Mars Facilities

Mars Starbase

A starbase in orbit of Mars maintains facilities for all administration of Martian operations. The starbase serves as the command center for the Mars Defence Perimeter and coordinates operations throughout the Sol System.

When Admiral Remae Ktell arrived in 2444, the starbase was largely empty and without power. Since then, power has been restored and the base has been returned to operational status.

Utopia Planitia Shipyards

The Utopia Planitia Shipyards are located in orbit of Mars and have been one of Starfleet's most important shipyards throughout history. The shipyards have constructed many famous vessels, including the USS Republic, which was parked there before being reactivated.

The shipyards suffered significant damage in the 2385 synth attack but continue to operate, supporting ship construction and repair operations.

Fighter Squadron Launch Bays

Launch bays for various fighter squadrons are located in the orbital facilities. These squadrons form part of the Mars Defence Perimeter's defensive capabilities, flying sorties around Mars and Sector 001.

Operations Command and Control

This is the command centre for all operations in the area. The operations center coordinates activities across all Mars facilities and maintains communication with Federation assets throughout the Sol System.

The operations center includes command and control systems, communication arrays, and coordination facilities for fleet operations.

Medical Facilities

The medical facilities are located on the surface of Mars and are capable of treating large numbers of patients. The facilities include:

• Medical offices and examination rooms
• Personal quarters for patients
• Counselling suites
• Medical research laboratories
• Training areas for medical personnel

These facilities provide comprehensive medical care for personnel stationed at Mars and can support emergency medical operations.

Science Facilities

The science facilities are located on the surface of Mars and support scientific research, experimentation, testing, and training. The facilities include:

• Research laboratories
• Experimental facilities
• Testing areas
• Training facilities for science personnel
• Data analysis centers

Security Facilities

The tactical and security facilities are spread out across all facilities of Mars. The surface facilities contain training areas for security personnel, including:

• Combat training facilities
• Weapons training ranges
• Tactical simulation areas

Engineering and Shipyards

Engineering teams work on the shipyards to either construct or repair ships. They are also responsible for the upkeep of all sections within Martian space. The engineering facilities include:

Pilot Training Grounds

Pilots protect the area, flying sorties around Mars and around Sector 001. The Pilot division comprises the new Mars Defence Perimeter. Pilot training facilities include:
