What he did not liked however was the fact he was not able to get his quarters before meeting the CO. For sure Fhi'dor would not be welcome on the bridge....Tho'var was forced to ask a petty officer to take care of his dog for the time he was meeting with the CO.  The ship was impressive. He had the time to read about it and the USS Rosenante was definitely a very special kind of ship. There were so many new technologies to learn....it almost felt like he was starting from the beginning. But that was a nice challenge. Such ship was gonna be in front of the line.  The turbolift stopped. In front of him, he could see all the bridge officer who seemed very busy. In the view screen, the freighter Tho'var just approached was zoomed. The officers seemed to be quite busy analyzing the ship. Tho'var did not wanted to distract them and walked silently to the captain's ready room.  At the door, he pressed the button to alert the CO of his presence and waited the order to come in. (Reply Salid) Tho'var entered.  "Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras reporting for duty sir."  (Reply Salid) Tho'var presented the assignment the admiralty gave him. He would have thought the admiralty would have informed him of any new officer assigned to his ship, but perhaps the USS Rosenante was so busy with its actual mission that they did not had the time to really talk with admiralty about it. He just hoped he did not arrived at a bad time.  Tho'var stood still, waiting for the captain to read it.  (Reply Salid) (Posted by Nick) (Uss Rosenante - Operations Center - Lieutenant Commander Steven Matrix Day 1 -0947) " Commander Matrix I put you in charge of checking the systems of the Lalo. See if you can find any clue as to what the heck it was up to. Most importantly I would like you to assist security with detecting and neutralizing any bobby traps. Any questions or thoughts Steve?" Tom asked his old friend. "You got it Tom...I think we can do a sensor sweep prior to entering. We should be able to detect anything of concern. I'd like no one to enter until my team can sweep the area, the includes the security personnel. If we're walking into anything I want to be the first in to uncover anything. Okay with you?" asked Matrix (Reply Jackson) "Agreed..." Matrix turned and addressed this engineering team. "Team one with me." (Reply Jackson, any) (Posted by Steve) (USS Rosenante - Main Engineering - Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras - 1041) As the mission was already underway when Tho'var was assigned to the USS Rosenante, it was decided that it was better he was integrated slowly into the hour-per-hour task. In short, he wouldn't be assuming his function of assistant chief engineer right away and would rather watch and try to catch up with what has been done while the actual acting assistant chief engineer continued to take care of main engineering.  Looking around, the ship design was quite particular. He was not used to those kind of colors and materials in main engineering. Neither the normal whitish tone of the duranium nor the orangish color tone of the tritanium were predominant on the Rosenante, as most of the hull was not made of those alloys, but rather a special alloy made of Terminium and Tritilium. It was also strange for Tho'var to have ordered "deck 7". On any other starship, someone would have said deck 14 or 20 if he had wanted to go to main engineering. Apparently, the fact the ship 'disc' was thinner (3 decks high rather than the normal 5 to 6 decks) and more space-dynamic, and the middle section bigger than conventional ships made it quite easier to recover the ship own radiation and gas emissions, therefore considerably decreasing the chance for other ships to detect those variation and extrapolate the presence of the Rosenante. In fact, Tho'var even had the weird feeling he was going to sickbay as on his previous ship, sickbay was on deck 7.  Tho'var took a look around and didn't saw the acting assistant engineer. He also went to his office but wasn't there either. Tho'var decided to ask.  "Sorry..... chief I was suppose to meet with..."  "Oh yes... So you are the new assistant engineer.....sir? Yeah, he is working lieutenant Steven Wade Matrix ordered him to do. He will be back soon, sir." the CPO said.  "Ah.....I see......well.....thanks."  replied Tho'var.  There wasn't much to do but wait for the acting assistant chief to come back.  (Reply, anyone who want to jump in) (Posted by Nick) (SS Lalo - Near Engineering  - Lt Tom Jackson 1102) Jackson and Dr. Casey were reviewing what the doctor had found. The 2 men were discussing what the doctor had found  when the call from the Rose came in over Jackson's comm badge . It was his old friend Ben Soma. =^= Soma to Jackson." He said. "Have you found anything yet? =^= " Yes, cmCommander we have. Doctor Casey and I are near engineering. The doctor has located signs of a cargo hold which appears to be an arms cache. " Yes we have. Lieutenant Trei and his team are working from the bridge back toward our location. He should be updating me shortly with anything his team has found" Tom added. Ben reminded him to keep him updated. Tom smiled and added " will do Ben. Jackson out" he closed the link. Tipping his  comm badge a  second time he asked  Trei" Trei this is Tom Jackson find anything?" (Reply: Boudicca Team) (Posted by: Bill West) (USS Rosenante -Bridge - FO- Lt. There are some outdated romulan disruptors And an unidentified as yet mineral. =/\= Tom replied. Why would the Lalo be carrying Romulan weapons? This added to the current mystery as did the unidentified mineral. Ben needed answers about both. "See if you can find any records regarding the cache." Ben said. "Take a scan of the mineral and transmit it to Maddox, he can study it in detail and possibly identify it along with it's likely origin." (reply Jackson iyw) After he had finished speaking with Tom he opened a comm line to Maddox to give him a heads up. "Soma to Maddox." Ben said. "Lieutenant Jackson will be sending you a scan momentarily. I want you to identify the substance and give me a list of possible sources for this sector. It's likely the Lalo picked it up here and could have been attacked for it." (reply Maddox) (posted by Milo Young) (USS Rosenante – Science Lab 3 – Science Officer – Ensign (JG) Andrew Maddox – 1109) =^= Soma to Maddox, Lieutenant Jackson will be sending you a scan momentarily. I want you to identify the substance and give me a list of possible sources for this sector. It's likely the Lalo picked it up here and could have been attacked for it. =^= Andrew heard the new First Officer’s voice over the intercom. ~He’s not new Andrew, he’s your current First Officer, and has been for quite some time.~ He told himself. “Aye sir,” Maddox looked at the information that was being sent to him. “The sample has ferrous oxide, kelbomite and fistrium deposits. All common metals with numerous uses, but the predominate feature is between forty and fifty percent trilithium ore. I know I don’t have to tell you the importance of that sir.  With the details Lieutenant Jackson is supplying me I can’t give you an exact match.  I can narrow it down to….” There was a pause while the computer ran the possibilities, “Six all in this sector.” Andrew knew that with Commander Soma’s background in tactical and security, he would know that two more ingredients were needed to make a trilithium explosive device. (Reply Lt Com Soma) “I understand sir, what I need is the mineral sample here in the lab, I can do a spectral analysis and give you a more exact match with-in the hour.” Andrew reported. (Reply Lt Com Soma) “More exact meaning that I can probably narrow it down to what mine shaft it came from, provided that the shaft is registered, barring that I can narrow it down to the planet, per the last geological survey.” Maddox said. (Reply Lt Com Soma) “Understood sir, I’ll be waiting on the sample.  If you could arrange to have it sent up in a sample container, that will increase my accuracy by twelve percent.” He informed him. (Reply Lt Com Soma) “Standing by.” He answered simply. (Reply Lt Com Soma, any) (Posted by Todd) (USS Rosenante – Bridge – FO – Lt. The fact that the sample contained forty to fifty percent was troubling, it wouldn't take much effort to refine that ore and combine the trilithium ore with two other compounds to create a trilithium explosive. Such explosives were quite dangerous and very destructive, it could even be used to destroy a solar system if some one were to target the systems star. "At least you've narrowed a very large search area Mr. Maddox." Ben responded. "That will increase our odds of finding the source. If it is someones intention to create a trilithium explosive we have to find out the intended use." “I understand sir, what I need is the mineral sample here in the lab, I can do a spectral analysis and give you a more exact match with-in the hour.” Andrew reported.   More exact, Ben wondered how exact. "By more exact what exactly d you mean?" Ben inquired.   “More exact meaning that I can probably narrow it down to what mine shaft it came from, provided that the shaft is registered, barring that I can narrow it down to the planet, per the last geological survey.” Maddox said.   That information would prove invaluable, they wouldn't have to take weeks or possibly months searching. If Maddox wanted that sample Ben would get it for him. "I'll have Lieutenant Jackson beam the sample directly to your lab." Ben replied.   “Understood sir, I’ll be waiting on the sample.  If you could arrange to have it sent up in a sample container, that will increase my accuracy by twelve percent.” He informed him.   "I'll have a container beamed to Jackson's location." Ben said. "He can prepare the sample and send it to you."   “Standing by.” He answered simply. Ben closed the line and opened one to engineering, they would have appropriate containers readily available. "Soma to engineering." He said. (reply any in engineering) "Have a sample container sent to transporter room two." Ben stated. "Have it beamed over to Lieutenant Jackson." (reply any in engineering) "The sample contains high concentrations of trilithium." Ben said. "Take what ever precautions you deem appropriate." (reply any in engineering) Once that had been taken care of Ben opened a channel to Tom. "Soma to Jackson." He said and after Tom responded Ben continued. "Your about to receive a sample container, Ensign Maddox requires a sample of the ore." (reply Jackson) "He's found a high concentration of trilithium in your scans." Ben explained. "With the sample he's confident he can narrow the source down to a single planet." (reply Jackson) "Once you have the sample ready beam it directly to Ensign Maddox." Ben instructed. (reply as above) (posted by Milo Young) (SS Lalo - Bridge Level Room 006C – Ensign (JG) Harvey Armstrong – 1113)   Harvey followed the team through the hatchways immediately near the Bridge of the Lalo.  They were what was to be expected.  One after the other was empty and served as a ‘Ready Room/Office’ for the captain.  The Captain’s quarters and across from that a Conference room of sorts that smelled of old tobacco from a pipe and had no visible intelligence anywhere on any surface.  The computers in all of the rooms were completely erased.  Even when Harvey tried to find erased data it seemed extra precautions had been taken to insure that the data was cleared.    Harvey continued to lead the group to a fourth hatchway further down the corridor near a turbo lift.  This room was different.  As the team entered and cleared the room it was obvious that this space was a Chemists dream.  It instantly reminded Armstrong of the lab on Color II.  There was no Teravere present but there were trace chemicals and some work had been done recently.  Some experiments were still ongoing, but no chemists.  “I think we have something here.   The chemicals present here are the catalyst agents for the preparation of Trilithium Explosive Devices.  There is also the presence of the solids required for the same compounds.  This is a bomb making facility.”  Harvey tensed and ran continual passive scans.  He hoped that his comm badge would not trigger any booby traps.  “I recommend that we make immediate communications of our findings.  Rather than use his comm badge he used a burst transmission from his scientific gear to both ships.  “[From Boudicca Away Team, located chemical reagents in a bomb making facility/lab on the bridge level room 006C.  Recommend extreme caution and immediate Ordinance Investigation Team at this location.]”     (ENS(jg) Harvey Armstrong) (SS LALO –Cargo Hold  – COPS – Day 1 - Lt. "Your about to receive a sample container,Ensign Maddox requires a sample of the ore.=^= "Understood Commander I've sent coordinates to the Rose. How big a sample does the Ensign require Sir" Tom asked. (Reply: Soma) (Posted by: Bill West) (USS Boudicca - Transporter Room - CO Captain Calvin Capps - 1115) The Captain's molecules reassembled onto the transport pad. He stepped down from it to be greeted by the woman behind the transport console. "Welcome back Captain." "Thank you Chief," he responded stopping momentarily to look at the crewman. Turning toward the door he stepped into the corridor to make his way to the nearest turbolift. As he walked through the familiar halls he compared their size and shape to the Rosenante's. Calvin had been on many different ships all varying in interior design. The Boudicca being such a unique ship defiantly had the 'different' feeling. Never the less it still resembled a Starfleet corridor and that was good enough for its Captain. (posted by Calvin Capps) (SS Lalo - COPS - Lt. Tom Jackson - Day 1 - 1116) Tom and the doctor scanned the data. Tom tapped his comm badge and rransmiitted " Jackson to Maddox. The readings from the mineral scan are on their way " Tom paused and looked at Casey who needed yes. Jackson re-tapped his comm badge Jackson to Team Boudicca. We are moving toward you. Anything for us?" Jackson asked. (Reply: Team Boudicca ) Tom listened as they described parts of a weird mechanism. Something was nagging at the back if his mind. Jackson, as the senior officer present, made a decision. "Boudicca Team we will be there in about ten minutes. Hold in place.  Throughly explore the immeadiately area. But be careful understood?" Jackson ordered. ( Reply: Team Boudicca) ( Reply: Any) (Posted by: Bill West) (USS Rosenante, Main Engineering – AssCEO Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras – 1117)  Tho'var was still waiting for the acting assistant chief engineer to complete his task. However, it was understandable that completing it had priority over having some talks with the new assistant chief engineer and Tho'var had no problem to wait.  As he was waiting, a communication came from the bridge. It was the FO.  =/\= Soma to engineering. =/\= the FO said. Tho'var waited for the acting AssCEO to answer but he didn't. Looking around, a few engineering looked at him as if they were expecting him to answer the call. Tho'var hesitated but as no one were answering, maybe he should be taking the call.  " Tho'var here." he replied. =/\= Have a sample container sent to transporter room two." ordered the FO. "Have it beamed over to Lieutenant Jackson. =/\= Tho'var took a few seconds to think. He looked over the USS Rosenante roster many time, but truth is, right now, he had no memory of who was Lieutenant Jackson. Tho'var could felt the stress rose. He was an experienced officer, but apparently, being new to a ship was always something stressful. Also, he couldn't tell the FO he did not knew who Lieutenant Jackson was. In fact, he could just ask another engineer, for sure they knew who he was. After a few seconds of deliberation - that was certainly noticed by the FO - Tho'var finally answered. "No problem sir. However, there are several type of containers. What is it for?" he asked.   =/\= The sample contains high concentrations of trilithium." the FO replied. "Take what ever precautions you deem appropriate. =/\= ~ Trilithium? I wonder what are they doing with that. ~ "Yes, sir." he replied. The FO ended the communication.  Tho'var was still curious about the reason for the trilithium. It was know for being highly dangerous when unstable.... instability that could even be enhanced artificially if purposely radiated. If combined with some others compounds, it could made quite an explosive. The fact it was to be sent to Lieutenant Jackson, who was probably on the SS Lalo, was even more intriguing. That meant the trilithium was probably found there. Why would a Federation transport ship having trilithium. Anyway, the container was probably to investigate it. Certainly, they had it all under control, and all he needed to do is complete his task.  Tho'var looked over the classification directives. Such type of containers could be find in cargo bay 3. Before going underway, he looked around to see who was the most highly ranked officer. A master chief petty officer was not far.  "Sorry master chief. " said Tho'var to get his attention.  "What may I do for you, sir?" "I have been given a task by the first officer. If the acting AssCEO come to meet me, tell him I will be back in about 15 minutes. But I should be back before he arrives, so it is just in case." said Tho'var. "No problem sir." the Master Chief said.  (POsted by Nick) (USS Rosenante –Bridge  – FO– Lt. Cmdr Ben Soma - Day 1 –1118) =/\=Understood Commander I've sent coordinates to the Rose. How big a sample does the Ensign require Sir=/\= Tom asked. "Ensign Maddox didn't specify." Ben stated. "See what you can find in the hold, gather enough for a decent analysis." Then Ben thought that Maddox may have a specific quantity in mind. "Contact Maddox to see if he has a specific mass he requires for his analysis." (reply Jackson iyw) He then moved to the Tactical station where Sanok was, his friend had the same training in SEC/TAC as he did so he would be just as concerned about the trilithium. "Run a search on the mining facilities in this and neighboring sectors." Ben said. "Let's see if there are any other ingredients for a trilithium explosive out there." (reply Sanok) "I don't like it." Ben stated." Mystery ship, one of three components for a trilithium explosive in the hold. It may be why the Lalo went missing."   (reply Sanok) Ben's gut was beginning to tell him this wasn't a good situation, it was bad enough they found the Lalo adrift but finding trilithium ore of a high grade in it's hold was troubling. (reply as above, any) (posted by Milo Young) (USS Rosenante, Bridge, Security Station, 2O, CSec Lt. Sanok, Day 1, 1120) Sanok had been silently monitoring the Rosenante away team on the Lalo. Signos and Turner were the security personnel watching the team, and Sanok had trust issues with both of them. He still felt Signos, because of her S31 altered state, should be put off the ship and turned over to Starfleet Command. What if she was to snap and the secret personality took over the Signos body? Though Sanok knew he could bring her down, and he would do it, the assassin could be a dangerous adversary. It had been Captain Salid's decision to keep her on board, and though it was not agreeable to him, Sanok respected and honored that decision, though he was always watching Signos. Sanok's concern for Blake Turner was a different matter. Though she had promised to do her duty, and not allow her personal feelings over her diplomat relative being held captive by the Veil to interfere, she had indeed failed in her duties, leaving her post, endangering herself and others, and not leaving anyone behind in her place. She had been disciplined, but she also needed to show she could be trusted again. Had Salid not wanted him and Ben to remain on the bridge, Sanok would be on the Lalo now. "Run a search on the mining facilities in this and neighboring sectors." While Sanok had been concentrating on the security matters, he had not seen or heard Ben approach him at the security station. Displeased inwardly, he showed nothing on the outward, acting as though he knew Ben was there all along. "Let's see if there are any other ingredients for a trilithium explosive out there," said Soma. "You are sensing something about the Lalo?" said Sanok. "I don't like it," said Soma. "Mystery ship. One of three components for a trilithium explosive in the hold. It may be why the Lalo went missing." "Perhaps" Sanok did not want to openly speculate until he had more information. Ben could be right, but it was also illogical for whoever was behind this, to leave any evidence behind. There had to be much more to it all. (reply none) (posted by Bob B.) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - CO Captain Calvin Capps - 1121) Captain Capps walked on to the bridge once the turbolift doors opened. He moved straight to where the command chair sat seeing his First Officer. "Report Lieutenant Jacobs?" (reply Jacobs, any) (posted by Calvin Capps) (SS Lalo - Bridge - Security Officer Rayne Showers -1124) Rayne watched while the others worked diligently at their tasks. He currently had nothing to do. He was simply there to protect the away team should anything unforeseen should happen. The lieutenant seemed preoccupied at the captain's chair and there the others seemed to be downloading various file. All rayne could do was stand his post at the tactical station until further orders were given. He looked down at his console to see that there was an internal communication coming in to the bridge. Showers looked up in the direction of the Lieutenant and announced, "There is an incoming communication from Lieutenant Jackson of the Rosenante. I'm gonna patch it through now." He took the initiative in an attempt to prevent the others from having to stop their work. " Jackson to Team Boudicca. We are moving toward you. Anything for us?" He looked over to the others and from the conversation he had overheard, he attempted to muddle through an explanation. "Well there is talk of evidence of components of the Planet Eater. Further research is being conducted. We will keep you updated as more intel comes in." The Lieutenant on the other side of the comm seemed unaware of what he was talking about which prompted hid response for the Boudicca away team to stay put and await for the Rosenante away teams arrival. "The other away team will be making their way up here. ETA in 10 minutes." he announced to the others in the room. (Reply any. None) (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - First Officer Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 1127) Time was passing but there was no solid updates from the away team and Captain Capps had yet to return from his meeting with Captain Salid. He still had Dr. Caspian on the mind and what she said about not being so obsessed with the pursuit of the Coloran fugitives. If only they could catch up with them, then things could return to normal. The second Captain Capps crossed his mind again the man actually appeared in front of him. It was no act of magic as the captain returned from his meeting with the other captain. "Report Lieutenant Jacobs?" "Well sir, there actually isn't much to report. The away teams from both ships are on board the Lalo searching for any information available for the disappearance of its crew." Henry couldn't gage the mood of the captain. As he said the words Henry knew that he wasn't providing any more information than what had been established before the captain left. "On another note, how was the meeting with Captain Salid? You haven't been gone very long." (Reply Capps) "What is the plan from this point forward?" (Reply Capps) "There has not been much gain in this mission, do we still have the support of Starfleet?" (Reply Capps) (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Rosenante, Transporter Room 2 – AssCEO Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras – 1128)   Tho'var took a few minutes to find the container, but fortunately, the classification was pretty similar to what he was used to on his two previous assignments. Also, he now knew that Lieutenant Jackson was COO. That should have been one he remembered.....but....anyway. He brought the container to transporter room 2 as he was asked. There, an officer was waiting for him...or was waiting tout court .  "Hello officer. I am Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras. I have been asked by the first officer to send this container to Lieutenant Jackson on the SS Lalo." You haven't been gone very long," asked the first officer. "It went well enough. Captain Salid makes an excellent host and it doesn't hurt he has such a unique and eloquent ship. It took a little while to explain everything he knew about Section 31. I suggest you read up on everything you can in our database. We may encounter them during our search for the General. There is a possibility that the General may be working with Section 31." "What is the plan from this point forward?"  Calvin could clearly see now that there truly was nothing going on with the Lalo except for a few suspicious details. "It is too bad that the Lalo didn't give us clues so we could continue our serch for M'locha but maybe something will turn up yet. Have the away teams return at 1200 hours for lunch but tell them to prepare for a briefing about their findings at 1300 hours in the observation lounge." "There has not been much gain in this mission, do we still have the support of Starfleet?"  "For now, but we will need to come up with something soon. Delay your update with Command until after the briefing," the Captain said as he was thinking about the next move. "Also contact the Rosenante and update them about our away teams. Invite their crew over for lunch in ten forward if they wish. They should also be present at our briefing at 1300 in the observation lounge or via visual communication." The officer was carrying a sample container. "Hello officer. I am Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras. I have been asked by the first officer to send this container to Lieutenant Jackson on the SS Lalo." "Hello Lieutenant." Nathan said as he stepped down from behind his console to accept the container. "I'm crewman Nathan Reynolds, transporter operator and general technician." Nathan took the container and placed it on the transporter platform and returned to his console. He knew Jackson's location because he was keeping a constant lock on all the away team members in case of trouble. "Lieutenant Jackson is currently in a cargo hold on the Lalo." Nathan stated as he set coordinates for transport. "I'll pop this a couple meters in front of him." Lieutenant Kevras opened a comline to Jackson, stating he had the container ready for transport and then introduced himself. Nathan waited while they spoke and when he got the go ahead he chimed in. "Lieutenant Jackson I'm going to put the container two meters in front of you." He stated. (reply Jackson, Kevras) (posted by Milo Young) (USS Rosenante –Bridge  – FO– Lt. Cmdr Ben Soma - Day 1 –1132) Ben was once again seated in the command center of the Rosenante's bridge, the away team was still searching the Lalo and Maddox was working on the ore sample. The high concentration of trilithium in the sample was troubling, it could easily be refined and combined with other compounds to create a very high explosive. If Maddox were able to track it down to a planet they may be able to determine it's intended use. He decided it was time to bring the team home and wait for Maddox to complete his analysis before deciding their next step. "Sanok." Ben said. "Contact the away team and have them return to the ship by 1200 hours. Have a copy of their findings sent to the Boudicca. Include Ensign Maddox's findings if he has them ready by then."   (reply Sanok) He would have to send word to Command but he would wait until he had all the information he could get about the situation, the trilithium would raise more than a few eye brows and raise a couple questions. They would want to know it's intended purpose as much as he would. (posted by Milo Young) (SS Lalo - Upper Bridge Area - ENS (jg) Harvey Armstrong - 11.37)   The Lab contained number of scientific items all pointing towards the construction of Trilithium Explosives.  But the size of the various devices was small.  A low yield device certainly did not fit with the Planet Killer gear that was being reported.  Armstrong paused for a moment.  The space seemed too small for the floor plan but the wall showed that there was nothing but empty space beyond the hull to his front, it just did not compute.  Armstrong found what he was looking for, a panel in the wall which contained a series of switches.  He looked the system over.  The panel was hidden from view, disguised as an indention in the wall.  He lifted the cover and pushed the green button.  The wall slid up quickly and revealed a secondary workspace.  It had a metal workbench and lying on the bench was a vest.  The vest had four slots in it where the chest of a humanoid would fit.  Each of the slots contained an explosive device, one was left empty.  Armstrong held the others back.  “Looks like we know what they are using the explosives for, these are suicide bombing vests.  This one lacks one Trilithium device to be complete.  Look at the ordinance wiring on this.  We are going to need an engineer to work this out.”  There were several other vests hanging empty on the wall and evidence of several others which were not in the work room or anywhere else they had searched. Armstrong stepped back out of the space into the lab and reclosed the door.  “Armstrong to Boudicca, be advised we have discovered one of the uses for the Trilithium explosives, they are building suicide vests for humanoid sized individuals, there is one unfinished one located in a secret compartment located against the hull on this level.  Advise caution and request Explosive Ordinance Personnel to secure this section and evidence.  Looks like no less than five of these devices has been previously constructed but they are not here.” (posted by andy c) (USS Rosenante - Deck 7, Main Engineering lower deck - Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras - 1140)  Once the container sample had been beamed over to Lieutenant Jackson, Tho'var had been doing his homework. As he had the time, he made some additional research on trilithium and found some interesting things. Not only was it a very devastating explosive, when it was stabilized, which was not an easy achievement, but he almost forgot about one of its most well known property.... a fusion reaction inhibitor. He remembered the time back at the academy when he studied the pros and cons of having trilithium as a way to prevent a reactor breach in a cascading fusion reaction. It was proposed as an emergency solution for the planet Adeliv III which was entirely fuelled by fusion reaction, warp core being prohibited as the system was already heavily radiated by the two declining suns. He remembered getting that one right....it was not recommended precisely because the difficulty to maintain the stability of the trilithium was more important than the probability of a cascade reaction. There were much safer way to prevent such fusion reactor breaches...which was one of the reason trilithium was never really used by the Federation....the rewards were not worth the risks.    Some more researches suggested the Romulan had a much more thorough knowledge of trilithium - they were quite efficient at stabilizing it - as it was one of the particle used in their plasma torpedoes. But the information were incomplete...probably because the Romulan were not the kind to share military technology with the Federation.  For the moment, Tho'var stopped his research there. He did not knew yet if the trilithium found had any significance in the current Rosenante mission, and as he had a lot to do to be up to date with engineering... he preferred not being actually losing inefficiently his time.     Once he had returned to his normal duty, Tho'var heard by other engineers that the away team sent on the SS Lalo had been called back. That was the opportunity he was looking for to finally meet his direct superior, Lieutenant Commander Steven Wade Matrix. The best way to make sure he would meet him was to wait for him in front of his office, certainly the most logical place to expect him to go. When he finally arrived, Tho'var presented himself. "Hello sir. I am Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras, the new Assistant Chief Engineer. I wanted to meet you...but if you would prefer a better time, I can come back later." (Reply Matrix) (Posted by Nick) (USS Rosenante - Deck 7, Main Engineering lower deck - LCDR Steven Matrix- 1143) The usual PADD in hand Matrix hardly noticed the crew members gathering outside engineering, nor the new Lieutenant. He was simply too busy looking over the mission notes and department updates. "Hello sir. I am Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras, the new Assistant Chief Engineer. I wanted to meet you...but if you would prefer a better time, I can come back later." Matrix nearly walked pasted the officer and replayed what he had said. Stepping back slightly Matrix smiled and put the PADD under his left arm and turned toward the Lieutenant. "Mister Kevras...no...no...this is a perfect time. Please lets step into my office." replied Matrix. A few moments later they arrived in the darkened office of the CEO. "Computer, lights...half normal illumination." ordered Matrix. "I've gone used to working in dim light Lieutenant. The explosion on Beta Aquillia IV left me a bit shy of bright lights. I hope you don't mind?" asked Matrix. (Reply Kevras) "Please have a seat. Have you had time to meet any of my crew?" asked Matrix. (Reply Kevras) "We'll have to introduce you as soon as we get an opportunity. We have one of the finest engineering staff in the fleet. Tho'var took the seat offered and looked at the coffee his superior had just ordered....still remembering perfectly the uncomfortable sensation of the heat of the beverage on his tongue. "No thanks." he replied.  As Matrix tapped on his monitor, Tho'var could felt his thoughts as they were defiling in his consciousness. Considering how close they were, Tho'var needed an effort not to read his mind. To make it easier, he moved his chair a bit away, hoping his superior knew Aenar well enough to not believe he had a bad breath. Hopefully, his superior did not looked concerned.  "I appreciate you seeking me out. Lieutenant. Glad to have you on board. We've been rather short handed for sometime. We have one of the finest engineering staff in the fleet. Yes, I'm sure you've heard that before." said his superior with a slight smile. As Tho'var was not the most humorous person, he simply answered very calmly. "I am please to hear our department has an excellent chemistry."  "Have you been on board the SS Lalo?" asked Matrix. The question was a little surprising. Tho'var did not realized how busy his superior had been. He was nevertheless happy to share some of the pressure off.  "No. I remained on the USS Rosenante. It was a habit that he would never be able to break. His training in security taught him to always be alert of his surroundings. Each time he would step into a room he had to take in the scene. Today was really no different than any other day. Various officers and crewmen were sitting down at tables around the room eating their lunch and talking with one another.  Calvin moved to the back of Ten Forward where a separate room, separated by walls made of windows, was filled with tables varying in size. The area wasn't exactly meant for any certain reason but as the Captain came to the liking of eating in Ten Forward with everyone else it was kind of known as the CO's spot. It wasn't rare for others to stop in from time to time and asked to eat with the Captain if it seemed he was alone.  Stepping through the open archway which was used as the entry the Captain could see he was the first to arrive. He took a seat at one of the larger tables in case others showed. It of course wasn't required but he had sent an invitation over to the Rosenante crew and he was curious if any would show. He was certain as it regularly happened some of his senior staff would join him if they had the time to do so. He did notice though as he looked around Ten Forward there were faces he didn't recognized. He was certain that some of the Rosenante crew had indeed beamed over to mingle with new friends.  There was always something to coming across another ship in the vast amount of space. Sometimes you could be traveling day after day for an extended period of time seeing the same people. When you got the chance to talk with others you took to the opportunity.   The Captain became comfortable in his seat and in no time the wait staff approached him. "Good afternoon Captain, what will you be having today?" "Sweet tea for now, thank you," the Captain responded. "I'll be right back with that tea sir." Cmdr Ben Soma- Day 1 - 1228) Ben moved through the room exchanging words occasionally with whomever spoke to him, mostly he observed how both crews were mingling. They had worked with the Boudicca in the past, a mission Ben wouldn't soon forget. The Dovek mission had Ben facing some old fears, and the loss of his parents. Little did he know that when that mission began he would have the opportunity to liberate his parents from the Borg collective. He hoped that this chance meeting wouldn't be as dangerous but his instincts were telling him not to let his guard down. He had learned very early in his career to trust his instincts, they had served him well and saved his life once or twice. Why had the fates brought both great ships and crews together again? He would learn the answer to that question soon enough. He continued making his way around the room, returning introductions as they popped up. His mind wandered a little back to the previous mission involving the Veil, they hadn't been able to figure out who was behind the Veil and that bothered him. Unfortunately you couldn't solve every mystery and for now that one was on the back burner so to speak. He eventually chose a quiet corner to sit and finish his sandwich while he observed both crews interacting. He hoped that everyone in the room was enjoying the moments silence, it wasn't often that they got to take time and simply relax. Of course as a former Tac/Sec Ben never truly relaxed, even his training in martial arts had taught him to always be prepared and expect the unexpected. He always credited that training to his chosen career path, at least until Salid appointed him first officer on the Rose. Ben spotted Captain Capps at a table and decided it would be very bad manners not to at least introduce himself and thank the Captain for his hospitality. He left his empty mug ond plate on the table as he stood up, straightening out his tunic and brushing off a couple stray crumbs he made his way over to the captain's table. "Captain Capps." He began. "I'm Lieutenant Commander Ben Soma, the Rosenante's first officer. I'd like to thank you for the hospitality you've extended to the crew of the Rosenante." Looks delicious."   “It is sir, a crab and seafood bisque.  Similar to something my gram might cook for lunch.”  He looked away for a second thinking of the labs back home.  He was drawn back to the Captain’s time and space by the arrival of the approaching Rose officer.   The Captain then looked at the table and noticed not many spots were left. "You might take a seat before they are all gone," he said smiling.    “Looks that way sir.”  Harvey said and moved out of  the way for a seat at the table.  This allowed the other officer to approach.  As he passed the approaching officer he said, “Good afternoon sir.” And continued on his way to his place. Harvey found a spot and settled in.   "Captain Capps." He began. "I'm Lieutenant Commander Ben Soma, the Rossentante's first officer. "Our last meeting with the crew of the Boudicca was under less than ideal circumstances." Ben replied. "That mission was very difficult on everyone, though it is a nice change to just sit and relax for a while. It's been a while since both crews have been together so a little catching up and meeting old friends has been a nice diversion." "So what did you think about Boudicca?" The Captain asked. Of course Capps was aware that Ben took a brief stroll  through his ship. "The Boudicca is an impressive ship." Ben stated. "I've never been on a Keltoi before and once I beamed over I couldn't help but take a quick walk through a couple corridors. (Reply None) NRPG: Maddox is quiet and could be easily overlooked also he could easily overlook someone else if they were in the room previously, especially with the view in front of him and the work that was already on his mind. (posted by Todd) (USS Boudicca - Observation Room - ENS(jg) Harvey Armstrong - Sciences  - 1249)   Harvey had enjoyed several words with the Captain but the higher ranking officers were arriving and he knew it was time to move on to the briefing. He finished his bisque which was quite good for replicated matter.  He preferred his Gram’s but this would do in a pinch, he would remember to add the replication series to his personal files so that it would follow him from command to command throughout his career however long that  might be.  He savored the freshness of true bisque formed from the ingredients taken during a long day of hook and line sampling.  He smiled at the thought of the last time he and his father had fished. He entered the Observation Lounge where the briefing was to occur.  He noted a very self-involved officer studying the Lalo through the porthole.  He took up a place along a bulkhead and looked out as well not wanting to disturb the man.  He nodded as others filed in but stayed near the rear away from the senior officers and in a location where he had a commanding view of the space, his back safe and to the wall.  He continued to study the Lalo placing the few areas he had discovered along the hull.  He was unsure but it seemed that there was a docking hatch located very near the secreted lab he had discovered.  ~Had the crew of the Lalo or some other entity entered or exited the ship from this location?~  He would have to check the sensor data and see if there was any residual evidence.  It might explain why there was so much mystery around what happened.  If the crew had been disposed of and few left through this hatchway there would be no evidence in the logs, especially the transporter or sensor logs as this area had been screened from scans and shielded due to the Trilithium devices.  A million questions arose by the second and Harvey needed to clear his mind for the upcoming briefing, never say what you cannot prove unless someone asks for speculations or hypotheses, a constant reminder which he daily recited to himself.  You are a scientist Harvey not an EOD Specialist, he thought almost aloud. This mission was one that both puzzled and worried Tom. Jackson had a 'sixth sense' and it was screaming that something was amiss. Over the years Tom grew to trust this feeling. Yet the data didn't show a lot on th surface. Each team had found weapons and materials to create a powerful explosive.  There was the question of why the SS Lalo was now a derelict. Tom wondered what had caused this? Was it a trap? The room was pretty much filled and the briefing spin to start. (Reply: None) (Posted by: Bill W.) (USS Boudicca - Observation Room - CO Captain Calvin Capps - 1259) Captain Capps along with some others from the lunch walked into the room a minute before it started. For the Captain at least it was his discovery that showing up too early for a meeting really impeded the crew. They needed to setup the room for the meeting and for the officer's who showed up earlier normally didn't get to accomplish those last minute adjustments to their reports, probably because they felt the need to show the Captain their attention.  For that reason Captain Capps walked into the room as close to 1300 hours as possible. As he looked around everyone, as far as he knew, was present. Before he took his seat he looked over at the view screen at the back of the room. It was already showing various crew members of the Rosenante conferencing in to the meeting. And he also walked up to the Rosenante's First Officer, who was sitting in the first chair on the Captain's left, to shake his hand. "Thank you again and your crew for coming to lunch and to this improvisational meeting in such a short notice." (reply Soma) Calvin then released Ben's hand and took his seat. He looked over at his First Officer, who was sitting in the first chair on his right. An understanding nod between the two told Captain Capps that all was well to begin. "Thank you all for coming. This meeting is to coordinate the findings of both away teams." Having guest on their ship and it didn't seem to really matter who went first exactly Calvin decided to allow Commander Soma's team to start. "Commander Soma if your away team is ready." What had cause the hijackers hasty departure? (Reply: None) (Posted by: Bill W.) (USS Boudicca – Observation Room – Science Officer – Ensign (JG) Andrew Maddox – 1307) The meeting began in earnest once Captain Capps arrived. Once he turned the meeting over to Commander Soma and the Rose crew and her findings, Soma spoke. "While searching one of the cargo holds on the Lalo Lieutenant Jackson discovered a sample of ore, a scan of that ore resulted in some interesting findings." Ben stated. "Ensign Maddox discovered a high concentration of Trilithium in the ore, he requested for a sample to be beamed to him so he could study it in greater detail." Ben looked to Maddox. "Ensign Maddox will fill you in on his findings." ~OK here goes.~ Andrew swallowed hard and began his portion of the briefing. “The ore sample in question was found to be forty to fifty percent trilithium ore. With impurities of kelbomite, fistrium and ferrous oxide.  Additionally the crew of the Boudicca found in a hidden room processing equipment and materials enough to create a trilithium-tekasite-protomatter device.  Just one device alone has enough explosive power to rival four standard photon torpedoes or one quantum torpedo.  That’s the half of it, with some modifications to the device fired either from a rocket or standard torpedo launcher and fired into a star’s core, the device could halt all fusion within that star causing a super nova.  I think everyone remembers the incident in the  Veridian system?” Andrew paused for interjections of someone who didn’t remember the Veridian system, there were none. “Analysis of the ore itself and comparison to known mining facilities revealed a probable match.  With a 98.735% match to current records the sample came from Ternax IV.  According to records the planet is an abandoned terraforming project and mining colony.” (Reply any) “Records state that the colony was abandoned 60 years ago due to ‘unstable tectonic shifting’. Which with current information may not be entirely accurate.  If this sample was removed from Ternax IV and recently from all indications, then this planet has an active mining facility.  With the other materials present with the trilithium and the equipment available just on the Lalo we can deduce that their objective is to make a weapon of some sort.  With 60 years to construct something almost anything can be present.” (Reply any) “Well domes to keep in an atmosphere, is a possibility.  With all the kelbomite and fistrium available on that planet, sensors would be severely hampered they could control a single beam in point or even a hard docking station. That scenario seems more likely to me.  Especially if some clandestine or illegal mining operation is going on there.  A whole underground lab and or manufacturing facility could be present with any number of agents, pirates or soldiers guarding it.” (Reply any, Capps, Soma) (Posted by Todd) (USS Boudicca - Observation Room - TAC/S  LT(JG)  Detron Trei - 13.10) He listened to the reports and made some notes in his PADD.  It was time for his report.  He stood and began his report. "I agree with Mr. Maddox on his findings.  I took the away team over to SS Lalo not knowing what will be found.  My initial theory was that the freighter held parts of "The Planet Eater."  It looks now that the truth is far worse indeed.  Armstrong and Star found a lab with several chemicals to make a Trilithium bomb or destructive device.  If what Maddox says is true, then the whole quadrant is in serious danger.  I suggest we send a team to the surface of the planet.  I have some new surprises to take care of any resistance.  "   He reached in his pocket and pulled out several pellets.  There were four green and four red pellets.    "I will now demonstrate how the green and red pellets work..  The green pellets cause any weapons to fire back against the effected and make the weapons turn against them for a short time.  The red pellets are used to create a  force field shield to protect the user from anything around them. "  He got up from the table and  went to an open area of the room away from the table.  He threw the red pellets down first.  A force field was created with a reddish glow. that surrounded him.  He then threw down the green pellets.  He then extended his hand phaser and fired several shots.  The shots turned against him and hit the force field shield.  The shots kept hitting the shield until they were out of energy.  He returned to his seat at the table and made notes in his PADD to a successful experiment.  He waited for comments and reaction from the room. (Reply Capps, Maddox, Any) (Posted by Edward) (USS Boudicca - Observation Room - COPS LT Tom Jackson - 1314) Tom listened ckisekt as Trei made his report. His pellets were a wonderful surprise. Tom stood and briefly relayed his findings. "My team located what Mr. Maddox has demonstrated is Trilitum. We all know what a dangerous explosive that is. Another thing we found was several  disruptor's" Tom paused to allow for questions. (Reply: Any) Jackson went on further. "What concerns me is why the Lalo is now derelict and what were the hijackers are up to in the first place? I agree with Kt Trei we have to go to the surface and find out what thus all about!" Tom ended with. (Reply: Any) (Posted by: Bill W.) (USS Boudicca - Observation Room - ENS(jg) Harvey Armstrong - Sciences - 1315)   Ensign Armstrong had remained near the bulkhead out of the way of the more senior officers.  He pushed off the wall and laid an answer on the table for Lieutenant Jackson’s inquiry and added a response to Trei’s remarks as well.  “Gentlemen,” he said as both men outranked him and to save some words in the briefing though he would have liked to have known them both better, enough to call them by name, “Ensign Star and I discovered the lab and found there the makings of Man Portable Trilithium Explosive Vests.  It is my opinion that these vests will be high yield explosives used by some hostile force, most likely the General and his people, for mass casualty events in populated areas or severe structural damage in some area that would require the sacrifice of a trusted person.  The vests were designed to fit under clothing with enough explosive yield to have a primary blast radius of no less than twenty to thirty meters with secondary and tertiary affects far greater.  There was one incomplete vest in the lab and enough raw materials for five or six more.  No less than four were made in the lab recently.”  Harvey felt as if he had been droning on and on.  He took a breath and then concluded, “I am not sure of the target but I would look for civilized targets in the immediate area or on the planet as well as the design specifics for the mining operations as the bomb might be used in that way by a turned miner or some other person who the General may have seduced into this heinous act.” (Posted By Andy C.) (USS Boudicca - Observation Room – Ass CEO – Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras – 1319) After having taken a good look of the ship disposition while in direction to the observation room, Tho'var discretely entered. Most of the people there were unknown to him. He would have liked to have a chance to meet them in a less professional meeting, but he had to miss the prior invitation to the mess hall in order to be updated about the engineering situation. At least now he knew a bit what has been done lately and who was working in the engineering department.  Tho'var took a seat beside his direct superior, lieutenant commander Matrix, and listened to the senior staff reports. With the PADD in front of him, he was taking a lot of notes about everything has been said, paying more particular attention to the trilithium device. It was quite strange to see that kind of explosive device into their hands, especially with the vest. It looked like kamikaze bombing, a strategy that were mostly only used by despaired and quite indoctrinated people. Tho'var knew no organization that were so far indoctrinated. Without knowing who could be behind, it was difficult to know what could be their designated targets.  Another strange thing was the trilithium potentiality. What was the most difficult was to stabilize the trilithium. It needed some incredible scientific knowledge and quite a lot of resources. Finding the way to add the trilithium to a torpedo was rather easy in comparison. If they had successful done the former, that normally meant they had the means to complete the latter. But if you had the potential to destroy a sun....and therefore destroy a whole system, why would you need suicide bombing? There is absolutely no need to terrorize with suicide bombings people that are about to die anyway with the destruction of their system. The two could not be used together. It was rather one or the other. If they were intending to use both, it certainly meant they had more than one target, and it also certainly meant the suicide bombing were probably for systems they rather couldn't or wouldn't want to destroy. A kind of strategy of terror where you hit the well-defended worlds with suicide bombing, while also creating panic by attacking the sun of less defended systems.  The images of the Andorian and Aenar genocide were vivid to his mind. The Lalo explosive and the Genocide were similar situations, with the only difference that Doenitz had had way better means and resources to spread the chaos. The former had already the power....the latter only had a weapon to cause fear...and death. But that alone was terrible. Already too many people died from the hands of fanatic and despot. How could there still be people who were so filled with hatred and gone so mad, they could want to destroy the whole galaxy just for the sake of it?   Those images were quite hard to repeal, wish was quite troublesome. In a senior meeting was not the time to be emotionally affected. Remembering lessons he was taught during his staying on Vulcan, Tho'var closed his eyes and concentrated to repeal the emotions.  (Reply no one) (Posted by Nick) (USS Boudicca - Ten Forward– Ensign Emily Star – 1320) “Can you believe he actually asked me to move into his quarters?” “Ridiculous.” Emily sat at the bar quietly listening to the two ladies discuss the intricate details of their twisted love lives. The other girl, also blonde, moved her hands to her hips. “I couldn’t help but overhear your conversation a few moments ago. As her friend why not just tell her that.” “Who the hell are you?” The blonde security officer jumped off her seat, “She is my best friend and I would never believe that he would ever sleep with her. She is not his type and he says she’s definitely not his.” “What’s that supposed to mean?” Her hands moved from her hips to cross over front, “You don’t think Science can mix with Security?” “No no, that’s not a problem. He’s just picky about his girls.” She shrugged, “You know that.” “Well he can’t be that picky if he’s with you.” She cut in. She dimmed the light a bit as well. After all, she was alone, so there was no one to mind her having some time on her own. The sounds phased from lively forest to the rainy forest and the pages were going fast, almost too fast.   She was over the half when the runabout dropped out of warp. She put a small duranium dogtags, with letters and numbers too small to read, to the page she was reading and slowly closed the book.   [Attention: We are at the proximity to the USS Rosenante]   ~Great,~ Ailyn thought ~would be great if the computer would ask for docking too~ thought Ailyn and chuckled then slowly put her shoes back on, while checking if her starfleet uniform looks tidy. Ben regarded her for a moment, she appeared to be several inches shorter than he was likely around Marah's height. Her skin was pale, Ben assumed that the color filters on the main viewscreen needed adjustment but that wasn't the case at all. Ensign Ailyn Anderson didn't appear to spent a lot of time in the sun, which is something he hadn't expected. He remembered his academy days and every chance he got he was off to some beach or other venue, that is when he wasn't honing his piloting skills.  "Commander, this is Ensign jg, Doctor Ailyn Andersen." Sanok stated. "Ensign Anderson." He began. "Welcome aboard the USS Rosenante. Forgive me for not introducing myself earlier, I'm Lieutenant Commander Ben Soma the Rosenante's first officer. Please have a seat." Ben nodded to Sanok indicating he was free to return to the bridge. Once Anderson was seated Ben accepted the PADD she offered and read over her transfer orders. He placed the PADD on the Captain's desk and stood up crossing to the replicator. "Coffee, black, hot." He instructed and turned back to Anderson. "Can I get you anything Ensign?" (reply Anderson) Ben returned to the desk and sat down placing his mug on it's surface. "How's Earth?" Ben asked making some small talk. "It's been years since I've been back there." (reply Anderson) "I trust you had an uneventful flight out here." Ben said. (reply Anderson) This was probably not the reception Anderson had envisioned but Ben could tell a lot about a person from their body language, and it didn't hurt to get to speak with your crew on occasion as it let them know you were approachable. After the short exchange it was down to business, they had a mission to proceed with. "Ensign you've been assign to cabin C-53 on deck 5." He stated. "I trust you've familiarized yourself with the Rosenante's layout so you'll have no trouble finding it or sickbay." The last he said with a smile knowing that Anderson wouldn't have come on board without knowing where her work station was located. (reply Anderson) (posted by Milo Young) (USS Rosenante, Captain's Ready Room, Ensign (jg) Ailyn Andersen, Day 1, 1448)   Sanok escorted Ailyn right infront of the ready room, then he entered first and Ailyn went in right behind. Sanok was puzzled by something, his eyes going over the man in the chair. Whatever it was, however, Sanok did a good job not showing it.   "Commander, this is Ensign jg, Doctor Ailyn Andersen." said Sanok while looking at the figure sitting in the captain's chair   The clean shaved, black haired tanned man was the same one she met earlier in her runabout. He didn't seem accustomed to the chair, but was obviously doing well so far and obviously had the command of the ship. Perhaps this time she would hear his name.   "Ensign Anderson" he began ~It's Andersen, but I'm going to overlook it if you...~ "Welcome aboard the USS Rosenante. Forgive me for not introducing myself earlier, I'm Lieutenant Commander Ben Soma the Rosenante's first officer. Please have a seat." ~...would tell me... wait, what happened to the Captain?~ Ailyn thought, her original thoughts vanishing   Without even thinking it, she took a seat infront of the desk. Bringing the PADD to the desk with her left hand, in a clumsy manner. Lieutenant Commander Soma took the PADD and read it over. After placing it on his desk, he stood up, turning to the replicator.   "Coffee, black, hot" he ordered and turned back to Ailyn "Can I get you anything Ensign?"   "Oh, nothing sir, thank you." said Ailyn while looking at the man returning to his desk and placing his drink on it. The coffee was steamy hot and it's aroma came to Ailyn seconds later.   "How's Earth?" he asked Ailyn in a more casual talk. "It's been years since I've been back there."   "It's... going good actually. It's nice, and peaceful." ~...for now atleast.~ Ailyn knew that peace would not last forever. But Soma didn't seem to comment it any further.   "I trust you had an uneventful flight out here." he added   ~Well, I certanly didn't stumble upon a Borg Cube...~ Ailyn amused herself "I enjoyed the flight, actually. It went pretty smooth though." said Ailyn trying to explain that it wasn't that bad. The talk took a casual turn, something Ailyn did not expected. Perhaps he was trying to be friendly, or just wanted to make it as easy to Ailyn as possible. A surprise because she expected a strict military conduct and a hefty ammount of pressure, something Ailyn got used by now. She never really liked it though.   Quickly enough, he continued in a more business-at-hand approach. "Ensign you've been assign to cabin C-53 on deck 5." ~As long as it ain't near the reactors I'm a happy puppy~ Ailyn thought "I trust you've familiarized yourself with the Rosenante's layout so you'll have no trouble finding it or sickbay." he added while smiling   "Yes, sir." said Ailyn with a happy voice, then continued "Permission to go to my post."   She wanted to start serving as soon as possible. She really had no idea what was happening on the ship, where is the Captain and what was the other ship that the Runabout's sensors caught, but she knew one thing, if there's trouble, there's injuries.   (Reply: Ben Soma) (Posted by: Lani) (USS Rosenante, Ready Room, FO, Lt. Cmdr Ben Soma, Day 1, 1450) "Yes, sir." said Ailyn with a happy voice, then continued "Permission to go to my post." ~This one's eager~ Ben remembered being just as eager when the boarded the Dennison for the first time, as soon as he knew where he was heading he downloaded the schematics to a PADD and studied them for hours on end. "Granted Doctor." Ben said. "Dismissed" Anderson rose to leave the ready room and Ben reached out to grab his mug for a mouthful of coffee, he had just tipped the mug when his combadge chimed. =/\=Salid to Soma.=/\= "Soma here Captain." He answered returning his mug to the desk. =/\=Are you able to speak freely Commander?=/\= "Yes Sir." Ben replied. "Ensign Anderson has just left." =/\=I have some news for you Ben.=/\= Salid said. =/\=I've just finished a conference call with Admiral Grahm, I'm being recalled.=/\= "Shall I set a course?" Ben inquired. =/\=That won't be necessary Ben.=/\= Salid replied. =/\=I'll be taking the runabout that Ensign Anderson came on. Your to assume command of the Rosenante and continue with the investigation of the Lalo.=/\= "How long will you be gone?" Ben asked curious. =/\=I regret that I cannot answer that question Commander, and I can't go into any details regarding my absence. Captain Capps is the senior officer present so follow his instructions as you would my own.=/\= "Of course Sir." Ben replied. "Have a safe journey." =/\=Thank you Ben.=/\= Salid replied. =/\=I'll be departing shortly, requesting permission to depart.=/\= "Permission granted." Ben said. With that the line went dead, Ben took another mouthful of coffee and then stood and placed the half empty mug back on the replicator and hit the recycle key. After the mug had faded he crossed the ready room and exited onto the bridge, glancing at the main viewscreen he saw the runabout settling in on a course. Once it had cleared the Lalo and had left all three ships behind it jumped into warp, this mission was becoming one mystery after another.
