning, Operations and Second Officer."   (Reply T'Vhor)   "Anyways sir, I just wanted to introduce myself, and just let me know if myself or my staff can do anything."   (Reply T'Vhor)   Will then headed towards the door. "Sir, I'm heading towards engineering and then the Strategic Operations center, would you like a tour?"   (Reply T'Vhor) (Posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre - Conference Room - First Officer T’Vhor - 16.00) Once everyone else had left the briefing, the FO turned to see that his 20 still remained in the room. "Lt?” said T’Vhor quizically. "Sir, let me introduce myself, the name is Lt. Junior Grade Will Banowsky, I'm the Chief Conning, Operations and Second Officer,” said the man extending his hand to greet him. T’Vhor took the mans hand & shook it in order to reciprocate the greeting. "Good to meet you Will", said T’Vhor, "you don’t mind if I call you Will do you Lieutenant?” he added. (Reply Banowsky) "Some officers prefer to be addressed by rank", said T’Vhor, "I myself like to be on first name terms with the senior staff as often as is possible", he added. "I believe it makes for a better working relationship", said T’Vhor, his face just as expressionless as it had been almost the entire briefing. The second officer however had clearly lightened up at the first officers casual demeanor. As a new officer on board a relatively close knit crew used to working together, T’Vhor knew there would be ice to be broken & now was as good a time as any to establish a rapor with his officers. "Anyways sir", said Banowsky, "I just wanted to introduce myself, just let me know if myself or my staff can do anything,” he added. "Thank you Lieutenant", said T’Vhor, "the Spectre is a lot smaller ship than I am used to", he added, "but I’m sure I will find my way around soon enough" "Sir, I'm heading towards engineering and then the Strategic Operations center, would you like a tour?” said Banowsky. T’Vhor siezed the opertunity imediately of course & reached for the PADD on the desk. "I would like that very much Will", said T’Vhor as he followed the man out through the door & into the coridoor. (USS Spectre, Conference Room - Lt. JG Will Banowsky - 1600) "Good to meet you Will", said T’Vhor, "you don’t mind if I call you Will do you Lieutenant?” he added. "You can call me Will, I'm pretty casual, so I don't really mind." Will replied. "Some officers prefer to be addressed by rank", said T’Vhor, "I myself like to be on first name terms with the senior staff as often as is possible", he added. (Reply Banowsky) "I have read the ships logs on the event briefly but it’s better hearing it from those actually involved", said T’Vhor. (Reply Banowsky) "I was involved in a similar event whilst serving in the Bajoran resistance a long time ago now", said T’Vhor, "A research vessel had come under attack from a Cardassian Galor & was illegally requisitioned by its commander Gul Lakot", he added. "As I was saying", said the FO, "we entered the nebula just as blind as the captured research vessel, then we boarded the ship with a team of resistance fighters & Klingon security officers drafted in from the nearby planet of Chorosh", said T’Vhor. "Needless to say, we took the ship back with her crew intact, the mission was a success", said T’Vhor. "Although not every mission I engaged upon was as much of a success of course", he added appearing then to think back on past events. Will said, remebering that unfortunate event. "I have read the ships logs on the event briefly but it’s better hearing it from those actually involved", said T’Vhor. "Well, it's weird, we ended up in another ship, another body, and just some of the corruption and genius of the infiltrators. The devices used, the hacking of our medical files, the preciseness the timing. Honestly, it's given me nightmares. It's just one of those experiences you want to forget, it was succesful, but it was just like a dream ya know. It's weird, and I could probably write a book on it, but as of right now, I don't want to remember, ya know what I mean?" T’Vhor raised an eyebrow at the remark. "Sweet?" he said, "define sweet" (Reply Banowsky) "I see", said T’Vhor, his Vulcan logic failing to see the relevance of the word as was usual. ~I will never understand Human terminology~ "Would you like to see the phase cloak T'Vhor? "Of course", said T’Vhor, "I have studied the cloak technology to an extent although I have yet to see the device up close, or serve on any vessel so equipped", he added, just as the Engineering chief appeared in the room.
