On New Wicca Wednesday grew up learning about the nature of her world. Her mother had hoped that she would grow into the priesthood of their beliefs as she had a natural gift to see the patterns of the Goddess. But that gift for patterns also made her an amazing Fixer. She saw the math of quantum physics and that led her down the path of an engineer for the planetary systems.

A Starfleet shuttle had crashed landed on her world when she was 16 years old. She was able to diagnose the problem and resolve the issue in a short time. The Starfleet officer, Commander Jason Nesbit, saw the girls rare gift and offered to take her back to Earth and enroll her in the academy.

Initially her mother refused to let her go. But it didn’t take long for her to see that keeping her daughter there was selfish, and in the end, hurtful to Wednesday’s energy. So she allowed it.

Wednesday was born and raised on Neogardenia Colony, also called New Wicca. This was a colony that had been settled by the Wiccan culture from Earth in the 23rd century. They had grown tired of the persecution for their religious beliefs.

The Wiccans were a matriarchal society who believe in a reverence for nature, personal responsibility and a Goddess as well as a God. The followed the Wiccan Rede; Harm none and do what you will, which emphasizes personal freedoms, as long as no one is hurt. This includes the energy they send out into the universe. (The rule of Three: Energy returns threefold, whether it be positive or negative.)

Many think that Wiccans perform magic, however what they really do only seems magical. As a people they are in tune with each other, nature and the universe, which gives them focus to solve problems that others just don’t see. Originally it was focused on self improvement and healing, but through the centuries has moved to making the universe better.

Wiccans tend to be isolationists, not trusting outsiders, for fear of their fears. Wednesday is the only Wicca. To have left their world, voluntarily, in over 100 years.

Wednesday entered tha academy and completed her courses in the engineering program in two years. She was offered an internship on a starship and was assigned to the USS Illuminar. There she made her first “friends”, and trained under Lt. Bohb.

After completing her internship she was assigned to Starbase Freedom.

A quick learner, Wednesday has strong mathematical skills, and an understanding of quantum physics through her connection to the universe. She also reads people very well. There are those who believe that she can do magic or witchcraft. She denies this vigorously, saying that she is simply connected to nature.

Wednesday is a voracious reader and enjoys a wide range genres. Currently she is engrossed in romance novels. She also practices her religion which includes incantations and potion making, for medicinal purposes.

Most people are uncomfortable around her because of her reputation as a Wiccan. Rumors were started in her academy days that she would cast spells on fellow cadets who crossed her and they mysteriously fell ill or disappeared. Because of that she does not make friends easily and keeps people at arms length.
